He is very kind and friendly. His lecture is very clear, and if you do not understand, just ask, he will go over slower. He makes jokes a lot. His class is not difficult at all. This is the first time I feel so comfortable to walk into a math class. He assigns a few homework for each chapter. It's an easy A class but you will learn a lot from him.

This class was just amazing. Professor Vu is ready to help students, he will change his whole schedule just to match your schedule. His class was probably the best math class I've taken in my life. He wouldn't give you too much homework but enough to learn the subject, while giving you extra to practice for a test or final.

By far the best professor ever. He's willing to stay after class and help you individually. He will accommodate and compromise with any student that really shows they're willing to put in the effort. Homework is fairly easy and short if you pay attention in class and is only given out once a week.

Let me begin by saying, Professor Nguyen is by far the best math professor I've EVER had. He is so clear and concise with his teaching and if you don't understand something he doesn't mind going over it again. His lectures are so detailed, yet not boring at all, he has your attention with his quick witted jokes and easy going style. I had a difficult time in math back in high school, so I decided to retake math in college. He made his lectures very clear and does not need to use the textbook. He makes the concepts very easy to understand, which helps me a lot, especially since I did miss some of these back in high school. He is friendly and checks up to you if you need help.

Prof Vu is the best professor. I recommend taking him because you will not regret. I took him for Cal 1 and cal 2 and he's really the best. He really cares about his students. Test are straight from his practice test. He does group work and alot of opportunity to get extra credit.

Vu is the best!! Ive never been in an easier class! Math 2 was supposed to be hard but his lectures and hw were a breeze! Light homework and tests, group work every class, video on at all times, and accessible outside of class. If you do your part, youll certainly pass! You wont regret taking him. We need more math professors like him!

Took Vu for stat at chabot. Amazing teacher, always available after class for help and clarification. Exams are easy as well. Usually hw is a little difficult but if you send an email or join office hours, he explains it very well. Only downside is that no hw assignment was graded at the end of the semester so waiting for final grades was stressful

Super easy class, explains very well, willing to help with tutors after class. You do have to participate for credit and present yourself but homework is very low.

Probably the easiest class at Chabot. Class was easy and fun. Homework is like once a week and he would go over the quizzes with us. The quizzes are only like 5 questions and are not hard if you just study. Would recommend any of his classes.

Attend the zoom calls twice a week (MANDATORY). Assigns only 1 hw assignment per week, has many office hours for tutoring. All tests including final are 15% each so as long as you do the hw and get decent scores on the tests you'll be fine. (He allows one cheat sheet as well. Super sweet and fun guy never had a better math teacher. Trust me

Took this class super last minute b/c I needed it as a pre-requisite for my major. His lectures are really clear & he is always really patient and thorough when it comes to questions and explanations. Quizzes/tests are pretty straightforward & reflect what you learn in class. He's also super accessible via text, email, and OH. Great prof & person!

Vu is absolutely amazing. You do have to be in class as he doesn't record his lectures but he makes this so easy to understand and responds quickly to texts and emails. He's super friendly and is very easy going. He allowed a cheat sheet on all of his tests and quizzes. Highly recommend!

One of the best teachers I have had. Helps you out, and want you to succeed in his class. We get homework ones a week in his class after we go over the lesson. His lessons are easy to understand and his notes help you out when it comes to understanding the course material. Definitely planning to take his class next semester.

Prior to taking math with Vu, I always struggled with math and never got an A. That all changed when I took Vu. He is seriously so good at explaining everything, hes such a good teacher. I wish he taught all my math classes! I cant recommend him enough. Hes such an amazing teacher.

Took Math back in HS, and coming into this class I was scared for my life. But I was overthinking when coming to this class. Vu is a great professor/ math teacher and really helps you out if you truly do not understand the problem. Highly recommended, one of the best teachers around no cap. TLDR: Most goat'd prof in the math dept. Maybe even in Chabot Amazing lectures. Makes conceptually hard content easy to understand. Moderately difficult quizzes, but practice quizzes help a lot. If you are to take ANY math teacher, I suggest you take Vu. I don't know how this guy does it, but he makes math seem so easy. He's extremely good at breaking things down so you understand. I've honestly never had a better math teacher, I wish he could teach all of my classes, lol. 10/10 recommend you take Vu for math. He genuinely cares.

Used various examples when introducing new material. This help me as a student understand the material clearly and if anyone still had doubts he would clear those doubts there and then. He sometimes made the class participate in fun examples he would make up making the class fun, yet still being educational.

Even though he's the only math teacher I've taken so far, he's probably the greatest at this school. He's very caring and understanding and he allows cheat sheets for every quiz. He's very easy to talk to and he's very accessible outside of class. At the end of the semester, he dapped up everyone, who you know doing that? TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.

If you had to choose a math professor Professor Vu is the one. By far my favorite teacher at Chabot. I took him for two math classes and passed both with flying colors. He understands students and teaches them in a way where you can understand the material. Homework is given, but as long as you understand his lectures homework should be easy.

I was scared to take Calculus however, after taking this course with Vu I feel like I would want to take some of his other math courses for fun. Concepts were broken up so that they would be easy to understand. This professor is truly the best!

Best math instructor I've ever had, period. He managed to take a pretty hard subject, and break it down into basic steps so anyone could understand. Not once did I feel like I was falling behind (coming from someone who falls behind easily). Grades are mostly from exams and quizzes, but you will never see anything that hasn't been already covered.

Easiest A+ I have ever gotten. Lectures are very clear and detailed. Notes are simplified and broken down to a comprehensible level. Homework is based off the notes and the problems are straightforward. Copying notes can only get you so far so attendance is strongly recommended. There's really no way to fail the course or get anything less than a B

Such an amazing teacher, took him for fall statistics and just loved him. I failed statistics twice before him. The way he explains things makes it all make sense. He works with multiple examples so everything comes together. He is the literal best math teacher at chabot

I took Vu's night time class and it was one of the best decisions I made since I've never taken a night class. He knows how to make the class energetic enough to concentrate on his lessons with the frequent group assignments. He is also very interactive with students in case there are any questions or concerns on anything we learned in that day.

Best math professor hands down. I've taken him for math 2, math 3, and math43 and got all A's. Just show up to class, and do the study guides (99% similar to exams) as he goes over them. Office hours help a lot and have appointments for students who can't make it which I find is really nice and caring of him. Easy to understand his lectures as well

Hands down the best Professor. Lectures aren't heavy and despite a light accent, is very easy to understand so I didn't study much. Accessible almost any time out of class. Very understanding of personal situations and has a good sense of humor. Not saying good luck to anyone because no one will need it for his class :)

Took his Math 15 course in the Spring, dude is a standup guy and I had him for Math 43 in the fall of 2021. So far I'm taking summer classes at CSUEB and I have to say his teaching of derivatives makes it easy to compute it to other upper div classes. Defo rec for anything mth related, LuvuVU

vu was sent from math heaven to help those with teacher trauma. clear lectures, lenient grading with many extra credit opportunities, incorporated fun through game days, extra help after class, light homework load and allowed cheat sheets on quizzes! always felt confident going into class on test days, definitely my new standard for a good teacher

Take him!! Cheated my way through calc 1 so I was kinda worried about going into calc 2 but he broke down everything so clearly, I ended up feeling confident every test and enjoyed coming to class. Great teacher + a funny and friendly guy Also he gave money prizes during 1 game day and brought in cake for us at the end of the semester :)

This man literally has descended from the heavens to teach math. Vu breaks down immensely difficult concepts into easy to understand lectures. If you can take him for any math class do it. I was never that great at math but after taking Calc 2 with Vu I felt I had a better understanding of the material more than any other math course I took.

Professor Vu is straight to the point no BS kind of person, and his kind of teaching works wonders for me because he narrows down complicated topics into easy to follow lessons. He allows a cheat sheet for quizzes and is very understanding about missing assignments but don't slack off on homework or attendance cuz he covers a lot of content.

He is amazing. He usually gets filled quick but waitlist! You might get a spot. He knows how to teach and actually answers any questions you have. He's good looking and has a nice smile lol. I passed Calc 1 with a B and struggled quite a bit. So when I saw I could take Calc 2 during the summer I thought this would be a huge pain since the class would be compressed but boy was I wrong. I left class feeling like a math genius every day. He goes both slow and fast, but if you're paying attention, the work and math will seem like a breeze.

You will never meet somebody that makes Math easier to learn. People are not being dramatic with their reviews about him, he is actually the best thing that has graced Chabot College. Math is usually the class I dread every semester and I thought Calculus 2 would give me major trouble. This felt like an Algebra class. No one does it like Vu.

While I love and appreciate Vu, he's a great teacher. I fear he made his class TOO easy. And now, I'm suffering the consequences in my higher level classes. I feel very far behind my peers because nothing stuck in Math 1 or 2, it kinda feels like I didn't actually learn what I needed to learn. It's nice to pass easily, it doesn't help down the line

The ratings didn't lie. I understood calculus very easily because of Professor Vu, and his lectures were always VERY engaging. I was never bored; he actually made math fun lol. Amazing professor.

Vu's a great professor I personally struggle a lot with math and was nervous to take a college math class but he made it easy and he encourages you to speak with students around you when you need help. He made extra credit activities after lecture and bonus questions on quizes. There will be a waitlist for his class so be aware.

very easy class as long as you show up to class because each day you are introduced with something new. take CLEAR notes and stay on top of homework and you'll be okay. professor is very nice, funny, and caring. reach out if you have questions and need help! workload was light and manageable :)

I personally had a good experience with Professor Vu, I took his summer class and had a car crash early in the class which caused back pain but Vu was really nice and helped accommodate. I had to miss some days which in a summer class, you cant afford to do that but Vu was nice and understanding. I enjoyed the group work

stem major here and just want to reassure people that you don't have to be treated poorly and stress all semester in order to learn. I've carried the notes i have from Vu throughout the semesters and they still make things easier as i go through tougher subjects. take advantage of one of the few good math professors from Chabot

I took Vu for Calc 1 and Calc 2 and I'm actually his TA for Calc 3. Vu is an amazing professor who makes sures that his students understands his concepts by showing them shortcuts that he invents by himself. I highly recommend him for any class because he is overall an amazing professor. Also, if you want a harder class, then PICK a harder class.

Vu is a great & very empathetic professor. He teaches very thoroughly which makes understanding concepts VERY easy to understand! I will say that getting through modules for the class will be slower in comparison to the other calc classes, so please remember to plan your schedule/classes according to what you'd like to get out of it :) !!

I am transferring to UC to major in STEAM, so I wanted to thank Prof VU for his amazing classes during my time at Chabot. His classes motivated me to keep going, before I had an awful professor who made me feel like math was hard (Doris, Yest, and more), but his class was AMAZING! GOOD LUCK!

It was a pleasure to take this class with Vu, he is a very kind and caring person. He gives a lot of review from algebra and lower calculus classes in case you need the refresher. He also allows formula sheets on exams. I did not expect a calculus course to feel relaxed and easy, but this one was.

Took him for MTH 2 and didn't disappoint. Made learning the stuff easy. I see a lot of people not like how he makes it easy but like he teaches the required stuff clearly so if you were to come to a harder problem down the line, you have a clear pov of what to do. Get ready for game day and potluck before final. Such a cool dude. He's like a friend

He is a good teacher and I really enjoyed his course. There is a lot of homework on the weekend though so prepare to spend 5-6 hours on the grind in the weekend. But if you attend daily you will have no problem passing this course considering he gives so many extra credits and allow cheat sheets in the quizzes.

Despite my grade being a C+ (because outside circumstances), trust me when I say that Vu might be one of the greatest teachers in the campus. He actually explains every bit and detail of each subject. In fact, you don't need a text book for his class unlike the calc 2 teacher I have this semester. If you need calc1&2 take his class..... TRUST!!!!

Gives 1 side cheat sheet on quizzes easy lectures and is clear If you're confused, he'll stop class and help Trust me, he's literally the best. HE ALSO TEACHES CALC 2, 3, AND STATS. Vu is one of the nicest and chillest professors I've taken by far. Always made class fun and interactive with lots of extra credit opportunities.He always tries to break everything down to make the lessons easier to understand which is very helpful. There is lots of long HW assignments but very manageable. Would definitely take him again.

I would get all A's in every class but math with a B, I finally received an A for calculus. He really cares and takes baby steps for his students, increasing the difficulty slightly. I would highly recommend to those who need math. (If you're STEM taking high maths, go to someone else..)
