Hated this class. No textbook/powerpoint and he rants a lot. I had a friend taking the same class on another day and our notes were completely different because of his crazy tangents. The tests weren't so bad but you'll have no idea what to study so you'll end up failing. He WAS very interesting, however, it is not worth gambling your grade.

Amazing teacher who is passionate about science. He is one of the interesting professors that I have had at pierce. The way in which the class is structured is to teach the students how to learn to learn on their own. Overall, the most inspirational teacher I have ever had. If you record lectures and listen to them after each you'll do well.

No textbook. No guide to tests, so it's basically a shot in the dark as to what to study. Lectures are boring and he goes off on tangents and yells at/embarrasses everyone who asks a question. Learned nothing new and I would not take this class again. It was a huge waste of time and the professor was more often rude than not. Avoid if you can.

Be sure to have the cell OFF and arrive on time or else he will make a public embarressment of you in front of the class.

At Pierce, some teachers that I took for classes are either a hit or a miss. But Professor Meyer is a clear miss. The only way you could really "learn" is by listening to his old lectures that either he or his assistant recorded on Canvas. I dropped him because I wasn't getting anywhere with him. I recommend taking another life science class.
