This guy is the best teacher at CSU. He is a great teacher and a very genuine guy. Take his class if you have the opportunity. He is also very hot.

pay attention to the powerpoints

This guy was born to teach. His class is fun and it's not difficult at all. Study the powerpoints and there is no reason why you can't get an A. Don't waste your money on the book, he doesnt use it.

This is a great teacher, he will tell you the same thing a million ways to get that little light bulb to go off. As far as tests go they are't HARD but it would be beneficial to write FAST or you won't finish. Overall i WOULD take this professor again for another class.

Mr. Chumney is awesome. I wish I had him for Bus. Law I. He has a good personality and his class is fun. Tests are essay/discussion but he grades them very leniently. If you can't pass his class then I would question if you should even be in college.

Professor Chumney is a unique professor who takes his Lawyer experience to the classroom to convey a unique look into the business world. One funny thing about his class though is he makes you want to quit your job. lol. His tests are essay but you need to answer EVERY QUESTION. A great well rounded teacher.

Prof. Chumney was a very good professor - you can tell it is important to him that he teaches the material, doesn't just present it. He makes difficult material easy to learn, very helpful, lets you know what you need to study.

He is a nice guy but he talks to us like we are in second grade. I know he means well but it's very annoying. It's not a difficult class, though. Study the powerpoints and you should do fine

Prof. Chumney is a great teacher. He thoroughly goes over everything you need to know and his grading system is awesome! There are only 2 tests and the final so I thought i was going to flunk out... but the way he teaches I ended up with an A!!! :-D I recommend his class to anyone and everyone!!!

I have no "Libelous" comments, the class material wasn't the most exciting, but Prof. Chuney is a great Prof. and he makes the material relatable and teaches you SO much. The tests ARE NOT easy and require alot of studying but in the end the required effort helps you learn so much! Great class!

for a law class, he made it interesting. laid back, conversation driven, non-judgemental, easy on the eyes... really, he's a great professor. he'll answer any question as best he can. the powerpoints are key, the book really isn't too necessary, but helpful because of the examples. just show up and pay attention and you'll be fine.

This class got me thinking about possibly going to Law School. I enjoyed his class because 1. he was a great teacher with not only insight, but a calming teaching style and 2. it is such a practical class to have considering everything we do involves the law in one way or another! TAKE CHUMNEY, you won't regret it!

The Good: Nice guy, young, let's students interact (and doesn't mind when they get carried away). NO HOMEWORK! Just 3 tests. The Bad: Tests require sheer memorization. Your understanding and application ability is rendered useless. Atrocious handwriting. Have no clue what his comments say on my tests. Really, take the extra second to be legible.

Good teacher, at times the class goes a little slow. Overall it has been an enjoyable experience.

Professor Chumney is great, his class is very helpful. But however it can get a little frustrating with folks in the class making random personal comments just to try and up their participation grade. Other than that the class isn't that bad.

He disliked practicing law so now he teaches it. His experience makes him overqualified for this basic class. Just three tests which require you to memorize powerpoints. I spent 2 hours studying for each test and got A's. He mentions the Blakemore - 21st intersection too much, and I think he means to be referring to the Wedgewood - 21st part of it.

Checks attendance every time, but has no problem if you come in late (no matter how late). Great teacher. Participation is confusing. When someone participates, he makes a pencil mark on the attendance sheet. However, he did this very sporadically and sometimes I'd speak up three times and get no mark. Hope it doesn't affect my final grade.

Great instructor i wish that the grade was spread out to include some other credit. 3 test are the base of your grade. If you cannot memorize you may be in trouble.

I had him at CSU and I can only say that it's a shame we don't have him anymore. I highly recommend taking every class you possibly can with him. Class does get a little boring at times but that's because of the subject matter, not him.

Prof. C. is a great teacher. The class is interesting and he knows his stuff. The tests are hard. They come from the powerpoints but there are a TON of slides to know! He doesn't give out study guides and you are supposed to just know everything. You need to go to class to take good notes. He has a dry humor but its hilarious.

He's a really good professor. Very young, so it's easy to relate and connect with him. His tests require a lot of studying, but there is nothing on the exam that he has not covered in class. Definitely recommend him.

Mr. Chumney is the best professor i have had. There are power points for each chapter but take notes. He has many examples and stories relating to the chapter. He plays clips from SNL, South Park and COPS. He is so funny and really wants everyone to learn the material. He also gives the class a chance to talk about their experiences. LOVE HIM!

he is extremely helpful in the class. he is energetic about the material and can really relate to the class. he comes up with many examples that make the connection between the course material and the real life. his tests are a bit challenging but i felt better when i got a good grade and i was motivated to really study the material

Chumney is a great teacher. I enjoyed the class. It can get somewhat boring at times, but that's more of the subject than Chumney. The tests are essay tests, and thus are hard, but if you study hard, you can do well. You should read the textbook in order to do well on the tests. There isn't really any homework other than emailing news articles

He really knows what hes talking about. The exams are hard, all essay. I usually studied about 2 or 3 hours per exam and made an A on each one. You should definetly know the powerpoints!! Class lectures are also very important. He weights participation heavily. Overall, a great class and definetly a teacher you should take.

Professor Chumney is a great Business Law teacher. At first I thought the course was going to be really hard, but the way he teaches makes the class fun. By him being an attorney, he gives real life examples and shows some funny videos on youtube. You only have 4 grades in the class(3 exams and attendance/participation) but I got a lot out of it

The subject is terrible, but Professor Chumney does his best to make business law entertaining. His test are tough and when you finish one, you will think you failed it miserably. However, he is a pretty easy grader.

I LOVED this class!! Chumney is awesome and he plays South Park and You Tube Videos. Being from his fav. class its hard not to like him. Prof Chumney is a kool kat. He's very flexible and helpful with the students. he explains things really well and his tests come straight from the notes. he usually gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect for his tests as well.

Good introductin to business law course. Expectations are very clear and reasonable. He doesn't require you to actually use the book, but I would insist you read it. His lectures are interesting if you like to debate and explore different types of law. All exams are completely essay, so you've got to make sure you are very prepared for tests.

Prof Chumney not only explains everything in extensive detail but his interaction and interest in the students makes a potentially fatally boring topic at least tolerable.He really does care about his students and can/will gladly answer any questions they may have.Not only does he know the subject matter thoroughly but he communicates it very well.

The class is hard, but Chumney explains everything well so there is little confusion. The tests come straight from the notes so study your powerpoints and take a Tylenol beforehand cuz your hand will hurt after all that writing. Don't worry about trying to decipher what he writes on your tests..your efforts are futile.

Prof Chumney expects a lot out of his students and encourages them to reach/exceed his expectations. His work wardrobe is a little sad but I gave him a chili pepper anyway. And besides a couple dry jokes he keeps the classes interesting.

I would definitely recommend this class to anyone, even if you're not interested in law. It's a good foundational understanding of the subject and presented in a cohesive manner.

Take this class. It's extremely helpful and Chumney makes it fun. The tests can really getcha if you let them but just study the notes and there's basically no way you won't Ace them. He values class participation and humor, so having both will forever land you in his good graces.

Great fun and interesting

He is amazing! So genuine and really cares about his students! He even made the effort to keep up with me and send me e-mails after I left his class! His tests are challenging, but there is no way to not make an A if you study and pay attention in class. There is no reason why you wouldn't want to pay attention in class- he makes is so interesting!

Awesome teacher! He explains everything in a way that makes so much sense! His tests are all essay based, but don't let that scare you because he does not ask anything that is not on the powerpoints (that are ALL available on Blackboard throughout the whole semester). Pay attention in class & study for tests- don't bother buying the book!!

Chumney is the man! I went into this class thinking it would be horrible. However, he made the potentially boring subject very interesting. Whatever you do, don't buy the book. He teaches off PowerPoints, and makes the class very interesting. There are only three essay format tests, so take good notes! Participation is also important, so speak up!

I enjoyed the class. The professor was a lot of fun. I was looking forward to going to class after work. The material itself could be pretty boring, but he managed to make it fun and interesting. Great experience!

Chumney is one of the few great things about Belmont I will remember as I transfer. The key to success is to print off his presentations prior to class and take notes ON TOP OF the pre-written material. Then, before each of the 3 tests re-write EVERY word of the notes and memorize. GUARANTEED A+. This is coming from someone who earned a 102.

Wade M. Chumney has done an impeccable job of conveying the material of business law to the entire class. He engages the entire class in relevant discussion and goes in depth with examples. With a great ability to relate examples to students, he has created a great classroom environment and I strongly suggest to take any and all classes with him.

Professor Chumney is a very well-spoken, knowledgeable, and approachable individual. He explains topics very clearly, and as long as you listen to what he says, follow along in class, and read the appropriate chapters in the book, you will be adequately prepared.

Laid back teacher. Cool guy. He changed the exam criteria to make it easier on everybody, not to be a jerk. I would take another course taught by him.

High Level Overview: 1)He's a nice guy, if we walked into my bar I'd buy him a drink no questions asked. He has a million dog-bite stories, and I'd pay to hear more. (if fact, if you count tuition, I already did). As a professor, he gets too hung up on exactly recording the hour, minute, and second each student contributed. Overboard!

Wade certainly garners mixed emotions. The good: Very likable guy, great stories, clear explanations. The Bad: Only graded assignment (14 page paper) is worth is 80% of grade, so it's a crap-shoot if you'll meet or miss his expectations. Other 20% is participation, but no feedback during term.

Professor Chumney is at CSUN now and I just took him. Fun class with two tests and a big paper due at the end, copy the few powerpoints he has for the tests as he doesn't post them on moodle. Should be relatively easy if you do this.
