In Mrs.Abed's classI just don't ever understand.I just hate my life when im in that class, and I pray for one of my tires to explode when going around a sharp turn.
would not recommend!! not organized with her teaching. hard to follow. hard to understand. although she is a nice lady her class is extremely difficult. she tries to help by giving take home tests but its normally too late to improve your grade by then.tests start off hard but got easier.dont think its going to prepare us for final the final tho
When I was in her class I tried understanding her but there was no use. She is unclear and when she was asked a question she was unclear about givibg the answer. If you are extremely good at math then take her if not then don't you will fail. I missed one day, even if you attend class you will come out feeling dumber then when you first came in.
Well. As a person she is very nice. But as a teacher she is uncomprehensible, has a very thick accent, and doesn't understand what people are asking. Her tests are ridiculously easy, but that's only if you get what she taught in class, which you won't. If I had not taken optional senior Algebra in HS I would have failed.
The lady is nice, I will give her that, but I feel like I am back in elementary class as far as level of difficulty goes. Some of the things she teaches is unclear. I also think the language barrier accounts for some of the students learning difficulties. If you understood formal algebra in HS, take the class. If you didn't, get another professor.
I did not like this professor. The entire class was very unclear to me and her emails on homework were never specific on when things were due. Also she does not reply to emails. she was rude, I felt she was offended by everything i asked in class. For example, if i asked how to do a problem, she freaked out!
honestly, these people may be over reacting. she does speak with a heavy accent but its nothing a trying to understand cant handle. she is hard to follow but only because shes a professor who you have to get used to. Also, her test are pretty easy if you pay attention in class.
Everyone seems to think that this professor is not good. I honestly think people are too judgemental. Her beliefs have nothing to do with how she teaches the class. She is passionate about what she does. The class is what you make it to be, so you earn your grade. She provided me with examples and a studyguide for tests. She was always available durin
She is very helpful. She is always available during office hours, provides studyguides and provide more than enough examples. She really cares about your learning experience.
Peolpe who think she is a bad teacher are dumb. She is wonderful. She is extremely helpful, and does her best to make class interesting. She is so sweet and not hard to understand. She has a great sense of humor. She is more focous on you understanding the material, than worring about your grade. I love her!
The teacher need to use less the book
She may be a nice person but that does not make her a good professor. She is very unorganized and does not keep to the schedule she sets. She changes her mind constantly on just about everything. She reads directly from the book when teaching (which is something I can do myself plus the book is difficult to understand).
She doesn't clearly explain the examples she works out for us and she combines alot of steps so that she confuses a majority of the class. If someone asks a question, she makes a huge ordeal about not being able to understand any of us and has that person repeat themselves over & over and speaking slowly so she can get what they are saying.
The final exam was supposed to begin @ 3:30. She took the first 5-10 mins. to rant about the poor comments she has recieved on this site. That is SO unprofessional. And she was taking up our time. Then near the end of time she was rushing us to turn in our papers when we still had about 6-10 mins. left. I needed every bit of time that was allowed
Professor Abed is excellent; she provides you with studyguides for all tests. And her tests are fairly easy. She provides examples from the book, and if someone does not understans, she provides simplier examples that she creates. Do not be discouraged by negative comments that people have left. Give an effort and you will get a good grade!
Wafa Abed is a nice person. but she doesnt know how to deliver what she is teaching to the class well. she does have a thick accent that also makes it hard to understand her. i would not recomend her for anyone. her grading schedule is strange and she is nice but her teaching is not
She is not as bad as everyone is making her out to be. I'm horrible in math and i still pulled a B. yes she has an accent but she is not totally incomprehensible. She gives her students opportunities to improve their grade and if you just go to her and talk to her she is willing to help you.
She is a wonderful teacher and not as bad as others are making her seem. She does have an accent, but you can understand. She tries to give a review/study guide before each test. You have to put forth the effort and pay attention. If you take the class seriously and are willing to try, you will pass.
Despite what other students say, Professor Abed is a very helpful and intelligent teacher. She is by far the best teacher I've ever had, due to the fact that she understands what she's teaching, and understands how to help students understand it in a very logical way.
Let me first say that I like her as a person just fine. However, you must know how to teach yourself the material. She reads straight from the book but is not that great when it comes down to interpreting the book, leaving most of the teaching up to you and the math lab. Do your MY MATH LAB everyday if you have to take her. It is the only way out.
are you kidding me? if you have any trouble with math at all, do not take her. plus she makes you do math lab homework. very time consuming and hard.
She was a really good teacher. If you are lazy and don't do the homework though, you'll screw yourself over. Just do the mymathlab and you will be perfectly fine. She's also really helpful
She isn't as bad as everyone makes her out to be. Granted, it was unprofessional to talk about this site during the final exam, but she was clearly hurt by people's comments when she so obviously wants us to like her and think she's helpful. She's very smart and tries her best. I passed this class with a B and didn't even buy the book.
horrible, horrible, horrible teacher. she treats you like children, and is so unbelievably terrible at teaching. don't listen to the reviews that praise her. you will be so annoyed by her, her online homework, and her terrible method of grading your test. awful woman.
Very boring!! she is hard to understand and very strict at times! on the flip side she is easy if you pay attention.... my advice is do not take her! or if you do you must have a lot of patience!
Professor Abed is a nice lady who wants to see her students succeed. She expects you to try and put the effort forth. Like most math teachers, she is from a different country and a different culture, so a lot gets lost in translation, misconstrued as a rude personality, but she truly cares and wants you to do well. Brilliant, great curve on tests!!
My Math Lab is the only part aboutthis class that I did not think was beneficial, but it's not her decision to assign it, it is the departments. So be patient and just do the work. She is always open to questions and taking time to answer during class as well as outside. She is a REALLY GREAT TEACHER.
Awesome teacher. I enjoyed taking this class. I sailed through it without stressing. I had her Fall 09 and if you pay attention you can make out what she is trying to say, plus she even draws diagrams so get a grip on everyone who is complaining. If you need help raise your hand or talk to her after class... there's a reason for office hrs.
She loves her students. She does TRY, so if you at least pretend like you care, then she'll fall all over herself to help you out. She is difficult to understand sometimes, but that CAN be overcome. I'm horrible in math, but I still made a B.
if you can learn on your own then this is a easy grade....if not find some1 else!!
I honestly tried in her class, but she made it impossible. It's hard to understand her (not to mention she refuses to slow down- even when asked) and she is very cynical at times. I left early on... I will definitely choose someone different in the spring and I recommend the same for you.
She is a very kind teacher, who helps the students as much as she can. She is always available during her office hours. If you do the homework, practice problems in the text book, and show up to class, you should pass.

I absolutely hated the class because of Wafa. I LOVED math prior to taking college algebra and I always made A's and B's. Every time I went into class, I thought everything was SO easy but when it came to the exams, I was so confused because of the way she worded the questions. She DOES make you do mymathlab online and it is awful. dont take her!
Teacher treats students like they are little kids!! Only have 3 major test of which one will be dropped. Isn't very nice when missing a test. Some students were told there was no makeup test bc "she didn't want to spend 3 hrs proctoring students". Does give bonus points 2-3 pts on test sometimes but thinks that a D is good!! I wouldn't take her again.
Though she did try to make the class as easy as she could, she had a hard time making the information understandable for her students. She will go out of her way to make sure extra credit is given, however I found that the extra credit didn't do me much good. She makes you do the webassign online homework, which was a nightmare and takes hours.
She tried hard to do a good job of teaching. However, she can not understand most things the students asked, she is very smart and assumed we were just as smart as her, she also was very blunt and rude to students for getting questions wrong. She did reduce the amount of homework given to us and her test were challenging. I wouldn't take her again.
I dont understand why people are making her out to be crap. She's very smart at what she does and teaches it very well. We are college students and should already know what she's talking about. The students complaining need her to hold their hand. Its college! She teaches fast but other than that, i think she is a great teacher! Tests are easy!
she is helpful and is cery smart. sometimes she is a little unclear with how to do something but if you attend class, do your homework, and try, she is very understanding. i got an A.
Her teaching style was very unclear. And when you asked questions she wasn't very clear about giving answers. And her grading scale is very weird. I do not recommend her for 1113.
This woman is really sweet! She cares a lot about her students. Pls, don't listen to the negative and rude comments mentioned about her, he is really understanding. I love the way she teaches. She's very clear and funny. She drop your lowest grade on everything. Very thorough and precise with her work. An easy A if you listen in her class.
it is true that she is nice and really cares abut her students BUT she is not a good teacher she is extremely UNCLEAR you can barely understand her and the way she grades is stupid. im not making her out to be a bad person just a bad teacher if you ask her a question she turns rude because she teaches as if you should already know DO NOT TAKE HER!!
Good person, bad teacher simple as that.
This woman is a nice lady but is a terrible teacher.
At the start she was always laughing and having fun with us. Towards the end she stopped being easy to get along with. She can be hard to understand at times. But, she is willing to help you if you need it.
You can not understand this lady at all shes unclear about her topics and she teaches the section in the more difficult route that what is needed i would highly not recommend her as a Prof.
I took this class hoping it would be an easy A. I took calc in high school and did fairly well. I checked her reviews first but thought it wasn't that important since the subject was easy. I WAS WRONG! She makes things way too difficult. Don't ask questions. It will get you absolutely no where! Seriously, don't take her. Trust me
I loved having her as a professor. She does have an accent so it is difficult to understand what she is saying but she is more than happy to repeat it. Her lectures are organized which makes it easy to take notes. If you take notes, do the homework and pay attention you will have no problem passing the class.
I got an A from the class, but I pretty much taught myself
not a good teacher at all
Not good at explaining problems, difficult to understand.
Ms. Abed is a Great professor. always willing to help and Knows her material well. take Ms. Abed!
Greay Professor...recommend her for Pre calculus!!!!
Ilove the way she teaches. She's very clear and funny. She cares so much for her students. She drops the lowest grade on exams. Very thorough and precise with her work. An easy A if you listen in her class, do the homework.
GREAT TEACHER!! Lectures are always clear and concise & test are easy and straight to the point. If you study your notes and pay attention you will do fine!!!
I like Ms. Abed. she's really nice and gives you good notes. only takes attendance like 4 times. if you only study the notes, you'll make c's or so on tests so you need to read the book too to make good grades.
Great teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is wonderful. I loved her. I loved her teaching style. I highly recommend her.
This woman is really sweet! She cares a lot about her students. Pls, don't listen to the negative and rude comments mentioned about her, he is really understanding. I love the way she teaches. She's very clear and funny. She drop your lowest grade on everything. Very thorough and precise with her work. An easy B if you listen in her class.
I thought it was easy, because my high school teacher thought me well. But if she was the one who first taught me trig, I would had a hard time understanding, because she make it seem really difficult. she also goes over the materials too fast.
I loved her, she is very smart and funny.I recommend her.
I switched teachers as soon as I walked into class and heard her accent. I am not that good at math so trying to understand what the heck she was trying to say and understand her teaching was WAY too difficult. Don't take this lady.
Speaks with accent. Teaches what's easy for her to understand, no so much the student. If you have major question just go to the math lab! Tests are based off of the study guide.
She is a nice teacher but her accent makes it difficult to understand most of what she says. She doesn't give detailed notes like most teachers I've had so I spent a lot of time looking up info on the Internet. She gives hw but doesn't return it. I didn't like that b/c I like to know what I did wrong in order to improve. I wouldn't take her again.
Ms. Abed is wonderful. I strongly recommend her without a doubt.
She really expects you to learn things on your own, her accent has got much better and she doesn't use my math lab!
I love her class
ONE WORD EASY! She assigns homework every class & goes over homework questions before you turn it into her if you don't understand how to solve them. her quizzes and test are based off of study guides or questions she cover in class. She has an accent but its not hard to understand.I enjoyed her so much i decided to take her again
Professor Abed goes through the material very quickly. You will probably struggle in the class if you don't have some sort of basic understanding of the material she teaches. I'm a pretty attentive student and it was still difficult for me to keep up with her. Other than that, she's very helpful and she really cares about her students.
Professor Abed made math very enjoyable and easy. Every day she goes over the homework before starting her lecture and doesn't stop until she knows that everyone understands the material. She makes study guides for every test and the tests are very easy if you do the homework. I highly recommend this teacher. She grades very fairly and lenient.
Mrs. Abed is an amazing teacher who truly cares for the interest of her students. She goes over homework everyday which makes my life 10 times easier. I would highly reccomened her!
She is a very nice person, and you can tell that she enjoys her job. I was placed in a class above 1113, but decided to take this one anyways, so it was more like a review for me so I found it easy, however, if you had not known about the topics before hand, it would be pretty difficult because she is not very good at explaining things well.
Her accent can get in the way at times, but overall she is a pretty good professor. She will explain things if you are lost on the material. She is really nice so don't be intimidated. I would recommend going to the math lab if you need further assistance and she isn't available.
Abed is a good instructor. She will assist if asked but she does not appear to be very efficient at time management.3/4 of class time was used to cover homework assignments and would frequently skip lessons in order to avoid going over in time. Again, good professor, work is fairly easy you just need to pay attention. Skips lessons though.
Very nice lady, has unrealistic views for non-Math majors. Anyone else will want to stay away.Gives 10 points for behavior(attendance, participation, attitude) I never missed class turned in all homework and answered a few questions and she gave me a 6/10. Seems to be very unorganized and has no idea if you are in class or not, but thinks she does.
I didn't like this professor because she doesn't let us keep tests or homework, so how can you learn from your mistakes? Hand writes all of her notes then never posts them online. Shows up late constantly. Doesn't answer questions effectively. Grades weirdly. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR if you are bad at math.
very thick accent
She doesn't cover everything you need to do the homework assigned, so make sure you read your textbook. She does not stick to the syllabus. It says she doesn't give make up tests, but does. She didn't drop a test grade either. She doesn't give back homework, so you can improve. She is late and unprepared. Would not recommend.
Mrs. Abed is a great teacher who cares for the interest of her students. She goes over homework everyday . I would highly reccomened her!
She is an amazing professor. Her lectures are very organized. She provides so many opportunities for help with office hours. Take her!
Ms. Abed is intelligent and passionate about the success of her students. She gives study guides for tests which are incredibly helpful. I recommend her.
WONDERFUL PROFESSOR !
Ms. Abed is passionate about her students' success. She gives study guides for tests which are similar to the tests. Lots of homework but it's for your benefit.
Wafa is an okay teacher. Her accent is hard to understand at times. She also gets confused and only knows one or two names in the class. If she knows your name, anytime something doesn't go the way she wants, she will call your name. Homework is graded and attendance is a grade.
professor abed was a good professor. At first it was hard to understand her because she has an accent. She gives study guides and the study guides are just like the tests!
professor abed was a good professor. At first it was hard to understand her because she has an accent. She gives study guides and the study guides are just like the tests! go to her office hours!!
Got a B with minimal studying. Lacks stronger sense of authority in the classroom, allows students to get out of hand. Accidentally gave students the wrong final letter grades.
She's very straightforward, and all of the homework she assigns is out of the textbook, so make sure to get it because you'll actually use it! She is a pretty good professor. I wish I had her the first time I took MATH1111.
She gives amazing study guides. A little bit stern, but amazing professor and she is lovely if you get on her good side. Fantastic class, would recommend.
Pretty good teacher. Make sure to be on time to her class! The study guides are exactly like the test. Sometimes it's hard to understand her because of her accent.
She is very rude and talks to students like they are stupid. Seems annoyed with questions. Would not take her again. However if you just do your homework and pay attention in class you will pass. Just try to get a new teacher
Easy professor! she explains things well, and gives great study guides. The class is very straightforward and there are no surprises.
I've always been really good at math so I didn't have a problem with the class. I took it online and it was 100% on MyMathLab, which I really like. You can do the homework as much as you want so you can get a 100% and get a few tries on the test. She didnt do much teaching as it was all online, but there were PPTs if you needed it.
Empty syllabus was the biggest issue. I didn't know when something was due until after it was due. Given poor descriptions of the assignments. Asked to put your answers in a non-American form.
She is very hard to understand and is extremely rude. She gave me a zero on a test because she accused me of cheating... I made a 86 on the first test, a 94 on the second, then she gave me a zero when my actual grade was a 92, and I made a 88 on the final. I finished the class with a C because of the zero. I only did good bc I took the class in hs.
Wafa was tough for me because Ive always sucked at math. She uses mymathlab homework and boy is it a lot sometimes. We only had one quiz and 4 test. She makes a study guide that is ALMOST identical to the test. But beware. She will sneak 1 or 2 problems on the test that werent on the study guide. Memorizing the study guides are key.
I would take her again and again and again.
Great, straightforward professor. Her exams are basically just the study guides so study and know how to do the problems on there and you'll do fine. She's sweet and actually has a great sense of humor. I'd def recommend
Math isn't my strongest subject, but she is very willing to help you if you have any questions. You don't have to buy the book because it's the same info in lecture and the course is homework heavy, which is more than enough practice. The study guides are similar to the exams. She has a good sense of humor and I'd definitely take her again.
If you arent proficient in math and algebraic concepts overall, she isnt the professor for you. Tests too short and are returned with zero feedback. If you fail one test you have automatically earned yourself a C overall, so theres no room to improve. This is why she tells her students to drop if they fail the first exam. Absolutely ludicrous.
Wonderful professor. Really makes sure that the student understand what they are learning, and offers help. 10/10 would recommend.
Professor Abed is a nice lady. English is not her first language, so you must speak loud and clear.
Professor Abed is an amazing professor. She makes sure that you understand the topic and the course itself is easy as long as you go to class, do the homework and give her the respect she deserves.
This professor definitely knows what she's talking about. She just doesn't do a good job at teaching the material. Also, the tests would be way more difficult than what we learn in class.
I suck at math but I made a B which isn't too bad. At first I thought I would hate the class but she's pretty good at teaching and as long as you do the MyMathLab homework and study for the tests, you should be good. Not the best prof I've had but definitely not the worst. She's not lenient at all with your grade though. You make what you make.
I cried every day because of this class. She definitely knows the material but I think forgets that we dont know the material. Homework took 2 hours min every night, zero feedback, you must study and teach yourself if you didnt 100% understand the material for the day. Everyday is something new; never reviews previous material; veryyy quick pace
She is disorganized, gets confused about the dates for our assignments, and assigns homework over material that wasnt reviewed in class even though it was stated in the beginning of the semester that she would not assign homework that wasnt talked about in class. These are not even all of the issues that occur and has an attitude with students.
If youre not good at math this is not the professor for you. She has a thick accent and Doesnt thoroughly cover the material. You take 3 exams and few pop quizzes. I failed The first exam and she told me the best I could Get was a d so I dropped It. Not a good professor at all and very rude. Try another professor and earn yourself an easy A.
Do not take her class. She is very hard to understand, does not make any thing clear, and at times seems directionless at times. She can be very rude with students and gets impatient with them very quickly. The syllabus means nothing so dont follow it at all and if you take her class good luck :).
Unfortunately one of the worst I have ever had and I mean this in a nice way. Won't help students and her teaching makes the subject harder then it really is. Her patience is non-existent and can be very rude.
Fast pace. No extra credit. Lots of HW. Self teaching. If you ask her a question she makes you feel inferior to her. She knows her criteria well, but doesnt understand we as students dont know it as well as her. Gives study guides- she adds problems from previous exams on new exams. If you are not good in math, do not take her.
I think a lot of these reviews are a bit harsh. Although she was super rude to students sometimes, she knows what she's teaching. She also has a thick accent so sometimes its hard to understand her. She's also a bit strict. I would not take her unless you have a good understanding of the subject already.
She does not lecture and youre basically told to rely on tutors and yourself to learn the material. There are many tests that will determine your grade not the actual final exam. She is also very hard to get in touch with snd she never shows up to her office hours.
This class was online and asynchronous so we never met with the teacher. She never responded emails and on the rare chance she did, she was rude and dismissive towards students. We had to teach ourselves all of the material for the course and she didn't help us at all. Don't take this teacher.
I didnt enjoy having her as a professor. She lectures the material as if your already supposed to know it. When you ask her questions she has an attitude and instantly makes you regret even asking her. She belittles students which is not okay. I would only recommend her if you can grasp on math material on your own other than DONT TAKE HER.
I had Professor Abed for College Algebra. My class was online so I didnt get to speak to her face to face like most of the other reviewers. Though, I believe that she is very understanding and replies to emails in a great time frame. There are many homework assignments and quizzes but they are due at the end of each week. I would take her again!
If you are very new to Algebra or havent taken it in high school do not take her. She is very rude to students when they ask questions and hard to understand. Ensure to give your full attention to her lectures. The tests are similar to the study guides. If algebra was easy for you in high school. you will pass.
You just have to catch her vibe and youll be good. She gives lots of hw and is fast paced so I would not recommend if you dont already know college algebra. She has an accent but it very clear and expects the same for you. She does not put up with rudeness though.
Great math professor. If you need extra help outside of class she will give it to you. Tests are pretty basic and easy. The only downside to her is the mymathlab homework every other day. Takes a while to do and the problems usually get pretty difficult but its worth taking her because her test are easy. Very personable teacher as well.
Abed is a good choice if you're already good at algebra. Pretty fast-paced teaching style. Her tests were short and similar to the study guides. If you respect her, she'll respect you. Don't have phones or laptops out, she'll call you out. I think she's a solid choice. Her English is very clear too.
Professor Abed was definitely one of the more difficult professors Ive had. She flies through content and doesnt welcome very many questions. I dont doubt shes a good person, but she most definitely has a mean and judgmental side
One of the worst professors ive had thus far. Originally my class was in person then she switched it to online ( which was not something i wanted to do or i would have signed up for an online math class). I would NOT RECOMMEND taking this professor. very rude. i recieved a lot of false absences and unfair grades for test as well. 0/10.
Made things clear to understand, if not, she was always open to further discuss whether at the moment, during her office hours, or online. Very passionate about her work and the students learning. Funny and caring.
Although she is the rudest professor, I have... man can she teach. She might give you a stank look if you ask a simple question, but she will go far to help you understand. Reteach it. Give examples. Let you teach it back. whatever you need- overall great professor not so much the best person.
Ms. Wafa is a great professor to take. the homework amount allows you to grasp the material she teaches before being tested on it. She is hilarious in class but wants the entire class to participate. I would highly recommend taking her as a professor
Very snarky and expected us to go in already knowing the material before each class. Be prepared to teach yourself.
She was okay, but I did not enjoy feeling intimidated by someone at 9 am. Make sure you pay attention and do the practice problems in class because she likes to come around and check. She will happily exclaim mistakes you make out loud for the class to hear. Nothing beats the satisfaction of getting a "bravo" from her though.
-10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! I showed up a month late due to family reasons; she shows no empathy. She said, " I didn't have to keep you in my class, I could've dropped you" She's nice in office hours then weird after. If you take her class, be prepared to stand on your own. The website you'll use for your homework won't actually help your grade.
I took this professor for both Math 1113 and pre-cal however her pre-cal class was extremely difficult and when emailed for help either never got a reply or waited weeks for one. I had to constantly email her to get a reply and when trying to withdrawal from her course took pulling teeth to get her signature. 0/10
I don't think she is nearly as horrible as these reviews are making her out to be. Yes, t can be a tough course for some, but you need to put in the effort. A lot of these reviews seem to be from students who want everything handed to them and won't work for a good grade. This is college now. She will respect you if you give her respect back.
I will say that she can teach math, but she is a little mean if you don't understand. She always seemed irritated and she was very strict. She didn't really review after we were taught a lesson, she just moved on, so you will have to keep re-teaching yourself.I wouldn't retake it, nor recommend it to someone.
I think she was a good professor, although most people disliked her. She goes through her lessons pretty quickly and then gives you homework in order to practice the materials that you covered in class. She also teaches in a way that assumes you have a basic understanding of algebra, so as long as you put in effort you will be perfectly fine.
She doesn't actually care if you learn the material or not. She is super disrespectful to her students and other professors.
I had Professor Abed Fall of 2023, she was very rude needless to say. We used mymathlab for HW assignments that were due every Sunday it was challenging having to teach myself, and not much information was provided. I went to her office hours and she told me to go to YouTube if I needed help. She then proceeded to say "I don't use my brain."
Wafa is a harder teacher. She is very kind, but a tough person to please. It was hard being able to understand where we were int he lecture because she talks fast and moves on very quickly.. I fell behind very early and never could catch up. If you take her make sure to be able to study a lot and definitely go to her office hours!!
Teaches fast and she's mean on most days. Take my word..she's a difficult teacher.
Wafa is probably the rudest professor that I have had during my time at Augusta University. She doesn't explain concepts well. She would yell and laugh at me in front of the class, despite my efforts to participate and do my best. Do not take her if you care about your mental well-being.
Don't just Don't
Wafa is a tough professor who moves quickly through material. Engage in the lectures, use the free textbook, and leverage resources like unstuck study to stay on top of the concepts. Doable if you put in the effort, but don't take it lightly.
This professor was very hard to work with and very rude. We went through a pretty bad hurricane and I tried to communicate with her that I didnt have internet to do some of the homeworks. She barely responded and never really gave me the chance to redo them. I ended up giving up. I asked her to reschedule final exam and she said yes then said no.
Wafa Abed is a horrible professor. She was very rude to me and my classmates and was somewhat disrespectful. There were very few times that she was okay. She went too fast during her lectures and made fun of the way we took notes, which makes no sense bc they're OUR NOTES. Her lectures are disorganized and hard to understand. I don't recommend.
Personally, she was not the worst professor. She is stricter and u need to be able to take some criticism if u take any of her classes, but I think that also can make you a better student. I don't know if I would take another class with her again though. But as long as you do as you're told and practice problems like the homework you will be fine.
The class itself was easy, but Mrs. Wafa is a slightly difficult professor. She can be rude if you give her a reason to be. She does not spoon feed the material. Pay attention in class, stay off your phone, and get to class on time. Don't take her comments personally. She is a sweet woman, but she is tough to please. If you know alg, you'll be ok.
Professor Wafa constantly yelled and laughed at my class, even making fun of us. I took Algebra for the past 4 years in High School, including College Algebra in my senior year, and I am able to excel in Algebra. I could NOT understand what she taught: her methods were confusing (and wrong) and she made homophobic comparisons in her teaching.
I loved her as a professor. She is very understanding and easy to approach. As long as you show up and do homework. This is a decently easy class. Math is not my best subject but she makes the class tolerable. If you are a decent student and go to class you will be ok.
She was alright. No webcam is needed for the course. You can turn in homework late for a late deduction but do not put it off until the last minute because she will not accept it at the end of the semester. Don't miss test reviews or test assignments.
Class wasn't too bad! It's all busy work. No webcam used at all! She did not really answer emails quickly- if she did at all. You do not get to see your overall grade until close to the end of the semester. It comes across as if she doesn't prioritize her online class though- this was clear from her introductory zoom.
A lot of people get onto her for not answering emails. Though she is very accessible in person and she had perfect communication once the hurricane went through. She can be sarcastic because its a part of her personality. She knows her math and will help you if you listen to her shortcuts and explanations. Very easy class overall.
Disrespectful. Very rude and speaks in a condescending manner. She rushes through the material and speaks to you as if you should know it already. Would not recommend.
Honestly as someone who already didn't understand much math I should have swapped professors due to her accent but she gave me some good laughs. She was fairly easy to follow in her lectures and very understanding when it came to the weekly homework .
She is not communicative and will not respond to emails, ever. Homework is mandatory, 30+ questions, 55 min on average. She flies through in class discussion, will not slow down, critiques your notes if they're not written how she would write them; makes you rewrite them. Unless you are 100% confident in your algebra ability, do NOT take her.
For her online classes, she always replied to my emails very quickly and was very helpful and polite. However, I had friends that took her in person and said she was very rude and her class was boring. I would take her online again.
She is a nice professor but her teaching style is a bit confusing. What I mean is she will elaborate in confusing ways, almost like half the stuff she says doesn't need to be said. I don't pay attention in class anymore because her lectures confuse me and really does not help me understand. But you know to each their own. I wouldn't recommend.
Very confusing teaching style, elaborates too much on certain things and it's hard to tell what is important to remember. Doesn't ever understand the questions I ask her, so I've given up on asking her questions entirely. Switched to online teaching halfway through and doesn't teach, she expects us to read halfway blank notes and teach ourselves.
She's not bad at teaching but she does call on you randomly, and makes snarky comments about you. she did a hybrid of online and in person for me, online = great, in person = terrible. the math isnt hard just get ready to learn it on your own.
She went online for more than half the semester, essentially forcing the class to self teach for almost the entire course. This wasn't a bad thing, as her teaching style is confusing at best and humiliating at worst. Don't dare ask questions, you will get snark in response. Keep your head down, do the homework, and pray you dont get cold called.
Overall, she is a mediocre teacher. It is hard to understand what is on the test because the tests/HW are not the same as what we discussed in class. She can make fun of students and can sometimes come across as rude. Don't recommend.
She tends to overexplain things to the point where I get confused myself. She sometimes looks at people's notebooks and critiques them. She assigns homework based on the online textbook, and often, it includes over thirty questions.
(2.5) I'm not sure I can rate Ms. Wafa fairly, as due to a family emergency she had to cancel her lectures for most of the semester, leaving us students to self-teach. From the lectures we did have, however, I can say that she goes off-topic a lot, but she's good at teaching when she can stay focused. She prefers talking in person if you need help.
