he is an ok teacher.. you can cheat in his class... he just gives a midterm and final... take some notes, read and you will do ok
So boring, and has a hard accent to understand. Is from Sudan. Short books, 2 tests..class average was a C
extremely boring.. has an accent.. hard to understand.. tests are very hard
Focusses his tests completely on the notes. Take good notes and study them and you will do absolutely fine on the mideterm and final. Make use of his office hours and participate. He is a good professor.
Very hard teacher, test are very hard unles you studdy your ass off. Class in usally confused accept those who are really into the material. Average class grades very low, tought teacher and hard grader
easy teacher, come to class pay some attention then tell him why you werent able to study (surgery) and he takes that into account. nice person and if you get over his accent, a great teacher
Watch out for this guy: his tests are tricky. But otherwise a pretty decent chap, if a trifle dull.
He is not too bad. You HAVE to read the book, take lots of notess during class, even if you have no clue. I suggest re-reading the book sections, outline them, then rewrite your notes to coincide with your book outline.. that REALLY helps.. I got an A
I dont know why i took this class, the subject he teaches is really easy if it made sense, but no sense is made in his class. Not only does this class make any sense, one can barely understand him! BRING A PILLOW!
This professor is a very down to earth man. He respects his students a lot. He is also a good teacher, he does not like to repeat himself during class (but during his office hours he's very helpful). You can easily cheat in his class. He's a nice guy.
His accent does NOT make him difficult to undersand. If you have to take logic to satisfy methodoloy requirement, take him. Very, very intelligent and does a very decent job of making a tricky subject understandable.
Horrible. Worst philosophy prof at QC. Rude. Unclear. Sucks the life out of an interesting subject. Tarski is for grad students, not undergraduates.
HORRIBLE....one of the worst i've taken...I had 10 people in this class and 7 of us got D's very unfair
Beyond boring classes.. Accent -sometimes- makes it hard to understand him. Just read the pages he goes over a few times, and you should do fine.
where to begin!he is repetitive on one subject.it takes an entire class to get one point across, which still is not clear.jumps from topic to topic without clarity.accent not hard to understand but do not raise a complaint in class b/c temper is HOT! does not cover all material.do not recommend
I loved this class. You don't need to open the textbook! Just take notes in class and you'll be fine. His accent isn't bad at all! Made a hard subject easy to understand. I definately recommend taking this class.
Nice Guy and his accent does not make it hard to understand him. Ignore the text though, his test are about 90% notes. I learned this the hard way for test one but second test got an A.
Not such a bad buy, bad class though.Nothing against the accent but he moves the lessons on too fast.Has attitude bursts suddenly during the end when there were many questions asked about the final.Guess he was stressed about not finishing the lesson.Just read the text.
dont take
Terrible! The class was so boring! Prof is very unclear. It took him 3 hours to prove a point! Jumps from one topic to another and you get lost very easy! Do NOT take! Please, do not take! You'll suffer! VERY HHOOTT TEMPER!! DO NOT ARGUE!! Just do not take!
Worst professor I've ever had in my college career. I have thought about going to the department head to complain about him. How is he allowed to teach? His accent his difficult to understand, and you will learn absolutly nothing and then receive a bad grade. Change your class now.
honestly if I did better I'd probably have a different view but I busted my butt and got a mediocre grade so I think he's a bit unfair. I like the guy though. He's from Sudan.. smokes heavily.. and has long pauses where he goes "uuuuuuh." He was pretty civil though.. I give him a B-
do not take him. didnt understand a word he said, he cant talk english. his test were retarded the highest grade was a 54. he makes no sence and is really boring.
His class is boring, his accent makes him difficult to understand, and he catches an attitude when you question or disagree with him. I advise anyone to look for another PHIL 101 teacher.
The worst professor ever! The first time I read the comments by others students, I thought that he could not be that bad. So, I took his class anyway. Now, I regret it! It is NOT that he is a tough grader rather he does not know exactly what he wants you to write in his exams.
worst class ever, he's accent is not bad, but classes are so boooring, and he's hard grading, the best garde on the first exam was 25 out of 100 and there are only 2 examns, and there's no way to do anything to improve your grade, don't take him, he's not clear on what he wants
Nice person but extremely boring while lecturing, and for a class like that, makes it hard to take notes. has an accent from Sudan and takes long pauses in between his toughts, that according to some people, somehow connect ! Gives a curve at the end and if you study by yourself alot you might pass.
He is a horrible teacher. If you come to class and take really good notes, you will do well. His vocabulary is outrageous and it makes it even harder to understand him. He also stutters. His test are based on what he says in class. Reading the text is pointless, it will only confuse you. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!
DON'T TAKE HIM.
DEAR GOD DO NOT TAKE THIS GUYS CLASS!
"any questions? any comments?" i swear if he says that one more i'm gonna loss my mind. i know he's just saying that to make sure everyone understands what he's talking about but the problem is, is that hardly anyone in my class actually does understand what he's talking about. i feel bad for him though bc you can tell everyone can't wait till 255
Stay away, this guy's a nut. Don't let him intimidate you. I told him off to point out how stupid his grading method was. He didn't like it. You're better off not taking him
he made everything more complicated than it should have been. Do not take him he is confusing and doesn't teach jack.
"Uuuuuuuuuuh, Uuuuuuuuuuh, ehhhhh..." "Any Questions? Any Comments?" "Is this Right? Or is this wrr-... uuuh... wrrrong?" "This is only half a joke..." I swear man, what more do you want from Philosophy when he's basically confusing you... I know that's the basis of the class, but his he by far the worst... Sheesh... GET WITH THE PROGRAM!
let me start off by saying philosophy 101 is supposed to be a good, easy class. Because of this clown taha it was the complete opposite. I could go on and on but whats the point? DONT TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES-PLAIN AND SIMPLE-DO IT FOR YOUR OWN GOOD
If you take the time to talk to Taha, and he knows that you know the work, he will work with you. He did that with me. Read and comment, and if you don't do well, GO TO HIM!!
I TOOK HIM IN FALL 2005, ITS A PHIL. CLASS ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EASY, THE PROBLEM I NOTICED MOST CLASS MATES HAD,WAS THERE SINGLE DIMENSIONAL THINKING, ETHICS REQUIRES YOU TO THINK IN MULTIPLE DIMENSIONS, IF YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN LOGIC YOU WILL HAVE HELL IN THIS CLASS IT REQUIRES A TON OF CRITICAL THINKING NOT FOR THE SIMPLE MINDED OR EASLY FOOLED.
Ok, first off. If you are not ready to think hard and critically then DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. If you are not very interested in philosophy then his lectures will seem like hell to you. Usually I would look around and see lots of people with their heads down. You must have a good attention span for this guy. Hard grading on exams also.
horrible sucked bad terrible cant teach for his life...most professors are one or maybe two of those things but he's all of those things all in one!
He only grades u based on one midterm and final - which is HORRIBLE. This guy doesn't know how to teach and he confuses the heck out of you. If you ask him a question he ALWAYS answers something else, so you never get the answer you want. Very tough on grades because the ENTIRE class got like mid 20s-30s and he expects us to do better!!!
I agree that he is a difficult grader and he is sometimes hard to follow when he starts talking. However this IS philosophy. We have to think differently in this class. I always went to him and asked him about things I dont understand and believe me he IS understanding. I believe if he sees that you RESPECT this topic, he will respect you.
Intresting professor, Taha changed my way of thinking and helped me understand that u shouldnt not accept the status quo for the sake of face value. The most difficult time I experienced was learning to question my own belief, which is hard for any one. In conclusion, tahas course is like taking the blue pill, some will reject the truth others wont
Hard at first but very helpful..if you go speak to him he will help unlikes some professors. Dont get scared if u fail a test. Speak to him..any questions, any comments?? LOL
THis guy is a jerk. If you ask him any questions he makes you look bad and makes fun of you. He also never answers any questions directly
Worst teacher ever! Stay away from this man. If he's the only one teaching the course for the semester, then take this class some other time. I repeat - STAY AWAY! Theres 1 midterm, 1 Final - and a guaranteed FAILURE on both! Even if you study, read the book, go to class, pay attention and take notes - you will fail... end of story!
We didn't cover any material in the first two months, and then he had to postpone our midterm until the middle of November. 13 of 20 something students got below a 40% on the exam. And our grade is only based on the midterm and final. He refused to offer extra credit, and he only covered one new idea from one chapter til the final.
hmmm....honestly stay away but if u cant avoid it...he isnt that bad. he gives a really huge curve(i failed my first of two exams and still managed to pass the class)
STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN! If u want to screw up ur GPA, learn absolutely nothing & hate philosophy for the rest of ur life, then this is the class for u. If u ask him a question, 50% of the time u wont understand his accent and the other 50% of the time he'll answer a question that u didnt ask. Taking this man is a guaranteed F!!
STAY AWAY FROM HIM! HE'S THE HORROBLE PROFESSOR IN QUEENS COLLEGE! I UNDERSTAND HIS ACCENT, BUT HE DIDNT MAKE ANY SENSE. HIS MIDTERM AND FINAL WERE BOTH HARD. HE IS EXTREMLY BORING CAUSE HES BORING HIMSELF. ALMOST EVERYONE IN HIS CLASS, INCLUDING ME, FAILED HIS TWO TESTS. HE GETS MAD AND FRUSTRARED WHEN YOU ASK HIM QUESTIONS. AVOID HIM!!!!!!!
Stay away from this guy! You are bound to fail his midterm with a 20-30. Reading the book is pointless and he doesnt care about anyone
Great professor. He is patient and encourages questions. I HIGHLY recommend him.
This professor is impossible to deal with. We tried to give him constructive criticism and he told the entire class it was us and not him. All but 4 ppl failed his tests. When you ask a question, you are ridiculed. If you don't give exact specific answer he wants on test, you are marked wrong. Previous students of Philo even had major difficulty.
Nice guy but bad teacher. His grading system is impossible and his reasoning for it is unreasonable. Try to avoid taking his class if you want a decent grade.
hey listen u dont know me but i NEVER put the blame of failing on a teacher/professor. (because i nver fail) anyway this professor is like a spirit that decided to stay on earth and become a professor or torture STAY AWAY CAUTION AUTOMATIC FAIL worst teacher EVER!!
I always am apprehensive when i read the ratings because sometimes people are way off. I'd say the only person who was WAYWAY off is the one who said you'd highly recommend this teacher. He is without a doubt, horrible. I got a 7 on the midterm. A SEVEN! He gives no partial credit, you can't understand him, and he's horrible. SOMEONE FIRE HIM!
Very tough Grade Everyone gets low score and he puts grades on a bell curve. You must go to and pay attention to every class if you don't want to read the book.
He is by far THE WORST professor I've ever had. I am amazed by the fact that he is allowed to teach at such a well-regarded institution. I feel this way even though I got a somewhat decent grade in his class! ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON HERE ARE 100% CORRECT! If your objective in life is to mess up your gpa, take one of his classes.
Professor Taha is a harsh grader on the mid-term and final. The class, Intro. to Ethics, was boring (although attendance is definitely not mandatory). I went to just about every class, studied, took decent notes, and received a B as my final grade. Avoid him if you can, the class wasn't worth taking at all.
When he wasn't confusing the class, the class's questions were confusing him. He could not explain anything, was easily frustrated, and it was hard to understand what he was saying with his accent. He is a tough grader and looks for very specific answers on the midterm and final.
He gives a curve. a curve will not solve the problem. Philosophy should not be a night mare but for me it was.He doesn't like to teach that 's his problem.they should tell him something about his teaching.
a curve will not solve the problem. Philosophy with him is a night mare, i advise waking up early. He doesn't like to teach.
OMG WORST PROFESSOR EVERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!He is a nice person but impossible to pass, one person got above 50 on his midterm. Boring, confusing and very difficult. Stay away>>>>>
He can't teach to save his life. He is unclear and useless. He's a tough grader and the whole class is based on a midterm and final. His class is extremely boring and none of the material makes sense. The book is no help either. 1 person passed the midterm after the curve with a 65 - everyone else failed miserably. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
It's a hard class, because he is difficult to understand. But if you go to every class and write down everything he says, you can do well. Everything is straight from the notes and he repeats himself a lot. As long as you jot down everything and study, you'll pass.
I think he is a great teacher. He needs to be a bit more specific however. Any helpful hints for the midterm/final? I'm so confused1 He is a really nice guy, its just his way of teaching is not what we are used to. He needs to give more notes in class. It takes patience and time to deal with this class, but its worth it, its a good challenge.
He is the WORST professor ever. I want to save his future students from the pain I am currently going through. PLEASE OH PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM. You WILL fail and you will regret it. I think it's about time he retires. WORST TEACHER ON THIS EARTH. HE DOES NOT CARE IF WE PASS OR FAIL. I HATE HIS CLASS SO MUCH!
i would not recommend professor taha. he does not explain clearly, nor does he accept any answers on tests other than his exact words. most people failed the midterm (tba what we will get on the final); i hated his class. he speaks poor english and blames his lack of ability to explain on the students. dont take his class if you want to succeed
He's confusing and it is pointless to ask him questions or answer his. However, if you go to class, take any notes you can, and read the textbook to help clarify the content, you can get a good grade.
Honestly, he's not so bad if you take good notes and study those notes VERY WELL. My friend and I spent 2-3 hrs each week studying for his exams, exchanged/updated the notes so we were on the same page and we both ended up getting As. He might be hard to understand but for those of you who must take him, just take GOOD notes and you'll do well.
He is the worst teacher, he has an accent so you can't understand anything he says and he doesn't explain anything. not a fair grader because if your answers arent in his exact words you get it wrong and he asks the same questions worded differently so if you don't know one thing chances are you are going to get it wrong more than once
WARNING: If you don't want to ruin your GPA, then I strongly suggest that you DON'T take Professor Taha. Horrible, heavy accent. Poor/unfair grading system. If you don't answer ques. on the tests in his Exact Words, then he'll mark it wrong. Stay Away!
Please listen to me do not take this class! He is so hard and will ruin your GPA. I got all A's and 1 C guess who the C was from? After asking around I found out that he gave 95% of the class a C. His tests are not based on what he teaches. Youre basically on your own
I really liked him, yes he can be boring at times, but if you pay attention, take notes and do the readings (and there really isn't much)you should be fine. His tests are based on exactly what he says in class.
Yes it's boring, but if you go to class and take GOOD notes you'll be fine. His tests are based on exactly what he says in class. Make sure you do the readings too! If you don't want to do any work and are looking for an easy A take another professor..
Went into this class expecting a different professor and the professors got switched around. did horrible on the midterm, studied like crazy for the final, felt confident, answered some Q's in his exact words and still got a D. Amazing. Clearly, something is wrong here.
Confusing, misleading, impossible. Attempts to engage students in dialogue, but fails miserably. Tests are impossible. At best, boring. AVOID.
I had a very hard time organizing what he was saying because he talks in riddles and goes off on tangents often. Unless you write exactly what he wants on his exams, he takes off a lot. The class is seemingly easy with only a midterm and a final, but they are impossible to do well on and he is completely not fair about it.
He is boring. He is a very strict grader. He does not prepare his students for his exams. Yes if you take GOOD notes and read the book you should be able to pass the class. I honestly didn?t learn much from his class and the book was a hard read. He does not teach the class as a 101 class. I would stay away from his class if at all possible.
He is a gentleman...has an orthodox way of teaching...buttering does not work with him...the golden rule to get good grades in his class is:-- "write notes and in exam write exactly as per his notes"...ask questions...not a lot though...accent is not a big prob....if you are disciplined, good grades are possible
Class is easy, but he takes a lot of points in the exam if you don't answer the way he wants it.
First off I'm not going to tell you to take him or not I participated the most out of my class not that it matters since he doesnt know our names referring to students as "your colleague" He doesnt care about attendance only thing that matters to him are the 2 test grades(midterm&final) he doesnt give a review or even tell you what it's on Godspeed
He is a tricky professor. He has a midterm and final that are hard. His English is fine...just pay attention. On his exams, you have to write exactly what he says in class. IT'S CRUCIAL! The midterm is duable bc it's on basic concepts..the final is tough because it applies the concepts on extensive topics. Be prepared to go to EVERY CLASS!
This professor is not bad. The course is not easy and it is possible to do well. he is interesting and will answer questions to the fullest of his ability.
There were only two grades (midterm/ Final) The majority of my "colleagues" failed the midterm and probably the final. I had no idea what was going to be on the tests until I took it. Nice man but its hard to understand when he's teaching and when he's rambling. Don't take him.
Grade is two exams, midterm and final. Take intense notes because his exams are largely based on lecture. I winded up doing well in the course because it was graded on a curve. I put in a lot of effort and made a point to talk to him outside of class. If you have no interest in philosophy, this is not the class to take for a requirement credit.
When you ask a question, he answers you with a question and ends it with "ask yourself". Not at all helpful. He wants all questions to be answered the way he would, which is impossible, bc he tells you to ask yourself! Take him if you want. You'll be disappointed at the end of the semeter.
Very difficult professor. Nothing he says makes any sense regarding the subject of philosophy. I dreaded going to this class 2 times a week and the hour dragged on for what felt like a day. The grade is based on the midterm and final which are both the same format and confusing.I am very annoyed that I took this class and don't recommend him at all
Okay guys... It's a Philosophy class, so when he asks questions, and you respond, he wants you to THINK and not directly give answers, in regards to terms, clearly explains them, & has office hours if you need help. I got an A+ in his class, I was surprised, but I always participated even if I'm wrong. THINK! The whole point of philosophy.
His teaching style can be confusing and the material is already abstract in itself, but if you really reach out to him and express your concern for a good grade, he will work something out with you. A really nice guy, just a tough grader.
A really sweet old guy. I'll admit he has a heavy accent but it's not difficult to keep up with. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want to receive a good grade I suggest you show up to class each day and listen to the lectures. Takes notes on everything he writes on the board. Only one midterm and one final (fair) I received an A in this class
He teaches slowly and goes over previous topics. Must be respectful and alert because his lectures are important. Take a lot of notes on what he says. If you study your notes well and listen in class you will do great.
Professor Taha is a very kind and calm person. The way he teaches can be very difficult to understand but if you read the book and listen you will do fine. Show him you want to do well and he will take time to help you. TAKE LOTS OF NOTES!
Got an incomplete. Let me write two papers in order to make up the work. Ended up getting a C-. At the end I stopped attending the excruciatingly long morning classes and I didn't read the book, and b/s 'd my way through the final. Just don't take this professor if you have any interest in philosophy. He will just confuse you instead of engage you.
Worst professor, does not give a review sheet and expects students to know the material. He is so confusing and half of the class slept in his class. Stay away!!!!!!
STAY AWAY. There are SO many other philosophy professors who are better to take. Lectures were ALRIGHT. First PHIL course at queens and it almost discouraged me from taking any more. I'm now a proud philosophy major, no thanks to his class. Went to his office after semester was over and the girl before me was crying for X-Crd but he wouldn't budge.
Pay attention to his definitions because he hates the textbook definitions. Ignore any answers in class to questions because that will confuse you. Your best bet is to learn all the problem solving aspects from the book because he's terrible at teaching. He grades at a weird curve where 60 = 80 and so on. Avoid if possible
Just read and take notes. Your life would be simple. but try not to fall asleep.
He is a kind man, but tough grader. He curves the grade in exams. Make sure to take good notes and read the book. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you don't understand something. Visit him during his office hours to clarify anything you don't understand. He is very helpful.
Logic is a curious thing, and Taha makes it easy for those who are willing t pay attention. For people who know anything about logic, this class will go slow for you. After an entire semester we barely got to things like Modus Ponens, which should be covered in about two weeks. He's goes nice and slow, but that's only good if you can't keep up.
He is honestly a very nice guy but he isn't always the easiest. His exams are all short answer. Be prepared to take good notes because that is honestly all that will help you pass. Just write down everything he says and be prepared to regurgitate it back on the exams.
Okay so he might have a heavy accent but he's a good guy. He's willing to explain to those who need the help. He has 2 test(midterm and final) and his grading policy benefits the students. He chooses the highest grade and makes that the 100 and bases every other test on it. Go to his lectures, take notes, and you're good to go in his class
Must take notes, don't miss class you will miss a lot. everything in the text is unclear so you need your notes.
-Gives a Midterm and Final, you honestly don't even have to read the book unless you want clarification, the exams are solely based on what he says in class. If you pay attention and just repeat his exact words on the exam you will be fine. he grades on a curve so an 80 is an A+. He will reexplain things for you if you ask.
very boring, beware dont take him.
Don't take this class. Worst class of the semester. I always dreaded going here. He's a nice man, but that is not beneficial to the class. HE IS INCREDIBLY BORING. Please take another class unless you want to be miserable and want to fail.
I didn't atend all of lectures .Attednce doesn't matter .Mudterm and final is easy it's comprised of multiple short and essay .Which are prety easy if u study before the exam .He is not very demanding .His lectures are interesting also This class teaches good stuff about society different forms of government and human mind .
Attend, participate and pay attention to every lecture to take the necessary notes that is used for the midterm and final. No assignments which means you can focus on other classes, but do study those notes for the 2 exams.
He is clearly passionate about the subject but lectures tend to be boring and irrelevant to the midterm and final exam. He has a heavy accent in my opinion which kind of prevented me from absorbing most of his lectures. No homework or in class tests other than the midterm and final.
Literally the worst professor Ive ever had. He will leave you perplexed the entire time without any idea what to study or expect on exams. On top of everything being a surprise he is a very tough grader.
His accent is very strong. He also speaks very slowly. You may find his class boring if you're not actually interested in Philosophy. Be prepared to be frustrated with him. With that being said, he is caring, knowledgeable on the subject matter, and is quite fair. As long as you participate in lecture his class is an easy A.
Wagdi can get frustrating when it comes to answering your questions. Take NOTES verbatim as his tests are based on them. Graded by midterm&final. No homework. Textbooks are optional and inexpensive. Take notes on concepts and criticisms rather than the examples he gives in class. His accent may be too strong so beware. TAKE NOTES! tough grader!
doesn't use his email so can only talk in person. no homework. only the midterm and final. go to lectures for his words to use in tests otherwise you fail. the books help a lot if you don't show up like me. defensive about questions asked about his statements. has an accent so sometimes it hard to understand but good enough.
He is a nice person but I would never recommend him to anyone because you will not learn anything. Do your self a favor and get a different teacher.
This professor is TERRIBLE! He is very monotone, has a thick accent that is sometimes hard to understand. There are never class discussions because if someone does state their opinion on a topic discussed, he will most likely say," No that's not necessarily true" or laugh at your answer even though philosophy isnt abt being right or wrong. -2/10
His lectures were unclear and nobody had any idea of what to expect on the tests. He gave a midterm and final with long answer questions all based on the lectures and some from the book. Make sure take notes, do the reading, and spit back the information and you should be fine. Scores were so bad, he curved my test score of a 58 to an A.
nice guy but please don't take this class or at least HIS class. no one understood what was going on the whole semester, very boring, unclear, and notes didn't even help. tough grader too
I had him for Philosophy 101, and I assumed the class would be light I WAS WRONG. He waited pretty much the entire semester to tell us what our 3 papers were to be based on. I believe we got this information in early November. Not to mention, he was pretty vague in his description of what he wanted the papers to include. Avoid taking this prof.
He is horrendous. Horrible at communicating. Only gave a final assignment at the end of the semester with the most vague directions ever and no rubric. Class was optional but when I attended I could barely understand a thing he was saying. I would never in my life take him again or recommend him to anyone. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Please avoid
Refused to tell us what the three essays that made up the entirety of our grade were on till the end of the semester, so we could only work on them at the end. Gave no templates or specific criteria on what the essays should be like. Gave most of the class awful grades with zero feedback given. Luckily I was able to change my grade to "credit".
Dont take this class, you are just wasting your time and money. At the end of the semester you have to write 3 essays based on notes he sends you and 2 books you have to read. Then, you have to send those essays to HIS home address because as he explained, for the documentation.
Do yourselves a favor and do not sign up for this man class. I wasn't getting emails since he didn't add me to the email list and it took him 10+ replies to finally send me the material since he wanted to argue with me. You get 3 essays at the end of the year which I didnt get the material for until a month before.... Just don't do it not worth it.
emailed lecture notes every week and barely responds to emails. even if you join the zooms, it's hard to understand him and they're not even helpful. the whole course is graded off of 3 essays that he gives the topics on like less than 2 months before the due date. he wants you to PHYSICALLY mail the essays to his house and mostly gives out C's.
Do not take this professor's class. You are graded on 3 essays that are due at the end of the semester. He gives you the essay prompts 4 weeks before the semester ends. He gave 90% of my class C's and C-. He is very rude, and can't teach. Please look at the ratings below, so you don't allow your GPA to drop as well.
He made us mail the essays and is very rude when asked questions
I asked him a simple question and he was so rude and basically saying oh did you like not read the book, where is there not to understand. Like I obviously emailed to get clarification but he came off so rude.
This professor has got to be the worst professor I have ever taken. He makes you mail his essays physically, and despite your hard work, he will most likely fail you anyway. He doesn't even care to give you helpful feedback. He just doesn't care about his students succeeding. I DO NOT recommend him to anyone.
Steer clear of this professor! RUN. He gave most of the class a C and only one or two people an A-. He is beyond rude and requires students physically mail papers via the United States Postal Service. Do not bother with this professor. I should have read the reviews before taking the course. Take any other PHIL 101 professor, and you will be fine.
This guy is just not good, it's crazy how much disrespect you can get from him for just asking a question. only three things to be graded on and you have to mail in your papers. Just avoid him at all costs. didn't know what I was getting into. The class didn't have him labeled and now I'm stuck with this overly complicated professor.
i took this guy last year but i remembered i need to warn you all of him. he's difficult to understand and rude so there's no point in going to class. you're graded on 3 essays which you need to PHYSICALLY MAIL and he gave topics a month before. He gave 90% of the class a C-. DONT TAKE HIM. RUN.
Such an awful professor. Phil 101 is an async online course. My paper is 100 based on the class reading and he said my paper is off-topic with outside sources. I am quiet confidence with my writing skills and I have a good understanding of the readings so I don't understand why I'm receiving bad feedback.
Yes if you read the previous reviews he makes you mail the papers which is ridiculous. He's a tough grader who labels your papers to be "off-topic" when they are based on his lectures. However on the bright side the class only is graded on three papers which he assigns a month in advance. Cant complain because it was stress-free and an easy B.
Professor Taha's PHIL101 class can be a real challenge. While he's a nice guy, the course structure is vague and the grading is tough. However, using resources like Unstuck AI along with the free textbook can help you navigate the three essays and earn a decent grade. Just be prepared to stay engaged and put in the work.
