Great professor! He is so nice and he really wants you to learn. He is very prepared for class and you should do the same. He's new at CSUF but I would recommend taking him for sure.
This class covers a TON of material. Accounting is already a very difficult subject and he covers approx 8 chapters on one exam. No cheat sheets. Your grade is based purely off of exams and one writing assignment. HW optional but do it. Do not take him! RUN AWAY FAST AS YOU CAN! He talks way too fast and does not teach the material well!
This professor was great. He is so nice and friendly, and he knows his material well. It is not an easy class by any means because he covers a lot. But then again, what accounting class IS easy? If you do your homework and knows what you're doing in your homework, you should be fine on your exams.
This professor doesn't know how to teach student. His teaching style is very confusing and you will be lucky to get C on exams even you study really hard. Avoid if you care about your grade.
There are too much material to cover, homework is not required, attendance is not mandatory. He is nice and willing to help, but if you wanna pass, take other professors
the class itself is hard, and the professor is very helpful. He tries to make it easy.
take him, you will be fine, there is no C- on his grade, lot of extra credits, and he does a curve also
easygoing even the class is hard itself.
he has accent but you will be fine. Take him, 2 exams, 1 final, and that's it. tons of extra credit, and he does the curves too.
He's is a very good teacher. He has an accent when speaking but if you listen to his explanation, take note, and study the materials (both from books and slides), you will be fine. There are 3 tests, 1 final, and 1 paper. The paper is the easiest assignment. If you follow the format and instruction, you will definitely get an A for the paper.
He is very kind and willing to help in the class if we ask specific questions. 2 midterms, 1 easy quiz, 1 easy paper, 1 comprehensive final. He gives lot of extra credit and curves the exams. Homeworks are graded through Wileyplus. Subject is very hard, but I recommend him.
3 exams and 1 easy term paper. The final exam was comprehensive, but he told us what to study. He is one of the best accounting professor I have ever had so far. He is friendly and willing to help student. The exams were hard because this is accounting. However, if you do all hw, study from books and slides, you would get A. Highly recommence :)
This acounting class is so much harder than 301A. Curves generously. Offers a lot of extra credit. Final deparmental exam was ridiculously hard! Do good on your first two exams and get all the extra credits. This will save you. Just because he does this doesn't mean you shouldn't study anything. You'll only suffer. Otherwise, take himmmmmm!
Tough class but he is super helpful! He is very organized which helps learning and he takes the time to explain in details. Go to his office hours, he will help you even more!
Professor Keshk is extremely nice and willing to help his students. Take him!
Great guy who's more than willing to be helpful. Offers a lot of EC for an upper-division Accounting course and the paper is graded leniently. Best take advantage because the department Final is brutal. Intermediate II will be difficult no matter who you take, but Keshk is the way to go.
BEST accounting professor at CSUF. He really cares about the students (unusual for accounting professor), and will spend as much time with you to help you understand. He is also pretty funny. I would def take him again.
Subject is difficult, especially when professor's exam are tricky and can be different from what's in the book/homework. Take advantage of homework and extra credit otherwise there will be a high chance to fail the class. He procrastinate on grading exams.
Don't let the ratings of this professor fool you. His exams are tricky even if you did all the hw. Gives lots of extra credit but you will still fail if you aren't reading the book at least twice to understand the concept. Lecture is 10% helpful, the rest is on your own.
He is very nice professor and caring about his students. The subject is not easy. But if you do HW and go to class, you will get a good grade. He gives a lot of bonus points and extra credit for attendance and curves exams. He is the best for 301B
Makes it harder than it really is. The textbook makes it easier.
Acct 301B is a tough class but Keshk's class is the best choice. He's pretty lenient with grading the paper.Exams are little tricky. If you listen to his lectures, do the HWs, Wiley practices and read the book, you should be fine. Don't expect cakewalk with his class. He's willing to help students and gives lots of extra credits and curves at he end.
This rating is wrong for this professor, he makes things harder than the book. His lecture is very confusing, doesn't know how to explain clearly. Tons of pre, post class homework, and 2 written assignment. U need to read twice or more to understand by yourown. Won't recommend!!!
Overall, this professor is very lenient. He curved the grades at the end, which is why I got a B. The key to passing his class is to thoroughly study the textbook and practice the homework problems. Most of his exam questions are very similar to the ones in the book.
The final will ruin you no matter how hard you study. It is cumulative and EXTREMELY detailed.
His lectures are sometimes not helpful to the exams. I KNOW that you have to understand the concepts to do well but the materials on the exams are just brutal. Why make a big curve when students don't get it? He has trust issues with his students as well. It's hard for me to take the tests with him walking around thinking I'm going to cheat
Attendance is mandatory sadly, but on the flip side, he does offer a lot of extra credit. Don't think that these extra credits will make up for attendance because the final is hard! I studied and the cumulative final was foreign! The only reason why I even pass is because of a curve and the working problem he tells us to do. If not, I would fail .
Professor Keshk is one of the most helpful professors that I have ever came across. He will repeat the material if you ask and is always willing to help during office hours. You have to put in the work and really study. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE WEEKEND BEFORE AN EXAM TO STUDY! Also, read the new chapter ahead of time to get pre-assignment points.
He is very nice and patient, explaining stuff clearly. He offers extra points in the exam and preassignments. Take him if you can. He is the best for 301B
Keshk is a really good professor. He clearly explains the material and really wants students to learn. The material is difficult so you much study a lot. Tests are difficult but he does curve. He offers extra credit. One group assignment which is not too bad. I failed the final but still managed to pass with a B :)
Exams are way harder than the book, Hw(s), or even the practice exams on WileyPlus!
Yes the exams are hard and you can be tricked by details. Studying on PPTs are not enough if you want an A. He gives extra credits on pre-class assignments and curves on the exams. Not an easy A but he will pass you if you missed a little points. Be aware on the final. I got AA- on the 2 exams after curve, and a C on the final with 1 point curve.
Very nice, fun, and helpful Professor. The exams are long but reasonable with gradings. Put your effort, come to office hour, he definitely will help. Best ACCT301B Professor at CSUF (Don't talk or text in class. He is very critical about it)
I know the class is a little hard, however Prof. Keshk, does NOT make it easy. He teaches mainly using the pp's. His test are challenging, very specific, and long. Every question requires calculation, so time is really and issue. Teaching students to "plug in" a number in a transaction, is not the right way, instead teach us where it come from.
This class is so hard! If I took any other professor then I probably would have failed but Keshk actually teaches and explains so well! Exams are tough but after attendance homework and group project you have a great chance to pass. He is a no nonsense professor and he will call you out on it but who cares he's great!
Professor Keshk teaches from the book; you must read the assigned chapters in order to do well on his exams. He is very fair, works through examples from the book during class, and strives to ensure that every student understands the material that he is teaching. He makes himself available to help students who take time to ask questions.
Overall, a nice professor. I took his 7-week class, so everything was really fast-paced. Lectures are based on powerpoints, but he explains well. I felt like his exam questions were harder than what we learned in class. So, you really do have to have a great understanding of what you're doing and be able to apply it.
I'm taking his 301B class 4-week session in summer . A bunch of homework, pre-lecture homework, projects, 2 chapter review 301A. Homework is hard, mid term was extremely hard too. After 20 points curve, over half of class still fail under 70%. Why doesn't he only focus on main things for summer class? he goes everything in detail.
The homework or the slides won't save you from the tests. The problems were way harder than both of them. ALot of homework, group project, difficult concepts. This class is the hardest accounting class ever. I understood the homework and slides very well but his tests were extremely difficult. Good luck taking him.
This guy knows his stuff and does a great job of teaching it. It's advanced accounting so yeah, it's tough. Go to class and take thorough notes and do the homework/practice problems. The exams are pretty tough since he writes them, but he gives a generous curve. Doing a bunch of practice problems is how I got through the tests. Love this guy!
This class will require some work but doable. If you take very good notes and study those notes you will be fine. Must be able to fully understand concept of calculation in/out and you will do fine. Personally didn't do much of the hw/only scan book bc i rely heavily on my notes for exams. Did well on both exams but finals was harder bc cumulative.
This class wasn't too bad. Professor Keshk gives great lectures and provides you with everything you need for the exams. Gives a really generous curve on the exams. Studying and understanding the material is a must to do good. 301b and Cost were a lot harder than this class, in my opinion.
Nice guy but his lectures and homework wont save you on the exams. The exams were mostly calculations, trick questions, & extremely difficult. Never had time to finish. Some of the concepts were made harder than they should be compared to other 301b classes. Total wasted semester and hours of studying.
Keshk does a great job explaining every concept and is able to break things down for everyone to understand. However, his tests are the hardest I have ever taken. He gives homework and extra credit along with a group paper. His gives a study guide but it is basically to study everything in the chapter unless he skipped them. Need to read the book.
DO NOT TAKE. His test ARE NOTHING like the examples he gives in class and on the online hw. Yes, he does teach well but everything he goes over in class does not necessarily give you a clear picture of the test. You could "learn" and still FAIL the class.
Professor Keshk is great. He spends most of the time lecturing and going through practice problems. He makes his own tests but the computational test questions are very similar to the ones you practice in class so know those in and out and you're good. He does take quite a while to upload grades however to Titanium. Glad I had him for 401.
Walied is a really nice guy, He's available for office hours if you want further explanation and works out problems in class. That being said, this class I found incredibly difficult, more so than 301A -B. Be ready for difficult exams. Attendance is mandatory (he takes roll every class) and there's no homework for practice.
He gives out 3 exams, 1 project, 1 group project, and homework assignments. I hardly read the textbook required, BUT I did an extensive research online to figure out the homework and prepare for the exams. The professor goes fairly slow in his lectures and will go over a FEW problems during class. The group project was similar to the 301A project.
he is an amazing professor!!!
Walied is a nice guy. He's also available for any questions you may have at his for office hours. However, unless you want to become a CPA do not take this class. If you have the option, choose another professor if your determined to take 401. The exams are much more difficult than the in-class examples. Overall, awful class.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! AVOID AT ALL COST! HE WILL RUIN YOUR ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE! Trust me, I'm a good student and HIS CLASS WAS MY 1ST EVER C. HE DOESN'T TEACH ANYTHING THAT IS ON THE EXAM. AND TELLS YOU TO READ THE BOOK 3 TIMES OVER TO EVEN PASS HIS EXAMS. Oh, and I learned nothing in his class, he should really stop teaching.
There are 2 Exams, 1 Final, 1 group paper, 1 fasb assignment, Wiley hw(easy). Keshk is by far the best ACCT lecturer I have had. He break down concepts practically and clearly. If students actually listen to what he is saying/lecturing about, then they will understand the concepts thoroughly. He also gives a good curve for the overall class.
I feel like for most accounting classes you must teach yourself for most of it, but Keshk does a good job of trying to make things simple. He gives a lot of opportunities to do well in the class without doing well on the exams. He curves each test based on class average and he writes his own tests that are all multiple choice.
Read the book and group project ASAP. Be prepared before lecture. He makes his own test and they are really hard. Multiple choice with none of the above answers on every question. You can't guess at all. You will have to know the material to answer the questions. Curves. You can still pass with D grades on the Tests. I
Took this class 1 year ago. Worst and hardest acct professor. It is my first time getting C at csuf. You should read and read and read. He will test you details, so if you dont understand concepts, you will not be able to pass. Do not try to just memorize. 2 midterms and 1 final (cumulative) 3-4 quizzes. I heard 13 people got F last semester.
Took him for both 301b and 401. PPL seriously when he outline what is going to be on the exam bf exam day write down every little thing he say bc ITS GONNA BE ON THE EXAM!! Keshk lectures are solid, and he repeats what he believe is hard. Exams can be difficult, but take good notes and do practice. I feel like reading book is not needed but a bonus
One of the best acct lecturers at CSUF for 301B. However, for 401 his lectures lack in depth explanations, but he is still great. If you listen to his lectures thoroughly you will understand the concepts. You will Need to READ the BOOK for CALCULATIONS. Fair Exams and decent lectures.
Keshk gives so many chances to boost your grade. No quizzes, 2 midterms, cumulative final, one individual proj and 1 group project that wont take long (super easy). If you can comfortably do the HW, follow the lecture slide examples, and do the extra practice on Wiley, you should definitely get above Bs on exams. Lots of E.C avail
Dr. Keshk is an awesome professor. He explains the content well and will gladly stop to answer questions as they arise. ACCT 301B is a really difficult class, but he brightens up the lectures with stories and dad jokes. I never read the book, but he stressed the importance of reading it to help. He curves generously. Go to SI as much as possible.
Don't be intimidated as his tests are extremely difficult. Make sure you attend the review class session before the exam he will tell you the topics, he says word for word. Make sure you do the extra credit pre-class assignments! Practice the problems he samples during the lecture. He curves generously. Go to his office hours and ask questions!
PLEASE READ! His test is super difficult, and long. He nice to answers all your questions in his office hours. I read the book, did homework, watched videos, I thought I understand everything BUT NOT! His exams made me feel like I know nothing! I got B+ and B for 301A and B, and B+ for 308, these are difficult classes but this class is way harder!!
Very chill and respectful professor. He lets you have cheat sheets for the exam. Study everything from his lecture videos and review questions, that's all you need. No trick questions on the exam. He offers a lot of extra credit. Hard class but doable. He truly cares about his students and is very understandable. Would recommend him.
The class had three tests, two group projects, weekly extra credit quizzes, and homework. He gives you some chances to earn extra credit and lets you have a cheat sheet for the exams. This is a hard class and the tests are difficult but he does give you what you need to pass
His tests are hard but he provides A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT. Quizzes every week based on his lecture videos but they will count for extra credit. He allows cheat sheets for his tests. 2 midterm and 1 final.
The structure of his class was top-notch. Lecture videos. Once a week attendance to do practice problems which are on the exams. Extra credit quizzes. Exam 1 was super easy but Exams 2, & 3 are extremely challenging, so make sure you understand the material very well. Don't forget to practice for the SI Mock exam that he provides on canvas.
Do the extra credit, homework, and show up to class and you'll pass. He offers so much extra credit that you can have an F average on the exams and still pass. You're graded on 3 exams, homework, and 2 group papers. He's not harsh with the group papers, just don't plagerize and it's free points. Exams are hard but, you can fail them and still pass.
Overall great Professor. Gave a lot of extra credit towards the end. His class had 3 exams, and the last two were tough. However, his class is definitely passable. Just make sure you do all the ECs and show that you're trying. I would definitely take him again.
One of the best accounting professor I have taken at CSUF. His lectures are on point, exams can be a bit hard, but they are open notes. He also offers many extra credit opportunities that can be extremely helpful. He also has a great sense of humor which is not really common within the other accounting professors.
Walied is one of the best Accounting professors at CSUF so far. He inspired students and let us understand all the materials by self-studying his recorded videos before coming to class. He is always responsive to students' questions and emails. He also gives a lot of chances for you to obtain extra credit. Take him, and you will learn a lot !!
I've taken Keshk for 401 and 301B. He's a good professor that just wants to see you put effort into his class. You can fail his exams and still pass if you showed up for all classes, added at least 15 quality discussion board posts (not just "thanks for reminder!"), and did your homework. His classes are hard, just show him you care and you'll pass
Exams are HARD even though you are allowed 10 pages of notes, but offers a lot of extra credit that makes this class passable. Put in the work, watch the lecture videos, do all the extra credit, and you should pass. Keshk is a solid choice
this is a flipped classroom. be prepared. you are supposed to watch videos on your own and he'll just "review" in class for a bit. half the time you don't have class because it's "Q&A". does offer extra credit though and allows 10 pages of notes for exams. EXAMS ARE HARD. 30 questions and only 10 MCQ. The other 20 questions are numeric answers.
This class is very difficult, the flipped classroom style of teaching also takes a while to get used to. Exams have 10 pages of cheat sheet allowed but beware since almost 3/4 of the exam is fill in the blank so you must get the right numerical answers and cannot be saved by multiple choice questions. There is a lot of extra credit offered.
Nice guy, hard class. You teach yourself everything then ask questions in class and go over review questions. Content is very confusing. Usually only has class once a week. 2 easy group papers. Offers enough EC to bump your grade from an F to a B. 3 exams total, 1st was easy, final was so bad class average was 44%. Homework on every chapter
The professor gave us 10 pages of notes to use for exams, as well as a comprehensive study guide for them all. My advice to future students is to watch the lecture videos, and then make your cheat sheet by writing down all the journal entries. Exams were only 54% of your total grade - there were 3 easy projects/case studies to go along with it.
This class might as well be an asynchronous class. He posts outdated videos for the lectures and expects us to know the material when we show up for class. He only meets once a week and browses through the material for about 20-30 min. It doesn't matter if he only offers a lot of extra credit because the class average is really low. Disappointing.
content is difficult and he posts online lecture videos you watch at home before coming to class and you do practice problems in class. videos were easy to understand. didn't need to read the textbook. 3 exams were pretty manageable if u understand the content and videos. 3 group assignments. offers A LOT of extra credit. super nice, take him!
The material is tough, and the video lectures make it worse. The professor relies heavily on these videos, and in-class time is rushed with minimal explanation. Most in-class time is spent in silence while we "attempt" the in-class examples. It feels like he assumes everyone already understands. I wouldn't recommend this professor.
Truly, this professor is one of the best. He makes his class accessible for every student. He posts online videos, and lectures, and even goes above and beyond to schedule us guest lectures with great firms. He does much more and he works very hard to meet his students needs. He is such a kind-hearted and understanding professor who loves to teach!
Professor Keshk is that guy, he made a really difficult class enjoyable. He does a flipped classroom, meaning you watch lecture (typically 1-2ish hours) before class and then go over review in class. This was a little difficult to keep up with as it is very time consuming but so worth it because it actually gives you time to listen and take notes.
Gives the best study guides + access to all the resources you'd want. Difficult fill-in exams, but multiple extra credit opps/cheatsheet policy makes up for it (might disappear after next sem, but hopefully tests become easier/you guys get a curve to replace that). You do need to watch vids before class, but they're not outdated.
Has great lectures and learning materials. He's always open to questions about grades or class content. 301B is a hard class, but he does his best to make it the easiest he can. I can honestly say I learned a lot from him. I recommend watching the lecture videos before class and attempting his review questions to get the most out of it.
Good Professor. Flipped class so you read / watch the uploaded lectures before class & in-class is practice problems. Exams are MCQ and calculation questions. Not too bad since we got a cheat sheet for each exam (3) and he provides a study guide of what he tests on. Exam Q similiar to practice Q. Weekly quizzes. 2 Group Projects. HW as usual.
