This guy is really easy. There are no tests. All you do is write a few papers and read a few stories. If you do bad on the papers you can rewrite them. Easy class.
This is prob. the easiest professor you can have throughout your college experience. Only hw is to read a couple of pages...never gave us any essays for hw..very easy going...TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!
Very easy teacher..1 term paper, barely any hw, tests are just an esssy (ussually comparison between 2 stories). Highly Recommended

This guy.. is absolutely.. THE MAN! take this class if you can.. take it even just for fun. all I did in this class was chill and **** all the time and I got an A. THIS MAN IN THE GREASTEST.
He is an easy teacher. He doesn't ask for much and grades fairly. He works with students who have ESL issues. My biggest problem = he doesn't belive students can disagree with his interpretation of a book, even if there is textual proof. He is looking for parrots not students.
worst prof in baruch, don't expect an A.
He's strict on attendance but he's really easy on the grading. He's mean to biligual students so I won't recommend him if you're not fluent in english. Don't even bother to buy the book, it's a waste of money because he doesn't use it.
He's a really easy professor. You just have to do the work because he expects a lot. He criticizes, but not to offend anyone...just to help them.
Two in-class papers and one term paper... too easy. Don't expect to learn a lot in his class. The professor is slow, and it may take him up to two weeks to analyze one story. Take notes, study them for your in-class essays and its an A. It's almost a promise that if you take him, you'll probably think its the easiest english class you'll ever have
Really simple class. 2 1-2 page in class essays, 1 5-page research paper. He's part time so you can't really reach him outside of class. Doesnt give out any contact info. Participate and get an A. He basically grades on grammar and essay structure/flow, content isnt too important.
He's the worst professor ever. Doesn't dress good and looks awkward. Once, picking out my mistake he said "people from your part of the world always make the same mistakes". I still don't know how can that be possible. Don't take him
Easy A. Just write a few in class papers, a 5-page final paper and thats it. He takes attendance every class, don't expect to learn much. Read the stories he assigns b/c he asks questions.
Two words:Easy A.If you want to focus on your other classes, take him. Professor Corwin gives 5 in-class essays and one 5 page term paper. If you go to class, and write an exceptional term paper your guaranteed an A. Corwin's grading is very fair. Corwin makes funny remarks, gives five minute intermissions so he can stare out the window periodicaly.
Professor Corwin is a very knowledgable professor with the ability to give an honest opinion. On grades, he gives you the benefit of the doubt. 4 in class papers (very short) and a final research paper. No formal final. Definatly a teacher worth considering when selecting your english 2100 or 2150 class.
He's probably the easiest english teacher you'll ever have. He gives a term paper which consists of 5 pages. He doesn't really give homework and all of the essays you write would be done during the class. When you have a test all you have to write is one page front and back and the topics are pretty simple. This class doesn't consist of much work.
Easiest teacher...He takes attendance every class, but i missed 10 classes and he still gave me an A...As long as you dont bust his balls you get an A
He is very unprofessional. His papers are very easy but he gave me an underserved grade. It's impossible to contact the guy. For prospective students I highly recommend you to ask for a number you can contact him by.
Very easy teacher. If he knows your name, you'll pass the class, give 4 in class esays, whch you can rewrite. Dont worry about grammer and spelling ,he doesnt care about that.
I wish all classes at college were as easy as his. I'm an honors student, but I think any person who has written at least 2 essays in the past year will get an A in this guy's class. He's pretty funny and I've seen his play too for extra credit but I knew I didn't need it..it was actually pretty good. If you get anything below an A- you're an idiot
he's not that easy. he only knows how to say "u need a tutor" for stupid mistakes. sometimes he doesnt remember what he told u. he is kinda boring. its not really a writing class. more like a literature for shakespeare. oh btw. u can easily cheat cuz his papers are on stuff u read in class so just write them somewhere before the paper
he's not so easy, he makes you rewrite your paper so many times until he likes it. But if you're good at writing in class essays this may just be the class for you. He doesnt really teach, most of the time you will have discussions with a group of students. Class is really boring!
unproffesional but hey this ones a freebe, doesnt really teach, never stays the entire class time.no textbook, no hw just reading, inclass test , one pg paper front and back thats not enought space to write anything but watev. weird sense of humor. doesnt really ask for much overall easy class.
UNPROFESSIONAL but easy - few homeworks, don't really need to read assigned readings, etc.
horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible professor!!! cannot teach at all.... the worse professor I've ever had. He doesn't care about how much effort you put in your work. There is no way to bring your grade up even if you try really hard. Never finish teaching a class. If you dont have "perfect English" then don't take him!
he is the worest professor i've ever had in Baruch. He hates foreign students. If english is your second language, don't take his class. It's gonna distory your GPA.
BORING class... didn't learn anything from him. Can't have your own interpretation of things, whatever he says is right. No point of going to class since he doesn't care. All in class writing, let you rewrite them but won't help your grade.
NOT an easy A. The workload is easy but your grade is unpredictable. And it's impossible to find him after class. 3 in class papers, a poetry presentation and optional extra credits. Does not grade on a letter scale (with the exception of 1 paper) but on a +/- scale.
well... if you don't want to work... or learn anything.... take him.... and you get a b+/a-/a. he does what he wants and says what he wants, if english is your second language dont take him....he gives lots of extra credit options... and oh yeah dont go to the bathroom during class!!!! trust me!!
Speak Louder! Pos:read 12 essays and write 4 in class with rewrites, one term paper present to class. easy but you learn nothing. treated my class like high schoolers. a waste of my time and tuition $. but if need help, could ask. he's funny sometime, bad memory, don't remember names. again, Speak Louder.
the most easiest prof.I met so far in Baruch.English is not my native language,I still got B+.Funny old guy,a little bit nasty(eats in front of students)but you get easy grades and doing nothing during the semester. His short stories are really easy to read. The latest you leave the class 30 minutes before the official end.Take him,so you dont sweat
One of the easiest A's i ever got in baruch.
Well, he cant understand us and we cant understand him so its almost impossible to learn. He's rude, says whatever is on his mind, and does whatever he pleases. It's annoying really, i dont find him to be a good teacher. he's too old and should retire
He gives 3 in class essays which he grades somewhat randomly. There is also one final paper (5 pages) where you have to present infront of the class. He usually lets you out early from class and rarely assigns homework. You're not sure how he grades or what he will give you.
I can understand why some students have a hard time putting up with him but really, hes just a funny old man. Hes really sweet and understanding and if you participate in class, you'll do just fine. He really is a funny guy.
Just a Great Professor.
Speak louder! What did they just say? He is not the best professor in the world. He is ancient! Most likely will not know how to pronounce your name. He is old as ish. Easy class though, 4 essays, a few readings, and a 5 page term paper. Did I mention he was old!?
Absolutely pathetic. I think the classmates were worse though. Sometimes he tells you to do something and if u can't hear him and you say "what?" he goes "don't say what! just do it!!!" he won't repeat things for you. lets you out of class more than a half hour more than you're supposed to. He takes forever to finish a story you're reading.
he is really, really old. he is a little deaf (well, not a little), can't remember the names and hates people. but he lets you go 20-30 min before class ends, you don't have to come at all after every essay and he gives only 4 in-class essays and a termpaper. if he proposes to work for extra credit, do it! if you like to be humiliated, take him.
Oldest guy in Baruch. Like 82 years old. He will not hear you because he is quite deaf, so speak up. He has some of the best old World War II stories to tell. Four essays in class and a final research paper is all the work there is.
Best teacher ever!!! He lets you out early and all the essays are in class so it's not hard. You don't have to read any books(sparknotes) just show up and it's an easy A
Greatest civil war veteran ever!!! He loves the north!
Probably won't get lower then a b, unless you don't do the essays and talk about each topic based on his opinion. He isn't fair at grading, I'll put it that way and if you want to get an A make sure he know your name and whatever you say make sure you make sense.
He is easy but also completely unpredictable when it comes to grades. A few grammar mistakes could drop your grade. there isn't any work except for 3 in class essays but again he is unpredictable and he just wants you to write word for word what he said in class. he's also deaf.
Terrible teacher. 4 in class essays. Random grades but nothing lower than a B. Sitting through that class is absolutely terrible
Professor Corwin is an respectable professor. If English is your second language, don't take him because his grading depends entirely on class essays. Three or more grammar mistakes will kill your grade. But if you are interested in English and don't want to do any homework, then take him. I respect him because him and his son are real artists.----
very bad professor, u get 3 papers to write in class n the grade u get on the first one is ur grade for everything in his class including ur final grade
Easy class overall. If you agree with him on everything and write that in the essays you will get an A-. There are 3 to 4 in class essays and thats it-no hw. Rephrase his words on the essay and you will be sure to do well. Often lets us out early and usually takes attendance in the middle of class.
Easy A-. If you participate a lot you will probably end with an A. I took him twice. Just read the short stories, the book is very cheap and 3 or 4 in class essays which are very easy if you listen to what he says in class. He is rude but you'll get used to it and just agree with whatever he says.
The grade you receive on your first essay is basically the grade you will get in the end. He gives 4 or 5 in class essays that are based on the stories that are read and discussed in class. Lectures are very boring and sometimes pointless but attendance is pretty strict. I wouldn't take him again.
His personality is the worst out there since he is rac!st and disrespectful. Also, not helpful at all. He says your opinion is wrong and takes points off. He basically only has students because he is an extremely easy professor. If you can't handle a bad personality, definitely DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is overall TERRIBLE but EASY.
take this class. its an easy B+ at the worst. 3 in class essays. no hw, 5 dollar book and no notes. don't talk back and read or sparknotes the bookstories and the essays are a joke. always lets us out early also.
Basically you get the grade that you get on the first essay. No homework, no point in reading the stories (just sparknotes or shmoop). About 5 in class essays, and few extra credits that don't really help your grade. You end up with the grade you get on the first essay and that will also be your grade for every essay after that.
You have to read short stories from one book the entire year. Gives three in-class essays, one of them being your "final" essay. Your grade will be basically what he gave you for your first essay. Your opinion doesn't matter and he only takes into account his own interpretations. The lectures are extremely boring but it's an easy A- at the least.
Took him two semesters in a row. In ENG2100 he gives 3 in-class essays based on the readings and a final paper based on whatever he wants. In ENG2150, he just gives 3 in-class essays based on the readings. Participate, but don't disagree with him. In the essays, write with his perspective in mind. Don't expect anything higher than an A- (B+ mostly)
He doesn't hand out A's, but if you sound eloquent on paper, you will get an A-! The course grade consists of 4 essays. Don't disagree with what he says in class about the stories. Don't have your phone out or fool around in class, or he'll call you out. Take him if you don't want to do a lot of work! Throws us a party at the end of the semester!
He gave us 3 in-class essays based on the readings and one term paper(pass/fail). He goes over the readings in class in great detail. Read what he assigns, stay awake in class, don't be on your phone(he hates that), and make sure you actually come. If you know how to write a coherent thesis statement and how to organize an essay, you'll get an A-
Gives random grades. If you take him and have a pulse, and somewhat attend class you will get one of the following B+, A-, A. Hands out random grades on 3 Essay exams .No HW.
Professor Corwin is rough around the edges, but if you do what is told, you'll have a great time in his class. He is hilarious and doesn't have a tolerance for BS. Do what is assigned and you will get at least an A-.
writing is not supposed to be a formulaic, linear process, but somehow corwin turns it into a drudging, monotonous experience. i feel like im not allowed to take risks and grow as a writer as a result of his teaching style, and originality is a no-no for him, it seems. i really feel like i'm wasting 2 hours every two days smh
He's a good teacher but he's old so he can't hear you and you can't hear him
This guy made me rewrite an essay because I wrote it in pencil instead of pen and I came in a few minutes late and he didnt tell me until after I wrote it that it had to be in pen. He cant hear or remember anything but overall an easy A, you dont even have to show up to class and you can still pass.
3 in class exams, pay close attention to the themes he discusses in class because that will be what the exam is about. for the thesis paper, make your topic specific and interesting (it's pass/fail so just have as much fun as possible). dude is sort of boring and old but the class picks up pace, just follow the rules and be respectful
If you take this professor be prepared to forget every you ever learned about essay writing. He has his own grading system he doesn't tell you about, and isn't clear about directions. He's really old so you can chill during class and he won't notice because either way you're screwed for the test.
Bad professor but insanely easy course. Three in class essays and a term paper that pass fail. Class is so easy and simple but very boring. Need a book to read a couple of pieces but not hard to find. Would take if I had to.
I don't know why his rating is so bad. If you want to actually learn, then don't take his class, but if you want easy A then take it. He gives no homework, and has 3 in class essays along with a take home term paper for your final. He honestly doesn't care about anything and is very old with a faint voice. He is adorable and pls take this class.
The only time you can use the bathroom is when he gives the class a 5-10 minute break. 60% of the grade is 3 in class essays where you compare readings in the book. During these he makes all students put their books on the lectern and walk up there when they want to quote the readings. Not hard but hell give you a headache.
He tends to be funny by accident. It is very easy to pass his course, it seems difficult to pass with anything higher than an A-. His class is pretty easy as long as you show up and to SOMETHING, you will likely leave with at least a B+
When the people below said that this is the easiest professor ever, it's true. HOWEVER, he will 100% not give you an A. I was one of the only 3 kids in the class who participated and did all the extra credit, got A-. His feedback is "Your essay is excellent." Then he hits you with that A-, B+, or B. Do not expect an A ever. Also, learned nothing.
If you want to get an A DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I am convinced it is impossible to receive an A in this class. If you are fine with an A- or B+ then this is the perfect class because you will get it and put in very little work for it. But if you want A, it's impossible regardless of extra credit or how much you participate. You wont learn a thing.
He's a nice guy he's very old. Just do the work and fix things how he wants them fixed, be nice to him and you'll get a good grade.
I would not recommend this class if you want an A. I think it is impossible to do so. If you are fine getting an A- or B+ then this is the class for you because you can get it with little work. You will also learn absolutely nothing about English or writing.
Basically the first grade you get is the grade you will end up with. Almost impossible to get an A, but you are guaranteed to get B/B+/A- if you just do the work. The assignments are very short and simple.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Doesn't give good feedback and only grades on a scale from B-A-. Will tell you he loved it and then hit you with a B for absolutely no reason. Can't teach at all. Has a student help him navigate zoom. Is unclear about assignments. Could not pay me to take again. Take anyone else if given the choice
Took him freshman year (during quarantine), and he CANNOT use any of the software. You won't be able to check your grades because he doesn't use blackboard. He also has a tech helper in the zoom calls as the hos. After submitting your essays (usually by 6pm of the same day), he would call your number the following class to tell you your grade.
He calls out students. Will tell you that you did great but gives you a grade of B. There were 4 essays that you need to submit. He doesnt tell the exact grade but he tells the letter grade. He doesnt give that much feedback on your paper.
I took him my first semester at Baruch during COVID and this man cannot use technology. His wife had to help him log on and we had a student helping him with all things zoom. Not to mention, he gives barley any work but nobody will leave his class with anything more than an A-. He told me I had a perfect essay and gave me a B+
I took him in Fall 2020 as a freshman and he ruined my GPA from the start. No one gets an A because he does not believe in giving out A's. You will be lucky if you get an A- because he gives out random grades. He will say that your essay is perfect, yet give you a B. Do not take him online because he does not know how to use technology.
He wasnt bad in terms of if youre just looking at the final grade. In class, we usually have a hard time hearing and so a classmate asked him to write the essay prompt on the board. Mind you, this was an essay, and this is one of the only things he grade. We could barely hear him but he said no. He straight up said no and we were left on own own.
A few easy assignments every week and a paper every few weeks but you will never know your grades because he doesnt use blackboard for the class. There is a lot of group work so on the first days make sure you sit near people who have their life together. He provides conferences/feedback for papers and the final paper is basically about yourself.
DO NOT TAKE HIM AT ALL COSTS!!! He is extremely inconsiderate of people's time and doesn't think of anyone but himself. It is impossible to get an A in his class so if you are stuck with him, then get ready to get a B (maximum). Overall, he is the worst professor I've ever had
Honestly although he is a little old school. I had fun in his class. As long as you participate and show him that you try you would do good. Not gonna lie was one of my fav classes the semester I took him. Don't look at the bad reviews try it for yourself.
People who give him a bad review took the class too seriously. I would write the essays before class and get an A all the time. All you have to do is extend your ideas and try to sound sophisticated so he thinks you're actual reading the material and thinking deeply about it. Take his class. I had a great time.
