Best Teacher Ever! I took him in the summer for Algebra, taking the class for the 3rd time. Passed the class with an A. Made you learn the material, tried to make the test easy as possible, but still teaching the conecpts correctly. Took quizes every day at the end of class on the material covered that day (made you learn). Awsome professor!

He's very cool.... explain well... best teacher ever...:)
One of the best math teachers I've had in awhile. He is great at explaining the concepts and will always go over it again. Tests are not too hard and doesn't make you stay the whole 3 hours. Def will take him again!
Loved him!!! I got an F in a previous professor's class the semester before and passed his class with an A!!! :) verrry casual, laid back and he really takes away the fear that some people have with math! <3
I finished his class w/ A past semester and went to calculus. Came back to grade him because he did'nt prepare me for calculus. He's very easy. Tests are easy, Homework is not mandatory. I went to Calculus and I am strugling because he was too easy. If this is you final math class, take him. If U R going to higher math level DO NOT TAKE IT!!!!!!
First off, to the person below...you probably aren't doing well in calc because you have a bad teacher. For anyone who is going to take him...he's awesome. Sign up. He's nice, understanding, and he can ACTUALLY EXPLAIN math!! Great guy, good class.
Awesome teacher. I have always had trouble in math, until I had him as teacher. Sign up for his class and he will do everything he can to help you pass.
He is a good person. But the person below - you have not taken college algebra - you are taking college math - BIG difference!! He is good for MAT 1033 and MGF but not so gr8 for MAC 1105
Great teacher, took him for college algebra and i enjoyed his class, moves pretty fast but he makes it easy so I def recommend.
Great teacher and person... really enjoyed his classes..I have taken him for inter. algebra and college algebra and will be taking him for statistics too!
I took Mr. Gatti after failing intermeadiate algebra because I had a horrible teacher. Now I've completed intermediate with an A, college algrebra with a B, and all because of him. He is truly the best math teacher EVER!! Take him, he's the bomb. Don't worry about buying your book unless you don't understand math and need the practice.
Very Good Teacher! He likes to teach and it shows. He will take the time to help if you need it. If math is your thing, the book is pointless. If you?re not a math person, do the homework and you'll still get a good grade. He is the best in the business when it comes to preparing you for exams with excellent reviews. Warning: Don?t disrespect him,
Great teacher!
he the best math teacher in scc. he knows his dtuff very well. if u just pay attention in his class,u will understand everythig.he is great
I was so scared to take this class. Prof Gatti is brilliant. He knew everyone's name after the first test, he doesn't even need to look at a book for questions to write on the board. Tests are fair, show up ON TIME!!!, listen and you will do fine. LOVE THIS INSTRUCTOR!!!!
I loved Mr. Gatti! He is one of the best teachers I have ever had! He taught so well I didn't really need to study outside of class. He would do a little review before class that helps clarify any questions and refresh the assignment. Mr Gatti is the best! I highly recommend him. :-D
great instructor. teaches you exactly what will be on each test. if you attend class and take good notes you will do fine. it is not an easy subject, and w/o Mr. Gatti I would not have passed. Highly recommend!
There is no one better at teaching algebra than prof gatti. He is the BEST algebra instructor I have ever had. I am so horrible at math, but I actually undertood it with Prof. Gatti. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM
Mr Gatti was a wonderful teacher! The only things that count are your test and quiz grades, but quizes are given at the end of a class and they are based from the notes you took earlier that class. If you take notes on during the review, it will be exactly like the test. He was an awesome teacher! very helpful! I do not do well in Math and I got a
Best teacher ever! Doesn't use the book at all --- homework optional! Teaches exactly what is on each test and reviews before each test. Very friendly and willing to help! I am taking him again next semester for another math class!!!
I had this teacher for spring 2009 once a week. It was a simple class considering how it was basically a repeat of intermediate algebra otherwise i wouldve been lost. he doesnt answer questions in class so you will need to go to student success center.study notes and you'll do fine. you can do his final if your grade is low otherwise you dont need2
Great teacher, really easy, all tests are open notes and all quizes are open notes. make sure you attend class because all of the test are from what he goes over in class. home work is optional and your grade is only based off test and quizes. Highly recommended. Willing to help and answer questions if you need help. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!!
Great person, very helpful, if you attend every class and take notes you'll get an A . Math is easy with this professor,he made it totally not stressful.
Professor Gatti is amazing! I am terrible at math, and his class was the first math class I got an A in! He makes things so clear and wants you to succeed.
so he's really nice and friendly but when you need help he wont answer anything and you cant make up any tests. feels like the class is rushed but if you just study the notes and you dont have other hard classes you will pass with an a or b. dont purchase the book u wont use it and homework is optional and there is no extra credit offered.
Attend class, and write the notes then do the homework. Homework isn't assinged but the tests are easy if you do them, 16 questions per test. The problems on the notes are on the test and not something that some teachers throw in. Has a great sense of humor which makes all the differance in a mundane subject.
Mr. gatti was a great teacher who you could tell has been doing this for a while. He rarely uses notes because he knows everything by heart. I would suggest taking him for the once a week two and a half hour class. He reviews for the test right before you take it so everything is fresh in your mind. Don't bother getting the book.
I will only take my math classes with this man! HE IS AMAZING! takes time to walk thru all problems, and does a review right before test to clarifying any information. If math is not your strong point, Gatti will make things easy for you!
THIS MAN IS AN AWESOME MATH TEACHER. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A GOOD GRADE IN COLLEGE ALGEBRA! EVEN THOSE WHO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MATH CAN UNDERSTAND HIM!
Professor Gatti is a wonderful teacher, and super nice guy. You really dont need the book, unless you want to do the HW which is optional.Quizes are all open book.Grade is based on quizes, tests and final exam. Make sure you write down all his notes and he does a review for each test so make sure you attend. He is AMAZING. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
The absolute best teacher ever. I hate math, had taken Alg twice before and never got it. Enter Professor Gatti, he explained everything in a way that had me understanding and then helping my teenagers with their own Algebra! This guy is the best~
He really is a good teacher. However, even with effort, I was still not able to pass. I received a D+. I've always been terrible at anything involving logic and even with Gatti teaching, I simply could not get by. I recommend him, but if you're as bad as me with math, he's no miracle worker.
Outstanding Professor! Very helpful, makes the subject seem easy. He is very good at breaking down the material so that it makes sense. Answered all questions happily and completely. Would def recommend to anyone!
Mr. Gatti knows how to teach students who are not mathematicians. Open note quizes, awesome reviews before chapter tests & no final. Warning - DO NOT cut & paste information for the required written report. It MUST be in your own words - some quotes acceptable as long as properly cited. He's not an idiot & knows if you copied info from Wikipedia!
GREAT TEACHER, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Makes algebra easy to understand. Learn everything off his lectures. Willing to help, down to earth & funny!
Best math teacher I have ever had. Teaches you everything you need to know from his lectures, make sure you go to class! I cant do math to save my life, this was my 3rd attempt @ this class holding strong B may walk out with an A. Has a gift at teaching, test 1 is the hardest of them all cake walk forward.
Professor Gatti is a fabulous teacher. Personally, I never opened the math book and my lowest test score was a 98. Go to class because that's when you'll learn the most. He breaks math down to be so simple. I wouldn't say math is my thing, but I'm not bad at it. I ended up getting a 99 in the class! Best math class ever. :)
He is a good teacher..He explains and breaks down problems very well. Attendance is madatory because if u miss a day of notes your out of luck and u hardly use the text book. HW is optional and test are not to bad as long as you study. If your bad at math he's great cuz he helps u understand.
Difficult to follow and often unclear. Goes very fast, does not answer questions and makes you feel stupid for asking. Grades very hard and offers little extra credit. Avoid him if math is not your strong point. Got my very first failing grade, one semester away from graduation.
Had Gatti for college alg, loved it, decided to stick with him for statistics. The department made him give us mandatory hw which was tedious and in no way helpful. Gatti's lectures were when I learned everything. Amazing teacher. Don't ask any questions til after class tho. Final department exam was WAY too hard. Still got an A in the class.
Great professor! Show up to class, write down the notes, study them & you should have no problem getting an A in the class. If you have to take Statistics, I definitely recommend taking him!
This is seriously the best math teacher I have ever had. I used to have such anxiety when it can to math, but he breaks it down into simple steps. He goes over everything on the test the day before, so make sure to write down the notes. Taking him again for statistics :)
I felt that HE knows the material very well, but just doesn't always convey that to the class. Knowing it, and teaching it are two very different things. He moves very quickly, like most math teachers do, but asking questions was frowned upon. He really seemed inconvenienced if anyone asked a question. Thumbs down for me.
I absolutely adore Mr. Gatti. I think he is an AWESOME teacher. He really dumbs math down for those of us who don't understand easily. I do agree that it can at times be annoying that he doesn't answer questions during class time but he has absolutely no problem answering any questions at the end of class. I can't wait to take him for Stat! :)
Amazing! He helps you understand the material perfectly and his tests are fairly easy (if you know the material). He is open to questions during class, unless it's completely off topic, then he asks you to wait until break (or after class). I would definitely take him again. I'm actually passing a math course!! and trig for that matter!
First and foremost he moves at such an extreme pace writing down the problem and trying to understand the material all at once make his lectures inevitably irritating. Secondly, anytime you attempt to ask a question he seems to take offense and doesn't claify your question by any standards. I do not approve any of his teaching techniques.
Took him for pre-calc and trig at the same time after being out of school for about 5 years. His notes are all you need to study for tests. I would not buy text book if I had to do it over since it is on line. Mymathlab.com sucks for homework but you have to do it for an A. I would take him again in a heartbeat. Show up on time to every class.
my observations/experience-VERY impatient, gets annoyed when questions are ask, he does not like to clarify, even ignores U, immediately moves on as if a hurricane is coming after him. Office hrs. is a joke, same aptitude as in class, always in a rush. Beware, he teach at the speed of light, and does not teach to share his knowledge.
He is fantastic! I have a learning disability and i got an A in his class. He is very helpful. He's so nice and always up beat. I will definitely be taking him for any other math classes i need to take.
This guy is the man. Everything you need to make perfect scores on the tests are the lecture notes. Study them and you will do awesome on the tests. Awesome!
Took college alg w him and was not too impressed. He does not really care about his students and seems to be irritated when you ask a question during class. He also moves very quickly. Aside from this he IS a good math prof and understands the material perfectly. He does simplify it and there are 4 tests a ton of hmwk online and quiz everyday got B
Greatest Math teacher I've ever had. Made everything simple and to the point. If he could teach every subject I'd be a Doctor by now.
He teaches very quickly. DONT COME TO CLASS sleepy! He doesnt like answering the same questions REPEATEDLY. Be sure to pay attention and take notes. Does variety of examples. If u got lots of questions wait to after class. Really knows his stuff, available before, after class + in his office for xtra clarity. Have 3classes w/him + enjoyed each one!
Prof. Gati, has a fast paced teaching style, however he is very clear and detailed. I liked his teaching style, because it eliminated those students who ask questions just to as questions. He offers his time after class for those who couldn't keep up and he makes lots of effort to ensure you pass. Best part is he gives final throughout semester.
Is good at relating statistics to everyday life, but is unavailable for questions in class or after class - very abrupt! No understanding for personal issues. Difficult to communicate with. No give on test dates at all! Preparation for dept. final is inadequate. He blew away my 4.0!
Mr. Gatti is a great teacher! He breaks things down so that you understand it. He gives you a review with the answers the day before the exam and just switches the numbers around on the real test. He gives you a 100% on your homework if you did at least 80% over the whole semester. Also gives easy quizzes after each class to boost your grade up.
He is a great teacher. After class you can go to his office and get extra help. All the homework is online in the "my math lab". Do NOT buy the book, only the online access code! His tests are 20 questions and straight from his lecture and he does a full review the class period before you have a test.
So I took this class because of his good rating, well he is a nice guy but not the greatest professor. He did not teach according to the book so when you sat down to do the online homework it wasn't consistent. He rushes through the work on the board during class barely giving you time to process. Unless you're great at math, not the best class.
online homework was completely different than he teached in class, then after a hundred homework problems, you take a test that is not like the homework, but like his lecture. teacher had bad attendance this semester, classes were canceled and we had substitutes who taught based on the HW. Do Not Recommend taking this teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite instructor. He is so nice and helpful. Works the problems out on the board and is willing to help you as much as possible after class. Did not need the textbook. Tests are easy. Only downside is the homework. It's online and expensive. The homework can get glitchy and is tedious. However, Prof. Gatti really made the class bearable.
Amazing professor, explains concepts in a way that you can understand. The tests are easy if you pay attention in class and he has a review the class before the test.
This guy rushes through problems on the board so you have no time to comprehend what is going on.did not use our text book once the semester.100s of problems online and had nothing to do with what we did in class and did not match the book either.very bad class to take if you are not very good in math.
Honestly, I enjoyed his class, even though his teaching methods are different than what I'm used to. He does write problems on the board, gives the students a minute to figure them out, and then works them out for you to see. He doesn't use the book, and all the hw is online. He doesn't seem to like questions, but overall I liked him.
This class is listed as traditional, it is not tradional. He doesn't work out of the book. He puts 3 problems on the board per section. Then you have online hmwk to do. However most of the hmwk are problems he doesn't do in class. He has an issue with you asking questions if you don't get it. I personally would NEVER take a class from him.
Very fast paced professor. I'd suggest him as a last option. He gives problems that aren't on the homework. Have to teach yourself a lot. Also he is gone frequently having subs teach you some of the hardest stuff and then he comes back thinking that you understand it. Not the best professor I don't think. Like I said, last option.
This professor does not use examples that are in line with the book. He only gives one or two examples per lesson and the homework is totally different from the lectures. I consider myself fairly good at math, but this was not an enjoyable class. His expectations are not consistent from one class to the next.
He is a very nice teacher but very fast paced. I suggest NEVER missing class since he doesn't hand out notes or anything. He does try his best to explain the best he can. He curves homework grades which is awesome. I passed the class with a B im not very good at math and got put directly into intermediate algebra, id suggest him if you are decent.
I would highly suggest taking this class with another professor besides this guy. You do notes every day and a one question quiz. Then there's my math lab and tests. My math lab just is busy work and does not help with the tests. Least to say we had a sub for a week and he the sub taught better in those 2 days than the professor had all semester.
Very difficult if you are not very good at math. Hard to keep up with. On the other hand if math is your thing then you will love him. He is face paced and gets right to the point. What he reviews for his tests is exactly what Is on the tests! I ended up with a B but I worked hard for it. He is a math genius but I wouldn't take him again.
Great professor! Fast paced but thorough. Go to class and study the review and you'll do fine.
This is my second time with Professor Gatti. If I could I would take every math class with him. He is so nice and he gets things done. Way he teaches makes the concepts easy to understand. Makes the exams as easy and short as possible. As long as you study, you should do fine. Only difficult part is the homework, its online. No textbook needed.
Study the notes from class and you will get an A. Great professor!
I took Gatti for both MAC 1105(College Algebra) and STAT 2023(Statistical Methods). He was by far the best math teacher I've had at Seminole State College. He accurately conveys the materials and tests you on only what he teaches. After class he'll stay and answer any questions and take the time to make sure you know the material. Great Professor!
Gatti is awesome! I was nervous about his class at first because I'm terrible at math & because I read previous reviews. Don't bother buying the textbook, you don't use it. Go to class occasionally, do all of the online homework and use his practice tests. Coming from someone who is terrible at math, he's a great professor!
Make use of the tutoring center when you take this course. Walter is a GREAT professor, he explains the subject well & does his best to make sure students understand concepts before moving on, but calculus can still be a difficult subject, especially for those who struggle with math. Study, study, study and stay on top of homework
I've struggled with math before (this is my fourth attempt) and I've never been more excited about life if I hadn't taken this course with this professor! He really knows what he is doing and if you review and study for the tests you'll be fine. The tests are easy because a lot of it is from the review. If you hate math this is your professor!
I chose Professor Gatti for my math class this spring based on his reviews on this website and I regret it. He's an OKAY teacher, but he's also extremely rude. If you tend to leave the classroom to use the freaking bathroom or for anything EVER, then I don't suggest taking him because apparently he has an issue with walking out for a few minutes.
Decent prof. but the homework & online material are unrelated to the tests. YOU MUST RELY ON CLASS NOTES. Homework is required & LONG but USELESS for test prep. Online videos are also useless. If math is a weak subject & you rely on the online study material to do well on tests, the class will be a disaster. Avoid hybrid class at all costs.
If math is a hard subject for you do not take his class. The pace is insane. He knows math but has little patience for actual teaching. The homework is required but it doesn't help with the test. I'm surprised so many people like him. If you're a bad note-taker, you're screwed. Got my first F ever a semester before graduating with this guy.
Well just best prof. so far. I love that he really want us to pass. If anyone is not successful with this prof. is more likely because they want a easy A. let me tell everyone something, math before Algebra is for kids, but after is for scholars. Anyways he I fail 2 x's before him and I got a B with him. Use the days to study. God bless ya all.
Many students who have taken this subject and failed one or more times in the past seem to like this prof. That has a lot to do with already knowing the material. BTW, in response to previous ignorant comments, wanting an easy A and working your tail off but getting nowhere are two different things! This felt more like a review than a class.
If you are looking for an easy math course, TAKE THIS CLASS. Especially with this professor who thoroughly goes through the material. It's the easiest math class- as a matter of fact, I thought he made things a little too simple at times. He allows you to retake 1 test. NO midterms, final is easy. Homework (MyMathLab) is every week and easy too.
He taught all over the place. Don`t bother to look at the syllabus because he doesn't follow it. I would not take him ever again. The worst teacher ever.
I took Professor Gatti Summer A term 2014 and I thought he was pretty great. The homework doesn't have anything to do with the class really but you only need 80%. He is fast paced but clear. He doesn't really go over things multiple times if you have questions though. Overall good teacher. I would take him again.
I really don't understand y Prof Gatti is getting so many bad ratings on here... he's one of my favs and I suck at math. Ive taken every math course at ssc with him. The hw is unnecessary but it prepares u for exams. His teaching pace was fine for me & it takes me time to grasp new material. If ur good at studying from notes TAKE HIM!
I had been humiliated constantly by all of my former math teachers-I was not looking forward to it again my first sem. I was totally wrong- he is so nice and is so clear about what you're doing, how it works and why you do something a certain way. I've gotten A's for the first time ever. Definitely recommended! :D don't get book btw, just the code.
I will never ever take him again! He's not there for you at all, he's rude and does not like to help students!
Not a hard class if you go over the review, the test are typically just like the review. You have to email him if you have questions because theres no time to answer. Overall, not a bad teacher.
I wouldn't take again. ALL MATH COURSES HAVE ONLINE HOMEWORK. So taking an online class you will understand better. Now, I'm so confused because a teacher teaches me one way and then the computer is a different way. Waste of time going to class. He's lazy, uses a calculator 90% of the time and doesn't like to solve algebraically, don't take.
If you are the type of person who studies in college then you will pass all his classes. The man is a lil odd and is not a people person, but he loves to give his students all the tool we need to solve all the problems. The test it self is not harder that what he teaches. Enjoy I had an B in his clas and I'm average in Mathematic.
Professor Gatti is AMAZING! He does everything he can to help students have a better understanding. Make sure to show up for class, but if you miss a day don't worry he will go over everything again on review days. Review days were awesome they give you an understanding on what exactly will be on tests. So studying for tests was not hard at all.
If you already tried Calc at ucf and didn't get it like i did, take him. Clear lecture examples are almost exactly like tests, Online Homework sometimes shows up also. Never opened the book. I've struggled with math since college algebra but right now i need a DF on the final just to keep my B. Its Calc though, you have to put in the practice.
I took Professor Gatti for Statistical Methods. Professor Gatti is impatient during his lectures, avoiding questions from students. He has mandatory quizzes every day, and penalizes you if you are more than 5 minutes late to his class. An attendance stickler. When asked complicated homework problems, he had difficulty helping. Easy A, bad professor
This guy was great. Really nice, very helpful, and explains everything so well a 4 year old could understand the concepts. Expect homework, but it's easy. Offers plenty of chances to improve your grade. Highly recommend, especially if you suck at math like I do.
Keeps you the entire class time and gives a one question quiz each class that can't be made up.
Great teacher! I really enjoyed his class. He is clear and tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. He isn't one of those teachers that wants to trick you, he wants his students to pass. Tip: do not interrupt with a question, he doesn't like it. ( I personally really like this because you don't have the random annoying students interrupting class).
He is absolutely terrible. His form of teaching is writing a problem on the board that he hasn't taught &tells you to solve it, then goes over it &moves on. First test he told us to AIM FOR A 60. Don't take unless youre amazing at math. Spent 10+ hours/week studying &was trying to teach myself the lessons before his class. Ended up withdrawing
Chill teacher, tries to make it easy, if you want help you have to ask for it. 4 tests, final replaces lowest grade, easy 5 point in class quizzes
He always seem like he had an attitude problem as if the student suppose to know everything already. Move very fast through lectures.
This class was taken accelerated, he was very helpful with test reviews given for each test. Would let class out early sometimes but stay for the full class length to help anyone with homework or reviews. Always has quizzes in class that help your grade. DONT BE LATE TO CLASS, other than that he is a great professor. Would take another class w/ him
If you aren't good in Math i wouldn't recommend him. He doesn't really use the textbook or give notes he just puts some key terms on the board and work out problems. He does go over problems as many time as you need to though. Homework is from MyMathLab. Quizzes are short. Test are like 25 questions.
Loved taking this course with Gatti, one thing I recommend to get an A is to participate in the letters and don't miss class. If you ask the right questions and do all the homework you will be good. His exam reviews also are practically the same as the actual exams. I would take him again!
It's true he's not a people person. He gets visibly irritated by any disruption: talking, coming late, questions he's already answered. But he was an awesome teacher: explains what you need to know, why it works, and what will be on a test. Not trying to "getcha". You have to do the homework, but there's wiggle room to skip troublesome bits.
He is a great teacher of you don't plan on going on to any other math classes. You are not allowed to use your Calculator on any test. Gives tons of homework and does do a review before test (might not always be helpful). Expects you know how do certain things from previous math classes. Does not always explain things clearly.
I had Prof. Gatti for Col Alg and enjoyed his class so much I took him for STATS. This is a sit down/shut up class, he doesn't tolerate messing around or constantly leaving/being late, the usual things profs. don't like. As someone who HATES math I would 100% take his class again. He is willing to help you and gives slack on HW even if its alot
Taken him twice already for two separate math classes and whatever he does he makes it click. HW is a lot but he does cut a lot out and only takes 80-90% of it which is letting a few sections slide. What he teaches is different then the HW but so much easier to understand and use on tests. not an easy A if you don't like math but a total gem.
He's a nice guy sometimes but he teaches wayyyyyyyy too fast it's ridiculous. There's quizzes everytime you meet so get read for that. Do your homework. he does provide studyguides but they're useless it's not like the test at all.
If you're a little behind in math due to lack of practice and need to start from scratch I would highly recommend that you select another professor. He is very fast paced and cares for only ones who are at his rate. Doesn't seem to care much for those who are behind or seek additional help. Felt like I was on my own the entire time.
i was falling back in his classes, I went to him seeking help and all he could say is "try harder". He gave me no real advice or strategy to use, no practice tests or one on one help. i felt like he genuinely made time for me after visiting him pleading for him. I wish i didn't waste a semester with this professor
His tests are easy if you pay attention to his lectures and take notes. Some of his problems are very similar to tests. Homework also helps make tests easier. The quizzes are easy- he lets you use notes and they're one question in class. they help boost your grade a bit. When asking questions, he may sound a bit rude when answering.
I personally enjoyed this professor. He is VERY fast pace so if you struggle with math, this is not the professor for you. Definitely do all the homework and pay attention to his lectures. Tests can be challenging but it is based on his lectures. He doesn't seem to be patient with students who struggle.
Gatti is a little rough around the edges but a good professor. Hes very hands on, all of his problems are worked out on the board and he discusses each step. Hw seems like a lot but he only grades 80 percent so you do 80% your hw grade is 100. He drops lowest test score and replaces with final. he takes questions after class. dont be late.
I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.
He lets you stay after and guides you through problems you dont understand.
DO NOT ENROLL! First and foremost, he flies through the curriculum and tries to BELITTLE you if you have a question. LOADS of homework due every week and quizzes EVERY class. I was in a motorcycle accident (head collision) and had to do a medical withdraw and he was the only professor that I had a problem with to complete the form and I had a B...
He's a great professor overall. Yea. Do your work and you get the grade you deserve. Wish I studied more for tests, but overall the class is a solid choice.
I took him for College Algebra, and i thought it was an easy class. If you dont already have a good standing with algebraic concepts then i wouldnt recommend, because his teaching style is very laid back. There were only 4 tests in the semester , but his study guides are exactly like the tests. Some of the homework have nothing to do with the test
Take lots of notes! They will be very useful to you in taking the 5pt quizzes at the start of each class, and for doing the online hw. He usually ends class 15-30 minutes early, but you can always stick around to get help with anything you dont understand. The class is fast passed, so I wouldnt recommend missing too many classes.
The tests are based on what he teaches you and the in-class quizzes. There is homework weekly, but only takes 30 min per week to complete. To do well on the tests you need to do the homework. If you do the work you will get a good mark.
He doesn't use CANVAS, so you have to calculate your grade on your own. Gets offended when you use the restroom on "his" time. No extra credit. Flies through the material. You need to use outside resources for this class (i.e. textbook, youtube, other professors, ASC). This is one of the hardest math courses, and he doesn't make it any easier.
I took this class over the summer and received an 88. I would have easily gotten an A but I didn't take the class seriously at first. His tests are exactly like the examples he gives in class and if you don't understand something he takes the time to go over it and make sure everything is clear.
He was alright. He goes really fast through the material and skips stuff that he assumes you know from previews math classes. I was kind of afraid to ask questions because he would get kid of annoyed if he was interupted. and he will go off on you if you leave the class to go to the bathroom. Not horrible, but i wouldnt take again.
He usually cuts the class shorter than the time required. He relates the problems to real world scenarios to help you grasp the importance of the class. I unfortunately was no longer able to attend classes because of the military and he made sure I had the material and gave me extra time to complete the work.
Great math professor, one of the best I have had. He taught lectures via zoom and did a great job of thoroughly explaining things using word docs for practice problems and desmos for graphing examples. I was nervous to take calculus but he made it easy and interesting to learn!
He is a great professor and I will be taking another one of his classes next semester. This is during Covid so everything is online, but he does a great job at teaching through his online lectures. Just make sure you keep up with hw and show up to lectures.
I had fears entering Calculus, but professor Gatti's relaxed and humorous demeanor has kept things on a high note. Classes and lectures are fast paced and homework can be difficult, but he is a considerate grader. A quick note for those considering taking his class: you have to take really good notes in his lectures. Copy and write everything down!
A great overall math professor. I took him for pre-cal and liked the way he taught took him for calc and stats. He only makes you complete 80% of the homework to receive 100% points on the homework. His reviews are just the test so study them and you will do just fine.
Professor Gatti is probably the worst professor I have ever had at Seminole. He is no help whatsoever, rude, and says the most inappropriate things during class. Showed an obscene picture to a minor during class. When asked for help, gave snarky remarks and had a holier than thou attitude. The homework doesnt even match the tests. Hes the worst.
Took this class online (hybrid). Professor Gatti is fast at teaching, homework is fairly difficult but just use resources in able to do the homework, lastly he reviews before tests and gives an opportunity to Redo any test before the semester ends (choose wisely). Tests are hard but Ive done very well on the 1st test because of retake.
He's your average math class, but you will notice it's a lot easier than in grade-school. If you really pay attention, you will grasp the subject. He regarded me as one of his brightest pupils, I helped him find the standard form of a rational equation. I may be biased because I like algebra, but he's not bad at teaching.
Tough grader, but that wasn't my problem with him. I found him surly, disrespectful, and indifferent to whether his students understood or not. His lectures went very fast. He went over the test answers in class, very fast, but would not let us see the questions again, so not very helpful. Just an unpleasant guy, I would not take him again.
You're graded by 5 Tests and one average grade for your homework. His lectures tell you everything you need to know AND he spends the class before the test's going over a test review. I was prepared to fail this class but he made sure that I knew I still had a chance and helped me a lot during our final review so that I could pass.
Tests are 80% or your grade, good luck. This guy is foaming at mouth to kick you from his course "Missing part of class will count as an absence." "Students in excess of three absences may be withdrawn by the instructor." "Missing more than one exam could result in withdrawal from the course."
Prof Gatti is concise and intelligent. He is very clear about what information you need to master to do well on exams. He has an open note quiz each class which is helpful in tracking your understanding of the material. He is very accessible outside & after class for questions. Very down-to-earth, honest, and straightforward. Definitely recommend.
His class revolves around three tests look at the study guides for these three tests and pay attention in class and you will pass. I would also get to class early to prepare for the mini quizzes he has at the beginning of each class don't worry these quizzes are not hard but do count toward your grade and in most cases will help you. study and pass
He really just showed us how to do everything in statcrunch, so we didn't have to go over the complicated formulas. It's a little tough to ask him questions because he misunderstands what you ask often, but he always ends class early so you can talk to him afterward about any questions. Puts his entire lecture into a simple Word doc. Really chill.
There is an application used throughout the entire course called stat crunch and it is a game changer. There is a 2 to 3 question quiz at the beginning of each class about previous lessons and four tests total including the final. There is a study guide for each test as well as an in-class review. This was a fantastic class.
Had Gatti from Pre-Calc to Calc 3 getting a A in all, easily one of the best Math Professors I've had. His test's are fairly easy if you know your stuff and stay on it. Every class there is a short quiz every class that is probably the most challenging part of his course. I can't recommended him enough as a Professor if you can take him do.
I really like Mr. Gatti because he does extra credit and his tests are pretty easy. I know that Calc 2 is hard but there are 4 tests in total and good news is that at the end of the term he does retake 1 test to improve the grade.
dont take this guy, he goes way to fast and does really care if you actually absorb the information, if it wasnt for the fact that I went to the math lab and had a cool classmate , i dont know how i would have suvived his class. he's also type rude and nonchalant. he doesnt care. I wouldnt recommend him whatsoever
Prof Gatti makes the material easy to grasp through Statcrunch and real-world examples. Quizzes and test reviews ensure you're on track. Unstuck ai was a great study aid alongside the provided resources.
I took this class for Statistics At SSC. Number 1, you have a 3 question quiz every single class, only exception is test day. There's 3 tests a year not including the final exam. He moves way too fast. Hope you printed out the notes because he only gives you about 2 minutes to write and solve everything before he gets bored and wants to teach. NO!
Meh okay professor. Kind of unaccommodating, mean, slightly harsh grader but It could have been worse. At least his course directions aren't confusing and they're kind of reasonable.
He's not a great professor, but he's not god awful. He goes through his lectures way too fast and his resources provide absolutely nothing in terms of studying material, so be prepared to look up most of the course material on the internet. He's also not very helpful in general. Wouldn't recommend, but as a last resort, he's not the worst.
This guy just rushes through practice problems and barely teaches anything. He's not awful, just very lackluster and his classes make me want to drop out of college and sell crack. Decent difficulty if you study on your own. He doesn't seem to care very much unless you're already exceling in class. Not awful but definitely not my first option.
He's a good teacher, nothing special about his classes but he gives the material you need to pass the class with minimal issues. As long as you do the homework and study a little bit you will be completely fine in this class.
He's very good at explaining concepts in an easy way. He uploads the class notes and test reviews. if you can do the review, you can do the test easily. Took him for precal and plan to take him for calculus, so would recommend him.
He was kind of easy once I got used to his teaching style. All of his teaching in class was done on Microsoft word which was weird. Made like 5+ major mistakes in his calculations each class. Graded on attendance and quizzes every day. Tests are easy because reviews are exactly like the test. But all of the negatives are worth it because no final.
If you're looking for an easy way to pass the class I would take this guy, the tests are really easy and he does do an okay job teaching what is on the test. However if your trying to be prepared for higher level classes do not take him, he skips over so much stuff and doesn't teach any of the concepts. He teaches for the test not anything else.
Very rude to students and very loosely taught the material. If someone had a question, he would add rude comments to his answer if you had to ask. Good luck if you have a busy life; attendance is mandatory due to the number of quizzes he assigns for every class.
Great professor just don't be late or else you will miss the quiz that are given once class starts. The quiz average is one of two other grades other than the tests. He does post notes after class but is not extensive.
Professor Gatii explains statistics in a way that is very easy to understand. He summarizes each concept/section into a simple Word Doc that he fills out in class and uploads afterwards. Each class begins with a quick open-note quiz consisting of one or two questions from the previous class, so try not to miss too many classes.
