He's good. A+
Interesting! Be prepared! He's unique.
He is a awesome teacher worth having if you want to learn about basics of law. Will keep you awake with moose stories and as long as you listen to his lectures you will ace the exams. Willing to help if you need it!

He is a very good teacher. Not too hard, but not too easy. Learned alot - just keep an open mind. Tests are not too hard either.
There are no tricks when it comes to tests, basically his lectures, which are very interesting. He won't say screw you, you're out of luck...he'll help. Cute old man will wear his VCU sweatshirt to be like us. He's the Dean and I wish the other professors would take after him.
Undergraduate Dean for the Business School teaches one course. He is a good guy and knows his stuff. No book and no homework. Go to the lectures take notes about his lectures, the course is easy if you do this. One of the easiest and fun courses if you do this.
Great!
This teacher is wonderful. I would love to have him for all of my courses. I love the moose stories and his tests can make you giggle. Dr. Griggs has a great sense of humor. No homework, no book needed in class, although there are reference pages to go over for tests. A+++++
Best prof at VCU! A must take!
GO GRIGGS! Only professor who has been so funny I was almost in tears...no suprises on tests, they are exactly what he talks about in class, I never even opened the book. But that means you have to go to class, which was an awesome experience every time! I'll never look at a moose the same again!
So so funny. highly recommend. Don't bother buying the book but GO TO CLASS.
i love this professor, hope there are more professors like mr griggs, he taught me how to love Business Law.... when he lectures you can tell he loves what he teaches. and his test are all from his lectures... you must come to class and take notes if you want a good grade other than that... nothing else to do but enjoy and laugh at this guy's jokes
He is an awesome teacher!!! Funny and so interesting that its great!! I recommend this teacher to everyone.
Change your schedule around jsut to have this guy, he is that awesome. goofy cute old guy that makes business law fun. Jokes alot, tests are quite simple as long as you go to class. DONT BUY THE BOOK.
Going to class is a must. Other than that really easy. Would recommend the book as it provides clarity to some of the concepts. Take good notes and yes, his off the wall examples are on the test, so pay attention. Also has an obesession with Moose. Great Class.
One of the best professors I've had at VCU. Must go to class and take good notes. His exams are hilarious and he loves the moose! Oh, don't buy the book!
While Dr. Griggs is a great and is a quirky old man with his stories ranging from Henny Penny, his in-laws and his obvious preoccupation with the Moose his exams are at times random. Questions such as Turtle is the Native American name for the United States come to mind. If you think this is an Easy A, think again. take careful Notes or else!!!!
Take Griggs, not Usry or anyone else. Unlike the other 323 profs, Griggs' lecture is clear & to the point & there are no surpises on the exams. If you are not a good note taker & you skip alot, he is not the prof. for you. Tells funny, relevant stories which makes the connection to legal concepts. He seems to really enjoy teaching. Never even bought the book, didn't need to.
This professor is a nice and funny guy! His jokes and stories keep your attention and sometimes makes a connection to legal concepts with the stories. And to restate what is already here "Don't buy the book!" Otherwise enjoy the class!
Class is not hard, but take GOOD NOTES. Every single thing said in class may show up on the exams. Lots of opportunity for extra credit too, don't let it go to waste.

Griggs rocks! Still remember a joke he cracked about a freshman throwing themselves off of Rhodes Hall because of tuition going up again. Just take good notes and the exam will be easy.
Griggs is the best teacher I have ever had thus far in my college career. He will point you on to the blissful narrow road of life with his stories of experience. He is unlike any professor you have ever had. What are you waiting for? Sign up for his class all ready!
I do like the guy and definetely would recommend him. He is funny, easy, and makes the course as interesting as possible. However, my final average was an 89.9 and I ended up with a B.
The coolest dean ever the first day you know that you have signed up for the right class. However many people say not to buy the book however this is true and untrue if you want a A get the book if you want a B don't buy the text other than that enjoy. Take notes like a reporter though
Was the best teacher ive had at VCU in the school of Business, he is an Excellent professor if your signing up for Law take Dr.Griggs he is the best
If you have to take MGMT323, take Griggs! Opened the book once... Griggs explains the concepts very clearly so that you'll do well on the exams. I loved sitting in his lectures and listening to all of his stories. Especially love the moose.
Great professor. Tells lots of stories in class, but they are all true and used on the tests. come to class and take good notes and you'll do fine
He is a fascinating and personable man, and his class is fun and informative. An easy A if you go to class and have even mild intelligence. Unfortunately, you learn next to nothing about business law. Fun stories and plenty of information, but this class is more novelty than substance. Gives tons of extra credit and really is a delightful professor
Best class I've taken at VCU. No use for the book at all. Test come straight from lecture, take good notes.
If all professors were half as inspiring as Walter Griggs, I would never want leave VCU. Seeing as how they aren't, I may never be able to leave VCU.
Griggs is the man. Tells awesome stories...which are on tests! Take notes, go to class and it'll be super smooth sailing! would TOTALLY recommend! He's also very endearing and I want him to be my adopted grandpa.
For those interested, I had Walt Griggs in 1972 for Business Law. Of ALL my instructors at VCU, he was one of the 2 best I ever had. Sign up for his courses,...and ATTEND, if you want to learn. He is also a great Historian and can tell you much about the tragic collapse of the C&O tunnel under Church Hill.
Griggs is an awesome teacher. He makes the class fun and tells stories to help you remember the material. I loved his class
Gotta love Griggs! Take him!
Simply put, Dr. Griggs is the best. Enjoy his lectures and don't worry with the book at all.
BEST TEACHER & CLASS!!!! you really dont need the book all you need is to go to class and take notes or just be in class. He is funny and as long as you go to class you can get an A.theres no way to get anything lower than a B.
Great teacher!
Griggs is the man. I haven't had such an entertaining teacher possibly ever. He tells great stories and the only class that I truly enjoy. I never miss his class and never even bought the book. You won't regret taking his class.
Griggs is awesome. Take him if you can. His lectures are always funny and interesting. His test come straight from the lectures so make sure you take notes on every thing he says, even his off the wall ridiculous stories.
Griggs is the best Business Law teacher at VCU. PLEASE TAKE GRIGGS.He's funny and down to earth with lots of stories and jokes. he doesn't used the book at all. He gives out extra credit and curves the test. Easy A/B in his class.
Best Teacher I had. Truly enjoyed His class. attendance is not mandatory but come to class if u wanna pass his test. makes it impossible to fail his class. anybody who fails his class cnt blame nobody but themselves. gives extra credit to add on to your final grade for the semester.
Mr. Griggs is the best teacher I have ever had in my entire life! He is so witty and nice, and really cares about the students. You will learn alot about moose & other silly things, but also a lot about law!
This professor is by far the best I have ever had at VCU. Test cover material discussed in class. Take notes and just listen to what he says. Will have no problem getting an A if you go to class
If you write down everything he says you will get an A. Period.
Griggs is by far the best professor I've had @ VCU so far. He is so funny and definitely keeps the class interesting. No homework and if you take notes in class there is no doubt you will pass every single test.
Teacher of the year.
I thought I would be bored out of my mind in this class but I could not have been more wrong. He is funny and explains the legal concepts through factual, hysterical, stories. Take good notes, don't miss class, learn a bit about moose, and you'll be sure to get an A.
Dr. Griggs is great and funny! do NOT buy the book...you won't need to open it EVER! No homework. COME TO CLASS, the tests come directly from the notes. Make sure to to write down all the case's he goes over. He LOVES moose, get used to it!
Awesome awesome guy
Show up to class and take notes. You will get an A. He loves to tell stories, and most students love to hear them. Knows everything about Richmond and the Moose. Best professor I have had at my time at VCU. Take his class, its worth it just for the stories. Dont buy the book!
NO BOOK! Attendance isn't mandatory but you really NEED to come to class everyday b/c tests are directly from the notes. Tests are generally basic (i.e. mult. choice of definitions etc.), fun class!
The best professor I ever had. I loved going to his class and listening to his stories. His tests are easy and he's a wonderful professor.
GREAT CLASS. Awesome professor & person. Come to class EVERYDAY. Test material is verbatim from his lectures. Tells stories to get material across. Come to class, take notes, study and one can easily get an A. Do the extra credit too!
This has been my favorite class while attending VCU! He is awesome and is a very nice guy. Wish more of my classes were like this one! He tells real court cases to help you learn things. His class is always entertaining.
Best Professor ever!! Enjoyed going to class. Great guy and very entertaining. Tells stories to understand the terms. Doing well depends entirely on going to class, listening and taking notes. Test questions given in lecture! Highly recommend that you take this class!!
He was the best professor I have had so far at VCU! I def. recommend him!
What everyone else said -- tells stories to illustrate concepts; write down all of them. They're on the exam. Thick VA accent -- he should narrate movies Morgan Freeman-style. That said, I got a D on the first exam, and C on the midterm, don't imagine I did so well on the final, and forgot the extra credit. I got a B. No idea how, but I'll take it.
The class was honestly really enjoyable but you have to go to class to pass, he doesn't use the book so don't bother buying it! Easy A if you listen and take notes.
AWSOME PROFESSOR! Attend his class and take a lot of notes. There is no HW or projects just pass the tests and you will be fine. He also goes over everything before a test.
Nice guy, can be funny, weird sense of humor but he makes the material so boring. And he uses weird examples that make it difficult to take notes. But the tests are fairly easy. I studied the bare minimum for Test 2 and managed a B.
Really nice and funny guy. Just come to class and take notes and you'll do well.
Hilarious guy, great class. It's very easy- if you don't get at least a "B", you should drop out of college. Don't buy the textbook, it is needed for nothing.
Amazing Professor, amazing class. Easy A and you'll have a great time. Thank you for everything Professor!!! Must TAKE!!!
LOVE professor Griggs. He makes this class so much fun and totally interesting. Go to class and write down EVERY example he talks about in class. He WILL make you remember it for the test. I'm a B/C student and got an A with no problem. He also give extra credit that adds 3 points onto your final grade (i.e. 87 +3 = 90 in the class) take this man!
If you take notes from the lectures and study for the test you will pass the test. Interesting lectures and a real nice guy. This is one of the best profs I have ever had. P.S. He likes moose.
Best Professor at VCU! Listen to his lectures and take notes. Tests are straight from lectures and extremely simple.
Great teacher. Easy and interesting leactures. Take note of the examples he gives and pass tests easily.
BEST professor you will take at VCU. Griggs is the funniest, most helpful, interesting professor I have ever taken. Super easy class if you take notes... even if its minimal. gives crazy curves on the tests.. like a 10 point curve each test. If you dont past his class with an A you probably didn't try at all. You'll really enjoy him & his lectures!
Very funny guy. GO TO CLASS, GO TO CLASS, GO TO CLASS!!! Write down EVERY story he tells (these are on the tests). He tells stories to illustrate examples and you MUST remember them. Made class interesting!
Class was very entertaining a very cool professor write down all the stories, because test are going to be just on court cases. One of coolest teachers at vcu plus doesnt require book.
Dr. Griggs is a cool guy and has an interesting class, but his tests are ridiculous. They don't test your knowledge of the material, they test if you remember the name of a gay penguin he talked about for 5 seconds in class.
1-buy a tape recorder, listen to his classes while driving, walking, where ever. Everything from tests are notes or what he says in class. Lots of interesting stories-mostly true--allot of fun.Every class, 10 min before, people are crowded around door, trying to get past class leaving to get good seat. I've never seen that, with any professor.
Griggs is cool. Don't skip this class, though. Nothing on the tests comes from the textbook; it's all from his lectures.
Professor Griggs is a wonderful teacher. He makes class very interesting and if you have any questions, he will get back to you that night.
TAPE EVERY WORD AND LISTEN TO HIM INSTEAD OF RADIO--YOU'LL GET AN A+, if you don't come to class, no way you could get any better than a C--he gives examples with case vs whoever, and if you aren't there, you won't know which case or the outcome. If you don't know something or are confused, e-mail him. He got back to me as last as 10:45p.m.
Great professor and really loves what he does. If you go to class and pay attention you will get an A. His tests are not hard if you just read the notes. He will ask questions about random names or something that might be in a story. He is a fun teacher. I recommend him to anyone.
SUPER nice, funny, and interesting teacher. However, you never know what to expect on the tests. You HAVE to come to class. Some of the test questions are just about the stories he tells.
Take notes in class and you will pass.
No book needed, he tells a lot of stories you just need to take notes on
Professor Grigg's teaching style is different, he tells stories to get his point across which can be difficult if you're easily distracted in class. TAKE LOTS OF NOTES. His stories all have a meaning/ lesson in them and on the tests he mentions the stories MULTIPLE times. Most of the test is true/false, so theres 50% chance of getting it right
I could listen to Professor Griggs talk all day and he is super funny. He will definitely make the class interesting and his test are easy but if your dont come to class dont expect to pass.
His teaching style is very different. It seemed like he was telling stories the whole class but they will end up on the tests. Show up to class and take good notes and you'll do fine. We only had three tests for our grades so take them seriously. Gave great study guides too.
Just go to class and take notes. Easy A. Barely any tests, and they're not hard if you listen to the lectures. Griggs is funny & his lectures are actually really interesting (all past court cases as examples). No textbook required.
Gives case stories in class as examples which are easy to follow and sometimes pretty funny.
Attending class is a must even though he doesn't take attendance, the test material comes from his lectures and stories. Funny guy, he also offers extra credit and gives study guides for each test.
Really interesting class. if you don't go to class you will fail. tests are very similar to the study guide he offers. Not difficult if you go to class. He is super old and really funny. The class is super confusing at first but don't drop it until after the first exam. he also offers extra credit and curves test grades. no textbook, lecture only.
Older man who tells stories/gives examples of laws. i definitely would recommend Griggs, he's a really nice man. tries to make us laugh and doesn't ask for much. 3 tests, very chill. he curves, gives extra credit. there is no reason u should get lower than a B. apply yourself slightly and u will get an A.
Best professor ever!!!! I'm dumb and I got an A in that class! TAKE HIM!
Great professor. Spends the entire course telling funny and interesting stories relating to law. Hands out study guides that help a lot for his tests. Very sweet guy.
