Reasonable. Takes FULL advantage of class time (entire 3 hours & over)
prepare to be bored out of your mind, for 3 hours
IF U can, avoid taking haccounting with him
He made basic accounting very confusing and frustrating!!
Not a bad prof but boring! How can you stay awake with his monotone voice?
avoid him at all costs!!!!!
Monotone....your pillow will need a pillow...
Get the text on tape, its the same thing!
Might seem hard but he hooks you up at the end
I didn't learn anything in his class, he shouldn't teach introductory accounting
Famous quote "We have alot to do" thats what acc100 is all about
Accounting is a language, thats what he always says
He's easy if u do the work...
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
he'll do a whole question on the board...... and then start erasing everything
Has a good heart and cares...he's not given enough credit
this course if very similar to grade10 accounting but he doenst teach
"We have alot to do" says it all
Kind and willing to help. You just need to ask.
Easy term tests but watch out on the final
just kinda mumbles....tough midterm tests
boring, monotone, unnecessarily makes things harder than they have to be
I was lucky to have taken accounting in highschool, otherwise I would have lost.
Try to make this teacher laugh, that is the brainteaser
I THINK HE'S DEPRESSED! boring, unclear, seems like he hates teaching...
Boring, always saying that accounting is a language, but a good guy
He was new to Ryerson wanted us to KNOW all chapters - tests were insane
Whats the answer?... its forth week if you don't know now you better drop ou
poor teacher
Confusing teaching style, unclear and difficult to comprehend
Can't teach, wrost prof 4 1st year stud. lot's of reviewing to do Kakkose.
Doea not seem to care too much. Tests are hard but he responds to your questions
very unclear... mumbles....dont sit in the last row in his class!
good prof, fair test. For those who complain (read the text) its that simple!
good teacher, very helpful notes... could be more enthusiastic
he does not try to help students, by going too fast through the material
worst teacher ever !
horrid teacher...anyone who says just read the text...take distance education
Not bad. Flies through material however for a first year, first semester course
If I knew the stuff before I go to class, I would be teaching him instead
bad...just very bad....learn more by staying home
Not clear about material. Expects us to know all the stuff as we're accountants
Good prof. Very fair. Come to class prepared!!!!
He sounds like he's half asleep while he teaches, he assumes we're accountants
This is an intro accounting class not a damn... chartered accounting UFE exam
He assumed his students had prior accounting experience. He didn't take this into consideration when teaching.
His lectures are waaaaay too fast. He doesn't show step by step instruction on how he gets his figures when he takes up homework. He puts one figure on the board but doesn't say ...you get this number by adding up fixed costs and variable costs...
He is in a tight battle with Missios for Boringist Teacher Award.
Bring a pillow. No wait... bring two. Your pillow will need a pillow.
Expects us to know everything as if we're the accounting teacher. Boring as hell, I need like 2 large coffees to stay up. Serious.
Have trouble to understand this course in his class. Tests are not difficult. Test on basic concept. Have to work fast on the final exam. (Accounting Tutor can be very helpful if you are lost after the 3rd class!)
He seems to know his stuff, but has trouble passing that knowledge on to his students. His teaching style can put the most motivated student into a state of mental or physical sluggishness.
He knows his stuff, but it's not uncommon for him to fly through a chapter in an hour. Stay on top of the ball, do the work, and you'll do fine. He has high standards and you will get the mark you deserve. Lenient at times. Two great semesters.
he can fly at times, he does know his stuff BUT he ALSO MAKES lots of mistakes...tricky test but not to crazy JUST make sure u DONT miss a CLASS not even the 1 hour ones
He's gr8! He knows his stuff and as long as you keep doing ur work..you'll be fine!
He NEVER answers the question you ask. He doesn't no how to teach.... NEVER take the course with him, caz its VERY VERY VERY hard to pass the course, because since he doesn't teach the material properly, you'll end up FAILing the FINAL EXAM
One of my worst ever he's too fast not very approchable and he makes acc soo boring
Krystia seems to know the stuff, but he CAN'T teach at all. He jumps around, back and forth in the textbook trying to teach everything at once. He expects everything to be PERFECT, and he expects u to know everything. Bottom line......HE CAN'T TEACH!!!!!!
All I have to say is, if you don't have to take this course, don't. The only way to keep awake in class was to fantasize about the cute guy sitting near me.
switch out of his class if you can!!!
hes a dick... get out asap, towsely is way better, (so i heard)
If you think Paul Missios (professor of ECN104 and 204) was boring, then you definitely need to get out of this class. Advice: drop by Second Cup or Tim Hortons for an extra large coffee before going to this class
knows his stuff but boring. hard stuff too. seems mean but is actually quite nice if u see him in his office. first test is the hardest, second easier, final exam easiest! so just hang in there!
Bottom line: he cannot teach! I even caught myself getting confused with the material after one of his 30 minute blab sessions. On the break I thought of high school and another ACC course I had taken and summed up his blatant confusion in two sentences.
Hes a good prof. Accounting is hard to begin with so he does his best i had Towsley before and he sucked. Krystia takes his time and explains everything to make sure we get it. Gives notes and labs to work on for our benefit. Get him hes good
worst prof i ever had by far. if you can do anything about it, switch out of his class!!! boring teacher, expects you to know everything, and doesnt help students at all.
When you get to know accounting more, you would realize he is a fantastic teacher. He tries his best to explain everything clearly with reasonable methods.I like his phrase"Accounting is a Language course, you need to put day-to-day efforts on it.&quo
this guy knows his acc & he will repeat a 1000 times if thats what it takes to make you understand. he is a hard teacher but if you go to him during his office hours he is a totally diff person - very nice & approachable. doesn't comepare to towsley !
if u thought u knew ur stuff when u walked in .. he's abt to confuse the hell outta u .. makes no sense .. only went to like 4 classes but got a decent grade .. i suggest a tutor .. and fast
he is a good teacher. i think he teachs good, but you need to have some accounting backgraoud brfore you go to his class. you could get very good help during his office hour for sure. i did!!!!!!
if you want to be rudely criticized then this is ur prof. He NEVER and i mean NEVER says anything positive. If you haven't had the time to do the chapter for the week he'll say something like "u may as well get ur money back cuz it's too late, you'll
worst prof I have ever had
Worst teacher I have ever had. Completely NEGATIVE about everything and repeats over and over again that many people are going to fail the class. Thats because he is a horrible teacher!
This guy is a dick. I've had good teachers and bad all throughout my academic career, but Krystia blows.
Pretty Bad... He makes fun of you when your wrong, No one is ever right, he always needs to add some stupid unimportant fact to make sure that your never 100% correct. PS: Quizes will happen the very next class, after Midterms, so if you fail one, you fail both! Hate him.
Let me tell you guys something:this is university. If you don't do your work, you will fail.Acc requires a lot of practice.Krystia is an awesome prof because he actually teaches! He is very tough, but so is life so deal with it.He is also an extremely nice man.If you want to learn, take his class!!!!
Great teacher. The reason why most people dislike him is because he gets right into the material in the 1st week expecting everyone to kno their stuff. If you want to take this prof, make sure you know you acnting (did it in high school) and he'll be a breeze as he prepares you are anything u run into
He wants to make sure you understand the basic of accounting therefore he is ready to repeat those basic ideas as long as needed. Still he is a hard professor and don't expect him to be "nice".

He's better then what people say he is to be. Yah he likes to make fun of you if your not paying attention but maybe you should pay attention. The class is very easy as long as you go to class and do your homework you'll be fine.
At first you will find him to be mean but after about 3 weeks he gains a sense of humor, so wait it out. He gives awesome notes at the begining of the semester so hold on to those. I never read the book or did any homework, just read his notes & went to class and came out with a B.. enough said...
This was my favourite class, and THE best professor...bottom line, do your homework and ask when you need help, (he is soooo helpful) and I guarantee you'll do great,...if you don't, accounting is not your thing!!!!!
I think Krystia is a good prof. You just have to keep up with the work and you're fine. He is an excellent teacher and I recommend him for Acc100.Make sure you are up to date in this course, It's easy to lag behind!!
He's a good teacher, though he expects you to know everything written in his notes at any given time. Keep on your toes, he'll make fun of you if you're wrong. All in all, he's okay if you go to class and act like you know what you're doing/paying attention.
horrible horrible horrible
this course requires a lot of studying in order to do well. the teacher is cruel to students and makes you feel worthless if you cannot answer the questions properly. my advice is to find a better prof before going ahead with this guy
Kows his stuff. Presentation style is very mono-tone so it helps to read the chapters ahead of time so you don't get lost or fall asleep.
He has high expectations, but he should. He's a good teacher. His students need to work harder to keep up. They're lazy.
His tone is very boring and made me sleepy,i dont really like him
He does not encourage his students. He actually puts them down.
I LIKE THIS GUY, HE WILL MAKE FUN OF YOU IF YOUR STUPID, HE WILL PUT U ON THE SPOT IF YOU GO SLEEP, THIS GUY IS A TRU AS.S H,o.le . ACCT IS VERY HARD AND THE HARDEST FROM ALL COURSES, PICK A TEACHER NOT BY RATINGS, BUT CLARITY SINCE EXAMS ARE ALL SAME, HE TEACHES GOOD, BUT HIS TEST ARE HARD NO FREE MARKS, leaRN BY YOURSELF IS THE SOLUTION
chalk up another A for me. i destroyed this course. only negative thing about him is that he's super-monotone. make sure your loaded up on caffeine in his class. it's important you stay awake though, because he tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. tests were challenging, but i killed them all, because i LISTENED in class. overall, great prof
Very bad prof. Avoid him at all costs.
Horrible professor. Put me to sleep with his mono-tone. Couldn't hear him. Never moved or walked, stood in one stop for 3 hours. Didn't explain anything and got mad if you couldn't understand. Just thought we were all stupid. I hate him. DROP HIS CLASS NOW. unless you like sleeping for $500.
I love Walter, anybody who doesn't like him are just upset cause they failed accounting...which is their own fault
Do not enroll in Walter's class: chances are very slim that you'll pass his tests;you have to be minimum Ph.D.to pass them.On the 1st mid-term you get very complicated case studies, instead of multiple choices & j/e ( like other kind professors do)It doesn't matter whether you study hard or not:you won't pass final exam.
Amazing prof. Although he's monotone and will make fun of you for asking stupid questions he knows what he is talking about and if you ask for help outside of class he is more than willing to answer questions. Midterms and exams are not hard as long as you pay attention and do some homework.
Totally unfair on test dates, waste to much time taking up homework, breifly explains lesson, to old fasion, class involvement does not improve the class performance, frankly wastes time.
He was horrible, you couldn't hear him when he talked b/c he spoke so lightly, he always told the class we were all going to fail, & when the class average for the 1st midterm was too high, according to him, he made the 2nd one a million times harder. He's a horrible prof & definitely shouldn't be teaching first year. I didn't like him at all.
good prof explains in detail over and over again.intimidating at first but he loosened up .tests are killers pay attn in class
Extrememly hard prof. Makes fun of you if you ask questions, and completely embarrasses you for them. His tests are ridiculous. This prof says ACC is a language... (that he expects you to know already). My GPA dropped completely. GET ANY OTHER PROF!!!
Quite possibly the worst teacher/professor I've ever had. He puts people on the spot and beats the answer out of them. I remeber once he spent about 10 minutes with this girl who couldn't answer a question. I hate this guy, class participation wastes time and I didn't learn anything from him so I just skipped his lectures and read the book.
"Early feedback will be ensured since the first test will be in week 4". After delaying this test for 2 weeks, we just got notification that Walter has somehow destroyed the scantron cards irreversibly. He now wants us to rewrite the test AFTER our midterm exam, right in the midst of 5 other exams. Thanks Walter!
He is better then deutsch. Have to do your homework to under stuff. It is an accounting course so don't expect an easy ride with him. Try to sit at the front. He is WAY EASIER then deutsch.
WORST prof i've ever had...
Very unclear and hard to understand. Not very helpful at all. Made my GPA drop dramatically, I had to retake the course and passed with another prof and I passed with flying colours.
Walter is a good teacher the only problem is that he is not the loudest prof. I learned a lot from his class and did well. Accounting is one of the courses were if you think the professor can teach you everything you are mistaken. You have to do your reading and do some problems but Walter is a good guy to learn things from. Better then Deutsch.
maybe cuz i never had this deutsch. but walter doesn't have clear notes. u must do the reading ur self. cares more about theory than the actual work (70%test one theory, 30%on the work. this is bloody accounting! we should do statement, instead of talking about how it work)
Well educated prof, know what's hes teaching but teaches material fast, you need to understand the concept and what he's saying. He asks class to participate and picks on people until they get the answer right. READ THE TEXT and DO THE HOMEWORK, GO TO CLASS. overall great prof!
reading other peoples comments made me terrified of taking this course. however, i learned that he is not so bad. i just did my homework, listen to him during the lectures and i was fine and passing. he picks on people until they get the correct answer which is a good thing instead of telling us right away. overall, HES A REALLY GOOD PROF.
He was terrible, DO NOT TAKE HIM
Don't take his class. This guy randomly picks people to answer questions and that would be bad enough BUT he relentlessly holds the person. His class is boring. Unless you suffer from insomnia, don't take his class.
Not as hard has people make him out to be. Yes he will pick on u. Yes he is pretty rude. Yes he can be a prick. But if you do assigned probs u can pass n never see him again. I did pretty well on his first test, midterm and the final and ended up with a very decent mark. Just do your work.
Some girl had strepthroat and he picked on her to answer the question and then made her repeat it. Brutal. Take his class only if you took accounting in high school.
awesome proff very helpful but very hard
Terrible! Students are doing all the work he should be doing. Doesn't teach in class, only take up homework. I would never take a course he teaches again. "Remember guys, this is a language course here".... lol
This guy was a total ****, if you couldnt answer a question on the first day he'll directly tell you to drop the course and thatd youd fail. What a ****! Just came in and acted tough****.
Very good prof. Obviously you have to learn and practice the material just like he says. I dont get why people complain about him beeing a hard prof. If you know the stuff you know it. Just pratice it like he says and you will have no problem
Not a bad prof. Keep up with the homework, don't fall behind. People who complain about him are people who r too lazy to put time into the homework.
Proff is ok, he could use better teaching techniques, but accounting is one subject where u need to practice a lot. He was a fair proff over all, it will be a tough course if u dont follow class or miss lectures
He is annoying and very boring which is why u dont do well in his class. try to read text alone u will get lost sometimes and in class u cant focus=> 40% fail rate and he is proud of it i dunno why!! idiot talking about accounting "language"...go teach philosophy of accounting
A PROFESSOR THAT DOESN'T TEaCH....HE JUST TALKSA AND MOCKS YOU IF YOU DON'T ANSWER HIM...KARMA IS A ****!
I admit this guy is boring and he does tend to say "You Will Fail/ Drop this guy NOW if you dont know this by now!" However, if you read the material and keep up with the work, he can be easy. If you are able to pass the midterm and stay in his class afterwards he does bcome pretty good of a prof. Study HARD!
I found his approach very interesting and helpful. Also he zeroed in on the key concepts and clarified the confusing areas. I find him to be a very good teacher, which is more than I can say for other profs I've had.
boring high fail rate ...why make something simple complicated..its only acc100...if he were to teach a high level acc..i bet the failure rate will be even more higher..or maybe he cant teach?
Tries to make sure everyone is following by asking for feedback and tells everyone that doesn't raise their hands (80% of the class) that they're going to fail. If you give the wrong answer, he'll put you down. Take his class if you're into masochism. Do not take the monday class, because it rushes through the material. Odds will be against you.
He is a Great Prof. People who rated him low , just didn't try hard. You have to be focused in his class, do your homework*(very important), check the solutions he provided in Wiley Plus, and practice. Seat in the front row, otherwise you won't hear what he is talking about (he mumbles ). In his class you should Focus, Focus, Focus.
For those taking his class: Read the first three chapters and start doing the exercises from day one, or before. DO NOT wait for him, HE WILL NOT TEACH YOU ACCOUNTING, YOU HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF USING THE BOOK. There is a reason he plasters the walls with tutor ads at the beginning: He doesn't teach, he just irons the wrinkles off the tough spots.
doesnt teach much, just goes over textbook in very little detail
Very straight forward, no BS prof, tells it like it is. Its ACC, not supposed to be easy. Do the work and pay attention, thought he was very helpful regarding the final exam content. Midterm is extremely easy.
Great Guy. The final is super hard (watch your time), midterm is ok.
Does not address the class completely. Fair marker.
strict but ok
If you want to fail ACC100, just take this prof. I attended all his classes, did most of the homeworks and finally get 50 in the mid-term. He used his unclear handout to teach and you need to read the whole book for understaning the concepts by yourself. He covers my ass!
he's ok. strict but fair.he even smiled at me once. i hardly opened a book before midterm but passed it(56%) jus by remembering watever i could from the lectures. studied for another test(but too bad wrong chapters) and got 76%.. guys, its all up to u whether to try harder and succeed or jus fail or settle for less..
Had him for 100 and rated him low, back to fix that. ACC is hard on any level, and I never thought I'd major in it. Krystia can seem tough, but after four other acc profs, I can say he is crystal clear. Makes sure everyone is following, or warns them they'll fail. His attitude made me work harder, now I'm glad he was tough...
wants students to succeed, does lots of examples :) can be a little frightening (you dont really want to answer questions), if you dont pay attention he addresses you in front of class. however, nice guy if you do the work and show you want to learn. exams and tests are VERY fair. would recommend him.
He's tough, but fair. He will help you if you ask. Sometimes picks on ppl in class. The material is presented clearly, goes over the problems over and over, so if you attend class, you'll do well on the exam. Multple choice tests are straight from online practice quizzes, and problems on the final are the same ones he tought in class.
his midterm is easy but dont count on it b/c you can easy fail final and you will fail the course, he jump from one subject to another you will be so comfuse in his class, try no to take acc with him at all unless you have no other options, i think ryerson shoudl stop him from teaching accounting
Krystia is one of those "strict, but fair" proffs. He is used to have a lot of ppl fail, not because he's mean, but because accounting is a hard course. Read the book, and go to class. He explains everything pretty well. A real pro in his subject. Outside of class he's pretty nice, but in class he's pretty strict. Go to class and do the work!
He has the most bizarre teaching method ever which makes you very unenthusiastic to attend his lectures. He constantly picks on people to answer questions out of the blue (that's why you have to sit in the middle of his class so he cant spot you as easy!) Very Fair marker though. If your new to accounting you should probably switch out.
he scares me :( will pick on u and make u feel stupid if u dont no the answer. but is a fair marker.
he knows his stuff but he is DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH! his teaching only makes accounting more confusing because he is very unorganize and make is hard to follow along. if you plan to take this prof then you might as well not even show up, its better if you read and teach yourself!
Amazing teacher. Just make sure you do the homework and read, that way you won't be picked on and you won't feel stupid because you will be prepared. He only asks questions to make sure everyone understands. Do your work and you will get an A.
Really good prof who can be a jerk and pick on u but only so u will learn and be better at what you do. Do the work he tells you and make sure that you do the online quizes and you will be fine. Recommend taking him if you want to learn otherwise find someone else if you want a 50.
his teaching style was AMAZING, and his main concern was reaching out to people, making sure they understood. - he'd repeat methods 10 times for your help! BUT, the final exam is dreadful, 3 hours and i never finished. went in with an A, came out with a B. So.. please kill the final :)
Makes mistakes when teaching and puts you on the spot hard. His tests and exams are pretty hard, but i suggest you go to class if you want to get a good grade.
More concerned about finishing class on time rather than answering student's questions. Very stuck up and completley ignorant. The worst part is when he picks on you like no tomorrow. Purposly enjoys to make people look like an idiot for not knowing an answer. Not a fair marker and it's almost like a bother for him to teach.expects way too much! :@!
He's a hard teacher and he picks on people out of nowhere. This is a hard class, especially if you haven't taken accounting before. It's not something you'll understand just from attending classes but skipping will just make things worse. The effort you put into it is what you put is what you'll get out of this class.
Nice shoes....Love the collared shirt tucked into the cargo pants. To top it off, he has a bad ass pair of airwalk skate shoes. Does he think hes twelve years old? I dont know why he still teaches because he acts like he hates every minute of class more than the students. which is a lot!
I enjoyed his class. The tests are more than fair. The final is a little chalenging.Went with an A+ ended up with an A-.Do the homework, study hard and you will get a good mark.
Great prof. He does pick on students a lot, but i think it's because he has taught this course MANY times and he is frustrated with students time and time again. Midterm and final very similar to online questions. I would recommend this prof.
He doesnt teach very well. His midterm was brutal class average was in the 50's. I dont think he marks too fairly. He is never enthusiastic about teaching the material.. if you plan on taking his class... you'd either drop out of it like half of my class did or wished you never took it
AVOID THIS PROF BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE! This prof is by far the worst prof that you can take at Ryerson for any Acounting course. His teaching style is borrowing and he could careless about the success of his students, not to mention whether you understand hes teaching style. His notes are Extremely difficult to follow and theres a high failure rate
Horrible. Mumbles, does not repeat material, seems reluctant to meet students during office hours. Tries to avoid responding to emails. Seems not to care about students success, will pick on people on purpose, but won't call on you if he knows you know the answer. Does not speak up and snaps at you if you suggest he talk louder or get a microphone.
Class average for the midterm was 53% - WTH? Walter cant teach at all and he's passionless. At the end of the day, trust me, you want to run from this prof by all means possible.
Very clear and simple. Treats students like kindergartners. Makes sure you are on track, and facilitates easy learning of the material. I had never taken accounting before, yet I found that he made it easy.
He is a very good teacher.he is clear about what he wants but you have to go class and do every single homework problem.he does not like lazy students and uninterested ones.he does point out students during class especially those who sit in the back and do not pay attention.midterm and the final are very fair.study hard and do not complain!!!
Very high on students participation. If that is the best suited learning style for you, then pick him. If you do not read the text and do home work regularly, then you will not like his teaching styles. He calls on students to do a question so if you're unprepared, you are likely to make a fool out of yourself.
Walter Krystia must be shot in order for students to reach the promised land.
Walter is good if: you like people how mumble and talk to the blackboard not the class. You mind as well be illiterate because you will not be able to read his writing. He likes to change his numbers in examples, sometimes its 10,000 sometimes its 10, sometimes its 6billion - its a language that i will never learn.
He is very intelligent and theres a lot you can learn from him. However his teaching style isn't the greatest. He loves to pick on students, and is very bitter. You have to come to class prepared. His midterm had way too many definitions, defining a term exactly to how they did in the textbook doesnt truly reflect your knowledge of accounting.
It's not that Krystia is a bad professor, it's just that he seems to have a very old school way of teaching. He puts nothing on blackboard but the textbook solutions, so definitely go to the first few classes to pick up the course outline and handouts.
Honestly do yourself a favour and drop his class by ANY MEANS NECESSARY!He mumbles and picks on students. He is extremely unfair and really unapproachable. He changed the dates on his online test two times not allowing us to prepare. He gave a LECTURE on an irrelevant chapter on the day of a 30% MIDTERM.he is unfair.GET OU WHILE YOU STILL CAN. YES
Made accounting easy. Decided not to go to the majority of the classes. Once I understood the first few ideas/topics, I realized the rest of the stuff just made sense. He made the ideas very clear, unlike another prof I've had for the same course.
"accounting is a language, you have to know the language to pass the course"
He mumbles, his writing looks like chicken scratch and quite frankly he does a lot of the calculations wrong. He will tell you over and over again that this is not a math course, but a language course. He loves to pick on people and forces them to answer the question. Also, someone needs to tell him his skateboarding shoes clash with his outfits.
he treats us like we are still in high school. Loves to pick on people especially those that are not paying attention.
Horrible.. very hard marker, I decided not to show up for most of the classes simply because I felt I could do a better job at teaching myself, however I should mention I took a fundamentals accounting course in highschool which helped a bit.. also his bulky handout serves no purpose except as a textbookguide my advice? avoid this him at all costs
I went to class for the first few weeks. That's when it dawned upon me that I had understood absolutely nothing. He whispers and always makes mistakes.Worst of all he responds to your email after the email has lost its purpose(usally after 10 days or never).I got an A- because i studied on my own.Avoid his classes if u can.
Very clear and fast-paced professor. If you listen to what he says, you're bound to actually pass the class. For those who don't listen, that's the reason why you're not doing well.
Nobody goes to the tutorial because it is painfully boring and redundant. Also whispers and asks inane question.
Never.Again.Run. Worst breakout professor ever. I went to the class maybe 5 out of 13 times. Painfully dull, and boring and REDUNDANT.
Very fair teacher. The only reason people don't like him is because they don't go to class, listen, and take notes. Do that and you'll do just fine. Also, do the homework questions!!
does not understand students or how to convey the material to them
Amazing prof! Knows what he talks about, but some very basic prior knowledge and reading before class is essential unless you have taken accounting in high school (at any level). Would recommend if you have done so. Received an A on the exam and the course.
class average was 49% Not one student got over an 80% He marks very strictly, you will lose marks if all of your answers are not textbook. His wife must have left him or something because hes taking it out on his students. AVOID THIS PROF IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HIGH GRADE!
Worst pro ever. LOVES to pick on people and make them look stupid. Please don't take him.He actually picks on the people who listen not the people who are on their laptop or phones. I went to all his class but there was no point.
Don't bother going to class; he doesn't clarify anything. Just study on your own.
People, don't complain about him, he is a great Pro. Just study hard and read the chapters ahead. I did great in his class!!!
He does not clarify anything, and marks really hard
Amazing prof! He is old school, no slides, which is PERFECT for this course. Make sure you do the readings before class and make all the practice problems. He will go over the material and problems step by step and will answer every question. He really wants students to do good. I got A and this is the first accounting course I have ever taken!
Excellent Prof! Organized, willing to help, gives you hints on what will be on the tests, tells you what mistakes you will most likely make before you even know it. Great great Prof to learn accounting from! I have a lot of respect for him :)
if you like accounting then you will do great. proff doesnt matter! this class is all about basic accounting. this Proff does pick on people, doesnt really clarify, BUT i found midterms really easy although exam was a bit hard!
0.0 hardly attended classes! worked on my own! got B- which i am proud of with no ones help! while everyone else was struggling even after attending his class!
picks on people like crazy, if you dont know the answer, be ready to get humiliated. but he does teach and explain well, just know your stuff prior going to class.
Scary. Called me out in front of 300 people for talking to the person next to me. He should relax a little bit. He tells the class every day that we are going to fail.
avoid this prof if you don't like being picked on in a class and humiliated if you can't answer his question or if you answered it incorrectly. IF NOT FOR THE ICLICKER MARKS, I WOULD NOT ATTEND HIS CLASS. he kept saying REMEMBER, THIS IS A LANGUAGE COURSE which irritated me. the only thing i like about him is he gives helpful handouts. THAT'S IT.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH THIS PROF. I needed to write that in capital letters to get my point across. He is completely incapable of teaching or relaying any type of information to students. Even if you are capable of an A you will most likely get an F in this class. He is the most incompetent prof I have come across EVER! stay away.
Not sure what to make of him. Is he only mean as a professor or just naturally as a human being? I never got picked on in class - thank the lord. I'd always get nervous if he was around me - doesn't entice me to learn. But he teaches the material very well and was the only reason why I got an A in this course.
Honestly if you pay attention to him you will get an At. I Had never taken an accounting course in my life, not even in high school and i came out with a 87! Pay attention to him and you will pass with flying colors.
Amazing prof. Not sure why many of you rate this professor such poorly. The way I see it, you're either a numbers person or you're not and if you expect to be spoon fed, go back to preschool. He can be tough on people but that is probably because they are disturbing the class, which is quite rude. If i were him, I'd merely tell you to leave.
I thought he was good at clarifying concepts from the lecture, though it is true that he's very harsh when he decides to pick on someone that he thinks isn't paying attention. Personally I thought his midterms were hard.
he is a good prof .. explains well and gives helpful handouts.
I enjoyed his class. As long as you pay attention to what he says and read the textbook, you'll be fine. His slides are really helpful for studying and explaining concepts in class.
This is a hard subject unless you are a numbers person. Walter has been doing this a long time and knows the material cold. I found he has little patience, is condescending and yes he does pick on people he thinks are not engaged. The big negative for me was that his attitude took the fun out of the course.
I first took this class & dropped it within the first 2 weeks bc it was so hard & I thought the prof was mean. I took the course in the summer I got an A w. same prof! It's a tough class & very boring material. But if you attend his classes & do the practice questions you'll kill it. His examples in slides are the same on tests. Review his slides!
