he is a good teacher, he teaches you everything you need to know about math. he is also very funny, and his classes are never really boring. but his test are very hard! so you need to study very good. he is not to picky on home work either.
I took him for Statistics and Bus Calculus. He'll do every question you ask him to on the board. Very fair teacher on grading. I got an A both times I had him. He gives you practice exams b4 the actual exam.

Mr. Lusk is a great instructor! I wish more there were more instructors like him! He is very helpful in making sure you have a good foundation of the material. He doesn't rush through chapters just for the sake of finishing a certain amount. Highly recommend!!

What was I thinking taking him for stat? Should've known. Where should I begin? Teaches way too slowly: mid term = first test. and then jams in the rest. U learn, but he ends up going on and on about stuff not pertaining to statistics: eg. oil drilling companies.... *He will knock ur boots off
This guy talk so slow, show up late all the and absent all the time. I didn't learn anything at all, what a waste of my time. If you want to learn something about investment go find another professor
Very Good teacher. Cares if you learn subject. If you dont study, you won't like him. Explains material so you can understand it. He likes students and is available to help.
Best math teacher I've had. I now like math although I hated math before taking Prof. Lusk's calculus class. Takes time to explain hard concepts like the limit. Allows open book tests. Students uses the TI 83+ calculator to see what the equations mean.
You will really learn the materal: Test are very hard but he grades fair and somewhat easy Gives lots of opportunities to improve grade by working problems on the board. He answers all questions and explains things several times if needed. Home due on test day.
Great instructor! I wish more instructors were like him! Very helpful when answering questions. He makes sure you have a good foundation. He makes sure you understand material. Highly recommend if you are willing to work and go to class if not you should find an easer instructor.
He is warm and very caring teacher and always tries to help students. Always on time for our class and available during office hours. His tests are very difficult, so you need do all assigned (and other) exercises very carefully. Ask lotS of questions-He will answer them in class or during off hrs

Hated math before taking Mr Lusk,s Class. Now I am studying and really learning. Still not good at math but enjoy going to class. Gives extra credit if you catch him in a mistake: Keeps us awake in class trying to find mistakes. Extra credit for board work and mkes it easy by allowing us to take a friend with us Wish other teachers cared like Lusk
Dont take this teacher!!! If you like knowing where you stand in the class forget it. Very Disorganized, will forget everything. Half the time in class he will be talking about stuff unrelated to the class and still expect you to know everything for the test. If u do take him all I have to say is, " I warned u so...".
Very caring teacher. Able to teach complex concepts in a clear style. He is an excellent teacher especially if you are an average student. “A” students are encouraged to go ahead and study extra material. Gives practice tests and reviews for finals. Drops lowest test grade which makes determining grade-in-progress confusing to some students.

Professor Lusk RULES!!! Never in my life have I ever enjoyed math or any part of it whatsoever, but he makes this class so much fun and to top it off: It's easy. I have the highest grade in the class, I've gotten high 90 scores on my tests, and you're talking to a girl, who barely passed any math class that she was ever in.
HE IS A PRETTY GOOD TEACHER, BUT WASTES ALOT OF TIME TALKING. HE IS FUNNY, SMART, AND FRIENDLY. TRIES TO HELP STUDENTS. MAKES CLASS EASY. UNFORTUNATELY HE HAS PUT US BEHIND OTHER CLASSES WITH ALL HIS CHATTERING. STILL, I THINK HES COOL.
Wow, this class was so freakin Easy! He does tend to ramble alot about stuff not related to math and he also gives you e.c. for telling jokes: clean or dirty. He's really chill about turning in hw late and he doesn't even care if you come in like half an hour late or if your cell phones go off or if you leave during the middle of class. Take Him!
Greatest teacher I had in a while! Yes, sometimes goes off subject, but in explanations of material VERY CLEAR. Was getting over 95% on tests, even though I suck at math. Take him!
His INVESTMENT class was just wasting our time. A terriblely disorganized guy. He needs to retire from teaching.He always has lots of excuses about his lateness, absence,postponed schedule, even postponed scoring. He lacks credibility and he lies with tricky but funny reasons. Ok, if you want an easy A, take this Prof. He is very sweet and approachable, but he does tend to get off topic alot. You basically teach yourself and you can do your hw in class and he won't even notice or care. He's cool about tardiness and turning your hw in late- just make up some lame excuse and he'll totally believe you. Trust me!
Thank's everyone. I think he heard your messages. This is the end of the 2ed week and we already had a test and will start Chapter 3 next week. He is very good at explaining math so that even I understand. As a single parent, I'm glade he let's me go early in an emergency. Take him if you want to understand math.
I have taken 5 different classes with Mr. Lusk. He is caring person, understanding to any situatiion. He is the type of person that if it takes the entire class time to make you understand how to do the problem he will help you. Not like Polezani she does not care if you know the problems. She is just moving right along.

all i have to say is......he has the ability to turn a simple concept into something extremely incomprehensable. he's very nice and lenient.. but unless you're good at learning material on your own.. i wouldnt recommend this class

Attendance and hw r part of grd. The hw wasn't too bad to comprehend, but when test time came around it was difficult to know what fomulas to use, plus there were more problems then you could ever finish! The first test we took, at least 1/2 of the class had to guess on at least 10 questions out of 30.
He is a very friendly old guy.He's also absolutely easy.The bad thing is he's too nice and easy and you don't do or learn anything.The ONLY thing you need to do is a final paper,in which you bs for 3 pages and he won't even read it and you will get your A.
Professor Lusk truly means well and he is a sweet man. He is knowledgeable but I feel his teaching skills arent as sharp as I would want them to be. His lectures can be messy and unorganized. He sometimes tells more stories than class material. If you really want to learn stat, cause you need it, take someone else. Otherwise he is FUNNY!
This was the most pointless class ive ever taken!! It was online and he never posted the assignments and tests on time. NEVER responds to emails. everything is so up in the air you never know whats going on. ugh!!!!
If you're planning to take Stat 15 with Professor Luke, you better get a tutor, because this guy won't do JACK for you, you're on your own to sink or swim, he doesn't answer email or phone call, he's never online, all he does is give out assignments and grade your test, that's all!! Don't even take this guy, you're wasting your valuable time.
Lusk does not teach this class. He just assigns work. You wont learn from him, you will only learn what you are capable of teaching yourself with the book. He wont answer emails, or phone calls & he's ill prepared. He crammed 1/2 of the class assignments into the last 6 weeks of class because he was so disorganized. This class was a train wreck.
Cares about students.
Extremely nice & kind person. So far he has let us do the past 3 exams take home. Final is worth half of the grade but you can use as many notecards as you like. Always gives out extra credit, he pretty much tries to help you pass the class, but in order to enforce that you learn, the final is worth a lot & all depends on yourself. Not too much hw.
Nice man, knows the subject, but does not know how to teach. If you have a choice do not take his class, wish I had a choice.
He is not involved with the class much. As he says "I have tenure." If you want a business plan take the class otherwise it is a waste of your time, really!!! He never replys to e-mails & does not let you know that he is not going to show up for class.
He is a kind teacher but his lectures are boring. He should make the class more interesting if he would promote class interactions by forcing the students to go solve the problems on the board instead of solving all of it by himself. There were 3 take home exams which were useless because you the class can just copy from each other.
Mr. Lusk is a really nice guy with lots of stories to tell but unfortunately that's all he does. His business class turned into a math class that was way beyond my grasp. For THIS class if you just do the take home tests and get the business plan done by then end of the semster you'll be ok. As for getting explanation from him...good luck!
Online Statistics class. Nice enough guy but doesnt answer emails promptly or answer messages on the class website either. Pretty easy grader but your on your own pretty much.
Horrible class. Horrible professor. As many have said, nice enough guy. Absolutely no teaching ability. No lecture. No grading of any hw/tests. No feedback. No communication. NO LEARNING. This is the best you can do PCC???
Prof. Lusk is nice guy and the stories he tells are interesting,but unfortunately cannot teach well. If your a self studier like me you shouldn't have a problem getting an A or B.He's a VERY generous grader and will give out plenty of extra credit(he gave us 10 EC points once just for showing up to class!). Overall an easy class.
This professor doesn't know how to lucture. The class is also 3 hours, meanwhile professor Lusk takes 20 minute breaks often. He is a nice guy though.
Take this guy for BUS 14A! Easiest A I ever had. Take home final, Drop lowest test out of 3.
Honestly, Professor Lusk is a great man, he is very knowledgeable but his teaching style is very unorganized. If you are good at self studying. Take this class. I was on hulu watching shows every class period. I would cram and do all the hwk the night before the test and do the mock exam he passes out, and i would get an A on the test, no problem.
Agree with most that Professor Lusk is a tad bit unorganized, but is also heavily involved in campus politics (a good thing!). He is an EXTREMELY fair grader and honestly does all he can to help you pass the class provided you do the work. He will help you out of class if YOU seek it! I recommend visiting him for help- he'll be there if needed.
I have taken several of his classes. He IS public school education. He is burnt out, he doesn't care about teaching b/c he can't be fired. He tells the same weird stories over and over and gives away grades to people who don't bother to try.
Lusk genuinely cares about his students, not going to lie to there. I had him in class for 14A he's not the best lecturer but one on one during office hours helped me a lot. Tests are straight forward, open book & you can use flashcards. I took 14B online and everything was online with Mathlab except the final. He responded quickly to emails.
Good stories, it is a good way to fall asleep.
There is no nicer instructor in this world besides him.The only thing is you need to have the ability to learn on your own, if not then do not take his class. I like his class and I can learn math myself.

THIS CLASS IS NOT EASY. PEOPLE IN THE MATH MAJOR MAYBE CONSIDER THIS IS A EASY CLASS. FINAL IS 50% OF YOUR GRADE. LEARN NOTHING IN CLASS. TONS OF HOMEWORK ONLINE. MOST OF THE PEOPLE END UP GETTING A " C "
This professor cannot teach at all. He spends the entire class time doing two problems on the board and that's it. Don't expect to learn much in this class because you won't. He gives out tests on material that he didn't even go over yet. Worst class I've ever taken. Highly NOT recommended.
To be fair, Lusk is a very nice person, but a terrible teacher. Lecture was unclear and unorganized. Heavy online hws. Final made up almost 50% of the grade. Not recommended unless you already know the material or you can self-learning. Wish i took Maloney's class.
I got A even though I've attended only 60% of the classes. Take his class if you do well in Math, otherwise drop it as you can learn nothing from him.

Lots of assignments but everything is online including tests. But final is ridiculously hard and it makes up half your grade. Nice teacher who is willing to help but lectures were too unclear to the point where coming to class felt useless. I missed pretty much half the semester. All self study

Whole class time is spent on perhaps two problems alone and lots of stories that do not pertain to the class. The class is essentially self-study. Wish there were more professors teaching Bus. 14A & B.

Are you able to self teach finite math/calc by yourself? If not, this class isn't for you. Lusk is not very punctual. Literally everything about this class is self taught. The only useful things he shows us how to use is the TI calculator. A lot of homework, tests can be very long/tedious (Last test was (79 questions). 4 exams, final worth 50%....
Goes off topic a lot, most of class time is spent is story telling, you'll cover 2 problems at most in one class. Test and homework takes hours to complete. Very unorganized he even lost one of our tests and had the class retake it. Be prepared to self teach about 90% of the material. The final is worth 50% of your grade.
I took him for BUS 14A and BUS 14B. Took 14A during Spring and that class was so easy but just a lot of homework. As long as you do the homework and study the material, it is not hard at all. When I took him for 14B during summer, there was just too many homework! 14B was a lot tougher for me and this is a self-learn class.
Most classes we spent half the time waiting for him to figure out how to log onto mymathlab. The other half of the time he'd go over HW problems at a snails pace. (literally 1 prob per hr) & gets them wrong. He often gets mixed up while teaching and you basically learn everything yourself but all our tests were online. Easy A but horrible teacher

1/1This is an old professor who is experiencing the effects of being old. He is quite forgetful, as he often starts teaching 14B even though he's in 14A. Class lectures are slow, extremely hard to follow, and don't benefit you at all. He takes about 20 minutes to do one problem and usually gets the answer wrong in the end. Take this class as a last
2/2 resort. We have 3 weeks until the final and he's only covered 2 chapters out of 7. 3 chapters to be generous. This is because he comes to class late by 15-20 minutes and has cancelled a couple classes because of illness. This class has a max of 40 students but looking in the room right now there are only 18 people here. This guy needs to retire
I don't know why people hate him. He gives a lot of homework but it was all really easy. He uses a program that teaches you how to do each and every problem. Do those right and the midterm and final will be easy. Lectures are boring but overall he's a great teacher even if he's late to class a lot.
He's going to bend over backwards to make sure that you pass his class. (By this I mean he will be extremely flexible with tests and schedules for homework.) However, this is essentially an independent study class. If you cannot teach yourself then you will not make it. Otherwise, it's the easiest A you'll ever get. You don't have to come to class.
Dont take his class unless you enjoy learning by yourself. Also, if you are in your last semester at your college or you need a final official transcript urgently, do not take his class!!! Because he grading veryslow............. But easy A.
Basically a self study class. Work is all online; the lectures are no help as he'll take the entire class to go over literally only two problems. No point in actually showing up, because all the extra credit he gives out doesnt matter so long as you get an A on the midterm, final, and do some of the HW. Hes nice, but you wont learn.
