He's really HOT
i agree...hes hott lol.
dont need to come to class bc he barely takes attendance and the test is all from the book. class is boring- just watch slides the whole time. Easy class, easy A, easy grades, nice teacher, very friendly.
WAY HOT!!! Class is kind of boring but he is nice to look at! Plus the tests are pretty easy
I dont know if I would say he is really easy.. I mean you need to study a lot to get a good grade! But going to class is pretty pointless, as long as you have the book to look at.
Going to class is absolutely pointless - all he shows are slides and doesnt really explain much, it gets REALLY boring too. When i look around, half the class is asleep - I have to agree though, he is a sexy ****, that sexy, sexy man :)
Hot? Just 'cause he's tall and doesn't look as horrible as other teachers? Come on, he's just young and that's a novelty. Goes off on pointless tangents that don't have much to do with the topic, which makes the class way longer than it should be. Very easy though if you do all the reading. Nice guy
If you read the book, you'll probably learn more than from the lecture, but who cares? Walter is mmm mmm delicious. (Reviewer #1 is just insecure and bitter because he's younger than she is)
If you get A's you don't have to take the final. Tests are essay, kind of a pain but easy if you know the material. Term paper is a lot of work but I enjoyed it. I learned a lot about American history. Pretty dry lectures, but damn this man is hot and sexy. Too bad he's married...
He was very helpful and organized. He is very nice accessible. I loved this class. His lectures varied from really great to a little slowed down. You can't miss with him!
Very funny and pretty easy: just make sure you read the book and listen to his lecture.
Walter is a nice guy. He's not that mean. Some of the time you don't know what he's talking about because you focus on him too much
Keep up with the reading and you'll do great on his class; makes lecture easy and fun. Exams are straight forward. He is gorgeous :D
he is a good teacher who makes the class a pleasure. his lectures are organised and there are no surprises on the tests and one paper. His study guides are great. He acts like he enjoys his job, imagine that! and he likes to share about his own personal experience. He wants his students to do well.

Got an expensive book I didn't really need; just pay attention and make sure you know every slide. Any time he asks for an opinion, get prepared for a 40-minute-long discussion on NOTHING! Meyer was an okay teacher that kinda knows what he's talking about and was nice to look at. ;D

The subject is boring to me so it's hard to me to tell if he is a good teacher or not. I mean,if you go to class and read the book you're should be ok.Well...,he must be good cause I think now I can say something about paintings... Yeah,he is good,:)!Take him.
Needs time to adjust as a new professor. Willing to go out of his way to answer questions. Makes time for office hours. Plenty of information on early Greek,Roman art as well in modern art. (Don't take the class based upon his looks, only if your interestred in learning art history)
it's more like on-line class although it's not.but he teaches well. you will learn a lot. good teacher but hard class.
He does looks fine and cure compare with other professors.AND I think his class is ok I guess but I've learn nothing from him seriously. His lecture was based on the book.Going to the class is pointless.I would suggest you to have art history class with semere he's much better and have more informations plus, stories to tell.
He's a nice person, very helpful - needs to moderate class discussions so that we don't go off on time-wasting tangents. I think most students would prefer to cover the material and leave early rather than listen to useless comments for an hour. American Art is boring until 1920 but he's a good prof. Just do the work, read the book, get an A.

His class is pretty easy. Lots of extra points for attendance, but if you're doing well and never come to class he won't dock you for not showing up. He's very clear on what will be on exams. Study and tests are easy! He's a pretty leniant grader on papers, too.
He is hot!! but class was not so easy.
I got an A, I have no complaints. He's clear about what he expects out of his students and gets the job done.

He's a very nice, funny and an easy going teacher.
Easy A if you come to class, pay attention, and take notes, unless you're a dimwit! After taking his class, you can go to museums and appriciate modern art.
It is easy, but you need to put in work for it.Don't listen to all these comments b/c next semester he told us about what he'd change and it seems a lot harder. This class consisted of two tests, two papers, and a final project.tells you what's gonna be on the tests. it's a chill class and he's super hot.. >p
He's very clear on what he expects on tests. He tells stories that help you remember information. He's pretty funny and really helpful. I enjoyed the class.
goes over slides pretty well. helps when asked questions
EASY A you gotta study though
The online class was cool for people who like working on their own. Lots of work though, but as long as you do it (not even correctly necessarily) you get an A. Easy to communicate with and seemed really nice on email. Will be taking Art 2 online with him next semester. Interesting class if you like art and history...and art history.
what is the format of exams? what is the point distribution in percentage? are there any papers? thanks
This Guy Is Beautiful To Look At Forget The Subject!
you need a blue book for the test. theres like a handful of matching, one essay, and like 10-15 slides. make sure you study every slide on the study guides.
gorgeous
best professor at smc. i love him!!! he knows his stuff and makes the class soo interesting. yeah he is super hot, but don't let that distract you. as long as you pay attention and take notes, you will get an A. this class was amazing! best professor ever!! best class too!! TAKE HIM NOW!~~
Awesome teacher, knows his stuff, highly recommended
Meyer is an AWESOME teacher! he is really extremely helpful and really knows his stuff. this is the best class becasue he is really into what he is talking about. the tests are easy if you memorize the terms. he makes the tests easier becasue you only need to know five concepts that interest you...versus lame details no one remembers.
Well organized/approachable/enthusiastic/ reasonable work-load/if you go to class and listen, you can't help but become as passionate as meyer is about art and its many implications on the human condition/it's not just art history, it's the world, it's us, it's personal. This class offers you more than you expect, you just have to take it
Okay..he changed everything from what i heard. he's a good prof.but now he gives you like 40 terms and u have to remember 20(in which you have to decode in the test, 60 slides and he only chooses 10 out of the the 60(in which you have list 5 facts) and, 2 comparisons(paragraphs. He's test are hard!
Great teacher, hot, very helpfull, what more could u ask for?
He knows how to teach and dress. He can go a bit to fast in test but i did enjoy his lectures. He grades fair, hardly any h.w but there are tones of notes you are going to have to take.
He is great instructor. you will have to do your homework and read. he explains everything clear. and you can e-mail him and answering questions.
Meyer is a great instructor. His stuff is so easy I never even cracked open the book. His tests are matching, comparisons, and know like 5 things about 10-15 slides. It is the easiest class. Also I got a B even though I didnt ace every test and didn't hand in one of the two essay papers. He also made art history interesting which is a plus!
Class is well organized for an online one. Professor is very helpful, tests are a bit much sometimes, too much material in too little time but overall an easy B, will have to work a little for the A. I found the material quite interesting even though I have NO interest in art.
nice guy..takes row, especially towards the end of the semester;not too demanding though;you can get an easy B;no homework required;2 tests,1 final, and 2 short papers due.
enthusiastic teacher that makes this class very interesting, by his conversational teaching style

great teacher. must take his class. not much work. very clear in his lectures. very cool person. his classes are great, with a lot of interaction and sharing of ideas. have to read the book and study, like for any other class. 2 papers, final and midterm. not impossible to get an A, if work for it. must take professor.
Good tough Q's but 2 many in 2 short period(=8wk). Demand go beyond ur expectation. NEVER had time 2 enjoy/rest. For exam, gotta know dry material THROUGHLY. Hard to seize amount v Qs on webbrowser, Manage time+never miss any essay Q(weighted heavily) That's how I died. NOT recommended, much less 4 int'l stud't. Take other class w/class, or 16wk
this is an 8-week class and thus, I gave him 3 for clarity. I find his overall class nice. It wasn't exactly THAT easy. you gotta work hard. seriously, take part in class discussion and do the work he gives. I took this class with my other friends, we all got As.
TERRIBLE CLASS TO TAKE ONLINE. Meyer doesn't bother to participate at all. Must know material in FULL DETAIL and tests are ridiculous... Requires a lot of speculation on the students' part. Pretty much a "learn on your own" class b'cause the instructor can't be found. Heard he's much better in person.
One of the Best Professors in SMC! Definitely one of my best teacher! His lectures on historical context on art are insightful and clear, cool person, test are straightforward-the two exams, two papers and a group powerpoint presentation are doable. Highly recommend this teacher, Two Thumbs Up!
His class was fun, and he has some funny stories... ask him about the cop and the **** on halloween. his tests are easy and writing assignments are fun because you get to be as opinionated as you please. A lot of hot girls take his class too
Thorough teacher - fair and interesting. Want students to learn about art history in the context of worldwide events at the time. Responsive and helpful. Will take again.
great teacher. cool guy. lots of great art slides and discussion. u will learn a lot of things about art. don't miss class. easy and fun.
He's awesome. I thought it was funny how averagely hot he was when everyone was raving about how gorgeous he was. I mean he's a good looking guy but... Anyways I found him interesting helpful and informative. Even his online classes, he was there and helpful for those who needed him. He's so chill it's hard not to love him.
WOW he is so sexy. Grades fair but you must actually WORK for the A. Group presentation at the end of the semester so if you are shy stay away! Three exams and two essays (those sucked). Just make sure on the essays you give him your opinion, not a summary, and you'll get an A on those. Overall he's great & I highly recommend him. + he's hot
So I now have a new love and his name is Walter. He is so damn hot and his class is very interesting too. All his lectures are powerpoint accessible through Ecompanion and he is very straight forward to what will be presented on the tests. Even though I am distracted by his hot persona, I still got A's on the tests and did minimal studying. HE IS S
Very nice professor who gives A's. Offers extra credit. Gives the slides you'll be tested on in a powerpoint long before the test (you can see the slides for the final when he adds you to eCompanion at the beginning of the semester). Two tests (150 pts ea), two papers (50 ea), a group project (150 pts), the final (150 pts). Kind and approachable.
not hard, but not easy. you have to studu-memorize. there is extra credit-take advantage, because it doesn help. everything is on e-companion, so you have it in advance. he grades pretty easy. i think he just wants us to take his class and pass. art is interesting to me now. pretty easy class, but you have to study!
Very good professor, very interesting, very fair. He's almost always available before or after class to help students with their essays, etc. I learned a lot in this class. Use your brain, try to be insightful, in other words be a college student, and you'll do well in this class. He offers EASY extra credit, going to museums w/an essay.
If I could give Walter Meyer 2 chili's on his rating I would! He definitely is muy caliente! He's also extremely passionate about Art History - very engaging. There are 2 papers to write, a midterm and a final. He does give extra credit. Very nice and helpful.
his tests are really easy if you read the chapters (which isn't painful to do at all) and write down five facts for each slide prior to the test. his papers are alright but if your writing is poor, you might want to run it by someone. Also, really realllly hot girls take art history classes... it was a joy to go to class every day. and i got an A..
on-line class. He provides flash cards, chapter overviews, plenty of info to help you do well. Class is organized, he responds quickly to questions and provides helpful feedback.
Great professor. Very passionate about his work. Loves his students and motivates them to do well. To do well in this class you must be good at memorizing. All tests are based on memorization of text book pictures. Essays are hard and you better be up to par with your english writing skills. Requires MLA. Very interesting class. Highly recommended.
ONE OF THE BEST PRO AT SMC. HE LOVES WHAT HE DOES, AND HIS LECTURES ARENT BORING AT ALL. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MEMORIZE, AND EASY A.
I took his online class, didn't get to meet him until a chance gallery opening in Beverly Hills. Super nice! During class was very helpful, very willing to give a second chance when my Internet connection went down the day an assignment was due. You have to be on top of your weekly assignments, but you learn a lot. Received an A from him.
Meyer is a very motivational speaker, and he's easy to relate to. He's a little younger than most of the dinosaur professors on campus, which helps. The class was great, and I learned a ton.
Nice guy, very straightforward. What you see is what you get, no tricky tests or anything like that, just study what he tells you to. He makes the class more interesting and less boring by going off topic sometimes and talking about current events or sharing personal stories. I recomend him.
Class is all memorization. He makes it very easy to understand what you are memorizing which helps. He gives you all tools necessary to succeed in his class you just have to use them and study hard before tests and its an easy A. Plus he's hot... Except he has kids so thats a dissapointment...
GOOD TEACHER, ALOT OF WORK
Took his online class and he is a very easy grader and is willing to help you if you have any questions. He makes the class enjoyable.
Class is memorization. Really didn't need to use the textbook it is really a waste of money if you take good notes. Go in for help on the essays he like to see interest in the class. Pretty easy, and straightforward. After all it is American Art history.
study the slide reviews online and easy A..mostly memorization for tests and personal thoughts for papers..wonderful class learned alot about art coming from a person who knew nothing about art before i began the course..HIGHLY RECOMENDED to take if you want to deepen your art knowledge and have thought provoking!
Just a great teacher! Knows a lot about the subject, doesn't mind answering questions and designs a really good syllabus. Do the work and read the book and you get a good grade. A+ Professor!
Horrible Winter Online Class. He must think that people are not doing anything else but just his online class. There's a reason why people took it as online. A good subject but teacher is UNREASONABLY DEMANDING for a 6 week class. I took Art 72 on a winter but not online and though the material is boring, the teacher is way much better. i SUGGEST N
Whew! His winter online class is incredibly intense. Be aware. The material is interesting and the reading is good, but be sure to set aside A LOT of time each week to completing the assignments. Not a good class to take if you have a lot of other things going on.
I have to agree..very unreasonable for a winter class. DO NOT TAKE HIM on Winter session.
As a computer engineering major, i found his lectures extremely insightful. He changed my whole view on art. He is funny and has very clear interesting lectures. He is definately one of my favorite professors.
took an 8week online course this spring. easy if you do all the reading and assignment. those are easy points, and you get participation points for them also. 1 chapter a week is not bad but be prepare to spend a lot of time on the assignments.
took spring 8 week online course. Its not that bad i left everything last minute so it got a bit intense. It is a lot of work so be prepared but overall not bad, but takes a lot of your time.
Great teacher! Class isn't hard, but a decent amount of memorization required for the exams (will quiz on like 10 out of 30 or so IDs, and 2 out of 3 essays, plus terms). Is not an easy grader on papers like other teachers, but in a good way (wants you to use your mind). I also took Art2 online, it's quite a bit of work for an 8 week period!
This was a very hard class. A lot of material to memorize. I was only taking it for the general requirements, but now I totally regret it. I have never got a grade lower than a B in my whole life, and even though I studied really hard, I got my first C.
The best online teacher ever! He cares about students grades and comments on discussions. I enjoy his class and I loved the book too! I missed my Mid term and he let me re-take the exam. I did leave the last chapters to the last minute but I pass the class with a B. Take it you won regret it!
Someone (rater below) with a B.A. in Art History should know by now how to use an "apostrophe-s." I also don't agree with the rest of his/her statements. I've done lots of my own reading on the artists covered in Art 72 and never found discrepancies. He always had the door open for people with all different levels of interest for the subject.
extremely intelligent guy. completely passionate about his subject. i genuinely enjoyed his lectures even though i had no interest at all in modern art. however, i had to study a TON to pull off my A. I have a lot of respect for this teacher-- he has lofty goals and expectations, and he doesn't let his ego get in the way. Recommended.
mr.meyer is one of those teachers you will remember for the rest of your life. he is amazingly inspiring and fair. if you didnt get an A in his class- be honest- you didnt deserve it. he knows who takes his class seriously and who doesnt. i HAD to do his class but he turned me into a passionate art fan! take his class- seriously.do it. now.
I took his class online. Lots of weekly work, unclear took a week to organize his class after it started. HORRIBLE spelling and grammer. Tests are difficult and not enough time to complete. Papers have ridiculous topics. Slow grader and unavailable. If you don't mind alot of work and little reward take him. If you work hard you can get an A.
Took on-line 16 week course. Very interesting and professor was very supportive. Follows syllabus so you have a clear understanding on what is expected. Even though an on-line course, provides opportunity for extra credit. Read material, do all on-line assignments and you should be rewarded with an A.
I took his 6 week online class and man was it intense! There was a ton of homework for each chapter, not too hard. I have to say I would take his class again and I learned a lot!
took the winter online class. as there's no lecture i couldn't say its interesting. But by reading the textbook you learn quite a lot about art history. the professor is responsible, quick response to emails and a fair grader i should say
What was I thinking??? There is a TON of work here and for someone like me who knows nothing about Art, this is like a foreign language. This Prof has high expectations and is not good for beginners.
If you're not an Art Major or need to get a GE out of the way DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! I got an A after sacrificing A LOT of time, his tests are ridiculous; out of 50 slides and 50 terms (which you have to find btw) he picks 10 followed by two essay questions RIDICULOUS!! A pointless class that proves the absurdity that is modern art. Take Semere!
Amazing professor! He has such a great teaching style and makes everything so interesting. Sure his class is a lot of work but it's FUN to write essays for him, and he really makes you think. I learned a ton in his class and had a blast. Take him!
FANTASTIC professor. Very passionate about the subject, puts an equal emphasis on history and art, making it very interesting. Only "complaint" is that he should be teaching a senior class at a 4-yr univ, which is amazing if you want top-notch AA ed. Class is for people int. in art history, and can be tough. Looking at pics doesn't mean it's easy!
dont take him if you are not an art major and you dont like arts...he is a very good teacher with great lectures but not recommended if you want to get a GE out of the way
I am an Art History major and therefore enjoyed the material. He is a very charismatic speaker and well organized. My only complaints are that he didn't give enough information about each art piece. He should test us on less slides) and give more information for those slides. With that said, you can get a good grade if you make the effort
HOTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!! Great guy, clear and interesting lectues. His class is the reason I became an art history major.
3 exams 2 essay 1 project. I won't say it is an easy class. Only con, you have to memorize a lot of paintings and terms. Other then that he is a great teacher very passionate and gives interesting lectures.
Great Professor and Easy class! I took his 8 week Art History 2 for Fall. Don't get me wrong, this is a very demanding class with massive amounts of homework due at the end of the week. But, I got an A with just putting in a little bit of effort.
Best teacher at SMC! He is very knowledgeable, well organized, passionate about art and teaching, and on top of that very hot. If it wouldnt be too late I would definetly change my major to Art History. I highly recommend taking his classes.
Best teacher at SMC! He is very knowledgeable, well organized, passionate about art and teaching, and on top of that very hot. If it wouldnt be too late I would definitly change my major to Art History. I highly recommend taking his classes.
TOTALLY FANTASTIC! He is so great! I've taken a few of his classes, and he is honestly the best art history professor or SMC. He's really passionate about art and his teaching style is great. His lectures are really interesting, especially if you are into art. His classes require some work, but if you get an A, you know that you deserved it.
Best professor I have ever had! Makes the material very interesting. Exams are easy if you pay attention in class and do the reading. Gives out lots of extra credit. I can't believe anyone wouldn't get an A in his class.
His class is very demanding.
Just took AHIS 11 online for winter semester, very fast-paced class. Good professor, good communicator, learned a lot. Take if you can keep up!
ARTS HISTORY 11. Winter 2010 Short semester. Online Class. Great Teacher. Art is not my cup of tea but I did the work and I got an easy A. Be Warned though. This is a class that requires a little work so if you are looking for a walk in the park you will be disappointed. On the other side if you do the assignments that can be a very easy A.
Amazing class. He's a wealth of knowledge and he's hilarious which makes it all way more interesting. Highly recommend
I'm taking his Art History 1 class right now online. The only reason I'm taking it is for IGETC and I have no interest in art at all. But this class is super easy and if you do the homework, you'll get an A. Warning: The homework does take a while to complete so you have to dedicate a lot of time to the class. Trust me, take his class.
Class is really easy! I have no intrest in art history at all but this class taught me alot. There is alot of work if you take it online especially the 8 week, but what do you expect. The class is amazing and profesoor meyer is the best! TAKE HIM, YOU WONT REGRET IT!
I did not have a great interest in art history and mainly took it for IGETC requirements. But Prof Meyer did make the class fun and interesting! I actually enjoyed it! His exams are totally doable and can be an easy A. He is really fun - take his class!
Show up to class and take good notes and this class is a breeze. His lectures are entertaining and he has a good sense of humor. The essays are so easily graded it is ridiculous and the test are not very hard as long as you review the notes. Overall a very worthwhile, well rounded class.
Hes a gangster loved taking his class. Not as painfully boring of a class as art history 1 would seem. Really doesnt mind if you dont come to class, but will occasionally give a quiz whee he gives u the answers to see if u came. Tests are easy if you study the notes withh seem like a lot of material at first but not so intense.
Boring boring!! I needed this class for general ed requirements. Professor seems to be 2-faced, one moment he can be kind and compassionate, the next moment-he makes a complete mockery out of his students. His choice of guest speakers were pathetic, he calls himself an art historian when he can't bring someone intelligent for a forum?
Took his class and loved it. He's incredibly knowledgable and he really encourages creativity. Total of 3 essays, 3 exams (including final), and one group presentation. Easy stuff. You'll pass with a B if you just attend every class. If you read, easy A. He's also super responsive, and offers tosns of extra credit.
easy class i had the online course as long as u do the homeworks and do the exams you'll be fine. but a very very rude teacher.
I took the 6 week online winter AHIS 11 class. It's a lot of work, but as a reviewer said before me, the work is not hard. You just have to do large amounts of writing for homework, exams, and final project. Read the text carefully, write a lot. I found him very responsive and very nice to deal with. Got an A, enjoyed the class.
He is a responsible teacher. For sure, there are a lot of writing & reading but if you do work, he gives you a good grade. Exams seem difficult in syllabus but actually it was not too hard. I am not English native speaker but I got A without difficulty in his online course.
Professor Meyer is a funny individual. To tell you the truth you dont have to go to class, as long as you study the slides he mentions to study on ecompanion, the slides should be in your book! It is a very easy class, make sure you turn everything in, and actually start.
I took his class online. There is a lot of work but as long as you put effort into it you will do fine. Good amount of E/C and he is super helpful and flexible. I got an A and I didn't feel that all my energy went into the course. Plus it was pretty interesting.n
This class was not that difficult and it is very possible to get an A with some effort. my only complaint is that we were required to purchase a $200 bundle for books and only used one of them. You don't even need to attend class as long as you keep up with what's on ecompanion.
Great professor, I learned a lot about American artwork from him. Would defiantly take this class even though art history is not your major. A lot to study, but tests aren't difficult, if you do study. I received an A in his class. Would take him again.
Love him! He's hilarious and lectures are so interesting. Super passionate and educated about the subject and if you pay attention you learn so much and most importantly, to appreciate art! Simple syllabus, but you do need to listen in class and take notes for the most part and the tests so easy. Super chill and simple assignments too. Take him!
I took Meyer's Art history 3 class this fall. This is a really tough/time-consuming class - we wrote three essays, had 2 major enormous mid-term exams (I probably studied like 10-15 hours for each test), a group project (group essay + presentation), PLUS a final exam. Aside from the heavy work load, it was a great class. take it if you have time.
I took his class for Art Hist 3 this past Fall. Not only is he hilarious, eccentric, hot & makes material interesting, i really do feel like i learned a good amount in this class. There is a good amount of work to be done as well but as long as you pay attention in class & study for the materials, it shouldn't be hard to receive an A at all.
His online class is not hard, just do the reading and all the work. There is a LOT of it but his grading seemed easy to me as long as you turned in complete work. He also seemed a little lax on deadlines.
If you're NOT an art major and need a class to complete your GE requirements, TAKE THIS CLASS! He gives u LOTs of extra credit opportunities(about 10-15% worth) and the work isnt all that bad. Be prepared to study/memorize 250+++ pieces of art. His tests(2 test 1 final) are straightforward and have about 3-4 EASY essay assignments(and i HATE essays
Chillest professor...tests required memorization but were in the simplest format..i got an A and only showed on the days of exams.
Take AHIS from Prof Wood 1st. Lots of work for a prereq-3 essays+2 in-class, large group project during finals week, tons of memorization for exams. I hadn't taken an AHIS class before, so I was lost, really had to work for an A. Meyer hates answering questions, is easy on grading, and offers lots of xcredit. Take him if u have a lot of free time.
Walter Meyer is the greatest human being at SMC. He makes everything *art into life* and will explain the material passionately and effectively. I think I want to name my child or definitely cat after him.
Take this class. Walter Meyer IS the greatest professor at SMC by far and made my Spring semester SO enjoyable. Even if art history isn't your thing, he makes it so enjoyable and hilarious. I attended every class because I wanted to, not because I felt like I had to. You won't regret taking it by the time it's over. He's the best.
Online 8 week class. Very easy but requires time. He grades easily on discussions, quizzes are free points, midterm & final are multiple choice & written responses PLUS easy essays, so read the chapters! I learned a lot and got an A, so I would recommend taking Meyer to boost your GPA and fulfill the art GE requirement!
He is the best professor!online 8 weeks class but I wish I could take all my classes from him! Take him ,you wont regret!
Serious, take any of his classes and you won't be sorry. I've taken his classes both on campus and online, and I can say both are equally well taught! One of the nicest professors you will have, and he really cares about helping his students achieve their future academic goals. This class actually makes you excited and eager to participate!
Took his online class for Art History. Easy A if you put in the work and participate in the group discussions. You can get extra points by doing more that the required number of homework questions. Final project was open to groups, if you plan on being in a group choose wisely or you're better off alone.
Mr. Meyer is such a quality professor. Honestly, his is an invaluable asset to the Santa Monica College faculty. In his personal life he is involved in the arts locally and if you don't like Art he will still motivate to you and inspire you to enjoy what he is teaching. You would be doing yourself a disservice to miss taking a class with him.
Professor Meyer is a great professor for 3 key reasons. He's entertaining and will make you care about the subject, will offer you every opportunity to succeed, and will always look at hard work and effort over his own personal attitudes. I strongly recommend him to anyone going to SMC!
if you need this for a GE dont take it. he has us studying 80 slides for only ten that he puts on the test. with ridiculous essay questions which he doesnt even bother to go over. he grades easy but dont let that fool you. over half of the slides on the second exam arent even in the book, i cant even find a small description online.
Prior to taking this class, I took an extremely tedious and difficult art history class in high school. Walt is an inspiration professor who will expand your mind even if this is not your major. He was my first professor at SMC and is the reason I decided to go back to school full time.
Art history is boring but Mr. Meyer is very passionate, funny, and entertaining. Class will be a struggle if you're not interested in the topic but when you look back you realize that you've actually learned a TON!! He also gives countless opportunities for extra credit (up to 9.4%!!!) Its the class you hate taking but appreciate in the end!
Wow Walter is like non other professor I have ever met or took. Not only is he passionate about what he teaches but he made me fall in love with Art History and I am going to take every course I can that he teaches! I have told everyone to take his class because not only will you learn a lot about Art, but you will enjoy his class very much!
Class was pretty easy, a lot of extra credit was offered. I took AHIS 2 and 3 at the same time online and it was very manageable. There is final project at the end of class, you can do with group. Homework every week but pretty easy, you can find online and the stuff you cant, I don't think he actually reads. Fairly Easy, just don't forget class!
Knew absolutely nothing about art but left with a great deal of knowledge. Something about the way the course setup that makes it seem harder than it really is, but the material engages you to spend time/work hard/learn. Test taking was an intense experience. Easy to team up & make friends in class! Great material and great GE course! Got an A!
One of the best classes at SMC! requires a lot of memorizing of facts about random art pieces but it is manageable. if you pay attention in class you dont need to study that much for the test...he gives TONS of extra credit! i ended the class with a 97%
A professor that is truly passionate about art. Very entertaining. Attend every class and you won't fail. He offers A LOT of extra credit so there's no way you can fail this course. It's an easy class if you can manage the time for it. With this Prof you'll learn! Truly exceptional!
You learn a lot about art and the philosophies that come with it. The class is not hard but it's not super easy. If your lazy don't take this class since you need to memorize several material but its manageable.
Great professor! Had a lot of fun in his class. Tests might seem intimidating but as long as you pay attention in class and have a good memory they will be easy.
Wonderful professor that cares about his students and wants to help you and for you to learn. The 6 week course is a massive workload but if you do the work and study for the two tests you will get an A. Really glad I took this with him!
I took his class almost 2 years ago and he's still one of the best professors I've ever had. He really treats you like an adult and makes his lectures super engaging, entertaining, and enlightening. His class is work but his lecture style is never dull and somehow he is very attractive.
Overall good professor. He knows his material and is very patient with students. Is it an easy A ? Absolutely not. However, if you are willing to work and listen to his recommendations on studying you will get an A. He does not have a monotone voice, engages the students to partake in school events and has interesting lectures. Take the course.
Great class. He is patient and will help you outside of class. Tests are essay based and 2-3 essays outside. Gives lots of extra credit. Some people were a little disturbed by his teaching stylematerial. But I wasn't. Group project at the end is really annoying but doable. It's not a super easy A but it's very doable if you put some effort in.
I really enjoyed this class. This course requires a lot of work but its well worth it at the end because the professor will award you for your hard work.
Meyer is a stellar professor and the best for AHis3. It's his favorite and is legitimately excited to teach the gospel of contemporary art. His lectures are info packed and highly engaging. Tests are easy if you're able to make interesting and relevant connections, do study though! Helpful outside of class and very encouraging regardless of major.
Easily the best online class experience I've had at SMC. Meyer is very clear, gives good feedback, and is a fair grader. I'm not an AH major, but I feel like I learned a ton. Book is essential, make sure to keep up on the deadlines, and you'll get an A
Meyer was one of the most inspirational teachers I have ever had. His lectures are amazing and even though his class was really challenging and demanding, I learned so much. His wife is an incredible artist and his lectures on feminism and race were totally inspiring. Plus he cares about his students a lot.
Homework and chapter quizzes every week. Not that hard but a lot of typing. Gives out 2 writing papers and exams. Get ready to learn how to type really fast. Gave out a GROUP PROJECT FINAL. so if you don't like group projects, don't take this class. I email him to check up and inform him on things and coming from an email, he seems rude.
This was a hybrid course so we only met once a week & it was great really felt like i learned from group activities in class, first day of class i have to say i wasn't sure what to expect but he made it a little less stressful since he's a generous grader as long as you turn things in! I took this as an elective course and ended with a 97 Take him!
Great teacher. He's clear and helpful. The assignments and tests aren't extremely hard, but you need to study and understand the material well. The tests are worth a lot, so don't fail them or you're screwed. It is not an easy A, if you don't like to read or like art history, then you should take another class.
This class is really challenging . I took it for GE and expected t to be very easy but it turned to be the most difficult class I had. You have to study a lot for tests and to memorize a lot. The good thing is that he gives a lot of extra credit and he is really helpful when you go to office hours. I studied really hard and I got an A.
All you need to know is he single-handedly makes art history 3 interesting and fun. Yes, there is a lot of studying and memorization that goes into this class, but you know EXACTLY what will be on the test. This man's lectures are to die for: inspirational, thought-provoking, & life-changing. Just turn in your hw and pay attention in class.
If you are browsing for art history professors you can't go wrong with Meyer. He is available to help students and is genuinely interested in the subject matter. I'm not going to sugar coat it, the class requires a lot of writing... but if you need assistance he is there to help you out. Quick grader, entertaining, and insightful. 10 out of 10!!!!!
Professor Meyer was perhaps my favorite teacher at SMC, and I'm not even and Art History major. His class is really fun, even though there is a lot of reading and memorization. The work is definitely worth it, he makes art interesting and keeps you engaged in class. Take any of his classes, you won't regret it.
Terrible teacher don't take. Honestly the amount of HW and essays he gives are ridiculous, and he made us read a whole book on philosophers and write essays on how the philosphers view art... And even during our spring break he has the nerve to give us a 5 page essay and online midterm, even though we already had an in class midterm.
AVOID. Horrible teacher. There is something wrong with this professor. All he does in class is talk about his family, crack dumb jokes, and right when the class is about to end, he throws all the material at us, making us stay after class. Also, he is very disorganized, then gets upset with the class when we don't know what to do.
horrible teacher, inconsiderate, rude, and very difficult course. AVOID TAKING THIS CLASS. Walter Meyer expects you to take every minute of your time for this class, assigning an unbelievable amount of work. Mid term contains of 80 terms and 80 images and two essay questions with no time to complete. He is the worst professor .
Great professor. email back very quickly. answer all the questions. not a brain breaker class but you do need to read and/or research your stuff. very fail grader.
Pro Meyer is a great teacher. He is helpful and truly interested in his students and the subject of Art. He did not have us do an "essay on spring break". He simply gave everyone the option if they needed more time. Don't post untrue damaging things. The man is super smart. Take this class. You won't regret. Fair grader. lots of extra credit
Great teacher. Be prepared to have alot of reading and memorization, but if you actually study and do your work you will succeed. Professor Meyer makes lectures interesting and makes you want to learn.
He is one of the best art history professors at SMC! He is very knowledgeable and He is very passionate about art history! For the midterm exam, he picked only 80 images out of 205!!!!! (same with the final exam)!!! lots of opportunities for extra credit!! I would defiantly take him again!
A lot of work: 13 weekly image descriptions+group projects 4-part midterm: 2 in class, 1 online, 1 turn-in essay 3-part final: 2 in class, 1 turn-in essay 1 final project(group project): 12 paragraph turn-in essay, i YouTube video Note: chose your group carefully. If the first was not good, change it. It would be though if you be in wrong group.
Prof. Meyers is a flexible teacher, however, he does not stick to a syllabus and changes deadlines around a lot with out online notice; You have to be there in class to know about them... Not good. He will be flexible with you however, and wants you to succeed. Be aware of the floating syllabus, do all homework and you should be fine. Easy A.
Fantastic Teacher! Alright if you want an A and don't want to work for it, don't take his class. He gives extra credit, take advantage! Don't miss lectures and pay attention during and read much less details Have a problem, email or talk to him. Don't miss the EASY HWs and you'll end up with minimum B. Do all HWs and get B+ on tests, you get an A
Took this class online for the Fall - accelerated course and it was great. As long as you keep up on the reading and follow the instructions it is an easy A. He is very understanding if you have any issues, need help or a little more time on an assignment. He is very quick and fair grader. I would definitely take his class again.
The only professor who is flexible, and cares for each individual is Mr. Meyer. His History courses are filled with knowledge that will change your life. Everything is related and connected to what we know, one learns a tremendous amount because he's very well organized. Take it from someone who uses a calendar everyday, and is particular about mee
Walter loves art, his enthusiasm alone was enough to look forward to every lecture. Diligent, however eccentric his methods of organizing the course. If you really want something out of this course, get involved. Do the readings, take notes, and go to the extra credit lectures it's all fascinating and compelling stuff.
***** His tests: 10 slide IDs with 10 facts per slide (100 slides to memorize) 2-3 compare contrast slides Essay part MEYER is an amazing teacher EXTREMELY enthusiastic about art... I NEVER LIKED ART UNTIL I HAD MEYER He is fair... lenient... nice This is not a fluff class, it requires a LOT OF TIME AND MEMORIZATION. Great class - interesting
One word: Wow! I sometimes dream that I have Walter Meyer in my other classes such as math, which truly needs to be cleaned up of professors in SMC. Walter is inspirational, clear grading, wants you to succeed, 100% passion for his work. He also has unlimited times of retakes of quizes online. Just do what he says, and you'll get an A.
Prof. Meyer is so passionate about what he does! You can see his love for art by how he talks about everything & all the knowledge he has on various works, artists, etc. Reading the art history textbooks will help a lot. Although tests require A LOT of memorization, if you study & show up to class you WILL get a good grade. Guaranteed.
Meyer is a great professor that truly cares about the success of community college students. He is very woke and bases his entire course on the theme of gender equity which is pretty dope because in doing so, he made the class 1000% more interesting. Aside from that, it's a very easy class, I probably studied a total of 10 days for the entire class
Great Prof! Works well with the students and is so friendly and helpful in his office hours. He wants you to succeed and will help anyway he can. His lectures are better then most and he is a funny guy so he keeps it interesting. Don't plan on taking this if this is a lecture you think you can skip, not a smart idea and you wouldnt want to anyways.
The best professor everrrr! He's hillarious, super nice and outgoing and he really cares about his students. Only 2 exams throughout the semester and around 3 (i think) take home essays you need to do. Really easy A but don't expect him to just hand it out to you. Do his homework quizzes and extra credit assignments!
HE IS THE BEST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD! RECOMMEND he's helped me so much in everyday especially after i told him my situation in his office hours, you're able to trust Professor Meyer with everything, he gave me honest advice and he even wrote my college of recommendation for me hes an amazing person inside and out and helps out all of his students
Walter is an incredible professor, and an overall incredible person. His lectures are interesting and engaging. He really appreciates insightful comments and questions, so don't be afraid to speak up in class. Walter really goes above and beyond for his students, so doing well in his classes is worth it.
If you want to have a good fundamental knowledge about art history, do not take Meyer' class! A nice professor with an urge to teach a class like a speed dating! U 'll have so many paper but little time to finish or he only gave u half the score! Every 3 days with 6-8 book title questions, I asked him advice about study, no efficient advice at all
I personally had a great experience in professor Meyer's class. His lectures were absolutely amazing, and also went into great depth about art works we were learning about. His office is always open everyone. He truly cares about his students and wants nothing but the best for them. Did I mention he offers tons of EXTRA CREDIT?
BEST PROF I'VE HAD HERE. Having trouble?let him know! Assignments: not a waste of time; lots of reading+thoughtful q's,very clear& gives strong foundation of art his. Extra q's ensure ALL points &late work OK,don't abuse it! Do all assignments& YOU'RE LIKELY TO GET THAT A!even if you mess up on the exams! Had me loving the subject, just put effort!
This class was SO MUCH WORK and a lot of reading and writing, but Meyers is pretty lenient with late work and responds very quickly to emails and questions. Hes a pretty cool teacher, just expect to write a lot.
Great guy, accessible outside of class and a very lenient grader, but i wouldnt reccomend taking this class unless you are an art history major. PLENTY of work to do for an art history class. assignments are relatively easy but expect to read a lot and memorize a ton of pictures. Moves very fast, but if you need help he's always quick to respond
I took this as a summer class. There is a lot of work. Be prepared to spend many hours reading about history and art. I'm not a fan of either but learned a lot through this class because of the hard work he made me do. I love that he is passionate about his field and wants us to walk away with an understanding of art history. Thanks Professor!
HE'S THE BEST!! CARING AND HELPFUL!!
Who would have thought that Art History would be engaging and life-impacting? Not me! But I learned through this class that it's all about your professor. I took this class a couple years ago & I can honestly say that the knowledge I learned in his class has allowed me to boldly and confidently enter every intellectual conversation with ease.
Took his 6-week online winter course... he's a good teacher, very interactive and involved with the class, but there is LOTS of work, so it is not a very laid-back class. If you want an A, you really have to work for it.
Amazing professor. Took his online art class and it was a great decision. He is SUPER understanding. It is a breeze if you stay on track and keep up with the weekly readings.
idk how i feel i mean it was ok like its a big class so i slacked off and was always late hardly ever took notes but i mean i did the essays and got good grades but had so many tabs open. pulled an all nighter got a c on midterm failed final but had all the quizes and did good in the last group project and still passed i missed out on extra credit
This class was great! For each chapter, there is a quiz, homework quiz, and a "Your Culture" assignment. The quizzes are worth 5 points and you can keep doing it till you get 100%. The homework quizzes test that you read the book. The "Your Culture" is for him to see if you can connect the book to your daily life, which is easier than it sounds.
I really enjoyed the class.
This class was great. All of the quizzes and homework assignments were really straight to the point as long as you read the chapter. Learned a ton in this class! Highly recommend
Easiest class i have ever taken in my life. There are 6 question homeworks due each chapter and 4 paragraph discussion, which as long as you somewhat complete you'll get a 100%. Midterm and final were difficult, but they are short answer and he grades extremely generously. This class is an easy A so long as you do the work.
He is a nice person, gave add codes to everyone who trying to add his class. Not a tough grader, he still give me full grade even i didn't finish my homework. You need to write a lot in this class, just read the materials and follow his instruction, this is an easy A.
Easy grader, genuinely interested in what you think about art. Follow his instructions, which are clear, and you'll for sure get an A.
The best professor I have had throughout my 2 years of college. He makes lectures really interesting because he is truly interested in the material he teaches. Make it a mission to show up to his office ours now and again so he knows you and he is always willing to answer questions about assignments.
Easy A but so much busy work!! It's a half semester class so everything is condensed and it was very difficult at times to keep up with the weekly homework and quizzes. He is a very easy grader though and super lenient with deadlines. The answers to all the quizzes are on quizlet, 2 papers throughout the semester, and then the midterm and final.
He is honestly is so incredible. I left his class has such an appreciation for art history and he is cool af with assignments. As long as you do them before the exams, he'll give you credits for them even if theyre late (but dont abuse it and waitt until the end). There are a lot of work but they're not hard. just pace yourself and youll be an A.
I had taken AHIS2 and Meyer subbed one day and his approach on the subject was far from stuffy. I would have liked to take his class on campus for the sole purpose of receiving his awesome lectures. The class was online and moved at a fast pace. This was my 4th AHIS class at SMC and had to take Meyer to cross it off my bucket list! Awesome prof.!
Prof. Meyer has a clear agenda and is unabashed by admitting it fully . Very focused on gender issues. In saying that, professor Meyer is very knowledgeable about his field and is willing to whatever he can to help you succeed. Solid choice if you have to take an art class for an elective etc. Very accessable, open door office hours policy.
AHIS3 '18 was an extraordinary experience after a referral to WJ Meyer for his knowledge and expertise in Art and Education. His confidence and teaching style is unparalleled. Dedicated to helping you learn he offers rich resources, extra credit, generous feedback & is office accessible. Not an easy A but you can get one by just showing up.
He is very organized and well versed on the topic. Stay ahead of when assignments are due, and I don't think he actually reads anything besides the midterm, final, and writing assignments. Just make sure to do the assignments and its an easy A.
BEST ART HISTORY PROFESSOR AT SMC!!! Hes super caring great class do the discussions and homework you will pass The midterm and final are pretty time consuming, but overall great class TAKE HIM!!!
There is at least 5 assignments a week, but if you stay on top of the due dates, you'll get an A. I know absolutely nothing about Art History and honestly made up half of the answers. He's an easy grader and very understanding. It also was a 8 week class!
At first, I didn't have that much interest in Art History. But Professor Meyer really made learning fun and engaging, that he made me love this class! He gives you a review material ahead of time in preparation for the Midterm and Final. I strongly believe that he is the best professor at SMC. P.S he gives a lot of extra credit too!
BEST PROFESSOR AT SMC!! The only reason that you'd get a bad grade in his class is if you are lazy. Just do everything you're tasked to do, and you'll get an easy A. He's such a nice person and cares about his students a lot. Take him!!
It was an honor to be a student under Walter Meyer. I took his Art History class back in 2016, and to this day he is one of the most passionate professors. Engaging, insightful and the information I learned from him I have carried with me. I recall his tests were just to know 5 facts about each piece of art. A lot to study, but ended up with an A!
great professor
Great professor, very easygoing. Took his 6 week course online. Discussions and quizzes were not too bad and he's a very fair grader. However, the tests are tough(10 short answer questions 2 open ended essays in 2 hours) and not enough time is alloted to complete them. I was a straight A student until now.
Professor Meyer is awesome! lenient with due dates. allows you to make up chapter assignments. i asked for a small extension and gave me the okay right away. The work involves critical thinking but the assignments are very interesting. I highly recommend this class. There is a midterm and final with both having a writing assignment with each.
Such an amazing professor, I didn't know how interested I would be in art history. 2 tests but just start studying a week before since there're 100 slides to know. I got over 100% not even doing all the ec. I honestly didn't have to study for the second test cause he gives staple things to memorize & identify.
Meyer is very kind and genuinely cares about his students. His class is very interesting and I would highly suggest it for anyone who has a busy schedule, as the work load is very manageable. Meyer is passionate about the subject and the class has a very positive energy. The book is expensive (use on essays), and add codes are required for quizzes.
Everything is online. All the tests.... just put effort in homework and hell give you 50/50. Hes great and kind
AMAZING QUALITY PROFESSOR. I was dreading art history cause i dont like history , nor am I interested in art but he's been such a great prof I wish he taught more subjects I'd take him again. 10/10. Very dedicated to the class and his students. All assignments are constructive responses including midterm and final. Read and you'll get an A.
Took this as a hybrid class and it was SO easy. Attendance isn't mandatory but definitely helps, and his lectures are so great, you'll never get bored. Genuinely great guy and structures his class so that everyone can easily get an A.
He's a wonderful professor! Not only does he discuss art history topics, he also makes sure to cover note-worthy current events and gives good life advice which I appreciate. The class before the two exams, he reviews the material in depth and basically gives you the questions. I wan't interested in art history before, but this class was enjoyable!
Meyer is amazing! His online AHIS2 class was very straightforward. He's very kind and understanding and grades pretty easy. As long as you read the book and do the work (he tells you exactly what he's looking for in your responses). Do as you're told and make the effort and there's no reason you won't get an A.
Idk what to say honestly. Yes I did get an A, but I have to really put my blood sweat and tears into it. Its definitely A LOT of work, however he grades very easy... full credit. But you really just have to do all the work and youll pass. Very easy grader so hell prob just give you full credit for junk
Prof. Meyer is an awesome professor. Each week you have about 3 Images, which is describing what you see in an artwork, and 3 Homeworks, which are about 8 questions each about the artwork. I do not believe he reads any of this, as he always gives 100% on these assignments if you do them. However, he does grade the midterm and final but easily.
Pretty easy A. Definitely take it if you have a heavy course load and need something easy
This professor was absolutely amazing! He such an easy going professor and accepts late work. It was an easy class and Id take him again!
Professor Meyer is very considerate about turning in assignments late. Especially due to covid-19 circumstances this semester. He uploads links for the hw to do and it is very doable. You can work at your own pace and this is very helpful if you are busy during the day. A good professor overall!
Professor Meyer, is amazingly gracious with his timelines. Use your adult words to accomplish his assignments and reach out to him if you need more time. If youve taken Humanities or Art Appreciation, then this course is just revisiting epochs and will be a breeze. Hes really awesome, so if youre lazy, just save your seat for someone else!
Head of the Dept and literally the best Prof. Passionate about Art History, gives extra credit assignments, provides great feedback and all around creates a fun and informative class.
Professor Meyer is the best professor I've met throughout my college career. His materials are really interesting and he provides a clear rubric for each hws.
Professor Meyer is so understanding and relaxed. He is not a tough grader. The material he assigns is very interesting and you can tell he has a passion for what he teaches. Take his class, easy A, you won't regret it!
Took him for a winter course. Really easy coursework; be prepared to do a lot of assignments. Problem is how he doesn't really set any clear grading criteria, and you'll have to seek out for feedback yourself. Might be the time constraints of the semester, though. You'll easily pass or even get an A if you just do the work.
Super easy class, deadlines only suggested so you can do nothing all semester and just submit by the end but don't do this since there's a lot of assignments. There are 45 assignments 10 points each 3 discussions 20 points each and four essays 100 points. Grades on completion so there's no excuse on not getting a good grade.
Super easy A, I took him for the summer term (no online zooms, all on canvas) which consists of 45 assignments, 4 essays, and 4 discussions. He gives you full points as long as you do the assignments and discussions. For the essays, he grades super easy I never got anything below a 95.
Professor Meyer was a real gem! His class was very easy, and as long as you showed up to the lectures you would get a passing grade. The material was engaging and interesting and I never wanted to miss a class. His sense of humor is great, and he made me laugh a couple of times. Definitely recommend!
Easiest A I have ever earned while learning so much. You get credit just for showing up and his lectures are hilarious and super engaging. He really is here for you and is dedicated to your success. If you need to your art GEN ED, Prof Meyers is the way to go.
I won't say much except Professor Meyer is truly one of the most caring people and professors I have ever had. His lectures were captivating and he made sure we were understanding the content. Wish I could take a class with him again.
He seems like a professor who truly appreciates art history. He grades as fast as lightning & tries to be accommodating to students. He makes his expectations & deadlines clear right at the beginning. He frequently updates students & gives thoughtful answers to replies on discussion forums. Seems like he would be an amazing professor in-person!
Professor Meyer is the best Art History 1 instructor. Give Professor 24 hours to respond to your email. He specifically states that on his syllabus. There are a lot of assignments, but I believe as long as you stay focused and give it your all, you will succeed in the class. Take advantage of office hours! Keep the communication consistent!
If you need GE class, take him. You will learn however all the work is manageable. I learned so much from him. He grades on completion and is lenient on deadlines. Planning on taking him again. One of the best professors at SMC. TAKE HIM !!!
Online class, never got to know the professor. It's an autopilot class. No exams, no papers. Short essays throughout. You watch videos, do essays. Professor is not really present. Very easy A. Topics were interesting and enjoyable but there is no professor present, you're just kind of phoning it in, which is ok.Helps when other classes are harder.
I can't say enough good things about professor Meyer. He's THE BEST. Extremely caring, inspirational, knowledgable, and just overall great at what he does. It's an absolute pleasure to be in his classroom, take one of his classes if you ever have the opportunity! You will not regret it.
On ground. The best teacher I have ever had. Absolutely hilarious, lectures are like a comedy show and he's really nice. Gives full credit for everything as long as you try even a little. His homework questions do get a little annoying bc they're hella deep for no reason sometimes but that's it. 10/10
Really great teacher with an obvious passion for the subject. His assignments are both very easy, but really insightful and actually made art fun to analyze. There are a lot of assignments, but doing one will not take more than 10-15 minutes each. Some are longer but do one each day and you won't have to worry. Great class that I really enjoyed
I took a fully online class so I didn't get to know him well but this was the easiest A I have taken, period. There's a lot of small "busy work" assignments (don't let them pile up like I did) & overall everything was slightly repetitive but truly, SO easy. He will let you submit late work anytime but I didn't even have to take advantage of that.
The BEST teacher ever. You won't regret it. He's a lifesaver professor.
Not a difficult class but there is a lot of work. Some assignments are fun some are more busy work. Professor seems nice and the semester was smooth.
professor meyer's class is pretty easy. he gives quite a bit of homework, but most of the assignments are 5-10 questions from a link he provides. none of the assignments have hard deadlines, he said that the due dates were suggestions. theres only 3-4 essays for the entire class. pretty chill guy
Professor Meyer's AHIS1 class is a breeze. The assignments are quick and insightful, and he's very accommodating. Unstuckstudy AI was a huge help for study prep too. Definitely recommend this class!
You can take this class as either for just credit or to learn, or both. Really passionate, personable, & educated professor that gives you the grade you want as long as you try. SHOW UP TO LECTURE TO GET EXTRA CREDIT. Not difficult at all. Don't use AI, unless you can't write a mere 2 page essay (double spaced) by yourself (lol).
The class material was diverse, and essays were based on art pieces we chose. Professor Meyer gave us the freedom to express our opinions and choose which pieces resonated with us. Overall, a great instructor with an interesting course.
Truly one of the best professors at SMC. He makes every class worth going to, he makes you laugh while still motivating and teaching you in ways that inspire and leave you wanting more. His way of teaching is exciting and engaging. Even if you're not an art major I would definitely recommend everyone take his class.
This class is A LOT of reading. 4 easy. Compare contrast analysis etc. lots of reading! Did I say that? Time consuming but easy assignments IF you do the reading. Professor accepts late work and is so so so caring. Not a challenge to get an A IF …. Once again you do the reading and the work
major aot fan. do i need to say anything else? no but rly 10/10 cuz his lectures were interesting & his swearing kept me very much awake which is a feat in itself.
