Required for class credit

I would have never thought that for me an online math course would be more interesting than a classroom. The way Proffesor Rothaug teach this course makes it understandable and knowledgeable. Particpatin is required and the math testes are not easy,but this has been the best math Class I have taken thus far.

This professor was okay. I took my class online and it wasnt as bad as expected. It was a bit more work but he was fair in his grading and timely in responding to emails. Would take again.

Can't really complain about the professor

For an online class, there was the usual expected amount of work given. There are a lot of forums, but it is pretty easy to do once you read the articles that are given. Professor is good at responding on time to emails and is very helpful. I would take another one of his classes! Take him, you won't regret it!

He does lots of reading along with discussions. I would take him again if I could! The tests are fairly easy. Since it's an online class you have to teach yourself the material. Awesome professor and he's quick to answer all of your emails and can help you if you are falling behind

He is usually willing to answer whatever questions you may have about the subject. As long as you pay attention to the work, the quizzes and tests are very simple and manageable. He is willing to slightly delay due dates for tests that some students that may fall behind on. Even though I dislike math, his class has taught me to appreciate it.

You have homework every week but he posts assignments ahead of time so that you can plan your week accordingly if you have other classes or a full time job like myself. Its pretty easy work but you have to teach yourself if you take the online class. A lot of readings and discussion forums. Definitely would take him again!

Amazing teacher do all your work and you will pass. Don't do your work and you will fail. But, if you study properly you should do fine.

Honestly, I did not find the course to be as difficult as other students say. It is each week that you need to log in to the math portal twice and finish your homework which has unlimited attempts and amazing explanations!! At the end of the week, you will have an Exam based on the homework for the week. It cannot get easier 2 Attempts on the Exam.

This was an online class. There was lots of homework but nothing I couldn't manage. There is a chapter test most weekends due on Sunday (sometimes he extends it to Tuesday). The professor seems really funny and I would take him again!

I took an online class. Was a lot of work between the online videos and the reading, but he will also be extending the due date from Sunday to Tuesday. If you are well organized with your time, then this class should not be a problem.

Weekly tests due Sundays from homeworks done that week. 4 homeworks a week. Great feedback from professor. Agree, just as long as you dont slack off and complete the homework, test, and forums you should pass this class. Oh, 2 films to watch & answer questions about the films. No book need, power points provided. Would take his class again.

I really hate math but really enjoyed this class. Not bad, weekly test due every Sunday and a couple discussion posts. Any questions you have can be answered in the PPT or the math portal. PPTs are really clear and give you the information you need. I would definitely take this professor again!

I am not a fan of math and never liked it however, this course was interesting and fun. The professor made sure Students were on track with their work and encourages to ask question and think outside the box. I would recommend this class to my friends.

Class was fairly easy! As with all online classes, be sure to be on top of your homework and your motivation. CHECK MOODLE AND EMAILS EVERYDAY!!!

Professor Rothaug is very fair and specific. He wants you to understand the material in the course and pass. If you have any questions and email him, he gets back to you the same day. He sends reminders out for his exams and homework due. He tells you everything that needs to be done in advance, there are no surprises. I learned a lot in this class

It is a useful course for self-study. However there is a bit too much writing for a math class. If thinking positively it is a good course to improve math and critical thinking.

The online class wasn't too bad. Two major papers that were only like 3 pages each. The only hard thing about the class was that it was very homework heavy. I was doing homework every night for this class which normally I don't have to.

I took the class online, overall it was a decent class. He extended some due dates which was nice of him. There is a discussion, homework and a test every week and two major writing assignments. Workload on some weeks were heavier than others, keep up and you'll pass.

Good professor, at least better than most. Definitely recommend if you struggle with math the way I do. I didn't appreciate that he didn't grade certain written assignments he made us do, other than that he's pretty fair with the way he grades things.

Be prepared to spend hours doing homework. The course is very intense, but its a Math course so you could not expect something different.

The way I describe Rothaug is that he's a good teacher and is pretty reasonable with his students which I greatly respect him for that. When I dealt with the problem with tests, he was kind enough to give me 99 additional minutes to work on the tests which I'm very grateful for him doing that. Rothaug is a smart, clear spoken, and flexible man.

I took this class online and I think the professor was great. You emailed him with any questions or concerns and he got back to you to help. The course itself being online was not very easy, I did practically have to live in the tutoring center but overall great professor. If you need to take this class though, I would encourage taking it in person

Prof. Rothaug is a great teacher but he does give a lot of reading for a math class and theres a midterm paper and final paper but he really tries to help you as best as he can and gives you extra credit.

My professor was straight to the point. He make sure he used things that we would eventually use in the future.

I took this course to fulfill a mathematics requirement. The professor is a nice person, and he is checks his emails often, so you can easily contact him if there is an issue. I would take this class again because although there were many tests and homework assignments, it was not too difficult of a course at all.

Be prepared, there is A LOT of homework. Tests every week, but you are able to take the tests ONLY if you finish 70% of your homework. Lots of reading as well. But overall not bad for a Math class.

I took this class online. Dr. Rothaug is a great math professor, his online notes were great and understanding, he always response to your email. This class had a good amount of Homework and Tests. Homework mostly due twice a week, followed by a test. Multiple attempts to solve all homework questions, which makes it easier to get full grade. Work load more than a traditional class. Overall, best Math course I ever took.

My online experience was an okay one. He had all the assignments up and ready at the very start of the semester so we could keep track of when everything was do. We used persons was the usual math work, but we also had some forums to do through moodle. It was definitely a different type of math experience and the math is hard but a good class.

Being that the math course is online, it was a lot of independent reading and learning. But, he always answered emails, as well as, extending test days 90% of the time. He's an understanding professor, especially with knowing holidays and such get the best of us. PLUS HE SENDS THE CUTEST, FUNNIEST EMAILS! Like they made my week all semester!

What I think f Professor Rothaug is that his course has caused me to open up my mind to the bigger picture of Mathematics and allowing me to see the philosophical aspect of math. I saw Rothaug as an inspiration tp help students push themselves to do better in their research. I would consider Rothaug a fair and considerate teacher.

Took Math130 Summer course. Clear syllabus / deadlines for work all outlined on moodle. Interesting math related readings/ films to write about. A concise and good course to take if you are looking to meet a math requirement. Normal work load for time frame. If you watch all required videos/lessons and participate in all forums, A or B very likely.

I took Professor Rothaug's online course this summer. His emails were always fun to read and I can tell he's a great teacher who loves mathematics. The course load may seem like a lot if you are working or doing other things, but if you manage your time well you should be fine. None of the assignments are too difficult as long as you prepare.

I took his online MAT 130 class this summer. I SUCKKKK at math and have never gotten higher than a C in math until I took this online course. Reading and writing aren't difficult. You get what you put into this course. Stay on top of your work. The workload may look overwhelming at first but it isn't. TAKE HIS ONLINE CLASS. START A WEEK BEFORE!

Very understand and wants to see his students succeed!

This coarse was a great coarse I chose to finish my math credits. For the most part it wasn't the easiest class but definitely not the most difficult. It was very convenient being only online for me because I work full-time and not commuting to school was nice.

Great professor. Math is not my favorite but his discussions made it a lot more interesting. Weekly home and test that you get two attempts at - it really helped! The workload seems like a lot but as long as you follow the due dates the course flies by.

Im not the best at math, but it was not to bad. I took the course online. There were other opportunities(assignments) besides the typical math tests and homework problems to contribute to your final grade which helps if you aren't the best at math or taking tests.

It was my first taking online classes. At the begging I felt lost but now I feel that math gave some powerful skill to knowledge to solve problems. Reinforced my logical reasoning against emotional thoughts. So it was challenged for me.

Professor Rothaug was a great online Professor. He was very clear with the assignments and with the due dates. He worked well with the pearson website, where all of our work was posted. Also, the powerpoints and notes that he posted were very helpful. I was fond of Professor Rothaug and I recommend him to other students.

The class was good. I was scared to take an online course, but Professor Rothaug makes things clear. The class used moodle and MyMathLab. The course was consistent.

Professor Rothaug is a very nice guy. He is positive and you can tell that he is passionate about his craft. There is a lot of work that is slightly time consuming. As long as you keep up with the work it is easy to get good grades. Professor Rothaug is super fair and gives more than enough opportunities to make sure you can get a good grade. There are two chances to take the tests as long as attempted before the due date and will even give opportunity to take the tests once for a short period after due date.

Dr. Walter Rothaug's online class is very organized and i really enjoyed the class, i had to work for my grade. Hard works pays off. He is very lenient & i would definitely take this class again!

Definitely different from any other math class Ive had. It was interesting and it not only taught you about the logic way to think it made you think outside the box. If you follow each section and communicate with the other students on moodle you will do fine. I had a hard time with my moodle account and because of that I started late.

I took his course online. It was not his fault I found this course so difficult, but the material which is required on the online textbook. I dreaded each assignment and the tests, because I was so unsure whether I was going to pick up the information or not. This class will make or break you. Did not receive more than a B on any test.

One of the best math teachers i have ever had. His class is really interesting unlike other math professors I've taken in the past. He's a very fair teacher, only thing i did not enjoy about the class was the amount of homework. Aside from that a real gem of a math teacher.

Contemp Math is a tough course, but Pearson is actually helpful when it comes to learning. It was an online class and learning the material is on you. You will have to sign up for Pearson, so be prepared to spend around $100 on access for the semester.

This was the first professor who actually took the time to send weekly emails to reach out with information and what was coming up that was due. Since this was an online course, these emails made me believe this Professor cared and was readily available if I had any questions.

Overall, this class was challenging, but Professor Rothaug made math fun. There is a lot of homework, but you can keep trying until you get a good grade. Also, the tests, do reflect the homework questions, so make sure you do the homework. There are some papers in this course, but they are simple. Put your mind to the work, and you will get an A

For this course you use my math lab and have an exam due weekly. You can't take the exam until you have completed the homework for the chapter with a 70% or higher. You also will have discussion forums and papers. It is not an easy A and there is a lot of work however I found this online course to be much better than an in person math class .

You will not only learn math, you will also understand how math influences our life. Each chapter has homework and test due end of each week. Discussion topics are incredibly instructive.

The class overall is not an easy course. You need to put in the work in order to receive a good grade. Be ready to actually study and get work done. No textbook needed but mymathlab is used. Need a 70% higher on homework in order to take exams. Overall good course.

It was an online class, but we needed to have the lessons and tests done by a certain date. We were allowed 2 attempts at each chapter test as long as it was still before the due date. There were a lot of reading assignments to count as participation. We would have to read the papers/articles then discuss in a forum and answer to at least 3 people.

I have been able to cultivate various perspectives on the subject matter through this subject. In particular, I think the professor's assignments and forums are enough to arouse interest in modern mathematics. I would strongly recommend this subject for those who is not interested in math.

He's really a great teacher, and seems as though he truly cares about helping students get a good grade. It's good to see a professor who actually cares about their students!

This was a good class, Professor always allowed an extra day after test were due to complete the test. If for some reason you needed extra time you can send him a email explaining your situation and he would be very understanding. only thing I did not enjoy was the article readings and the 3 videos we had to watch were boring

While the bulk of the content for the class is through mypearson, Mr. Rothaug provided assignments that made the student view mathematics at a different perspective. I have to say that as a result of taking this class, I have a newfound appreciation for math.

Took this class online would recommend 8/10. Tests & Homework are on MyMathLab. Tests are due by the end of the week (Sunday). Tests are a little difficult but you do have 2 attempts. Dr. Rothaug also assigns forms but they do not show up on Moodle when its posted so you have to stay on top of that. Other than that I would recommend.

This professor was great. I had him for Math 130 Online course for the spring semester of 2019. There was a lot of homework and the exams were difficult but if you manage your time you will pass. Tutoring is definitely needed if people are not good at math like I am. I strongly encourage people to use tutoring for this course.

The course can get difficult if you don't pace yourself. The material was very interesting to read and did make me look at math in a knew light. Would recommend if you are tired overdoing "traditional" mathematics. I recommend most of my friends to take it if they are looking for something different.

I took online class professor uses my math lab + modle essays. You can track your progress from my mathlab. Dont forget to look at the modle, i didn't know there was homeworks on modle so my grade went down a lot. But this was my fault.

This class was definitely NOT what I expected. If youre not a math lover like me, you wont like it simply because of the math, but overall the class was not difficult. The professor is wonderful and he replies promptly to emails. His work is all straight forward and you really just need to practice practice practice in order to pass.

Do the work, and put in effort and you'll pass. Even if you're not the best at it, he comes off as understanding and gives opportunity for extra credit.

Professor Rothaug is a really nice professor. I took his online course and have always struggled in math. He always gives an extra day or two to take the test if you missed it. He offers extra points by participating in forums online. He wants everyone to pass his class.

Professor Rothaug very respectful and caring. for the online class you had to do homework before accessing the test, but he usually extends the deadline for the tests giving students the chance to to improve their grades. you can easily communicate with him over email and he answers right away.

Professor Rothaug is a great professor, however I have trouble understanding math and could get quite frustrated. The videos in my math lab are extremely helpful though, but you do have to take your time understanding the material. The only thing I would say is I wish we had a little more time on the tests.

I took his strictly online class so I've never actually met him, but from his emails, he seems pretty nice. He gave leniency for all of the tests and assignments, and the two essays were on movies so those were enjoyable.

Be prepared to participate in forums. Writing assignments and forums are worth 24% of your grade. Homework is due twice a week. The good thing is you can re-take your test if you're not satisfied with your grade. Overall an interesting course, especially if you're interested in mathematicians from the past.

Mr. Rothaug made it a very easy and manageable online math class! In my case, it was my first online math class and it was honestly super easy to follow for tests, homework assignments and the way he grades every week. I would recommend for anyone who needs to take an online class to have it done with this professor!

I took the online course, so I've never actually met him, however based off of the emails, he seems like a nice guy. He makes his criteria pretty clear and the assignments are not the easiest out there, so do them as soon as possible and don't slack to give yourself enough time to properly grasp the material.

The class is very tedious and there is alot of homework due per week so you have to be committed. The professor gives you an opportunity for extra credit and he is caring to your needs if you show effort. Prof. Walter responds to emails and any questions and is willing to work with you.

I am in this class online and I am doing well in it. I loved that we had power points, videos, and the textbook pages accessible to us in order to teach ourselves at home a lot easier. However, he gives a lot of homework. There is homework due twice a week and a test due almost every Sunday night. It does give a lot of room to boost your grade.

There is a lot of math lab required for this course. I took the online version so there was something due every Sunday. Fair grader, gives a lot of work but grades it fairly. He is also generous in giving a second chance on a test you did poorly on. Responds quickly to emails. Overall good teacher.

This class is very challenging and demanding. Every day, I was studying 2 to 3 hours. I would not have been able to take another class while taking this math class, working and having kids.

Took his online class for MAT-130 and basically you self teach yourself everything. If you do all the work you should be fine. Tests every week there is tons of homework. The forums are annoying even though you think you did good on the forums he grades low there. But if you do good on the tests you should be fine. Nothing to worry about no regrets

It can be hard to keep up with the due dates expecially towards the end but overall it was a good challenging course.

Professor Rothaug was great! He uses humor in all his emails to the class. Most of the homework and tests, were taken in mymathlab. If you didn't take a test by the due date, he gives you an extra day to complete. Overall, you just have to keep up with all the homework, forums and tests in order to pass the class.

This was a great class, it was challenging and the pacing was good. Downsides... the grading for the the written responses seemed arbitrary and the due dates for each were confusing as they were not labeled on moodle. The professor was prompt with responding and great about reaching out to students for updates.

Math has always been a struggle for me, however this class has made me enjoy math a bit more. Professor Walter is attentive and forward, great at answering emails and also gives students the opportunity to re-do an exam! He even gives you an extra day to complete test. Overall, highly recommend. The work you put in in what you get out!

This was a tough class for me, as I have never had a love affair with math. Tutor was a must! Math wizards, this will be a breeze for you, tutor would joke at how easy it is. Glad this is the last math class. Did my best.

I took his online class and let tell you it was much work. every week there was a lot of homework and a chapter test that were hard you think you'll find the answers online you won't because he changes the questions so they are not online at all

It's a lot of work but it's super easy. If you can get ahead of schedule you'll do just fine. Homework twice a week and a test every week but again it's easy. Participate in the forums!

I Had absolutely no trouble with this teacher. The course is pretty self explanatory, do the assignments and take a test. You are asked to participate in a forum which gets annoying at times, but compared to other classes its really not that bad. I would totally recommend this class especially if you don't want to take pre-calculus.

Professor Rothaug showed me math in a different light. We were not only assigned math homework but discussion questions. I enjoyed the course. This professor is also caring. I was late on one assignment and he gave me a chance to attempt it for a second time.

I liked this liberal arts course, as someone who is not great at math I liked being able to submit written work for credit, it took pressure off of only being graded from math problems.

Get ready to study if you're not great in math but overall, it was a doable course.

My experience with Professor Rothaug was not a bad one, but then again, when you learn online you usually have little to no connection with your professor. I took his Contemporary Math class and it was a lot of work, but is completely manageable with effort. You usually receive 1 chapter a week, with 5 sections, and one test. Overall 8/10

This class was one of my hardest. I pray I do not fail because I need this class in order to graduate next semester. Math is my weak point HOWEVER the professor does respond quickly. He is attentive and cares about your concerns. Cons are that papers are due in this class. This slowed me down. Also the issue that the test are timed.

The online class takes uses both math software and moodle discussions. The moodle work is easy, thought provoking, and honestly the best part of the class. The actually math work and tests aren't really hard but they're not easy either. Honestly as long as you apply yourself you'll do fine. There is a good amount of work but easily manageable.

His class will make you do work but they are all manageable. If you put your effort in it will be an easy A. You will work on two different platforms: Moodle and Pearson. Have test every week. As long as you do your work you will do great.

I did not mind the class, it was online so you have to teach yourself the material. But, I did not find it too challenging, there are practice tests that are helpful as well as homework that reflects the material on the test. This online class is all about time management; set out the time, you'll do great!

Every week was about the same amount of work with a test due every weekend, so once you get in the habit of doing all the work each week then the class becomes pretty easy and not that stressful.

The class is all online and you have tests almost each week. They are much more difficult then I thought they would be but it can be done. The professor always helps when needed and answers emails quickly.

Was a difficult self taught course. Defiantly worked for it. Mostly upset with the school for not giving a good description of what the class is, that isnt on the professor. Professor answered emails in a timely manner.

This was a difficult course for the most part but I did learn some interesting things. I would certainly only take this course if you need it or love the concepts of the basics of math. It requires a lot of thinking which also requires a lot of time. Grading system is straight to the point! 1 random essay and have to study for tests. Extra cred too

Professor Rothaug is great, he responds to emails quickly, and gives good feedback. The only concern is that you must be ready for lots of homework done in MYMATHLAB, some forums on moodle and one essay. But, if you are good at time managment, you can get everything done on time. Overall a great Professor, would take him again.

Professor Rothaug was a great teacher who encouraged me to do my best with his course. He also had a good sense of humor and helped us expand our perception of mathematics. I just wished his deadlines weren't so strict.

We had many homework assignments on MyMathLab but with a reasonable period of time to complete them. The professor always answer my emails and was quick to do so. Overall I would consider taking the professor again!

I though this professor gave an appropriate workload of homework, quizzes and discussions, and I didn't feel very overwhelmed throughout the semester. This was an entirely online course, so the professor was involved as he could be, but all assignments and lessons were more self-taught through the MathLab.

No complaints really. Graded everything on time and presented a fair amount of work. If you study and put in the effort it's an easy pass.

He is a very chill professor. Personally, if you are doing well in class, he will give you extra time to finish off your work. its almost the end of the semester and he told us that we can retake any test we want to increase our score! i had a bad score but gratefully i was able to fix it. He is very easy, 10/10 would suggest..

The professor always gives out reviews on the assignment and explains what to do. He emails letting us know when the assignment is due and when the test is due. On each assignment he gives out he gives a lot of good explanation and direction on what to do on the assignment. The assignments and test were challenge to me, but I got good grades on it.

My class was fully online and through that, Professor Rothaug made the semester go smoothly with his organized page. His genuine interest in the subject really shows. If you pay attention and get your assignments done, which is an average amount, you will get the grade you want. 100% recommend!

Mr. Rothaug is very responsive and heavily uses e-mail to update students. Moodle is out of date and 99% of the class is on mymathlab. 1 essay & tests count for a massive percentage but you get 2 tries.There is a ton of homework and you mostly have to teach yourself, but unfortunately thats the case for most online courses. Overall recommend.

Just completed the online Contemporary Mathematics class with Professor Rothaug. You will learn a tremendous amount in this class! Make sure that you are consistently completing work on MyMathLab and stay on top of his announcements, etc. Use homework to prepare for weekly online assessments! Rewarding class if you remain consistent and focused!

Pretty chill dude. This class was online asynchronous and there were a few homework assignments and a quiz every week. The guy is very understanding when it comes to extensions. Overall good teacher.

dr rotaug is a great professor who makes this class very easy for all his students. his schedule and curriculum include multiple homework assignments and a test you must complete weekly. there also a required paper you have to do in order to pass the class. overall, i had a great experience with dr. rotaug.

Very solid professor to have for a class. Responds fairly quickly to emails. Although the workload can seem overwhelming at times if the assignments are completed and you study accordingly it should be a pretty straightforward class.

You must be on top of your homework! Tests are pretty accurate if you follow up with your homework weekly. Professor Rothaug was understanding through difficulty and was very helpful throughout the course. I suggest this course and would take this class again!

I really enjoyed this course. Professor Rothaug's class can be difficult, but if you stay on top of the assignments and read from the textbook, you should be fine. Tests were fairly easy, make sure to do work on time and not leave it for the last minute because work can pile up quickly.

Get the homework and tests done and you will be fine. The professor emails you to remind you of assignments and usually gives an extra day. You also get two chances on the tests

First I like to start off by saying that Math has always been my least favorite subject. I struggled with math however taking Professor Rothaug class turned out to be the best option. He is very organized with homework assignments and weekly test. He always responds to emails and he is always helpful. I highly recommend this class. Good Professor.
