super energetic, strong mother figure, always happy, funny, if you have alot of time and not alot of other classes i would definetly take her again, keeps things interesting, makes you care because she does. super intelligent woman with great experience.
Prof. Smith is a good professor. Unfortunately, though, she will overburden you with torturous homework assignments. If you are a casual class taker and have the free time, go for it. If not, steer clear from any of her classes.
Fun class. A little time consuming when it comes to homework, just don't procrastinate. Attend classes & you'll get lots of extra credit. She'll make you attend some events (on campus) outside of class to give you a better view of politics.
great teacher. makes it fun. i have recommended her to other students. work load is on the heavy side, though. also, she is STRICT about attendence and HATES it when people are late to class.
She is a great person, she has lots of energy and likes the class to have energy. She expects her assignments to be completed dont BS if you didn't do the work. Her test come straight from review terms and powerpoints. She gives extra credit, loves people, gets you envolved and exspects hard work

prof smith hates it when people are late! you eill not be allowed to comine in the class. her tests are pretty hard but has a lot of hands on activites. i would recommend, and laso u better not b late you will spend alot of time standing in the hall
Mrs. Smith is one of the funniest teacher I have ever had. You will never get bored of her. She will leave you hanging outside if you'll late.Her test are hard but, 90% are from notes and 10% from reading. You will learn alot because she teaches the subject with excitement.
Professor Smith is one of the best teachers I've ever encountered. She is willing to help students as long as they are willing to help themselves. She does not simply give information and let you figure it out; she does a lot of in class exercises to make sure you understand the material.
Material is easy, class is hard. She treats students as children yet expects adult ethics, which is it? Adult or child? no excuses for late, not typed or missed classes, even if you have a note from the president of the college!I got an A but it was the hardest A I ever earned and I have a 4.0. 68hr
One of the worst professors I have had. She could never give an answer when a student asked a question. Vague point/ extra credit system. Agree she treats students like children. BUT, she gives enough stupid homework assignments to keep your grade up.
Hard Professor. She doesn't like it when your late, you will stand out in the hall until she is ready for you to come in. When giving assignments, she forgets what she says for an assignment, when you try to tell her what she daid she don't want to hear it. Gives reviews for the tests and finals.
The tests and material were easy but Prof. Smith was a bit of a tyrant. She gets too hung up on classroom edicate that may be appropriate in middle school but unnessicary in a college.

very nice and funny professor, just dont call her by her first name. if u have a chance take two copies of the tests when she hands them out, she doesnt give them back to study for final, unless u want to set in her office for 4 hours and study. i liked her though. good class to take.
What a joke....this is by far the EASIEST class on the web at this school, not any real work, just post a test question. Bad about email response is slow though. would not take again.
holds classroom politics is high regards, she expects you to be in class on time, and to turn in assignments on the due date, the way they are assigned. she doesnt make exceptions. you will learn the material. made and A and it wasnt hard at all, all you have to do follow simple instructions.
She is the worst teacher I've ever had. She imposes her own political bias into every lecture, test question, and textbook choice she makes. I want a teacher that will make me think hard about both sides of the political debate, not force me into her liberal ideology.
Had her last semester, doesn't tolerate tardies. Gives simple instructions, on homework. Lots of reading, had powerpoint lectures. Got a B. Multiple choice q's not too hard. Have to like reading to understand everything, except for the texas politics too hard to understand.
Mrs. Smith is a very liberal woman. It makes me sick how she tries to shove her own beliefs down the throats of students. She treats students like kids and forces you to work in groups, which is fine unless you get a bad group--then you're screwed cause she cuts no breaks. Extremely irritating.

If you're late, forget about getting into the class. She'll be late, trust me, and she'll walk in and push her hypocrital point of view on how you musn't be being late. Stay away!!!
Amazing, i totally hate govt but she made it very fun and interesting. Got a "B" and didnt study hard at all! the ones with the neg. comments are the ones that probably acted like high school students, talking in the back and walking in late ( yeah they know who they are,the rude kids) just follow the rules,its not that hard.You are in college now
She'd be a good high school teacher. I think that's where she ought to be. She is very strict, and will make you wait outside if you get to class once she's started talking, which is almost always right on time. She's incredibly liberal, and will press her point of view. She also requires service learning a lot of the time.

I am very disappointed in this class. There is no way to figure out how you are doing until the test (there are just two). Emails are VERY slow in answer. Three books? Not much on the web for notes. Very easy class but don't expect to learn much.

She can be a bit intimidating at times. Over all, she is very clear in what she expects of you. Don't be afraid to ask questions! She does tend to baby the students. This can be very very annoying. She is very high on respect. She expects it although she doesn't always give it. She is a marginal professor.
Mrs. Smith is a very good teacher, I am learning so much in her class. She knows how to explain things so you can understand it. She tells you at the beginning of the semester what she expects of you, rather then just making rules up as she goes along like some professors do, out of spite. I highly recomend her.

ok ok so shes hard, she lectures about the subject and its not too bad on the ears. but its just HER interpretation of the material, come test time its all from the book. i passed with a C which isnt too bad, but i dont suggest her class. especially if its your first semester in college. BUT she does give a lot of extra credit opportunities

Very biased lady. The course is easy but she makes it more difficult than it has to be. She will post all information needed for the course and will not answer your question if it is anywhere in the mass of information she gives. Would not recommend for those who want a typical class just to get it out of the way.
Wouldn't recommend her class. First assignment was to get strangers to register to vote. No real need to go to class. She lectures from Power Point presentation which you can read on your own. Treats class like children. If there is any noise she will stand annoyed until the paper shuffeling, talking, etc. is over

HORRIBLE!!! She tried to drop me minutes before I took my finals, then told me she was wrong after my test. We had a mock debate and everyones opinion was wrong. Its like President Bush hired her to teach politics!
Horrible teacher. If you need to ask about any assignments in class she tells you "talk to me at my office hours." She cants just answer a simple question. She seems cool and fun on first days but she is by far the WORST teacher i have ever had in my life......only 4 students remained at the end of the semester...that says a lot

Professor Smith is easily the worst on the entire campus of San Antonio College; dont even think of taking her class. I had 304 out of 308 course points two days before the final, and my grade dropped to a 'c' because she plays favorites and believed lies that I was cheating. She makes you do ridiculous things like jumping on one foot, and sit ups.
I'm continuing my review to persuade anyone reading this page to never take her class, it won't be worth your time. She tells and expects you to have a voice, but then you are not allowed to talk about things that actually matter. She is horrible with helping students, and expects everyone to have time to come to office hours.

I signed up for a on-campus class and she turned it into an internet course. She treats students like grade school children. The work load she gives is extremely time consuming. She requires 3 textbooks that cost $250. I would not recommend this professor to anyone unless you feel like being treated like a 2nd grade student.

She is a GREAT TEACHER. She was very intimidating at first and loud but once you get into the class she is very helpful. She explains things and MAKES EVERYONE participate so you understand. Each class there are group activities and SHE GIVES TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT opportunities...EASY A.
Took this one as an internet class. Her on line lectures are extensive and she has spent a LOT of time putting study/course information onto her website. Do not expect to blow this one off and pass, the tests are short and timed. Test Qs are often difficult to interpret. She will help if you go to her office or meet with her via online chats

She gives too much information to read that gets you nowhere. You have to read a 300 page text just to figure out what she wants in class and then buy 3 books that you barely use. She was hardly available and then only in the VERY early AM hours. I would NEVER take a class with her again.

I took Professor Smith for may-mester. The class was fast paced, but very interesting. Mrs. Smith loves all her students and is very helpful, yet very demanding as well. I went into her class not knowing anything about gov, but left with much knowledge gained. I absolutely recommend her.

DONT DO IT! Her orientation is about 3 days long to cover her dislikes. She requires checking her website daily incase she changes her mind about due dates. She moves tough projects closer vs back. She reqs you to become a city registrar and register people drving downtown 3 times on your own time. If I wasn't GI bill I would have dropped day one!

Smith was very loud and crazy but nice. She is very willing to help you if you ask, I was failing at the midterm and started going to her study sessions and ended the course with a B. She does require that you go online everyday to check her webpage she will give you overnite assignments. But she also gives lots of extra credit around 50 points
Im pretty sure that she writes the "good" comments on this page because she is HARD. If you like ALLOT of homework, and LOVE to study for complicated exams. And want to spend your free time on crazy projects, Then yes you will LOVE THE HECK out of Smith.
Smith was ok. She started out very understanding and cared but then turned very cold and unwilling to listen to reason. I would take her again though. Just make sure to read the instructions, otherwise they will get you.
I took her Internet course and got an A. She required three books, and they were very expensive. Her timed quizzes are bases on her long slide presentations and some vocabulary from two books. Her final sort of required the third big book. She takes a couple days to respond to emails.
Don't BE LATE!!! Come prepared! Follow Direction!! If these are things you have a problem with, you won't get far in this class. I loved this class, and how Prof. Smith taught it! Picky, refuses to use first names, long winded. Seemed challenging and interesting, then called me on a holiday and told me to drop because I made a 75 (PASSING) on the first test. Had no clue who I was; we'd spoken 2 days prior. Take at your own risk.
At first, I really liked the instructor. She is very passionate about her career and is very excited to teach the class. It wasn't until later on in the semester that I would find out that she is very rude, has poor communication skills and is a hypocrite. Definetely would not recommed her even to enemies.

I just completed this course with Professor Smith online & I found this course VERY intersting. This professor cares about her students and has spent a lot of time preparing material to ensure their success in her class. Persons rating her as "bad" must realize they are adults and must act like one. I would take another class fm Prof. Smith.
Overall good online class. Didn't use textbook at all and got an A. Tests are given Mon. thru Fri. so if you want to do your work on the weekend, don't take her. Strict attendance policy, no give at all.

This was the easiest class I took last semester. The quizzes and tests are easy if you read the book and watch the online lectures. She gives more extra credit than any professor I've ever seen. This class should not be hard if you just study. Her personality is abrasive, but I thought it was worth it for the easy A.
Took this class online last semester and enjoyed it. There is no reason why anyone should not be able to get an A. She gives out SEVERAL extra credit assignments! I would take this professor again...Highly recommended!
online course. Lots and lots of extra credit, dont need all three textbooks just study the terms and know the underlying concept. Online setup starts out as confusing but once you get used to it, good class.
I have taken her for Gov 2401 (in class) and 2402 (online) it is a lot of work but if you just keep ahead you can easily make an A! She isnt the easiest to get a hold of so dont try really but if you do she will help ... like i said its hard however. She is nice but its easy to see not everyone thinks so in person. The online class was a cake walk.

Well where do I start,I originally signed up with another Professor and somehow eneded up with this lady. The first day of class was full of reprimands and she expects us to speak and address ourselves. She also talked about how our class was a Democracy yet she was running it like a dictatorship. Remember the issue isn't with her it is with the student she has a different way of teaching than most but she will explain it to you if you ask. Take the Challenge you'll learn about yourself.

She is a tough teacher, uses her own website. you actually will leave learning something. Assignments are quizzes over her lectures that she records and you watch online. Tons of extra credit. If you want an easy A don't take her actual effort required. Recommended if you like GOVT. Used the book very little, used lectures and notes and got an A.

Professor Smith was very helpful. She was able to attain to every concern i had. If she was did not have the answer she would go out of her way to find one. I had trouble with my proctoring and she actually stayed on the phone (about 2 hours) until the issue was resolved. I would definitely recommend her class to anyone. Just follow her modules!

Wanda Smith is one weird professor. She's full of energy and loves to teach. However her methods are odd. After every week you have a quiz. It's ten questions and on extra credit question. The home work has to be done her way, she wont take it any other way. This class can be what you make of it. My advice, study, study, study!!
Professor Smith is a great professor. Her classes is simple if you watch the lectures and take notes. There is a quiz once a week that have 8-10 questions. If you listen to the lecture and take notes you'll do just fine! You don't need a book. I have met with her in person and she is super nice and helpful if you need it! I will be taking her again
Professor Smith has an absolute passion for what she teaches. She loves her students and is there for help if needed (during office hours). She gives weekly quizzes and book work that are fairly easy. Yes, she does treat you as a child at first, but just have patience. You WILL survive. I would recommend her for an easy grade.
It is possible to get an A in this class but it is not worth it. She contradicts herself constantly between what she has written on her online notes and lectures and what she says during in class lectures. Very unhelpful when it comes to preparing you for the midterm and final. I've never had a more frustrating and unhelpful professor.
Here's the thing about Prof. Smith's class. You need to do it HER way. I do NOT suggest this class if you are easily offended and aren't taking your college credits seriously. You NEED to study and you NEED to participate. Study her PP and online lectures BEFORE class and you will be fine! weekly quizes(2), no HW, study and you will get an A.

ALL LECTURES ARE BY VIDEO ONLINE. Every time we were in class it wasn't for a lecture it was for practice pop quiz questions from video. There is a quiz EVERY Saturday. This class is meant to teach yourself rather than the teacher teach you. This class was the only class I stressed about this past semester. I barely survived. BEWARE.
I am not sure how this teacher is in person, but as far as a completely online teacher goes, she is awe full. nothing but test grades, confusing grading technique, do bad on a a test or two you won't get that A. Comprehensive final, but you don't get to see what you missed on pervious tests, so you cant study them. tests 27 Q 30 min to do it. AVIOD

This is the worst teacher I have taken at SAC. She is rude, condescending, and lacks any common sense. It takes forever to get your grades at the end of the semester. She is more concerned on her study of how her teaching techniques work instead of doing her job.
Professor Smith is a great professor, she cares about you passing and encourages her office hours. Her "flipped classroom" approach is great! I enjoyed it. Pauses during her lectures when noise is being made. You earn your grade in her class.
she is not good. example. she gives you 27 question, gives you 29 min to answer, you dont see what you got right or wrong at the end and there is no retakes. second, for final she gives you a 37 question "practice final" only gives you 40 min to complete, dosnt show you your results at the end and no makeups. The actual final was 163 questions....
I took Ms. Smith's online class, and she gives quizzes every week that are 27 questions with 30 minutes. It was tough at first, but then I just started to use her power points and vocabulary while taking the quizzes. She doesn't give us the option to see what answers we missed, which sucks, even though she claims to "support our success!" Yeah no.
Took this as an online course and attended one office visit. This lady really does want you to pass and her instructions are very clear. If you dove some time each week and follow her instructions, you will have no problem passing. She really does support success of students. If you can squeeze into her class, do it!
Unless you are good at reading between the lines and interpret the question as she would read, goodluck! She is the worst teacher I have taken. Communicates with her students as if we are elementary school kids. Also her tone in emails is on the fence of offensive. If you can find someone else to take, do so!!!!
Horrible! She is knowledgeable but has absolutely no sense of how to deliver her content. The quizzes are hard, questions are always tricky. it almost seems she tries to word the questions to trick you. She provides video lecture and power point with notes, but you still have to guess some answers. She never answers to questions , unhelpful
Horrible professor. Disrespectful to students, a "my way or the highway" type of teacher who is unwilling to clarify. Intentionally humiliates people. Literal worst professor I've ever had.
Info is about summer class. In my 2nd week, I had four quizzes. For each quiz, she requires you to memorize vocab words, review a powerpoint, watch a recorded lecture, & read the chapter from the book. MINIMUM 3 hours per quiz, and I had 4 this week. So 12 hours minimum for this one class in one week.
She takes education seriously. If you do not take education seriously, avoid her. Government is not something you can skip out on. It's needed to be a good citizen. Her tests are not easy and you must know what she is talking about in order to pass. Again, I have math courses that are easier than this government course. I like that, others may not.
I had a horrible experience with this teacher. It was difficult to talk to this professor in the sense that they ranted and raved about how they were available for their students but communication was always a grill session that was uncomfortable to say the least. I've never experienced such miscommunication from a person let alone a professor.
