easy A, attendance is never checked, only 2 papers which are a page long, all presentations are on moodle. tests are only like 15 questions.. SO great.. he made me enjoy learning about music again! TAKE HIM

Dr. Kimball keeps his lectures interesting by singing and playing his piano. I stopped going to the class and still got A+s on the exams. Read the powerpoints and listen to the assigned music and you'll make an easy A. He gives a few in-class assignments (as in write 2-3 sentences of your thoughts about the lecture) but that's about it.

Dr. Kimball is a great professor and this class is an awesome choice for an easy art gen ed. Makes lectures interesting, lots of listening to music, live performances and joke-cracking. Exams are really easy. Final is basically another regular exam. Makes you do two easy 300-word papers. Assigns random in class questions. LOTS of extra credit!

Super good guy, if you have the chance to take his class, take it. It isn't hard and he is really funny. Also, its a huge grade booster

Dr. Kimball made this class really interesting. The tests are really easy as long as you review the presentations. He posts the songs on the tests before hand. He sporadically gives a question in class that's graded.

Dr. Kimball was very professional and was very easy to talk to outside of class. His lectures were well thought out and easy to access outside of class. If I were to be able to take another class with him, I definitely would.

Dr. Kimball was super nice and made lectures very entertaining. He's a cool professor and loves to introduce his students to new music. Wish I could take him again. I skipped class atleast once a week and still made an A. Be prepared to attend 2 concerts per semester (with an essay on the event).

Attendance is not taken, he gives around 5 pop quizzes, which are automatic 100s for completing them. If you show up and pay attention, you WILL make an A. He's a really funny and chill dude. Only downside is that he would have random quizzes during some of his classes on whatever he taught us that day. The quizzes were easy to pass, but it kind of made attendance necessary. Also, there's a lot of writing because he doesn't allow laptops. Pretty easy class, though, along with super easy tests.

I loved this class! Kimball was a great professor and really tried to make the material fun and connect with his students. He even sometimes brought instruments to class and played for us. TAKE HIM!!! I studied for 10 minutes before every exam and never made lower than a 96. Not only are his lectures interesting, but also, if you pay attention, you won't need to study for exams. You are required to write two 200 word "essays" on concerts you attend (easy A). He super chill and cool. I barely studied for my final and made a 100 on it.

This class should be an easy A for everyone. He picks good songs which makes lectures fun & entertaining. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does do random in-class assignments. He does review days in class before every test. If you put forth a little effort, the tests are super easy. Only complaint is I bought the textbook but didn't use it once.

Attendance isn't really mandatory but Kimball does give in class writing assignments so it is good to go. Also you have to see 2 music concerts on campus and write a report on them. His class is EASY! Just go to class and listen, take a few notes and you will ace every test. Definitely the way to go if you need an art credit.

His lectures/slides aren't posted anywhere, and he has a few random writing prompts (like 3 sentences) for a grade, but I don't think it's possible to not get an A if you go to class. Honestly, if you just go to the one class before the test, he'll go over everything you need for the free A. Take him for fine arts credit.

Despite MUS1600 being online for the summer semester, Mr. Kimball still made it interesting. His lectures and notes were very interesting as well as the content. Take this class, you won't regret it. It's also an easy A if that's something you're looking for.

Kimball is an AMAZING professor; literally the easiest class you could take. I'm in an online version but we watch a video about three songs and take a mini quiz each week. There are a few exams but very similar to the quizzes. He makes the class fun and will even pull out his guitar to sing. Also super caring and understanding!

I had Dr. Kimball right before the pandemic begun. He didn't take attendance, but lectures are important. Tests came straight from the notes. Really nice guy and the class was easy. Would love to take him again.

Understands the class is for non-music majors. He posted a lecture video every week along with a mini quiz that is only 10 questions and easy if you watch the lecture video. There are also 4 forums each unit, but you only have to do 2. Exams are the same questions as mini quizzes from that unit. There is a textbook, but its cheap if you rent it.

Professor Kimball was amazing! This man really wants his students to succeed in his class. He is truly a great professor, plus the class is extremely easy. Would recommend this professor to anyone!

Dr. Kimball is a fantastic professor! Learning about American popular music was very interesting, and Dr. Kimball's knowledge and enthusiasm make the course very engaging! I particularly loved discussing rock music, as it is my favorite music genre! As long as you watch his lecture videos and keep up with his assignments, you will do very well!

Professor Warren is the BEST! He had prerecorded lectures each week and they were fantastic! Make sure you actually watch a little bit of the lecture to get a grasp on that week's material because you will have a follow-up quiz due that week. ALSO DO YOUR FORUM POSTS! In this class, you have to write a 200-word reflection and they're easy grades!

Professor Kimball made all of his lectures super engaging and enjoyable. The grading is straight forward, and if all the work is completed correctly and you take notes on the lectures, it should be an easy and enjoyable A.

I adored this class. It was so easy and so fun. The forums are super simple and never took up more than 30 minutes of my day. I watched his lectures on 2x speed because he speaks a tad slow for me, but he was still very engaging and funny in like a dad way. Highly recommend for a GPA boost if you need a break. It made me like school again actually.

Professor Kimball is awesome. His class is all online and it's super easy. Every quiz and test can be found on Quizlet, which makes studying super easy. You have about two assignments each week, a weekly lecture quiz and a forum post, which is super easy. If you're looking for an elective course that's easy, then definitely take this class.

I LOVED THIS CLASS!!! I love music, but he made it so enjoyable and he really knows his stuff, which I think makes it even more interesting! He doesn't really give any homework and only asks that you do a weekly forum, that's it. He talks about different genres of music and where you can find them. So cool!

Warren Kimball is the shining star of LSU. I've taken both music classes he teaches, and I just wish he taught more courses. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't make an A+. Prof was funny and respectable. I attended class via Zoom or watched the recordings of the classes. You can pass easily if you study quizlets, take notes from the powerpoints, and listen to the playlist. The only time consuming assignment would be the mid-semester one and he does have weekly discussion forum posts. Not a high-stress class at all.

Weekly (easy) quizzes, discussion posts, and four exams throughout the semester. Final exam is not cumulative, just the last unit you learn.

I took him back on Zoom, which was a blessing because I hate Himes. I thought he was a fascinating professor, and his lectures were a lot of fun! He enjoys music and makes it so interesting. We learned about a ton of famous music, even TSwift. His quizzes were weekly, so don't forget to do them! The tests were comprised of his quizzes.

Each week there is a mini-quiz and discussion forum, which if you attend class the quiz is easy and the discussion forums are mostly your opinion/thoughts. Test are directly related to notes and quizzes. If you go to class and study your notes, no reason not to get an A.

I take Prof Kimball as an elective. To be honest, very disappointed that he makes us take exams in himes, but he really cares about his students. Although he does not take attendance, it is mandatory, which is annoying. He truly wants us to learn about the subject and not just be bums getting an easy A. If you try, an A will come very easy.

This my 2nd semester at LSU, and this the only class I have actually enjoyed. I did mess up by forgetting to do a weekly homework the entire semester; moreover, my exam grade is a 92 and class grade is a 72. So don't be an idiot like me...read the syllabus and the class is a clear easy A.

Probably the easiest course you'll take at LSU. Kimball gives interesting, relevant lectures, and his exams are super easy. Assignments are give-mes: a weekly forum post and quiz with unlimited attempts. Keeps it simple and enjoyable. Can't recommend him enough.

Kimball is probably one of the best professors I've had so far. He makes the class so easy and it's honestly harder to fail then pass. His lectures are engaging and makes them very brief. Only graded assignments are the responses, quizzes, and exams. His quizzes are literally the test, so again VERY hard to fail.

I can't recommend the History of Pop Music enough that the class is so fun and easy! You can tell Professor Kimball really cares about the subject and is passionate about it. My only dislike about Professor Kimball is that he was very confused about the discussion posts we had to do for class.

I studied at most like 45 minutes for all of his tests and got 100s. taking (handwritten) notes and participating really can do so much for you.

If you are looking for an elective, choose this class. I took the online version that was condensed into 7 weeks rather than the whole semester. We had a discussion, a lesson, and a quiz due every Sunday, and one fairly easy midterm project.

He is the sweetest and coolest man I have ever met. You are only graded on discussion posts, review quizzes, and exams. They are so easy as long as long as you attend class and take notes. He is so humble and engaging. Notes aren't heavy and the class is exciting. I would take him 10000 times over again. I wholeheartedly recommend him so much.

For MUS1600, there are weekly discussion forums due on Sunday but as long as you cover the prompt you get credit, then he has 4 review quizzes on Moodle and he takes the highest score so you can get 100, and then his exams are easy. Overall I would take it again. EASY GPA boosting class.

MY FAVORTIE CLASS BY FAR. Super easy material, and professor Kimball is beyond understanding. I was able to submit my midterm late for full credit. I didn't get an A+ because I forgot to submit a unit. Stay on top of homework and you will easily get an A+.

This class was actually like one of the easiest classes I took this fall semester, he was nice and understanding and class was pretty entertaining. Not a heavy work load you have weekly discussion forums and exams were easy and about the notes from class. If you're looking for an easy class to take , take this one!
