His class is enjoyable! He is funny and open to helping if you ask for it but STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! Notes are a must! He only has to grades, the midterm and final. Miss three days of class and he will fail you no matter what! Read the material and read it again! His exams are not easy. He is awesome and knows what he is talking about but is hard!

Really nice guy. VERY hard course if you're not one to do the readings this is NOT the class for you. Participation looks better and there is only a midterm and final so you better make sure you know the material or you'll fail. Don't skip class the lectures are important & do the readings!

This was honestly one of the worst classes I've taken. Dr. Perry is a wonderful, hilarious man!! ... but he is not so great of a teacher. At least not when the class is a lecture. When he's talking you can barely hear him. Would recommend to sit close up, take notes, don't bring your phone gEt distracted, ask for help, & read! TOUGH CLASS!

Dr. Perry is brilliant and hilarious, a genuinely caring guy who only asks that you open your mind (and at least skim the reading!) I got frustrated with how many chances he gives to people who don't appreciate it or even try. His classes are life-changing, open-your-eyes type of interesting, and he's genuinely committed to educating his students.

I hated this class. He's very hard to hear even from the first couple rows, and when you do hear him he's difficult to comprehend. He tries too hard to be funny and doesn't make anything clear, especially test material. Readings were long and were part of every lecture in class, also a huge part of his exams is memorizing them & the authors.

If you're looking for an easy class, do NOT take this class. If you want and A, you must earn it. I sat in the front row, participated everyday, emailed him often about questions, and I ended up with an A. You MUST do the readings though. There are only 2 tests. Go to all of extra credit events and participate often.

Perry's class was one of the worst I have ever taken. 200+ students in the class. If you don't sit in the first 5 rows, good luck hearing him. He only gives a midterm and a final and only reviews 1/4 of the material he makes u read for homework during class. I had 5 textbooks for this class and only opened 1, easily 2+ hours of reading for hmwrk

Challenging class. The large class size makes it more difficult to learn (and hear/see) during lectures. Your grade is composed of a midterm and a final so that makes it harder. He expects you to know answers in class and won't give them if you don't. Extra credit is available and is totally worth doing. Read the articles & pay attention in class!

Sucky class. Way to much reading. If you plan on being an anthropologist it may be a good class, perry seems very knowledgeable. However, do not take it to satisfy a international study credit or you will reget it. In short, do not take this class unless you have to.
