Without thinking just take this class!! He is the best in the department!!
Nice guy, good teacher, hard to understand sometimes.
Easy class but hard to hear and understand him. Get used to "EHHHHHHHH" and "point etch". Extremely helpfull and really does care about your sucess.
He is a nice guy he just can't teach very well, he seems really smart but that doesn't mean you can teach. He takes up to much time explaining pointless stuff, although if you put some effort in the class its an easy grade.
he knows his stuff, but he has trouble communicating and explaining it to the teachers. he keeps getting exmaples of hanging and guns and bombs :-S... "aloo, yeah, please do not talk"
great teacher, interested in your learning, uses practical examples. Makes the information obvious to everyday life. Took time off in the past, but glad he's back
Very nice and funny!! Take him for physics- easiest prof in the department!
very easy class. he does most of the homework problems in lecture, and really seems to care about his students learning.
Not a hard class, with some effort. Don't bother buying a notebook for this class.....never took a single thing down....makes lots of references to guns, bombs, and otherwise harming/killing people, but is quite frankly funny as hell.
He needs to stop talking about jello and start concentrating more on the class.
Goes off on wild tangents in the middle of class.
I have never taken a easier test in my life. The class is a joke. Really easy
great class, great teacher! VERY funny. Makes learning fun. Information is easy to understand when he explains it. Cares alot about his students understanding the material.
He's really smart, but it's difficult for him to teach idiot engineers like me....Would of been a much better experience if it was a smaller class. "Aloo, yeah...please be quite" Was insanely funny and "Oh...ya read da book"
Smart Man, but doesnt know how to teach. Is very friendly, and great guy, but he needs to learn how to teach. He doesn't stay on topic and always tells everyone how we need physics. LIAR!
Awful, don't take him.
He was a great professor. He really helped me to gain a better understanding and appreciation for the subject of physics. I would recommend him to anyone.
good teacher
Tests aren't bad if you study a little bit. Gives one extra credit problem per test. If you don't know anything about physics, you should read because he doesn't teach well in lecture. Kind of goes off on tangents when answering qestions. Take someone else if possible.
he talks more about current events than physics, he just babbles on and never explains anything!
He Gets you Interested in Physics. He is always smiling and really enjoys teaching.
he just horrorable last time he had a class of 250 50 passed the class thats a D and up mostly D's and C's
talks about the same thing over and over each class...doesnt go over good examples in class...never finishes examples...wont show full homework explinations
he doesnt know how to teach and he never stays on topic and when he does teach u can barely understand him
good but needs to speak clearer english
Digresses way too much and doesn't teach very well. However, he is really nice and smiles a lot, but of course that doesn't help me understand physics.
Could possibly be a good proffessor because he is very smart...But he never stays on topic, like today in class we asked him to do problem 13 from the homework and he started it got half way done and started talking about gold, who does that? if he stayed on topic it would be good but he doesnt which makes him a bad professor.
He does not teach at all, the only thing he does is go over homework, again and again and again
He can't teach at all
Very nice & smart, but cannot teach at all. He knows his physics really well & tests are not that hard; however, I definitely would not recommend him.
Worthless i thought myself that class
Has a lot of trouble staying on topic. It is very possible to get an A in this class without ever attending the lecture, aside for turning in homework. Tests are not that difficult since he models many of the questions after homework assignments. STUDY, PRACTICE PROBLEM SOLVING, repeat ad infinitum.
I absolutely LOVE Abdul-Razzaq! He makes jokes throughout class that aren't always funny, but his attempt is sure to make anyone laugh! He is very entertaining and has a cute accent (that is easily understood) His tests are very easy and all you have to do is go over the homework a few times before the exam. I highly recommend abdul-razzaq for pys
Very Easy A. Teaches pretty good.
Loved him! Entertaining in class, easy tests (questions straight from HW and practice test)... I had never taken physics and got an A!
alrite those who said hes hard...they prolly didnt go to class or do the homework, he states over and over what will be on the test, provides solutions online, not to mention the questions on the tests are identical...funny man in my eyes, I GOT AN A+
He is an awesome teacher and very, very funny. I got an A and would recommend him to anyone.
Do not take this teacher, he threatened students that asked questions he called stupid, and insulted students daily. Spends more time talking about himself than 'teaching'.
You need to go to class with this guy because he tells you things that will be on the test that isn't in the homework. It's his type of attendance policy, I guess. For those who say going over the homework is not teaching, then what is? I think he's great, and had fun. Was pretty winded, though, and got off topic a lot.
need to work on communication skill
Very easy class if you study and go to class!!
having no basis in physics I found this class extremely hard and hard to understand him.
Terrible. Does not teach. Just throws stuff on the board and talks about stealing obamas crown.
the only way you want to take this guy is if you want to sit down, memorize how to do 30 different combination's of problems, then spit it back out on an exam.
Sooo this was the worst class EVER. He expects you to memorize not only how to do every single homework problem, but also how to derive each and every formula he teaches you. ITS AWFUL! Do not, under any circumstances take this man!!!
He can be extremely rude in class (and admits flat-out he won't answer emails). He does the homework problems in class, and the tests are almost word for word from the homework. I did the homework sets around three times each and got a high A in the class without even reading the book.
As long as you do the homework problems (which he helps solve in class), go over the examples he tells you will be on exams, and review key concepts he tells you to know, this class is a breeze. He does a good job of teaching the material and relating it to everyday life. He also has a great sense of humor that makes class enjoyable. Easy class.
Not my favorite. Basically, he tested on the homework and took off a ton of points if you didn't write every step shown in the solutions. He didn't focus enough on concepts, in my opinion. If you're planning on taking the MCAT, etc...expect to do some outside work because this class alone isn't enough preparation for physics.
Extremely easy teacher. Puts homework and practice problems on test. Teaches like you're 10 years old. Don't expect him to be very helpful if you go to him for help. I went to him to see why I lost a few points on the test and he told me to go check the exam key without explaining anything. Told me to my face that I didn't understand the concepts.
I missed an exam from being severely ill and he worked with me to help my grade by not making me have to take a retake. He is very understanding and helpful. Lectures are pretty fun as well, considering he's so comical to watch. I would say overall one of the most enjoyable professors I've had yet.
HE IS THE BEST TEACHER.i took 101 and 102 with him. every exam problem is either from the class notes, the HW or one book problem which he gives 3 and only bring 1 in the exam. he goes over the HW in class, you dont have any excuse not getting an A. lab is nothing. easy A class. NOTES = EXAMS !!
Don't understand why he doesn't have a higher rating, he is an awesome professor! Definitely one of the best that I've had so far (now a junior). Would highly recommend him to anyone!
I love this professor! Such a sweet man and very knowledgable about physics! I feel like I've learned a lot in this class and his exams aren't overly difficult. I definitely reccomend him!
He is the cutest/ nicest man ever! His classs is extremely easy. As long as you go to class, he explains all of the homework questions and all of the test questions are straight from the homework and the sample tests! I would really recommend taking him! Very straightforward and not hard at all!
He is one of the most helpful professors I've had. The class is pretty easy. He pulls tests straight from the homework, so if you can do the homework you'll do well. He is very willing to work with students outside of class, and is very understanding that his students take the course generally as a major requirement. I would recommend his class.
Do the homework, you'll be fine on the individual exams. The final, however, can be a whole new ball game (so make sure you study harder for that). Overall, a very nice professor with a mandatory attendance policy. Sometimes he'll drag problems and questions out in class, but he's still a good professor to have.
One of the best science professors I've ever taken! He explains everything very well in lecture and answers any questions you have. The tests are very straightforward and if you study your homework you will do very well.
Very nice professor. Attendance is not mandatory. But lectures are very helpful in understanding the material. He talks slowly for you to understand so you must be spiked on caffeine if you want to stay awake. Exams are straightforward from the homework and lectures. Best Physics teacher I had and I had a total of 3 previously. A+
It was a confusing, bumbling mess of almost english.
Best teacher I have ever had in this university
Class moves at a really slow pace, to the point where it is difficult to pay attention. Add that to the fact that he goes on tangents and has poor english, and it makes it hard to learn from him. However He is a really easy teacher and the tests come straight from the problems he does in class.
Pretty cool guy. Class is fairly straight-forward. He does all of the exam problems in class, or an example similar to it. Just study the homework examples he does in class and you are golden. He's kinda boring at times because he drags things out, but it's worth going to class because everything you take an exam on is from in-class work.
I took Abdul for Physics 101 and 102. If you can do the homework problems, you can do the exam Problems. Do not overlook any homework problem because any is fair game. Make sure to go to lecture to get the conceptual problems (he tells you when it will be on the exam). If you work you'll get the A. Hilarious guy also. Highly recommended.
Course taken as a major pre-requisite. Difficult to understand at times. Will pass out handouts during class that are on the exams, so attendance is key. If you don't work out the problems on the exam exactly as he does in the homework, points are deducted. Essentially, memorizing how to do every homework problem is the only way to get an A.
He is the nicest man. All tests are straight homework problems, with a few problems from the practice exams he give you and a few easy conceptual problems. Also, he gives you solutions to all of the homework before it's even due. Lectures can be a little slow, but he's really thorough and tries to bring in "real-world" examples.
Very nice professor, extremely kind hearted and funny too. His exams are an exact replicate of the webassign homework, which he solves in class and posts answer for on his website online. Definitely take him for physics 101 and 102.
Abdul is a tough teacher. He gives partial credit on exams but the exams are hard. He only does examples in class, he doesn't explain way. He tends to do calculation errors in class and on the homework he assigns on webassign.
Taking him for physics was a solid choice compared to the other teachers from what I've heard. There is homework, but he gives all the answers before it is due and all exam questions come from the homework and a few from practice exams he gives out. Just memorize how to do the homework problems.
The exams are replicas of the Homework and the handouts he gives in class. But for most of the lectures, make sure to come prepared. You will need an energy drink and a coloring book. Nice guy. Would take Again.
He was my favorite professor at WVU. He made physics understandable and he was very comical in class. He is one of the nicest professors out there. I took him for both Physics 101 and 102 I would highly recommend him to anyone
Dr. Abdul-Razzaq is a blessing. The class is not difficult, but if you pay attention to his lectures you can learn a lot from his stories. He really tries to make physics relevant for non-physics majors. I would highly recommend him and would gladly take him again.
Wonderful Professor! He definitely loves his job and always has a smile on his face. He's a cute older man. There's a lot of material but his tests are honestly exactly like the homework problems he assigns. So if you study the homework, you can ace the tests. I never used my book for anything so don't bother.
Abdul's tests are challenging, but if you get have old tests, they are really good indicators for what you can see on your test.
He spends lecture time both explaining concepts but also going over problems that appear on the test. There was not a lot of homework and a majority of the problems that he does assign appear on the test so if you do the assignments you are guaranteed an A. He also gives you all of the answers to the homework BEFORE its due.
Pretty easy class, especially for Physics. He is very difficult to talk to because he is very unfriendly face to face. Grading errors on tests that are sometimes hard to get fixed, but if you can do the homework problems and write down what he says in class you should be able to get an A.
Boring lecture, old school professor. Exams are super easy, just study the old exam/hw problems and you will have your A.
He is just a little ray of sunshine, every day. Hes very funny and tells jokes that I liked. Physics doesnt really sink into my brain in a way that I can get it back out on an exam ( I practiced so hard and still blanked), or even pull it up in my brain when I try, now, but I passed and I really enjoyed his class.
Such a nice person but awful professor. He knows what hes doing, but does not know how to teach it to others. Exams are not too difficult but you need to memorize homework problems and old exams.
Nice person, average proffesor. Youll get an A if you listen to what he says, which is often hard since his class is so boring!!
Great teacher. Very easy to talk to outside of lecture but a little hard to understand because of a slight accent. All test questions are almost word for word from homework, handouts, and sample tests. If you can do all of the hw, sample test, and handout questions you're almost guaranteed an A but make sure you know the conceptual questions.
On a personal level, one of my favorite professors and a super funny guy. However, he is a disaster while teaching. He is incredibly unorganized and the lectures don't make any sense. Memorize the hw problems and you'll be fine on the exams. He replaces your lowest exam grade with your final as long as it improves your grade.
Great professor and great class! I don't like physics but I really enjoyed the way he taught the material. Since our class was mostly pre-health & forensics people he made examples when lecturing about stuff within those fields. His exams were also free response so you got partial credit even if you got the wrong numerical answer.
If you can teach yourself physics, take this class, redo the homework and get an easy A. If you can't teach yourself, don't take this class. Lectures drag on and he rarely goes over what the actual equations are in class. He often goes on long tangents about love and other random things that are not useful to learning. Tests match homework a little
Dr. Abdul-Razzaq seems nice, but is difficult to get a hold of outside of class. He hardly checks his emails and when he does he never answers your questions. He does not give any extra credit, but he does try to make his exams match the homework questions. His lectures do not coincide with the exams, though. I only learned by doing the homework.
ONLINE CLASS REVIEW: I LOVE ABDUL. He cares so much about physics and I was consistently engaged in his lectures. Exams were pretty simple as long as you can do the homework. The exam questions were the same as homework questions, just different numbers. He also posts solutions to the homework so if you get stuck you don't have to search online.
He is very nice. But no extra credit, make up, or anything like that, so if you do bad on one test you likely won't be able to make up any points. Just study the homework and practice test and watch his lecture videos and you'll probably be fine.
Abdul is a really nice professor. The material is kind of tough, but his lecture videos and homework make it fairly easy to understand. Most of your grade is based on tests, but he does do some curving. Overall, I hate physics, but he made it all a little less painful :)))).
Complains nobody comes to class when he spends class time going on random tangets about love, covid, fauci or other unrelated topics. Impossible to understand and he provides no resources. All the learning is done on your own. Don't fall for his practice test scam either the actual one will be 10x harder and longer. is awful +culturally behind too
I have been at WVU for 4 years and this dude is the worst professor I have ever had. The typical class will be him going over 1/2 of a problem because he will spend the majority of the class talking about something completely unrelated. Does not know English. Practice exams and HWs are not on exam and they are the only material. Needs fired
His lectures are poorly given and he tries to make physics puns during class and it's weird. He doesn't speak the best English and asking questions could get you ridiculed in front of the class or he will be entirely unhelpful. He gives very little assistance with exam prep and words his short answer questions poorly but thinks he's a great prof.
Can be a bit hard to understand at first and tends to walk away from the microphone while lecturing. Once you get used to his teaching, he is really funny and a great professor. Everything on the exam is covered in class or on the homework and he will hint to specific problems that will show up on exams as extra credit.
Will lose his mind if you talk during lecture, told a girl in mine that she had a "very ugly voice" bc she was talking. He will walk away from the microphone, mumble, and talk about really random things. If you don't have a good understanding of math have fun bc he won't explain how to do it. He's definitely smart but not great at teaching.
All around terrible. The class is way harder than it needs to be because he can not teach and everything is very unorganized. He should only be doing research, I have no idea why the university can not find anyone else to teach this class.
Gives homework solutions but doesn't explain anything. Exams seem like they would be easy because they're made up of mostly homework problems, but because he doesn't really explain anything it doesn't matter.
People are over exaggerating, he can be hard to understand, but tries to make class funny and simple. Lectures aren't the most helpful, but his exams are just like the practice and HW problems, and he gives the solutions. So, as long as you practice the problems and do the HW you should get an A.
Class is very boring and attendance is required which is annoying. However, the tests are very easy if you have done the homework and practice problems he gives. He often tells you when a problem he does in class will be on the exam. He posts all homework solutions which is nice when you get stuck and when it comes to reviewing for a test.
Abdul is really not good. He does not know how to use technology and does not actually teach material. He shows you how to do problems, which will then be on your homework. The exams were just homework problems, so instead of learning you memorize the problems he has already shown you.
If you know the homework problems you will do fine on the exams. The lectures are really all over the place but they powerpoints he gives out really cover everything. He has started sending out videos from when he taught the class online and those really help
A lot of these replies are not accurate. I feel like sometimes people expect to get by without studying. He basically tells you everything you need to know. Its up to you to practice it. He really tries to make students understand the concepts. His accent is not difficult to understand at all. Just pay attention to what he says.
Exams are basically all homework problems, and anything else that will be on it he goes over in class and clearly states it "might" be on the exam (which it will be), so I recommend going lectures. He also solves almost all homework problems in lecture and is very passionate about physics and teaching it.
This class is easy as long as you do the HW problems, the exams are exact HW problems or practice exam problems. In-class lectures are pointless in my opinion since I can't understand what he says. Attendance is mandatory, but if you know someone in the class they can just sign your name for you. Do well in lab it helps your grade A LOT.
Don't skip lectures! Attendance is part of your grade & he tells you which problems will be on the exam. Exams are HW problems with numbers changed. HW solutions are posted on eCampus. Write the HW problems & solutions multiple times to memorize the problem for the exam. I actually learned more than I expected from this course.
Dr. Abdul was amazing at lecturing, which made physics 102 very enjoyable. The problems on the exams are from the homework assignments that are just changed around a little bit. He does count attendance as part of your grade. With that make sure you do your homework and attend lectures for a good understanding. Dr. Abdul makes many funny jokes.
The lectures were very chaotic and hard to follow and attendance is mandatory, however homework is easy and exam questions are given to you before the exam. Easy A
If you feel you can teach physics to yourself, Abdul is the perfect prof. for you. Lectures are all over the place, hw problems are on the tests but if you don't know how to do them, there's the point. Went to him for help b/c I was failing & he wasn't helpful. Got 100s on hw's, labs, extra credit, etc but was still set to fail b/c of test grades.
Dr. Abdul makes lectures enjoyable with his personality & humor. Questions on exams are slightly different from those solved in class and on the homework. Exam Q's are solved in class. Attendance is mandatory and you will have to purchase WebAssign for access to the homework. I liked Dr. Abdul enough to schedule him next semester for Physics 102.
Abdul class is easy. Students wern't learning much but you will definitely get an A if you do what he says. He tells you exactly what questions will be on the exams. He is pretty old school, so if you need to reach him you'll have better luck going to his office hours rather than email.
I took his class by accident after my major's criteria changed. But, I'm glad I did. You can tell he truly cares about his students and physics. He is very passionate about teaching physics, which makes lectures more entertaining. He even cracks a few jokes, but you definitely won't catch all of them. So, take him if you can. P.S. it's easy as well
Loved him. He was not good at teaching and lectures were all over the place, but he provided step by step solutions to every single homework problem and exams were just homework problems with numbers changed so as long as you practice those the class is an easy A.
His lectures were somewhat hard to follow along since he didn't use his slides much and was soft-spoken, but if you understand the homework problems you will do well. He provided step by step explanations for homework problems and tells you which ones will be on the exams. Exams also had built in bonus. Looking forward to having him for 102.
Dr. Abdul-Razzaq's lectures were enjoyable to be a part of and, although some of his explanations were tough to understand, he made sure to relate everything to the real world and was a fun professor. His exams were just like the homework problems he assigned, and were very similar to the practice tests, so review those and you'll do great.
He does the homework problems for you in class and gives you a practice exam that is almost exactly like the exam. It was super easy.
Loved this professor. He makes the course very straight forward and tells you how to study in order to succeed. The homework aligns closely with each exam and provides extra credit opportunities on each exam as well. 10/10 would recommend for physics 101 and 102
I just really disliked this guy. He's very nice and means well, but his lectures could not be any worse. One of the most disorganized professors I have ever had. His lectures were all over the place and nothing seemed to connect. The only reason I didn't give a 1 is the fact that the exams and quizzes use problems directly from the homeworks.
Listen, as long as you rework the homework problems a few times, you will at least get a B on each exam. This class is so easy and Abdul makes it that way on purpose. I had him for 101 and 102, and am so glad that I did. Would 100% take him again if I had the chance.
If you have the opportunity to have Dr. Abdul-Razzaq for 101 or 102, definitely take it. His class is ridiculously easy, as his exams are essentially reskins of the homework problems and the problems completed in class. It doesn't take much effort at all to do well in his class, and he finds a way to make lectures entertaining and useful as well.
Take him if you have the chance. I had him for both 101 and 102, it was ridiculously easy. He gives you the exam to study and does the majority of the homework in class.
Take him for physics if you can! Tests were very easy as long as you study the homework and sample tests he gives out --> easy A. Homework is simple too. Had him for both 101 and 102 and got A+ in both thanks to him. Highly recommend!
Man, I love this guy so much!! He's just such a good person to talk to. If you ever need someone to talk to, he's your guy! I went to his office right after every exam. He never makes you feel stupid, and he'll go off on fun tangents. He's also the sweetest—he even gave me two points back, bumping my grade from a 99 to a 101%!
dudes notes are kind of jumbled and all over the place, but the exams were exact copies of the homework. just study the homework and you'll probably get about 95% of the exams
He is awesome, makes it clear what is expected of you on the exams. He is funny in class and likes to make jokes. He gives you all the material that is on the exams in lecture. If you are able to take him for physics do it
The best professor I've had at WVU. His exams are just the homeworks on paper, and he explains every homework question in lecture. It is pretty important that you go to lecture for this class, as it makes his class a breeze. He is also very fair with grading and gave us several bonus points on our exams, for a total of 35 in a semester.
While Professor Abdul-Razzaq often receives mixed reviews, I found him to be an incredible presence in the classroom. He is extremely funny and will often crack jokes throughout his lectures. My favorite thing about him is that he truly wants his students to achieve an A as he will often go over many exam problems and homework problems in class.
If you go to class and pay attention you're guaranteed to do well. He explains everything extremely well, one of the best professors I've had.
