His final exam is hard as crap. It's cumulative of 14 chapters with no exam review. He says that he picks T/F that he knows we won't get. He told my class to not ****him off between now and the final or he will make the exam really hard. He
I just wanted to even out the last person's rating. I'll admit that his final isn't the easiest exam I've ever taken, but there's no reason why you shouldn't pass this man. I had no problem getting an A in the class.
He explains everything really well and really knows his stuff. As long as you go to class and take notes you'll do fine.
His first words to the class: "I am not here to be your friend! I could fail every single one of you and not lose one bit of sleep over it!" He's not a bad teacher, though, but not that easy.
I think he's a great teacher. He knows what he teaching and is very organized, although sometimes he does some mistakes on the board. His tests are somewhat hard, and having a quiz every week on friday isn't really a plus.
This is by far one of the best professors at VCU. You just don't understand how good of a professor he is until you take 410. I had him for 203 and I didn't think he was bad but I wasn't all that impressed. Then I had him for 410...I'd recommend him
He covers so much material in an organized manner. He will not answer questions in class because it slows him down. I learned a lot.
TRUST ME!!HIS TEST ARE A MIND GAME, BUT YOU LEARN! HE AINT EASY BUT HE IS GOOD. I HAD ALL F'S ON THE TESTS AND ALL A'S ON THE QUIZZES. I WENT TO HIS OFFICE AND HE TOLD ME ALL YOU NEED IS A C ON THE FINAL-STUDY THE QUIZZES AND YOU WILL DO IT. I PULLED OFF A C IN THAT CLASS.
I am getting a C in this class, because (at leastI feel) that his test are quite demanding. yet for some reason, I really feel like I get this accounting stuff...he won't avoid hurting your feelings, either. He just makes sure you know your stuff.
If you're tired of profs that get off topic and don't talk about the material this guy isn't one of them. Everything is very straight forward, and as long as you do the reading and homework you'll get an A. But beware, his tests can be a little tricky.
I admit he is a pretty good professor. Tests are kinda tough. Quizzes are usually easy. You definetely have to read the book bc part of his tests are based on facts (terms, formulas) along with the suggested hw problems he goes over in class. Gives a 4-5 pt curve to your grade at the end.
Demanding class, but not terribly hard if you do the work. Tests are a bit tricky but all the easy quizes make up for that.
talks fast. needs to slow down
This professor is very tricky on his questions and is very rude. Not interested in answering questions in or out of class & goes too fast with notes. He tells you he won't ask questions on things not covered in class but that is a lie. First test questions from book only with no mention in class.
I never would have made it through both accounting courses without him, he gives great examples and his tests are straight from the notes. It's a hard subject but he makes it more bareable. I miss his pink polo's a lot!
pay attention, do the homework, and whatever he does in class must be written down. he teaches accounting in the best way, by showing you examples and problems and working them out. the book should only be used for theory and homework. other than that,
Great Prof. Very Clear and direct. Beware tests are tricky, but final isn't so bad. Boring class, but who can help that?
He is the best teacher at VCU. He is the only prof I have that actually tests on what he teaches. He is funny and there are no surprises at all on tests. He made accounting 204 my favorite class...wish I took him for 203 b/c that prof. made me hate accounting.
He's cool. Didn't give any extra credit, though. If you get an A you'll have earned it. His tests are very straightforward. Know the material, do the hw, read the book and ask any questions (you will have them more than likely) and you'll do fine. I promise.
I like him a lot. you have to work hard for the grade!
He is Bad, Hard, and very mean. Of course I am retaking and need to work hard but in my life so far he has been the worst professor. The final exam is like 17 pages and its hard and extensive. God Help all who take him. If you take him once a week it will be a hell class but if you take him 3ice a week it will be better.
Hard class. You def need to do the HW and pay attention to lectures! Does not explain material well.. and he gives the impression that he does not care about what he's doing. Gives quizzes every FRIDAY. hard to learn material and would NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Mr. Edmunds is very mean and straight forward. I didn't like the class test were not that easy. He got smart with people who asked questions. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking his class!! DO yourself a favor
He is the worst professor i have ever had. He does not use blackboard which makes it impossible to keep up with your grade. He gives quizes every friday which count for a big part of your grade. and he gives a 16 page comprehensive final which is 35 percent of your grade. I am an accounting major and this guy made me consider switching majors.
Mr. Edmunds is cold hearted teacher, whom I believe needs to retire. He doesn't give students a chance to pass his class, almost as if to say that he's out to fail the whole class. He gets smart with students who ask questions and the formats of his test are nothing like the quizzes that he gives every week. Strongly advise to not take Mr.Edmunds
He is rude & confusing, he is tired of lazy students but takes it out on every1. 1st day of class he dropped a book on the table because we were talking and announced that it Better be the LAST time he did that. Who doesnt whisper nervously the first day?? I failed all of his exams and had to drop the class. TAKE OLDES INSTEAD, I did & got a B.
He is very clear when he lectures and when he specifies 100 times about what he wants people to do and his grading is fair.
Edmunds is no cake walk but let's face it, neither is accounting. He expects a lot and tests on material not covered in class so READ the book, its the only way to pass. You can't say he isn't fair though, he drops 2 lowest quiz grades, all tests but the final are optional, and he curves the final grade by at least 7 points
Awful!!! Tests are completely different from quizzes and he NEVER goes over them. Won't answer questions and get snotty and smart if you do ask. :-( DON'T take!!!
known's his stuff. great instructor
This guy is extremely anal about absolutely everything its ridiculous. He will not change his way of doing anything to benefit his students or to become more efficient. Tests are really hard. He gives a quiz every class at the very beginning. If you arrive a minute or two late for any reason he wont let you take it. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
very good prof.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! attendance is not mandatory, but gives quizzes almost daily. Test are very hard, like 10 true/false questions and rest are fill in the blank. need to read the book to do well on the test prior to taking good notes and paying attention. after the first test, almost 30% of class drops. there are easier teachers out there!!!!
for this class, you need to listen and take good note, don't miss class because he will collect homeworks, his homeworks aren't bad, they actually help you to do on tests, and for our class Fall 2009, quizes are optional but I recommend to take the quizes bc they will help you on tests also. Make sure you need to know really well on the homeworks
I have taken Mr. Edmunds for multiple sections of accounting. He likes to rant, he is hard, but he is fair. I learned more from him than any of my "easy" professors. Since he is a real life accountant, he teaches you the real world accounting perspective.
GO TO CLASS! TAKE NOTES! RECORD LECTURES! STUDY! He may be intimidating during lecture, but altogether nice and willing to help you during office hours. There is an enormous amount of material to absorb, you need to FORCE yourself to study at least a couple hours a day to get through. You will learn tons, and be amply prepped for tax on CPA Exam
He's hard but he's pretty fair. He can be a little cranky and he is a little intimidating, but he is a good teacher overall, and fair. His class is hard because he doesn't cut corners. You need to read the book, go to every class, and study. a lot. I recommend not taking the 50 minute section if possible, it's not enough time.
Quizzes are easy, tests are hard, final was insanely ridiculous (and count 35% of you final grade), very good teacher though. He can be intimidating but answers all questions that are asked during class and gives you a generous curve (could be up to 7 or 8 pts) when semester is over. I recommend him, don't expect an easy A though....it's accounting
Not sure how He got a 3.5 but if you really are unsure of what accounting is then Don't take him.Not a bad guy but you know your in the wrong class when someone who is supposed to be teaching you claims that the subject "isn't rocket science" meaning if you don't get it it not because of me. Wouldn't take him again if I was paid.
Knows his stuff and is a great teacher although this is a crazy hard class. You absolutely need to come to every class. Quizzes every day, but they are easy and on the material from the class before. Tests are hard, but fair. You won't have a lot of surprises, but Adv. Tax is just a hard subject.
Hates answering questions, makes you feel stupid for even asking them. 1 quiz a wk with easy pop quizzes when ppl decided to walk out of class (which I prayed for every class). 3 really hard tests, T/F questions come from the book, but NEVER discuss. I wouldn't recommend.
Extremely straight foward about what is expected to succeed. However, his tests are very tough. This class will take up most of your time so don't take with other demanding classes. Gives you the option to take a quiz once a week. DO NOT opt out of them. They are easy and will help your grade and to stay on top of the material.
Best accounting professor I've had. Hard but great at teaching and making it understandable. Fair and respectful/helpful to students who put in real effort. Intolerant of those who don't and then ask stupid questions. Tough class, lots of study time. Weekly quizzes, tests are hard but not intentionally tricky. Know your stuff inside and out.
Great professor. The course is hard per se, but the explanation makes it easy. Attend every class and take notes. This stuff is numbers, so you have to be precise. The difficulty of the class prepares for better record keeping and financial management. If you have a question, do your research then ask, just show that you've done your work.
Great teacher. Covers all the difficult material in a manner that helps you understand. Is clear about what is going to be on his exams and exams are fair. Some material is in the textbook that you have to get on your own ... a very fair approach.
Attendance isn't mandatory but you should come to class and take notes. Quizzes are easy and test are somewhat hard. If you study and understand you'll be fine. His class isn't overwhelming at all. He's kinda grumpy though lol but nothing serious.
This course is pretty difficult material. My suggestions: DO NOT take with a heavy course load. This class will eat all your free time. READ and then RE-READ exam questions. Many missed questions because of one minor detail.(His true/false q's are incredibly ambiguous) Most of my understanding came from studying the Homework answers. GOOD LUCK!
Awful teacher. Incredibly unhelpful. Every Friday there is a quiz with 2-3 questions on it. The questions are very tricky. He drops your two lowest quiz grades at the end of the semester but that honestly doesn't help much. He is very rude to anyone who asks questions during class. DO NOT TAKE HIM. Tests&quizzes are hard.
I don't even understand how this professor got good ratings. Yes he is straight forward and tells you what to expect in his class but he is such a BAD teacher! Doesn't use any power points or notes in class nor does he use blackboard. He just speaks the whole class which is very hard to concentrate because his voice is so monotone and BORING.
Horrible teacher! Every friday there is a quiz, they are not so bad. Exams are extremely hard nothing compared to the homework. He does not help at all! Does not respond to emails, or answer questions.
To be blunt, this class was a nightmare. The professor simply can not teach. I currently have wonderful grades all except for this class. Stay far away from this professor if you plan on passing!
This professor was not helpful at all. I was absent one day for class, asked when our next exam would be and he literally screamed in my face. His quizzes/tests are extremely difficult, and we only had one graded homework assignment this semester.
This Class was heinous, he spends half his time talking about how everyone fails or trying to figure out what he was just talking about. The Tests he gives are almost fully trivia with very few questions that actually test your knowledge of the subject and the rest are stupid definitions and tricks. I would never take another class with this guy.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Professor Edmunds constantly talks about how he fails the least amount of people in the department. HE is rude, snarky, and a terrible teacher.
He may be rude at times but the class was not so bad. You have a quiz every friday (3-5 question pretty easy) and you get to drop 2 of your lowest quiz grades. The test is pretty difficult but go over the quiz, READ the book, do the assignments(activities/exercise) it WILL be helpful for the T/F questions on the test.
He was okay at explaining the material he was teaching, his tests were very difficult, and he didn't allow you to take your tests to study off of, you could only see it in his office. Attendence wasn't mandatory, but the material is important bc his quizzes every week are based off of it. Get the book. One hw assignment graded ever. Hard hard class
good teacher, knows his stuff, take the quiz skip election! would be beneficial to type up exactly what comes out of his mouth during elections since the majority of questions relate to class lectures. Book has WAY more detail than needed. Do class exampleshw assignments a bunch for test prep and you'll be golden
Tough tough tough class. Prof doesn't make it any easier, in fact, makes a tough subject even harder. Tests are full of tricks. Brags about failing students. Very arrogant and spiteful too. Not a nice person.
If you want to expand your accounting knowledge take this class. Maybe the best professor I've had in my life. But no it's not easy and this final I'm studying for is taking me days to study. Oh also, you will be frightened to ask a question in class. And yes you need the text book. Also, opt out of taking quizes you'll thank me later.
Edmunds is like your stern granpa teaching you taxes. He's proficient at getting his point across, just be sure to have that laptop/journal ready; he has no powerpoints just lectures and draws on board. He will also test your reading comprehension, so READ(!!) questions carefully. Very Tough class, but I learned more from him than in ACCT405.
Great professor! Edmunds sounds strict and angry, but that's just his style. helps to go to his office hours, and he'll tell you why you failed his exam. Take good lecture notes, Edmunds has no powerpoint slides. Also do practice exam problems. AND do not accept the offers of skipping quizzes/tests!! You need every point that you can get!
Old school professor here! He doesn't bore you to death with PowerPoints like every other professor at VCU. He actually teaches! Imagine that! You will have to study. You will read. But when you finish this class you'll be so well versed in the IRC that you may as well be a CPA already! This guy is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Take him!!
Honestly one of the best professors I have ever taken! This class is difficult. With that being said, I don't think there is anyone more qualified to take you into the netherworld which is the Internal Revenue Code. You will read until your eyes give up. You will curse the day you were born. But you will be educated and you will feel accomplished!
Difficult class. Edmunds uses no Powerpoint slides so have that notepad/laptop ready to jot down notes because Edmunds will spit helpful exam info at you and draw examples on his whiteboard. Exams are tough. Edmunds will test your reading skills. But the tips he gives for the CPA exam is helpful and he helps 1on1 during office hours.
Edmunds might be my favorite professor I've had at VCU. His classes are long and tough to comprehend at times, but he does his best to make you learn. He stresses important things and curves your final based on the type of student you are. He is a great guy and is a times pretty funny. Definitely take him.
Since ACCT 405 is a required class for Accounting Majors, take Edmunds. As others have stated, he does not use powerpoint, but will use the whiteboard to enhance or clarify his lecture. Read the chapter before coming to class. A lot of tax code is memorization but Edmunds will explain what it means and why. I am definitely taking 410 with Edmunds.
Professor Edmunds is probably the best professor at VCU. His teaching style is exceptional, and his tests and quizzes are exactly word for word what he said in class. I received a 42.2 on the first test and I ended up getting a C in the class. He notices if you put in the effort, the VCU accounting program needs more dedicated teachers like him.
I'm studying for the REG section of the CPA exam right now, and I can't imagine taking this test without having had Edmunds for tax. He's a tough professor but you will learn a lot, and he's an entertaining lecturer. I took both 405 and 410 with him, and they were by far my favorite accounting classes at VCU.
Terrible professor. Talks all the time about how his students are gonna fail and does nothing to help students study other than to "read the textbook"
Edmunds isn't for everyone. He is one of my favorite professors at VCU, but read the text before coming to class. T/F and multiple choice test format. T/F is taken from close reading of the text & multiple choice is heavily weighted & taken from concepts learned in class. Went a little too fast near the end, but he takes his time in the beginning
unfortunately not on his words. Said gonna make curves. Total bs. Got 2 As in 1st and 2nd test but the final which is cumulative. I didn't do that well and that screwed me over so. There is NO STUDY GUIDE, NO PRACTICE question in class, NO HWs so you see where you miss up. EVERY DAY QUIZ.
One of the best profs of my college career. I find his lectures incredibly easy to understand and thorough. For this class, he had plenty of h/w and provided us with the solutions. Spells out what the exams go over. I mostly studied my notes and did well. One of the few professors who actually seems to like his students, personable and humble imo.
His class is pretty simple and easy to pass as long as your do your work. He uses an online free textbook, and expects you to read it. I find the textbook easy to read, and easy to understand. People leaving reviews about how terrible he is probably aren't reading the book. The class is simple and I like the set-up of the tests.
Professor Edmunds was once a good professor years ago, but lately has been out of touch with students, unclear grading and makes many errors grading exams (they are not Scantron) resulting in you having a lower grade, when really you got a higher one, if you wanna ruin your GPA or pass with a D go ahead and take his class
If you don't have to take his class, DONT! Grumpy man that makes this class harder than it should. Withdrew from the class and I have never done that before.
Professor Edmunds is Awesome! he is funny and sarcastic in class. Doing well in his class is not hard. I took him over the summer and struggled because it was a tough subject at an advanced pace. Read the textbook and ask questions. He doesn't mind repeating himself 10 times, as long as you understand it. Great Professor, definitely would take him!
He is very cynical and does nothing but complain about his students. I suppose he does a decent job teaching the material but when students don't understand he gets upset and frustrated. I never wanted to go to class because he was very depressing and a drag... just a unhappy old man. He cares in the form of complaints. Try a different professor.
If you take this class you will definitly get a D. Edmunds is a terrible teacher who should just retire already. His lectures are incredibly difficult to follow, and he doesn't use any material to supplement his lecturing. The tests are made very tricky, and the way the questions are weighted on the exam pretty much guarentees you will fail.
Professor Edmunds is great outside the classroom, but as a professor he is awful. I took 203&204 with him and got a D both times despite putting in all my efforts. If you ask questions in class he gets mad or upset. Also he does not even clearly state what you need to know. No material, no lecture notes, no use of the board. Truly an awful class.
It's pretty hard to earn an A in his class. I would recommend taking someone else if you are looking for an A or B. He doesn't provide any materials for the course and just lectures from his own notes. There is no ppt, hw, or notes he provides or uses. You have to take your own notes and exams are weighted too heavily on a single question
The reason I'm going into taxhad him for 405 and 410. His lectures are very clear and easy to follow, colored with anecdotes from his 40+ years of experience; he explains everything far better than the textbook ever could (but still read the book). The material is difficult by nature, but I don't think anyone could teach it better than Edmunds.
It's his profession, but he can't teach it at all. Any learning I've done is from the online textbook he uses, which still isn't really that helpful. No extra credit for anything. Does pop quizzes and homework checks randomly as an attendance check, if you try, you get 100% which really boosts your grade.
The absolute worst teacher I've ever had. All he does is stand in front of the board and talk while going on tangent after tangent. He does not teach, you must teach yourself using the free online textbook which does not really help for his exams. I went from having straight As last semester to having all As this semester and a D in his class.
Amazing Professor. Pay attention in class, take detailed notes, do the homework, and arrive on time. If you listen in class, you will do well.
Please if you care about your grades and your money please AVOID this professor at all costs. He does not provide notes, slides, or any help what so ever. He does provide a free online textbook in which he expects you to everything there. On top of that he does not use the same definitions as the textbook during class and this will confuse you.
tax acc: hes absolutely terrible. i have never hated a class so much in my life. all he does is say read the textbook and gets mad when you ask any simple question... acting like its common sense when its not because its all about specifics of every tax
Where do I begin... not going to bash the man just have a few words to put out there. Mind you accounting is not the easiest but his teaching makes it twice as hard to understand. You rely on him solely, he is your notes. There are no further notes than what he puts on the board and says out his mouth so you better be listening and present.
This class is the hardest I've taken at VCU. The material is complex, prepare to do a few hours of reading/studying outside of class every week, and before each test. Final grades are calculated as follows: 3x test (16% each), quiz average (16%), "classwork" (4%), final exam (32%).
Professor Edmund's is a great professor. He is passionate about what he does and loves teaching people his passion! The material is very challenging and his teaching style is vague but if you keep notes of what he says you'll pass the class. He curves grade so that if you put in the effort, you will pass.
Pop quizzes where he throws you an easy lob. Its good if you read the book before a lecture.
Bad teacher lectures don't help, rambles on about random stuff and blames the class for bad grades
felt the need to warn you all. do not take this professor!! does not lecture well, and lecture notes do not help. Does not explain homework questions, merely gives you the answers with no explanation. nice guy but not a good professor at all. class average on the first test was a 55.5%...
Edmunds flies through material, goes off on tangents, and doesn't like when students ask questions -- you need to read the textbook to learn. Test are HARD and you will need to study/re-read chapters. During covid, class is online; use tools like excel for formulas/calculations along with your notes and know where to find topics in the textbook.
He SUCKS. Do not take this professor, accounting is already hard but he makes it 100% worse. He goes off book, his lectures aren't helpful bc he goes off on tangents. Doesn't explain practice problems just gives answers. Blames class for bad grades even though the class average every test is around a D. Does not allow you to ask questions real time
This class was awful. Accounting is definitely not the easiest or most interesting, and he did not make it any better. Lectures were not engaging and he did not provide notes; only talked and ranted. Also, don't expect to be able to ask questions because he becomes infuriated. Consistently got F's on the test's. All around sucked.
He's kind of rude lmao. He doesn't believe in the phrase "there are no stupid questions". He takes attendance in class but honestly, other than a few hints about what we should study, you don't really have to pay attention; I just heavily reviewed the textbook and managed an A. Be prepared to do a lot of reading.
He's rude and doesn't answer questions if he thinks it's "stupid". Never shows his work, he just talks and goes on tangents for basically the whole class. When he goes over exercises it's not helpful cuz he's just reading off the textbook. He talks so much without really saying much. He's just super confusing and unorganized. The worst professor.
The whole class could get an F on a quiz and he'll blame us for it. We asked him to show his work on the white board so we could keep up and he said no. If you're a visual learner, good luck bc he just talks.
Professor Edmunds is very knowledgeable on tax and gives good examples in class that are important to understanding the content and doing well on the test. His lectures are long so it is important to do whatever it takes to stay focused.
I have never rated a professor before but HE IS THE WORST! You have a quiz every class and 4 tests the entire semester and it is all based on him talking for so long, no powerpoint NOTHING! He is so boring and he does not give you a chance to improve your grade. I would not suggest him but he is the only professor for that specific class. GOOD LUCK
Gives great lecture notes to follow. Read them thoroughly along with the chapters, and you'll have no issues with earning a good grade. Pop quizzes once a week - but if you read the material beforehand, you're good to go. Personality is dry, old-school humor. You'll get out what you put into the class. Fair and overall a great Professor!
He clearly knows what he is talking about but is extremely inept when it comes to teaching it. He should not be teaching undergrad at all. His take-home tests take 6+ hours (he will tell you they take 5-6 this long too). The majority of our class failed and he continuously blames the students for his failures as a teaching professional.
DO NOT TAKE HIM. Most of our class failed & he constantly blames the students. He accused us of being lazy when the entire class got the same questions wrong. He warned us that he has to curve most classes by 25 points just to make sure at least half pass & even that doesn't help Clearly knowledgeable on the material but atrocious as a professor.
Literally worst teacher ever. He acts like we don't read the chapter even though we do and blames us when the entire class fails because HE NEVER TEACHES IT IN CLASS. Be prepared to learn stuff on your own. He encourages people to ask questions, then is so condescending when he's "already explained it" or "we should know it".
Went into this class terrified, but was pleasantly surprised. If you attend class (or even if not as exams are open book & take home), you will do well--and he curves VERY graciously. Can come off as harsh, but not like the reviews. He just has a dry sense of humor & wants you to understand the material. Very experienced in tax. Favorite professor.
The worst ever
Mandatory but awful. Not comfortable with technology.
I didn't like his teaching style. He didn't have PowerPoint. Make sure to read the textbook because his exam is based on the book. It was annoying when he kept repeating the instruction about the exams over and over again. Thank god he curves a lot by the end of the semester.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! All of the comments on this that were red were true! He does not know how to use technology at all. He also doesn't care who fails and who doesn't. If you email him about something he will be sure to call you out during class. STAY AWAY!!!
This is the worst professor at VCU. He only gives three test and a final exam that take you six plus hours to complete that don't follow his four hour lecture videos, useless notes, or even the IRS publications. If you ask for help he will simply tell you to read the questions more thoroughly. I have no idea how he is still employed.
Test are crazy hard, all application type questions - some of which we may or may not discuss in class! Would not have time to go over tests so student's never really know if/why they got a question wrong 3 tests and a final which is 92% of our grade - tests take 5-6 hours and usually are given Friday and due Sunday - whole weekend shot!
Would be an easy class if his tests weren't so hard. He worded questions weirdly on his tests, but thankfully they were all take-home or open-book. His lectures are boring, but are helpful if he doesn't go on a random tangent. Attendance is very important as he likes to give easy pop quizzes that are hard to not get a 100 on.
The course content, the teacher, and his instructional methods were very good. However, the teacher could improve the experience by utilizing the ebook more, as covering 40-page chapters in just two days made it difficult to absorb all the material.
So difficult, except for the tax return assignment at the end of the semester. His class consists of confusing tests (4 total), the mentioned tax return assignment and lectures that go extremely off topic. The positive is that he curves very, very, very graciously! Beware though... he is the only professor who teaches taxation accounting...
Professor Edmunds can be a challenging instructor, but if you stay diligent with the textbook and utilize helpful study tools like unstuck ai, you can succeed in his class. Attendance is a must, and be prepared for rigorous exams. Overall, it's a demanding course, but manageable with the right approach.
Not a bad guy, but he teaches very old-fashioned. Doesn't upload anything to Canvas, so you'll have to take a lot of notes. Avoid him if you're not an accounting major because you will be completely lost. You're also graded on very few things, just the 3 exams and a few pop quizzes.
This professor is probably one of the worst teachers i have ever encountered in my 14 years of school. He does not care about students and he is not trying to help you. This is a class fully based on your work and the time you take on your own to study. He's not tech savy so everything he gives is 10x more difficult than it should be. HORRIBLE!
All the reviews about this guy are true. He spends half the class debating with students about whether to give out paper tests or on canvas. He is condescending towards students when they ask questions or approach him after class. The only reason I think I'll be successful with this class is because I already took accounting at community college
He is a hardass but the quizzes are T/F at most 5 questions, his tests are open note open book and if he likes your class and follow his very specific instructions on how he receives the test then every test will be take home. he also at least drops the lowest quiz grade at the end of semester
Not the best at explaining topics and it feels like he would start topics in the middle without going over prerequisite topics required to understand the topic. I'm convinced I would have learned more reading the entire IRS publication front to back than listening to his lectures. Wouldn't recommend, not a good lecturer.
