Genuinely nice guy who is passionate about his teaching. He wants everyone to do well in his class and is very approachable. Show up for class, do the homework and study for quizzes and you'll get an A. I recommend him.

Bio isn't my favorite class, but Forbes made it interesting for me. He often helped me during his office hours. A quiz generally every week or so. I've heard he's the easiest Biology professor. He's very energetic, very passionate about what he does, one of my favorite profs!

this class was really hard, but dr. forbes is a really nice man. if you visit him during his office hours, he will give you as much help as you need. if you are willing to put in some time/are interested in having a challenging bio class, this one is for you. if not, look for another professor.

Dr. Forbes is an awesome professor. He is very nice and has a sense of humor. Take him because he will do anything for you.

Excellent professor. Very dedicated to teaching and actually made class interesting. If I can sit through a bio class @ 8 AM that is actually interesting, THAT'S a good professor. I kinda slacked on going to class and ended up with an A when I thought I would get no better than a B. TAKE HIM!

this professor is very helpful, he tries his best to make u understand. He knows his stuff and he is really not very difficult. You just have to study the notes on the I drive and u'll do fine.

he is a really nice guy and kinda goofy at times, he gives study guides and tests heavly from them. i would reccommend him to others.

forbes is such a great teacher! yeah he's jamacian and hard to understand at times but he knows how to get the information across to you. very helpful and nice when you dont understand some things. one of the best science teachers ive had and im a biology major... take him even if you dont like bio his study guides help ALOT for the exams

Very good prof.-Several quizes but only 4 big tests. Not to hard if you pay attention and study a little. Good grade without trying to hard.

Dr. Forbes in one of the best professors i've ever had! He is extremely helpful and very good at explaining everything! Also gives a great study guide before tests so you pretty much know exactly how its going to be. Tests are a bit challenging but really not that bad! I hated Bio but he made it okay and i actually feel like i've learned a lot!

Goes WAY too in to detail for an intro class if you ask me, but he always answers questions, is incredibly patient with us (at 8am, none the less!), and if you work really hard and don't skip assignments, you'll pass. (I'm average at science and pushing an 81%, even though I hardly study.) AND he's a silly Jamaican man! What more could you want?

I loved him! He's class was always fun. I am very bad at bio but he made it so it was still easy to pass. Although attendance is not madatory it helps if you go he will give 5 point group papers that will boost your grade. He is very helpful and you can tell he really loves his job! I would deff take his class again!

Wonderful teacher who cares a lot about his students. Tests are SOOO EASY if you go over exactly what is on the study guide. Have to attened every class because he may give a 5pt activity, easy quizes to. I accually enjoyed studying for his class. I didn't like Biology at all and after his class I really enjoy it. Forbes is a great teacher. As long as you study and take notes you will do fine. He is more than willing to help you if you need it. Take him for Gen Bio.

I read these comments before taking the class and they were decieving. I currently have an 83% and I actually study. The class is NOT a blow-off, you WILL need to study!!!

WAY WAY WAY too much material on each test. This is not an easy class. I study hard and have a B-.

I had him for 8am Bio. Lets think about that...I didn't do as hot as i wanted. His class is pretty easy thouhg. He e takes attendance and sometimes gives group assignments that you cannot make up. His test are average. His power points go right along with the book.

Dr. Forbes is a nice guy with a pretty cool accent. If you study for the tests theres no reason you should get less than a B. He also gives you in and out of class assignments to help boost your grade. Overall, I would definately recommand him for this class.

Dr. Forbes is the most amazing prof. this school has ever known. He is extremely helpful if you just ask. His tests are right from the study guide so fill those out. Coming to class help so much more, but you still HAVE to study if you want a B or higher. He is also very approachable.

Forbes is a great guy. He's always real sweet and will help you with anything. His class is decent. I took it again to get a better grade and just be sure to study the power points like crazy and make sure you know the study guide! EXCELLENT PROFESSOR

Dr. Forbes is an awesome professor. His lectures aren't boring, and he is very helpful. The class is not a blow off class though, you have to study hard to do well! There's 4 tests, a cumulative final, a few quizzes, and some group work (which is easy).

Don't listen to the comments that say that this man is anything but a smily! He is such a nice professor and he's very liniant when it comes to grading! If someone said this class was hard, they obviously didn't really put too much effort into this class. Definitely take this professor!!!! You'll be glad you did!

This class is probably the easiest class i've ever taken. You do not have to go. Just read the book and do the study guides and you'll have an A.

His lectures can be a bit boring, but the man knows what he is talking about and will help anyone who needs it. Keep in mind that this IS a biology class so of course it is going to be hard for some people. Don't be like some people from my class and ignore a giant list of terms he gives you before the first test then complain about it afterwards.

Dr. Forbes is one of those professors that loves what he teaches. He comes to class every day excited, and that makes a huge difference. The material is easy to understand, but there's a LOT of info to know, so you have to go to class and keep up with the work. Barely any homework.

For being a level 100 class it is way too hard. He doesn't realize that we are NOT biology majors. He makes the tests too hard. He does warn you in advance for quizzes and gives you plenty of in-class activities. Go to class. Pay attention. Study very very hard....get a tutor.

Dr. Forbes is great. I had him for general and principles of bio. General bio was easy and fun. Principles was a little harder. If you come to class and show him that you're making an effort he will do anything to help you. I have never had a more passionate and dedicated teacher. You definitely have to study though, exams are long and hard.

Easy if you are interested in bio, tests are str8 from lectures, gives extra credit on every test and quiz. If you are taking this to fill a block or arn't interested in bio, don't take it, you'll hate your life. It's a lot of information. Take intro to chem or something

Took this class over presession, one of the best academic decisions I've ever made. Any type of science is difficult but Dr.Forbes makes it worth it. He will do ANYTHING to help ANY student, and you can tell he really cares about his students. No need to buy the book either- powerpoint slides are straight from the textbook!

This was the most helpful professor I've ever had. He takes attendance, but doesn't count it against your grade. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask him. Dr. Forbes is an extremely passionate Biologist. He really cares about his students and becomes upset when he sees his students aren't doing so well. He really implores setting up individual one on one time to help students. He is overall the most genuine teacher I've ever had. He takes the time to teach affectively so bio majors take Dr. Forbes!

Dr. Forbes is a fantastic teacher. I had him for Principals last semester and actually enjoyed having him as my teacher.He takes the time to get to know your name. If I ever had a question or just did not look like I was having a good day, he made sure to ask me and check up on me regularly. He made me realize how much I love biology.

Dr. Forbes is a great guy! Participation is mandatory. He writes everything you need to know on the board and is very thorough on the material. He emails you about quizzes and tests. Very understanding about missing a class. 3 exams, 60 questions, and a quiz after every chapter, 15 questions plus 2 bonus. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK, NEVER USED IT!

I did notice he can explain things kinda wierd but I think he will be one of my favorite professors for a long time. ANAZING teacher and person in general.

At the beginning of the year, you are going to think that you have it in the bag, but if you're not on the ball all the time it will be rough. The tests are extremely detailed, you need to know EVERYTHING. I wish I could dislike him since I did not do as well as I had hoped in his class but he is an amazing, caring, and extremely personable man.

Dr. Forbes is an incredibly kind, cheerful, and helpful professor who is truly passionate about his area of expertise (parasitology). He was a fairly new professor when I had him for an elective. The stories he told were so enthralling - I now tell these same stories to my own high school students. I enjoyed his lab.... microscopes, eggs, worms.

Dr. Forbes in 2005 for Biology Lab. I did awful on quizzes and one day he asked me to stay after class. He challenged me to study for next weeks quiz. I studied for it and got a perfect score. He then kept me after class again and told me how proud he was of me. If not for him I wouldn't have graduated from SRU. Graduated with honors in 2007.

Dr. Forbes is honestly one of the sweetest professors you could ever have. You can tell just by listening to him how much he wants you to succeed in his class.
