makes you feel stupid, very scarcastic, not helpful at all
Show up and take notes and you'll pass, quizzes were difficult but tests easy
He is very hard and he doesn't explain things well
doesnt write anything down, hard quizzes
Didnt read anything, plato, machiavelli, dante, still got a C, i was happy
Do the EC, it helps a lot, talks fast, hard quizzes, study for tests!

I should advise you to use a tape recorder. lectures past time allowed
really difficult quizes but tests are fairly easy! Just attend lectures!
Good teacher but kind of boring, attend class, do the extra credit

Definitely knows his material! Interesting discussions & lectures. A+ Profess!
boring boring boring, thinks he's god's gift to hist. teachers. isn't.
a lot of memorization, but an easy A, do extra credit!

Hard class. Lots of reading, lots of small quizzes. Do the extra credits!
he memorizes lectures, speaks too fast w/out details, ASK Q's, very boring, HARD
very hard teacher, but if you go over the study guides, you should do well
BE READY TO PAY ATTENTION, INTENSE CLASS, LOTS TO UNDERSTAND AND REMEBER
His quick wit and sarcasm make this class an interesting one. Be prepared!!!
Quizzes were hard but he gives out midterm questions before exam. Easy A.
USE THE STUDENT HANDBOOK!!!! And tests will be a breeze
horrible, horrible teacher, unclear rambling lectures, weird weird guy;
He is boring, but gives outline notes and extra credit, pretty fair
Easy A, teacher is not clear, but the tests are REALLY easy.
He is a good teacher, he knows the Material very well. He is a little boreing but if you study the study guides the test are pretty easy
Come to each class for lectures and take good notes. Your notes and outline for the class should be enough for you to get a good grade.
an awesome teacher. crazy guy that keeps you awake. class is a breeze. makes everything very clear
Very eccentric and it takes a while to get used to his lecture style. Take decent notes and use the study guide. Easy A, extremely easy B.

Painfully boring class. Is easy but, his lecture style is so annoying.
hilarious! really really is. make sure to use the lecture notes, they will save your life. make sure to do an extra credit, itll really help out too.
This class was so interesting. I love the jokes, and his lecture style is tough.. so be prepared. Easy A, didnt even need extra credit. Make sure you go to class.
easy class, has a guide for the lectures, kind of boaring but very easy, offers EC that can raise your grade alot.
Incredibly boring, cheesy humor, confusing analogies, pop quizzes on reading material. BUT tests are easy.Go to class...get an A!
EASY CLASS, ONLY THREE TEST THAT ARE BASED ALL ON LECTURES, ALSO EXTRA CREDIT, A LITTLE BOARING BUT ITS AN EASY A.
Really easy class. No reading involved, but you do have to go to class and take notes on the lectures
What a hottie! Just come to class.
Hated every second of the class. Even the second time I took it.
Easy class as long as you go. Very little homework. Just go to class and you're fine.
Okay you guys, you have to take this class. It is so easy and he is so interesting. He gives you these study guides that ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE TESTS. An extra 15% for a stupid essay too. Just go to class and youll get an A.
Avoid this teacher! He is extremely difficult to understand. Very boring! Tests relatively easy however he gives confusing weekly reading quizzes. This guy is a real jerk who thinks he's funny!
I thought this class was a breeze. He makes it almost impossible to get lower than a C. Just go to every class and you will be money. Tests are easy, just make sure you do the reading. Very helpful too. Great guy.
Super nice and sweet guy. Easy class just study notes and read for quizzes and you should get an A plus he gives extra credit!
I slept through every class and I have an A. Extra Credit for going to class, tests are very similar to the study guide. The only book worth reading is the last assigned because that ones on the final...
easy as hell, funny man. test are really easy. you dont have to read the books.
Very personable, very funny guy. You'll get an easy "A" if you do the 15% Extra Credit.
I took the 2 hour and 40 minute class - so the lectures were a bit much. Guthrie is a great teacher and makes a lot of the history relate to the present.
He knows that no one wants to take this class so he makes it bearable by giving sample tests that are almost identical to the real ones. The readings are long and hard but if you do most of them and go to most classes you'll probably get a good grade.
tests arent bad, reading is boring, class is boring, take class noted and you will be fine
EASY!!! his tests come right from his lecture notes and he is funny and easy to follow. take him if u really dont like history and u wanna good grade. smart man
Challenging class; ectures can be really boring, but they are at least easy to follow with the notes packet. Weekly reading quizzes are easy if you actually read, tests are semi-hard, depending on how much you study; KNOW THE TERMS FROM THE WORD LIST!
Boring class, boring readings. Study the sample test and try to get last semester's test from someone if possible.
****hrie is the awesomest instructor I have had at this school. He teahces in a way that makes one remember the histroy he goes over. I absolutely loved him and would recommend him to anyone. Plus, if you go to class, it is super easy.
go to class!! even if lecture is boring. take good notes b/c there is NO TEXTBOOK. tests are somewhat easy and do the reading for the quizzes and you'll pull of an easy B.
Easy class if you do the readings and memorize practice exams. Lectures though are boring
his lecture style is really confusing. dont miss class, there is no text book. outside readings are really boring, but the quizes are pretty easy. 3 tests are hard, but with practice test you can memorize terms. do the extra credit essay.

below comments are NUTS! easy prof who makes a BORING subject VERY INTERESTING!3 easy tests (which are almost identical to sample test), extra credit, lec notes are exactly whats on the test-just memorize or pay attn in class. got an A.id take him again!
He has a huge ego,and his lectures are boring and confusing.Just memorize his packet of notes, and practice exam, and quizzes and you will get an A. His tests are straightforward and easy if you know the material.Plus attendence is 100 pts extra credit. :)
Funny guy that makes his lectures interesting. If you pay attention, you'll see him do all kinds of funny mannerisms(such as inspect his fingernails) while he's lecturing. Tests can be difficult but he freakin gives you the notes to study from!
He makes boreing lectures interesing. Tests are very straightforward. Study what he gives you and you are fine. Memorize that packet he gives out.
taken him twice. love him - wish he taught more classes. classes are interesting. participate - he really likes that. tests are easiest things known to man. best teacher i've had at this school.
Great guy, very approachable. Funny in class, too!
He actually makes a boring subject like history interesting! No book -- just study his notes. He and French professor Erwin Wilson are the funniest instructors I ever had at SDSU!
Amazing teacher, I loved his 105 class so much that I took him again for 106.
he is a great teacher. he is so funny. his class is not hard at all. just show up, and study "his already typed" notes and you r good. I would take him again.
THE EASIEST CLASS EVER, IF YOU DO NOT GET AN A YOU SHOULD JUST DROP OUT OF SCHOOL!!!!!
He is an excellent teacher. Excellent guy and he's always willing to help. His lectures are appealing. He's humorous.
HE IS SOOO BORING, it is almost unbearable to sit in his lectures, esp. the once a week. BUT, class is sooooo easy!! he gives you 100 extra credit points ust for coming to class, which is neccesary becuz otherwise its unbearable to go. easy A but you have to deal with boredom and an irritating prof.
Easy history class, lots of opportunities for extra credit. Tests are easy if you do the practice test.
this teacher makes simple sentences soooo extremely complex that you cant understand him. i f***ing hate this class!!!
Very good teacher, he knows his stuff.Tests are very easy if you go to class and study the practice exam. If you don't get an A you are a dumb ass and I feel sorry for your parents who are wasting money on your tuition.
BORING LECTURE.his jokes are rehersed and most of the time, unfuny.i still respect him tho bec he's nice n he will answer ur questions but wid sarcasm.his tests are ez n he givs xtra credit for atending his snorefest lecture.he assigns alot of reading is a short period of time n he quizes u on dem.
good teacher. gives you extra credit for going to class. easy tests, i liked him
Good teacher. Just make sure you review all the notes before the test, it really helps. He talks kind of fast so pay attention.
lectures tend to be boring, but overall it was an easy class. just review your notes & show up to class because it counts as extra credit.
Yup, don't take the once a week lecture. He's knowledgable, but doesn't teach very clearly. I'm a visual learner, he's not a visual teacher. All you do in his class is listen. Tests are not hard, and the extra credit is nice.
dr. guthrie is a super nice guy, somewhat funny, intelligent, but his class...is the most...boring thing in the world. i only had it for 50 minutes but i dreaded all 50 minutes. its an easy A/B so take it if u want a good grade, but if u want to take an interesting class, well, dont take history 106 with guthrie.
Took Dr. Guthrie for 2 classes, Really nice guy, Great teacher, gives easy tests and has a note packet you can buy, which makes his very long lectures easier to follow. TAKE HIS CLASS! But Make sure you are there everyday, he doesn't test out of the book in HIST 100 and HIST 101, it is all lecture.
This class is bad news. it is soooo hard to follow where he is going in his lectures. The tests are impossible and the study guides suck. There is no text book and he just goes off of lecture and you don't understand the lecture....stay away!!!
You can tell Guthrie is one of those teachers with TONS of knowledge in his head. You can buy an outline to all of his lectures and he sticks by them exactly which is really helpful. He also gives you sample midterms (and the answers) which are almost identical to the real tests. He also gives you 100 pts extra credit just for showing up to class!
I think of him as a grandpa who tells u those long history stories. Sometimes it interesting and some time u doze off. Mainly lectures, tests are easy, quizzes are kinda tough over all an easy A.
Not a bad guy really. Lecture format, primary source reading, no real text, relatively easy tests and sometimes annoying quiz questions. Considering the time given and amount of material to cover, presents it pretty well and makes it as interesting as twenty to thirty popes in four weeks can be.
Guthrie made history about as entertaining as it can get. Study the practice exams and KNOW the terms on the list. Show up everyday (100 pts extra credit)and an A is easy. Best of luck!
Absolutely amazing teacher, the class is easy but the material makes you think deeply about the devlopment of thought throughout history.(so this class is def. worth taking)...Wayne Guthrie is a skilled Pro at teaching, he is very caring and runs A VERY ENTERTAINING class as well, you will never be bored. He has 100 pt exc for attendance, take him!
I HIGHLY recommend taking a history class with Dr. Guthrie. He's so knowledgable-basically he's not one of those profs that say "I'm gonna have to look that up for you" when you ask a question. He's helpful, and extremely accomodating. You start out with 100 pts extra credit that can only be deducted by not coming to class. Exams aren't difficult!
I recommend you not to buy the 3 books just buy the course reader. Attendance is a must to get points and relevant notes. Midterm & final questions and answers are given to you. EASY A, but make sure you also do well on the quizzes; my overall grade on the quizzes was a C or C- but got A's on the midterms. OVERALL grade for the sem was an A.
Good teacher, go to class those hundered points really come in handy
hard not to sleep in the class!! hahaha awesome teacher.. midterm & final questions are given to you.. reading the novels is a must for As on quizes! sparknotes helps too if you dont have much time to read that much ;D lol. attendance=extra points! yay!! extra points!! :P
Guthrie is the such a cool prof! I always sat in the front b/c easier to pay attention. Just come every day and 100pt e.c. Don't cram nite b4! not good. Ease into it in previous week. 2 midterms & 1 final. 5 ?'s quiz per week on a couple chaps. I didn't read and guessed with prior knowledge and did decent. All in all interesting class to take! sb06
this class was relatively easy. gives 100 pts extra credit for attendance. show up! tests are super easy (2 mid. and a final) also you get quizzes on books u have to read. so easy. i got a D on the 1st mid, a C+ on the 2nd, but still got a B in the class. mandatory final! not bery exciting class though...
Really nice guy. Gives a study guide start of semester outlining every day of notes. Study guide is hard to understand, so you should go to class and take notes. I fell asleep a lot so it helps to have study groups so everyone shares notes. Really easy, gives half the questions for midterms and final
Such an awesome class! At first, it may seem unbearable, but it only gets better. As time goes on, he opens up more and starts getting really funny. No text book, just a packet of his notes. They look really unorganized, but make perfect sense as you follow along in lecture. go to class EVERY day because thats an easy 100 points. Excellent class!
Easy class because you don't use a textbook. He gives you a practice exam for every midterm, study them, and the other terms on the list and you should do well. Also, come to class every day for 100 Extra credit points, I hate history but I still got an A in this class.
if you want an easy A I would suggest taking this course. The lectures are very tedious but you get extra credit for showing up, so it's worth it to show up.
The lectures are important to attend. He gives you extra credit for going and it's the only way to get the information because there is no book. He can be interesting at times and tells jokes. His tests are not too hard if you spend some time studying the material. Cool guy that knows what he is talking about.
My best grade at SDSU. Yes, you have to study a decent amount for tests, but it's just memorizing information, no comprehension required. Gives you half the midterm questions, lecture notes are crystal clear if you go, but you HAVE to go to lecture. Please take this class for a fairly easy A+, literally.
Guthrie is such an awesome History Professor. You do learn tons even though you might be sleepy but I think you only get as much as you want to. Don't be lazy and pay attention. If he ever teaches 100 or 101 I'm totally going to take it.I like his humor as well.
he gives extra credit for attendance so you can't really miss class. The practice tests are very helpful if you take advantage of them. sometimes the class can be kind of boring but that's history.
one of the easiest classes at state ever. you get extra credit points for showing up to class. he gives you practice tests so take advantage of those. half of the questions on the practice test are on the exams..if you cant even get a B in this class, you're officially a moron.
Fricken best teacher at sdsu. So good that i took him twice just to boost my GPA. JUst go and sign in and leave every class and memorize the terms he gives u for the exam. He's pretty funny too.
Eventhough this class is not interesting to me at all, if you go to class try to take notes and get B's on your tests you get an A in the class because the 100 points ex cred you get for attendance. Take the class but study a lot too.
This was a fairly easy class but probably the most boring, non-intellectual class i've taken at State. His sample tests make exams easy but if you actually have an interest in History and want to enjoy your 2 hours and 40 mins take someone else. I found him very dry, he doesn't use visual aids and thinks we're all idiots. Easy B if you attend.
Great professor ..he is boring though but easy. GO TO CLASS!! you get a lot of extra credit with that and he gives you half of the midterm in the study guide.
Very easy class but dry lectures. you get 100 points extra credit just for going to all the lectures, so show up and take notes and the class is an easy a.
Must take Guthrie!!! He is an easy A. there are weekly quizzes on assigned readings, but they are super easy. just read cliffsnotes. i got a 4/5 average on my quizzes, and got C's and D's on my tests and still got an A in the class because he gives you 100 extra credit points for going to class.
If you do not mind going to class, take THIS class! You get 10 points extra-credit for every day you are in class. He gives you practice tests that have a lot of the same questions as the test. He wants the students to learn and to pass the class. He gives you a list of words that are the majority of the answer on all three test. I got a solid A!!!
This is the easiest class if have ever taken. Tons of extra credit on the tests and just for showing up.
Take this class!! It's super easy and you'll get an A just for going. Lots of extra credit just for going to class.
TAKE HIM. EASY A.
Nice guy, easy class. Dry humor but that's what happens when you take GE's.
Good teacher, really just wants you to pass the class. 3 tests, no papers, and a quiz once a week. 100 extra points if you go to every class. Easy A.
If you go to class you get 100 points extra credit which brings you up a whole letter grade. This class is really easy if you study the terms for the tests.
Dr. Guthrie is a really nice professor. His lectures are kind of boring but he makes you laugh once in a while. He gives extra credit just for attending class. His study guides are just like the actual tests. Quiz every week on assigned readings, but they're really easy. I did kinda bad on the tests, and I got a B+. So,definitely take Dr. Guthrie.
This class was definitely not as easy as I had thought it would be. His lectures are very boring and dull...I didn't understand anything and had to teach it to myself. The practice tests in the back of the packet help A LOT and go to class for the extra credit. The extra credit is what got me a B, without it I wouldn't have passed.
FIRST, if you dont like being in a classroom DONT TAKE his class. but if u do. TAKE HIS CLASS. I got 100 points extra credit just for being in class. if you're doing just fine throughout the semester YOU JUST NEED D- or 78 out of 144 in the final to get A in the class. his lecture is kinda dry but he's kinda funny too sometimes. hahahaha
This guy's class is awesome. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get a GE out of the way. Super easy; I never read once/did any homework and still managed an A in the class. Would do business again!
Insanely easy class, interesting, I learned something, and plenty of cute girls registered for it. All in all, I think I spent 10 total hours the entire semester studying for the tests and I ended up with the highest grade in our class. Here's the trick: REWRITE the study guide he gives you. Word for word. Do it the night before the test.Cool prof
People that say he was hard are dumb. I only studied a few days before the tests and never read a book and I still got an A+ even though state only recognizes A's. Grading is extremely clear, and easy B with basic effort. Nice/funny guy too.
EXTREMELY BORING! no use of textbook. entire class is him lecturing. hard to study. attendance is for extra credit...but you'll need it. overall, very boring, but tolerable for one semester.
Boring lectures but if you go to class every time you get 100 points extra credit that helps a lot! The lecture notes you buy at the bookstore help a lot for this class. Relatively easy class but the reading is long and boring, and sadly mandatory cause he gives out quizzes on the reading each week.
I dreaded going to this class. His lectures are SOO boring and very hard to follow. If you want an easy A then go ahead and take this class but if you actually want to learn and get something out of your college classes then I suggest you stay away. However, if you decide to take this class make sure you attend each class, use sparknotes, STAY AWAK
I got really interested in the class. He is extremely hard to follow sometimes but the "course reader" definetely makes it easier, attendance is counted and the reading is crucial or make friends with someone that has really read it. Overall good teacher, good class, just sometimes really boring or hectic to follow.
Pretty easy GE just because you get 100 extra credit points just for not missing any classes... and that alone will boost your grade a whole lot at the end of the semester. But--- SO boring and impossible to pay attention. He's really knowledgable about history but gives too much info to handle to write out.
It's Very hard to follow and understanding his lectures.
The worst professor in the world. Has a tendency to talk to a few people about useless things and not conduct the class as a whole. Note to females taking the class, he is known to stare at females and flirt. Quite uncomfortable. Old fashioned, couldn't care about students except get paid type of professor.
Class consists of 2 midterms, a final, and 8 or so quizzes (takes the 8 best scores). He gives out 100 extra credit for attending all lectures. Lectures are a little hard to follow, but there is a course reader. Lectures can be boring at times & hard to understand. All tests are written format and the quizzes are short multiple choice.
Good teacher overall.
this class is soooo boring, but easy. he pretty much only talks to the front of the class, so it's hard to hear him most of the time if you sit in the way back like i do. for attendance you sign a paper and you get 100 points extra credit if you never miss class. there's a quiz every week for the required reading, but just use sparknotes
Horrible teacher, I haven't learned a thing in his class. Most boring class ever, impossible to follow. I don't call that teaching, he could play a tape with his voice and leave the room that would be the same. Not that difficult, but you learn absolutely nothing.
All of these spoiled whiners about Guthrie need to STFU. With Guthrie you know exactly what you are going to get on the tests because he tells you. Whoever can't get an A with Guthrie is a spoiled little liberal arts brat who never could survive a real major.
All i can say is very boring...Go to class you get extra credit for being there which is a lot of help..overall easy A..not the best teacher but tries
Guthrie, what can you say? Who doesn't love him? Best survey history prof ever. His class format is exactly the same in every class he teaches; you can set your watch to this guy. You ALWAYS know exactly what your going to get. Easy A, unless your brain dead.
Take this class if you want an easy A. Gives extra credit for going to class, tests are easy since practice tests are half of the real test. Also gives reading quizzes but just use spark-notes to read the summaries. Yes he might be boring during lecture (all talk) but its all worth it in the end :D
gives extra credit for going to class which helps a lot in the end. i failed the first two tests along with the quizzes..did good on the final and he gave me a b... long and boring, hard to follow him but in the end i still came out with a better grade than i should have received..
attendance is extra credit, which really helps at the end of the semester if you went to class (start at 100 points, each class missed you lose 10 extra credit points). exams are exactly like course reader, but taking notes helps to supplement. lectures can be dry but his discussions of readings (which i rarely did) can be interesting. easy A
Guthrie is awesome and knows his stuff. He is full of history puns, so if you pay close attention and it becomes more entertaining. Sit in front, buy his notes and write in the margins. Read the selected readings and review the notes and you'll pass. Go to class EVERYDAY and you will pass with flying colors because he gives you extra credit.
Do not listen to everyone saying he will make you love history. I read good reviews and took his class. Did not learn A THING! He mumbles during lecture and makes everything really hard to understand. Completely gave up on his class and had to fail. If possible AVOID HIM!! He also thinks he's very funny and let me tell you, he is NOT.
Wayne is extremely boring. It is hard to pay attention in class but I recommend it because it'll help. If you prepare for tests you'll do good, if you don't you'll do horrible. If you come to class everyday you get 100 points extra credit. I'd hate myself if I didn't get an A in this class.
EASY A!! I absolutely hate history & I pulled out a solid A in this course. He lectures the whole time and you don't even really need to listen. Review the student pack a few days before the tests and youre golden. Easy quizzes on books you can just sparknote & 100pts extra credit for showing up (-10 every time you miss). Def take if you want an A
Took this class wanting to learn history. I learned not ONE thing in this class. SUCH and easy A. Went to every class (100 pts extra credit) and just sat in the back and played with my laptop not listening to a word he said. Such a joke of a class. Take if you want that easy A to boost your GPA
Boring class even for a history major. Had i known what to study for the first midterm would have had an A. Basically there is reading quizes (sparknote it), 2 mid terms and final. Extracred for signing in. All the tests are in the guide so make sure you do those to prep for tests. easy just boring.
Boring....Boring...BORING you can?t even here him unless you are in the first three seats in the front of the class. He does mumble but do read the assigned books because the quizzes will screw up your grade big time?..very boring
This class isn't as easy as everyone says. I went to every single class and still studied my butt off for tests. I did manage to get an A but it was work. Read the readings (some did spark notes but I read the books) and show up to class for extra credit. He mumbles and says has a lot of hypothetical so it takes some time to learn his style.
Guthrie was very hard in the begining. Its very important to go to every single class becuase he gives extra credit points if you go. Hard to learn from at times, there is no textbook to learn from, just teach yourself off the internet. use spark notes for quizes, they are very important. sit in front or you wont hear anything.
Easiest class I've ever taken, easy A. I didn't learn a thing. I only studied for the final
GO TO HIS CLASS!!! you get 100 pts extra credit at the end just for attending class.. he is very very boring if you are not interested in history but overall its an easy class to do well in because of the extra credit and he gives quizzes throughout the semester that are 5 questions each and he drops the lowest 2
i took guthrie because i read he was soo easy on here. mb its just that i am not into history (at all) but it was NOT easy to me. your grade depends only on quizzes (which are rly confusing) and tests. he's a decent, sometimes funny guy, but he is not easy and the class was boring
He's passionate about what he teaches but you can ignore him every lecture as long as you sign in every day for 100 points extra credit at the end of the semester. Use Sparknotes for the quizzes and you're golden. There's also a link online that has his study guides filled out, it's called Quizzlet. This class is seriously an easy A and he's nice
Lecture is extremely boring and you don't learn much from it because he mumbles a lot. You can get a decent grade without too much effort as long as you go to class for the 100 pts ec. I don't know what I got on the final but I ended up w/ a B overall with a D- and a C on the midterms + 100 pts ec. Not too hard, just really boring.
Pretty easy. I didnt show up at all, I just went early, signed in for my 100 points every class, then left. 2 midterms and a final. Not too bad as I got an A- after getting a D on the first midterm. Easy A and ge class
This class was a tossup. I thought he was humorous at times but incredibly dull at other times. Class is easy, 3 tests which can be a bit tedious to study for but after the first test it gets easier. Attendance credit gives you 100 ec points if you go to every class. DO IT. Guaranteed to pass. A few 5 point quizzes based on readings. Take it.
Lectures were a little boring at times, but has a very sarcastic sense of humor if you actually pay attention. Requires a packet at a cost that has sample tests with answers and are similar to actual tests. Not the most interesting class but I did learn a significant amount to take away from this class.
lectures get boring but the extra 100 points for attendance helps your grade and test are just like the practice ones he gives
Extremely boring and thinks he knows everything. Come to class for 100 points of extra credit (An A+ in the class is 1000 points so 100 is 10%). Make sure to do the readings b/c the quizzes get multiplied by 6 so their total is 240 points. Do the practice tests and make sure to go over the packet. Overall extremely easy (if you can deal with him).
Most boring class ever. I would show up, sign in for the extra credit, and either sleep or play iPhone games. If you are just trying to get GE's out of the way take this class. If you make flash cards for all the terms on the study guide and show up to every class you get an A
Pretty easy class. Show up to get attendance points (10% of your grade). Three tests and 10 quizzes. No textbook, he uses a course manual. boring
Attendance helps grades, lecture is dreadful, almost never showed up to class. Signed in once he left to use the toiletry daily. If you can tolerate, take the class.
easy class, boring. if you need a GE fulfillment take it. attendance can pretty much get you an A if you show up to every class.
Easy A. 100 pts xtra credit for perfect attendance. Simple, I just signed in and walked right out. Quizlet helped me a bit. & his sample test are almost the same as his actual test.
Lifeless & a drag to attend but it is an easy A. Don't buy any of the required readings, only thing that is important to get is the reading packet. I rented the reading materials & never read a page of it. Failed all the quizzes, but Aced all the exams. Extra credit for attendance. Never knew what the topic was during class but still got an A.
Classes are typically him lecturing for ~an hour from notes on the student packet, with a class every now and then with a simple reading quiz on assigned books. Extra credit for attendance, and (what I think) are really well structured tests that are easy to do well on with some studying. Lectures can be boring, but at times funny.
this man needs to retire;hes depressed about SDSU's budget, thus his negative attitude when you talk to him outside of class. doesnt TEACH history, but RECITES it like a timeline since the renaissance. his tests are sort of easy since you get to pick n choose which questions to answer. attendance is mandatory for the lil points needed for the A
This is a History class, and a lot of people don't like history, including myself. Your grade is based purely on three midterms. You only use a student packet, and there are sample midterms you can study off of since the real midterm look almost similar, with a few different questions. Attend screenings and take the quizzes for extra credit. Easy A
AWFUL teacher. He talks really fast and slurs his words, so you have no idea what he is saying most of the time. Really mean too, asked him a question and he made me cry. If you are willing to teach yourself, memorize the practice tests, and go to class to get attendance points then the class is an easy A...
people said this was going to be an easy A, WRONG! constant mumbling voice, couldn't understand what he was talking about. I didn't learn anything from the lectures and there was no textbook to follow along with. Only take this class if you have a natural understanding of history. Also, no more easy participation points like before. Beware!
HORRIBLE CLASS! Teacher is so monotone. Impossible to keep up. The class reader is a joke and doesn't give you any information at all. Get extra credit for movie days. Not enough to save your grade. TAKE ANY OTHER HISTORY CLASS I PROMISE YOULL DO BETTER
Boring class!!!The best part was the movies, but ehh you can sign in and leave. Just look up the study guides and make sure you study the practice test. Some of the answers are the same as the actual test.
One of the best professors I've had at state. His lectures can be boring with bits of dry humor, but his tests are straight forward and easy. Skim books for names for quizzes. He's extremely knowledgeable and his grading system makes it hard to get anything lower than a B.
Quizlet is honestly your best friend in this class. The lectures are pretty boring and hard to follow. Your best bet would be to review notes on your own. Literally memorize the vocabulary words and sample tests. I went from a D- to a B+ by just acing the final exam. EC for movies days and movie quizzes. Easy class if u just put effort
OK.. soooo... take the class, only go to class when u know he is taking attendance (movie days), don't bother trying to decipher his notes, google the practice exam questions to find the quizlets with ALL the exam questions. got an A- and never really went
Easy A but boring. This class is a joke. After the first quiz I realized I never had to come to class. All Wayne does is talk to the ceiling and read exactly what the course reader says. He has extra credit movies which are boring but help your grade a lot. Just know when the 3 test days are and do the practice tests and you'll be fine.
This teacher is verryyyy verryyy rude and mean, avoid him at all costs, he is never in a good mood very mean
His lectures are super boring and it's hard to pay attention because he talks in circles. You don't really need to go to class but you get attendance points which really help your grade. Go to the movie days because the quizzes help a lot! Quizlet is basically your best friend when studying for the tests.
This class was pretty much a joke. I had him once a week and did not show up most of the time. The only time you should go to class are movie days because he gives EXC and has movie quizzes. Study his sample tests in the course reader you buy and use quizlet and you will get an A. He is an extremely boring teacher that uses no visual aid.
Very easy class, I failed my first test and still got an A- in the class. Quizlet is the best study guide for this class. Never showed up to class only during movie days which are extra credit and test. He offers a lot of extra credit with the movies. Gives you study guides but like I said Quizlet will help with that.
Show up, and watch movies for extra credit. If you study the material (which he gives you,) it's an easy easy A. I ended up with a 106% in the class. History is history so it's hard to cruise by without studying a bit. Lectures are right out of the book so if yo skip class it's no big deal. Would take again.
Its history, so lots of reading is required, which being in college we all should do. The class was very boring, but he gives you extra credit for showing up. Quizzes on each chapter, exams are not very difficult if you prepare for it.
