Has a good sense of humor and knows his rocks. Class was based on 50% labs and 50% tests. The class itself is ok, and he made it fun. Recommended for that stupid 1 unit science lab everyone has to take.

Loved Dwayne's class. He explains things clearly and concisely, and made geology (the one subject I though I would do the worst in) extremely interesting to me. The class is challenging in that you have to study, but he explains things so well that studying is just recap. Recommended!

Tests are extremely long, like 200 questions, 6 pages. Not easy, but not hard. Funny teacher. Gets mad if you disrupt class. Says he was never cool in highschool, and will never be cool. I failed both exams and still got a C. "Ummm..."

The person below is not very bright...Prof. Henderson helps with everything and explains things thoroughly and even gives the first 10 questions of each test beforehand...just go to class and turn in the assignments and you are going to pass. Obviously it's a college level class so expect some challenge, but I guess if don't work hard you wont pass

He was the best lab instructor ever! I took him for summer session and it was a blast everyday! Most of the work is done in class, hardly any hmwk. He is very helpful and will try to get you to understand things however difficult it is. Make sure you UNDERSTAND the work before tests cuz if you're a copier you'll fail. He is obnoxiously cute!

This class is easy as long as you study his powerpoint presentations on blackboard.The homework is easy and so are the tests.He likes this subject a lot and he tries to be funny but he's not. He is a nice guy but he hates when your late and when you talk in class.And dont listen to people who say that its hard, they are just lazy.

Easily one of the best teachers at CSUF. Enjoyed his class IMMENSLEY, and he really made Geology fun for me. Generally a nice guy, with interesting lectures, and fun stories to tell. Academically, he knows his stuff too, so he's not "all fun and no learning" either. If you need to take geology, this is THE guy to take. THUNDER TRILOBITE, OUT!

took his summer session, there is a moderate amount of work in this class, about 9 assignments. He does give extra credit. His tests are straightforward, but each test covers a lot of info. Try to pick and choose "testable" info from his powerpoints and youre set.

Professor Hendersons class is very easy. I took this class at 7:00 in the morning and had a hard time paying attention, but that is about all I did. I completed all assignments that were required and studied for about 30 mins for each exam. I recieved an A with very little effort. The class is very straight forward.

The fact of the matter is he is an awesome guy who is funny and helpful.

Wayne is a awesome guy, very intelligent and definately loves his family, his dogs, and geology. Take him because he knows what he is talking about.

I hated geology and fell asleep most classes cuz it was 7am but he gives a very helpful study guide before each test & is always available to answer questions. Stay awake and you'll probably get a solid A. Also has an extra credit field trip. Didn't use the textbook much cuz he explains everything in class-- just to clarify some points.

OMG, Wonder why the person below me didn't do so well, maybe this "COARSE" would have been better for you in High School... But Dr. Henderson is arguably the best lecturer in the geology department (if you go by words per minute.) Very fair grader, and has a lot of interesting facts about Physical Geology, and how it relates to the everyday world.

He doesn't like people that are late or don't show up. You don't need the textbook, you only need the lab manual. 1 midterm, 1 paper/presentation, 1 final, and 1 weekend trip required. The midterm/final is mostly essay questions that he gives you before the test. Much of the final grade is "smoke and mirrors" because he curves. Not too hard.

His voice is very monotonous and I agree, he does sort of "mock" students if they are not correct, but I don't think he does it to be mean. He does not like it when people are even 2 minutes late and he is very verbal about that. It's hard to get a A, I did all my homework and got B's on the tests and I ended up with a B

Interesting class, very fun to attend lectures...but the tests are extremely difficult. No matter how hard I studied I could never do well on his tests. They are very detailed. If you are not a good test-taker, don't take this class.

Fun field trips learned a lot

This professor does "mock" kids but obviously none of these people get his sense of humor. He is a great teacher because he is a Geo freak. I took a trip with him to Mexico that taught me about Geology and it was cool to go with a knowledgable professor.

Well to be honest not the easiest professor. I have had him for both 310 and 101 and hes not all that hard. The thing with henderson is that you cant be lazy in class because it will bite you later during the test if your lazy dont take this class but if like moderate to hard work take him. He teaches alot about history and funny side jokes.

Hes a cool teacher, funny at times. His tests are long, but they are pretty basic. What i mean, is that his test are broad. I hardly used the book, but it does help a lot. There sure is a lot of homework, especially 40 mins videos to watch every week. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.

His lectures are very very long, but they are really important to pay attention to. Make sure you go to class everyday because he assigns homework almost every period. Don't be afraid to ask him questions, he will help. Over all, I didn't enjoy his class.

Okay, I'll admit. I didn't like him at first. The first part of the semester was all about rocks, not dinosaurs, so that was a disappointment. But after the field trip and getting to know him, I have learned he's a great guy! He's pretty much a genius and super funny. You should print out the powerpoints for class and actually listen!

This class was so much fun! He is a great teacher. He would make fun of everyone and even be made fun of and he didn't care. He loves this subject and really wants to get the subject across to his students. He is very energetic and always has random people just drop in the class. Death Valley was the best trip though!

Easy person to get along with or disliked. Don't really use much of the textbooks just listen to his powerpoint. His studyguides are basically the questions at the end of his PPs. Know you're timescale and listen to his random facts/complaints. They're his bonus questions on test. Go to his field trips, you don't want to write a 5 page paper

Lectures may get off topic but thats how he keeps the class engrossed. Go everyday and show enthusiasm and he will like you, just as all other professor like eagerness to learn in students. Remember, GEO is in the class name, so there is some focus on geology in the beginning of the course. Study powerpoints for positive results on tests.

REALLY REALLY HARD!!! I'm an A student, taken over 30 college classes and this class destroyed me. If your a Geology major or have taken Geo classes before you might have a chance. Cool, helpful teacher though.

I definitely recommend Wayne. He really does have a great personality (although he can be harsh, he is funny). Definitely go to class because his tests are both from lecture and his powerpoints so I don't recommend relying on just his powerpoints. Overall, take this class!!

I was in the 7 am class too and I got an A. The exams were easy they are just like the homework he gives. Like 50 questions on the exam were a matching. If you pay attention and do not copy homework you will do well. He also was the outstanding teacher for Fullerton in 2011.

Wayne is a SMART guy. He KNOWS his stuff and much more. He expects a lot but is always really helpful, if you ask him. He can come off as abrasive and he does like to poke fun at his students, play along and you will learn a ton. Put in the effort, go to class every day, and ask him for help from time to time and you can definitely get an A.

Such a funny professor and keeps you awake. I had 7am class and always intrigued by whatever he was talking about. Class isn't hard but it's a lot of new material and you definitely need to go to class and read the book. Lots of assignment but they are simple. Test are mostly multiple choice w/ some short answer. This is the best prof I have ever had by far. He covers the material, grades the work himself, gives you feedback, and adds homework problems to the exam that you got back graded. He is funny and helpful too.

Even though I passed this class, it was extremely difficult. He is probably one of the most helpful teachers I've ever had but the content of his subject is too much for a 101 class. He is extremely helpful and when you email him, he replies fast. And when you attend class, he will consider that in your final grade.

He's very funny and helpful. I took the lab over intersession, and he was very helpful and understood that it was quick class. It's easy to get a decent grade if you complete all the labs and get at least a 50 on the tests. His great attitude and approachable nature makes the painful subject easier to get through.

A great professor! His Powerpoints correspond with his in-class lecture so attending class is definitely a must. He also connects completely random stories to what we are learning and they are (for the most part) hilarious. Bonus questions on the exams are actually based on the random stories (so pay attention to them).His exams are also VERY TOUGH

I thought he was a decent professor. Not the easiest class, homeworks due everyday and you have to study hard for the test but he made class very funny and enjoyable to attend. Extra credit is definitely worth it because the points go directly on the test. On a 100 question test, 6 points (which he gave) is almost a whole letter grade

The most interesting professor around! This guy knows everything about everything. Very funny and makes a rather boring topic very interesting. He demands a lot so if you're looking for an easy A look elsewhere. He seems to have a fascination with Geese. Ask about his favorite geese the first day of class and you'll make quick friends with him!

This was a difficult class. Funny stories but still boring. I's a heavy reading class & if you don't read every single chapter at least once youll probably fail. So be ready to read!!! Pay close attention to those study guides he gives out b/c if you don't use them...you'll probably fail. It's hard but if you put in the effort you'll at least pass.

He's not easy (news flash, college isn't meant to be easy), he IS hilarious. He is very knowledgeable and expects you to put in the time. His labs and homework are not overly strenuous, but they require time and attention. Exams are long, go to class, be engaged, read the book and practice the essay questions and you'll be fine. 1 of my fave prof.

62% percent bf final, solid C after. Either giant curve was made, or a miracle happened. Lecture was pointless, Take LAB with Aaron Katona and he'll teach you 4hrs of the week lecture in 15 mins :) So this class is pointless, his powerpoints only make things more confusing. Finish the studyguide, study it, and you'll be *Almost* fine.

Best professor. In the beginning I struggled so much but it gets way better. His class is not easy. I worked my butt off. He has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable. Labs and HW are really important and easy points so do all of them. Also go to zzyzx! best trip ever! Wish I could take another class with him...

I don't know what these other people are talking about. If you show up for lecture, do the homework, and study for the exams, you will do fine. Yes, he talks a lot and yes he does have stories about the Imperial Russians during a plate tectonics lecture, but these keep you interested in what he is saying. Very helpful during office hours too.

One of the best professors I have ever had. Extremely knowledgable about everything from sports to history. His class by no means is easy we are in college after all but he will pay attention to how hard you work. Henderson was a lot of fun and I enjoyed his class. He is very funny and always says to begin with over there. He is clear on his lectures but it's mandatory to read the book and study everything. Class is not too hard thankfully. He also goes on tangents about life. I remember how he got annoyed about the line to see Santa Clause.

It was painful the first few days due to his idiosyncrasies, however once you get used to them and take notes when watching the videos he will have you watch, the material is quite easy to understand. I only had the 1 unit portion, so not sure how the rest of the semester went, but if you need just 1 unit, take Henderson!

Gives study guides for every exam (usually 2 and a final). All the information you need is on there. I just made flash cards from them. He is very willing to help, and the study guide even says to contact him if you need help with tests or homework. Videos are long, but very interesting. All of his rants have a point to them, but you have to listen

The best professor you'll ever have if you're into the subject. Clearly explains everything in multiple ways. You'll have to remember ALL of it, but he makes that easy.

NOT FOR THE WEAK. He'll make you WORK for that grade. Dude never shuts up but DON'T stop taking notes; however inane the story, it WILL have relevance. He's a solid professor and genuinely believes in (some of) his students. Millions of dead things is practically burned into my brain so I knocked his score down on the chili pepper rating. TAKE HIM.

Wayne will keep talking forever, but that's what makes the class a million times better. The exams for 201 are more challenging than 101, but is honestly common sense if you pay attention to the lectures. Only thing I hated were the 1-2 hour video assignments due nearly every class, awful memories of that.

Wayne's a nice guy, lectures are long but interesting. Class consists of 3 exams, video quiz homework (very time consuming) and occasionally we turn in actual work. All his exams have bonus questions about his random tangents and you can boost your score by a few points with ec. If you're looking for a laid back class don't take this one.

If your a computer science major, you will need to take the SI lab eventually whenever you have the chance. For this course all you do is literally create a web page and read a couple of chapters a week and write about it. If you have the time get the chance and get it done with, super easy course to take.

Oh Wayne... oh Wayne... If you're taking GEOL 201 chances are you'll be stuck with this guy. He knows his stuff very well and makes class entertaining IMO. His lectures does go off on tangents basically all the time, but pay attention to the real lecture. Be prepared for extremely long exams (201). You'll do fine if you pay attention to lecture.

Overview: Labs: Takes some time to do, but If you ask him for help he'll pretty much give you the answer Video Homework: Primarily follow along videos, easy-to-earn-credit Exams: Generally hard for most, pay attention to the specific details of the lecture and homework, essay topics are given ahead of time (pick from a list of maybe 8 topics)

Spending time on the field trip with a prof H and he is hilarious. Jumping out of the trees like a ghost at Zzyzx or shoving students through holes in the ground or chasing scorpions no one is like prof H.

Wayne Henderson is the GOAT! He cares a lot about his students if you ask for help. He is a funny guy and he provides really great lectures, you learn A LOT. STUDY for the Exams and ALWAYS attend class because the Exams are highly reflected off packets printed out; ALWAYS do his study guides! He gives 2 Midterms & 1 Final Exam and 3 Extra Credits.

Henderson is awesome I learned a ton.

Offers one extra credit assignment for each of his three tests. Short, easy video quizzes due before each class. Just have the video open and answer along the way. Or google the transcript of the episode if it's available. You will have to study a bit, and he tends to go on tangents when lecturing, but overall made me want to take another GEO class

funny, good lectures, goes on tangents but they always relate. everything is online- powerpoints. tests are long but easy. memorization is key. great communication if you ever have questions.

Fun class about geology. I thought the class would be boring but Henderson has lots of funny stories mixed in to keep it real.

Really like how Henderson switched from in person to online due to the pandemic. Exams questions are mostly the same as the homework problems he gives to you. Ties geology into other subjects so if you aren't that bright might want to avoid him but every story had a point! Can't wait to take his 201 and 310.

Make sure you attend the weekly zoom to figure out the labs each week. He has all the online lab stuff due at the end of the week. You can send him examples of the lab partially complete and he sends it back to you with corrections. Class only four weeks so it is a lot to do but he helps all the way.

So just finished the 101 class. We had a few homework each week and some of these became test questions so check the answers before the exam. He records the lecture and then we have a zoom meeting once a week to go through. Fun class learned a bunch.

He lead the best trips I have ever been on. Great job helping us with information yes he expects you to learn things in his class so avoid if you just want to copy and paste pointless information.

Took the hazards class with Henderson online. He has optional meetings and recorded lectures. Tests have homework problems on them a good class for my electives.

Funny I am going to grad school too and I earned an A in this class. The test are the homework problems he goes over with you. Henderson will also meet you outside of class if you want to go through an assignment with him. He was helpful knowledgeable and his jokes are funny.

Took the winter 101lab for three weeks asynchronous. He records directions for the lab which you follow to complete each lab each week.

Took the online lecture class with Henderson. I never had a prof answer emails so fast even during weekends. Lectures are recorded, grade us 3 exams plus 25% homework. He puts the homework problems in the exams so you need to make sure you know how to do them. Had an SI too but I do not know anyone who went to that.

Henderson genuinely cares about making sure his students connect with the material. Lectures are loud and passionate, and that's fun if you let it be fun. There are weekly labs, but the labs are really short and super easy compared to my chem or physics labs. Overall I enjoyed it and feel like the class prepared me for higher-level geology classes.

He is extremely kind, but the tests lower your grade a lot.

Took the 101lab during winter with Henderson. Only meet for three weeks so lots of work in short time. Henderson will meet you to run thru labs and all labs have video directions.

This is the best class I every took at Fullerton. We went on multiple trips to Anza Borriaga where we went through this awesome canyon and saw fossil shells. We also went to Death Valley where we went to this arch and out to collect trilobites by Nevada and saw mammoth tracks We also collected ammonites in OC None of the other 201 class go places

Took the hazards class with Henderson. It covers fires floods earthquakes etc. My parents were buying a new house so it was a good tie in to things to think about before you buy. The lectures are recordings in 15-35 minute blocks. Homework problems also text problems. Would take again

Henderson is awesome. He made the 101 class interesting brought in lots of other subjects and their link to geology. You have to pay attention to understand the point of his stories.

The person below probably never came. Wayne will cover any question you have and really cares you learn and do well in the future. I mean half of his class the previous semester kept showing up to visit.

Took the online 101 summer class by Henderson. He replies back to email and will meet on zoom if any questions. Homework with two exams was the grade. Good class.

I recommend this professor for the Geol online class. His lectures are amazing and engaging and I learned so much in his class. I recommend this class and professor.

Super funny guy but he does go on tangents during lectures. Hard to take notes and class and study for his exams so make sure to do well on the essay portion. Homework, presentation, and the paper were free points but the labs were difficult and were never done in class. The overnight fieldtrip was fun if you can make friends with your groupmates.

I enjoyed taking this course with Professor Henderson online, would recommend to others. Lecture is easy and if you work and go to college you will be successful in the course.

Wayne truly cares for his students. He's funny and knows everything about geology. However, his course is HARD. We had a final essay, a presentation, a midterm, and final exam. About 5-10 assignments EVERY week. Exams: multiple choice AND essay questions. And yes. I'm talking about actual essays. 1 MANDATORY field trip to Zzyzx. tbh very fun.

Really funny and helpful prof. Need to go to class ad turns class/homework problems into exam questions.
