nice guy hard class
Copy his notes and study them.Also turn in the class work(not very much).That is all you need to do to get a good grade in this class.
He was a great teacher, very helpful, and friendly. I would suggest taking his class to anyone.
Real nice instructor, but a very hard class. His voice is real annoying, other than that just turn in class work and take notes to do well on the test and you'll be fine. Not a easy A class though.

This teacher is probably one of the best teachers i've ever had. He is very clear about what he teaches and it really sticks to you. He is a very funny guy, always cracking jokes and referring to FINDING NEMO in his lectures. His voice isnt annoying its funny. A lotta notes but they are very helpful
henderson is an awesome teach. he knows his stuff! there was A LOT of material covered b4 each exam, which made the class seem difficult. he drops the lowest test score, so its not tht bad. he's a gr8 teach, i highly reccomend his class. luv the jokes! interesting class.
HE LECTURES ARE VERY CLEAR, BUT THERE IS TOO MUCH MATERIAL TO COVER IN EACH TEST. PROBABLY THREE TO FOUR CHAPTERS IN EACH TEST. HOWEVER, THE LOWEST GRADE IS DROPPED.

need to show up to all labs but he helps you with the problems. The tests are just redoing the labs. He is funny and the boat trip is aweaome!

Very interesting, you'll take home useful everyday knowledge from him. Not just facts and numbers like most teachers. He's a great guy and works with you and goes over everything as many times as it takes, even if he has to stay after class with you to do it. He loves to teach, so if you love to learn he's the right professor.
Henderson totally knows what he is talking about. He lectures about interesting stuff, and hes really funny. In the class you have to take lots of notes. There are 3 tests (he drops one) they are pretty hard; I recommend going over the study guide. But then, the final is easy because it is basically all the other tests combined.
This guy knows everything you can imagine about Geology and answers any questions in-depth
so boring. so boring that u cant concentrate for more then 15 mintues lectures on and on and his jokes are not that funny. so not recommended
funny nice teacher!
Awesome guy, grate teacher, knows his subject very well, always tells funny jokes  just make sure to do all the home works because they are 25% of the grad. Do not have to take lots of notes because all the slideshows that he shows in class is in WebCT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! One more thing do not talk in the class he does not like that.
This class was pretty boring, and the tests were hard. He can be funny about once per class, but then you lose interest fast.
This is a really boring class. All you learn about is rocks and magma and rocks! You have to study a lot for the tests because you probably won't be able to stay awake during lecture. His tests are hard too! good luck!
First of all Wayneeeeeee. He's nice but talks too much, and isn't helpful. He tends to go off topic during most of this lectures and you have to pretty much do the questions using textbooks or from your own notes. He is quite amusing in his own special way. He's got a cute smile
Biggest mistake not dropping this class. He's a chill guy, but if you don't have an amazing attention span this class is definitely not for you.

Funny guy fun class need to show up and do the homeworks and stuff. Not too hard but need to know the stuff to do well he keeps it real
Horrible teacher, very unclear with a passion for stupid jokes. Was getting an A in the ocean 115 class so the subject wasn't hard for me but he made it unbearable and un-exciting. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Fun lab some people didn't do much so they complained but if you did the work and showed up on time it was cool. Fun beach trip.
We had no textbook for class so he gave us printouts and stuff on blackboard. Fun guy and kept us motivated for 7:45 am class

Professor Henderson is funny as hell, he is strict, but he doesn't baby sit you. you need to be responsible for your stuff, gives extra credit and explain his class in a very particular way. test and exam are easy, kind of predictable. knowledgeable homework is doable.
Henderson is a good professor, but watch out for silly jokes! Make sure you do all your assignments. Also make sure you use every single source available to you to study for the exams (study guides, notes, textbook) because test questions often cover things that were not covered in lecture. Otherwise it's a good class!
Mr. Henderson is such a nice guy!His lectures are funny and interesting, but you also need to PAY ATTENTION to notes/lectures. I would highly recommend buying the textbook (it will help you for the tests). Overall, this is a really fun class; but be prepared to work! This class is worth taking if you want someone passionate about their field.
VERY boring, DO NOT take this class. Lots of work and not interesting at all. Can't focus for more than 20 min. Nice guy but I regret not dropping the class.
Has a story for everything he talk about and full of "fun facts" about everything. Very good teacher. also, there is something ridiculously attractive about him.
The one class at Glendale i couldn't wait to go to. Expect many tangents and jokes, he has very good delivery, only the most depressed people in the class didn't get his jokes. Also, expect thorough lectures, the trick is to drop the pen on the tangents BUT pick it up again when he goes back to the slide. Use his study guides and the book!
Excited about topic, up-to-date, enjoys teaching. Ppt files help, good notes are more important. Most test questions from lectures. Anything talked about is important - anything repeated is a sure test question. Always avail during office hours. A well reasoned argument show you thought about it has allowed credit. 110% on fairness scale.
I had a great time taking this class. I learned a lot and had fun. He is hilarious and understanding as long as he can see you are working hard.
He often goes on funny rants about history, his second major, and if you like history then you'll love his class! He does not help people who don't show up to his class or participate ( i.e. you have to do both ). He teaches through power point and gives online coursework ( a movie ) every night. Great teacher who loves what he teaches and is kind.
Makes the class interesting because of his humor. Not a fan of the homework as they take up a lot of time (online videos with questions to answer; videos last about 90 minutes). His tests are difficult. It seems like no matter how much you study, you miss out on some material. Some questions include things you do not cover or simply gloss over.
ONE OF THE HARDEST CLASSES! Prof. Henderson is okay. he is easy to reach if you have questions. but the class is SUPER DIFFICULT! i dont think ive ever been more confused in my life. txtbook isnt necessary, niether is attendance. every class is him talking about the slides, which are all on moodle. just show up for the 2 midterms, and the final.
GET THE TEXT BOOK. I did not learn a single thing in class. Had to teach myself everything. Wish I made study group, would have helped.
dont bother the to buy the textbook, the power point will be enough. its not worthed if you only need this class for GE. too much work. there are easier prof but he curve pretty good
One of the difficult teachers I have ever met. He talks everything except the Lecture. He is too confusing and language is blurring. The tests are too hard and he grades you like you are getting your Phd. Quizzes are the most old videos that I have ever seen, there are 3 exams , 2 with 100 questions, final with 200 questions. Nonsense!
the hw consists of online quizzes that are the smallest boost in your grade, they barely make up a fraction but they do help. i did terrible on my exams, i went to every class and had an A average on my quizzes/hw and i got a B. he gives extra credit for every exam including the final which was amazing. Exams are way too difficult for what it is
I see ratings and I am pretty sure that most of rater have rated this prof. because they have been asked to do it. Shame on you. He is good personality but he is horrible instructor. He thinks that his class is the most wonderful and important class. Thats why he gave so hard test and talk all the time about smth that tell smth about himself.
Great class learned a lot.
He is not very clear and does not explain when asked a question. His tests are 100 questions, but he does offer extra credit. There is homework due online every class and its basically just videos. I feel like his lectures are ways to show of vacation photos, not information based. I changed from him to another professor and I'm glad I did!
This class haunted me. It took up SO much of my time every week with the online course work and I literally had to record his lectures so I wouldn't miss a thing. I do appreciate all the history and evolution that I learned about, if you're into that. This class takes a lot of hard work, if you can't handle it, don't bother.
Great class on historical geology learned a lot and Henderson is always ready to talk to you with questions.
The class is very hard. It is very hard for international student because of his accent is very strange. Many student can't understand what he says. There are lots of homework. You should do it online. The test is really hard.

Fun class for 9 am
Lab class was great he helps you answer the problems and has great field trips. Their are two tests and they are made of of prob lems from the labs you complete during class. Little homework.

This Professor has issues. He has a great opportunity to inspire students instead he makes their life hell. Give so much work and his quizzes are horrid. He only gives you 30 seconds to answer the question on the quiz. Same thing with essay questions.. If you enjoy life, do your self a favor and take someone who has a passion to teach.
do the extra credit! If you do it will make your life so much easier. His lectures are fun and entertaining. Midterm and Final are kinda hard but just try to be logical and think like him. three extra credit opportunities, going to museums or aquarium, not bad.
Online class has discussions, homework, a short presentation, and two exams, Test are time so you have a minute to two minutes er question so you can't look up stuff during the test. Answers emails fast and I learned a lot. His evolution stuff made more sense than the bio stuff I took.
Professor Henderson is an awesome Professor. The midterm is difficult but if you study hard you will pass. There is a quite a bit of hw however you can do it. He answers to emails preety fast and he is easy to understand.
I took ocean 115 with him at GCC during the Summer, don't take his course if you value GPA. He assigned 7 homework videos a week (each each was an hour long), he had weekly discussions and had video lectures that consisted of hardly any information regarding the class. He gives one minute to complete exam questions and these exams are very lengthy.
I never had a professor respond to questions so fast in my life. Lectures are recorded and from 10 minutes to 45 minutes. Easy to follow and the homework questions become test questions so if you pay attention you will do well.
He does not teach. He will give you vague lecture videos, where he goes into many tangents about vacations. His exams are multiple parts with each part being about 30 questions per part. He does not prepare you enough for these exams. As well, there are multiple assignments per week, averaging 3-4 per week.
So remote course he records the lectures and then you meet to talk on zoom once a week. Has homework that shows up on exam so make sure you complete them and check the answers.
BORING. It is not my first class where "professors" think that the video from youtube from 2009 will teach me anything... but it's definitely that class where I just become tired from this "education". Go to Coursera and you will get more inspiration than from this online class.
So this online class has the lectures broken into short videos from 5-40 minutes long. He tells you what we are covering each week and has homework tied back to the video lectures. He often makes these separate. No textbook but has outside material to cover this. Loved the landslide stuff he showed us.
He has really cool pictures that he shows in his lectures, but he is awful. Everyone is right, he goes off topic in talking during lectures, even in the recorded lectures! His tests are nothing like the homework, complicated and long, and gives very little time to complete. The video questions were very easy, discussions were unnecessarily long.
Took him for asynchronous ocean. He has power point lectures he breaks into shorter recorded lectures. Most of the exam questions come from the homework. Tests have time limits but gives you a long window to complete the test.
Prerecorded dated janky audios from a monotone speaker who whispers his lectures in a bathroom with PowerPoints 160 slides plus, which are littered with vacation pics, Care about geology or your gpa, skip this guy, he is unorganized, no book, lectures are about kangaroos, and offensive history but exams are about geology, which he teaches NONE OF!
This professor assigns about 5 homework assignments a week and then when it comes to the midterm and final exam gives you a three part test broken up into about 40 questions each section with only 30 minutes to do said sections. Ridiculous really, I don't know how anyone is expected to complete 1 to 2 questions each under a minute.
I was very stressed about needing a lab and a lot of people made oceanography sound so hard and impossible. However this class was extremely manageable and professor Henderson is very reasonable and responsive. Not a scary class or hard class by any means. It is however a really eye opening course and I learned more than I ever thought I would.
There were definitely a lot of quizzes and homework assignments in this class, but they weren't very difficult. Watch the lectures! Professor Henderson is a very entertaining lecturer and most of the questions he asks on the exams are either from the homework or from the lectures. Also, use the study guides he provides, they help a lot.
Awesome beginners geology course! Super extremely easy if you are already familiar. Just do the homework on time and you'll be fine. Lectures are informative and hilarious.
He is not the best choice for you, trust me. Getting an A in this class is absolutely impossible. His teaching style is horrible and he assigns very much homework per week. During the semester we had 5+ quizzes per week. The questions were very hard; for each question, he put 5, 6, or even 10 answer choices, which were very confusing. Don't take!!!
Although I did learned a lot in this class & he is a fair grader, it was a lot more difficult than it needed to be. The class is homework and test HEAVY and not all of the assignments were clearly taught before being assigned which sets you up to fail. Also the allotted time for the midterm and final was not enough to complete properly.
Took the earth history class with Henderson Learned a lot I wanted to learn more about fossil fungi and he sent me a bunch of stuff to learn more including giant mushrooms from the Pennsylvanian Very helpful when I talked about where to transfer to too
He's super chill, but he knows people don't watch his lectures, so beware, the midterm is absolutely going to destroy your grade, so make sure you do all the hw and quizzes so your grade has something to stand on, there is a curve. He responds fast via email, his lectures are pure torture, and you can tell he records off his phone, very monotone.
Just finished taking the midterm for this class, and I just wanted to say that this professor gives the most ridiculous amount of work ever for a class. 6 parts to a midterm with atleast 20-40 questions each part, along with two essays at the end????? So much unnecessary work for this class
THANK GOD I realized this class was impossible before the drop deadline, I wish my classmates the best but this is insane. Geology is supposed to be fun. For me, this was a GE "attempt." This class will stress you out: 8 tests, 2 discussion, and 3 six-hour labs, in 2 weeks! This professor should not be teaching, how do you make geology miserable??
Do not take this class if you are not a geology major, if this is a GE take it at a different school or hopefully a different professor. Do not fall for the false confidence of "Maybe I'm different, those other reviews did not try." At least if you do that set the reminder for the drop date. All your anxiety will come from this class, I promise you
Garbage class, it's online because he figured out he can record lectures once and basically automate the class. There is no "peak your curiosity" and learn. It's all prerecorded lectures with bad quality because they are so old and too many assignments that involve math?? Take the other guy if there is one
Never take his class, positive reviews are most likely fake. If you have to choose between his class and Biology in person, take Biology. Ridiculous amount of tedious homework. I took 9 other classes during this course and combined they weren't even close to how much he assigned. Also, his midterm is 6 parts, final is 10 parts. Waste of time.
Listen to the other reviews, I'm currently enrolled in this class and the workload is ridiculous. I have 5 other classes and spend less time on them collectively than on this class. Great class if you wanna be a Geo major or something related but otherwise do not take his class. If you have to, be prepared to use Chegg, Course Hero and Cliffnotes.
