Awesome teacher. He is very organized and always available to help his students.

This teacher is the coolest!!! He will make you want to have a math major.
He is an awesome teacher!!!!!
Straightforward, organized, nice, and always gave you the chance to finish your homework and ask any questions about it before tests, along with review days.
Really easy going, nice and helpful. Explains things well and moves at a good pace. I highly recommend him.
Very good teacher and willing to help outside of class when needed. Very pleasant personality and good sense of humor.
Great teacher because he wants you to understand. He is very patient and has plenty of time after class to assist on anything you don't understand.
Mr. Jensen is very mild and meek. But don't let that mild personality and soft speech decive you! He doesn' go over everything in class, you have to seek him out for individual help. But if you can get past that then he's a very helpful instructor
A great teacher! I'm doing well because of HIS approach to Math. A strategy for success: start with JENSEN AND HILL, then DON'T MISS Professors ELLERMAN and MACIAS! THEY ARE THE IVY LEAGUE! You'll leave inspired, prepared and empowered!
Very boring teacher.. if you like cut and dry teaching here it is. Hes really nice though and gives a lot of help
While Mr. Jensen is very patient and extremely helpful when you seek him out for individual help, I found this to be a very hard class. Beware of the unannounced quizzes, given once a week. Also, know that it is very fast-paced, so don't get behind on the homework! He will definitely do all he can to help you succeed if you show that you care.
Mr. Jensen was ok during the first half of the class, but by the second part he was unclear and rushed through things. He didn't go through things step by step, which made this more difficult for many students in my class. I would not strongly reccomend him. He was ok, but definitely not great.
He presents the material clearly, concisely, and doesn't make concepts more difficult than they actually are. Exams are reflective of the material covered, but usually include special case senarios. Willing to provide personal instruction after class, which gets out early most of the time. He's lenient with grades and gives you what you earn.
LOVED THIS TEACHER!!!!
He's a nice guy but a horrible teacher. He means well.
He is very clear in his lectures and encourages students to attention his office hours. Tests are somewhat tough, but he does give a great review class before the test.
I think that this teacher is awsome.
The teacher is fine but gives unannounced quizzes. therefore, its hard to makeup your grade. Take my advice and take somebody else if you want to see good grade on your transcript. Although i got A, but i had to work my ass off in this class.
Excellent at explaining material, tests are straight forward with no surprises, he is willing to work with you as long as your doing the work
While I did not find the class that enjoyable, I did find Mr. Jensen to be helpful, and fairly clear in teaching style. He was pretty soft-spoken, and very considerate of the students. The homework wasn't that hard, and the tests were a little hard, but not overly. All in all, not bad...
best math teacher i have ever had. even if you never understood math, he makes it seem easy. he's big on partial credit. take him he's a great teacher. i got an a.
Mr. Jensen was a HUGE help. If you're not a math person (just as I am) his class will definitely help you to understand better. He's more than weilling to help you and will meet with you during office hours. He's awesome :)
Very clear and helpful. I love math so this class was a breeze, but overall pretty easy.
he's a teacher that seems to care.
I?ve never liked math before and after 35 years of being away from college I didn?t think I could even do Algebra. Professor Jensen was both dynamic and very sensitive in insuring that everyone understood from the first to final chapter. He is a very effective communicator--and he wants you to succeed! Register early as his class will be full!
Jensen is a cool teacher if you have to take math i recemend you have him a your professer
Jensen is the best teacher I've had for math. He is very attentive, caring, and helpful. During class I never felt rushed, which is important for me as I'm not the fastest at math. I plan on taking him for the rest of my maths.
Jensen is really the best math teach i've ever had. He is very good at explaining things and when he's done explaining a chapter, you get to leave! It's the best :P
Jensen is pretty cool. He's not like all the other math teachers that rush you onto the next lesson quickly. That's big for me, because I hate math and I'm not very good at it. He doesn't take role. I would've probably got a better grade if I didn't ditch every Friday morning....oops!
Highly recommended! Great teacher and sensitive to your needs. He explains everything very thoroughly and will make sure you understand. He doesn't rush through concepts and makes math easy to understand. If you don't get an A in his class, it will be due to your own lack of effort. He is great and very cute!
really good class. he tells you everything to study for the test and really cares about whether or not the students understand the topic. thats more than you can say for 99% of the professors i've had in the past.
Best math teacher I've every had. Math has never been a strong point for me but his clear teaching style makes the material easy to learn.
took class online not a good fit for me but wayne was awesome always answered my emails and very helpful when i came to see him for help. will take him again for math 120.
This is my second time taking this teacher. I am your typical awful math student, but he's pretty fair and helpful. I've taken Math 100 many times from other teachers, but I only had to take Math 120 one time from Jensen to pass. Very on top of his grading. I took my final on a Monday, and then the very next day I had an email in my inbox telling m
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER, SINCERELY CARES ABOUT THE STUDENTS AND THE SUBJECT, TAKE HIM IF YOU ARE NOT SO GOOD WITH MATH LIKE I USED TO BE.
Excellent! Explains topics extremely well, makes sure you understand how the equations work, not just memorize and do it. Wished he taught harder math classes-I would have done a lot better if he did! Easily approachable, takes time to make sure you get help if you need it. Highly reccomend.
FANTASTIC MATH TEACHER! I HATE MATH AND HE MADE IT EASY. DO THE WORK, AND HE WILL HELP. BEST MATH TEACHER EVER, PERIOD!
Great teacher. He is very clear about the work and the steps taken to get an accurate answer to any problem. He keeps all the class on one page and is willing to work one on one with any problems you may have. Definitely would recommend taking his class if you have trouble with math.
great teacher like everyone says, he is very helpful and he reviews the tests in class before you take them. i would recommend him.
Jensen is a great professor. I'm not very good at math, but with his attitude and methods of teaching, he will get you through it. Kind of a nerd, but hes definitely cool, he takes the class step by step. Attendance is NOT mandatory, but missing one day is like missing half a chapter. Taking him again in Fall 2010. RECOMMENDED
One of the best teachers I've every had. I hated math but he has a teaching style that made it easy. He answers all questions and gets tests by the next class period. Highly recommend!
Jensen is a great math teacher. He is very good breaking down the problems so they are much easier to understand. His tests are not easy but he tries to make sure everyone is prepared. Take him if you can.
He is a really good math teacher! and that's coming form some one who does NOT do well in math. He is super nice and very helpful.
He is a Great teacher! Highly recommend taking his class. He was very helpful and did not move on to a new topic until everyone in the class understood.
I dropped his class about 3 months in. He is monotone and is always asking, "Is that okay?" He is a good teacher for students that can comprehend the math. I fell behind quickly because he moves through the material at rapid speeds.
Jensen is a great teacher who also seems to really care about the success of his students. He answers questions clearly for students to easily understand. Homework is due at the end of each section before the test, so it is easier to work around your own schedule. Probably one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Highly recommended.
Jensen is great! I am terrible at math and wasn't interested in stats at all prior to this class. He made everything very clear and made sure we were all on the same page. Very helpful & genuinely very nice. He's very fair on grading, too. So nice in a math teacher. Wish I could have had all my math classes with him!
Professor Jensen instructed clearly, took questions patiently, and inquired if we were getting "it" okay. He encouraged us to use methods we were comfortable with, not just the method the textbook used. He also offered an extra credit opportunity, two quiz make-ups and one chapter exam make-up. I'd definately take one of his classes again.
Great Teacher. Very Clear!
I love Jensen! I am horrible at math -_- and got a B :D.I took stats at edc with curran and failed it. Jensen explains everything with clarity and encourages you to ask questions. Everything on the study guide is on the test and he goes exactly by the book. I LOVE HIM.
SUCH an awesome teacher. I suck at math and because of him I got a B in Math for the first time in a long time. And thats because I missed Friday classes, I could've easily gotten an A. Very helpful, approachable. Nerdy sense of humor but funny. Take Jensen!!
Professor Jensen is good. He is pretty funny and does his best to keep class interesting. Sometimes his explanations can be confusing, but one thing he excels at is making sure the entire class understand everything. He will answer any question you have, and paces the class slowly so no one gets left behind. I would recommend him.
Such a great professor!! I loved him right off the bat. He explains things so well and clear that I felt like I had been studying the material for years. He makes math fun and says some pretty corny jokes but that's how you learn to love him. He is organized and overall one of the best professors I have ever had. I recommend taking him 100%
good guy, explains well, but doesnt exactly set you up for the tests. Gives a review of test, but changes the test after it seemed like. Picks the very hardest from homework for tests. Pretty much the problems he spends the least amount of time going over.
Really great professor. He explains new concepts very well. He also always lets the class know what types of problems are going to be on the test.
Great teacher. Explains things really well and moves on when everyone understands. Will use tons of examples until you get it. Tests aren't easy, but do-able. Organized teacher. Highly recommend Jensen.
Great teacher. I took him for pre-calculus so the subject wasn't easy but he helped tremendously. He always stayed after class if I had questions. I highly recommend him.
Best math teacher I've ever had. Made statistics easy to learn and i hate math! Like 6-7 overall tests which is good for your grade. Homework due at every test date. Grades for work not correct answers. Funny, clear, realistic about expectations. Only bummer is cumulative final. but take him if you have the chance! Worth a drive
He is literally the best teacher I've ever had. He tells you exactly what is on the test, hw is graded on completeness. As long as you do the hw and the study guides he has online, you will pass. Easy class!! I learned so much and I ended up with a 97% on the final and a 97% in the class overall! I definitely recommend him as a teacher!
Jensen is one of my favorite math teachers so far. He's not too exciting, but he's goofy, clear in his lectures, and a nice guy.
Jensen made so many things click for me this semester. He does tons of examples and explains everything thoroughly. I definitely recommend him to anyone looking to take a math class.
Love love love Jensen! He's so funny and dorky, he said "I grade your tests with love" not in like a weird way, but he means that when you do a whole data set, but miss one number and it throws off the end result, but you did the process correct, he won't take off points. He's so clear and nice and he's just perfect. Take him, you won't regret it
Professor Jensen was a good teacher. He tried very hard to make sure everyone understood the material before giving an exam. He explained the work much more thoroughly and in a more relateable way than the course book. He also had a sense of humor which is a plus for a Stats class that was at 7:30 in the morning.
Like any math class you must do your homework do do well on the exam. Professor Jensen grades fairly on homework but it does not count for a huge amount of your grade. He will not move on unless you understand it. He takes all questions and responds thoroghly. He is available for questions individually if needed. He alwso goes over what will be on the test so there is less anxiety when you prepare for it. Very fair. Great teacher!
My first day he made math so clear. I thought I had a math block and now I'm doing my math homework at lightening speed. He is a math angel sent from heaven. I'm actually having fun and am not afraid of math anymore. I can not stress enough: If you are afraid of math he will change that for good. Amazing person and instructor!
great teacher, very thorough explaining math, has kind of a self-deprecating sense of humor like conan o'brien, totally recommend for those who are doubtful about math.
Prof. Jensen is such an amazing teacher. For the first time probably in my life I am actually understanding math. He really makes sure you understand everything and wants everyone to succeed. There is obviously HW but it was never too much. He gave you a good amount of time to finish it. He is fair when he grades tests as well.
Jensen is the best!! He is so nice and makes sure everyone understands the lectures. The tests are EXACTLY like the homework problems. He did give out two "pop quizzes" but ended up dropping them from our grade. Put in the time to practice the problems and you'll do well!
Homework is worth 15% of the grade, tests: 65%, and final: 20% - so be warned if you're not a good test taker. Gives review sheets for every test, and full days before the test dedicated to review and is very helpful at explaining. No extra credit. Grades problems for process/content rather than exact answer. Wants you to succeed, awesome prof :)
Hardest class this semester for me. Math Isn't my thing & I really had to work hard to earn my grade. His teaching style is ok but can be confusing for some. I utilized a lot of outside tutoring & self teaching to understand concepts. He can be forgetful & make mistakes. Not a bad teacher but not the best. He can be fast paced, but he's overall ok.
Definitely my hardest class this semester. Math is not my strongest subject and I had to study a lot to barely get buy. He's a nice guy but can be a little fast paced. What made it the most difficult for me is he doesn't allow calculators which can make it difficult when you know the concepts but forget basic math rules you haven't done in years.
Hands down, one of the best professors I have ever had. He is amazing. He is very clear about what is going to be on the tests/ final. Folsom lake has some amazing teachers, but professor Jensen is one of the best. If you have a question, he can explain the material multiple ways. He is hysterical.
Best Math professor I have had. Very clear lectures. Easy to approach for help. Goes over assigned homework problems in class.
Prof. Jensen is a really good teacher he makes sure you know everything on your homework he has review days before tests and goes over everything. He makes sure you know the material before moving on and I really like that about him I wish he was teaching a math 100 class next semester id definitely take it. 10/10 would recommend!
He is very kind and if something doesn't make sense to you he will do all he can to try and help. HW due before tests but not a ton of it and it is helpful. He does a review day before his tests where he tells you what kind and how many of each problem will be on it. He was a "kind" grader as well. He wants you to succeed!
Jensen is a very fair and reasonable guy. He's clear about what is going to be on tests and has review days for them. Homework assigned basically everyday, but thats to be expected in any math class. Sometimes I felt that his teaching style could be confusing, but math is a difficult subject to teach. doesnt take attendance or count lates
Jensen explains each topic thoroughly. Such a great professor, easy to follow, makes sure you understand, and assigns good amount of homework. One thing i don't like it is every 2 weeks theres a test of 2 chapters. Prepare to have to learn new things fast and well.
He is a great professor. I am just having problem with the statistic concept not him. I strongly recommend him, he is flexible and he makes things clear if you show up to office hours.
Great Guy, great professor. Gives very clear examples that strongly relate topics and ideas to those found in HW and tests. The only "problem" I had was he spent half of lecture reviewing the last classes material. For those who like the review this is only a helpful tool, but for those who get things quickly, its a bit annoying. I recommend him!
He is a really good professor and I recommend taking his class! He cares about his students understanding and succeeding in his class. He gives partial credit on tests so if you got the formula right but the answer wrong you can still get points. The hw isn't that much and doesn't take long. Take his class!!
Jensen was one of the best teachers I have ever had. I took him for stats at 7:30 in the morning but he was always there with a smile on his face ready to teach. He is extremely clear and really cares about his students. I struggle with math but he made it easy to follow along. Just show up to class and you will pass the tests. :)
He explains a variety of different ways in which to do one problem which enables people to find a way that works for them. I was very grateful and I loved his class.
Awesome instructor! I had him back to back with Eitel over the summernight and day. Jensen explains material thoroughly, and in new ways. He's methodical, gentle, and clear. Intelligent instructor, great classroom manner. He makes math accessible, and you know he cares about your work. Absolutely would take again.
Do not take him if you have never taken Stats before. His tests are so hard and he grades so hard. Tests are 65% of your grade and homework barely counts.
Jensen has helped me exceed in math, which I hated prior to taking his classes. I sign up for his classes first then plan around it. He's an incredibly nice, kind hearted professor. If you can't learn from Jensen, you should seek a different major/route to get to the level you need. He cant explain a formula so many different ways its amazing.
Goes through many examples to make sure everyone understands. Is willing to stay after class and answer questions. Tells you exactly what will be on the tests. Tests are exactly like the homework.
Wayne is one of the best professors I have had. Hes lectures are very clear. He answers to all the questions, brings more and more examples just to make it clear for student. He is very positive and always smiling. I also took math370 with him and got an A in class. Hope he teaches math 401 as well.
calculus is not an easy class. I dropped my MATH400 last semester with W because I was not understanding anything and the professor was not teaching well, at all. This semester I took Waynes class, and I love the way he teaches because I understand almost everything. He is an amazing professor. Very funny and cares so much about each student.
Jensen is the best math prof you will find. He is a real gem. Makes math hilarious. If you ask him something, he will explain million different ways until you get it. Offers extra credit. Clear grading criteria. Tells you exactly what's gonna be on the test. It's hard to fail his class and his tests if you do all the homework. Want him for CalcII.
Professor Jensen is not a good explainer. he doesnt break things down. No extra credit work because its based on your performance so if your performance during test suck then you wont pass. His lessons dont go in order which is super confusing. If you want to pass I highly recommend finding another teacher.
I loved Jensen. He's an incredibly kind and caring man. He's very much a classic nerdy math teacher. He kind of feels like a dad. He's always available to help you if you're struggling. I had to drop for personal reasons and nothing to do with him. Math is a tough subject but he does his best to help you understand. Utilize his office hours!
Professor Jensen is a good teacher and a likeable character. His homework load is neither too much nor too less. His morning lectures could be really really boring, but you will not be able to succeed without them.
probably one of the best math teacher's I've ever had! Prof Jensen is very thorough and definitely cares that his students understand all of the material. all the concepts were pretty simple and easy to understand, and the online pretest definitely help prepare for the exams
Straightforward lectures & very easy to follow. He goes over everything, and anything you ask. Quiet voice so I would sit up front, reminds me of Mister Rogers. Grades HW as participation, doesn't actually check answers. Always available and ready during office hours, if you miss a lecture he lets you sits in his other classes. My absolute favorite
Took this class with a different teacher and completely failed, retook this class with Jensen and he made the class so much easier, he will go over all the material until you understand it instead of rushing through it. He does reviews for the tests and goes over everything that will be on them. Definitely would recommend taking him!
Had a Mon-Wed-Fri class with him and he did a great job preparing the class for homework and tests. During his lectures, he would pick even number questions out of the book and walk through them, then you would go home and do some of the odds for homework. On the test review days, he'd go over exactly what to expect on the tests. Great professor!
Not much homework at all which is appreciated. He's really kind and easy to talk to. He teaches the material clearly and has no problem rephrasing the lecture to suit a student's needs. I took his class spring18 and couldn't find him again in fall18 or else I would have taken him again without a thought.
I took this class and was pleasantly surprised. He is one of the best math professors Ive had. He didnt make us memorize every formula like Ive experienced in prior math classes. He wanted us to know how to use them. As long as you go to lectures and actually do the homework its an easy class.
Professor Jensen is great, he explains the material well, he's funny (a rare trait among Math professors) and he's willing to go over stuff if you aren't getting it. His tests are difficult but if you do your homework and study well for them they shouldn't be anything in your way of getting an A.
Jensen is a wonderful choice for stats. He makes the material easy to understand and really tries to make sure that everyone is following. Attendance isn't mandatory but it is very easy to get left behind. I had his class at 7:30 am and he taught well enough that I was able to stay awake throughout the whole class.
he is such a nice professor and will help you if you have trouble with homework. he is patient towards everyone and cares about his students.
The class was very easy as Jensen took the time to thoroughly explain concepts and answer any questions that anyone had. Homework is fairly light and tests were pretty easy as he would give the formulas instead of having us memorize it which I found nice. Just show up to class everyday, listen to the lectures, do the homework, and you'll get an A.
Math has not always been my friend but professor Jensen really helped me understand. As long as you do the homework and ask questions when you feel lost you can pass this class. Jensen took his time and I did not feel super rushed through the material.
His teaching style didn't work for me personally, but might work for some. My class was one of his smaller classes and was transitioned to online because of COVID-19. He was always available for questions during normal lecture times.
Best math instructor I've had. His tests are like the math problems he assigns. His lectures go over problems from the book, which I found really helpful to watch him walk through various problems. When we had to transfer online he was very hands on and responsive to emails and questions
Best math prof I ever had! He always makes sure you understand basics before going into the tough parts. Exams are short-answer problems but if you pay attention to his lectures, then they are tough but very understandable and you leave knowing more than you did coming into the class. Took him for two classes, loved both of them.
Easy to understand and takes his time to explain the chapters. Goes over problems that students didn't understand the next day and responds to emails quickly. Tells you how many problems from each chapter he's going to give on the exam and a formula sheet too. Class consists of homework and exams, the lowest exam score is replaced by the final.
Jensen is caring and nice in his taped lectures and the one office hour a week he presented. He will definitely make you work for an A. Lots of homework and hard tests. I wish he'd have more office hours, but he does weekly check-ins where you can ask a question or two and wait for his reply. Definitely take an easier teacher if you can.
Lectures videos are a max of 30-40 minutes each, but he teaches in a super clear and understanding way. He has a zoom meeting held once a week, but it's totally optional to go. It's mainly a chance for students to ask questions. Highly suggest taking him, you won't regret it.
I wish Jensen would be my math teacher for all my math classes. Super easy to understand and is available to help you whenever you are having trouble. No zoom classes instead he prerecorded all his lectures and does example problems. 4 exams and final. Test questions are like the hw problems he assigns. Highly recommend taking him!
This was a HARD class for me, as higher math isn't my strong suit, but Jensen explains everything very well. The powerpoints offered on the multimedia platform were more useful than the text to me. His office hours are super frequent and helpful if you're lost. Lastly, the course layout is extremely simple and the homework is hard, but straightfwd.
His class is fairly middle of the road when it comes to difficulty but he is so willing to work with you and help you if you're falling behind. He schedules specific zoom appointment with students struggling and makes clear instructional videos on each chapter. Well organized. I hate math but I like this class.
Professor Jensen is a brilliant teacher. His understanding of math is amazing. He cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. He gives out detailed study guides for exams and the homework is graded on completion. He makes a difficult subject easy to understand. I would highly recommend taking his class if you have the opportunity to.
Started online, then moved to in-person classes. I recommend him because I didn't feel overwhelmed by the workload, and I thought he had a compassionate approach to teaching. I liked his lectures, and he was very helpful whenever I got confused. Homework problems have answers in the back of the book. Five exams, one with notes. Take him for precalc
Professor Jensen is amazing! He is so helpful, his lectures are incredibly detailed, and he is very kind. What is expected each week is very clear. You definitely need to put work into this class, but it'll be worth it. Study, study, study for the exams. He is the best!
I am a father of two children under 3. Wayne Jensen worked with my schedule, allowed me to make up assignments, and worked with me outside of the classroom to ensure I was learning the curriculum. He cares more about your learning than his power in the teacher-student dynamic. Very humble, amazing professor AND human.
This is a professor you SHOULD take. Jensen is a very nice guy who does a lot to ensure all his students succeed. The class is very typical for a math class but it is his personality that makes the class entertaining at times. Much work is required, but a fair teacher is ideal in college. Homework is also graded on effort which is very helpful!
great teacher, provides plenty of resources and makes videos to help teach lessons. reesponds quickly to emails and questions, has tutoring sessions, curves tests and final grade.
Jensen wants you to succeed. I had a rough time with other classes and tended to turn in assignments late. I reached out explaining my struggles and Jensen completely understood and worked with me, giving full credit on all my work and even extra credit on some. Just a great guy overall and is always looking for ways to help.
Jensen knows his #1 job is student success. He is clear in his grading criteria, and provides opportunities for students to improve their grades. He teaches each topic using a variety of methods to resonate with different learning styles. Readings and videos are supplementary - show up to class and do the homework, and this class is very doable.
Professor Jensen makes this challenging class manageable. His engaging lectures, helpful resources, and willingness to work with students make this course very doable. unstuckstudy was a game-changer for my study prep.
I took his online 8-week summer course for STAT 300, and it was by far the easiest class I took this summer. The class was completely asynchronous and you could finish the class as fast as you'd like since the modules weren't locked. The class has a textbook but I mainly watched the lectures and took notes which didn't take much time & helped a lot
He wants you to succeed. I took this class a while back, and it was really simple. I had difficulties accessing coursework for a while, but he was understanding and helped me throughout the process. He cares about your learning and is a nice professor.
