Professor Wang is an orginized and thorough teacher, which makes her lectures easy to follow. If you do your homework throughout the week, you will do fine on your quizzes and tests! Quizzes are on Fridays, right after a quick review, and will have similar problems as the ones given in the homework. Als she is always happy to answer any questions!
First, her quiz is very easy, almost everyone gets perfect score. In addition, her lecture is so clear. Last, she grades everything so fast.
I took her Calculus III (Math 153) class in Spring 2015. She is one of the best math teachers i have ever had. She has quizzes every week and tests every 2-3 weeks. She rushes the material but the material isn't too difficult. She always ends class 10-20 minutes early. Make sure to stay after class to ask her questions! She gives a lot of good tips
Super nice teacher, always willing to help students one on one or as a class. Quizzes every Friday (reviews topics before each quiz) and test every three weeks (cheat sheet allowed). only a little bit of homework (was collected after three weeks) teaches in a simple and easy to learn manner. Would recommend taking her
Her lecture are so clear, you dont need to worry you will fail in her class
I loved this professor! I was expecting precalc to be a lot more difficult, but she taught us it in a way that was easy and simple to understand. The homework load is very little (to get a good grade to other problems yourself) which was amazing. Sometimes it's hard to understand lectures, but the notes and textbook are wonderful with explanations
She is a great teacher. She knows what is she doing and gives extra credit. I would suggest to take her.
Probably the best math teacher I've ever had. On top of being really clear with her lectures, she spends a day reviewing for exams which can be really helpful. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the material can go by pretty fast so show up. I would recommend sharing a math book with someone else since you only need it for homework problems.
First teacher I had at BC. She was awesome. She spends 30-40 mins lecture then the rest you have question time. For my class she showed up late sometimes but it was fine. If you try in this class and study it should be really easy there was almost no homework and the class was very well layed out.
Wen Wang is one of the nicest professors I've had at BC! She's so helpful, but sometimes it became unclear what she was teaching in class because of her accent and how fast she taught. But her quizzes and final were super easy, I'd definitely recommend taking her!
She's a great math teacher, but I had to use the textbook for help sometimes since she goes through lectures fast but they are still understandable. Goes over what's going to be on the (short and easy) quizzes the day before them and EXACTLY what's on the final. No midterm, really nice, helps when you need it and I passed with an easy A. Take her!
Professor Wang is absolutely lovely! At first, I found her lectures to a bit too fast, but I got used to them rather quickly. They're very concise and to the point. She gave us weekly quizzes, two midterms and a final. She also told us exactly what would be on all of them and gave us practice problems too. Can't wait to take her for MATH153!
She was really nice and i really did well in her class! Take her if you can!
AMAZING teacher, very helpful, and good class structure. Like previous comments said, she basically tells you exactly what's on the quizzes and tests, so you know what to study. Makes calculus as easy as possible. Always struggled with math, but got an A in this class.
Wang is a really good teacher. Her classes are just lectures, and she's really straight forward with everything she teaches. She doesn't mind a student being tardy. There is a short quiz every week, pretty easy. Also, on exams which are about every three weeks are easy, she allows a one page cheat sheet. Quizzes & exams are only things she grades.
This class was super easy, she goes over everything that would show up on the tests. If you're looking for some in depth lectures do not take her because she's very brief on her lectures but she covers everything that would be shown on quizzes and test, and her tests/quizzes are super easy
She was great! She is super thorough in her lectures and will give you all of the notes you need in order to study. She also tells you exactly what will be on the quizzes and tests. Also go to class so you can get good notes and get extra credit opportunities.
Best class I've ever taken at BC. Honestly if you fail with Wen Wang you're just stupid. Make sure you never skip before test.
She is very good math teacher. I study a lot in her math 152 class. It is very easy to get A in her class.
Wen Wang is a great professor, shes always answering questions and has a very clear way of teaching things. Quizzes and HW are very easy as she literally tells you how to solve the problems the day before. My only problem with her is the curveballs she throws on exams, at times she will put questions in that she did not go over a lot in class.
Wen is a very good professor, and she is very friendly. I study a lot in her Math 152 and 153. I think it is so easy to get A in her class because the quiz and test are easy and it is same to the homework problem. Her class has 7 quizzes, 2 midterms, and 1 final. I think it is impossible to fail or get bad grades in her class!!
Ms. Wen Wang was my instructor for this quarter. Bz of the summer quarter, the course a bit heavy. Most of the time we have to study 2 lessons per day. Ms. Wang made everything easier for us, she had a clear way to teach students. Sometimes she went over new lectures a bit fast, I am ok with that though. Don't skip any classes, you will be fine.
She makes calculus a lot easier to understand, and teaches it in such an easy way that you won't forget it for future classes. There are 7 quizzes that she helps you review for the day before, and a midterm and final that she goes over. You still have to work for it, so don't slack off. The class average was consistently good for the tests
Wen is a great professor. Her workload is not a lot since there's only 3 homework assignments. She teaches something different everyday and makes it super easy to understand. She gives you example problems before weekly quizzes and helps you get ready for every test. Both are very easy if you pay attention.
Favorite math teacher at BC! She truly wants to help all her students succeed and does everything to help you! 7 quizzes total, lowest gets dropped. Three homework assignments due and a few tests/midterms. Before the quiz day, she gives similar problems and practice problems from book to study. Book is not required, but I bought it and has helped!
Best math teacher I've ever met!! I got 2 F before retake math 151 with her, I'm super bad at math and I never thought one day I can get an A-... And if I didn't skip the worksheet day I will get an A. Recommended for every math idiot like me.
Easily one of the best math teachers at bc. She made calculus so easy. Her explanations were super clear and whenever I or someone had a question, she answered it really well without making anyone feel bad about it. She literally tells you what will be on the weekly quizzes so no stress about those, and she told all the questions on exams & final
if you do the work and learn the material, you'll pass the class. she's very straightforward and professional and will help you out if you ask her. she never took attendance but the material is easy to learn from the textbook. great teacher, 10/10 recommend
Wen is the most organized I've ever had. Her lectures are straight to the point and she grades fairly easy. Not to mention, she's helpful and approachable. I would strongly recommend her class.
She teaches calculus in such a clear and easy way that its almost difficult to get a truly bad grade on her quizzes. She has two midterms, one final, and 6 weekly quizzes. If you attend all the lectures, the quizzes should be a breeze. However, she tends to throw curveballs on exams. Only three homework assignments were assigned for the quarter.
Wen is a sold choice for a math professor, especially grading wise. She only has a couple homework assignments so you need to do way more practice problems than she assigns to get a good grade. She does not go in depth for calculus so it might put you at a disadvantage for further math courses. She has great lectures and is very organized.
Very logical flow in lectures; it's easy to see the material and take notes. Not much homework, so be prepared to do tutorials or extra problem sets on your own to reinforce the concepts. Perfectly clear grading criteria, and very friendly at answering questions. EVERY teacher should aim to be like Ms Wang.
Very knowledgeable professor. Minimum homework so be ready to use the textbook to reinforce concepts by yourself. She prepares you very well for all her midterms except for the final. The last exam is extremely difficult and she is commonly known for making it easy up until the very end.
She is really nice and great at explanation. I usually learn well while listening lectures rather than studying alone so her lectures are so clear and helpful. There are quizzes on every week but she gives practice problems prior and it is not that hard. She also does detailed review of the test before hand. I really enjoyed her class.
Wen was awesome. She answered questions throughout the class. Her quizzes, homework assignments, and practice problems helped prepare for all exams. I liked how she went over the exam format - exactly what types of problems to expect. The final exam was tougher than the midterms, but it was fair game. No notecards allowed, so memorize formulas!
Professor Wang is truly amazing. Her lectures, and expectations for assignments, weekly quizzes, and exams could not be clearer. She gives very little homework, explains very well, will always answer questions, and is very straightforward on what will be on the quizzes and tests. Put in a little effort and she will make you love math.
Wen Wang is the best professor ive had all year. There is minimal homework (5-25mins a day) and it is mostly graded on completion. Her expectations for quizzes and exams could not be clearer. She explains topics extraordinarily well and will always answer questions. If you want to prepare for Math 152 or higher, take Prof. Wangs Math 151 class.
I love professor Wang! Exams and quizzes are based on the notes and homework problems. Also, be aware of the example problems the she talks about before the exams or quizzes, they might be shown up on the exams or quizzes.
Wen is super sweet. She has a bit of an accent but it's not too difficult to understand. She clearly states what will be on her tests and quizzes. And homework is always due on test days so you have lots of time to finish it. Her lectures are clear and include tons of examples
im only in the middle of my quarter with Wen Wang and she is amazing! she answers all questions so well and is so kind. she explains concepts super well and shows all of her work and steps to help you learn. defenitely one of my favorite proffessors here!
Best math professor I've had. Very sweet and caring and listens to her students. Very flexible with hw/tests and good lectures. I enjoyed attending her class. Attendance/participation not mandatory. Minimal work for a high level class. There's a reason her class fills up so fast! HIGHLY recommend and would happily take her class again.
Professor Wang is a real gem - considering COVID, she recorded all lectures, was clear with expectations, and provided students with the test format prior to exams. Your grade is based on two assignments turned in prior to midterm/final, but easy if you work on it throughout quarter. Attend the class and put in the work, guaranteed you'll pass.
Wen is a great professor. She is a fair professor with clear criteria given for exams - she goes over what every question will be before the exam and basically only changes the numbers for the exam. Her grading is also fair and she gives points back if you approach her with clear reasoning as to why you were unfairly graded on a problem. A*for Wen
She does not accept late weekly worksheets. Takes five weeks to grade them. But overall, great teacher!
Prof. Wang is super nice. Students have questions, she addresses them. Weekly quizzes (few and simple questions), dropping the lowest quiz grade. Helped me learn many key concepts. Do prepare more for the tests as the coursework provided is significantly easier but still relates to the exam contents. Lectures recorded live & were accessible later.
Easy teacher. I took Pr. Wang for 152 and 153. She is really nice. Lectures are really important though so make sure you can attend them in order to understand the course materials. She is an easy grader and gives HW problems that are the same as her exams. I would definitely take her again
This is the best teacher ever. She made calculus really easy. there is a short worksheet due every thursday. There is a short quiz due every Friday. There are two assignments. Each assignment has about 35 problems from the textbook. One assignment is due the day of the midterm, the other is due the day of the final.
The best teacher I've ever had, I had her for MATH 151 (partly in-person Winter 2020) & 153 (online Summer 2020). She has an incredible gift for breaking down difficult concepts into digestible lectures, and I easily understood the content thanks to her. The final is notably more difficult than the midterms, but youll be fine if you pay attention.
I took calc 1 with her and she is literally the BEST, I got an A with her and Im horrible at math, she has a way of explaining math which makes a lot of sense, I will definitely take the rest of calc sequence with her. Her tests and quizzes are so easy and they are not protected and we barely had homework.
Wang is a super good prof, explains everything well and the lectures are all recorded. Quizzes each week are easy as long as you understand example problems and worksheet. Midterm and finals are harder, but she gives partial credit as long as you show all of your work!
Professor Wang is a solid professor. The workload is reasonable but also her Q&A sessions are extremely useful if you are struggling with the weekly worksheet or homework assigned. Lectures are easy to understand and are recorded if you can't attend the asynchronous sessions which is neat.
amazing professor, she is so understanding. i recommend attending every lecture and you can watch them asynchronously bc attendance is not mandatory. if you attend them all and take notes it is really easy to do well in her class. exams and quizes are not proctored.
She is a great teacher. However, I won't encourage to take her simply because she is known to be easy A. She grades by a few things and you can easily find yourself in a bad situation. I took her for both math 152 & 153. Her lectures tend to be summarized. Quiz can be tricky sometimes too. exams are straightforward and usually form book, quiz, hw
Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you skip class you will fail. Prof. Wang is a great lecturer, but this class is definitely harder than 151 & 152. Even if you breezed by those ones, this will be challenging. The lectures are fast paced, but if you ask her to go back and clarify she will. Great class even though I almost failed.
Two exams, two sets of homework, and weekly quizzes, all with straightforward questions covered in the textbook/in class. Lectures are very clear, optional QnA sessions are helpful. Accommodating as well for those who needed to test early to make graduation + recorded her lectures for those who can't attend live.
Overall, this class wasn't hard or easy. There are weekly quizzes and homework, but they are not extremely time-consuming. However, her lectures and notes can be difficult to understand. The final and midterm are worth the majority of your grade, but she curves grades.
Passing is very manageable, but this course with this professor is a challenge if you aren't ready to teach yourself. Her content is very minimal effort, with no office hours outside of the Q&A. She is also very strict with grading. Despite this, professor Wang is also kind, and understanding.
The reviews from 2021 were deceiving. While Professor Wang isn’t a horrible teacher, she doesn’t really teach. It’s a self study class where most of my classmates learned through YouTube videos and the textbook. Almost no extra credit and quizzes were hit/miss. Not the worst math teacher ever but definitely leaves much to be desired.
If you can self study this class should be an easy A, she doesn’t give much outside help. Make sure to do HW early and use BigBlueButton for worksheet answers. Prof. Wang is overrated IMO, I thought this class was an easy A.
Not an easy professor. Her quizzes/exams are 10x more harder than the homework/what we learn. Her lectures are very unhelpful. However, she is willing to answer any questions and go over the worksheet. BUT I ended up learning nothing in this class and having to teach everything myself. Her tests are on paper and need to be printed out.
Pre-recorded lectures didn't explain the concepts as in-depth as needed for the exams. You're required to learn from the textbook for the first week since there aren't pre-recorded lectures for it. Worksheets and quizzes were easy, but the lectures don't prepare you for the homework and midterms/finals.
I originally left Wen Wang an unfair review, after throwing out emotions I realized that Wen Wang is a mid teacher. Wen Wang is not an easy A, it's easy to get an A only if you study and work hard. I have not learned from Wen Wang but I also felt as if weekly exams had left a lot of stress and pressure on students. Fast-paced class.
I am actually so confused by all of these good reviews. I am taking her right now and she is the worst professor ever. Constantly feel so lost. I missed one question on a quiz and it dropped my grade 4%.
She is a good professor, and she records some good lectures for student. Quizzes are easy and the exams are relatively fair. As long as you watch her lectures, it should be an easy A class.
Wen is a good teacher. Her class recordings are clear and organized and she explains subjects very well. If you do the HW and worksheets you'll do well in the exams.
Overall, Professor Wang was a pretty easy professor. I had her during summer quarter, and she posted prerecorded video lectures every week along with a weekly quiz (which were mostly straightforward). The midterm and final were fair, however the short time limits did get the best of me a few times. Professor Wang does grant a little extra credit.
This Professor is really good. Her grading is clear, she is nice, and this class is average difficulty for a math class. Her lectures aren't that good but the other good traits I mentioned make up for it.
She is to Bellevue College Mathematics like Michael Jordan was to the Chicago Bulls. Her lectures are very easy to follow and she does not give out too much work outside of class. One thing I will say is that if you do not like reading through lectures, then maybe she is not for you. Absolute angel of a professor 10/10 would take again
Weekly worksheets and quizzes. Thorough explanations and will always explain the worksheets and quizzes after completed. Clear expectations all around the board. The worksheets are like the quizzes that are like the midterm. Quite helpful when asked and highly knowledgeable. Took her in-person and highly recommend.
Prof Wang is a good teacher who structures her class clearly and you won't be surprised by anything. Your grade reflects how much you really studied. Don't procrastinate and you'll ace the class. Weekly quizzes that you study for in-class carry most of your grade. EVERYTHING is open-note including exams.
For online classes, little to no homework, very clear test questions that will be told to you beforehand. Very easy class, especially if you already know a bit of content from AP calculus BC or self studying.
I loved Professor Wang for both classes I took her for. She is kind, organized, and has good lectures. Evaluation EC points.
She recorded self-made lectures and end-of-quarter EC points for evaluation feedback. Slow to respond to emails (or doesn't even at all), but there were weekly office hours. I would take it again since the class was easy to manage and organized.
Solid lectures. Accessible and easy to learn. Content is difficult, but Wen Wang was a big help. Midterms and finals had their format accessible to students, so studying for them was easy. Responsive and direct. 100% would take her again.
lectures make difficult content pretty easy to understand, & there's review worksheets of almost exactly what will be on midterms + a sheet of paper of notes on the final. Only complaint is sometimes the homework website has more difficult questions that related to homework, but weren't taught exactly. Overall great class, prof, & clear guidelines
Wonderful structure, you usually learn two sections every week which is so doable. Exams are exactly like the exam reviews she puts out. The only thing to be worried about are the quizzes. Even missing one question on one quiz can tank your grade. They are on canvas online so do what you can to get 100% on them. Great class though.
I found the course lectures really well organized and easy to understand. The test review sheets tell you exactly what to study for and the homework leaves you well prepared. However, the professor can be a slow grader when it comes to homework and worksheets so it's hard to see where your grade will stand until the end of the quarter.
Took her MATH153 and 254 at t
Both Calc 3 & Calc 4 have been amazing. The courses are laid out clearly on Canvas with well organized materials, thorough videos, and clear due dates. I've found clear design is LITERALLY EVERYTHING for online classes. The weekly check-ins are very helpful to drop into (as needed), and I always felt like I could ask questions.
Tool Calc 4 with her, and she is amazing teacher. Her videos aren't the best, but using her homework and using YouTube videos will be more than enough to get an A. Her tests are pretty easy and the review worksheets prepare you really well for the tests. Overall, 10/10.
Great teacher with easy to follow lectures and notes (even though the lecture were low quality sometimes). Provides clear study guides for exams with similar questions.
The class is structured well and the homework is relatively short and easy. Midterms and Finals are easy to study for as the review is nearly identical to the exams. She does not grade anything until the exam time though, so you do not actually know what your grade looks like until after each midterm and the final. Other than that, would recommend.
When I had her I did not like her at all. The homework would be easy, and then the midterms would be completely unrelated and full of difficult and confusing problems that we hadn't practiced. Her notes were very hard to follow and the final exam had an average of 58%. I would not recommend her at all, made learning hard.
Amazing professor and goes out of her way to make sure that you have everything accessible to you in order to succeed. One thing that sucks about her class is the time frame for exams as she gives you about 4-5 problems to complete in 40mins but her exam practice sheets prepare you for the worst. Would take her again and 100% recommend her!
This was the perfect asynchronous class. I don't think I've ever had an asynchronous teacher for math do lectures this well. They are short, easy to digest, and well structured. The weekly workload was also very light (1-2 short assignment per week with 2 lectures), and study guides for exams were exactly the same as the exam itself. No surprises.
Great if youre employed; there is about 2 assignments/lectures each week, which are super easy, too. If you dont have enough time for her lectures, she provides online notes, as well. Practice exams are identical to the midterms. Wish she teached linear algebra, too!
Great Teacher, really clear study guides. Use the study guides and you will be good on the exams
all these reviews blinded me, going into this course I was expecting pretty much what others had mentioned, but throughout the course I came to the realization that the lectures became harder to understand and the homework on the website felt completely random and long. On top of all this, the midterms/tests bring your grade down a ton
Prof Wang is excellent. Lectures were not very long but very helpful. Worksheets were easy and very similar to lecture examples. Easy to do good on quizzes if you watch lectures/review worksheets. In-person tests had clear study guides and similar to worksheet and lecture problems.
Prof. Wang clearly cares about her students - she provides good notes and study guides to prepare you for the quizzes and the tests. The homework and the weekly worksheets are pretty much free points as long as you turn them in on time.I felt I was well prepared for the final.
I could understand most of the work with the content provided and didn't have to go to office hours, which she had as a scheduled weekly online meeting. Very understanding and gave back a point on a quiz when requested because I mistyped a digit on an answer.
Amazing teacher; workload is light (2 onlinelectures a week), easily accessible, gives test questions before tests, and a very understanding person. Only complaints are that the lectures are never clear on what we're supposed to takeaway and study for on the exam. I wish that she was more straightforward and gave problems relating to the test.
She is a good professor, her lectures are ok and she gives out study guides for the exams. Why I didn't give her a 5 star: she does not reply to emails, does not hand your test back (so you never know what you got wrong), grades a bit late, midterms only have 50 minutes, & sometimes throws a curveball in the exams (questions with weird wording).
She's a kind person but contrary to my expectations, NOT a nice grader at all. I don't think there's partial credit, at least I wouldn't know because she does not show you the graded texts, so you just gotta take her word for it and hope she doesn't make a mistake. Oh and there's absolutely zero extra credit, & she doesn't reply to your emails.
