Very experienced person in the medical field. Lots of great stories and "bonus information." If you are a pre-nursing student you should definitely take this class if you can.

This class was fully online so her lectures were recorded, but they were informational. Homework breakdowns every week, SOAP notes, discussions every once in a while, and video pronunciations every once in a while. HIGHLY recommend getting a pdf of the book so it's easy to search for what you need. Barely any extra credit but I didn't need it

There is a lot of homework but this professor is very understanding and organized. Lectures are very good and understandable. I like this professor because she makes sure you understand the material well.

This professor is genuine and really cares about all her students! Her lectures are easy to understand and gives lots of practice! The lecture pretty much gives you the info you need to know but the book helps a lot getting A's on the assignments. If you have taken all your science classes already like myself, super easy A!

She was an awesome professor and I would 100% take a class again with this professor. She was super helpful and gave feedback on almost EVERY assignment. She was very clear on what she wanted done and gave a lot of resources and video links when necessary.

This class definitely taught me a lot and all of that had to do with this professor. If you do your work you'll be fine. She does use proctorio for her tests. She assigns textbook chapters (fairly short) and also lecture videos. Lots of memorizing but also many resources to help. Make sure to take notes on everything.

With many classes, I feel like the teacher works against you in your learning process, and I never got that impression from Wende. I appreciated that Wende genuinely wanted her students to succeeded and offered positive feed back with every homework assignment. Wende was understanding and accommodative.

I loved her so much. Had an online class, so in person might be different. She is engaging and funny during lectures (not a lot). The homework/exams are not difficult and I am applying what I learned outside of class. She also gives us frequent announcements, which is like the bare min. for online profs. I didn't email, so no feedback.

Very straightforward, fair professor

Wende Fortner was my absolute favorite professor this semester. She sends out constant feedback on all work, provides flashcards and abbreviations sheets, and overall she is a very caring person who wants to see her students pass. Every week there are 4 hw assignments and a quiz. 4 discussion boards, 4 pronunciation videos and a midterm/final.

Professor Fortner's Medical Terminology class taught me so much in just one semester. Even though this class was online, we still had plenty of assignments and tests to do with plenty of time to complete and study for them. I recommend anyone who is majoring in medicine to take her class.

This professor is amazing. Although the class was online the professor still put in a lot of effort to provide feedback for each and every assignment. I really recommend this professor.

Love Professor Fortner this class was not really hard, the homework was always due Sunday which gave you a week to finish it and it wasn't hard. Her lectures are always straight to the point and usually never go over an hour but you do have to watch them as she drops quiz questions in them. Would 1000% take her again.

For her online class, you get a whole week to turn in your assignments so the hours are easy to work with. She has a few lecture videos per week which you have to watch because there are specific questions that you need for the quiz. She usually gives 4 homework assignments a week and a quiz. She is easy to communicate with and the class is fun.

Overall just a great teacher. She makes it so easy to understand what she's talking about and breaks things down. Just memorize your terms, watch lecture, and you'll get that easy A.

Professor Fortner was great. Her grading is fair, and she gives very helpful feedback when returning assignments. There was a lot of classwork every week, however it did not feel gratuitous or like dead-work; it all actually served a purpose. Her quizzes are quite cut-and-dry too; as long as you listen to the lectures you will be fine.

Professor Forner is great! The workload seems heavy at first, but if you watch the short lectures and follow along with the textbook, there is no way to fail. Studying's required to get an A, however, the material's easy to follow. Professor Fortner provides great feedback on assignments. If you put in the time and effort, you'll earn the grade!

Great instructor, has many years in the field to give you life stories and examples. She is understanding and wants you to succeed and gives great feedback and encouragement. She also makes it light with funny comics through out the class. I would take her again and getting an A in the class is achievable by keeping up with the assignments.

I underestimated the work load of this class, but dont let that stop you! The class was extremely interesting and I learned a lot from it. Professor Wende is the professor to go to; shes extremely helpful and teaches content in a way that its easier to understand.

Wende was a great professor! This is actually my third time taking her, and I really enjoy the depth that she goes into in all of her lectures. I overestimated the workload for this class and had a really easy time understanding the material, but I would say that studying and watching the lectures is very important.

If you study and listen to lectures carefully, you will get an A+. You need to be careful with spelling because it counts. JUST take her, you will not regret.

Professor Fortner is a great professor overall! Her class does require a book. She has good lectures which are easy to follow. As long as you do what the directions say for each assignment you will receive an A. Spelling matters so study the Quizlet or flashcards.

Professor Wende is great! The homework load at first seems like a lot, but once you get the hang of it its really not that much. watch the lectures, read the book and you should do just fine.

Professor Fortner has amazing lectures in where she truly cares about explaining each term or image and doesn't just read off the textbook. She has plenty of resources available such as a tutor and a quizlet link for each unit so you can study and do better. Overall amazing professor and amazing class!

Fortner is an amazing instructor. Took in person/online. Quizzes from lecture in beginning of in person class with exception of few online quizzes. Mid term and final both online. Just watch the lectures she posts and you will pass the class just fine. Homework every week was very easy. Everything needed to pass is provided.

Teaching style was really helpful. This class was taken online and her grading system was fair. There was only two tests during this entire course. If you do your assignments you will have no problem passing the weekly quiz's. If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.

She is honestly one of the best professors I have come across with at Sierra. She is so kind and fun. Everything from her was fair game. She has quizlets already made for you so you can study for the quizzes. I have nothing bad to say about her. If you are going to take her, PLS DO. She is wonderful.

Took Medical Terminology this semester with Professor Fortner, 10/10 recommend. She's very clear on what she expects for assignments and tests. Each week you read a chapter, watch video lectures, do 4-5 homework assignments and take a quiz. Doesn't take a lot of time if you do assignments correctly. She was amazing!

Professor Wende is amazing! She was very thorough, and so kind! She spent quality time grading and commenting on each of my assignments whether I missed some answers or got 100%. There is exams instead of a big final and midterm, with some discussion posts and then homework on the lectures. But it isn't difficult or taxing and everything you learn is actually useful. If you plan on taking this class during high school, I really enjoyed it but just make sure you have enough time after school/throughout your weeks to really get the material down, as I had a packed schedule balancing high school, job, and this college class. Other than that, it's an easy class with a passionate teacher.

Amazing Professor! She made this 8-week course super manageable! Very well structured, consistent due dates, and optional assignment retakes. She also provides a Quizlet link for each chapter, and if you use the learn tab, you will know all of the information! 19 units this semester, and this was my easiest, most straightforward class! Easy A!

Professor Hargrove is definitely one of my favorite professors that I've had so far! She is tech savvy and makes her weekly modules fun. It may seem like there is a lot of homework and assignments, but they are short and super helpful for the exams. Her online lectures aren't crazy long which is nice too. Super Cool Professor! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I would definitely recommend taking Ms. Hargrove for any class, especially medical terminology. Was undoubtedly the best online class I have ever taken. Everything is very organized and all the weeks have a very similar structure. It becomes a lot easier once you get into the groove of completing all the assignments.

Professor Hargrove is great. The class is on-line, but she is very accessible and answers emails promptly. The class is very straight forward and I wish other classes like A&P were like this one. If you do the assignments and study for the exams, you will do very well. I would definitely take Professor Hargrove for another class.

Professor Hargrove's teaching style and format for the class makes it great to take online but still get all of the same course content that you would elsewhere or in an in person class. Expectations are clear and all assignments for the week are posted the week prior to being due.

I took Prof. Hargrove's online medical terminology class after being semi-referred her name by a counselor and it was AMAZING!! I can't recommend her class enough. She's engaged when giving lectures and gives extra info that's not on slides of her presentations (& you can tell she knows what she's talking about)! She wants her students to succeed.

Wende Hargrove knows her subject. She teaches with efficiency and clarity. The best thing about her style was the timely response to grades. very straight forward. Every week you read two chapters, 1 quiz for each chapter, and some word building/lab type assignments. The only challenge may be the pronunciation HW where you meet with a pass peer and pronounce about 5 medical terms/wood roots. hard fitting this in my schedule since you have to find a time to meet with the pass peer.

Really great professor with straightforward curriculum and criteria. Eight-week course has no more than 2 hours of lecture each week with some supplemental material. HW and exams are quick and easy if you review the book and lectures. Professor is well versed in course material. A great introduction to body systems and word roots/elements.

Professor Hargrove is hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. Her class is easy to follow and she is clear about her expectations. The course is lecture-heavy, but as long as you stay the course and manage your time accordingly, you will succeed in this course. I would definitely any course that Professor Hargrove is teaching!

I recommend Mrs.Hargrove to anyone that is interested in taking medical terminology. She is really great at explaining how to break down and define words. Also, she is very nice and sometimes cracks jokes that are very funny. Homework is really easy to understand, but memorizing the definitions to the word root can be difficult at times. :)))

Wende was super helpful. The 8-week felt like a 5-credit class. Closed book exams on lockdown browser, lots of homework, quizzes, and reading but it's not too bad because it is a good way of memorizing all the terms. This class reminded me a lot of anatomy and physiology. You learn a lot and broaden your knowledge. Don't take with a 5-credit class!

She is joyous, knowledgeable and will make sure that you learn everything with heart. Her lectures are split into 10-11mins of time. That makes it easier to be focus and not to bore of the content. Her lecture style is so informative with her experience of being a nurse that you feel like listening to them again and again. Go for her!!

I love her. Her class will be easy to pass if you study hard enough to know all the medical terms and to remember what has been taught to you over the weeks. Memorizing all the vocabulary was annoying but if you prioritize actually understanding it the tests are going to be no problem. I would def recommend her.

There is no final or midterm. I found this really helpful and it helped me keep my grade up. It's mostly one video lecture a week and then the rest is homework you can do at your own pace which I enjoy.

Professor Hargrove is such an amazing person inside and out, you can tell that she cares about teaching and has a passion of the subject in which she teaches. If you do your homework, and use her other resources (Quizlet, Knowt,etc) the exams are a breeze. Although there is a good load of homework, it is not hard, just make sure to pay attention.

I absolutely loved med term with Hargrove! She is super down to earth and approachable, and you can tell she really loves her job and cares for her students. The class itself is pretty homework heavy, but once you get the basics down it's a breeze. I'd strongly recommend ANY course with Hargrove and I'll miss this class!!

Professor Hargrove has been a super great/easy professor, never had trouble understanding criteria or lectures. A lot of information to take in, however, she gives you a lot of resources, fun extra videos at the end of each chapter. Everything you learn in her class is very helpful, and none of it is useless. Definitely study the hell out of the medical term sheet and the abbreviation list. They seriously make a huge difference and I swear it'll help you break things down and actually understand the content instead of just memorizing random words. It make everything a lot easier to learn and stick in your head.
