Wendi is WONDERFUL!!! She is very through, and clear. She is very fun she ought our class Krispy Kreme's
I am NOT good at math but Wendi made it clearer than anyone sense. I got a B in her 97 class and a D+ in 98 (taught by Atkins). Yikes.
Excellent prof! Very helpful and willing to take time out of her own schedual to help students! She calls herself a free tutor if you need help. If your not a fan of math TAKE IT FROM HER
I really enjoyed my class with Wendi. She turned what seemed difficult into something that was in a simple form. I recommend anybody who has a hard time in math to take her class.
Pathetically easy class, HORRIBLE TEACHER. If you want an A, take her. If you want to learn, don't.
She is a very nice proffesor! She teaches by giving you examples. She will give an example on the board, then another one, then moves on instead of actually explaining how to do it.She goes sorta fast but she is very nice and will always help you if you have questions. I was worried at first but i ended up gettin an A- and im not the best at math.
I love Wendi! She is nice and very clear
Very easy teacher. Good syllabus that really helps you stay organized. Easy tests...not the best at lecture or clarity as she uses a lot of terms she makes up like "grabber point," and the way she lectures doesn't flow very well.
Wendi is EXCELLENT -prepared, organized, fun, nice, clear notes. Takes as much time as needed to explain things. I never understood math like I did with her. Uses easy to understand language rather than *math* language. Always available for help outside of class. One of the best professors at Whatcom. I got an A! Recommend her to all. THANKS WENDI!
Shes a great teacher but alot of tests adn homework
She didn't explain what she wanted at all. I don't recomend her.
Wendi is the most helpful teacher I have ever had. I was ok in math before, but now i really like it. Since we had 7 quizzes and tests (total) we had room to mess up, and correct with extra credit.THXS(here's your chili pepper wendi!)
I thought she was unprofessional with not bringing her own book to class and depriving one of the students who paid full price not only to attend, but purchased a book.I also found her to be totally over the top with the amount of assigned problems per night. Some are expected, that's ridiculous.
Grades things fast. She always goes over the homework and answers any questions you have. Made some difficult work a lot easier than it could have been. She's a great teacher and i would take her again.
She is a very nice person, but seemed a little unavailable. She doesn't use email at all. (Difficult for other people in this day and age.) You must meet with her after class or during her office hours which are limited. Quizzes are as difficult as the 4 exams she gives out. She randomly collects a day's homework assign. which can be frustrating.
Wendi is FANTASTIC! She really understands the demands on a student... is always student friendly and happy to meet for extra help. Grading is fair and exams returned quickly. Funny, patient and easygoing!! I recommend her to anyone with low confidence in math. A++++
Her tests are easy and she's great at making sure all if not most of her students understand. She's funny and open to ideas. Great first college class experience.
Wendi is an awesome teacher!! Her calc class was great, easy to understand, always came to class prepared, spent as much time going over homework and concepts as you needed. Makes sure class is fun and positive and takes interest in her students. Tests are challenging, but ec makes them worth it. WENDI ROCKS
Wendi was really great about taking as much time as needed to go over any homework problem or test question, this is rare to find and really helps the content sink in. She was cheerful and prepared, Don't have anything bad to say, would definatly recommend and take more classes from her!!
when you understand teh material and ask deeper questions she does not really know her material. Not great for the better student. Excellent for students who like to be babied and spoon fed. Very unchallenging.
She has a love for teaching that is difficult to match. She loves her students and wants them to succeed. You need to do the homework, and you need to take notes, but if you do that, you can walk away with an A.
Extremely helpful. No one has ever been able to get me to understand math, except for this lady here.
Has made me understand math!! Finally
Homework is assigned every day that there is no test and is collected once per week on a previously undisclosed day, so if she collects homework early in the week, homework is optional until next week, which is nice when trying to make time for everything else.
Quirky and fun, really knows her stuff, do the homework everyday and it is an easy A
Wendi knows the subject and teaches in a way that keeps all students up to date as long as you are willing to ask questions. She goes quickly, but it is only a 50 minute class. I personally would prefer if we spent less time going over the previous nights homework in class, but I do see that it helps to do so, it's just that there is so little time
Wendi is awesome. She really breaks down and simplifies math. Not only was her good humor a plus, but she stresses the fact that she is available to personally tutor us during her office hours (which she has a lot of). I am already wishing she was teaching math 130 because I could use some help and she is just SO approachable.
Wendi is a good teacher. She does go fast and was a little intimidating. She does however explain everything well, and breaks down steps well. She is willing to help, and it is also a very independent class. Do the homework, show up to class, and participate. You will do good.
Absolutely awesome. I always hated math, but enjoyed going to her class. Don't be afraid to ask questions, she's is very helpful and will take as much time needed to explain things.
Very bad teacher. She missed 3 days in a row then rushed through the rest of the course. She doesn't care if students learn she just rushes through the material. Not helpful al all
This is my 3rd quarter with Wendi...she rocks! She had a European flu this quarter & did everything she could to keep the class going. She could barely speak one day and still did her best to teach us. I went to the math lab & worked with others in my class while she was ill. Take responsibility for your own education! Stuff happens!
Its true, wendi did get sick and missed a couple of days, but when she came back she made sure that we all got back on track, she even re-established our semester outline. shes friendly, approachable, respectful, funny, and a great teacher.
Wendi was a great teacher. I feel she is given a bad rep. She will go above and beyond to help you, but she also encourages you seek other help as well. I would recommend her to other students as she helped me a lot. Tons of extra credit opportunities!
Wendi is a fabulous prof. She will go way out of her way to make sure everyone understands and has a great homework system. I highly suggest her class for anyone who is a visual learner, as she uses the board everyday.
Wendi, is a great teacher. She comes to class organized and presents the material in a way everyone will understand. She also bends over backwards to help you out shall you need it.
She took constant vacations that left us behind, she was NEVER responsive to emails or phone calls and she seemed to think that racing through lessons in front of a confused class is "teaching".I think I might be off track to enter the RN prog. because of what I consider to be her substandard abilities and lack of devotion as an educator. Stay Clear
Wendi is an awesome teacher. Yes, she HAD to speed through the lessons it was a 3hr/2night summer class. It was also hard to follow along with her only because my brain usually shut off after 7pm. She gives you everything you need in her lectures so take good notes and make sure you do all of the homework. She loves teaching. Highly recommend!
SUMMER quarter = hard and fast! Wendi missed ONE day, hired a sub, and still took time to go over the material when she returned. Thanks Wendi. She is dedicated and continually extends herself in the classroom, wanting everyone to succeed. The best notes. DEFINITELY recommend her. Her passion is infectious. You sniveling, whiners need to grow up!
shes awesome
Failed math before, didn't understand it, now I totally do. Just one quip - spends a lot of time going over homework in comparison to the actual lessons. Willing to meet outside of class a lot, though. Great teacher!
Wendi really cares about her students. I struggled with math and she goes into depth on topics. She answers students questions from the board. She writes exams and quizzes to make sure we do well. 14 out of 32 students didnt have to take the final because they had A's. Great teacher.
Wendi is FUN. Great teacher!!
Wendi was amazing. She is straightforward and clearly explains everything. She'll always answer your questions and help you when your struggling. She know's her stuff. I wish I could've taken all my math classes from her.
Very clear. She puts as much work into teaching as she expects us to. I would be a math major if she taught all the classes. Best math teacher I have had in higher education. Homework is collected randomly once a week. Lots of test and quizzes but they aren't hard if you do the work. Offers extra credit.
She is terrible. Her basic math skills are surprising we would have to correct her math and it made it hard to concentrate on what she said when im proffing her addition. Tried to embarass a girl for asking a good question. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
I took Math97 online with Wendy. She was so supportive and always available. She helped me get over my math anxiety. She provide lot things to learn from in the class. Offers extra credit. I will find a way to take a class with her again. She knows her stuff and how to teach it! PS. Wendy was recently married, you can see more reviews under Davis.
Wendi DiMond (used to be Wendi Davis) is a very good teacher! I loved math class! I used to suck at math but she really sparked a love for math in me. Better make it to class though cause she doesn't waste any time; she teaches at a fast rate throughout the week, but is very easy to follow! She knows her stuff!!
Wendi is an awesome professor. She jokes around and is always there to help. She will make sure you comprehend. She cares about her students doing well. I got an A and so did many many others.
Wendi is a great teacher! Highly recommended! She sets you up to pass the class. There is a study guide given for every test and quiz so you know what kind of problems to study. Attendence isnt taken so thats always a good thing! If you want a high grade in math along with a fun, nice teacher take Wendi!
Windi is outstanding very clear and willing to go back with you if you need it, and you might because she keep it movin so come to class ready to work and have fun doing it. Get it quick because she?s leaving and will be missed a bunch good luck in the future.
Wendi is a great teacher, very thorough and you can tell she cares. I have never been much of a math person but I ended up liking this class and got my first 'A' in math ever!
Wendi is an incredible math teacher. Her process for explaining math concepts is extraordinary. She doesn't take points away for missing days, but she has rewarded people for showing up on time. She can be very specific in correcting exams, but that might mean 1/2 point missed out of a five point answer. Awesome Professor!
Wendi is an amazing teacher. She worked in lots of TBA days if we got off track we would still have time to go over the material before the exam. She grade homework based on the problems that were completed, but she goes over any problems that students have questions about. If you have 93%+ after the last exam you don't have to take the final for.
Definately the best math teacher I have had. Recommend to anyone.
Great teacher, would recomend to anyone. Provides a little bit of EC opportunity and a chance to not take the final if you have an A going into it.
Great teacher, would recomend to anyone.
she breakes it all down step by step and is always asking if we undersatnd. she will go over the same thing multiple times untill we all understand. she makes the hard stuff less scary and she is very easy to talk to. i really enjoy her class.
Great teacher, she is very easy going and flexible.
She explains everything clearly all the time :)
Best math teacher I've ever had. I am taking Webber spring quarter for math 142 and am going from a straight A with Wendy quickly down to an F with Webber.
Best math teacher I've had so far. Does step-by-step problems on the board, and is ALWAYS clarifying any confusing parts. Take good notes and make sure you keep up on the homework and anyone can do well in her class. She gives reviews before test days and lays out exactly what to expect, it is so nice. She gives Xtra credit too, which always helps!
she explains everything;litteraly EVERYTHING, very clearly. she is also very helpful. best mathmatics i've have since grade school. I highly recommend this teacher to anyone, who is have had unfortunte history with math.
She was a very good teacher. She has the quarter all set up in the syllabus so you are noever surprised with quizzes or anything. Make sure you always do the homework and you will do fine in her class! Really good at explaining things and helping you with the homework the next day of class. Really enjoyed her class. Great teacher!
Wendy seemed stressed out and easily irritated and this made her intimidating at times.Felt like I would get in trouble if I asked too many questions and she moved too quickly to absorb the material taught. Always got excellent grades at college level math, so I'm thinkin'it's her.
She explains things very clearly. I would recommend her.
Took the online statistics class. Very helpful when needed. Everything is open book, which is helpful if you are not good at memorizing math symbols and such. Overall it was a pretty fair class.
Wendi was my math teacher for Algebra 2 and all around is an pretty good professor. I found her fairly unforgiving, but not unfairly or strictly so. She does collect homework once a week at a random time however, and dont think that just because its Tuesday you are safe. Fortunately if you run out of time on the tests, she gives more time.
Wendi is nice enough but I didn't find her very helpful.I have taken 2 math classes from her (both online) and I struggled miserably. Online math isn't a great idea for me; she may be a good teacher in person but online she's not great. Uses the book, gives some notes and a lot of links for websites. I would seriously consider the onine class.
She always does home-work problems in class which is very helpful. Doing home work and taking notes in class wil equal to A+. She doesn't surprise you on the test everything is very clear. Don't fall behind in the class, and don't miss any test or quiz days ( one is allowed, but then she takes points off) Amazing teacher who knows how to teach!!!!!
Great person and great teacher. Classes are spent going over homework and the next day's lectures. Will schedule "TBA days" which help her catch up, so she doesn't rush. Believes highly in fully understanding the concepts to understand the mathematics, and you'll be rewarded if you do. but she offers tutoring during office hours in learning center
The best instructor for math I've ever had. I got placed lower than I should have for math, but despite walking into the room thinking I already knew everything, I really learned a lot. She is very good at communicating and explaining. Also is very good at answering questions. Overall, an excellent math professor. I highly recommend her to anyone.
Wendi is a good teacher and always answers questions. She will even ask certain people if they are understanding it when they make confusing looks. Do your homework everyday and you will do fine on the tests.
Amazing teacher. She helped me so much and i received a 98% in class and didn't have to take my finals. I highly recommend Wendi Davis. She is such a great teacher.
Best math teacher ever! Just do what is stated on the syllabus and go to her classes (because I promise it will be harder to make sense of material by yourself). Also she is very nice and sweet as a person. If you want to love and understand math come to her class!
This is one awesome prof., she goes well above and beyond to help her students succeed. She makes herself totally accessible in the math lab every day, there's no better tutor than one's actual teacher. Miss Davis knows her subject well and has a drive and a passion for teaching others even if they're like me and have never gotten along with math.
Wendi is very passionate when it comes to teaching her subject and is totally accessible and open to one on one tutoring in the math lab after her classes. Her class wasn't easy for me as I've always had difficulty with math but she was determined that I know the subject matter before the quarter ended. I highly recommend Wendi for math classes.
Fantastic teacher, very helpful, loves her work and it shows. I recommend to anyone needing this class.
One of the best math instructors I have ever had. She really likes what she is doing. Recommend getting her early in math cycle and take her all the way through the math cycle.
Such an awesome math instructor. I have never been good at math, but Wendi has a way of making it all make sense. Took her for 97, 98, and 99 and passed all classes with an A. Highly recommend her for your math classes.
Wendi Davis is the by far the best math teacher I have ever had. I used to have math anxiety and thought I was just not a "math person". It was because of Wendi that I started to understand math and actually enjoy it! She spends office hours in the math lab to go the extra mile. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Wendi is one of the best Math teachers I have ever had. She is straight to the point about what she expects of you. She is also up front with her students about what to expect on quizzes and exams. Wendi also give's you multiple resources you can use besides her if you are not understanding her teaching technique. I recommend her to everyone.
Her instructions are crystal clear, she has a great way of explaining things making her lectures easy to follow. Attendance in her class = priority, she can cover a lot of information in each lecture. DO YOUR HOMEWORK in her class. Each test will be exactly what you practice in your homework. She will only allow ONE test reschedule so beware.
Great teacher, passionate about the subject. She is a no nonsense teacher that blows through the lecture and maybe has forgotten that this subject doesn't come naturally to everyone. You take a test each week, which are hard to finish in the allocated time-frame and difficult. I got an A, I like Wendi, but would't take another class from her.
Best math teacher at Whatcom ever. Willing to help with questions. Always available in Math Center. Lectures are clear and easy to follow. Great at explainingteaching new information. If you don't understand something, she'll take time to explain it so you do understand. Positive attitude and hilarious. 12 on a scale of 1-10. Fantastic teacher.
She was a good profesor but I think this quarter was not her best. My brother also had her and thought she was great but I was not quite as impressed. It is very important that you take notes on her lectures and if you do her homework you will probably do well. she was leaving soon and so she was not as dedicated to helping the class succed.
She's fabulous and very helpful, but 141 or PreCalc 1 is a hard class.
Wendi is really great! She only teaches one class, so she get all your assignments and quizzes back quickly. She's funny, and really easy to learn from. The class is difficult but it's fun and fast paced!
Wendi's teaching method is crystal clear. The material is tough if you are not math minded, but she makes it easier. Homework is not required, but unless you are a math wiz, I would be sure to do it. Tests are pretty straight forward. Show up, take notes, do the homework and you will do fine. Wendi is awesome. I would take her again.
Wendi started the quarter by saying that 4 days a week was not enough time for her to teach the class. From the first day of the quarter until I dropped the class (at the start of week 2), she seemed overwhelmed, rushed through the lessons without stopping for questions, giving no explanation or instruction, and gave NO notes. Not recommended.
Wendy is AMAZING! Her quizzes are basically tests. Study hard for everything, and she will coach you through it. Her lectures are clear, take lots of notes, go for help. I can't imagine anyone not doing the homework and passing this class. I got a solid A, but had to work hard for it. Wendy is an absolutely amazing instructor! I would take again!!!
Wendi was a terrific professor. Very upfront about what the expectation was, always available for questions and to offer help. Would take a class from her again no questions.
Wendi Davis is AMAZING. I took math 99 with Jessica Conner (do not take her) and I was heavily struggling late into the quarter. One day I met Wendi and I became her pupil to tutor because I really wanted to pass 99. She sat down with me an hour or so everyday for almost 3 weeks leading up to finals. I owe my life to this woman she is incredible.
Seems like people either love her or she's just not for them. She just speeds through the lecture way too fast for me. I needed to access other resources and help in order to fully understand the material. Once I did that, her tests are not too hard. She also seemed to come off a bit supercilious, which was irritating.
I took online stats with her and it was basically like taking Holtzheimer's class. All the videos and papers were made by the other teacher, and all the homework and quizzes were graded automatically so I don't think Davis had a whole lot to do with anything. I saw her once during the midterm and she seemed nice though.
To ensure your A, make sure you enter class everyday to participate extra credits and get a good score for peer reviews. She expects you to do the learning and consult her when you have problems. The homework load can be overwhelming so time management is crucial, don't procrastinate! She can be strict when it comes to marking papers.
This is my second time having her for math. Unlike stats class, her precalc classes are completely lecture and exam-based. Merely paying attention in her class would bring you to a B, you'll need to spend few more hours practicing outside of class for an A. She is passionate in teaching and she will try to make math as enjoyable as possible.
I very much regret taking hybrid stats w/Wendi Davis. The lack of instructional support is stresful. Many people need a B- to go into a specific program. Unless youre ok with paying to learn statistics on your own, by reading the entire book which is quite large, and watching the YouTube videos that quickly use up high speed internet, avoid her.
Wendi is pretty good, not a hard prof, but the course is difficult. This is more of a hybrid class, where a lot of the learning is online and in class she just covers any questions you have. Lots of group work so make sure to make friends within the first couple days.
Another math teacher. Wouldn't recommend but idk if there is a better option.
Wendi has no tolerance for late work, she has limited late passes which are confusing and make you feel like you're in 1st grade. She says she's readily available but takes days to reply to messages forcing you to come in to the math center and wait till she helps 10 people before you. No support or humanity from instructor. Take anyone else but he
Goes slow through easier parts and faster through harder parts of the curriculum. Doesnt explain things very clearly . Very heavy on assignments. Plan for easily 30 hours a week spent on this course if you even want to pass. Instructor is friendly however her late pass policy will land you quickly in a world of trouble
