I am not a history person but after her class I LOVE HISTORY!!! She made it very interesting & fun. I highly recommend her, she is extremely nice and helpful on all assignments. She gives you two study guides one for midterm & one for final (which are exactly the midterm & final).

Her lectures are very inaccurate, hypocritcal and disjointed. Repetitive and uninspired. Easy A for lower level HIS courses are likely b/c she is better suited for a H.S. History course. Caught at least 3 errors per lecture. Unable to tolerate dissent to her paradigm. Not rec'ed for students interested in formulating their own ideas.

Bob, we miss smell of your coffee. Professor Maier is definitely the best, I attended six different schools on three different continents and prof.Wendy Maier is the best. Cool Teacher, Has unrelistic expecations, on reading, First 3 weeks we had to do a crazy amount of reading, She reviews the books well enough that you can get away with a quick read. She is very Helpful, and will give you like 2 pages of websites you can use as a sorce, Just ask. I Recomend her, but she does make you wrok. Very Sweet Teacher.

For all of you out there: Think of your best professor you ever had, than multiply him/her by 10 and you will still not get in close proximity to what professor Wendy Maier is. I only had two favorite Professor at Oakton, one was Paul Peterson (Enlgish) and the other one is Wendy Maier. She's all the positive description you could think of. Howerver, you have to do so much work in her class, mostly papers; at least, 10 short papers. Anyways, you learn so much from her. She encourages students to participate and be involve

She has a midterm and final which she alomost gives you before you take it and lots of little papers and a big research paper. Plus a lot of reading but she grades fairly and once you get used to her you will enjoy her class.Cares a great deal about her students. I loved being in her class. Excellent teacher and a sweet lady.

Woman knows every date in history. Prof. Wendy Maier, aka “e-mail queen,” she is by far the best professor that ever walked the OCC buildings. A lot of work, but she is willing to help. Always responds to e-mails, always available for office discussions. She loves history and she knows history. She wakes up wanteing to go to work.

She gives soo much help &attention to each & every student, even when she sees a student not interested. This woman is amazing. I will leave Oakton taking more from her class then all my other teachers put together. I entered this class completely uninterseted by the material but she changed all that. She cares about students more than any other teacher. Even about those who blow her class off. Oakton has never had better! But be prepared to work.

Unquestionably the best professor I've ever had at ANY college. Absolutely a joy to work with. She really knows what she's talking about and it's obvious that she loves history. Her lectures are very inaccurate, and disjointed. She presents opinion as fact. Her view of American History has a very pro-western outlook on everything. She presents a very idealistic view of America and our actions abroad. She paints a very "pretty" picture about America being completely altruistic. Easy A, not recommended though.

Professor Maier was THE best prof I had ever had! I took her three times because I actually LEARNED something from her. She is pro-American, yes, but so what! Someone in academia who does should be respected not put down. She cares about her students, and respects you - unlike most professors who hate their country and their jobs.

Prof. Maier teaches both HIS 111 and 112 at Oakton. She teaches both exceptionally well. I have an awesome feeling about US History after her class. She's very helpful, the work is interesting, and you'll definitely leave the class with a better understanding of America. Also, if she says something twice, WRITE IT DOWN. I can say with out a doubt the best class I have ever taken in college! Exploring the causes and examining the many implications of the Holocaust opened my eyes to a history I was unaware of. Without sounding trite the class changed my life. Prof. Maier is exceptionally gifted with knowledge, passion and oratory giving the class an A+ in my book!

Best contact I have ever had with a teacher. Always available through e-mail. Her class isn't super easy, but if you have ANY questions, she'll answer if you ask. Very intelligent and a very charming lady. She knows the Holocaust probably BETTER than the back of her hand...and she's German!! So not ALL Germans are close minded nor anti-semitic.

Very good teacher. Easy if you pay attention. Not a lot to do really. One presentation, few tests, few quizzes. Just pay remote attention, and you'll do fine. Did come off as a "know-it-all" to me, but is a very smart professor. Passionate about 2 things: history and plagarism. Just don't cheat and she'll like you.

This was an online Holocaust course that was easily a University-level class. It is a very challenging class that involves quite a bit of reading, research and writing. A bit more organization of the materials online would be great but it is an amazing course that is well worth all of the work you will put in. She is extremely fair and helpful.

Probably the most knowledgable history teacher I've ever had. Even though she is intimidating, she can teach, simple as that. She is also very flexible with deadlines and is always willing to help. If you have any question on history of the subject, she will answer it. Great teacher, enough said.

I took her for history 112 and she made history fun to learn. She is a publisher and knew her facts. She offers extra credit opportunities as well. For her class you have to write 1 research paper that is 5 pages long and a book review. There is a midterm and final but those are straigh up definitions. Study and ask a lot. Tests are open book. :]

If you go to class, pay attention, and do your work you'll have no problem. She is the best professor I have ever had, she is passionate about her students and history. She gives a lot of work sometimes but she's a fairly easy grader and it's not hard. TAKE HER! You'll learn a lot and have a good time. I wish she taught all my classes!! :)

OMG! where do i beginning Prof Sarti is the BEST. She into the history subject, She examples really good i didnt like history before i took this class but Prof Sarti makes it more interesting. Her test are open book/notes, so take good notes, she is so nice, if you have a question or you dont get something she will answer it, i would take her again

Took the online summer class that was a condensed class but the workload was still a lot. TONS of reading, 4 books in about 4 weeks and there is a paper to right. Discussions due every week but she does love what she teaches and always answers emails quickly and will clarify if you do not understand something.

Ms. Sarti is by far the best teacher I've had in my years of being in college. I had her for previous other history classes and shes GREAT! you have to in order to get the grade you deserve, but its worth it. Loved the class. Its tough, but you do a lot on World War One and even more on Two. I was doing bad in the class, met with her every week, and she even lent me a textbook as I could not afford the books. I passed with B, she is just wonderful, and kind. Ask her about any president!

Lot of research, reading and writing, but much focus on World War II (ask her a question about Hitler, Nazi Germany, Holocaust, she not only will answer you will lend you books, dvds. You have to do the work and you have to show up every class. You have to study. But I am taking classes to learn not skate. I've never been so motivated by a professor. She cares and it shows. She gives really good feedback on essays. I like taking the tests on line. She gives a lot of work but in the end I realized that was good.

FAVORITE AND BEST PROFESSOR. Her classes are filled with information and she is seriously an expert. Take good notes, do the readings, complete all assignments. Professor Maier-Sarti was my favorite professor when I was at Oakton. She's one of the smartest people I've ever met. She literally knows everything about history, more than textbooks! I am taking History 112 with her right now, and she is the best professor ever!!! Whenever I emailed her, she respond back in less than 5 to 10 minutes. She's email quin!!! I took this class online, it was a lot of work, but very interesting and I learned so much. You have to get involved in a lot of online discussions but its an online class. Prof. Maier was always available via email and she was very involved in the online discussions too. I learned so much and loved the class. Be prepared to read!

She's a great professor she helped me a lot throughout the semester and if you visit her during office hours she will definitely help you a lot.

The most awesome professor I have ever had. She's great all around. It is an easy A. All you got to do is study and go to class. Her quizzes are so easy. She tells you a few days before what will be on the quiz or test and even does reviews. She keeps the class interesting. Take her!

Class is very lecture heavy but interesting as well. Also takes attendance so don't miss class. Be prepared to read as well some exams require reading from the text book. There is a mandatory 10-12 page paper to write as it is required for all history classes she will no doubt help you with this paper. Hands down the best history professor I've had

The workload is this class is not sustainable if you are taking other classes. Over half our class dropped. The tests were written in a way that was very confusing and therefore if you received a wrong answer and you believed it to be correct you would have to advise and your grade would be changed. Again, the amount of work was not sustainable.

I recommend any of her online classes. I have taken three with her. Very easy going and inspirational. Answers emails super fast and treats the class like a live one. Tons of interaction and the class is fast paced. No waiting to see how you are doing with grades and is very fair.

Professor Sarti is one of the best professors Oakton has, and one of the best I have had ever. She cares for her students and genuinely loves teaching. I enjoyed her class so much I ended up taking three courses offered by her and plan on adding more just as electives . it is not an easy class, but it is well worth it!

Great teacher. had her for multiple classes and in each one she seemed to love the content she was teaching more than the last. She is very invested in her women in western civilization class and rightfully so. Usually also there are a few longer papers (around 12 pages) and smaller papers in between with easy quizzes scattered around. Loved her!

Absolutely loved this history class and Professor Sarti, she was one of the best teachers i think i've ever had. Awesome informative lectures, cares about teaching and students. Lots of notes, a few quizzes and assignments. Would take any of her classes again!

Professor Sarti is good and the class was interesting, but a lot of reading and a lot of work. If you show good participation and good results she does help you out at the end. I was couple of points away from A when she changed my final paper grade to get me to that point.

In high school, I absolutely dreaded history. I was nervous entering into this class, but I absolutely loved this class. She has the most interesting lectures, and really cares for her students. She is very helpful when it comes to explaining concepts, and puts so much effort into ensuring you succeed. TAKE HER CLASS!

This professor is by far my favorite. She is extremely passionate about history which really helps make it interesting. If you miss class and let her know in advance she will have another student send you notes taken from class, but it's still best to have a high attendance. I only wish I had the time to take another class with her.

Awesome lectures, very interesting and clear presentation of information. Used an open source textbook, which means it was free. Though, everything you need was presented in class, taking good notes is very important so the book wasn't really used. Don't sit on the final paper.

Lots of lectures and note-taking is crucial, but she is very engaging in her lectures because she is passionate about the subject matter. Has many interesting personal experiences to share. She was understanding of my slowness when taking the midterm and allowed me to go overtime in order to finish it. Everything I look for in a great professor!

Really loved Professor Adele-Marie's class. Discussed with one of my classmates and we both agreed she was extremely straightforward. You do the work she asks, and you will be completely fine. Attendance is key but not entirely mandatory, if you are straight up with her, she will work things out. She loves what she does and it shows

This is my second time taking Wendys class and I love it. You can tell she really enjoys her job and is very into the lectures. Easy class if you show up most of the time and do all the work. She is a very easy grader and probably one of my favorite professors at Oakton. SHE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a nice teacher. She is so helpful outside of class and whenever I felt as if I needed more time for my papers, all I had to do was ask and she would help me out. I would randomly instant message her and she got back to me in less than an hour every time. Easy class if you're good at note taking and her quizzes were fairly easy. Best decision!!

HANDS DOWN THE BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER MET IN MY LIFE! Mrs. Adele-Marie is amazing in every way, her lectures are very interesting to follow along with in class. Plus, most of her books she gives us to read are FREE. She is very involved with her students as long as you're the same back with her in class. 3 take home exams, and one paper. Amazing.

alright this teacher is really a gem & youll learn a lot in her class. one thing that pissed me off is that theres so many papers in this class I felt like I was in an English class rather than Holocaust class. Two big papers 7-10 pages each, and then 3 1 page reaction paper on three holocaust survivors. Easy class but A LOT of writing

The class was online so I didn't get to experience her lectures, but Prof. clearly cares about her students' success and asks for course feedback often. Good professor, but very tough in grading the discussion boards so be prepared to put your blood sweat and tears into writing them. Very easy and laid back class though its an easy A so don't worry. Work load isn't that much, in total I probably went on the class site seven times the whole semester. All the units are displayed ahead of the due date

We had a total of 2 essays, 5 discussion posts, 4 quizzes, and 2 exams. The amount of work could be overwhelming, but the professor is very lenient with the deadline and will give you extensions if you ask. Easy A as long as you do all your work! Professor is very communicative with her students and genuinely cares about their academic success.

Dr. Adele-Marie is amazing. When I got 74% on the midterm, she offered me extra credit, and when I forgot to do a discussion post on time, she allowed me to give an extra day for full credit. She gave me a perfect score on the Paper Project assignment. I would definitely recommend you take this professor, trust me, she's the best!

I took this class during the summer and online; honestly, if you do the work like usual, you should get an A. If you ask for an extension on an assignment She'll give it to you provided you have a good excuse and if you email her she is quick to respond. Dr. Adele-Marie is simply the best. You will see why if you are lucky enough to have her as your professor. Very caring, very interesting, and very knowledgeable. The Professor's own love of history seems very much equal to her investment in seeing that students have plenty of opportunity to do well in her classes.
