If you like being talked at for four hours straight from the book and nothing different then this is the teacher for you! No class involvement at all she brings em in just to get em out!!
Please do all of yourselves a big favor and pick another prof., Wendy Conway is absolutely useless. If u want to be talked down to like a lil kid, choose Conway. She can not be questioned without getting defensive, and feeling attacked. I feel she would be more at home teaching grade school. By the way i am a second year student with a 3.9 gpa.
she is by far the worst teacher i ever had!!! does not teach the material very well skipping steps and uses these ridiculous sayings to try to get u to learn the material..which by the way might help her but when the whole class is based upon whether u learn by sayings..like down down down in the denominator will depend on ur grade!! lol..
This class was murder. She teaches in a way that would be amusing for 1st graders, but not so much for college students. Cocky as heck too: "I hope you remember everything you studied". Tests are super long and very difficult. However, she does do a slightly better job presenting the material than the book. Take this class with someone else.

Wendy is a good teacher. Many people may not like her because they actually have to study. She is very helpful if you ask for help. She won't move on if students in her class do not understand something. I took her for two different math classes and liked her teaching a lot.
Assigned large amounts of homework that was due the day of a test. Instead of doing your own thing to study, you end up doing book problems all night. She's a middle school teacher that makes homework mandatory to make sure everyone studies. I would rather study my way and take the test,& if I don't I'll do poorly, but she makes you study her way.
I had Professor Conway for Intermediate Algebra and I would highly advise selecting another teacher. She treats her students as if they were fourth graders.
She was a great teacher I loved the way she taught. This is the first time that while taking a math class I didn't want to quit. She does have some sayings that she uses, which at the time you think are stupid, but when it comes time to remember it you will. I would suggest her to others. In fact I'm taking her for my next math class.
I had Conway for Intermediate Algebra and will HIGHLY recommend her to anyone going into any of her math classes. She relates the material in a manner that makes it easier to understand, and also take the time to answer questions and clarify the information she is teaching.

I have now had her for two semesters. She is a great teacher. She keeps math entertaining, something that I never thought was possible. I am looking forward to taking another math class with her as the teacher. Highly recommend her if you are taking a math class.

Wendy has a passion for what she is teaching. She wants her students to get the concepts and teaches us ways to remember them. I love the little sayings and will always remember them. I would recommend her to anyone taking a math class.
Wendy is an amazing teacher! She has such a passion for math and an equal if not greater passion for her students. She is clear, concise and open to answer questions at any time. She not only welcomes questions, but cares that each one of her students understands the concept being taught. I highly recommend her, she is spectacular!
Great instructor, has a willingness to explain things many different ways to make sure that every learning style is addressed. I've taken this class several times and FINALLY PASSED with this instructor, By no means does she give away a grade but she gives you all the tools you will need to be sucessful. I am taking another with her next semester
Wendy is an awesome teacher, I got a C+ in math because she was very much willing to help her students with any problem that we had. I loved her teaching style. She is very much a help when it comes to combining like terms and formulas. I would recommend her to any student taking a 1050 course, best math teacher I have ever had.
Wendy was a great 1050 math teacher. She's really good with helping students understand compare like terms and formulas. I had the class before and got a C- but with Wendy I got a C+. I would recommend her to any student taking a 1050 math class. You will like her. This class is not easy and she will expect you to learn. Good Luck!
Wendy is AMAZING!! I highly recommend taking math with her. She is always available to answer questions, and is very dedicated to learning. She goes above and beyond to make the concepts clear, is always happy to answer questions - even in regards to an exam. She does not try to trick her students, and will help you succeed. Show up for class!!!
Best math teacher I've ever had. She's always willing to go over unclear concepts and doesn't talk down to you. Her tests are fairly easy if you do the homework and go to class every day. I would very much recommend her.
Great teacher!!! Excellent at doing math and perforimg lectures. She really seems to love math and teaching and offered plenty of extra help. A very approachable teacher for help. Out-of-class activities were part of the grade which were hard to complete. A decent amount of homework was given but she went over it thoroughly. I highly recommend her!

wendy is a great teacher, math isnt my thing and took all my math classes with her. she teaches a few different ways for everyone to understand the learning style and she doesnt move on under almost everyone understands it.. TAKE MATH with WENDY so great..

This is not an easy course. Math is my worst subject. Wendy has students do problems in class along with her lecture that way she knows students are grasping the material. This is not just a job to her she cares about her students and she's passoinate about her work. If you work hard and listen you will learn something. I found her class enjoyable.
Greta teacher. As long as you do the homework before class you will not have an issue getting at least a B

Wendy is the best!! I wish she would teach every math class I need. She explained things very well, and reviewed what we were unclear of before the test. She really does care about her students, and wants you to do well. Attend class, do the hw and you'll have no problem! Wendy made STATS fun and I hate math!
Wendy is AMAZING! I absolutely hate math and she made it easier to understand. She really cares about her students and wants you to do well. I drove from Wayne State all the way to Waterford twice a week for this class and it was well worth it. TAKE HER!
Huge amounts of mandatory homework. 15-20 hours worth every two-three weeks. She makes math slightly more tolerable than some of my other teachers, but the amount of homework is absurd. Yes, this is college, but this isn't law school. Most people who go here are on a tight schedule already, and work. No time to do 20+ hours of homework.
What a great teacher! She took me from a lost math student to a student that got 100% on tests. Would highly recommend her... she is energetic and down to earth.
I love, love , love Wendy Conway! I had her for finite math and stats and she was amazing! I ended up with an A in one and a B in the other. She offers 50 points of extra credit which helped so much. She knows her stuff and really cares about her students. I am sad to see that my teachers at OU don't care nearly as much as she does. Take her!!!!
Mrs. Conway is very nice and offers help but I would not recommend anyone who does not have any or little experience in statistics to take her course. She is a very detailed instructor, and her test are lenghthy and also require a lot of detail. Before this I had Statistics my senior yr in High school and Aced it and in her class Im failing.
She seems a nice lady but i don't like her style of teaching- 1 minute lecture fallowed by 3-4 exercises. So if you don't get the core you are on your own! I had much better teachers at Orchard ridge campus!
Great person, okay calculus teacher. My class got her first time teaching calculus in 15 years so she was a little rusty. Still was a very competent teacher that made learning fun. Lower level classes she is a wonderful teacher. I have worked for her as an SI
Wendy was and still is a great teacher, she made class really fun with the comments she made. She cares about her students and wants everyone to do well, especially those that participate and keep up with the class. The class itself is a bit time consuming and the exams are lengthy but she is a fair grader. I recommend her! Great Teacher :)
For all math classes, if you're not already good at math don't take her. They say there are no dumb questions but when I asked a couple questions she looked at me like I was stupid. She also gives incredible amounts of homework that are nothing like the test. Take her if you easily understand math. Do not take her if you need to study at all!
Only likes to help out the students who understand math and those who ask a question that she doesn't deem smart enough gets brushed off and she acts like they're stupid for the rest of the semester. She puts people on the spot by forcing them to answer questions in front of the class and if you look like you dont get the material she calls on you.
Unprepared teacher. Her strong point is statistics but she's teaching anything so in calc or other classes she's lost and can't really teach... Stay away! Bad grader too!
Bad grader which is rusty in teaching calc ... fatal combination !!!Not recommended at all. She lowered my gpa for less than 2% of the grade...( A- to B+)Chose a different professor if you care about your grades!
Poor teaching abilities ! she was unprepared to teach calc ...the sit was better than her, she is bias and unfair in grading tests so try to kiss some posterior...if you take her class ; but strongly recommend that you do not
Class is easy and straightforward. She's pretty lenient when it comes to grading.
strict grader, if its not on the paper you get no slack. She is very helpful though if you ask for help you will get it. Assigns tons of homework a least 15-20 hours between tests.
Wendy is a wonderful person and an excellent stats teacher. Her exams are lengthy but if you go to class and do the homework you'll get at least a B. She is the first math professor I've had who understands how to teach math in an effective way. Take her.
I love Wendy! She's such a sweetheart and funny. While this is math, she is very understanding and does an awesome job of teaching the material. She always asks if anyone has questions and she gives you plenty of review days and while the homework load is pretty huge it will only benefit you in the end. Do all the HW!!!! :) Go to class!
I have taken 4 math classes with Wendy. She is lovely. My current plan is to continue taking all required Math courses with Wendy. I would not recommend any other professor. The SI instructors are comfortable with the material. I did all homework and EC opps and came out with more A's than B's in her classes. She is definitely recommended!

I went to see Mrs. Wendy to talk to her and she told me to change majors and discourages students to continue education. The worst teacher to speak to. Made us purchase calculators and didn't allow us to use them. Changed syllabus last minute and was not helpful at all! Worst professor ever.
I am someone who both hates math and is really bad at it and I was able to succeed in this class. Prof Conway is super reasonable and helpful. There are 4 exams and a cumulative final (that actually isn't too hard). Homework is easy points. She counts attendance as a grade. She's super sweet & if you ask questions in class she will clarify anything
I love Wendy!! This is my 4th class taking her and I don't want to take any other math professor. I had her for stats, college algebra, trig, and calc 1. She assigns a lot of homework, but it's easy points if you do it! Give a lot of extra credit, does plenty of examples for each section, and she is hilarious too! Such a caring professor.

she is real human she wants to teach us to help others. not just math. but she doesn't post copy of class not on online. and she does not give enough time to copy her in the class. move too fast. if you take this class by itself you will be good. if you take it with other classes God be with you. Extra credit will help you out at the end .
Loved class with Professor Wendy. She is an awesome person who teaches really well. She is very intelligent when it comes to Mathematics. I like how she teaches because she teaches math in a relatable way to all people and shows you the easiest ways to complete problems. Taken 2 classes with her so far.
Do not take her if you plan of passing, she believes that you should not use a graphing calculator in calc two..... CALC TWO, what are you supposed to do? She expects you to use a basic calculator and be okay with it. Its the 21st century, get with it and use technology to your advantage, no need to make things harder for students.
I had Wendy for Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra. She is definitely my favorite professor at OCC so far. She is a really tough teacher and goes over a lot of material each class, and each section has loads of homework. Just skip one class and you'll be way behind. I recommend don't take her class if you're not going to do the homework
She is horrible. There is no structure, she barely explains anything, unless it's the easy stuff. She makes more mistakes than you probably will. We start on the low side of 30 and are down to under 10 in class. Plan on teaching yourself!
Wendy is wonderful. She teaches using book problems and tests the EXACT same way. Pay attention do the homework and you'll at least pass. She throws out entire sections of material along with test questions that are "too hard." On tests she'll give you points just for giving the problem a "good effort". Her class feels like high school, EC and all.
Her teaching style is very basic, goes over problems in the book and that's it, won't help you before or after class. If you're not doing well you pretty much don't exist to her and she'll recommend you drop the course. She's not clear on anything, make sure you know what she wants in class. She gives extra credit, only reason she gets a 2 from me.

She teaches straight from the book and is often very lost. No talking after class, she is very self absorbed and won't give you the time of day.

CALC 2 is the hardest math, so you need to put in the work. Prof. Conway is a nice professor. she is a basic teacher. does problems from the book and the test are similar to the homework. YOU NEED TO DO THE HW TO PASS. she gives "EC" for going to the ASC and SI sessions. she tries her best to help students understand. EXTRA CREDIT WILL HELP YOU
Prof Conway cares about her students. Meet with her and she will help you. You just should ask.
I took Wendy for Statistics, and I am TERRIBLE at math, but I had an amazing time in this class. Go to lecture, do your homework, and take advantage of 50 extra credit points and youll love how easy this class will seem!
Professor Conway is my FAVORITE professor ever. She makes sure everyone in the class understands the material. If you do all the homework you should be fine, if homework did not help, she offers PLENTY of extra credit opportunity.
Prof Conway can get you through the class but frequently gets confused. I noticed many mistakes per lecture and other students did as well. She talks down to her students for mistakes and then makes the same exact mistakes. If you take her classes, DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. I bumped my grade from a B- to an A- from extra credit alone.
Wendy is one of the best profs I've ever had. She cares about her students passing, but you need to meet her halfway & DO THE HOMEWORK! Her tests are easy if you understand the hw, & she offers lots of opportunities to help your grade. She enjoys making connections with her students. She doesn't sugarcoat things. Do the hw & youll do fine
She is a godsent! Love her have had her in the past, she is the best person. She cares about each student and is honest. She grades you for attending classes but you have to participate during class, homework gets graded as well.

Wendy cares that you learn. She is willing to help you as much as you want or as little as you want. She breaks math down and shows you its not really impossible to do, if you show some willingness to try. Take her class. You won't regret it. :) Would take her again!
If your someone that is going back to school or not good in math stay away from her you will NOT learn anything and she will tell you to attend SI sessions instead of helping you learn. She will talk you down for the mistakes you make when her lecture are usually full of mistakes half of the time and a student has to correct her.
Wendy, was a nice professor. Hard grader and loads of homework (which is understandable). If you do the work and show up for tutoring (which she gives extra credit for) you should be good. I dropped because of the pandemic, the class went virtual and it got tricky to say the least. Her main thing is calling out students to walk through problems.
I took statistics before entering this class and completely failed it. The highest grade I got was a 66%. Then I took Wendy's class and I understood what I was doing. I am awful at anything math related. So if you need a professor to help you step by step, offer a ton of extra credit, and actually care for you then she is the professor you need.
Not my best math experience. She is never clear on what is due when which was very hard for me to keep up with. Doesnt really answer questions during lecture, i felt like she was making me seem stupid for asking. She does give a lot of extra credit though which was the only good thing about the class. The SI is good
I choose to take this professor because of the great reviews she had but they turned out to be 100% wrong. Even thought I past the class I would NOT RECOMMEND her to anyone!! She is really nice but dont let that fool you when it come teaching because her lecture is full of mistakes and only cares about students that are passing.
PLEASE avoid at all costs! This class was already difficult enough before the pandemic, but it got so much more stressful. I understand it was a hard time for teachers, but tests as one on one zoom appointments were not a valid option, especially as a person without a functioning webcam and with test anxiety. Avoid her, especially for online class!
She likes to complain about and try to justify the comments she gets on here. Other than that, she seems like a nice person. Definitely not a good professor. She made math much more complicated than it needed to be. Unfair expectations after the whole covid situation.
Prof Wendy has been wonderful during all of this corona virus craziness. She is the only professor that I have had that still has interesting and engaging zoom calls where I feel like I am learning (and takes class seriously.) Her class is not ridiculously tough. Show up, listen, do the homework, ask questions, and you will do fine.
She has a very strong personality, but once you look past that her class is great.A lot of careless mistakes in examples, but the concepts were taught well. Lots of ec.I liked that even though this class was online, she tried her hardest to make it feel as much like a real class. Cameras and participation were required. Not for everyone though
Professor Conway grades via tests and hw. That being said, my problem with her was the attitude. She poorly conveys ideas and frequently makes mistakes while lecturing that leave you more confused than when you began. Even then, she calls out students for making mistakes and asking questions. Very judgmental and overall poor experience.
Last week's class was a test period, but she decided that instead of delaying the schedule and move the next lecture to the next class, she decided it was up to us to teach that lecture to ourselves. She didn't post a video lecture or direct us towards any study materials, nothing. The homework was still due. Unsure why I'm paying for a professor.
She is a great teacher but keep in mind her personality is terrible. She is extremely uptight and almost seems to brag about her 60% fail rate. She complains constantly about the grades her students receives instead of finding ways to improve them. Her lectures and very good but like I said be prepared for a miserable semester.
Nice enough person, but not the greatest lecturer IMHO. Seemed a bit unprepared for class, and the lectures were hard to follow. They were mandatory through participation points, but I ended up taking notes from YouTube videos during lecture. Maybe the experience would have been better in-person. On the plus side the grading policy was forgiving.
If you want to pass you need to study smart EVERYDAY not a study before class get A. i was straight A math student in HS but after her class is was so bad. Her extra credit is a blessing it boosted my grade for sure DO IT! However, the only problem is her lectures, 4 hours sitting and one break. she does not ask you questions u will lose focus
WORST PROFESSORS AT OCC!!!! She gets very annoyed when your asking a question while she is lecturing. STAY AWAY FROM HERE. I honestly don't understand how she is still a professor at OCC because of the way she treats student.
Be ready to be extremely confused after class and while your doing your homework online. Her lecture notes dont contain half the homework problems or any information on how to do them. You do get extra credit if you get a tutor. Brags about her fail rate. Told me I got one of the best scores on one of our test and I got a 73% on it. Didnt curve.
Its not the class that is hard it her teaching. When I say I have never in my life had a worse teacher, I mean it. She gets the problems wrong half the time and gets angry when you ask a question. Avoid her at all costs.
Hands down the worst professor I have ever had. Stats classes typically get bad reviews because of the course, but my complaints are all about Conway herself. She boasts about her fail rate, won't let students in who are 3 minutes late to ONLINE class, and she acts passive-aggressive to those who ask questions during her 2 hour+ lectures. Dont Take
Learning stats online sucks, especially for 2 1/2 hours two days a week. She has good and bad days with lectures, but they are VERY unorganized. The homework is not terrible and pretty easy to get done, except when you get to the test everything seems much different. Studying daily is a must or you won't pass. Decent amount of Extra Credit.
Conway is not a horrible teacher, but I believe there are better professors at occ. She is very critical of students that don't do well. Her teaching style is unorganized, does not allow graphing calculators, and expects you to retain too much info for an exam. She will also throw questions on exam that she did not explain well. Good luck.
Shes the worst teacher Ive ever had in life! Shes rude to the students and very critical. She thinks everyone is cheating and consistently makes us bring our ID to class because she doesnt know if we are who we say we are. She doesnt like you to ask questions or she gets really rude with her answer and tell you to go to tutoring.
Has ZERO CONCEPT of how difficult it is to take Zoom math exams and load them as PDFs to D2L. She thinks everyone is cheating make beyond unreasonable demands during the test period.
Wendy is by far the most GOD AWFUL professor I've had in my life. Her lectures are EXTREMELY unorganized, she shows no empathy towards her students during the pandemic and her notes literally are not useful at all since she doesn't go over things enough. Her lectures are always too fast that my hand ends up cramping mid class . Hopefully I can pass
I'm sorry, but this professor is not a good fit for this class. The way how she does things including lecture is unorganized. She is all over the place and she makes mistakes with lecturing which confuses me more. Please do not take this professor, you will regret it. Best of luck.
The single worst professor I have ever had by a massive landslide. She is constantly worried about students cheating, her test taking procedures are unreasonable beyond belief, her lessons are awful, she actually records test taking sessions, threatens to give you a zero if you look away from your paper during an exam, tons more that wont fit here.
Very unorganized. I lost power during a power outage in my area and she wanted me to get a letter from my electrical company to prove we had a power outage. Like really Im a grown woman with children. You may think you can treat the young students like this but no maam not the older ones like me. terrible

If you can avoid her, you should. I don't go to OCC, but I'm a 4.0 college student & struggled to pass her course. She is unprepared, flies through difficult material, & is frustrated when students don't pick up the material quickly. The tests frequently have material not taught in class. She means well, but is not the best teacher.
to say that she is a bad professor is an understatement. she is the worst professor/teacher that i have ever had. there is little to no explanation for every topic. im in a business calc class and she has us doing calc 2 & 3 topics. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. if i knew this was going to be my experience i never would have signed up for this course.
Absolutely HORRID teacher. I have no idea how she hasn't been let go yet. She will degrade you for asking questions and make fun of you with her SI if you do not understand material. Attendance is absolutely mandatory. Her notes do not line up with her exams. Between her course and another's I will be taking this one at another school!! Sorry OCC!

This class was the worst i have ever taken in my life!!! STAY AWAY! This instructor thinks everyone cheats and make the most HORRID demands ever during an exam. Her lectures do not make sense, very unorganized! She treats these ADULT students like children, maybe she should of taught preschool. OCC, i am surprised she still teaches there!
I have not one idea how she is still a professor. Doesn't empathize with students at all but instead likes to discourage students and boast about her fail rate. Her lessons are awful, her personality is awful, and her test-taking procedures are absurd. I could go on for days about how awful this professor is, but it just won't fit.

Provides tips/tricks & multiple ways to solve so if 1 doesn't work for you another might. Was very patient, answered all questions clearly, and was open to input. Genuinely cares about your success. Sent out email after last test with guidance. Not a lot of hw; 1 assignment per section. Great teacher.
I had Professor Wendy for Calculus 2 and 3. She is an amazing instructor who cares about her students' success. The negative comments are rude/uncalled for. Effort = good grades. She tests on what is taught. She juggles so much, yet still puts her best effort into teaching. I wish I could say more good things about her. Thank you, Professor Wendy!!
I love Professor Wendy Conway! She made math so understandable and easy to follow through. I have not solve Math in years and she was able to help me regain my knowledge and provide very helpful and easier steps to solve. I am very grateful and satisfied with the big difference in my math solving skills and test scores from test 1 to my last test.
