Can't teach without her notes

not too bad
pretty good.
Excellent!
outstanding!
NICE!!!!1
Very nice on the eyes. Not a bad teacher, but teaches out of the book.
This lady has to revamp her grasp of the english language. Seriously.
She is very helpful and tries to explain but is vague and from the book.

she did great, way better then boring beck, raised my ave.with 5%, shes hot, and as for the language thing some dork posted, All immigrants to a new country have problems with english, you probably would suck in her native tounge!!!!!!!
Okay prof with slightly confusing notes. She always ended class 20 minutes early and then wondered at the end of the semester why she was so behind.
Meh. Read the text, and you'll be golden- her notes will confuse you unless you listen super-close.
Not very helpful, but if you read the book, you will pass
Lectures are useless. Read the textbook. The exams/assignments are all written by the textbook authors anyway.
I had Wendy for 111 and 114 and she was totally useless.I had so much trouble with her that I had to deal through the Dean of the College.Quite possibly my worst University experience ever.I still think of her and shudder.
Very smart and she knows what she is talking about, but very all over the place with notes, which are right out of the text. Counted 163 times she said "right" and 117 "ok's" in 40 minutes. Shows what class was like.
Very easy class, but is very boring. She is often unclear and never understands questions in class. Teaches right from textbook though.
Horribly boring and slow, follows the text book word for word waste of time to be in class.
Boring as hell!! Knows her stuff but still having trouble with the english language even though she's been on campus for 10 years. Just read the text and forget about going to class
Seems to have no clue what she's talking about when you ask her a question that deviates from the textbook. Completely all over the place in lectures. Uses retarded webtests. Only good thing is that she's heading for a maternity leave.
She is hot, anyways. :)
OK prof. Read the text and do the webtests (don't worry about actually going to class). She is unclear about some material & can't answer questions students ask in class. Says "right" & "ok" way too many times in one class. Annoying!
Good thing I had an awsome econ prof for 111 (Chartrand) cause she doesn't do a good job of explaining and teaching. The Study Guide and Textbook are your best friends. Very Easy MC Final
Well she is pretty. Anyway, read the text, study guide, and webtests and you'll ace everything. Don't go to class...is a relatively annoying speaker and doesn't seem to know her stuff. Plus all her examples are about pizza...you'll just get hungry. Still the best ECON prof in ARTS=easy tests.
She is so gorgeous that I have a hard time concentrating on what she is talking about.
As long as you read your textbook and do your webtests you will get a good mark. Don't take a pen and paper to class, just a hilighter and your text.
I thought she was ok. Explained things simply, which is always good. Decent notes, pretty fair exams. Some powerpoint would sure help though!!
All the info that she teaches is in your text. Her examples are straight to the point, but don't answer questions in class becuase there is a 90% it isn't the one she is looking for. Stay home for the information, go to class for the view.
Very hard to understand talks herself in circles examples were all about pizza. didnt seem to know what she was talking about. Exams were really hard even if you read the text worst proff i have ever had would not recommend to anyone even if she was the only economics teacher on earth!!! terrible proffessor
Hard to understand sometimes.. definitely says "right?" way too many times in class. Pizza is always in the examples and hamburgers.. makes me hungry. Dont need to take notes.. all the material is straight from the textbook. Do good on those annoying webtests and you'll be fine.
Very hard to understand in class, and teaches straight from the textbook. Read the textbook, print off your webtests and study them, and you'll do well on the tests. I didn't really go to the class after the first few, and did well.
very clear ideas in class, just go to class and listen and you're going to be good.(just make sure you don't fell asleep in the night class
harder than econ111, don't go to the class, and the exam questions like the web test Q's
Most boring class of my life. Take it from someone else if you want to stay awake. Reads straight from the text, so you don't have to go to class, just read the text and study the web tests.
A she does put in an effort to actually teach the concepts. Sometimes it seems like she is unknowledgeable about the course but when you ask her questions she surprises you. It is a pretty easy class with more than enough time to finish the exams.
Yawn. maybe it was the class but.... yeah..
I actually liked this class. She did stay on track with the text book so it was easy to read on more about specific topics. It was easy to catch up if you missed a class and always allowed lots of time for webtests. Her tests weren't too bad as long as you studied a bit. She is very friendly and easy to talk to.
Only reason I will retake her class is "tests are real easy MCQs". She sticks to the textbook so it's quite easy. Other than that, the lectures are HORRIBLE. It's amazing how poor her English speaking is despite being on campus for over a decade now. She doesn't understand or answer the questions properly in class and all her examples are about piz
I think Wendy is a good proff. She's very personal, friendly and easy to talk to if you have problems. Her poor english isn't a big deal if you ask me - all I did was listen clearly and I picked up everything she said; didn't find her difficult to follow at all.
Sorry, I am interested in Econ, or better was. The content is overkilled, and the English is poor. I have great trouble understanding. Not what I expected, especially for the price I'm paying for the course.
Disappointing. I was very interested in the subject, and this prof ruined it. She is hard to understand. She uses computers for everything and knows nothing about them. She lost my exam. Her webtests were set to the wrong date then she told the class. A real gong show.
Wendy's class is really boring. Her lectures are straight out of the textbook; she doesn't even make up her own examples. She really knows her stuff but isn't great at presenting it. Also, she uses webtests and gets the Arts lab to send out marks but always had trouble with the computers, then got annoyed when students kept asking her about it.
Knows whats shes talking about but covers the material in a way that it can be confusing sometimes. Ended up not going to class and focusing on web tests and reading and making my own notes from the text book and ended up with and ave of 80+. Oh yea, don't waste your money on the study guide.
Rather typical class, nothing hard or really easy, just the basics. Her english isn't great but it's certainly not the worst on campus. Everything came from the book and there were no real surprises.
She's nice enough, but I found it incredibly hard to actually attend class. Read the text and do those ridiculous webtests and you will do fine. Just a hint - she sometimes takes questions right from the study guide, so contrary to what some people say, use it!!
one of the easiest classes I've taken, just be sure to go over study guide and web tests, half the exam qs are taken from them.
Doell is such a sweetie! She explained everything VERY thoroughly and gave so many examples that it was impossible not to know every concept by heart. Her notes were very thorough, and I didn't find her accent hard to understand at all.
I did not attend over half of the classes, as all of the material was in the textbooks. The questions on teh exams were taken from a pool of questions, the same pool that was used for the webtests. I once counted the number of times Wendy said "Right?" in an hour. It was up near 157! Nonetheless, she is pretty cute.
easy class-I only went to one lecture all term and got 90+. Material and exams are straight from the textbook, but lectures are relevant to material (unlike Chartrand). Doell has calculations-Chartrand does not, which makes him easier for some ppl. I have had both. Doell is more helpful, nicer. Chart.-slightly easier tests, though.
really really boring class, although wendy did dress very well.
for people like me who don't have any background in economics (and are only taking it because they have to) going to her class is good for clarification. her notes are a summary in laymans terms of the text, so you don't HAVE to go but its helful. She stays on topic (yea she has an accent like some people commented on, but she's easy to understand)
I had no problem understanding her at all. She is a great prof that is extremely helpful. Very nice lady. (She is forced to use those stupid webtests by the dept). I wish all of my profs were like her and I would have majored in Econ
I found her very helpful and had no problems understanding her at all. Her lectures were good and the only problem is that the dept forces its Profs to use that silly Webtest which I despise. If I had her before I would have changed my major to Econ. She is one of the nicest profs on campus and I would recommend her.
know the stupid little did you know facts from the text.
copies everything from the text word for word. buy a used text that already has all of the key elements highlighted, read that and you will do fine. hard part about this class is staying awake
She seems to read all her notes from the book, but does try and explain things in up to date ways. (using 2008 numbers and such) IF you read the text book and do the web test (not worth much but useful) you'll do great!
Very nice lady; she means well... her test are very hard and it is a bit hard to understand her.
seriously dont ever take a class with her if Harry is around ... i was SO STUPID that i didnt ask about her before i just took the class her exams are so hard and her explinations are useless !!
First off shes a total cutie lol. Her fashion sense is impeccable. Dont really need to go to class, read the textbook and do the webtests. She explains things very thoroughly and will definitely help those who are struggling with the material.
Wendy does not explain things very clearly. She rushes through the text book and there are many things I had to learn on my own because she is very one dimensional. Classes were dull and uninteresting.. Not to help that her voice is annoying.
Independent studies class. Assignments were graded quickly but feedback wasn't very useful. Final was terribly written and asked pointless questions that had little to do with demonstrating any sort of understanding of macroeconomics, and only a vague outline was given. Wouldn't recommend taking it via independent studies from her.
This instructor just basically reads from the text and is very hard to understand. Not very good at all if you actually want to learn anything.
Decent. Not very helpful when I went for help though.
pretty much just reads directly from the textbook, no need to attend the lectures.
Independent study. Not helpful. Assignment questions are unclear and doesn't seem to want to try to help you undestand when you ask for help.Would not recommend this course, at least not as independent study.
Independent study. Not approachable at all. Feedback on assignments was very unhelpful. Said final would be similar to assignments but it wasn't even close. Had questions on material we didn't even cover! I studied my butt off and still bombed the final. Should have been an easy class and easy final.
I was really disappointed in the quality of the prof's teaching. I found she was extremely difficult to understand in concept and in presentation - made a very simple course much more confusing than it should have been.
She just quotes the textbook in the lectures, often word for word. The textbook is what will get you through this class and overall it was not that hard of a class. This prof is useless though is you actually want to learn something from her.
I learned mostly from the textbook and found the lectures repetitive on easy concepts.
Very poorly organized and executed class. Professor uses textbook companies notes quizzes and exams. I would definitely not take another class from her.
You might as well buy the textbook, and learn from that. Wendy is also not a very helpful teacher as she has errors on exams and quizzes, but doesn't change the marks.
Wendy is an awesome teacher! She is so nice and funny and helpful. If you email her with a question or a problem, she'll respond back almost immediately. Some people complain about her accent but it wasn't really a problem. Class was very straightforward and you were tested on exactly what she said you would be. All evaluations are multiple choice.
Worst prof ever. Read directly from the textbook, made constant mistakes with grading, and not very willing to help.
Found this class to be fairly easy, and the best part is she pretty much uses the textbook to get the lecture material so if you have to miss classes you don't end up falling behind, the midterms and final are tougher than expected though, but she marks fairly easy and even gives bonus marks. It's a great class to get some extra credits.
She is not an awesome lecturer but the multiple choice test are fairly straight forward. I missed many lecture, but read the textbook and did fine.
Wendy...Terrible prof. The only good thing I have to say is she seems kind...However, her lectures and material are confusing and difficult to understand. If you're not a natural math person you won't find her class helpful.
Probably attended about 7 of her lectures in total and ended up with a decent mark. She seemed like a nice professor, but I found the lectures boring and confusing. Read your textbook and do the computerized quizzes though because she gets many of her test questions from them.
No real point going to lecture. Only went to class to write the midterms or chat with friends. Read the textbook and you'll do fine. I found her to not be very clear while teaching however I found her helpful in person and via email. Puts on lots of tutorials prior to exams if you need help. Exams are pretty easy. Would recommend her.
Prof. Doell tests were very straightforward. They were exactly what you would expect consider the material covered. I did not, however, feel the need to attend lecture. You can simply study the text book and do great in the course. When asked a question at times she was unable to answer it and gave a very confusing irrelevant answer.
She teaches straight out of the textbook but the textbook is more useful than her lectures. Tests are pretty easy, pretty much identical to the computerized quizzes she requires you to take. Don't go to the lectures just read the text.
A very no-nonsense, to the point teacher. Her lectures are focused on problem solving, which helps in grasping the course material. She's also very helpful outside of class time.
One of the nicest profs I have ever seen so far in my life. Attending class is not mandatory but helpful, especially, if you are not having a background in Economics. Whole class is about graphs. She is alway willing to help you, and on the plus side, summer class does not have hell amount of course load. We skipped 6 chapters out of 22.
Pretty easy class. try to do well on the computerized quizzes and read the text, you'll be good. got 80+
Pretty easy class, try to do well on the online quizzes as you will see questions from there on the midterm and final. got a 100% on her midterm.
Professor Doell sadly teaches what can be a very boring class. I was in an 80 minute lecture and although the content was important and interesting, the class really seemed to drag along. I did not miss many classes but it is not absolutely critical to go to class. I believe that you could do just fine if you learn from the textbook and work hard.
Great person, tough on tests. There was a few times during the semester that she would say something and actually confuse herself. She constantly makes mistakes, but it's understandable because this course can be very confusing after chapter 7.
Attended 111 at first, never skipped a class, I know her system already so in 114, only attended first day of the class, two midterm days, and the last day. She's ready to help but I never attended a class but got 70+ in the first midterm, my friend kept attending and failed the midterm. Since then I decided to not attend.
Wendy is one of my favourite professors! She should definitely have better gradings on here! She is incredibly helpful and truly cares about her students doing well! Wendy is very approachable and always willing to help. If you keep up with reading the text book and follow along in her lectures, you will do very well! I highly recommend her :)
Her notes are very vague, make sure you buy the textbook. Lectures are fairly dry, spends a lot of time on one subject, which made me lose interest quickly. Online quizzes are very helpful. The questions on the midterms were very confusing.
The prof is great when it comes to testing you and communicating through emails, however lectures get really boring and makes the subject a bit entertaining, but at the end of the day you would understand the material
Very confusing. Found the textbook more useful.
Terribly boring lectures. Pretty easy content, multiple choice midterms and final. Either buy the text or go to class, doing both is unnecessary.
Ok so lets say, right, right, right. Thats all you will hear all semester.
Had Wendy for 3 classes. She knows her stuff and she's amazing but she's not great at teaching. Had to get clarification often and she was glad to help. Reading the text was a must combined with going to class. She's a fair market but exams can be hard to an extent. Lots of effort need to be put into her classes but it's worth it.
Macro can be a very exciting topic, unfortunately she makes it very dry and boring.
The class doesn't seem that hard until the midterm, the tests are tough
Be prepared to teach yourself.
Sometimes she goes on too much about a topic and confuses you but if you ever need help you can just email her and she will answer fairly quickly.
114 with her was very boring in terms of lectures and tests were harder I stopped going to class and taught myself and my marks improved a lot more specially for the final and 2nd midterm
I took this class after I took econ 111 with her. Extremely easy classes every exam is multiple choice out of a test bank. Attending class is completely unnecessary as all questions are directly from the textbook; however, if you attend lectures it is extremely clear what you need to know. Never engaged in class and often bored but it was easy
She gives online quizzes, which you can do before your final. There is one for every chapter. I liked this because it gave me a chance to review, but lots of times the answers were incorrect. We had 2 midterms and I found both very hard, they were multiple choice. One of those classes where every answer seems correct.
she was terrible. STAY AWAY from her classes at all costs, nice person but a terrible prof.
Wendy is a good prof, i took two of her classes and she focuses on the book a lot and her exams are straight from it, i actually did better in the second class i took from her and i never attended. if you keep track with the book then attendance is not required.
Easy class in the summer to take, if you can do all the online quiz's you can crush the midterms and final. Lectures are decent and she provides notes.
This class is easy, boring, and the way graphs are used makes you question the mathematical sanity of whoever thought this was a sensible way to represent data. Going to class is unnecessary but Wendy makes it even easier if you show up. Instruction style is similar to a high school teacher. Optimal choice if you just need the credit.
very nice prof.
Wendy is by far one of my favourite profs! She takes material straight from the textbook so if you don't want to go to class you can just learn it on your own. She does have a slight accent but it rarely made it hard to understand her. Also, she's quite funny, which is a huge plus because i found economics slightly boring.
Gives a bunch of online tests that are not to bad but the load really adds up. Lectures are long and dry, they get real boring real quick. She takes the information right out of the text book which is nice for studying and if you miss a class.
Class followed the textbook very well. Lectures were a bit dry, but extremely useful for understanding the graphs used. Enjoyed the class and found it very easy and well explained.
Class was simple; do the online quizzes. The midterms (and probably the final, but I'm writing that in an hour and don't know yet) are essentially the same questions as the quizzes. You pass the quiz, you pass the midterm. Either go to the class or read the textbook, both is not needed. I studied from the text and got 95% on both midterms.
The class is comprised of: two midterms - 25% each, online quizzes - 10%, and the final - 50%. Wendy takes all of her exam questions (MC only) from the test bank provided for the assigned textbook, so read the chapters, do the old midterms as practice, and you will be set! She's great about providing you ample resources to study from. Great prof!
She encouraged class discussion and was very helpful. After class, she easily clarified formulas and topics that the text book made way more complicated then it should have. Her tests are fair, and you get lots of chances to practice. All in all a great prof and a great class, with a fair workload. I'd take more of her classes if I had the chance.
This class was difficult for me to stay interested in what was going on during class. I skipped class several times and read the textbook instead and found I did WAY better doing that then going to class. She can sometimes make things more confusing then they need to be and the textbook is clear at explaining.
Explains everything very simply. Midterms and final were not too difficult as long as you do the online quizzes and in-class quizzes provided because a lot of the questions are the same. Would recommend for Econ111
Lectures were pretty boring, but to be fair, it was more due to the content than Wendy. She teaches pretty much exactly what the textbook does - her online quiz questions are all from the publisher's test bank. Her midterms were pretty easy but her final was really difficult! Study the midterm questions she says most people got wrong.
good class
Doesn't explain how to answer questions
good PROFESSOR, which helps a lot if you going to ask her. easy to pass if you understand notes clearly.
She tries her best to make the class interesting but it doesn't really help. Expect two midterms, a final, and online assignment. Just read the textbook and you'll do fine.
Dont go to class read txt book
I found both her Econ 111 and Econ 114 class to be pretty difficult. I struggled to keep motivated during lectures. Her online quizzes, midterms and final are all made up of multiple choice questions; which gives students who struggle with multiple choice testing a big disadvantage. I personally would avoid taking any of her classes again.
Took Econ 114 as an independent class, so no lectures to attend. Assignments required you to read the textbook to do well. Wendy marked assignments and returned them very quickly with good feedback. The questions on the exam come from the textbook bank, so use the textbook publisher's online quizzes and the assignments to study and you'll do well.
She is the most annoying teacher I've ever had. Constantly saying "right" or "okay". I counted once and she said okay 28 times in 10 minutes. Wendy also seems unsure of some concepts and often gives poor examples.
Her lectures are very very very boring and she has a very heavy accent. She repeats herself all the time and it is very hard to stay focused and follow her slides. Also her slides are pretty much from the textbook
Just a little below average. She has a pretty good personality, but sometimes it can be tough to understand her over her accent.
Thick accent. For her assignments for each chapter, you get 5 times per chapter and she takes your highest score which I think is good. If you go to class and try to pay attention and read the textbook and do the assignments, you will pass.
Lectures summed up: "So lets say right..." Buy the textbook, read it carefully and you ll do fine.
Right, okay, so let's say you need to take an economics class. Don't take it from Wendy. Going to her lectures are so pointless. She can't teach a slide without jumping back to 50 different ones just to get a point across. Better off to read the textbook.
Wendy is one of my favourite professors! Her exams are predictable and she takes all her questions from the textbook bank. Her final had tons of questions that were from the online quizzes that are worth 10%. Read the textbook and do her quizzes and you'll do fine.
Awful, couldn't understand her at all. Opportunity Cost okay, right . basically all you will here all year. Read the textbook its your only hope with her
Wendy Doell was a pretty good Prof. I can honestly say I didn't enjoy the material of the course but Wendy tried her best to help you understand, even though the textbook was more clear than she was. Be prepared for chapter quizzes! The only good thing about the quizzes is that she takes questions directly from those for the midterms and final!
"Um, ahh" is a common phrase you'll hear Wendy say if you take any of her class. She basically just reads from the textbook, so if you can dedicate the time to read the textbook yourself, and do all the online quizzes, you can do pretty decent in her class.
I really enjoyed Wendy's Econ 111 class. I found she illustrated all the concepts well and has a kind personality. Sometimes I did find myself struggling to pay attention toward the end. However, Her lecture notes were very clear and helpful.
Wendy is a good prof. She was very good at explaining herself and hints at whats on the test by emphazing or repeating herself. The best economics prof I have had.
Wendy is a good professor. I had her for Econ 111, and you always know what to expect with her class. She has class notes derived from the textbook, however has her own twist on them and tries to explain the concepts as best as possible. I had no trouble understanding her. She responds to questions/emails quick. Very caring, and test isn't too hard
Well planned out lessons and clear expectations.
She was always available to help, remarkable at responding to emails, fast marker. If I saw her in the hallways she stopped to see how I was doing and how classes were. Econ is a drab subject, and she did her best to brighten it up. Love her, would take her class again
Wendy is excellent at describing challenging economics concepts, while using real world examples. Although the three hour night class can be long, she does her best to make it interesting. She cares deeply about students and quick at responding to emails. Make sure to do the online quizzes, as many test questions come from the quiz bank.
If you get Wendy for econ, do yourself a favor and just read the text at home. Not only does she move through the material at the pace of a snail, she makes it as hard to follow as possible (no whiteboard management, thick accent, strange off-topic discussion). She doesn't add anything that you can't get from the text, faster, and more clearly.
Wendy is an amazing prof! She cares deeply for her students (inside and outside class) and she loves to answer questions! I had her spring class which is extremely fast pace but she did her best to explain all the materials. Pay attention to her lecture, do the quizzes and you dont need the textbook at all. Highly recommend!
I quite enjoyed having Wendy as my professor as she tries relate everything she teaches to real life examples which makes it easier to understand. There are online quizzes you have 5 attempts and she will take the highest mark (10 questions 20 min) worth 10% easy mark booster. She takes questions for her exams off of those online quizzes.
Hard to understand with her accent. But, she lays out very clear expectations for the class and also hints at some of the long answers on the exams.
Wrote this 5 minutes into class two! She looks lost when shes up giving the lecture and loses track of where she is multiple times during the class. Very difficult to stay engaged in the course due to her monotone voice. Accent makes understanding her lectures difficult. Seems as if she doesn't know what she's doing. Read slides word for word.
She is really confusing and often contradicts herself. There is no need to even go to the lectures because she will just confuse you and you can do well with just reading the textbook. The midterms are the seams as the online quizes so it is easy to study.
Wendy was pretty ok. Her lectures were kinda hard to follow so class was useless but like notes were good and helpful for exam prep. Midterms actually weren't too hard but did have a couple tears in the final. Online assignments are good mark boosters
Wendy is a very knowledgable Econ prof. She has 2 tough midterms and a tough final but read the textbook for a good, thorough understanding of the material. Online assignments are good mark boosters. Her lectures were kinda hard to follow so like not super necessary to attend. Her notes are helpful.
Lectures are hard to sit through, especially if you have a 3 hour night class. Often goes off on a tangent and then scraps what she was just saying, which is confusing. She gets her content through the textbook, so it's not too bad to keep up on the content which I do like about her class.
Wendys accent makes her extremely difficult to understand. Thank god she always records her lecture so you can rewind her and try and make sense of what she is saying. Don't know how she can never change things up. Class is easy but she can trick you on the final. She'll never meet you in person for extra help either have to rely on tuitorals.
I dont think teaching is her calling. She is very knowledgeable, but hard to follow and her explanations dont always make sense because she doesnt go into much detail.
Wendy is probably a lovely lady, but she is a terrible teacher. She never asks the class if we understand, and often leaves us to teach ourselves the entire course while she says "um" and "am I right? yes, I'm right." for an hour every day.
Very unhelpful. During this pandemic time, very hard to understand. Im literally paying her to say um for an hour almost everyday.
She is awful. Online lectures are basically just reading the power-point back to forth, and then she basically reacts to any question like its the dumbest question she's ever received. I've had to teach myself from the textbook and smartbook essentially this entire semester.
This class was an absolute joke, she doesnt interact with her students whatsoever. Her lectures are 2 hours long and for what reason?... to watch her read off the PowerPoint word for damn word! Praying for everyone in her class xx
Wendy was a wonderful prof! The only lectures she gives to learn from are recorded ones from a year ago, but I found her really good at explaining things and relating them to real life. She emails back fast. The chapter quizzes were difficult and had things you never learned, but the midterm and final were open book and a lot easier! She's great!
I have no idea what's going on in her class. Her lectures are 2 hours long just for her to get confused by her own words. I have learned nothing and I have 0 motivation to even finish the class. Just read the PowerPoint and read the textbook chapters she releases if you need extra clarification. However, she does give extensions easily.
Lectures are terrible, and she doesn't teach you everything that will be on her quizzes. Any time you ask her a question she will just repeat the answer with no explanation.
She is a great prof in comparison to others, she responds quickly in discussions and is ready to help. Lectures follow the material precisely, and you don't have to read the textbook, though quizzes have some questions that weren't discussed in full.
Wendy seemed like a very nice lady but her lectures were quite dry and sometimes not the most in depth. Some of the content on the quizzes wasn't covered in the lectures or text either. Text was open-source which was nice and the one time I did email Wendy she responded right away and was helpful.
Wendy is a well-respected professor She's so flexible with her due dates and will give you accommodations or extensions. This shows that she cares about you passing your courses.
Wendy does a great job, no issues with her. Class is rigged to brainwash impressionable young adults into being liberal The multiple choice questions are normative statements that say liberal ideologies are right and other answer choices are wrong. University is a liberal indoctrination camp, not a place to become more intelligent. Easy if you try.
Wendy is great professor having in-depth knowledge of the subject. She did a stupendous job. Her classes are very interactive and she is always ready to resolve the query of students. I would like to take course with her as professor.
Wendy is one of the good ones, as someone whose been stuck with Harry 3x and dropped Harry 3x, it's great to get a prof who cares and wants to teach. However, I wish the class was more dynamic. Assignments were weirdly worded quizzes, if she had us analyze markets on ECON software and hand in reports, it would have been more conducive to learning.
Wendy confuses everybody, including herself. It is a 3-hour long lecture for her to say "umm okay" about 100 times. There were confusing questions on the midterms that seemed only to have the purpose of intentionally tripping you up. Avoid this class or expect to hire a tutor, Wendy is not it and should not be teaching.
it is clear that she does not know what she talks about and her quizzes are weirdly worded. and written in broken English. If I asked specific questions about those questions, she just repeats the correct answer word by word without any explanation. If you can have a better prof for first year Econ classes, avoid her at all cost
She was good the first couple lectures but now I think she just shows up and wings it. The slides shared online are actually really helpful. If you read those you can easily get an 80 without going to class. Unfortunately, a lot of little details she mentions in class end up as midterm questions. Not a great teacher but she is really nice.
Second time having Wendy as a prof and somehow she was able to be get even worse at teaching. Wendy yaps a lot, and many times it felt as if she had no clue of what she was 'teaching'. Although the weekly assignments are easy and having extra credit for attending the classes, do not expect to learn anything from her, otherwise you will fail.
There is an overwhelming amount of content that is low-transferable into real life. She crammed extra units in at the end of the semester, starts new content directly after the midterm, and skips steps in math, so it's hard to follow. Her perspective of economics is blind to lower SEC demographics. Awful and an expensive waste of time.
Wendy's lectures can be hit or miss, but the slides and textbook are helpful. With some self-study using unstuck AI and other resources, you can do well in the class despite the occasional confusion. Worth taking if you put in the effort.
Decent professor. Her slides are well detailed, but for about 80% of them she just reads from them, and then tells us stuff that isnt super related. You could probably stay home, read the (free!) textbook and her slides, and get a ~75%-80%. 3 hour lectures in the evening are hard to stay interested in, and shes not the most entertaining.
decent professor. her slides are detailed, but its basically 3 hours of her reading off them. Plus, 3 hours of an evening class prof that doesn't make much of an effort to be entertaining is incredibly hard to stay interested in. You can skip every class, read her slides/textbook and get ~80%. not the worst choice, but try to look for someone else.
She posts online quizzes and you get 7 attempts for each so they are good for boosting your grade. She also offered an extra 2% if you attended every class. Available outside of class. All coursework and lectures are posted in Canvas ahead of time. No big assignments, just the quizzes, midterms and final. Would definitely take more of her courses.
