Good, but tough teacher, took her summer class, still had 6 essays and 7 quizzes. A fair grader, very detailed essay assignments, never have to guess on what she is wanting, no extra credit! Very helpful and responds to emails

Wendy Eddy was a very difficult professor (she said that last semester she only gave 10 A's out of 160 students), but she was a very sweet and helpful teacher. I am an excellent writer, but I had to work my butt off to earn my A.

I loved this class. WE actually wrote things that mattered. (for the most part). The essays we read weren't bad at all. She was available to help us pretty much whenever we needed it. I am going to take comp 2 form her next semester. I got an A in comp 1

She is such a warm welcoming teacher. She makes all of her class periods interesting. I have her for an evening class so I am in there 3 hours and I do not get bored.

There was quite a bit of work in this class. For the amount of effort I put in I got the grade I deserved. But I learned ALOT, and I had good english teachers in high school. Wendy is a nice and quality teacher and if you want to get good grades in other classes you should take hers first.

If you consider English to be a weak subject for you, do not take Wendy's class. If you enjoy the subject, and have a decent grasp of the language, you're going to love her. If you like a challenge, and actually want to learn something, this class is for you.

People, Wendy was my favorite teacher all semester. Word has it that her classes are always the first to fill up during enrollment. If for whatever reason you're falling behind, she will be more than willing t help you, and she can be very lenient. Show up and try your best. No regrets!

This is by far one of the best english pro. around. Her personality matches the way she teaches. She is very helpful and inspiring. You might have to work for you grade, but it will be worth it in the end.

I struggled the first couple weeks trying to be "proper" in my papers, curbing my weird humor. Turns out, she just wants the writing style to be formal or informal, but she loves humor in papers. Easy A once I relaxed and wrote more as myself instead of the imaginary prim & proper student you'd think an instructor prefers. She's great!!!

great teacher I took her for both comp 1 and 2 and I learned alot I actually dreaded her class and would not have recommended it after the first semester hower I realized I has actually become a better punctuated writer learned alot would recommend her to anybody except slackers

Wendy is so nice! Although her class isn't the easiest, she will help you in any way she can. She most always offers class time to be used for conferences before major papers are due and the topics she gives are never dull. She's very peppy and easy to get along with! Take her class!

Wendy is so fun! She is always upbeat and interesting. Expect to learn in her class. As long as you do your work essays, study for quizes, do the group projects, and show up to class you will be fine. I sugesst her Honors english class because you get to read a lot of interesting essays. It sound hard but it's fun. GOOD LUCK!

I had Wendy for Comp I 4 years after I had my last HS writing course. She is amazing! All the positive comments are true, Wendy is a great teacher. She has an excellent sense of humor, and easily relates to her class, but is also very firm with class rules. Grading on essays is harsh and she is unapologetic about it, but she is also very fair. Sets aside the most time to help students i've seen so far. You can't go wrong with Wendy.

I was told to take her for Comp 2 and I was not disappointed. She is wonderful. The essays you write are on subjects you can relate to. Most of the class work is in groups. If you are there for class the grades are easy to make. Make sure you enroll early to get into one of her classes. She fills up fast and I can see why.

Best teacher in the world. Wish I could have had her for comp 1 also. Her essays might be long but they are over a big choice of things that you can pick (not just one topic).

Mrs. Eddy is a great teacher. Be prepared to write essays. You have one essay due nearly every week. They are over cool topics, so you won't be bored writing them. This class is difficult if you aren't willing to work. A little effort goes a long way, and Wendy is always there to help.

This is the most pleasant instructor. Take notes and read them before each test and you'll get an A. There is a bit of reading and you can google to find the symbolism for group work. Ask questions. She's so nice & makes it a great class. Dismissed early most times.

By Far one of the est teacher I have ever had. She will give you what you put into her class. Showing up to class everyday is a must. But she will help you with anything any time you ask. I am terrible at English. I took her for Comp 1 and 2 and made A's in both. I don't think I could have done it with out her. She's Awesome

the class was ok. it is not hard to pass this class at all. the only down side i did not like about this class was having to work in groups the whole semester. it may work for some people but i am someone who likes to do my own work and not have to depend on other students to do their part if you don't like working in groups avoid this class.

Wendy was very helpful. Even scheduled days off where we could go talk 2 her one on one. Lots of essays so we can get practice. The midterm was easy. The final was okay. Worked in groups alot. That was interesting. Gave homework every friday, easy but sometimes time consuming. You will be a better writer after this class, trust me!

Absolutely the best instructor I have had, and I've taken over 120 units! When my daughter graduates high school (2010) I would sincerely recommend that she take Wendy's class!

One of the nicest teachers I have ever had. English is my least favorite subject, but she made it tolerable.

I had Ms. Eddy for Comp I because I had to, and Comp II because I wanted to! She is by far my favorite teacher. Helpful, HILARIOUS, and her class was easy for me... however, I put a ton of effort into her class, and like writing. Just listen, do the work, and she will like you! Do not buy the textbook, she does not use it.

OMG! This is the perfect college professor. She is so nice and she is extremely helpful, and she is a naturally happy person. If you have even the slightest chance of getting into her class, i would defintely recommend it. I tool the blended online class which has not class on friday and you take a short quiz that you have a week to do. She is GOOD

I absolutely LOVED her class. She is AWESOME. My friend practically made me take her Comp 1 class and I wanted to take her Comp 2 class. You don't need a book, you usually get out early, and you learn a LOT. I HIGHLY recommend her. But her classes fill up fast. Like within the first two days of enrollment. So you have to hurry.

Wonderful teacher. Very helpful. No reason for anybody to fail this class unless you fail to do work or miss class a lot. She if a very fair teacher. Short Analysis quiz are a a little tough. Some of her Short analysis is not that interesting, but over all I enjoy her class and will be taking it her Comp 2 class next semester.

She is fun, and very outoging! You have to work for your grade, but overall it's easy work, I never had to work on anything outside of class, excluding online assignments and papers. She is nice and funny and made me love comp!

She is very outgoing! I actually enjoyd coming to class. She lets you out early almost every class period, as soon as you finish your assignments. Not very much homework, except writing papers. I love Ms. Eddy. She is chipper, funny & smart. I liked the lessons and the lectures. The short analysis are cool over tone, diction & anduience. No extra credit but its not needed. Do all the homework, online assignments, write your essays, attend all classes & you'll get an A. I can't wait for Honors Comp II in the Spring 2011.

I had her in the fall for Comp I, spring for Comp II. I must say, I absolutely love Eddy! No book needed, attendance mandatory, requires some work (definitely not backbreaking though). Note: Classes fill up FAST. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Had Wendy Eddy for Comp 1, she was the best! She is organized, sets clear expectations. attendance and no tardiness is a must! But you will look forward to her class, fun, interesting,she knows her stuff, are about your grade,she will too

I took Eddy for freshman comp 1 & 2. It wasn't an easy class. If your looking for an easy A look for a different instructor. 2 tests, 4 short papers, and 3 longer papers. A lot of in class assignments, so don't miss a class or you may miss vital points on your grade and test.

No book needed. Mrs. Eddy is very straight forward with what she expects and always up to help you. Your assigned 8 analysis essays but only have to do 4 which is nice. I find it a bit of a struggle to keep an A but, a B would be pretty easy to attain as long as you come to class daily and do the work given.

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK FOR HER COURSE!!! She prints out everything for you. Must read 8 essays and write 4 analysis essays out of the 8, quiz over each essay, 4 formal writing assignments. 1 midterm and 1 final.She explains everything in detail and gives you guidelines for each and every paper. Attend class daily and do the work and you will pass!

Offers a lot of points. Come to class and you receive most of your points by participation and group work. She expects good papers but she is very helpful. Time management skills are needed a little bit.

Wendy is a FABULOUS Comp instructor. No book is required. She explains all essays precisely. Very helpful, gives feedback on all papers, and returns them quickly. She will make you fall in love with reading and writing. All around she is an excellent instructor, super personable, funny, and friendly. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

I took Eddy for Comp 1 and 2. I absolutely love her! I would recommend her to anyone, but beware there are quite a few writing assignments. I love writing so I didn't think it was bad. She is very willing to help anyone with their papers (proof-reading), and her tests very easy. I cannot recommend her enough! She is just a fun professor.

Mrs. Eddy is an overall awesome human being. I loved being in her class, and the material/class discussions are not boring at all. An A is definitely attainable, but it will require some work.

Online Comp II class. Very clear on what she wants and what is required. Doesn't use book. Gives informative handouts on how to write essays properly. Lots of quizzes and assignments, but they aren't difficult. Grades fairly and quickly. Highly recommend.

Did the 8 week online summer class, while the course load was heavy it was doable. I am a mother of 3 under 5 yrs of age and I was able to make a 95% There is no textbook used, and Ms. Eddy is very helpful if you have any questions. I enjoyed the class very much and would recommend, just be ready to work.

AMAZING TEACHER!!! Very clear and straight to the point. Class attendance is mandatory, but rarely was I in class for more than 20-30 minutes. Gives you all worksheets you need to write the 4 essays and everything is group work so choose wisely. She actually cares. MUST TAKE, very funny and sweet!

Great teacher, took her for Comp 1! She's very helpful and you can contact her whenever! She does have a different crazy personality, but you get used to it and she's actually really sweet. You have essays to write over essays you read, but they're incredibly easy. Easy class, Fun teacher, love her!!

Challenging. I hate reading and writing, but it will be needed in any career so we have to do it and try to learn it. This is like a said, a challenging class, but you have to work. The teacher is VERY organized and nice which makes the class flow well. I liked it I took this class in campus. No need for books, she provides everything you will need.

There is no one sweeter than Mrs. Eddy! I Had her for Comp I and II. She was challenging for composition, but has prepared me for College-Level Writing. No book! If you need ANY help, talk to her! She wants you to succeed in writing! If you hate her or complain a lot, it's because you are lazy and don't want to do the work! Very sweet and helpful!

Professor Eddy is great! Her syllabus is crystal clear and she is very organized. She encourages her students to do well and works hard to see that they do. She is very quick to respond to emails!

Eddy is the best english teacher i have ever had! T took her Comp 1 class so i HAD to have her for tech writing. This class was very useful and Eddy made the class fun. You have weekly assignments, but they are not extremely grueling or time consuming. Tests and quizzes are easy points

Wonderfully organized! Course load is a little heavy for online, but as long as you stick to the due dates an A is easy. She has an amazing amount of clarity on assignments. She's very personable and reasonable. That being said, late assignments will not fly with her. You have several chances to perfect assignments before getting a big grade on it.

I loved this class! Eddy is extremely helpful and assigns informative, fun, and easy to complete tasks. No textbook is required and she teaches solely on handouts and then short quizzes/assignments to test your progress. There are several formal papers in this class but nothing unmanageable. If you are willing to pay attention, its an easy A+.

I took Comp 1 and 2 with her. Great teacher. Willing to help. Do what she wants or you might be in trouble. She seems like the kind of person who is chirpy and happy, but if she doesn't like you, she might cut you in pieces. Work hard and you will get an A. She is amazing! So organized & helpful. Warning though, if you flunked english in high school this is not a course to reteach the basics-it will hone your writing skills and teach you what you need for college. If you feel remedial in your writing, then this is not a class for you. She is extremely prompt in grading/responding to email & very nice.

Mrs. Eddy is an amazing teacher! She makes everything easy to understand, provides handouts (no text), and holds conferences for each big writing assignment to explain what needs to be fixed on your paper before you turn it in. I was very nervous going into comp I with her but am very confident now finishing comp II thanks to her!

Took both Comp 1 and 2 with Ms. Eddy and passed each with flying colors. If you're an English buff this class will come and go very easily for you. 1 online assignment a week, major and minor essays, and points given for class attendance. Very enthusiastic about her material and helpful, never talks down to students. Also, no textbook!

Professor Eddy is very helpful and the class is very easy to follow. She outlines each week what is due and what you should be working on to prepare for the following week. Easy A if you do the work and follow instructions.

I took Mrs. Eddy for TechnicalProfessional Writing online, and I loved her! There are assignment's due each week, but they are very manageable. She is very helpful, and always responds with ways to help you improve! Do the work and actually try and you WILL come out with an A! Highly recommend!

Wendy was very clear on what she expects from her students. If you follow her instructions and stay on top of your work, it is not hard to make an A. Do show up to class because you get points for attendance. We worked in groups and trust me, that is a major benefit especially when you are struggling, your group will help you. Had her this past spring semester and was one of the best professors I've had at TCC so far. She teaches rather than sending students off to the writing lab, gives handouts for everything you need to know. There are online assignments each week but they are very simple. She is very nice and extremely helpful. TAKE HER!!

Mrs Eddy was a great teacher. I took her for Comp 1, and am taking her again for Comp 2! We used no textbook. The essays are not easy, but it is possible to receive a great grade if you put the work in. There are weekly quizzes, but sometimes they are done with groups or replaced with discussions. I appreciated her attitude and helpfulness!

What can I say about Mrs. Eddy and her class?! AMAZING. She is VERY knowledgeable, hilarious, helpful, and makes the class fun. She will make you work for that A, but if you do not quite understand something or need help, she is always there. If you want to learn and have fun, TAKE HER CLASS!

She is so sweet and makes class fun. Most professors have to choose a topic for their comp classes, and she actually picks intriguing and captivating material that isn't boring to work with like some professors give. Very approachable and sparkling personality!

Cons: This teacher is hard and Intimidating. I had to devoted countless hours on my essays, including going to the writing lab once or twice per essay in order to receive A's. You HAVE to go to class. There is group work, but it sucks if you get a bad group like I did. Pros: Class goes by fast, and she's always excited/ in a good mood. No books.

I took Wendy for a 16wk online comp 2. She is very sweet and responses fast to emails, however, is a tough grader on essays and does NOT let you revise. You have 5 papers, and then quizzes online each week. In the beginning the class is super easy but then the quizzes begin to get difficult. NOT A CLASS FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN NOT WRITE GOOD ESSAYS.

Wendy is such a sweet person, I loved her class. Obviously, with the course being a Comp 2 class, there was a lot of writing. There are five papers and essay readings that she has quizzes and discussions over every class. But the theme was very interesting and I enjoyed every class. If you need a comp class, you HAVE TO take Wendy!

I am SO happy I had her this semester! 5 essays but they all relate to each other. You build off from each paper until you compile it into the last one. The beginning you'll have readings before class. You'll either have a quiz, class discussion, or short writing/essay. The online part of her class is extremely easy. Gives great feedback.

Writing is not my best skill. I was worried to take any composition II class but this class was so interesting that I think it brought out the best of my writing skills. The overall theme for my semester was criminal justice. Each student picked a criminal to study for the entire semester and write 4 essays about the person and the crime.

She gives good feedback and tell you exactly what she expects on all assignments. she does NOT give extra credit. She is a hard grader and you will receive the grade you earn. I took this class not realizing that it was only an 8 week class but Prof. Eddy was great and very understanding when I expressed concern with my grade. While this is a difficult class I definitely plan on retaking it with her to bring my grade up.

This professor made this class very interesting. I loved the topic she provided for the 4 essays she requires. There was 4 essays over a well known criminal that you get to choose, as well as the book assigned , was extremely interesting. Mrs. Eddy was a good teacher, she calls herself the grammar Nazi. Forewarning if your grammar is not the best. They're 4 essays all on 1 topic, mine was criminal justice and a case. Her final for me was personally the hardest. The study guide was split into 4 parts. A lot of memorizing and studying. The final is all writing, even 2 short essays.

Incredible. Easy to understand, gives helpful and positive feedback. Very prompt in returning emails. Keep your handouts, they will help with quizzes. When given a topic to write about, be sure you are ready to write three separate papers on that person and you have enough info available to you. Would totally take her again!

She is such a nice teacher, very clear on what the assignment, and very accessible. I wanted her to look over my essay the day before it was due so I could make corrections, and she did it. Being a concurrent student and still in high school, this class improved my skills and was not extremely difficult. Just put in the work, and you'll do great.

English is my second language but I have an A in this class. Although her class has a lot of works, it is still easier than other classes to get an A. In my semester, we had a topic theme about "generation". We had quizzes or writing in classes or class discussion almost every class meets, so do not skip. 4 essays, 1 group project,and 1 final essay

Professor Eddy is an amazing person. You write about 4 essays and have assignments over articles pretty much every class. She isn't an easy grader, but she will help you if you need it. The amount of work you have can seem overwhelming at times, but if you stay on top of it you will be fine. You also work in groups a lot. She made the class fun!

I took Wendy for an 8 week online course, the work load was heavy but do able. She provided great feed back with her grading and was fast to respond with emails. She was always so kind and encouraging. I highly recommend this teacher, be prepared to stay busy though.

She gives great feedback and you can have life conversations with her and she is a good listener. In class there are group discussions, group and individual quizzes over book chapters which gives a nice variety .

Her classroom environment is unmatched and basically feels like sitting down and talking with close friends. Her assignments are also almost impossible to miss. Her Bb site is by far the easiest to navigate that I've seen.

Professor Eddy made comp 2 feel more like a criminal justice class. Because of this, it was easy to do research and write essays. There were three main essays throughout the semester with a few smaller assignments and journal entries. Smaller assignments and entries are graded leniently but the essays are graded heavier.

I have now taken Wendy for Comp I and Comp II and I can honestly say, I am sad that I will not have her as my professor again. Best instructor you will ever have. You will have weekly articles to read or a chapter from a book and you will discuss in class, three big writing assignments and weekly journal entries. Instruction and feedback is A++!

I took Professor Eddy's Comp 2 class this past spring. I enjoyed her class. She is a lovely lady! The class itself was centered around Criminal Justice. The only issue with this setup is you may lose interest in the topic fast, so choose something that sparks your interest! Overall, a good class. Put in the work and you'll get a good grade.

The class was not hard. You do a summary of a boring article every week, but the summary is only a paragraph long. You only write three papers altogether. Everything is open note. Alot of points for just showing up to class. I think the max word count on the longest paper was from 1200 to 2000

(For context: I took her 8 week course) Really liked Professor Eddy! The class centered around the modern generations and I'm sure most people found it boring, but I liked it. Loves when you to take a unique angle to your papers. Offers easy extra credit for a max of 30 points. I'd take her again for Comp II if I could wait that long lol.

Ms. Eddy was an exceptional teacher and felt like a mom to me. The essays had a lot of guidelines and grading was tough, but she always gave good feedback to help you better your writing skills. I enjoyed her comp II class because we got to research criminals and write about them.

Professor was so great for such a hard class. Gave out lots of opportunities to get help with your writing and left very detailed comments on essays. Only one or two small things due a week and then a larger essay once every two weeks or so. Do not get lazy and you will do great! Super sweet and understanding.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Her class discussions are so engaging, as well as entertaining. I took both her Comp 1 and 2 classes. Her comp 1 was very simple. It required a lot of summary essays, but they were super fun. Her Comp 2 class is true crime focused and required less writing with a higher word count. Overall an AMAZING PROFESSOR with a fun class!

Professor Wendy is a great teacher. She is a tough grader when it comes to papers but not too bad, just make sure you get extra help on papers such as the writing center! Can't express how much I appreciate this professor. Very encouraging while also giving great feedback. Classes were engaging group discussions, but won't pressure you to talk. Cheery and interested in what you think. Appreciates unusual approaches to assignments. Ended the summer course with a 101% grade. I wish she could teach all my classes.

Eddy was amazing! She helped me become a better writer. I had one other in person class, but hers was the one I showed up for. She is so funny and just an awesome teacher to have. Take her! But you do read a book while in class, it is interesting (not a boring old English book).

I absolutely adore Wendy. She always gives us a substantial amount of time for us to discuss assignments/readings together and listens to all our opinions as well as give feedback. Wendy is also a no-nonsense grader and gives tons of feedback on our assignments which is so helpful for future assignments. Such a sweet lady, 10/10 professor.

Professor Eddy is an amazing lady! She is very caring of her students and knows how to teach. I loved her discussions and her writing prompts were thought provoking. She grades a little tough but she always leaves great feedback and enough feedback to understand her though process. She is a great professor and I highly recommend her.

I took her comp 1 and 2 class and loved both of them. She is bubbly and sweet and I wish I could take more of her classes. You won't regret taking her class

This is my second semester with Wendy and I will miss her so much, I always looked forward to our class discussions. She truly cared about my entire class. In fact, so many students hugged her with tears in their eyes during our last class because she made that much of an impact on us. 10/10 human being and professor.

Very helpful with questions on assignments. Easy to communicate with. Her comp 2 class is challenging and you have to use your time wisely and put in the effort. Absolutely DO NOT plagiarize in her class. If you follow this advice you will pass with flying colors.

I took both comps. one and two with Professor Wendy, and she deserves the 5-star review. Her class was engaging and fun. I looked forward to it each week. All the assignments were short and easy. Essays were time-consuming but never difficult. She gives a week to 2 weeks to write them, and she's always available to discuss 10/10.

This woman is the sweetest ever! I took her summer class, so it was much more fast-paced, but she made it easy to get through. Her comments can come off as a bit passive-aggressive, but it's just constructive criticism. You're set if you know how to take a bit of that. She's super easy to reach outside of class and responds quickly.

Professor Eddy is wonderful - engaging, caring, and great at teaching. Her feedback is tough but super helpful. I found unstuckstudy AI and the free textbook to be great study aids alongside the class discussions. Definitely take her class if you can!

Very clear from the beginning. Will end class early if she gets through all her content so she isn't wasting your time. About 4 big essays but she gives weeks to get it done, all the resources you need, and will respond to emails within the day if not hour on any questions you have. Gives alternate class times if you miss so you can make up points

I loved her class and took her my first semester of TCC. She got straight to the point with assignments, gave you more than enough time to write essays, and was super kind! She answered emails quickly, too! Definitely one of those classes where the effort you put is the grade you will receive!

Wendy is an amazing professor! Attend class, participate, do the work, and it will be hard to get less than an A. I struggled with many personal challenges out of school this semester, turning some major assignments in late or under the required word count, resulting in penalties for not meeting the deadline or requirements. I still received an A.

I cannot say enough about Professor Eddy. She makes me look foward to class and is absolutely amazing at what she does. I took her for COMP I and II and she genuinely builds a bond with each student. She always replies back to emails within minutes during the daytime and right early in the morning if you email her at night. She is phenomenal!!!!

She is so sweet! I always looked forward to going to her class, she does these discussions with articles every week. I'm a shy person and I found myself wanted to participating because she makes you feel so comfortable! Homework is done on blackboard and exam at home! Highly recommend!!

Wendy Eddy was my FAVORITE professor in my 3 years at TCC. Her Composition 1 and 2 classes are phenomenal. You will write a lot, but always about fascinating subjects. She is highly respected and it is easy to see why. I took both COMP I and II. For English, take her class if you have a chance.

I recommend her in the Summer to experience her smaller groups, and if you're introverted, then she'll invite you out of your shell. Teaching is a craft Wendy Eddy has honed, so you'll enjoy her unique lessons whether or not you engage during class. Her assignments aren't frictionless, but she's challenging in a dynamic and supportive way.💪

Professor Eddy was by far one of the most amazing instructors I've had. She provides lots of feedback (I highly recommend saving graded papers to look back on her comments for the next paper) that genuinely improved my writing. From my experience, there are a lot of writing assignments, but they get easier as you go through the class.

Only four papers in Comp 1. She gives clear feedback and her grading expectations are very clearly laid out. She provides instructions, "helpful hints" and a rubric for each paper that make is very easy to score well.

I her 8 week online class and had a really positive experience! She is incredibly nice and gives thoughtful feedback that actually helps you improve. The class includes 4 writing assignments, several reading assignments/quizzes, but nothing that's overwhelming. You can definitely handle it if you stay on top of things. I'd highly recommend her!
