She was a very good professor. Explained the material very clearly and was very helpful outside of class. Only midterm and final and they were not easy. Very long and not enough time to complete them, but the material was fine and if you follow the problems she does in class and go over the homework you will do really well. I would recommend.
Very nice lady.Makes her lectures clear and to the point. The midterm was a disaster but I think she realized that there's no point of giving a test if none can finish it on time.Takes attendance and tests only on stuff that was discussed in class. Would gladly take her again.
Excellent teacher! One of best profs at DePaul. Very clear in her explanations; covers all/only essential material. You will learn substantially. Fair tests and fair grader; focus on your notes. Absolutely recommended!
She is a great prof and makes you understand everything. She explains everything, however, BEWARE, her midterm is long as hell and most likley you will not have time to finish so try your ass offf!!! She only give an hour and a half which sucks!!! on a 12 problem test!!!
Take her if you can. Whatever she teaches during class will be on the midterm. She's very down to earth and nice. You really do need to study for the midterm and final, they were about 12 pages-back to back, but if you study you should be okay. She curves too.
good teacher
Very nice and is easy pretty easy in general but you still have to study alot she will do a little review towards the end for the midterm and final ... take notes. Mid-term was very easy compared how hard the final was .... she curved the class and it was a very nice curve B- was like a 70
Very nice professor. Uses lots of examples in the book and makes everything clear. You have to work because some of the material is difficult, she makes it as easy to understand as possible. Midterm and final are straight from what she teaches but they are long. Would love to take her again. Too bad she doesn't teach 305 instead of Cohen.
Very nice. Going to class is the most beneficial thing to do in her class. Homeworks are easy. She use to curve but the department won't let her anymore
She's awesome! She has outlines for each chapter and the midterm/final are pretty much the handouts. She does a lot of problems during class to help make understanding the material easier. she also has practice tests for midterm/final so study those and you should be fine. would TOTALLY take her again
This teacher is amaaaaaazing. Very little accountind professors with there phd like to dumb things up for you, but she does a great job trying to make everything as clear as possible. Print out the chapter outlines and study them for the midterm and final, do the hw, and the labs and you should get an A. Hw is like 20% of your grade so its helpfull
This professor is great! Simply go to class, print the outlines, print the HW and study it for midterm and final! Don't need to read the book. Simply did that and got an A!
This is the best profeesor that I had at dePaul university. She cares about her students and provide homework that helps you better understand the material. The homework is graded. She's one professor that knows her stuff.
Probably the best professor I have had yet. Extremely clear; I didn't need the book. She does her job and expects you to do yours. Inspired me to pursue a CPA - ACC 102 will be the first time I am going to seek out a specific professor.
She is the best!!! If you have to take Accounting 101, make sure it's with her. Her tests are very to the point, there is HW which is 20% of your grade so if you mess up on the exams, you will be good.
Professor Heltzer is a great asset to the accounting department. No pun intended. She's kind of a rebel and marches to the beat of her own drum. Crystal clear lesson plans, very very predictable homework and grading. Not much else to say. Great class great professor. Take her for ACC101!
had the time and money for a PHD but not cut out to be an acc profesr. Makes you copy down stacks of notes that she rites on the board instead of normally giving printouts like other profsrs.Cohen is better because he actually teaches you real business. All wendy does is say "all rite guys lets get started, if you dont copy notes its disrespectful"
Good Prof
Prof. Heltzer is honestly the BEST accounting teacher. i failed accounting twice before and with her help i got an A!! must take this professor!
Accounting can be a hard subject, especially at an introduction level. Prof. heltzer does an amazing job teaching accounting to intro students. Makes everything crystal. However, dont let this comment and all other comments fool you. You still have to work your ass off in accounting, no matter what teacher you may have.
Did not care 4 her teaching method. She gives hmwk, but not graded and there is only a midterm and final. Does not give notes if u miss class. A lot of writing but no clarification. Very disappointed
amazing
Very good teacher. Very clear. Very available.
The BEST accounting professor I've ever had. There are a lot of class notes but they're really helpful and EASY to understand. One midterm and one final. Study the notes and the practice exams she gives you and you'll be fine. She definitely prepares you for your following financial accounting courses.
1 word......AMAZING! Her teaching method should be set as the standard for the rest of Accounting professors. She should be the head of the Acc. department, she's knowledgeable, intelligent, caring, and very experienced! If i had an accounting firm, she'll be the CEO!
Phenomenol professor! She is smart and knows exactly how to teach accounting so that you understand EVERYTHING! If you pay attention in class and take notes, you are golden! I would take her again in a heartbeat.
She speaks to fast and nonstop. Hard to follow if you are not super focus.
She's very caring and always sending emails (scholarship, clubs, career related stuff). Midterm + Final. She doesn't check attendance so you get 5% FREE to your grade basically (If you don't show up to class and are majoring in ACC you are an idiot.) Has practice midterm and final on web. Mid+Final exact copy of practice tests just worded different
My only complaint is that she should give printed hand outs. It's hard to write notes and listen to wawt she is saying. I don't know wawt stupid researchers made the claim that taking notes help you absorb material, but it DOES NOT WORK.
BY FAR THE BEST PROFESSOR OUT THERE!! If you have had to retake this course take this teacher, she is super easy and explains everything. She even gives you hints on what the midterm and final will be like. There were only 4 F's and the rest were a C and above. AVG midterm grade was a B. Not gonna find that in any other professors class.
She is an amazing professor. Her way of teaching is superb. She has practice finals/midterms on blackboard which are an exact replica of the official final/midterm you will take. The practice tests tell you how to solve every problem so for the real test you just go and follow exact format. If you get less than an A on her tests, change majors.
Prof Heltzer is AMAZING. She is the nicest person, and such an awesome teacher. She is so organized and works so hard to make the accounting concepts clear. Her notes are stellar and she goes above and beyond to help students with anything. Wish I could take her for every accounting class, I will definitely miss her class!
Prof. Heltzer is a really awesome professor, she is crystal clear and if you like accounting you should have no problem with this class. She gives previous midterms & finals to study from and they are very similar to the actual exams.
One of the best professors at Depaul. If you're majoring in Accounting you must take her! She really knows the material and all the short cuts. I'm not saying she's easy but she does prepare you in every way possible. Her lecture notes are crystal clear and she even has practice exams & you have to answer questions in class for grade points
She's great and she almost always lets us out early. and the homework is so easy
She makes everything so clear you dont even need the books, she gives past tests with answers so you are fully prepared. If you dont pass her class... change your major!!
She's a wonderful teacher! SO clear and SO helpful! If you do her extra textbook problems they help a lot, and she responds to emails so fast. And she was VERY helpful and concerned whenever I had q's. Definitely loved taking her she's so encouraging and a wonderful professor!
One of the best professors Ive had. Quickly responds to emails. Sympathizes with students and is interested in having all of her students do the best they can. Teaches really well and really clearly. I would recommend her to anyone.
Take her class! Very clear in her instruction. Lets you know which stuff is irrelevant in actual accounting but is required by the accounting department. One of my favorite professors.
Wendy was an okay professor. She goes through all of the materials way too FAST and cancels one out of two class in the week. Horrible thing since you can't remember things from last class...She has a lot of opinion regarding DePaul and this class. I don't blame her though, ACC101 is so dumb. and the test are standardized.
she is super cool and kinda funny but she teaches way too fast. she usually does cancel one day out of the week which gives no time for review. makes it easier to slack off. and fall behind.
This Professor was only helpful because of the lectures and practice midterm/final she gives out. Other than that, prepare to put a LOT of work in. She goes through the lectures FAST, probably so she can end the class early. However, this is a class where you need all the lecture time you can get.
I really enjoyed her class. I understood everything that was going on. All i did was study the packets she gave us for the midterm and final and received good grades on them. Super nice, taught fast but she gave you everything you needed that you needed on the test. Cancelled class a lot.
Proffessor Heltzer is great! Never tries to trick you. No homework, just midterm and final. Gives you past exams to study from. She goes over things quickly and we often got out of class early, but you learn a lot and she goes through a ton of examples. Her note packets make the material easy to understand. I wish I could take her for 305 and 306!
Professor Heltzer is one of the best accounting 101 teachers at DePaul. If you need to take 101, I would definitely recommend her. Her lecture notes are so clear and very helpful for the homework and exams. Prof. Heltzer made everything crystal clear and she truly cares about everyone in her classes. She gives practice exams for the midterm & final
Professor Heltzer is an amazing teacher!! Her lectures were great, she shows a lot of interest and knowledge for accounting. She gives out these awesome lecture packets which really helped me study for the final and midterm. Accounting in general is tough but she made things clear and was always available when I had questions.
Best professor I have had so far. Clear and concise in what she wants while being able to convey the concepts successfully. No quizzes with short homework assignments. Gives 'additional problems' to prep for midterm and final. Often gives points back if you justify your reasoning.
No quizzes, just midterm, final, and weekly hw. Show up to class, follow her lecture packets, and do the hw. No textbook or access code needed. The hw is just like the class problems. She is the best accounting professor ever! Very clear, concise, and helpful. She lets you out of class early as much as possible. I would take her again and again.
Awesome professor. No homework, just a midterm and final. She gives you previous exams to study from and the exams are almost identical to past exams and problems from class. The material itself is not easy but she explains everything really well and there are no surprises on the tests. Great professor, you don't need the book.
Best professor I have taken in the accounting department. Her tests are not hard as long as you get the lectures. She gives out packets and all you gotta do is study the packet and u get an A. Definitely would take her again. Its shame that she doesn't teach any Acc honor classes.
She is a fireball of a woman. You will have hw but it is very short. She is extremely clear in her lectures as she provides follow-along guided notes (which are SOOO helpful). You will really understand ACC101 after having her. She can get a little defensive if you ask questions, but other than that, she is a great teacher.
She makes accounting a lot easier than most teachers. She knows her stuff and she is very good at teaching. You have weekly homework assignments, but with your notes to help you they aren't too hard. She really cares about her students and how well they do, and I would most definitely take her again. Class always gets out early as well.
She is a great teacher. She makes accounting a lot easier than most teachers. Her notes are super helpful. Class always gets put early but do not skip class.
TAKE HER! Lectures and homework are very clear! She will give you a study guide packet that's essentially the midterm/final! Heltzer is the best ACC 101 professor you can get! Straight to the point, if you have a question she will answer it immediately. Take her if you want an A, but also if u want to learn accounting! BEST ACC PROFESSOR! TAKE HER!
She is such an amazing teacher! She is so clear and helpful! The only thing that sucks is that acc 101 is through the department so she doesn't make her own tests so she doesn't even know whats on it! But she tries to prepare you as much as possible!! LOVE HER
Her structure for class lectures, homework, review, and testing is excellent. She knows what you need to know in order to understand and pass ACC 101, she knows how to teach and relate the information during lectures, and she provides homework assignments that re-affirm the lesson you learned in class without the assignments being too long.
Professor Heltzer is great. She uses handouts every class which cover all of the information needed for the tests so you don't need to buy a book. The grade is made up of a midterm and a final. As long as you study her past tests that she puts on D2l you will do well
I had Professor Heltzer for ACC101 honors and she was my favorite professor this quarter! She teaches the material extremely well. She is funny and entertaining to listen to. If you have to take accounting take it with her!
She is a good teacher, but the accounting department controls the midterm and final in all ACC 101 classes. The tests were hard, but the labs are somewhat help. If you want a A then forget its almost impossible. Take accounting 101 at a community college because the midterm is worth 35% and final 40%. It has the highest failure rate in DePaul.
Very little homework, but just enough to prepare you for midterm and final. She gives handouts on every chapter and you don't need to buy the book.
Professor Heltzer is the best professor I have had at DePaul thus far. She gives out detailed lecture packets, which essentially cover everything you need to know. The homework assignments are really easy if you pay attention in class and go over the packets. She makes accounting easy and prepares you well for the midterm and final. TAKE HER!
Heltzer gives you a booklet of notes. The great thing about her notes is she does the lecture and you fill out the pages alongside the lectures. It keeps the attention on the lecture, but occasionally it's a little bit dull.
Professor Heltzer never use the whole an hour and a half class time. She will split the lectures in half for the week so you are not in class for a long time. She lectures reallllyyy fast so you have to pay attention. Homework is every week and she gives "practice problems" for mid terms and finals. no test and quizzes though
If you have never taken an accounting class, she will not be helpful. She ends class early everyday which is great unless you are lost. You will have to go to tutoring a lot.
First of all, Wendy is sharp and somehow makes accounting look cool. Her lectures are concise and easy to organize because of her note packets that she gives every class. Class ends early basically every day. She randomly says funny sassy things. She's good to take because she's younger and gives a fresh, modern perspective on accounting.
She was a difficult professor to learn from. She is very speedy. Gives you lecture packets so the book is not needed. There are 8 homework assignments. She drops ONE. She does not offer extra credit. Be sure to look at the labs to prepare yourself for the midterm and the final.
She's definitely a great teacher, great sense of humor and I wish she taught acc 102. Attendence is very mandatory and not just because she says so, but because you'll never pass otherwise. She doesn't use the book (i'm grateful). Only 8 homeworks during the whole course. She teaches in a unique way that makes acc 101 simple and precise
Professor Hetzler is very good and knowledgeable.
Professor Heltzer is very knowledgable about accounting. She is very strict when it comes to homework, showing up on time, and using your phone in class, but that's a good thing because you're forced to pay attention to do well. She prints out the notes for us which saves us $200 for buying the book. Accounting is just naturally tough.
Professor Heltzer rushed through the class which sucked because accounting isn't very easy to begin with. The packets she gives are huge, and I didn't feel very prepared for the final as she didn't review very much with us. She also doesn't teach the same way as the other accounting professors. Read the notes after every class if you want an A.
Heltzer's class wasn't bad. All of her lectures are good and she gives really helpful notes. Everything before the midterm perfect, everything after it okay. Really pay attention after the midterm because the notes she gives are different from the labs. She is a good teacher.
She gives you all lecture material you may need, and everything is clearly laid out and presented. She's practical and smart, remember what she doesn't like, it's not that hard and the rest of the class is pretty good
She was all about lectures, however, they were all good!! One homework assignment a week!! You do not have to be into accounting to pass her class! The main thing is that you must pay attention in class in order to truly get everything. She explains everything very well so just listen! The midterm was easy and the final was hard yet I got an A!
Wendy is the best ACC professor at DePaul, she gives notes and practice exams and tells you everything you need to know to be successful in the class. I took her for 101 and 304 and wished she taught more ACC classes!
Prof Heltzer provides note packets and does not require the textbook which is nice. She is very knowledgable about accounting but forgets that all of her students aren't. Do not take her class if you haven't taken an accounting class before. The midterm and final make up 75% of the class so be prepared to study.
Do not try to message her outside of class because she will not respond. Did not return any homework throughout the quarter. Cancelled three classes. Did not teach material on the exams. Take her if you want an easy pass but not if you want a good grade... I think she makes the grades up to suit how much she likes a person
I found Heltzer to be a great 101 teacher. 101's hard -- accounting is almost like learning a new language. Heltzer's lectures were super thorough and precise, but you have to keep yourself engaged (luckily, she almost always ends early). I felt super prepared for the exams, everything on it was covered in lecture or review.
She gives homework every week, which takes you 15-30 mins to do, which I liked. Apart from that, a midterm and a final. Her ACC 101 lectures are pretty straight forward, which I liked too. I strongly suggest studying all the homework, the midterm and final review sheets she gives, and labs. Just read the lectures. You'll get that A. Promise.
Prof Heltzer is a mixed bag. She absolutely flies through lectures which is nice, i got out 45 mins early every singe 90-minute class. But at the same time it can be tough to keep up especially when acc101 is a heavy amount of things to learn. No technology whatsoever, but her lectures and notes require you to pay attention. be sure you can keep up
She is THE BEST prof for ACC 101. She is very clear as to what is going to be on the exam. Doesnt make us buy the expensive connect text which is great! Her lectures go by quick and her teaching is at a proper speed w all the material covered. Hardly a few students failed her class which is rare for an acc class cause usually half the class fails.
Professor Heltzer is the BEST! I had a great time in her ACC 101 class at DePaul. The homework was a great way to reinforce what we learned in class. She always passed back the homework quickly and I used that to study for the midterm/final. I had a good time in class and would definitely take her again.
People who said she is bad dont expect to try hard. She is a pretty straight forward teacher. She gives you the lectures in the easiest way you can learn which can possibly hurt you sometimes because the exams are a bit trickier and not straight forward. This just means you have to review and think outside the box. Only con is drags on grades
If this is your first time taking an accounting class, I would not recommend Heltzer. She isn't a bad professor, but just not very helpful for students who are learning the material for the first time. Teaches like it's a review. Other students in her class who took accounting before though (either in high school or in college) seemed to do fine.
Prof. Heltzer is a real gem for sure! She is very knowledgable in the field and explains the material well. Does not require the textbook as she has her own packet for lectures that she also posts online. She helps you if you have questions and she is very sweet.(you can do well if you skip the class just spend some time outside of class studying)
Great teacher, great at explaining but her study guides do not match the final. Make sure you study the lab handouts. Her study guides are great for understanding the material, but practice using the lab problems for midterm and final. She gives 8 homework assignments and two exams.
Wendy was great to have as a professor. It is a lot of doing work together and taking notes in pre-made packets, which is helpful for me but I know doesn't quite work for every student. She's also very funny and never uses the book which saved us all a lot of money (though she will inform you that it's technically required you never use it).
Pre-made packets, no textbook. Lectures took 45-70 minutes and shed let us go early. I had never done any accounting class before, so I did use flash cards to study and repeated practice problems over and over. I spent much more time out of class than in class working on study materials. Exams will feel difficult but she gives review days!
She was a great teacher, but this course was somewhat difficult for being my first accounting course. There were many lectures and packets to fill. If you miss one thing, you most likely will not know what is going on. I'd suggest another prof. if you have no experience at all.
As far as ACC professors go, Heltzer isn't bad. She's not the worst but not the best. Classes are very lecture heavy and her notes can be extremely confusing at times. Class was standard 50% midterm and final. Curve was nice but the exams are long and hard. Your gonna have to spend a very large amount of time studying outside of class. Good luck !
Good professor, explained the concepts well. The class itself is difficult and her exams are not the easiest. If you attend lectures and read the book you should be fine.
Prof. Heltzer is what you would expect a higher-level ACC professor to be like. Lecture heavy and test heavy. Easily one of the hardest classes I've taken in college. Barely managed to survive her exams and since the class is 50% midterm and 50% final you better spend a long time studying. Her exam format is also very tricky and confusing. RUN!!!
She is alright, would prefer a professor who is nicer to students and doesnt make it feel like an obligation to be understanding.
Very informative & knowledgeable. Responds to emails. Cares about her students.
She’s not the easiest option, but if you need to understand Accounting I’d highly recommend Professor Heltzer. The syllabus did include a number of questions you weren’t allowed to ask, so if you asked for extra credit it was a point off your final grade. If you’re able to look past that though, she’s a very skilled instructor.
Professor Heltzer is a very straightforward teacher. The material can be difficult, but her lecture examples make it easier to follow. The homework is not too difficult if you pay attention to the lectures. The lectures sometimes go up to 20 minutes long, but they help with understanding the material. Long lectures, but good class.
Prof Heltzer was amazing. As long as you attend/watch lectures and take notes on her pre-annotated notes sheets, you’ll be fine. I spent maybe 2 hours a week in this class. Way better than 101. Lectures are very easy to follow. TAKE HER!
Prof Heltzer remained lenient and understanding throughout the entire quarter of 2022 and gave us the choice to either watch her lecture videos on our own time or come to class to learn the material. I learned much more through the lecture videos and her lecture outline handout than I understood in the lecture sessions in class in ACC 101.
Very easy class, she puts out lecture recordings if you can’t make it to class or do it on your own, very helpful also print out the assignments it makes it easier
As someone who did awful in acc 101, this class was a breeze. Professor Heltzer provides super detailed notes through lectures, doesn't require attendance, and makes quizzes the same as the homework. Although you may have to put work in to understand some concepts it's an easy A. Definitely recommend taking her!!!!!!
Awesome teacher with clear lectures. Learned a lot in her class.
Prof. Heltzer is very caring and helpful. Attendance was optional and she uploaded useful video lectures online. I would still recommend going to class as the in person lectures are very helpful and she often lets class out early. Midterm/final were both online, open note/book, and very similar to the review guide, video lectures, and homework.
Wonderful professor. Definitely would take her again.
Prof. Heltzer's online lectures are amazing! They are long but you learn everything you need to succeed on the homework (more like quizzes) and exams. She is so funny and makes ACC 304 enjoyable. 10/10 recommend her. You will learn so much and do great if you take notes while watching the lectures.
She is tough, the class is tough, but very straight forward. She does not beat around the bush at all. She lectured for like 20-25 mins every class, covered the key points of each chapter, & ended early every day. Everything is through D2L, so just make sure you understand the material. Don't miss any hw! She will not care even if it's life/death.
She lectures very fast but has additional videos online if anything is confusing. Homework and tests were online and everything was similar to in class lectures.
Attendance isn't mandatory and all lectures are online, same with finals, quizzes, and midterm. If you don't understand something she's really great at helping you inside and outside of class time. Take her she's a great accounting professor.
Her teaching style is directed towards people who are quick learners. Prof. H isn't necessarily bad but I couldn't learn a single thing from her just reading off of her notes/overviews. But if you have a previous understanding of the concepts, this class shouldn't be too bad for you. She's also VERY stingy with due dates.
Professor Heltzer informs what is expected in the course. 5% Lab Grade, 20% HW, 35% Midterm, 40% Final. Online vids are provided for each lecture which is extremely helpful. If you don't understand something, refer back to the videos. Exams are formatted very similarly to labs. Don't take the class if think you can just wing it, this isn't a GenEd.
Professor Heltzer's class was pretty laid back and simple to learn basic accounting. Attendance is not required. Midterm and final are both difficult. The weekly lab was pretty simple. Wish she would go a little more in depth in understanding more of the sheets and some concepts. Homework can be a bit tough when coming to the balance statements.
TAKE HER!! She is an amazing professor who knows accounting well. She ends class very early around 40-50 min every day. No textbook is needed and homework is on D2L. The final and midterms are both online and outside of class. It was all the material we learned. She is delightful and this class is worth it for accounting and non-accounting majors!
Professor Heltzer is great at explaining accounting concepts. She's patient, and she's happy to answer questions and rework examples. Class often ends early as she can go fast at times, but completed notes packets and videos are available on D2L.The midterm and final are weighted heavily, but you will be prepared for them.
I'm amazed that she has over 4 stars in rating. I would never recommend this class with this professor to ANYONE. Just take this class with a different professor, its not worth the money.
If you're a non-accounting major, this class is for you! She always ends almost an hour early every day. She gives packets online to write notes on for the lectures with fill-in-the-blanks. Homework is on D2L with several attempts no need to buy cengage. final and midterm are online, 5 days to do both. Take her if you can, shes one you can't miss!
Wendy Heltzer is the best Accounting professor at DePaul. Her lectures are insightful and straightforward. She also has the strongest background of any professor at DePaul. Make sure to take any class she teaches. Super responsive after class and always willing to meet with students
This is THE BEST accounting professor at DePaul. Her lectures are straightforward and concise. She will answer questions logically and engage with students. Very easy to teach outside of class. I wish I could take her for all my classes. The best of the best. She also has the most impressive background of all the Accounting teachers!
This is the best Accounting professor at DePaul hands down. She made the content very clear and concise. Easy to understand the concepts of the course and was super flexible in meeting students outside of class. She was very kind to extenuating and adapted some of the deadlines for myself. Sign up for her class. She is the best!
I love professor Heltzer so much. She is the best there is when it comes to teaching accounting because of how clear and concise she teaches. She makes things practical and realistic. Her tests were all online and she made sure to prepare you for every problem you will get. I wish I could take her for all my accounting classes!
This was one of the easiest business classes I have taken at DePaul, not because of the content, but because Wendy Heltzer taught in a clear and concise way. She walked step by step of what different concepts meant verbally, she would then explain it with numbers. She answered questions very quickly and made time to meet outside of class. TAKE HER
ACC 304 is supposed to her very difficult but Professor Heltzer made this very simple and straightforward. Every concept is also available in videos she has made. Her notes are amazing and made learning and following along very easy. She also has an impressive background and ties some concepts to her research
This class was moderate in difficulty but achieveable through the class structure. This was my first A in accounting thanks to Professor Heltzer's teaching. Her lessons are clear, to the point, and each topic is taught in different ways. She was super willing to answer questions and make time for students. The most straightforward professor for 304
This was my favorite accounting class ever. This professor was so kind and helpful outside of class. She creates a weekly note packet that we use to follow along with class lectures. Every topic is explained qualitatively and quantitively. Midterm and final were online. Best option to take ACC 304
Very kind and understanding professor. She will go out of her way to make sure students succeed. Her lectures are super straightforward and the class is comprised of weekly homework with online midterm + final. She made sure to stay after class and answer any questions about the class or what was on students mind. Wendy is the best there is!
This was the most straightforward upper-level class I have ever taken. The professor gave out a clear note outline each week. Would explain each topic with words and numbers. All homework is online with an online midterm and final. She was willing to meet outside of class and took time to make sure I understood every concept. Very caring person!
This was my favorite professor at DePaul so far! In all of my technical classes, professors can sometimes lose track of what they're teaching but never professor Heltzer. She made everything as clear as possible and takes time to explain problems until you understand. Midterm and Final are online. She has online videos too. Take this section of 304
Best professor for accounting at DePaul. Whether you are an accounting major or not she makes the course so easy and simple. She really cares about your learning and will meet outside of class. Her notes are all that. Made learning the concepts super simple and easy!
Professor Heltzer is the best. She made the class so interactive while keeping things to the point. Her notes are the best thing I've ever had in a business class. When I did not understand something, I watched her videos on D2L or would set up a time to meet with her. Online midterm and final. This class is all that!
I loved taking this class! This course was structure in lectures with note packets, then online homework, and an online midterm and final. Professor Heltzer was always willing to meet outside of class and explain the concepts until I understood them. She was also super flexible when I had circumstances pop up. She is the one to take!
Super nice professor! I loved this accounting class and she made the content super straightforward. I hope to take more of her classes in the future! She had open office hours and made so many efforts to help students outside of class. The best professor at DePaul hands down!
She is a great professor. Go to class and pay attention and you'll do fine. There are two exams, none of them are cumulative, and homework assignments for each chapter. I'd recommend her!
Prof. Heltzer is once of the nicest and most genuine professors I have taken a class with at DePaul so far! Class was pretty easygoing, one weekly homework assignment and midterm & final exams. Spent class talking about that weeks chapter and then showed videos that tied in with the content. Easy A and really great professor!
Great professor for ACC 304. Made the content of the class easy to understand and was willing to pause the lecture to help students with their struggles. I will say that it is hard to hear her at times because she talks quietly. Definitely recommend this professor for ACC 304.
If you need an amazing professor that will teach you everything about accounting and simplify it, take her. She is literally so amazing, intelligent, and inspirational. Just show up to class, pay attention, and go over homework before your exam and I promise you will get an A. She is literally so amazing.
Professor Heltzer is so sweet and caring! Her lectures are easy to understand and she uses plenty of examples. The class can be hybrid so you watch lectures beforehand, but it was never too lengthy. She often goes over homework in class. There is a short and open note midterm and final. Take her!
Professor Heltzer was an amazing professor! She is extremely knowledgeable and does a wonderful job of making accounting easier to understand and conceptualize. She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I would gladly take another course with her!
I took ACC 101 & 102 with Dr. Heltzer and she was great! These classes are difficult weed out classes, especially if you're new to the topic. She does her very best to give you every resource and opportunity for additional help. Nice woman, class is a bit lackluster but it's a hard topic to make exciting. Content heavy, you WILL need to study 100%
Prof. Heltzer makes accounting approachable. Lectures are concise, and she's happy to clarify concepts. The online assessments are fair and aligned with the material. unstuck ai was a great supplement for study prep.
Honestly take her if you need to take Accounting 102. We left class an hour early every day; the final and midterm were online, and she was so sweet and interactive. She would have weekly slides for the lecture and showed us how to solve problems. I would recommend her to any and everybody. Best Professor I've had so far!
She is a great person and I recommend her class to anyone. Take her class. She is very nice and is a great teacher. The midterm and the final are on D2l.
Prof Heltzer is very kind and understanding. She makes the lectures straightforward and easy to follow. She also has the lectures posted online for review. She's always willing to meet and help students. I highly recommend taking if your looking for someone very knowledgeable as well. She teaches at UPenn and UChicago
If you're an accounting major you won't really learn in this class to be honest. If not, this class is free.
Prof. Heltzer is the most straightforward in the accounting department. Her lectures are very clear and easy to follow. She also has the best guides. There are online videos for each part of the guide should you run into any issues. She is always happy to meet outside of class!
