one of the best profs i have ever had. i actiually learned quite a few things, as opposed to other core classes.

Prof. Lym is great. Make sure you use all the time she gives you to work on eassys and do the homework papers she gives you. They will help you in the end. Make sure to ask questions if you do not understand, she will help. All in all it was hard, but worth it. You will learn the right and wrong ways to write an essay in her class.

I don't know what the negative comments are about, but Lym is extremely helpful and is willing to explain anything. I took the DL class and she was very fast in responding and you get 100s on the analysis of works basically if you do them and give a good opinion.

Prof. Lym is one of the best professors I've ever had at ACC. Lot's of negative comments posted here, and it only makes me wonder if some of these folks were procrastinators who wanted a high school teacher. Attend, Listen, Participate, Turn in all your assignments (nothing late is accepted!), and you will have success. She's awesome.

This class was great. Took it online. Prof Lym was prompt with grades, responds quickly to email, provides regular updates and new information. If you follow her guides and do the reading you will pass her class with ease. But you do have to do the work. I loved this class and recommend her!

I just finished her online course for Intro to literature...she is very organized and it is easy to stay on track for her course. She was very helpful and replied to emails quickly. I would definitely recommend her!!

English is not an easy course but she makes it so easy to underastand and explains step by step i loved going to her class! I am taking her for english 1302 her energy really gets you and makes the lecture very entertaining!

She's a wonderful teacher, very fun and easy to follow. It's a hard class but she gives you lots of support and never acts condescending or frustrated. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Very knowledgeable and her obvious passion for the material is contagious. This causes her to lecture in a very animated way which is problematic for some, but not myself. Her tests (only 2) are challenging and difficult to prepare for, but her grading on my 2 short papers was generous beyond what they deserved. And she is a very cheerful person.

i took her for an intro to lit class. she is a very nice proffesor but her tests are extremly hard. If you aren't good at memorzing anythin don't take her. you have to take your tests at an acc testing center....not an easy class. if you want easy take someone else

Best instructor I've had in college. She gives prompt, helpful and supportive feedback. She was incredibly clear with the requirements and how to make an "A". Her assignments are interesting and thought provoking- I looked forward to them and they were a "break" from my other courses. I wish that I could take more classes with her.

She is animated, fun, and very passionate about her teachings.. I loved taking her class.. I even took another class because SHE taught it!

She is brilliant and makes the material interesting and fun. The class is pretty hard due to the time periods that we studied. Overall she's a great teacher, but if you are looking for a "blow off" class it's not one to take. She does grade fairly hard and her tests are challenging and lengthy. I highly recommend her!

Professor Lym's class is very interesting and fun. She taught me a lot about writing and the world around me. Some other students in the class felt she rambled too much, but I found her intriguing. I did feel lost on a few papers, but she is very approachable for help, and I utilized the learning lab and made A's.

She's amazing! She makes the material relatable and is super easy to approach with questions. You need to do the work in her class in order to make a good grade, but it's not hard material, nor is it a lot.

First off Professor Lym, is a tough grader. HOWEVER, as long as you turn in a rough draft you can get one-on-one help to redo each paper. She's ALWAYS willing to help and answers her emails quickly even on weekends. Her writing guides list exactly what you need. She's really funny and laid back. And you can finish the class early if you want too.

Prof Lym is incredible. She goes out of her way to help the entire class with amazing study sessions and will even rent rooms to watch reading-relevant movies. Her tests are works of art. Although they're a little tough, she is there for you every step of the way. I wish she could teach all of my classes. INCREDIBLE WOMAN

I really enjoyed this course. Lym is nice and very helpful. She has created useful annotations and PPTs for difficult readings. She responds to emails quickly and returns graded assignments quickly. Her grading for papers is on the tough side but she makes it easy to understand the material so that you can write an A paper. Do the LLTs.

She is funny, approachable, has handouts to make difficult concepts simpler, and has a magnetic way of teaching. She is a tough grader on papers, but if you listen to her feedback, you'll be a much stronger writer by the end of the semester. If you do poorly on a paper, she lets you rewrite it. I can't say enough good things about Prof. Lym!

Had a hard time understanding what she wanted, but if you just ask she will explain it a little more without being mean about it.

One of the best educators at ACC in my opinion. She is passionate about teaching and loves to hear your ideas and help you. If I could take every English class with her I would. The essays aren't the easiest but they make you a better writer. Loved this class!

I can't say enough about how much I love prof. Lym. She's funny, sweet, helpful, and will spend hours working with you. Work hard and talk with her and you'll get an A no problem. She likes joking around but don't be rude. Speak up in class and she'll be more likely to give you an A. I would take over and over and over again! P.s. she loves booze.

She is very caring. Her lectures are very concise. She helps you thoroughly. Takes her time until you've got it. It's a few essays then a research one at end. You have to pay attention. You need the book too.

Professor Lym is the best professor I've had so far. She makes literature fun and relatable. She's really cool and wants you to learn. Reading and understanding material is essential to passing so you have to read and show up to class everyday. She's also really helpful

She is extremely helpful and very clear on what she expects in Brit Lit. She is very funny and upbeat. its an easy class if you just do the work. if you dont do the reading notes, it the only thing that keeps students accountable for your readings and help on tests. She is also willing to meet the class to help the whole class for a study session.

Gives good feedback on assignments and papers. Comp 2 had optional homework (taken online over summer). If taking online, it's a lot of work very fast. Optional homework helped with writing papers. Fair grading. Responds to e-mail almost immediately. 4 papers were only grades.

Her online class was very well organized on Balckboard. Instructions were very clear. Assignment topics were well thoughtout--completely relatable. She responds to emails very quickly. Her critiques on my papers made me more confident while pointing out things i didnt realize I lacked. I loved her class!

Her instructions are exceptionally clear. she lays out everything you would need to know on blackboard. That she is great about, however the test are very difficult you need to know all the material inside and out. The poetry exam will kill your grade. She is very nice and will work with you however. Just be prepared to do alot of work.

I took the online class Am Lit II 2328 - Mentally challenging class but covered the material very well. Enjoyed the class. Just do the work and you will do well. Papers are graded hard, but when you make an A, you know you have earned it. Loved the class and sad to see it end. Only 2 test (but they are tough) and 3 papers. Weekly homework.

I loved Prof. Lym! She is so nice and truly cares about her student's success. Her grading was tough but i never made below a B on any of the papers we had to write. She's very funny and makes class fun and interesting, i actually enjoyed going to class. Would for sure take again.

Great professor -- very responsive, accessible, open to questions, and appreciates feedback. She is also a very tough grader who expects you to spend the time to learn. Tests are based on Study Guides, and she encourages you to check in during office hours. No pushover by any means, but you will appreciate literature, which is the point!

Professor Lym truly cares about her students' success and will work with you on your assignments as much as you ask her to. She is a wonderful and caring professor, but she is also a highly tough grader and you will have to work for a good grade. You should expect to conference with her regularly and revise your papers many times if you want an A.

Mrs. Lym made English Comp 2 an enjoyable class! We wrote over interesting short stories in our book and she gave a straightforward approach to writing papers. She's there to help you if you put the effort in. She gave helpful feedback to improve my writing and I would definitely take her again!

I have taken her for both english composition classes and she has been amazing! She gives her students plenty of chances to improve their grades as long as you are willing to put all your effort forward. She is so funny!

Prof. Lym is super enthusiastic about literature so there's never a dull day of class. She's a very reasonable professor in terms of grading criteria on papers and exams and work given. She tries her best to make sure her students understand each text . Overall, she's just fantastic, and I recommend everyone to take a literature class with her!

Fast paced class, do not get behind. Late papers receive a "0", and any "0" will disqualify a student from taking the Final. Students not taking the Final immediately fail the class. Papers can be time-consuming but Prof. Lym presents the material clearly. Feedback is helpful and fast. You're allowed re-writes on some papers for a better grade

Prof Lym will make you a better writer. Point blank. She will tear your essays apart until you're doing university-level work. I thought I was good already, now I know I'm prepared. - Rewrite essays for a new grade - Available in office hours - Great speaker, makes it fun - Really cares - Not too much reading Take her if you want to improve.

She's a wonderful teacher and super sweet. She will bend over backwards to help you out. I'd definitely take her class again!

Took an online 5.5 week course for English Comp 1. There is a paper due every week (4 total), then you have to write a paper for the final exam in the testing center. She allows rewrites on the first 3 papers and on the final exam, but you must complete certain assignments to be eligible for rewrites.

Prof. Lym was amazing! She cares about what she teaches and strives to be reasonable with her students. There were six papers total for a 5.5-week course which seems like a lot, but if you keep up with the reading and assignments, you'll be fine. Pay close attention to grammar and always double check citations (in-text as well).

You can really tell she cares about her students, she truly wants us to learn. She has a great rewrite policy which allows for second chances and can really improve your grade. Her blackboard site is very organized and it was easy to find what was due and when. Low amount of assignments, but the ones that were assigned took a little bit of time.

Definitely a tough grader. Even using her feedback directly made it difficult for me to get more than a B-.

The class is hard and very reading extensive. The language can be hard to decipher at times, although she does a great job breaking everything down. She is patient and knows what she is talking about. I loved her so much that I took an elective with her called Sex and Transcendence.

I took her class for dual credit over the summer, great teacher, genuinely cares about her students and wants them to pass.

I took American Literature II online with Professor Lym. She expects a lot from her students and there is a lot of reading required, but she knows her subject, teaches it in an entertaining way, and gives excellent feedback. It was the most entertaining and informative class I have taken online.

One of the best English Prof's I've ever had. Tough grader, but gives amazing feedback. You'll most definitely improve your writing if you work on what she tells you to fix. Lot's of reading. You'll have to work for an A but she gives you a chance to rewrite most papers. Easy C if you're already a decent writer and follow her outlines.

You are going to want the extra credit for your final grade. Expects a lot from her students but is also supportive and makes English enjoyable. Considerable amount of group and partner work when reading and analyzing texts. Essay heavy and picky about what you turn in. Somehow always has energy. Respected professor.

If you are a decent writer you will get a good grade. I read all of these reviews before taking the class and was convinced I was going to get bad grades on all my papers but got an A on everyone without having to do any rewrites. She also has extra credit opportunities for every paper and allows rewrites up to an A. She is nice and helpful.

In my first paper, I received a low C. I was given the option to retake after a conference, I then made an A on the re-write. (: I was able to do so because of her critical but positive feedback. Before this class, I didn't know where I fell short, but now I do, and not only do I write better but my process of critical thinking has become sharp.

Just a really great professor all around. Writing essays isn't my favorite thing, but she gives you everything you need to succeed if you're willing to put in the time and effort. Plus, she's super kind and you can tell she really does want her students to do well in her class. She lets you do rewrites too, if you need them!

The only grades are the papers that you write but you have ample opportunity to rewrite them. She will have a conference with you and talk to you about what to improve. When you get a new grade it will be a whole new grade not an average or anything which makes it relatively easy to get an A if you try. She's also super nice and helpful.

Prof Lym wants her students to do well. If a student pays attention, puts effort into the assignments, and manages their time well, an A is absolutely attainable. She is also very accommodating when it comes to hurdles such as online learning and learning disability accommodations. Good texts, funny, insightful, all-around great prof.

Im going to be completely real with yall. This class was the hardest class I have ever taken. Prof Lym grades so so hard. But, heres the thing: if you schedule weekly meetings with her and ask her to look over your essays BEFORE you turn them in, itll help you get a good grade. She also allows rewrites! I worked very hard and finished with a 94

She's a really good choice for English Comp 2. Tough grader and gives great feedback because she wants you to be a great writer. Don't recommend if you're looking for an easy A with no effort; she's gonna make you work for your grade. That being said, if you follow instructions and take time on your papers, it'll be a pretty good class.

Very nice professor shows she cares. Very available during and after class. Lectures are not that boring. Tests are really easy, but a lot of papers to write. Assignments were simple. She grades very well and gives excellent feedback to correct your assigments. Would reccomend.

I took 1302, with Wendy on the suggestion of some friends, and shes amazing. She is passionate about teaching with a real speciality in helping non-traditional students like myself. 10/10 will definitely take her again.

A lot of comments say that she is a tough grader, which I disagree with. I did most of the papers last minute, thrown together, and never got below a B. She doesn't throw out A's very often but she also doesn't throw out below B's often. She also is a very thorough teacher. This is a friendly laid back easy pass class. light and fun.

We only had to turn in a few things (4 papers) , the paper assignments are very easy and she lets you revise them. Im not the best in english but she was a Very sweet professor, gave good feedback and i really wish i could take her again.

English isn't my best subject, but Lym made it bearable! There's only four essays and little extra credit. She gives you the opportunity to rewrite essays 1-3 for a better grade (which helped my grade a LOT). She is always available to discuss essays & give extra feedback. Would definitely recommend for Comp 1301!

Professor Lym is who you want if you wish to succeed in life. Even if you don't like English, this class teaches you that it is ok to be wrong and encourages you to keep trying until you get it right. Once you get it right you're good to go! I didn't agree with her much on political topics but that's ok! Great professor!

Professor Lym makes students work for their grades, but is fair. In the 1301 I took she allowed students to turn in a rough draft for feedback before the final paper. She was very knowledgeable and available outside of class. I wish I had known the theme of the class before going though, as there were issues with that personally for me. 5/5

One of my favorite professors I've ever had. She's a tough grader, but if you really try, you'll at least end up with a B. She is hilarious and so understanding and kind. Lectures are interesting because she knows the audience she's teaching to. Cannot recommend her more!!!

Professor Elle (name changed) was an excellent professor, I wish I could take her again. She is engaging and funny and really cares about what she teaches. She can be a bit of a tough grader, but she's fair and really wants you to succeed.

Wendy is a tough but fair grader who really wants her students to succeed. Her lectures are engaging, and the course material is challenging but rewarding. I found unstuck study and the textbook super helpful for studying and preparing my papers.

Wendy wants you to learn. My favorite part of her teaching was the descriptive instructive steps paperwork for building each paper she gave. If you follow them exactly the paper writes itself. focuses on building a heavy outline so when you go to write you dont have to think to hard! Trust in the process. Sweet, caring and patient.

You do need to put in effort in this class. She really values student engagement, like class discussions and connecting ideas from earlier assignments. She clearly wants her students to succeed. There is a lot of reading, but most assignments focus on sharing your own thoughts and interpretations rather than memorizing material for quizzes.
