She is the worst teacher ever! she doesn't teach, you need to learn college algebra on your own in her class
SOO BORING!! she doesnt even teach. grab the syllabus the first day and go to class when there is tests. you will not learn anything in class, you need to learn it all on your own. i dont know how she calls herself a teacher
I thought she was very helpful. She teaches at a college pace, and is always available for outside help.
she is a very boring teacher, but she is extremely helpful, and explains the problems if you need help.
She was a pretty good teacher, a little boring but never anything unexpected. The practice test are exactly like the real test!
She is kinda boring, but very helpful, the test is the exact study guide she hands out, attendance isnt manditory which is nice..she has all her notes on line if you need them.. i would take her again
Has no clue how to teach, just shows powerpoint slides and does not explain. Skips steps in problems, confusing everyone. When she does problems on the board, it's better, but she rarely does this. Doesn't care about students, sits there doing powerpoint with apathetic look on her face.
Tests are exactly like the study guide, and she is not strict on attendance. Not the clearist teacher though.
super nice lady. i sometimes got confused. she is willing to help anyone who needs it. attendance not required.
Keeps it nice and simple - just the way I like it. Tests are REALLY easy!
if you dont pass her class its because you dont go at all. she is a good teacher and people tend to take advantage of her. if you go and pay attention even just when she gives her review for the test an "A" shoule be easy, but a "B" is definite!
Perry is an awesome teacher, not only is she very easy, and she basically gives you the answers to all of her test, but all you have to do is show up to class and you'll get an 'a'. Math has always been super hard for me, and my grade is an a+
She's awesome. Attendance is not mandatory, she doesnt give homework, her tests only have 12 questions and they are super easy!
Easiest math class I have ever taken. One of the nicest professors at this school and the most hopeful. The class before the test you do a pre-test which is pretty much the same thing as the test. Easy class for all.
She is wonderful! Very helpful, responsive to any questions you have, and is concerned with student progress. I was scared to take this class at first, but she made it so enjoyable and I learned a lot. I would definitly take prof. perry if you can!! Also, she is extremely patient and gives bonus points for participation :) They help on the tests
Good teacher, she explains the problems in the test and makes them clear and easy to understand. you go over the problems for the test in class step by step, so you cant fail. i suggest you take her for math, shes easy to understand.
she was my favorite teacher this semester. very nice
Great teacher!! very helpful...i recommend this class to any no-math major....very easy really and takes the time to help the students!!!
Complicated to understand, moved to quickly, unwilling to review information she covers, attitude problem.
Great Professor!! Although has an attitude some days..she's a great teacher! Don't buy the book, she does great power points. Tests are super easy if you do the practice tests!
Prof Perry is the best math teacher that i've had. The class and the lessons are very simple. She gives a practice test that's just like the real exam and bonus point when you bring the powerpoint lesson to every class. It should be easy to get an A in this class. I would love to take another class from her!
Very easy class if you show up. The problem is half the class showed up because she said we didnt have to and then when you did come to class she'd make you stay after.
Very easy class. I'm terrible with math, but she explained the material very well. Everything she teaches builds upon what you learned previously, so you remember the material easier. Also, you get bonus points for printing out the powerpoints. Very good professor.
Gives powerpoints for extra credit if you fail a test she will remove you from BB. Serious Attitude problems, sarcastic, insulting, innappropriate and unprofessional. Could be easy or hard depending on if she likes you or not. Takes it way too far for a basic class... Take another professor
I didnt really get math before her, she makes everything so easy to understand. she has her own little ways of solving proplems that make so much more sense than the book way. She was nice to me..go to class, it helps. practice test is just like the actual test so keep re-doing it until ur comfortable with how to do it.
I'm surprised when reading everyones reviews that so many people liked her. Granted I had her at 8am, but she was just awful. She tried being witty and bringing one down in a degrading way. Her powerpoints suck; Lindsay points? No college professor should have mistakes in their lesson as it is. I failed because of her horrible teaching skills.
Pretty good professor. She gives you a lot of extra credit opportunity (up to 10 pts on each test) which is awesome. She has her moody days but its not too often. Don't buy the textbook she has power points that give you enough practice. It was an easy class, easy A. As long as you do the practice tests and understand them you should ace the tests!
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! In high school I have always aced math. I took precalc in high school. I had to drop this class. She doesnt even write on the board.. the math problems "appear" throughout the powerpoint. She goes way too fast, and your grades in the class are determined by five tests. She always makes mistakes and is sloppy.
She isn't allowed to use practice tests anymore, but now has a review which have problems similar to her tests. Breaks everything down easily but can move a bit fast. If you do good on her tests she'll bring in food sometimes. I recommend her for this class.
Granted it being a summer class... there is too much material to be put in a 6-week class. Your grade is based on 5 tests and your homework grade replaces your lowest test grade. The homework is online, and makes you answer the ?'s in a totally different way the how she teaches in class. No book though.
overall amoung the easiest professors ive ever had at UT. there is a lot of material but she gives good reviews and if you do them over and over you will have no problem with the test. all notes are power points so if thats your style take her. but overall a good class pretty easy. ive heard worse about other math classes.
She is very rude. She basically does nothing she flips through power points that are off a disc. she treats students with NO respect whatsoever.
she sucks at teaching what she will put on the test.. no graphing calculator for graphing problems..
She's an okay teacher, the homework is really easy to get an A on, which is worth a test grade. She does go kind of fast, but gives powerpoints which you can look at while doing hmwk or studying.
He moves quickly and relies very heavily on her powerpoints. Without them, you will not pass the tests. MyMath Lab, where you do homework, is terrible! The notation is so picky that it takes forever to complete. Also, test questions never come from homework.
Easy class. She uses powerpoints in every class and covers them quickly, but they are well-organized so they are quite good at teaching us all the formulas and rules. The homework is easy to get 100% on and is 1/6 of our grade. The people who complain are probably the people who skip class, so go to class and you should do just fine.
she is not a nice lady. i do not recommend.
Very difficult to follow and understand. Uses only powerpoints and generally does not answer questions. Test questions come from material not covered in class. Do not recommend taking classes from this teacher. She is not nice, either.
She's really an awful teacher. She's way too fast and refuses to answer questions. The only reason I'm doing well in the class is because of MyMathLab. No help from her. I don't understand how she was hired.
Horrible class, tests and assignments have nothing to do with the homework which is online and extremely time consuming. Exams are over completely different material and so you will fail them. Avoid at all costs!
She is a very organized teacher, all her classes are on powerpoint which makes it very easy to follow and understand. If you go to class and do the homework you will do great. She is helpful whenever you need help. I took more than one class with her and she was great!
I had professor Perry for Math 150 and 160.Her way of presenting and her little "tweeks" in her power points made math interesting.Once you follow her slides, and YOU do the work everything will be fine. She was very helpful and once you ask for help she WILL help. I am not saying the exams were not difficult, but it is up to you put in the work.
I took her for 150 and 160. She was very helpful and really helped me find new ways to understand math. She expects her students to do the work she assigns. If you do the homework and come prepare you will get an A. She is always willing to answer questions. I went to her office hours a couple times and before or after class.
I took her for math 160 and it was downright terrible. She makes the class ten times harder than it shoud be. She's an arrogant old lady, goes too fast during class, doesn't answer questions. I asked a question during class and she responds "look in your notes." What kind of help is that? There's a math 160 class offered on saturdays. Easy A
Her passion and enthusiasm proved that she was actually there for the student. Also, that seeing us learn and helping us improve was what she prides herself on and is a number one priority. Her knowledge of the subject matter was consistently validated as students would ask for different explanations for the same problem
She is a excellent teacher. I enjoyed the different methods and tricks that made College Algebra seem easy to understand and sometime even fun. She is always willing to help her students. I continue to this day to use some of the math tricks Professor Perry taught me and I appreciate having her as my math professor.
I never took Algebra before and Professor Perry genuinely cared that I succeed. I thoroughly enjoyed her class as it was always interactive. Every class has a PowerPoint that has practice problems and explanations. She was always available for extra help. Her teaching methods really work.
She taught the material in such a way that it clicked, better than my high school teachers. I loved Professor Perry because of her personality and willingness to help all the students. She explains material in a way that high school students could understand. I know because I was dual enrolled in her class.
Great teacher. Wants you to succeed in the class. Very clever with her material. Easy to understand.
She is a great teacher IF you pay attention in class. If you miss a day and don't read the textbook or ask for help, you will be behind. She knows what she is talking about and is willing to clarify anything that is needed. I definitely recommend and would take again.
Best Math teach at the school. Took business calc last semester and failed, retaking it with her and I have an A.
Professor Perry is a great professor. She knows what she is talking about, and knows how to teach it in multiple different ways if you are confused. Don't think about skipping class or you will fall behind, and she doesn't have very accessible office hours for extra help.
Never had a professor that is more rude, confusing, and unwilling to help students. You will ask her a question and she won't answer or she will laugh at students in their faces in front of the whole class. She doesn't take time to explain and the lectures are so confusing. Only good thing is that tests have review. If you take her, good luck.
The rudest professor I've ever had. Doesn't know how to explain things and have even gotten frustrated when you ask a question. I guessing it's her old age. Good luck taking her.
imo, didn't really teach. Just kind of read the book to us in class and really didn't learn anything. She flies through material. Would switch to a different teacher if I was you. I had to drop the class because I just wasn't getting it and the class average of the second test was a 60.
she is actually rude and if you ask her a question she will say she doesn't have time for it. you will also never meet her outside of class time and she for no reason will round a .99 down. I actually understood the material and she would take off pointless points off tests if work wasn't the exact steps that she wanted that weren't even needed.
The worst Professor I have ever taken at UT. Rude is an understatement when it comes to her. Her grading rubric is completely different than any other teacher and she never rounds your grade up she rounds it down. She take off so many points on the test if you don't do it the exact way she wants you to do it. Ughhhhh NEVER AGAIN. DON'T TAKE HER.
If you ask her for help she will not help you at all and she doesnt teach the business part of business calculus she only teaches the calculus so a lot of the homework is hard to do because of it. I took calculus in high school but if i didnt i would have failed this class. If you havent taken calc yet DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!
She's the worst. 4 exams each one worth 20% but they are long and not easy. Attendence is not mandatory, she says if you wanna waste your parents money don't show up it's up to you. Tough grade take half the point if you forget to put + or -
Terrible professor. She goes through the material very quickly and rarely stops to explain it at all. Also, your entire grade for this course is made up of four exam and then the homework. If you do not work the problems out the exact way she wants on exams, you will fail, even if you get the correct answer.
Professor Perry is a terrible teacher. She doesnt teach whatsoever and just reads straight from the book. She also constantly talks to herself and the material put on the tests is barley covered in class. There are also TONS of homeworks. If you are a bad test taker you are screwed because there is no participation or attendance grade. AVOID HER!
Its her way or the highway. Literally.. for exams you must follow her exact steps or you get it wrong, even if you do it a way you learned somewhere else.. its wrong.
Do not take any class taught by Wendy Perry, even if you really need to take Bus Calc and she is the only professor left avoid her. Her classes are the last ones filled because she is one of the most awful professors out there. She doesn't know how to teach at all and messes up a lot further confusing her students to the point where many just leave
I had this professor for College Algebra. She wasn't too difficult and the content was easy. She does go very fast and can be rude when you don't understand a concept. Her test are multiple choice and not too hard.
Dont even bother to show up to class because she never takes attendance. All of the powerpoints are online, so as long as you look at them and do the homework you will be fine.
If you actually attend most classes (skipping a few won't hurt) and do the homework her class is pretty easy. She is also very nice and is always willing to help.
If you go to class, do the homework, and take some time to study the material before a test you will get an A and I am by no means a math person. She gives tips and tricks to make the problems easier to understand. I don't understand why she has such a low rating, she is a really good teacher but you have to put in the work.
She is a really sweet lady. Homework is easy. Tests are all multiple choice so if you study it't not hard to get a good grade.
Professor Perry is very caring and is willing to help out every student! She can go through material quite fast and does give homework every night. If you do not show up to class, you will not do well.
All I have to say is.. bruh. So rude and incredibly frustrating professor. super easy class if you took algebra 1&2 in high school and you rarely have to show. It's almost like she likes to embarrass people. If you're looking for an easy class this is the one-all tests have open note corrections, good amt of hw thats time consuming. terrible prof.
Wendy Perry is nothing but rude and malicious towards students. If you dont understand a concept she belittles you. She is extremely impatient and considers asking questions as wastes of time. Definitely try and find a different Professor if you want to succeed.
Attendance was not mandatory but there are quizzes after every class. Tests are open note and manageable. Lots of homework but not hard.
She's nice but make sure you pay attention to what's going on
Took her Summer 2 class. She was very accommodating for it being a summer course. Gave us all the materials we would need for upcoming tests. Quiz at the end of every section, but gives 2 chances to get your highest score. Always felt prepared for the tests & she understands that everyone is not going to be a mathematician. Solid class.
If you are taking her for Algebra it should be an easy A. There are daily quizzes but are super easy and you can drop the worst 3. Tests are open note and just like the reviews. Her teaching style is honestly very nice and she gives you hints and tricks on how to solve things to make it easier for you. Highly recommend her.
Take Professor Perry. She is a very good teacher. Gives you sample quizzes and tests before you take them and it's the same questions just different numbers. Drop the lowest 3 quiz grades. She averages your test with the test reviews, but you can take the review until you get a 100!
I like her! She is good at online classes. Quiz after every class so make sure your there. Open note on every test. Must have your camera on for attendance credit. Will answer any questions and is very kind. Your typical amount of Algebra homework though.
Just uses the powerpoint and doesn't write anything... if your okay with fast pace class but teaching yourself you will be good. Passable but you need to work for it. I wouldn't recommend but if its your only option you will survive.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! She may be a bit mean but she really sets you up to pass the course. She gives you quizzes after every class but provides practice quizzes with the same questions just different numbers (she does this for the test too!) I literally got a 99.89 in her class and it was super manageable.
This professor is extremely rude. She is one of the most unaccommodating professors I have ever had and basically tells you to suck it up no matter the situation. I am Ukrainian and I had lost someone due to the war and she told me word for word that "Unfortunately, other students are also going through their own stressful situations" Don't take!!!
She actually made me understand the math. I just do not like mymathlab and it is all on that.
not my favorite, kind of a boring class. mostly lecture and there was always homework. we were able to do the class and tests online from our own dorm which was nice
Super easy class, most work is online and doesn't seem to mind people not being in class. Barely went to class and work was still super easy.
THE BEST professor I have ever had she is amazing!!! She does not take attendance but it is helpful if you go to class. All her tests are online and open notes and they are averaged with the study guides. Take her!!! She is amazing.
Not a awful professor. She doesn't take attendance and doesn't care if you show up or not. Her class is easy if you go either way, but the lectures are extremely boring. Other than that she's nice and loves math so she will help if you need it.
She is very understanding and lets you know that your time with her is only what you feel it should be. She also gives great reviews and the exams are very easy.
She is a great College Algebra teacher. She doesn't care about attendance, just show up for the exams. She's always open to helping in or outside of class. Her lectures aren't bad and she always ends class early.
Took during covid so it was super easy. Nice lady though.
the course is easy but boring. everything is online, including tests which is good.
super easy if you did the homework and the tests followed the exact test review. attendance is not required
The absolute worst ever. Do not take her if it's your last option, wait another semester. couldn't be more rude or unhelpful
she doesnt really teach her online course makes everything for her including homework, doesnt even grade her own tests so theres no real room for error or partial credit
Class is very if your good at math. If you mess up on 1 test not the end of the world. You do well on the final it can replace 1 bad test score. You don't have to show up which is good. The class you pretty much need to teach yourself. But since the reviews are half the test grade you won't fail.
Her class is literally the easiest. Attendance is optional, and all of the tests are open notes. The study guides are an exact copy of the tests just with different numbers. On the homework, you can redo the question until you get it right. She drops three lowest homework grades too. Overall, super nice and I really recommend her.
This professor was confusing within class with the material but was always open to help. Homework after every class due by the next one. She was straight forward, went over a test review identical to exam, and were allowed our notes for the exams. Just pay attention.
Sweet lady and super responsive outside of class. Tests = open note/online lockdown browser. Homework is due next class. Everything is through MyMathLab. Lectures are sometimes very confusing, but an A is achievable as long as you do all homework/tests. Tests are very similar to MyMathLab reviews. Reviews = mandatory but are averaged with tests.
