He is an amazing professor. He is just AWESOME. He is not only loves math, he is crazy about math. He is willing to help you. He gives extra credit on exams. His exams are super easy and also he allows cheat cheat. He gives us review sheet before exams and most of the questions are exactly from the review sheet and some are similar problem.
I had this professor in the fall semester and what I can say is that he is very helpful,funny, and allows you to bring a cheat sheet on the day of the test. I would so take this professor again. Make sure to do your homework, he looks at it and grades it
I have him by MA121 he was a great professor. kind and helpful. allow you use cheat sheet during his exam. I strong recommend this professor.
super cool funny guy, real passionate about math, will cover old material if necessary, will review math topics from previous courses. tests are literally the same as review sheets, allows you to bring in a cheat sheet. language barrier, sometime it can be difficult to understand what he is saying but it becomes clearer with time. GETTHE TEXTBOOK.
IM GOING TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. He is a great teacher and wants you to receive the highest grade you can. If you have no problem with Asian accents then you are good to go! However, don't say I didn't warn you when are struggling to keep up with material purely because of his accent. It was by far one the worst I've encountered. Beware !!!
HE is the best professor in QCC. he just wants you to pass i dont think anybody fails his class becoz of the way he explains his exams are not tricky at all if you're not too good in maths just take this professor he helps a lot. I took him in summer and got an A, unfortunately he's not teaching 442 this semstr. he is the best professor take him!!!
all he wants you to do is pass, hes really the best. hes not strict on attendance at all because we check off our own attendance. but its best to go to class so that you will learn the math obviously. he moves quick but tries his best to be clear about what hes teaching. he allows cheat sheets and drops your lower test score. highly recommend!!

Professor Liu is a very educated man and intelligent. He loves teaching math and is the only generous professor at QCC. I do not regret taking him over the summer. He offers extra bonus points to help boost up your grade. He takes attendance towards the end and understands peoples personal issues. Does drop the lowest grade and is not strict.
He is the best professor in the whole world, he just wants you to pass and would give out extra credit. if anyone is struggling with maths he is the professor you gotta take, he is the best and his review sheets help a lot. Take him without even worrying about anything.

He is good at math teaching. He gives you extra credit that can make you easy A or pass. He is very patient and humorous. Believe me! You will not regret to take his class. You can copy homework when you take exams.
This professor is by far horrendous! He speaks way to fast throughout his lectures including lab as well. Thus, causing an issue in terms of understanding the material and what is going on. Best recommendation DONT TAKE HIM!!

Very nice guy. He had a little accent, but nothing to worry about since he cares about the students and also provides hw, he gave you the hw answers before the test. Test are not that hard, the review sheet helps a lot. If you need to take any math class, this is the instructor you need to take. Very humble guy.

He gave us hw every two weeks, very kind, and will give you a good grade on hw even if it's wrong or incomplete. accepts late work. Questions on the review sheets are on the test.
Dr. Wenjian Liu is my favorite math professor in QCC. He is extremely knowledgeable. Weekly HW, 3 midterms and final. Easy A.
The professor is kind. This is a writing intensive course. Be sure to do HW and undertand the concepts. There are 2 tests, a project paper, a final exam and lots of HW. Ask professor for help when you need.

If you are struggling with Math this is the professor you should take. I had him for MA 121 last semester and it was more than what I expect. I get an A for his class unexpectedly. Make sure to study the review sheet before his exams. Most of the questions on the review sheet repeat themselves on the exam.
trust me, he is the best math prof of QCC . the math 443 is difficult and there is only one in person class can be choose. and he change the class to online and he give practice before class which is almost 80% from the practice . if you want get a easy A . choose him. he is nice
Great professor for MA471. Changed class from hybrid to fully online to make sure every student had a chance to study and pass the class during the pandemic. Easy-going and helpful aswell. You will learn a lot. There is a writing project (essay) and final exam at the end of the semester.
If you really want to learn anything, anything! Do not pick this professor, he doesn't teach and does not know how to teach. But if you want an easy pass, just take him you don't need to do anything and you will pass this course.
I will not call him a bad professor, but you will not learn anything in his class. He goes too fast and doesn't know how to teach math to students. With advanced math you have to slow it down & teach step by step. He assumes we know the concepts already. He's a sweet professor but if you struggle with math and want to learn don't take him.

Please, don't take this professor. I studied, did the homeworks, and even asked him for help in and outside the class just for him to be impatient with my questions. His teaching methods were very very disorganized, there were so many gaps in the work presented. If you want to learn something in statistics I'd avoid him at all costs. Red flag!

His accent is very marked that you would not understand anything that he is saying. On top, he would talk very fast so you would not even have time to take notes. And sometimes, he stutters and does not even say anything! Like, if you are teaching, at least know how to talk properly so that students can understand!!
First he claimed you did NOT need to read the textbook for his class to pass and lied that he graded lightly which he did not he removed points for the any inconsistency. His accent is very heavy and will confuse you. Next he would leave class after giving you a very difficult question without giving other examples or explanations for 30 minutes.
If you want to learn Calculus1, don't take this professor. You can't understand what he says, having gaps in teaching stuffs and curriculums and I think he really doesn't know how to teach and describe the topics properly. On midterms and finals, he gives questions that beyond anyone's understandings and capabilities. For your good, don't take him.
Goes too fast during lectures then gives you way too much time for practice questions. Does not review anything, just cancels class for you to do that on your own. Tests are only 6 questions, 60% are same questions from review sheet and the rest is random questions so you won't know what to study. Easy pass but don't take him if you want to learn.
The course had 3 tests (40%), 4 HWs (30%), Final (30%). Tests had 6 questions, 4 from review sheets & 2 random. and allowed cheat sheets for tests, & final. Nothing was taught here, waste of time & money. If you're looking to learn, please avoid him. Tutors at CTAS does not like him, which says a lot. I hate to say, but his accent is hard.
If your major requires high level mathematics, especially if its a prereq for calculus 1, 2, 3 and 4 ( differential equations) and so on, please avoid him, you need to learn and understand the materials for the next course, and he does not teach.
I learned MA 441 with Prof. Liu during the summer. His class materials are very organized and helpful! If you love math, you will love his class!

Who hired him?, the tutor center does a better job than him, this is a joke.
He moves through material way too fast and assumes students already understand advanced concepts w/o explaining them. He doesn't know how to break down steps in a way that's easy to follow. If you're struggling w/ math, this class will only make it harder. frustrating because he seems nice, but that doesn't help when you're lost in the material.

Really nice professor.
I dropped the class within the first week. The professor just writes on the board from a paper, and you're expected to memorize it to get an A-. You don't actually learn anything. Also, the positive reviews seem fake, so don't be fooled. His accent is very hard to understand.
Good reviews are definitely fake, he does not know how to teach and should not be teaching since he doesn't speak English. Gives you 4 page cheat sheet to use during tests, and yells at you if you don't use cheat sheet. One way to describe it would be "copy paste", that's all he wants you to do, he does not teach at all.
After seeing so many positive reviews, I took his class and fell for the bait. Do not trust these reviews—the instructor is nowhere near what they claim. Save your time and money and find an alternative. Honestly, I have doubts about whether he posted those reviews himself using alternative accounts.
He is really a nice professor. Took the class in winter and he adjusted the amount of homework according to the given short schedule. Explains everything properly and replies to emails very often.

As a college student time is very valuable, and I feel like the opportunity to learn calculus 1 properly was take away from me. Reviews were hella fake, I worked so hard to get from MA10 to 441, and yes his accent is hard, but he didn't even try. Not to disrespect a college professor, but I can't believe the math department at QCC can allow this.
The professor has an extreme heavy accent, making it difficult for me to understand what he's saying. On top of that, his teaching style isn't effective. Instead of explaining concepts step by step, he just gives a brief overview of the lesson. His approach feels more like a quick recap rather than a proper introduction to new material
Literally the BEST professor in the ENTIRE college. I am taking him for MA 441 and MA 471. I have failed MA 441 at least 5 times but with him, I can actually pass and am currently passing. Professor Liu is the most lenient and caring professor you can find. He wants you to succeed and gives you every opportunity to. You won't regret taking him.

Many positive reviews are obviously fake Prof knows he can't teach, so expect to self-study HW grades can help if you're struggling Exams are short (less than 8 questions), so each question is weighted heavily Cheatsheets allowed, easy to pass if you know your stuff Heavy accent and covers proofs to take up lecture time (proofs are not tested)
maybe i should write this review after i have him for ma443 + ma471 but had him for ma 441 summer semester 24 and easy to pass and i have no idea how because i did not learn a single thing, bad place to leave students who need to take calc 2 and above, i managed and expecting the same thing for this upcoming semester. so just study outside of class
Extremely heavy accent. It seems he knows how to teach but the language barrier seems to be the detriment. You will have to teach yourself. Good luck in his class I didn't learn anything from him just had to study in my own time.
This Professor was awesome. Took him during summer and attendance wasn't mandatory. Homework and Midterms review were really helpful for the Exams.
He is too smart. His lectures are very easy to follow and engage with, but if you get distracted for a bit, it's easy to get lost. However, this is simply due to the nature of the class. Remember, in Calc 2, you used to hear (Bad algebra foundation? You will struggle), in this class, Bad Calc 2 foundation? You will struggle.
I really enjoy his class until now, I love his teaching style and he makes homework very detailed which helps me a lot
Had him over the summer. Always cuts class short and gives breaks in between instead of doing examples. Not the best lectures, just explains the concept and proves it and maybe one example max. Be prepared to study a lot on your own if you want to learn. He does give 60% of the exam questions for free(exact hw questions) so free pass.
This professor's accent is an abstraction in itself. 60% of test questions are from homework so its impossible to fail, however I really haven't learned anything. I had a 4.0 over 43 credits, and this professor is the one to end that. I would take if you only care about a passing grade, otherwise, I would steer clear from him.
