I greatly enjoyed Professor McMichael's teaching style. His lectures are very funny and interesting and he really gets you thinking. He's a very easy to talk to instructor and shows that he truly cares about his students. Definitely would take him again and recommend him to everyone!
Overall he knows his material & is passionate about the subject, but expects you to be on his knowledge level. The tests & quizzes are weighted heavily. For example I have 120.5 out of 131 point right now & it says I have an 83% but if you do the calculation it should be a 91%. I've only missed 10.5 points & I have a B, doesn't seem fair.
If you planing to pursue a philosophy or a related major Mr. McMichael is an ideal teacher, but if u want the class for igtec (general ed) , I strongly recommend u not to take the class, there are a lot of assigned readings every week like 20-30 pages and quizzes from the reading,so you gotta make sure you have enough time before u take his clas
McMicheal is a passionate and brilliant philosopher and a truly a joy to have as an instructor. He really tries to engage his students and finds value in what they have to say. His lectures are well paced and he explains the concepts thoroughly without oversimplifying them. You will get a lot out of this class if you pay attention.
This class is difficult. Group papers shouldn't be assigned for online classes. It should be individual papers because it's difficult trying to work with a group online. Not saying it can't be done but for this class it should be individual papers. Even after reading and taking notes the quizzes are still confusing. Don't take this class.
Professor McMichael's class was hard, but understandable and enjoyable. Reading and class attendance is a must, the group essay is not hard, as long as you have participation from all. Philosophy majors will truly enjoy his teaching style, those that are not, be prepared to study. Overall great class.
Wes is a good professor but his online work is the worst part of his classes. The work isn't hard but the amount of work needed to be done takes a lot of discipline. His group projects are really easy and he'll help you all the way through them. He's funny and kind but the workload almost makes the class seem tedious.
Wes is the one and only choice you have for a humanities professor. His lectures are fun and he gets you thinking. He gives you the questions before hand for the weekly quizzes and even puts the page numbers down so you can find them. I never did the questions before hand and I still managed to look it up before the time ran out. He's great.
Get ready to READ! There are weekly readings, along with quizzes/discussions, but it's not impossible. You are expected to fulfill a group essay (yep, even online), which is the only aspect of the class that was difficult, but do YOUR part and you'll get the credit regardless. You may have to ask for clarification every so often on assignments.
took the summer online course and there was a lot of work. there are weekly discussions, and you get credit on those by reaching the word count, but I found some of the quizzes to be difficult. The class is lecture heavy especially when it comes to the tests. There's also a group paper in the class, which was very stressful considering it's online
Wes was my fav prof this semester. He is so smart, yet very goofy. There is homework due every week which sometimes is a drag, but it's not hard. There is a group essay due at the end of the semester, which is the hardest assignment, but there's plenty of time to work on it. He made classical humanities easy to follow and actually interesting.
I enjoyed taking this class, this professor is very understanding and wants to help you to pass. He's very responsive and always there willing to help and answer any questions. Although I feel like he grades the papers pretty tough, but I was able to speak to him on the phone to get a more clear understanding when the 2nd set of papers were due.
If you plan on taking Phil 1C, I really recommend taking it with McMichael. His class is pretty easy and especially for it being online. The course went smoothly over the semester. He really wants his students to do well and it shows.
Great Lectures. Hes a professor that actually cares. Gets back to you fast via email. Very helpful.
I must say that this has been one of my favorite instructors by far! Mr. McMichael makes philosophy easy. He is very passionate about the subject and loves teaching it. I personally dislike history and art but Mr. McMichael made everything so interesting and understandable! I highly recommend him!
He is an awesome professor! He responds super fast to any questions you might have. He loves helping his students. If you want an A, you have to work to get it. Even though it is an online class, you still have to put a great amount of effort in your assignments. His class isn't hard, but it isn't so easy. I would definitely take his class again!
Me. Wes is an amazing teacher. The other students almost discouraged me but Im happy I didnt let them. All you have to do is do your work! I mean this is college you know. Essay was not hard! Just participate and you got this!
Great professor! I think the subject is something that most arent super excited to take but he makes the assignments interesting and gives great feedback. The hardest part of the class for me was the papers that have to be written on vegetarianism the articles are long boring and confusing. Other than that great professor would take again!
Intelligent, kind, and funny professor. Wish he showed more pictures/videos in his lectures for us visual learners. Be comfortable with small discussion groups and writing (lots of writing in this class). Take good notes for the tests! The structure of the class and actual outside assignments were a bit confusing. He did his best though.
Great professor! All professors should have this much passion towards what they teach. Fair & unbiased. Not afraid to inject humor into the subject. Answers emails promptly. I highly recommend this professor! Online work load was more than reasonable. I never felt stressed.
I took this class online. Material is really interesting. Not too difficult but it was time consuming. Professor is really interested in helping students and is very supportive. The best online class I've ever had.
Lots of heavy reading. Study for the tests (not quizzes) they are a massive chunk to your grade.
Hes amazing. He makes his online class super easy to follow. I highly recommend him!
He's a great professor, even online! He gives students every opportunity to do well and provides all the materials that he can give you so that you do well. He gave great video feedback (I took him online) and always made sure to give credit where it was due. Highly recommend this professor!
Best online class I have taken. Professor McMichael is very caring and makes his lectures interesting. Very happy I have him as my professor. Hes passionate about his career and it shows in the material he provides for class. I have so much respect for this professor. I would retake this class in a heartbeat.
Made philosophy fun and interesting by using examples that some of us can relate to. He was very helpful and answered online questions quickly. He also seemed to always be in a good mood which is pretty awesome. The course has a large amount of reading , so be prepared for that. I enjoyed the class and recommend whoever reads to take his class.
He is very passionate about the material, makes the topic interesting. He also ties it to real life situation as well as back to past material. This makes it easier to understand new topics being taught. Overall, great teacher!
Very energetic professor. Very open with conversation. Answers email promptly. Stories that he shares of his experiences are interesting. Class consist of lecture, then talking with your peers about a certain topic. Easy and simple class. Homework mostly done online, discussion board, etc. 2 Papers which are easy. Funny and interesting teacher.
Lots of reading and writing, but fairly easy. Definitely take him. All lectures are pretty interesting. Essay is split up in 3 sections, only 600 words each time.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor McMichael is passionate about Philosophy and it comes through in his lectures. He simplified the subject, easy to digest. If you don't research and read in preparation for the assignments you will not do well in this class. Fair and consistent grading. I would highly recommend him. No textbook Required!
I love taking this class for the summer especially since it was an online class. The discussions were great and I think that McMichael was an amazing instructor. He made philosophy fun and easy. At first I was scared because the word philosophy itself sounds difficult and hard but he made philosophy so much more interesting. I highly recommend him.
Hes very passionate about his work. Way too much work. Discussions are the main thing in his class and hes a very tough grader. Im so glad its over. It was a tough class
I loved this class and Professor McMichael! He is a very tough grader, but I put in the time to chat with him about most of my essays before submission. Therefore, I typically got the grades I wanted. If you put in the time, you'll get the grade you want. McMichael is such a great professor!
Excellent professor, great course content, and overall an amazing experience. You will have to put the work in, but the end result is worth it. The level of knowledge dispensed throughout the course is exceptional. I definitely learned a lot, and am better for it.
Dr. McMichael is probably the best professor I've had. He really shows genuine care for all of his students and it's evident he isn't just there for a paycheck. I learned a ton in his class and enjoyed every minute of it. He isn't easy with grading by any means. However, if you put in the effort you will come out shining. Great professor!
He is a great professor. If you didnt know anything about ethics, it would be hard at beginning. He is there to help you understand concepts of this subject. Make your efforts, so you can easily earn an A. It will be interesting when you really understand the topics. He is generous about giving B and C, but to get the A require good quality work.
Class consists of weekly discussion boards and one main paper. Some topics are more complex than others, but great sources (videos and short readings) are provided to help you learn. He always offers help and responds quickly to your questions. Class was enjoyable, simple, and easy to pass, just need to put in some effort and turn in work on time.
Is always available for his students even though it is an online class. Provides his own lecture videos that make it easier to understand material. Funny guy too. Would definitely take another class by him.
Exceptional professor, always available, passionate for philosophy, provides plenty of material to help you understand ethics, and the topics he chooses challenges you in a way that makes you critically evaluate the ethical topic. Provides his own materials, always available, I have loved this class.
Dr. McMichael is a great professor. Super caring and loves what her does. He is always available for his students and is kind enough to proof read assignments before turning them in. Ethics is a hard class and is a lot of work but if you take the time you'll be fine. He does expect college level work so if you half fast it you will not do good.
Professor Wes McMichael has a great way of making subjects just that more interesting. Even some of the topics I did not like were still make a bit better by the lectures and some of the sources he provided. Even through a screen, it is apparent he cares about teaching Philosophy the right way, going so far as to teach outside of his comfort zone.
Professor McMichael is a very passionate instructor, and it truly shows in his class. He worked to compile all the material you will need in this class so you will not have to purchase a textbook. Although it is an online class, there is a lot of writing involved, but he does a good job at posting all the assignments well ahead of time.
Such an nspired professor I have ever took! I have taken Philosophy before, and let me tell you they don't give specific details on what they are looking for. Only mini essays due each week, which was fine with me. Make sure you get them done, or else you will fall behind. He always make sure he is able to help you with office hours, take advan
Really good professor always gets back to you whenever emailed provides great lectures and has office hours ready and available course was very good I would take it again
Dr. McMichael is engaging and interesting, which makes the class enjoyable!
He is a great professor. Very encouraging and gives a lot of reminders for the due dates to assignments. You will have to work hard for an A, but it isn't impossible.
Lets see I hated philosophy but mr mcmichael was a good professor you can really tell he loves the subject and its amazing because he gives really good lectures. He is very caring and understanding. Always do your work especially the discussions. Just try your best it can be a difficult subject for some but just study.
he is awesome! no reason you shouldn't pass if you do the work and are engaged with the assignments. i would definitely take him again!
If you're taking online philosophy, be prepared to write. There is one module per week and 450 words per module. Plus side is that there is no textbook and no tests or quizzes! Also there are five 600 word essays.
He is nice and lets people turn in stuff late for credit. Tough Grader. Barely gives out As has really high standards for grading. If you dont mind a B in his class go ahead and take him. No extra credit for this class.
Very caring and encouraging, especially when COVID hit and the world is upside down. Very responsive. Would have preferred more lecture and would have preferred a textbook to refer back to specific content. The reading material online was scanned chapters of two different books. The answers to practice problems were somewhere else.
Dr. McMichael is passionate about Philosophy and it shows through every assignment. I took this class as an online summer course. There is a lot of writing involved, its not difficult but its a lot (it is general Ed after all). In order to get a good grade you must be thorough but he is always available to help you achieve the grade you want.
If you dont know anything about ethics than this will be a very tough class. The materials are very complex but they are very compelling to read. His lectures are great and you can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches and he is always willing to help if you contact him. Great class! Its just pretty difficult.
His lessons are very thorough. Every week there is a reflection due thats only 250 words, however in order to meet the grading criteria youd want to go over 250. For every week he has his lecture videos which are little lengthy but less than an hour and then a few articles to read less than 20 pages long. They help for when you have an essay!
Dr. McMichael is a great professor overall, he is very passionate about the subject and is always willing to help in office hours. If you need help though, make sure to email in a timely manner bc he does take a while to get back to you. There are weekly assignments that do take a long time to do, so as long as those are spaced out, you'll be okay
Hes a tough grader. I was expecting to pass the class with an A but he says most of the students in his class gets B and you have to work for it. You practically have an assignment every week. Towards the end just two quizzes. An easy class but you have work hard to earn that A
He is an amazing professor! You can tell he is extremely passionate about what he teaches. He expects you to always do your best. You definitely have to have nearly perfect work if you want an A but if you are decently good at writing essays youll definitely get a B. His lectures are very interesting. Great professor, great class!
Prof. McMichael was overall a great professor , most of the work was discussion posts and the final was a three part essay with the parts being split up during the semester . Good class .
He is a great professor - passionate about his work. He is eager to help as well as engage with his students. He's very kind and phenomenal at explaining the subject matter! My only warning is that he is a tough grader! Earning an A is difficult. He is very particular when he grades assignments. Overall, it was an awesome class. I learned a lot!
Ethics was one of the most challenging courses I have taken at FCC. However, McMichael is passionate about what he is teaching! My reasoning and writing skills increased tremendously, and he was extremely encouraging throughout the course. He is dedicated to helping students succeed and it is definitely possible to earn a good grade by asking qs!!
Overall great teacher and great person. Lectures were interesting and at times funny! Would highly recommend this class to anyone, Professor McMichael kept things interesting at all times.
I joined this class for required credits and thought nothing of it. This professor made me want to actually learn about philosophy. This class isn't very tough but that doesn't mean you can slack. He provided all material work, and as long as you read what's given and take notes you'll find success in the class. Never hesitant to help anyone out!
I really enjoyed taking this class. There is quite a bit lectures and material to view and read. You have to put in the effort in order to pass this class. I learned ALOT in this class and it was very interesting. Professor McMichael was always supportive and willing to help all students in his class succeed; he's very motivating.
Professor McMichael is great! He truly cares for his students and tries to get the best out of everyone. He is easily accessible outside of class, and is he always ready to help in any way that he can. As long as you watch the lectures and participate in the discussion boards every week, you'll have nothing to worry about.
One of the most enjoyable class I have taken. The lectures are my favorite part of the course. The professor provides great insight. Aside from the lecture videos, you will need to read at least one 15-25 page article per week. Reaching the requirements will get you a B, but if you want an A in the class, you will have to put in the extra effort
Professional, caring. He is one of these teachers that would be happy to help you with stuff, dont be afraid to ask about stuff cause you would always receive good feedback from him.
Had an online class with him and would have a short essay due per week. He provided the sources and we just had to read through them and then write up a reflection on the week's topic. Rarely ever gave perfect scores on any essay, but as long as you put in the effort, you can get a good grade. No extra credit.
I liked the stuff we learned, you read a lot and some of the readings are hard but he tells you how you can do well. just do the work each week.
Professor Wes holds his office hours every day of each week. Each week you will read and post initial DB of 200 words. Respond to peer 75 words and self reflect 75 words. The more you write for initial post (1000 words) will get you a better grade. It is out of 35 per DB. He also includes 1 essay that is split into three parts of the semester.
New topics weekly, but same workload: 100 word initial reaction 250 word informed reflection (cite 3 sources) 75 word constructive feedback (cite 1 source) 75 word self reflection Final paper split into 3 segments (Total of 3000 words) Loved his energy + lectures, but despised his grading. Literally have to do magic to get a perfect grade.
I was confused throughout the semester. I spent the time amount that was on the syllabes but it you need more he is nice but it was a hard class.
Online classes can be intimidating, but with a clear, concise curriculum where there are no surprises, it makes for a positive experience. This class was fun, and rewarding. Professor McMichael is straight forward, personable, and is readily available for students who have questions or concerns. Try your hardest and success will be imminent.
He was a woman fearful teacher for me! Im taking another class of his in the summer. He composed the course well, it was easy to understand the material. All of what he presented was applicable. He was so kind, understanding with late work, understood my personal difficulties during the semester (I had surgery). Great personality and kind spirit.
Awesome professor, only gives full credit for work that is (in his words) "exceptional". Talk to him and see what it takes to be exceptional and you'll do well. There are a lot of lectures and reading, overall not bad and it was a good class.
I loved this class! Professor McMichael has great lectures and genuinely cares about his students. The work isn't too difficult, and he does the same thing every week: lecture, reading, and a reflection, which I really enjoyed! He's not too tough of a grader either. I would recommend this class to anyone.
This professor is great! but it will require you to be engaged with the material. Which of course is expected. However if you want to pass, it will require you to work at it. But he was so positive, and made me enjoy it while hating it at the same time. He is very informative, and you can tell he loves his job.
Dr. McMichael was amazing! The class I took was online. The modules were easy to navigate and very informative. He provided feedback and really wanted his students to succeed. I highly recommend him. There is lecture every week and he makes it interesting. As long as you do the work a good grade is achievable!
Not going to lie there is reading and this class gets you thinking but I learned so much from him. I was completely scared in taking this class, but he made this the best online class experience ever! He is someone who will go above and beyond to make sure students do not fail his class. Do not hesitate in taking his class, you will not regret it!
This was my second class taken with Professor McMichael. I just finished a 9 week course which was very difficult in regards to staying on schedule and being disciplined within yourself. If you do acceptable work you will receive an acceptable grade, he is fair but not easy. Apply yourself and you will come out with an A or B! Great Professor
He is an amazing professor. Very humble & down to earth. He highly emphasizes that hes there if you need help, even outside of student hours. Lectures were easy to understand & interactive. Hes very happy to teach. Only 1 hw assignment a week & exams are to write about topic taught. He wants you to pass & keeps in mind other classes you have
Teacher is knowledgable. The issue is the transmission of that knowledge or I suppose the lack of transmission. The grading criteria was never clear, and the quarantine only made this poor experience worse.
Very knowledgeable about subject matter and really likes teaching the course. He tries to make the material as interesting as possible and challenges you to think about the material. Very engaging and available if you need help. One of the better professors I have had.
Took his Ancient Philosophy class (PHIL-3A-29759) and really enjoyed it. He manages to keep the material interesting while not having too demanding of a work schedule, although you definitely want to stay on pace with engaging with the provided material (videos, translations of sources, etc.).
The most caring and brutally honest professor that will improve your writing. He is always so enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and is more than helpful during office hours. The reading material was not very difficult but does require extensive analysis. Similarly the essays where not heavy, when you can rely on him for clear directions.
I took this class because it was recommended by my friend. It was easy, kind of boring. I wish we talked about more relevant topics. Class felt a bit dated.
Professor McMichael is great!! Very intelligent and understanding/flexible - will give extensions if needed. Really wants you to learn + wants an A grade to mean something so it may be a bit harder than expected to earn one. But if you just want a B it will be very easy - just try and engage, he will appreciate the effort. Lots of writing but fun
He expects you to read papers and watch a ton of videos to use to write long elaborate discussion posts. Plus you have to do the same when writing responses and again towards your own post after reading other people's posts. All of that with at max 18 points. Not worth all of the work. Take someone else because its alot of time wasted
Professor McMichael is an amazing educator! He is very intelligent and down to earth. Online class but he makes you feel like he is there every step of the way. He sets you up for success with making himself available and always sending positive reinforcements. His topics and assignments were extremely interesting and easy to understand.
Professor McMichael was great. He made sure you were aware that he was there to help you. His course consisted of watching videos and reading specific articles. You will complete an initial response, write a discussion post and respond to your peers. There was one essay. Overall, I believe it is an easy class. Manage your time accordingly. GoodLuck
I took ethics as a summer course. Six weeks and it was A LOT of reading and A LOT of work. Dr. McMichael makes it very clear what you need to do to make each letter grade, so you get out of it exactly what you put in. It is so much work to get an A in that class, but it is not hard or impossible!
I took this course over the summer. Professor McMichael is very caring and humble. He wants every one of his students to succeed. He makes himself available for any help you may need. There was alot of reading and videos/lectures to watch, interesting topics. If you put in effort and manage your time you can get an A.
This professor was immediately intrigued and much more brilliant than I had expectations for when I started the class. His feedback was well thought out. He constructed this short summer class so that you grasped what you needed to from it. I really enjoyed his opinions, personality, wit and topics and I he challenged my thinking. Thank you!
I took this class over the summer, there were two discussion board posts due each week. They are accompanied by readings and videos and you have to use the sources in order to get a good grade on them. In addition to this he also had his own lecture videos on each topic for more help. Overall a really good class over the summer.
He was a really good professor. The grading is more objective, instead of subjective, so it took some stress off of the assignments. Overall, really good!
clear and objective grading criteria. you can choose the grade you want and put in the work for that grade. Not a hard class to pass. Good professor, good lectures, accompanying stories, and overall a good experience.
Such a great professor! Very passionate about his teachings. I changed my major to philosophy because of him. Kinda challenging but well worth it.
Took it as short term class and wouldn't recommend. 2 db's every week that take a few hours each where you watch videos and read papers to answer questions. The good think is there is only one big essay split up throughout the weeks and his rubric is clear so as long as you met the requirements. you should get full points.
The professor is so kind and generous in grading. Just have to meet the word count and citations and stay on topic to receive an A on each assignment. Writing in his class is much easier now that I am done with all SCI classes. He's much easier now than other Phil professors. I highly recommend him if you have no other memorization type of class.
Great professor but just so much homework. Lots of reading and videos. There's just so much content and he really does want you to be successful in his class. There are 3 papers throughout the semester instead of a single extremely long paper at the end. Its just an information and writing heavy class.
Professor McMichael is awesome! His lectures were never to difficult to understand and if you are ever in question regarding assignments that are due he is always so eager to help.
One of the best professors I've ever had. The work is very easy to understand, his word counts aren't high, and he is an easy grader. Yes there are big essays, but for there being no tests and easy assignments I didn't mind the essays at all. He requires college level writing with adequate source use, but the topics are easy to write about.
By far the best instructor I have ever had, very understanding if you are struggling, and super caring. Communication is key if you want to succeed in this course, speak up if you are struggling and he will 100% take you into consideration with due dates etc.
Professor Mcmichael is a very hard grader and has you read so much, as well as multiple writing assignments that are very lengthy. He makes fun of people on welfare as an example and is overall an unpleasant professor. Do not take this class unless you have so much time on your hands and don't like people on welfare.
Professor McMichael was a great professor, he made sure everyone understood the conversation topic and would stop to make sure we knew. The assignments were pretty repetitive but not that difficult as long as you followed the lectures and watched the videos (which were not long at all). Highly recommend his class!
Dr. McMichael is the best! Easy A for sure if you put in the time to do the work. He assigns weekly engagement logs in which you have to watch the lectures to do complete the logs. He gives clear expectations of what the requirements are for the grades. There's a writing assignment with A LOT of reading but it's doable
McMichael is amazing at what he does! Writing assignments were every week and 2 major essay which were fairly easy. He gives good feedback and grades timely. The work itself is not too bad, as long as you are able to make time for it. There will be reading but often times it is not too bad! Def recommend.
Was a nice guy, and definitely cares about his students/the subject. I struggled in his class. Lecture videos were hard to follow because of the way he explained things. Weekly assignments, & 3 papers. Was also hard that the assignments were due at 8 pm. Late work accepted but with a point deduction. Easy to get behind. Take this in person.
Let me start by saying this was my favorite class this semester. Professor McMichael gave real-life examples from his life to help us better understand course concepts. The weekly engagement logs were a bit lengthy but it was fun. He's very approachable and works with students if you have late work, only taking 1-3 points off the assignment.
I just wanted to say that this class was amazing and that the professor is very caring and shows he wants everyone to do amazing in his class. I highly recommend this class in person and there are a few bad reviews out there but they are completely false, this professor is probably the nicest and most caring professor working here at FCC.
I highly recommended everyone takes PHILL2 in person with Professor Wes McMichael! He is kind, caring, and one of the best professors at FCC. He is understanding of his students. Someone commented below about him making "welfare" jokes, this is not true & was out of context. He is also not a "hard grader", some people simply don't do the work.
Mr McMichael, as a person, is great. He knows a lot and puts his own little spin on things. Everything about the class was alright except the homework. I never liked discussion posts and this made me dislike them even more. To each their own, I guess, but if you do not like discussion posts, not a class for you. Aside from that, amazing class !!
Professor Wes, is great professor. Weekly assignments with clear criteria. Rinse and repeat. There is a lot of reading so be prepared .Gives great feedback and responds in timely manner. He sends weekly reminders about assignments and deadlines very helpful. He wants you to succeed in your academic career. Taught me a new way of thinking!
Professor McMichael is great. He really cares for his students and wants them to succeed in his class and outside of it. His grading process was really interesting to me at first because not a lot of professors grade the way he does but I ended up being so grateful for it! He's one of the best at FCC to say the least.
Dr. McMichael is an amazing professor. Even though I took his online class, I still felt really connected with him and his class. He's really good at communicating with all of his students and always sent updates throughout each week. He's also one of the nicest people I've met, and I would always look forward to his feedback.
Super awesome guy, he seems to really enjoy his position and takes pride in it. The way he teaches is very honest and direct which I appreciate. He does his best to explain things in a humorous and relatable manner. Very approachable and helpful throughout the whole semester. Great class environment and the work is quite manageable. Would recommend
Professor McMichael is a professor who just wants you to succeed. He is very willing to help and understand whatever is going on in your life. There is a lot of reading and writing, but that's to be expected in a critical reasoning class. He's a super nice guy, and I learned a lot. I would definitely take his class again.
I loved Mr. McMichael! He was always there to help and genuinely wants everyone to succeed and just learn Philosophy! He is super fun and easy to talk to. It is a lecture heavy class but the workload is light and easy. The grading criteria is always clear and if you have questions he is always there to answer and is also just a great person!
Dr. McMichael is a phenomenal professor! The passion he has for teaching and philosophy comes through in his lectures and he makes learning such a delight. He's witty, compassionate, and truly cares about his students and watching us succeed. His lectures are my favorite, he allowed us to partake and was interested in our thoughts about the topics.
Wes was amazing! This class was so easy to pass, he is an simple grader. As long as you turn in your work (YOUR OWN WORK not AI) then you get 100%. He does not care if your writing are not college level, he just wants you to engage in the class and show him that you understand the lecture. He is also very funny professor and easy going.
An amazing teacher! His instructions are always very clear, and he creates a supportive learning environment. If you don't understand something, he is incredibly patient and willing to help until everything clicks. He genuinely cares about his students' success and makes learning enjoyable. Highly recommend taking his class

I was recommended this professor by a friend and I am glad I took his class, he's a great professor in my opinion. He genuinely cares for his students and he is very understanding. I appreciated every class lecture he gave, I ACTUALLY learned. If you're planning to take him or is considering, DO IT.
He's a great professor who seems like he really enjoys doing his job. Always enthusiastic to teach in the lectures and very easy to get a hold of outside of class. Overall amazing guy!!
Cool professor. cares a lot about students. class is interesting but does go off topic sometimes. overall though i think his an awesome instructor
This is within my top two favorite professors I have ever had. Life happens and there is no professor that has shown this level of empathy and patients to me as a student and I will never forget this class. Ill admit, that I got the grade I deserved (life happens) however all the way until the end I felt the professor was rooting for me.
Professor Wes is caring and wants students to succeed. The work is reasonable - essays, readings, and videos. Unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool alongside other resources. Recommended for an engaging, manageable course.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Even though the class was online you can tell how much he wants his students to succeed and he's a very nice and helpful person. The class wasn't easy; I was basically writing an essay every week and there are a few mega essays you have to do, but I learned a lot and he was there every step of the way.
10/10 would recommend this class, his lectures are very informative and you can tell he is very passionate about teaching you, if you need help don't be afraid to ask he is super helpful, understanding and nice. There's few assignments given and they are very easy to complete. :)
Pretty chill professor. Just show up to class, meet the word count and you're good. Attendance is linked to grade.
Dr. McMichael's class is the best class I have ever taken. He loves what he does, and it shows. As long as you engage with the material and show up for class, you'll get a good grade. He is super funny and his lectures are amazing. He assigns some high-level reading, but don't be afraid to go to his office hours if you get stuck, he's very helpful!
Honestly he's an amazing teacher, I've taken both his ethics class and critical thinking and both were very eye opening & get you to think a lot. I'd definitely take him again if I could. Work wise, there's a fair amount of reading, some writing and responding but nothing extreme. Take a cup of coffee & listen while you write.
Weekly writing assignments, but as long as you meet the word count your good. Super chill and caring would take this class again.
He love a good discussion board. He grades by the word count of the discussion board and I think that that's beautiful. He also love an automated email every other day which was less beautiful but i'll let it slide
Nice teacher and an interesting class. Be on time with your assignments and you are set.
This professor is such an amazing instructor, he is inspirational and kept me intrigued with all the topics we covered. If you attend class and do the work you should pass this class with an A and don't use AI to write your homework assignments.
hes nice and the work isnt heavy but every week there are like 4 readings that are not super easy to read bc it is older philosophy but it isn't too hard at all easy class
This man is the absolute best professor.
