He is very confusing and doesn't make his questions very clear. He sometimes becomes confused himself.

I think the class is fairly easy. Butler tries to accomadate as much as possible. He even provides the notes for you, just get them off the internet. He always asks if anyone has any questions. He'll even repeat things you need to know for the exam.
Mr Butler is a cool teacher and he appears to care if the students pass or not I have taken this class before and had a very impersonal teacher I like him and wish he was teaching bsc2086
He is slow. And he don't understand anything. He is very rude. Don't take his class or have have him as an advisor.
This teacher is horrible, He is very unclear during the lectures and he never gives a straight answer, His test questions are unclear, so I reccommend you stay away from taking his lecture or his lab.
The last comment is bull, Anatomy is very hard with alot of information. For those who think Mr. B is hard just wait untill you sign up for some of the other teachers classes, then you will wish you had Mr. B. Trust me I know.
Anat/Phys is a hard class. If you read the material before coming into Mr. Butler's lecture, you shouldn't get lost. If you are confused, he will answer your questions. He does try to help and makes it clear that he is available. He's more helpful than other teachers I've had. I recommend taking him

Mr.Butler is a great professor who sincerely cares for his students. He goes the extra mile to help you. he knows his material and explains it clearly and will go over it until you understand it. Take Mr.Butler and you will succeed.
This teacher sucks.He is on a power trip and doesnt know what he is talking about most of the time. He mispronounces things wrong all the time and then tries to deny it.He is disrespectful often and doesnt answer your questions.He is the only teacher doing this class so you dont have a choice.beware
given the time a teacher has to teach this material i must say he uses it well! if you do your work, he'll do his. a+P just doesn't come naturally. he'll explain things until you understand.. if your motivated you'll do well.

I think that whoever cannot pass his class is retarded and should change their major. People expect him to learn for them. You have to put some effort and understand the concepts.Also he doesn't make it hard for you to pass. He wants everyone to pass and gives everyone opportunities to bring their grade up. I got an A in A&P I and II!
This is an incredible teacher. I was impressed with his willness to help and how well he explained anything and everything a student asked..

Does he even know A&P??? GAve us a nonexistant body cavity, mispronounces EERYTHING under the sun. People leaving his AP1 and going into AP2 are in for big trouble and a big surprise. This is all apart from the **** attitudes in class.

yall please dont take this man he was horrible he was not clear in any of his instructions for any of his lab reports...his whole class is based on group projects....so if you dont like dealing with groups and mr.butler fruity unclear self dont take this class you will be lost and fail.
he really wantes you to succeed and wants to help as much as possible. but hes teahcing methods are a bit hard to follow. He gives study guides that really help but thye are huge.
I had him for lab. He's a pretty good teacher. He doesn't expalin very much though, you just kind of have to learn the material on your own. He does try to help out and answer any questions that you may have. I almost got an "A" in my lab. He's very nice and definitely better than a lot of the A&P teachers.

Didn't learn a thing! Refused to use assigned text we had to buy "his" favorite text! Basically taught ourselves the whole time. Tests were take home which the slackers liked but you never really learned anything! I was NOT prepared for AP2 so I retook the class

Mr. Butler is an overall nice guy. He doesn't provide much help, he'd rather you find the answer on your own. Super Super Easy, but I'll admit I didn't really learn much! He gives you plenty of chances to make an A! Perfect if your not a science major and just need to fulfill your science requirements!
Just go to class and do material he gives you. Everything he does is to help you learn!

Please take a tape recorder to class because this man will tell you one thing and do something else. Also check blackboard daily he may at will change your grade for no apparent reason!
Ok... so seriously we're in college BUT this professor teaches at an elementary level and is unclear on his requests and unclear as to his rubrics of grading. He is extremely confusing and tries to be friendly but in the end I felt like I really wasted my money... on a class I learned VERY little from...
Easy! just show up to class. Don't be afraid to share your opinion. Do all the quizzes and assignments. I feel that alot of people don't give him as much credit as he deserves. He's not going to give you the answers to all biology questions. just read your book. he knows who reads and who doesnt. he's a good teacher in my book.
he's cool but if you don't semi kiss his ass then don't expect much. if your quiet from day 1 then stay that way and just do your work. Mr. Butler doesn't know if he wants to be cool or not. Its like he has a period. Just do what is asked nothing more and nothing less.
I am normally a straight A student. I had to withdraw this class because I was not doing well. This teacher does not teach. He wants you to talk in class. You will have to do concept maps and optional end of chapter self-quizzes. The answers to the quizzes are in the back. If you don't want to learn this is the class for you. Don't get the book.

Butler being unclear: BS! Read your syllabus; everything outlined from first 2 last week.He's hilarious and had me crack up every day, class is fun and he keeps it interesting (i never liked science) Reading is necessary, but heck, if you're lazy, you better don't go to college at all. If you like learning about Biology in a very Pro-Religious setting where you spend an entire class period once a week having personal view points on Jesus/God and technology/science shoved down your throat - perfect. Otherwise steer clear and don't waste your money, you will learn nothing. Worst & Most Unethical Teacher Ever in my opinion.

Overall he's an OK teacher, the classes aren't too boring at least. The good thing is there are no tests and all the quizzes are online. The bad is he's a little of a hard grader always finding somewhere to take points off on your assignments. I am a normally A student who got a B+ in his class.

This class was horrible. He had a problem with one student, and then ended up hating our entire class all semester for it. He plays with your grade. I had an A all semester, then I had a B without reason.You will learn nothing in this class! Everything is online. He wont teach, instead he wants discussions.He talks in circles.Don't take this class!

He is a easy teacher, kinda laid back. Don't call him a liar doesn't end well. I took him over the summer and just make sure you don't wait last minute to do something about his class. Use the book for his quizez, make sure you get descent grades on the quizez because the final is not too helpful. Go to class b/c sometimes he'll change somthing.
Dr. Butler teaches the class so that you will be able to understand it. His lectures are a little hard to follow, but he is very helpful if you just to him. All he wants is for the students to show him a bit of respect. The lecture quizzes are open book and so are the exams. He doesn?t want you to memorize the info, but understand it.
So I had him over the summer. He gave you extra credit for attending class (no one was showing up). All of the quizes and exams were online (go take with friends) minus a written final (which majority failed). He's easy if you speak up in class and answer his questions, but class is boring because he's professor google. Worth it for my A!
Ok so the quizes and tests are all done at home. You would think this would make the class easy. But the tests have nothing to do with what he says, and over half of the things he lectures about doesnt make any sense at all!
Test n queizes are done online meaning HOW CAN YOU FAIL its so easy and class is easy You know everything he expects from you up front. he does have a interesting personilty but he's funny and keeps class interesting. He makes science interesting!!
Easy class. Quizzes are online which means you can use the book. He gives a take home final which is also very easy. Classes are pretty fun and you will actually learn stuff. He likes to google but that was also kinda fun. Gives a lot of bonus points for in class assingments and hw. He's strict about attendance and tardiness but his class is fun
He was not helpful. He doesnt teach the class. expects you to go in on your own time and teach your self in the learning commons. alot of memorizing.quiz every week and test every other week. always got out early
He's a nice guy, and wants you to do well, although he does not teach in the lab. He gives you the sheets of things to study for exactly, but you are teaching yourself all the way with the models in class and in the Learning Commons. Study everything on your sheets and use the Teagarden website and you'll be ready for the practicals.
BEWARE! DO NOT TAKE HIM... AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. Worst professor ever. Does not teach and is very unclear. Does not respond to emails quickly and is not organized. You have to be ready to learn everything on your own. The averages for each practicals were rediculously low. Definetely would take another professor for anatomy and physiology.
I took this class over the summer. He is an awsome guy, but the test are hard even though you take them online. I do feel like I learned alot in this class, I went every day. I still only made a C. I am an A student this class is hard. You have to undertand from the beging to do well. No extra credit. So don't expect any.
Very nice guy, but his teaching method is not for me. You don't know exactly whats gonna be on the test. You have no idea what to study. Tests are online but they are extremely hard. You think you understand until you look at the test and your completely dumbfounded. Like I said very nice guy but idk if you would want to take him.
Online course was a little difficult. He is very fair with grades and makes himself available both by e-mail and office time. Projects make you move away from the computer and think out of the box. I would take him again.
He's humorous for the most part, but some of his jokes demean women & are inappropriate. I highly suggest he tone it down. Plus, it can be hard to tell at times if he's joking or not. He doesn't make his class particularly hard, but wants students to simply gain knowledge. I, personally, don't care much for the guy as far as College Success goes.
I took his online BSC1005 class. Mr. Butler doesn't make what he wants clear. You will be scrathing your head trying to figure out what he means in most of his assignments. I do not recommend taking his online classes.

I am in the process of taking his online class. His instruction for completing assignments are not very helpful. Also, you have 4 assignments plus an online quiz due within the first week of class. I feel his class is not for the working college student.
great class if you're looking for an easy science credit, his pet peeve is tardiness, though, no lecturing - all research work on the computer & you can do it all in class.
I took the online class. It was a tough class, but as long as you apply yourself you will do fine. Research methods "outside" of the box. Stay on top of the assignments!
Easy class, but not a very good teacher. Would go off on rants and not cover what should be on the test. Made several inappropriate comments to several females in the classroom, and favored students. Do not get on his bad side or you will not do well.
Do not take his classes. Online classes have no clarity, it's like trying to get driving directions from Helen Keller. It takes literally months to have your work graded. Worst professor I have had thus far.

Worthless teacher. He does not know what to teach or is just lazy... I will go with lazy because he does have a PhD. However, he does not teach you, he expects you to bring discussion and questions to the table. Then will test you on information you would have had to read or learned on your own. Lord help him and his teaching abilities!
Taken online, this is the worst teacher I have ever dealt with. Give assignments with extremely unclear instructions and acts defensive when you ask him questions about it through email. I didn't learn anything and felt like his class was a waste of time and money.
Horrible instructor. Deducts points on assignments for no conceivable reason. Complete lack of clarity. Defensive when you do ask for clarity. Majority of grade these very hard online quizzes that dont really pertain to material covered in text or class. Group work is on elementary school level. No lectures, just discussions. There's no way I have all the reference material to complete his assignments. Defensive when asking for clarification. Little to no direction in assignments. I've asked around and the entire class is confused. What little references found are incorrect. It's as if he combined a few lesson plans and didn't review. Poor experience overall.

Wilbert Butler is not a good teacher in my opinion. He has not taught the class anything of relevance to biology and it has been three weeks into the semester. I have to read and teach myself the chapters. Every week we go over "discussion questions" which is about 10-20 questions of info. that'll be on the test but he never answers the questions.
I strongly disliked this professor. When students ask for help he doesn't give a straight answer but instead asks questions back to youthe class hoping that we can figure it out ourselves. The quizzes come directly from quizzlet & can be copied; the homework is long but not checked well - the class isn't that hard but I was NOT prepared for A&P II
butler is not a good teacher. gets defensive when asked questions, makes snide remarks and tends to be rude. don't take his class. he didn't teach just sat here. not approachable at all. he didn't know was in the lab manual.
He constantly goes over the same material and tries to force class participation; however, when the class does not respond, he doesn't really even answer. He is running his class like a grad class, where each person is to know the material before they enter the room, but really I feel he is just being lazy. Confusing test questions. "Best answer".
Mr. Butler is a good man but does not teach well. He gave the class four projects to do for the semester with computers and that was it. He sat at his computer and we did very easy high-school level assignments for our "projects" and learned nothing; there were no lectures. Easy A, but not good if you actually need biology for your major.

Imagine that you've hired a carpenter to build you a deck. Now instead of building your deck he hands you an instruction manual and tells you to build it. He comes back once a week and tells you all the things that you've taught yourself that are wrong. Then he gives you a test on chemistry instead of deck building and its worth 40% of your grade.
Dr. Butler does not lecture nor does he teach. He assumes that students know everything from new and old chapters before class. In class he makes the students answer the question and he never really explains anything. If you really want to learn bio and get a good grade then do not choose Dr. Butler as your professor.
Mr. Butler is a great man , however he will make it very painful if you do not participate. There were only two tests and as long as you do all of the homework you will more then likely get an A or a B in the class . He is one of the most honest people I have ever met and he taught me a lot in the 2015 Fall Semester .
Dr. Butler thinks he is doing a good job, but refuses to help the students. He will reread a question a hundred times before even considering helping you out.
He's a good guy and good teacher! He won't give you the answer for anything. He will make you work for the answer and let you figure it out on your own by guiding you.
Dr. Butler is a very different teacher than I've ever had and at first it was VERY challenging. He treats this course like a grad school level course and that's where a lot of people struggle. His lectures are confusing if you don't thoroughly study the chapters he's going over, which you should do BEFORE class EVEN if it's not due yet.
Poor teaching style. First words out of his mouth were "I don't really like talking in front of people" - not a good sign. Terrible in class feedback. Not sure what the answer is? Good luck asking him. "I'll pray for y'all" is the response 99% of the time.

Just go to class and make an EASY A for in class assignments. Homework is super easy, it's just busy work. NO TESTS!!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!!!
I took this class online! It was very easy as long as you did your homework and studied for the test. Didn't really communicate with Mr. Butler, because all of the instructions were clear enough to follow.
Pros: Knows some of the information. The assignments were not difficult. There were only 3 exams (one in class, group test, and take home test) Cons: Very disorganized. He hates lecturing so his class is set up as an discussion based class where there is no right or wrong answer. The take home final exam is extremely hard even google won't help.
You have to read the chapter and do the homework before you go to class or you won't understand it and will be lost. Take notes on the additional information he gives in the lectures. Lots of in-class assignments and lots of homework and quizzes. Available for help in his office hours.

Dr. Butler has a different teaching technique, but I like it. The class is an easy A. No book required, but attendance is key to do class assignments. Show up, take notes and you will pass. I enjoyed showing up to class, and enjoyed him as my professor. TAKE HIM!
Professor Butler is seriously an amazing teacher. I took him in Fall 2016 for BSC1005. I've never been into science, and I really wasn't after this class, but he made class interesting, fun, and easy. All quizzes are at home, and just a few in-class assignments here and there. Not too mandatory on attendance, as long as you're fulfilling your role.
Mr. Butler is a formal man who is teaching "Attention to Details" online in BSC1005. His online class is geared around reading and FOLLOWING the directions. Any departure from the directions, that may or may not all be on the paper being worked, is my responsibility to know. Mr. Butler has provided all the information. Read all Butler types!!!!!!!

literally why anyone would choose this dude to be a teacher is beyond me. he is awful. pros: you don't need a proctor if you're a distance learner and the assignments are relatively easy. cons: everything else. he is unorganized, the assignments often contain links to broken sites that no longer exist so you can't access the material needed.
Hear me out, take this class as a last resort. All of the homework assignments are not clear and as a result your grade suffers. I made a C and I'm a 4.0 student, or at least used to be.... The only advantage is that it is online and it's easy to look up some of the homework questions.
I would suggest not taking this course online. Professor Butler seems like a pretty nice guy, but the instructions on the assignments and the exam were vague at best. He won't answer emails or respond to requests for feedback.
Online class: This class turned out better than expected. I was lost and skipped a couple assignments at the beginning which he gave me 1/2 credit when I completed the late assignments. Class very easy with the help of being your own professor. Look up the assignments and you should pass. I asked for help and he actually responded.
Worst teacher I have ever had. I would never recommend anyone to take his class. the assignments have no instructions or direction, the syllabus is all over the place, he did absolutely no teaching, and was a horrible grader. When I would reach out to him for more instructions I got the response "try googling it" (after the assignment was due).
I'm not even sure where to start on this professor. The due dates were not consistent and were not made clear most of the time and the assignments at the start of the semester were incorrectly uploaded on his part and I was given a bad grade because of his mistake. It seems like he does not know how to use the admin online system. Disappointing.
Butlers a nice professor but his grading scale is too weird. 2 tests and one final with a ton of online homework that only count for 1 point each. The class was out of under 100 points so if you make a B on 2 tests theres no way you can make an A in class.
Butler blows, he's snide, rude and sarcastic so don't bother ever emailing him with a question unless you're ready to put up with childish behavior. 1 test is worth 100 points, everything else is worth 1 point.
He is very moody, calls you out, but if you show up and do the work you get good grade. He loves to go off topic and expect you to understand what he is saying.
Grading is a little strange but overall good teacher. It's very easy to pass with an A so long as you participate.
I ended up loving the class even though he has a different style of lecturing. Homework assignments on every chapter for 1 point each, 3 tests, and an online final. one of the test was a group test. I dont why the other posts says he's rude, Butler is very caring and tries to get student to engage during class.

Took this as a credit class and it was overwhelming to say the least. Homework was nearly everyday, due dates were not clear and assignments had no clear instructions and relevant material to complete. Was abroad when the course started and emailed to let him know if he could give me a grace period of a week to complete homework - no response.
Mr Wilbert a good teacher but he just plain out rude and don't give critical at all.
Do NOT take this class. The professor is very rude and sarcastic. He is not very respectful if there is an issue, and will refuse to talk in the classroom or over email. Grades are never in on time and will go over homework weeks after you turned it in. Save yourself the trouble and do not take this professor. However, it is an easy class.
you barely take any notes unless you want to write down what you put on board which is never on the test. the lowest you can get on a test is a 50. when you are confused, he asks you why you are confused and makes you try to answer yourself, so if you like this type of learning then take him. He is kinda rude and doesn't give clear directions.
Getting stuck with this guy has taught me a lesson on making sure to register for classes early. He is horribly rude and disorganized. He gives "a week" to do an assignment but doesn't upload it until the day before. Don't ask questions - he will just be condescending. It isn't the hardest class (I made an A) but his attitude is disgusting.
Hes a real cool guy, you can call him and ask questions anytime when youre lost. Class mainly discussion based, no need to buy the book. There are weekly assignments but they are super easy (quizlet). His class is so funny.
I took professor Butler class online BSC1005 for the Spring 2019 very easy class and very easy assignment/quizzes. I will recommend taking his online class and don't be late on any assignments. His lack of communication via email/phone is hardcore it takes weeks before you hear back from him. Overall Easy Class I got a B

He takes forever to grade as everyone has stated. He doesn't have the best attitude but his class is pretty easy. I didn't complete a last minute assignment he uploaded a few days before the end of the semester and it brought me down to a B. The best part was that I didn't have to purchase a book because he provided the PDF.
Took this as an online class and it was pretty easy. We had no tests but the quizzes are 70% of your grade.
purchased access code and did not use it. professor barely responds to emails, very rude and not considerate of student life. assigns a lot of work at once with little explanation or direction. quizzes were easy, due every sunday.
BSC2085 classes fill up quick, Wilbert was my only choice. Please, if you genuinely want/need to know the material DO NOT TAKE HIM. You do all the learning at home and you discuss in class. Which is him ranting about anything but the topic. He doesnt know what hes teaching and isnt accessible outside of class. Google is a better teacher.
Professor butler was super easy I took him for an 8 a and he was so funny and a great start to my morning. no tests in his class just online quizzes and classwork. Taught you a lo and wanted your feedback, answered all your questions and responds to emails quickly. Personally, if you are looking for an easy grade but want to learn as well take him!
The class was not hard, it was how he teaches and how he grades. His quizzes are nothing like what he goes through in his lectures. I learned more in my Anatomy lab class then his actual class which is crazy. DO NOT TAKE HIM you will be miserable. If you ask questions, most of the time he will act stuck up because he does not understand it himself.
Online class with textbook provided. Pros: No tests, no final exam. Cons: Terrible teacher. There are homework assignments with little direction, but it's doable with google and the textbook. It was worth it to me to avoid tests. Avoid if you need a lot of direction in class.
Professor Butler was very unorganized, NEVER assigned due dates on canvas so it is very hard to keep track of when things are due, and most of the assignments are done in groups. The class was very easy but it is very hard to stay positive when your classmates don't participate and you are stuck doing a 3-hour assignment by yourself.
Overall a nice person who likes to keep class fun, but he does have his bad days that affect the class. He expects you to know everything about anatomy without teaching. Doesn't lecture so it is confusing. Give a lot of busywork that you will have to look up. He grades hard for not teaching and having to guess. Sometimes says inappropriate things.
Professor Butler reinforced drug use in a lecture I was present for, which puzzled many students. He is extremely strict with attendance, make sure to verify doctor's notes because he will not accept them otherwise. He is extremely temperamental and responds sarcastically to students who challenge his ideals.
He is a great Biology Teacher and his grading weights is different, He tends to put more stock in the quizzes rather than homework, which both aren't hard if you know the material, and he is just overall, a really good biology teacher.
His grades are mostly test I think hes a good teacher a nice man and he didnt. I found his class easy he didnt use online proctoring but his test are not difficult.
The only down fall to this anatomy Lab was that the labeling numbers will not correlate with the pictures so, pay attention
Super easy class you can pass with little effort.
His online course is fine. He just gives out written assignments that are only worth one point but have a lot of questions (can reach up to 30 questions). He prefers the students to call him or meet through zoom during office hours if u have questions. He also tends to take forever to grade the assignments.
I had him for both A&P and the A&P Lab. I actually enjoyed his lab more because all I needed to do was memorize the information from the module especially the terms in the images because he uses the same images for the practical. I like how he included videos in every module since it helped me memorize the anatomical terms in the images.
He is so inconsiderate and such a bad professor in the sense of both being extremely rude and inexplicably does not know what he is talking about. You would be better off teaching yourself the class especially to avoid his bad attitude and ability to ruin your day. His name being wilbert should have been the first sign

For an online class, canvas was awful. It was so unorganized and he was so difficult about files being the EXACT way given even although they download messed up, but he really doesn't seem to care. He was rude and seemed annoyed when I called him when HE made an announcement on canvas to call him if we need to talk about a specific assignment.
He was a great professor and very attentive. Actually cares for his students and their understanding.
Do not this man's class if you plan to go into healthcare and need to actually LEARN about the human body. He will not teach you a single thing. All he does is give hard homework worth low points and then review the homework in class. He is incredibly rude to his students and won't hesitate to insult someone. I can not believe TCC allows this.
I would never recommend this professor to anyone, the textbook is hard to understand, he's hard to understand, whenever he would ask a question to the class, the class is either silent or replies with murmurs, they always sounds unsure, that's because we do not understand his teaching, homework is graded with 1 point and he grades it ridiculously.
Professor Butler's BSC1005 class is pretty straightforward - weekly quizzes make up most of the grade, with no tests. The material can be manageable with the course textbook and resources like unstuck ai. Attendance is mandatory, so be prepared to engage.
Terrible teacher. Won't give you a grade if you put something in a font he doesn't like. No one ever take this man's class he's terrible
Lectures don't make sense and class is a waste of time. I was able to due well solely for the fact I had a lot of background knowledge in biology due to being a senior. However, I didn't learn a single thing in this class.
He is a very nice professor but you have to get to know him to know his humor. He really likes the subject but sometimes you can get lost in the lecture. He also allows you to work with other people on assignments and the class is easy just make sure you do the homework and get good grades on the exams. I recommend working with others on work.

He had some very strange guidelines; that is, he was very particular about the way assignments are formatted (small things like highlighted text would result in a zero). He prefers calling over emailing for questions, but from my experience, would be rude when questions were asked. The workload isn't too bad, just put some effort into it.
Super nice guy. He has an interesting way of teaching where he wants you to answer your own questions and will cold call on you. The lectures you walk out knowing less than when u walked in. Very personable and you can tell he wants you to succeed, but doesn't really do much in teaching you the material. exams and quizzes were online w no honorlock
