A bit of a fast pace... but if you're up for that then I recommend him. I took him for math 107, 108, and 104. He clearly puts it out there for you to understand, and if you need help he does help. This is my opinion on him.

I enjoyed having him as my instructor. Very clear, precise, and he does his profession as he clearly goes on a tangent with some math history or that is math but not on the subject. Also if I really didn't know him I would go for a date with him. Haha. :X
Great teacher. Very clear and makes math easy to understand. Definitely recommended!
he is not helpful at all! and he was rude when people asked questions, making the person sound stupid for asking it.
If you want to learn calculus--this prof is for you! His lectures are organized & clear. His quizzes & exams are challenging. He is a tough (but reasonably fair) grader. You have to do the work to do well in this class (unless you're one of those irritating genius-types.) Very nice guy, & cute, too.
He's so fast paced, that you may need to copy notes from a speed demon note-taker. If you're able to keep up with him, you'll understand everything clearly and do well in the class. Overall great guy.
his test are HARD and hes a tough teacher, he goes pretty fast although he lets you correct your test after you get it back for some additional points or something like that. unless your sound in your math skills i wouldn't really take him
AWESOME teacher. I would of had him again but I moved :( Highly recommended. He makes class easy to understand and he was always open to help any student. Will, if you are ever in The Sacramento area, hit me up ;)
Really cool teacher. His lectures give you everything that you need to know. his class is very structured and the tests are really easy because the homework that relates to the quizzes and tests. He is fast paced and it is important not to miss any of his classes if you're not too good in math.
Martinelli is the shieeet! Very helpful and clear. His class is very organized and will defineatley get you ready for higher level math courses. One of the best math teachers at solano. Just dont fall asleep in his class because he will call you out.
I can't rave about him enough! Martinelli is one of the best teachers I've ever had! His lecturing was so clear & simple that it was hard NOT to understand what he was talking about. Plus, he's just a very nice guy, so I would definitely take him again. If you have trouble in math, take this teacher - I promise, he will make it very clear for you!
Very helpful and informative instructor. During lecture speaks a little about the history of Math.
good teacher. good class but Conrad is way better.
I absolutely loved this teacher! I wonder if he reads this? Hmmm...Class was pretty easy but when things were hard, he explained things to where they were understandable. Pretty hot too! Haha...I think we are the same age Will...*hint*
A real koo teacher. would take him again.
I was recommended to him by a friend and I was very pleased with her recommendation! He still helps me with my current math class when ever I see him around even though I am not in his class anymore. I hope for my math classes to come he will be available for me to take.
I really appreciated his straight forward/no nonsense approach. Has excellant control of the classroom. Very fair grading. Excellant communication. Clear and audible voice (hey, that's important when your hearing impared). Very approachable as a mentor. Will take another class with this instructor.
Very easy class! He explains math well, and lets you choose whether you want to do the homework or just have your tests scores graded more. BUT I will say, his final is hard and long. Over all, he made algebra 2 a breeze!
He is a great teacher! If you're taking math take him for sure!! Be prepared to learn alot!
One of the best instructors that Solano Community College has to offer. If you keep up with all the homework, his class will be very educational and rewarding.
he's a really nice guy tries & to be helpful, but he's just not great at explaining things;goes on & on about irrelevant stuff.in all fairnes, stats is a tough subject to master-& even tougher if you don't have the right teacher. i had to drop his class b/c his teaching style wasn't working 4 me.i think hes a little anal when it comes to grading.
he teaches way too fast. he goes thru the book hella fast. Stats is a hard subject, and his class doesn't help much. I am a MATH person and had problems through out the semester. Take PINTO heard he is quite the man to take for stats. GOOD LUCK!!
Mr. Martinelli is a perfect teacher! hard working and extremely helpful, perfect for any calculus class!!!!
Awesome teacher, learned a lot!
Mr. Martinelli has a handout with directions written out for every section we work on. He goes over the problems step by step on the board so you have good notes to look back on. There is a quiz every day except test days. He is very patient and willing to help if you ask for help. He is very fair and I enjoy going to his class.
The great thing about this professor is that he is EXTREMELY organized. He does not count homework against you, but rather it helps you if you choose to do it. He's a pretty nice guy. He goes on a pretty fast pace, which I also liked. Take notes and you won't need the text. I got an A (97%) in the course without the text.
He's a great teacher! He really knows his stuff and is willing to help if you just ask. HW is optional and he gives points for test corrections. His handouts are a great way to keep track of notes and there are never any surprises on quizzes or exams. I highly recomend him! Good Luck!
One of the best teachers I've ever had! He's the man! I got an A in his class and this is coming from someone who can't stand math. He completely removed any/and all anxieties I had about math. Always ready and willing to help you, explains the information really well. He wants you to succeed! YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIM.
Algebra (intermediate) He was alright. I suck at math so I got a C anyways....but he definetely tells you EXACTLY what he wants. And he explains things backwards and front. He loves to check everything. ALso theres quizes every day but he only counts the highest 14 of 24. :) Check him out!:) Math is math. Hes a good teacher.
Mr Martinelli is awesome! He's very serious in class but that's because he wants you to truly learn the material. Great calculus teacher and very fair grader.
He is not familar with the subject matter and it showed. He explained how to arrive at the answer in many different ways but was unclear on which steps went with which formula. He seemed lost and confused at time.
Calculus is difficult to begin with. Quiz questions are from the homework. He's readily available during office hours. Keep up with the suggested hwk. Tests are difficult but he allows a note card and even provides it for you! Awsome teacher, fair grader, I highly recommend him.
He is the best teacher I have very had. He know what he is talking about and he explains the subject clearly. He gives handout to go along with his lectures to use for notes and it was a very important tool for me. I took him for 102, 104 and 30 and I wish that I could take him for the other class I have to take. Take him you will not be sorry!
He is a very good teacher. Explains everything in detail and when asked a question answers and makes sure the student understands his answer. We have quzzies ever meeting day but they are easy if you pay attention during lecture and do some homework (which is optional). Great teacher! Taking him again next semester for a different math class.
By far the worst professor at solano. He will not give a review and does not understand the materiral himself.
Worst math professor I've ever had!
Honestly, I think Prof Martinelli is one of the best instructors at SCC. He gave a quiz every single day, so you really should keep up on the homework. The subject wasn't too hard but more importantly you could go and ASK for help, and he would be there. He is a great teacher. I am considering majoring in math because of him. THANK YOU WILL!
Martinelli comes off as a cocky jerk. I took his class for three days then switched to Fuchs because he was rude and didn't help the students AT ALL. He made people feel stupid and was on a total power trip. I would definitely not recommend this professor
Professor martinelle, even though i did not pass his class, is a good professor, i learned alot and he is willing to teachif you are willing to learn, hes tough but he teaches the material alot better then most
This class is a very challenging class to begin with. With that said, he is a very giving teacher. He tries to help out in the favor of the student. Nonetheless, his in-class quizzes are hard, the take-homes are harder. Overall, I would take him again.
Mr. Martinelli was a really good math teacher, of course you have to put up the effort and do the work but he is very thorough and you have notes on everything! I would recommend taking him!
This teacher is great. Enough said. So helpful and super organized. I don't even like math but his teaching style made it bearable.
Quizzes are very hard. But they make the tests seem easy. If you keep up with the homework it's easy to get B.
Great teacher. He was very helpful, if you ask questions! There are quizzes everyday to make sure you are learning the material, so attendance is mandatory! I learned a ton in this class and highly suggest taking him if you are a serious student and willing to put forth the effort.
Pretty much if you do every problem in the book, you'll get an A. Most of his quiz problems come in the even problems of each chapter but isn't under the set of problems he gives out. So look out for those. Other than that, his tests are fair and he doesn't throw curve balls at you. Either way, at this level, you should do fine if you keep up.
Best math instructer at Solano in my opinion. Gives quizzes everyday. Homework is optional. And between his handouts and lectures you wont need to buy a textbook. Take him.
He's a great teacher, teaches a decent pace tests are pretty much what he teaches out of the book, overall an easy class
He is a great teacher and he explains concepts thourghly. Gives plenty of examples and never seems to get frustrated with tone of questions!
I'm currently in his Elementary Statistics class. Good looks make me pay attention in class. He's the second most-clarifying math teacher I've ever taken. Weekly quizzes and allows exam corrections.
Best Math teacher I have ever had. I am taking him right now and have never loved a math class so much. He is very organized and it is easy to understand his explanation. It is obvious that he genuinely loves teaching. Oh yeah, and he is really hot. Nothing sexier than a hot guy doing math.
Great teacher. Sometimes he isnt so clear on things, but always has time to answer questions. His class is very chill, and if you do the work you will pass. homework is extra credit. Overall he made stats entertaining, and the class flies by real quick. I would definitely recommend him!
There is sufficent sample evidence to support the claim that Mr. Martinelli is a great teacher.
pretty awesome teacher, breaks problems down. If you need to take math 104, he will be helpful and cleari recommend you take him, he is a pretty fair grader
Very good at explaining topics. he provides you with excellent notes. hes a really cool chill guy and if you just keep up with work and do whats expected you will pass.
Great proffesor! He is my favorite teacher on the Solano campus. He can be picky about what you show with your work but he does tell you what he wants.Homework is extra credit and you can do rewrites on your exams to earn points back! Also on exams you can use a index card for notes and examples.Pay attention and take good notes in class.
Mr. Martinelli gives easy to understand lectures and handouts that breakdown word problems/theorems to help you understand. Calculus is always a challenge but if you keep up with homework and pay attention in class you'll be ok. He is a really cool approachable guy and always available during office hours if you need extra help or clarification.
This Professor is excellent. He is very professional. He puts effort and takes his time to teach this complex material. Sure, his quizzes are hard but they come right from the textbook, he just expects you to do the homework. Study, complete the hw's, and ask him for help when you are stuck.
Mr. Martinelli's credit list is long. As you see, he is a great instructor, but more importantly he is a professional. He knows job well. He has a lot of patience. You can count on him when it comes to his office hours. I think the thing I respected the most is that he doesn't let others disrupt the class and he is very fast with grading papers.
Mr.Martinelli knows what he is talking about when teaching the material and very good at what he does. He is super helpful. The class itself & material was not easy. He is willing to help in any way. Tests were hard but he gives you a notecard to use for each. Quizzes were straight forward and couple low scores get dropped. I recommend taking him.
Mr. Martinelli is the best teacher, PERIOD. i have always disliked math but after taking martinelli i actually started to like it. iv never had a teacher who explained math in a more clear manner. He's super smart, super organized, and hes a cool guy in general. just do your self a favor and sign up for his class already. MARTINELLI IS AWESOME!!
Mr. Martinelli is the best math teacher I have ever had. I think he might breath math - he is seriously passionate about his field. Truly a great, fast-paced class that rewards the studier. You can use MyMathLab as well, which I think was very beneficial to my learning. I thank my God that I had him as my Elementary Algebra teacher.
Will Martinelli is such an amazing teacher. I went into stats with so much excitement because it seemed so interesting, and during the semester I went through a lot at home with my family. I told him and he understood. Towards the end I encountered a D, and he said to pass the final with at least a 75 and he would pass me. I passed! Great teacher!
Great Professor! I've taken him twice for two different math classes and thoroughly enjoyed his teaching style and manner. I just wish he was teaching the next class I need!
One of my favorite teachers ever! At first, he seems a little intimidating but through out the semester you find out hes not that bad. Hes very clear when teaching & will help you w/ anything. Loved, loved this professor!
This teacher is the most organized guy I have ever met in my life. I swear he use to practice his lectures on the board the night before. His tests are straight forward, with a fair amount of challenge. Homework is optional, but will be graded and only accounted for if it helps your grade. Highly recommend.
Awesome teacher!!!! I've taken Math 104 over 5 times and I failed every single time, until I found Martinelli. I aced the first test but got B's and C's on the rest. I also got pretty low scores on quizzes because of my disability (but you take 25 but he keeps 12 of your highest scores). Homework wasn't required, but if you want to pass, Do It!!
I started Mr. Martinelli's class two weeks behind becaused I dropped back from math 4 due to my 17 years absence at school. He a very clear, very thoughtful instructor. He is very fair in his grading but challenges you. He provides excellent notes and is very reasonable in his expectaions. He is also very professional and personable.
Hard, but fair. He wasn't the most patient professor I've had, but he's a nice guy who does try to help.
I took this course because it was a requirement. If I knew his teaching methods from the beginning, definitely wouldn't have taken him. He had a quiz at the beginning of the class and passes out a lot of papers. He drops your highest quiz grade if you're absence is unexcused and he can be unclear at times. I had to drop the class.
Very organized. Plenty of math workload but grades fair. As long as you are doing your homework and studying, you will pass the class.
He's an extremely organized guy. He gave his lectures through handouts so that it was easy to understand and follow along. He's very fast paced, but fairly easy to understand. He gave out quizzes twice a week that challenged us, and he was pretty fair with grading. He wasn't entirely easy, but I'd definitely take him again.
Had Martinelli for both Calc 2 and 3, overall a quality professor. What stands out most is his lectures and grading. He is very meticulous and picky when it comes to grading tests, quizzes and MAC assignments. Didn't do so hot in both classes (my excuse is that I was coming out of high-school lol) but still a great professor.
Wouldn't round 89.9% to a 90% for final grade. Maintained an A the entire semester and Said "maybe next semester I will have better luck" I didn't know school was about "luck". Lectures are clear and straight forward, but moves through the material fast. Hopefully you have some knowledge of math, otherwise you'll be playing catch up all semester.
Took his stats class a few semesters ago. Horrible math teacher. Rushes through topics and doesn't provide any help. If you want help he directs you the math lab. Do yourself a favor and avoid this teacher at all costs!
Mr. Martinelli is super organized he is the best math teacher I have ever had. I actually learnt a lot from his class.
Mr. MARTINELLI has a teaching style that's really different from other Instructors. He gives out handouts that covers the entire section highlighting the important parts. This instructor is extremely organized his tests and exams are fair. As long as you do your homework you should be fine. Take him he is awesome.
If you miss too many classes he WILL drop you. I got help from him in the math lab. He was always very patient and helpful. I never used the book I just used his notes which he types for you and you fill in the blanks. I would highly recommend him for stats. Just keep up with the homework and know your stuff well.
Overall this class was pretty hard. You really have to work for the A if thats what your aiming for. Gave a lot of quizzes and there were 4 tests. Quizzes are harder than tests, and tests are harder than the final. He prints out the lecture for you so no need to take notes. Always available after class if you need help and is pretty friendly.
One of the best math professors at Solano, you will learn a lot from professor Martinelli. Do not expect this class to be easy because it truly isn't. He actually takes the time to create lecture notes that will help you out tremendously. If I could I would take professor Martinelli for all of my math classes at Solano. Very approachable and kind.
Clear instruction. Tests on the homework. Quizzes are on what is demonstrated in class. Present and available for office and lab hours.
I think he is the most talented math teacher I have worked with. He is a great communicator, you always know exactly what is expected and how to proceed. There is a lot of work, it isn't easy. But, the way he explains and lectures has really helped me. I am registering for my third class with him now.
This teacher is the best math teacher I've ever had. Clear and to the point. Has lecture notes ready for the class that you just need to fill in. Focuses on material that he feels is most important and explains how it is used in everyday life.
Super meticulous grader. Do all hw BEFORE quiz. It'll help. Always check your work because he will find something!!! Lets you use notecards on tests, and gives plenty of time on exams and quizzes. Its just easy to fall behind because of the quizzes. ALL macs are in the book. get a solutions manual. And always review your notes, exam probs r similar
this teacher is the worst EVER he is so hard i had to drop him his lectures was so long and so many handouts . he didn't even give us that many to try to do and we never worked in groups the whole class was just lecture I'm like what kind of class is this smh then he give as test then a lecture right after like wth the homework was wayyy to much
Don't bother getting the book because he uses his own examples and worksheets. Overly thorough, explains things in a way that COMPLICATES it MORE. Theres a quiz EVERY class. Instead of going over review/questions before the test, he moves onto next lesson. 2hr class, only 1hr to take exam and rushes you to make sure he's on time with HIS schedule.
Martinelli is a pretty solid choice for a math teacher. You have to be pretty good at following lectures, taking notes, and making sure you understand what he presents. He can be a little hard to follow sometimes. Very approachable, though he will help you. His grading methods are cool too, I got an A without doing any homework.
Martinelli is a really nice guy, but he's extremely hard to pass. He is a really tough grader when it comes to quizzes and tests. YOU WILL TAKE QUIZZES EVERY CLASS! His tests and quizzes are harder then what he teaches in class. He gave us 3 options for homework: Textbook, Online, or not at all (but that comes with a price).
TOUGH grader, very picky but is very clear with what he wants. I told him I needed an A and he calculated what I would need to get on my final to get from an 88 to a 90 and I did it. he is kind of sarcastic and can be sort of very intimidating but he means well he went to JC too. He gives pretty good advice so if you're struggling go ask for help
My favorite math professor at Solano College.
Best math professor at Solano! He makes you work for it. I haven't taken a math course in years. I was worried at first, but Professor Martinelli helps you understand the material. Asking questions is the big key to understanding any course material. Don't miss a class it will really mess you up in the long run. GREAT PROFESSOR
Hes a hit or miss depending on what kind of student you are. Studying is mandatory for this guy and expects you to do lots of work.
You have a choice to use my math lab, text book, or just his notes. He quizzes every class, and is an extremely hard grader. Don't skip class if you want to pass. He is very good at explaining everything.
Professor Martinelli is hands down the best math teacher. I have not taken a math class in over 10 years and he really is good about explaining the material. I plan on taking him for my other math classes. Highly recommend taking his class.
Martinelli is the best. I took him for Statistics and his class is great. He is very clear in the way he explains things. He allows for a notecard on exams, allows test corrections, drops your 4 lowest quiz scores out of the 10 quizzes he gives, and homework is optional (except for MAC Lab assignments). No need for book, he prints out lecture notes
really really hard, "naturally" is what comes to him, not what makes sense to someone who has never done the material.
I finally understand algebra after taking his class! He has handouts for every lecture that you go through together each class. Book is optional and homework is a packet you can choose to turn for points. Quizzes are every day but he drops the lowest scores. And exams you can have a note card. TRY NOT TO MISS CLASS. I am taking him again for stats
I would highly recommend taking Professor Martinelli for Stats. His class structure is very consistent: Your four lowest quiz scores are dropped, you can do test corrections for one exam, and homework is optional. His lectures were very organized and he is always available for help after class. Flashcards are allowed on exams and final.
He is an EXCELLENT math teacher. I love that he teaches through example and goes over the same concepts multiple times while building up to the next step. He sometimes tends to over explain things, which may confuse some people. Don't be afraid to approach him if you're having trouble though, he'll always try to help.
Professor Martinelli is by far the best teacher that Ive had at Solano. He is very straight forward and organized. He responds quickly to emails. I would definitely consider taking his class. Hes very handsome too :)
Professor Martinelli is a simple and uncomplicated professor. He gives you all of the materials necessary to pass his class and is very accessible outside of class. If you need extra help, he's in the MAC lab and his office just waiting for students to ask him questions, and not many people take advantage of this opportunity.
Great teacher
He was a good professor for people who already understand the subject. I would never take him again and it is definitely a hard class so put your phone away, pay attention, and dont skip. Quiz every class and a test all the time around. He does drop a few quizzes which does help
he seems like a good teacher on here, but hes condescending and you have to do everything the way he does and decipher his way of thinking or you wont pass. its either his way, or no way.
Love this professor! He's very straightforward and has a clear grading criteria. Even though the math building still has those old chalkboards, he organizes the things he writes on the board well so you won't get lost, which is one of my pet peeves about some professors who write sloppy on the board.
Had him for Stats and Algebra. Great teacher. Gives you handouts to do notes which helps a lot and allows notecard for tests. Was able to take tests I had missed and do assignments online when I was absent for a month. Really thorough and will answer all your questions and give you as much credit on tests that he can.
Martinelli is the only math teacher I've ever had that has helped me get a grade better than a C. I've always had either a D or lower in math but his packets are easy to follow and there easy to use to self-teach. His exams were never too hard and he was a very caring teacher. Statistic's has never been so easy, I highly recommend him!!!!
Professor Martinelli is an incredible teacher. He works hard to support the success of his students. The lecture notes that he creates process the textbook content and distill it into straightforward concepts and examples... with jokes! Martinelli's kind, supportive style helped me learn to enjoy challenging classes and look forward to taking more
After taking a 20 year break from school, I was very nervous to take this course. Martinelli is the best! He is patient, and knows how to explain things multiple ways for students who learn different ways. He prints all handouts for you, even gives out notecards to use before each exam. It's clear that he cares about his students success!
Excellent professor. He starts off each chapter with a visual explanation of what the formulas actually represent and not just plugging in numbers all day. I didn't expect to learn how to use math in real life. His grading requires students to pay attention and demonstrate their knowledge.
long lectures and group assignments. respected. hard tests
He is a dry person but gets the job done. Don't expect to have fun in his class. He teaches very well, but has strong OCD. You must show every little piece of work, round in different particular ways depending on the question, and will happily take points off if you don't. I've had A quizzes go down to B's bc he has small rules in his brain.
PLEASE do not take an online class for Martinelli. I AM WARNING U RN! Bruv just makes videos and tells us to watch them and he quizzes us on them during class time. But, he does drop low quizzes. But, he gives no mercy. There were almost 25+ people in the beginning, now theres like 11. Normally I dont leave negative reviews, but I want to save you.
terrible, plz dont take him for online class. especially if youre taking math 021. he straight sucks. i thought i trusted this prof from previous ratings. nah. please trust me when i say this but do not take this prof at all.
i know that so many people dont like him, but i thought he was great, especially for an online class. he gave us videos of his lectures to watch on our time, so we didnt have to sit through hours of zoom meetings. hes a really tough grader, but he makes that clear from the beginning. just a good guy who wants his students to know the material
For not taking a math class for two years and jumping right into statistics, he does a great job refreshing your memory on basic concepts. You will be taking lots of notes but they're the most helpful notes I've ever taken. Homework is optional but it will boost your grade if you do it. Just suck it up and buy the ti-84 calculator, it really helps.
Professor Martinelli was overall a great professor! I had already taken Statistics in high school but needed the credits and he made all the content very clear in his notes. I didnt pick up my textbook once and just stuck to the notes for studying. We had 9 quizzes, 3 exams and the final and I felt that it was an easy, structured course!
I guess if you've taken Stats or already understand most of the concept of this subject, then you won't struggle that much. The only thing I like about this professor is very well organized and he is quick to give feedback to his students. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS and take advantage of his office hours if you need extra help.
Hardest class (for no reason) I've ever taken. Test averages were very low for a general ed class. The resources he offers are so time consuming & very hard. You have to work out long multi-step problems by hand with no stats program. If you round wrong every answer is wrong, never consistent with how he wanted you to round. Every test is on zoom.
He is very organized right from the beginning and lets you know exactly what's going to happen. You know when the quizzes and exams are and he has video lectures so that you can learn the material at your own pace. He also has his own notes, so I used those instead of the textbook. If you ask him questions, Zoom or email, he will help you.
I took this class two years ago and it was good for an online math class. Not sure if this is still the case, but Professor Martinelli would post youtube videos breaking down each section bit by bit and it helped me tremendously. I don't think I would have been able to pass an online math class without those in-depth videos.
Amazing Professor!! He explains well and wants to ensure you understand the material before the quiz/exam. Homework was optional based on connect math (Free two-week trial, $70 for one year). If you don't want homework, your grade is based on quizzes and exams. You also need a TI-83 or 84 calculator (I highly recommend TI-84).
Very good teacher who definitely understands Calculus. Pretty tough grader, some things marked off on my quizzes seemed minor but he took away major points at times. Quizzes basically every class but he drops your 6 lowest out of 16 you take. Material is difficult but he is very available and approachable if you have questions.
This is my second time taking stats and I wish I took Prof. Martinelli the first time. I did the course online but canvas was very well organized and structured. Some advice for future online students, PRINT OUT THE NOTES AND WATCH THE LECTURE VIDEOS. DO NOT just rely on the practice problems because it will not be enough for exam and quizzes.
Professor Martinelli is really kind. His lectures are really easy and so helpful. He has all the notes ready for you in PDF form so all you have to do is print them and then fill out some blank 'do it yourself questions' but he doesn't do powerpoint lectures or anything! The Zooms aren't mandatory but they help a lot so I recommend going to them!
Professor Martinelli was awesome, probably the best teacher I have ever had. He was so organized, you know what material will be covered on what day, when tests are, from the first day of class. He has recordings of everything so you can go back and rewatch for clarifications. He is very good at explaining and loves to stay after class to help.
Professor Martinelli is the first good math teacher I've had, and I enjoyed taking his class. He is a somewhat tough grader but is very good at his job.
His lectures are well organized and he goes into depth about the content. His grading criteria is a bit tough but he gives clear feedback and written notes on tests and quizzes. I took his statistics class expecting it'll be really difficult but the way he explains it makes it a lot easier than expected.
His class is really easy, you just have to pay attention to his lectures. He makes it very easy to understand and he's always open to answer any questions you may have. He doesn't assign homework. The homework is optional (CONNECT MATH) which is actually very helpful for the quizzes and tests.
He was an amazing professor and I wish I could take him for the rest of my math classes at Solano.
Great professor. He teaches in a way that you are able to understand. Will try to take my calculus classes with him in the future. Highly recommend.
He was amazing for Calculus 3. When I asked questions, he would answer them in a way I could understand and bring up other info as well to solidify his meaning. He's more of a strict grader than expected though, and itemizes things. You should definitely know how to u-sub and integrate by parts perfectly. He loves to chat and is fun as well!
If there was a nuclear holocaust, the only survivors would be cockroaches and his tests. He seems happy, but there's just something off about him. He smiles, but there's no warmth there. Just a terrible emptiness. Something happened to make him this way. I do not know what it was. No one does. He reminds me of disgruntled shopping mall Santa.
I think he is a nice and very smart teacher, but his teaching style wasn't for me. Don't take it unless you're already a genius or are good at memorizing things immediately. Daily quizzes (you learn one day and are quizzed the next class), only allowed a note card on exams and final. Optional hw (will count if you choose to do it) but is $100.
This man willie... this is the man to take fr... He is so caring, respected, and def cares about his students. Probably one of the best professors I have had, he makes it very easy to understand. Your math grade is really only determined by your quiz and exams, the math support is the practice we do in class which is why attendance is mandatory.
Pretty great teacher, he is very specific about grading on tests and will mark you down for little things. He always explains the answers on exams/quizzes and what common errors were. He is quick to respond and has quizzes every 3 classes. Optional homework on "ALEKS" that can only help your grade.
I think he's nice and a smart prof, but his teaching style wasn't for me. It felt like he was just droning on and I couldn't comprehend anything he was saying. Optional HW costs $100 to access. Quizzes were frequent, you would learn something one day and be quizzed on it during the next class. Don't take it unless you're a naturally quick learner.
I never wore a seatbelt on the way to his class hoping I could escape those daily quizzes by vaporizing myself out of existence. You can't cheat because nobody knows the answers. Bring a pillow so when you lose consciousness your head won't slam on the desk. And bring a pillow for your pillow because your pillow will fall asleep too.
The only thing you'll get from this man's class is the desire to calculate the surface area of his AUDACITY, if only he could teach you the calculus to do it. If only the FBI hadn't showed up to storm his house every time he had to make a post on Canvas, he might have been slightly bearable, but alas.
Professor Martinelli is a really great professor if you take the time and meet with him outside of class, or just truly pay attention during class to his lectures. He goes over the content very thoroughly, and reinforces it with group activities at the end of almost each class. If you're not really a people person, the class may not be for you.
Professor Martinelli's class is challenging but worth it. He explains concepts thoroughly and provides helpful in-class activities. The grading can be tough, but staying engaged and using tools like Unstuck ai for study prep can really pay off. Definitely take this class if you're willing to put in the work.
Mr. Martinelli is a great professor. He lays everything out for the students and breaks everything down into bite sized lectures. The class is based purely around quizzes, exams and the final, but he has a good grading policy. He does care about his students and provides further resources if needed. Would recommend.
The course is challenging but he's a good professor. He breaks the lectures down in a way that it's easy to understand. Quizzes and exams make up most of the workload, but he allows note cards for them.
Hes really good at answering questions. Sometimes he overexplains things and lectures can get boring but if you pay attention you can get a lot out of it. His grading is tough and sometimes seems random...But if you think your score isnt fair then you should tell him bc he will usually hear you out. Btw he gives out quizzes almost every day.
Professor Martinelli structures this class around quizzes that are usually once per week (sometimes twice per week). This seems daunting at first but it forces you to keep up with the material which is nice. If you learn better through doing practice problems, Martinelli will be a good professor for you with his frequent quizzes and Web Assign HW
This was a difficult class in general but Professor Martinelli has a teaching style that is suitable for the subject-data driven, consistent, organized, and systematic. His lectures are extremely clear and thorough. Yes, some lectures may be over explained, but there are some students who could benefit from that approach as well. Recommend!
The effort you put in is the grade you'll get. Pro: Offers in-depth note packets, review quizzes before actual ones, one index card for quizzes and exams, gives you ALL calculator shortcuts, and drops the lowest 3 quiz grades. Con: Lectures can be mundane, ask a "yes or no" question and he's gonna answer in 3 paragraphs, watch YT lectures on 2x.
Good professor especially by math standards. Stats is a difficult class but I never struggled with the material too much due to his packets. Lectures are lengthy and can feel like a waste of time because they're all online. Very chill about attendance though. Gives you all the materials you need to pass the class! Would recommend if you need stats.
He was a great professor, the lectures were very in-depth and explained most, if not all of what the chapter had. I wouldn't go as far as to say "boring" as some other reviews, but I can agree that the lectures were pretty mundane and you are mostly sitting down and coping the board. I do reccomend this professor.
Great professor overall, but you need to put in the time to learn the material if you want an A. He is talkative, approachable, and easy to interact with, I loved talking about football with him. His lectures are a bit fast and his stats exams and some quizzes have tricky questions that need solid understanding. Expect difficult weekly quizzes.
Mr Martinelli was a good professor - Tests basically weekly but you get note cards to use for them. He is generally a pretty nice guy but he can tend to go on rants mid lesson. Do not expect to leave class early... ever. His hw is optional but it costs $100 so be wary... Lectures are posted online, if you miss a class its okay but watch them in 2x
Great professor for people who aren't math savvy. Attendance is important, studying is important, and tests are a major part of the grade.
Prof Martinelli is pretty chill, he gives printed copies of the packets he goes over in lectures so no outside sources needed. Optional homework but the program costs money. He has a problem with over explaining stuff sometimes which can make it feel more complicated than it is.
Long lectures, quality examples. Quizzes every week and 4 tests. Answers questions and is accessible at office hours. Have to study outside of class
