Puts math into easy to understand terms. He is pretty goofy but a great prof.

Dunn is the best math teacher ever! He is extremely easy! I hated math and never could understand it before, and I totally understood everything while taking his class. He talks the whole calss period, working out problems on the board. All you have to do is take notes. He grades homework assignments on effort. He grades tests very fairly!

Easiest math teacher ever! Highly recommended! His tests are super easy and even if you get half of the answers wrong, you still get a B on it. He grades on effort. So, as long as you attempt something, he gives you credit. You can get the whole test wrong and he'll give you a C. Nobody fails with him!

Dr. Dunn is a fantastic math professor and makes even the hardest concepts very clear. He is a bit of a kook though and with that purple ribbon he likes to wear around his pony tail I think he thinks he is old Ben Franklin. If you really want to learn math this is the guy to teach it to you.

I would advise anyone who doesn't understand math...not to take Mr. Dunn. He does the math and problems but doesn't explain why you do things! He doesn't teach or go over use of the graphing calculator. His tests are easy if you teach yourself from the book and there isnt any graded homework.

Dunn spends too much time talking about anything but Math. Can't stay on subject and does not like to be told that you don't understand his teaching. Arrogant, world revolves around him persona. He is very intelligent but not the best teacher out there.

I agree 100% with the comments from 4/10/06. This is NOT the teacher to take if you actually WANT to learn Math or do well in his class. He doesn't explain or give any details. He assumes you know certain things and therefore does NOT like anyone to ask any questions. Makes it obvious that he doesn't care if you get it or not. Unapproachable!

Not the most friendliest teacher out there. Very rude at times especially when you ask him about a homework or a test. He's not intrested in his student's concerns. Finds himself lost in the middle of lectures and often comes up with the wrong answer when explaining the solution to a problem. I would not recomend him.

Pretty good. Does get stuck on non-related topics sometimes. Corny jokes. Gives only 4 "Homeworks"; 2 of which I didn't get (1 because I took the test in ELC & he didn't attach it). If you need help on actual math problems: go to your book or a tutor. He will explain it just the same no matter how many times you ask about it. Pretty easy tests.

Dr Dunn is a great teacher his tests are easy and cover basic concepts. His lab homework is difficult. For those who feel Dunn is unaproachable I would suggest asking your questions in class he loves to teach but seems to prefer explaining to an entire class rather than taking his time out of class.

Good teacher best grade I've ever gotten in a math class. Lets you use handouts on the test and gives good examples. He's kinda corny but at least he likes his job.

He is a great professor for anyone who does not usually do well in math. He explains throughly and gives many examples. He is also willing to stay after class or come in early for those who are confused. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class.

Very nice guy, great personality. The class however, is a little difficult, but he is very willing to help if you need it. Just do the assigned homework and you should be fine.

Great teacher!! I've taken him twice, and think I'll take him a third time if I can. He puts everything on the board and makes math easy to understand! I always recommend him to all of my friends (especially for College Algebra).

One of the best techers if not the best teacher i have ever had. his class is nothing but fair. He could teach anyone math! Hes lectures are easy to listen to and are always helpful.Tests are easy if you do all the homework, and he is always willing to help. He should be your first choice!

Took trigonometry, great teacher. Very knowledgeable. As with any math class, you have to keep up with the course work (3 units per week) or else you will fall behind. There is no review, however the text book he uses has chapter tests which work out great as reviews. If you slack, you won't get a great grade, go to class and do the work easy 'A'.

Took this class for summer I. This guy is funny and he is really good at teaching things so you understand. Lets you use a cheat sheet for every test which is nice. Made an easy A by showing up to class and doing the little homework that he assigned every day.

BEST MATH TEACHER!! He explains Algebra in a way that you actually makes sense. He is very nice and laid back. He doesn't use MyMathLab. You do your homework on paper, which is also a good study guide for the tests. He won't overwhelm his students and he makes sure everyone understands the material. Best math teacher I've ever had. Clearly has a passion for the subject, and knows the ins and outs of every topic and how to break it down in a simple and interesting way. Lectures are short, and he doesn't waste peoples time with things that aren't nessecary. Once, he broke out in uncontrollable laughter when he realized 1-(1/3)+(1/5) ... = pi/4

Easily one of the best teachers I've had at lonestar. Lectures are interesting, and he loves math so it makes the class fun. Tests are pretty easy and straightforward. You definitely need the book (for calc anyway), homework is also pretty easy. All in all I highly recommend him

I DREADED taking College Algebra, honestly Mr.Dunn was the easiest teacher. Just pay attention and do the homework, the homework is basically the test review. WILL NOT NEED ACCESS CODE . Only bad thing, is that he tells really corny jokes. Otherwise great professor !!

Dunn is a very smart professor. He knows what he is doing and like everyone says just do your homework because they're required and the exams will be a piece of cake. Take him for calculus and you WONT REGRET IT

Great professor! His lectures are easy to follow. The tests are just like the homework problems. There were usually 2-3 bonus questions on the tests, too. Class usually ended 30+ minutes early. He is very passionate about math!

A great teacher, he enjoys the subject and that goes a long way to making the class more interesting. Bonus questions on every test. Homework is done on paper and turned in at each test but you won't get it back until the end of the semester.

If you want an easy A- take him. If you're an engineeringmath major like me & actually want to understand the math- don't take him. He is a kind guy, loves to make jokes, and loves math. His tests are almost always take home and hes very lenient with homework. For linear algebra, I got an A & understood half of what I should have out of the class

Does not drop lowest test grade. I'm an engineering major and I tend to think like an engineer but I had a HARD time understanding whatever he teaches because he has to accommodate to all those people who do not like math.

Mr. Dunn was a good teacher. He gave us what he wanted us to learn and was helpful if you needed help with assignments. He gives credit on the tests for steps. He is okay in general.

Dr. Dunn is amazing! It has been 10 years since I took Calc I and I was able to jump right in and continue. He refers you back to previous chapters when needed. Tells stories and jokes. You can tell he is passionate about math. He grades based on comprehension of the task, not just if you get the right answer. You must do the homework - it's graded

I took his Pre-Calculus course because he was highly recommended. Homework is a completion grade and on paper. He helped me out once when I went and talked to him but he seemed very mad at me even though he helped me out.

Professor Dunn is a role model in mathematics instruction. He has deep content knowledge, and presents material in an entertaining and clear manner. His class is structured for student success, and I had the most fun in college in this class.

He is an amazing professor. He explains things clearly and gives partial credit to wrong answers on the test. The homework he only grades as a participation grade, so if you do it and turn it in on time you get all the points. I truly believe if I had taken any other professor I would have struggled to barely pass, but with him I got an A.

He's a laidback type of guy. He knows the material really well, and he is not obsessed with jamming you with unnecessary information. His tests are simple, but make sure you still study for them. His jokes are funny, but sometimes I would laugh just to be nice. Clear lectures. I recommend you take him for any level, but especially calculus II.

I am currently taking Algebra with Mr. Mathis. He is extremely intelligent and hopelessly nerdy (which I find endearing). His lectures are unforgettable. When I do homework I can see him making some goofy gesture or telling a funny story that relates to the content. This helps me understand the math that has eternally confused me. Recommend 100%.

Professor Dunn is a one of kind! Im currently taking his summer 1 class and it was the best decision I've made in a while. Math isnt my strongest but Dunn ties jokes to help you understand. All his test are free response with about 12 questions with extra credit. Hes old school so no math lab required (just order book off chegg). good luck!!

He likes to joke around in his class but overall he's a great teacher. He tries to clarifies stuff if you don't understand and usually does his work at a student's pace. Easy to work with as long as your determine to put some effort in memorizing! He uses problems from textbooks and doesn't try to stress students too much.

Professor Dunn is my favorite math teacher ever. I learnt a lot in his class. I took him for calculus II, and the material was super clear. Get ready to work, there are lots of homework, but practice is essential if you want to learn the material. Exams are easy if you work. 4 tests+final. No replacing grades. He is also hilarious. He is good at teaching Linear Algebra, but the textbook itself, it gets complicated. He gives 5 take home exams and then a final. Once you take a final, it gets BRUTAL because nobody finished it and he also doesn't drop/replace lowest test grade! He also gets grumpy sometimes. But overall, he's a good professor.

So first things first Calculus in itself is a different subject. However, Dr. Dunn is a great professor. He made Calculus 2 seem extremely easy and fun. He tells corny math jokes, which I didn't mind. There are 4 exams, 1 journal, and Final. The homework is the exercises at the end of each section and turned in together for each test.

Corny jokes will get you through the semester. Does not use online hw! Read the textbook and go to tutoring and you will definitely get a A! He often has extra credit at the end of the test, which really helps. Really good at explaining the material!

I took him for differential equations and linear algebra. He is by far my favorite mathematics teacher I've ever taken. He says a lot of corny math jokes, which IMO is pretty funny. if you follow along and take good notes the take-home tests are easy. somewhat a lot of HW but you can skip a couple problems and he wont mind.

I took this class for calc 2, and he is amazing. He knew the material, was extremely adept at explaining the homework and funny in his own way. I highly recommend him and am hoping to take his class again for calc 3

Took this as an online 6 week course. His notes were great, he replied to emails, and he was funny and nice. Hes there to answer questions & math lab helps a lot. 4 tests w/ 3 attempts, homeworks were unlimited attempts. His notes made learning the material super easy. Not a huge time commitment, my schedule was busy & I did fine. Great teacher!!!

Take Dr. D's class! You won't regret it. You NEED to attend class though. He makes calculus so understandable and is very approachable to ask questions. Clear expectations. No busy-work. Hybrid class has heavy my-math-lab use and not much use of the textbook, but he does reference its examples. Disappointed he is not teaching Calc II next semester.

Prof. Dunn is one of the best math teachers I've had. He moves quickly enough that it doesn't get boring but makes sure there aren't any questions before moving on. The homework is due all at once before the tests, and the questions on the tests are very similar to the homework. Mandatory attendance, but you won't want to miss class anyway!

He clearly loves math and loves teaching it. The tests are pretty short and have extra credit questions on the end. Not a lot of homework considering that this is calculus after all. He grades tests really soon after you take them most of the time and when he makes a mistake in a calculation he just takes it in stride. DEFINITELY recommend him!! :)

Very clear lecturer, writes a little slow but he lets class out early and still gets the material across perfectly so no complaints about that. Tells jokes throughout the lecture, and he is very good at drawing models for units that benefit from pictures. Class is an easy A as long as you go to his lectures with bonus questions on all the tests.

I SUCK at math. I was very nervous for algebra but omg I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR. I would always get 70s-80s on my math tests but I was able to get an A IN EVERY TEST in Mr Dunns class.the way he teaches is just so amazing.Allows calculators and allowed my class a page of notes for every exam. My fav prof of all time. TAKE MR DUNN

He is excellent at teaching, can easily explain complex topics. Test are only about 10 questions and are pretty easy, and there is always at least 2 bonus questions. Test do make up a good portion of the grade so study well. Nothing is posted d2l which is a bummer. The final was very difficult compared to previous test so study extra hard for that.

if every math class i took was taught by him, i would pass them all with flying colors. he explains each topic so well. he walks you through equations and gives examples, and then you do a couple on your own, which he goes over with the class. he's also great because he ends class like 40 minutes early! he's so funny and sweet! Please take him!! As someone who is not a math person, I liked how our homework was light and only due the day of the exam. The exams are short and leniently graded, and he is accessible outside of class. he is a hilarious person, and goes on lots of tangents. Clearly loves what he does and makes class entertaining, despite it being at 8 am.
