He gives lots of examples and his tests are direct and not tricky.
he explains the material very clearly and is very willing to take any question from a student. great math teacher.
great teacher! if you do the homework, you'll ace the tests and quizzes. he's also very helpful during his office hours, so dont hesitate to go to him for help!
His teaching is very direct and precise. It's easy to follow evewn though a little fast. He does examples and explains as much as possible. His tests are pretty straight-forward - from the HW and fair. He helps out as much as possible. One thing I didnt like though was that he collects homework randomly and gives quizzes randomly (although easy).
if you have a choice, take any and all your math classes with him. he's the best!
Great teacher. Its as easy as a math course can be. Direct, precise, and fair. Not interested in busy work or working more than necessary. Take him if you can.
Calc 3 was not my thing so obviously I'm biased. As far as teaching, Willard has the personality of a doorknob and completely fails at trying to captivate the interest of students. IMO a good professor can take a dry subject and make it palatable. Willard pretty much gives it to you straight whether you like it or not.
Scott is the best! He is not exciting to listen to although he has a couple jokes up his sleeve. The tests come straight from the homework and are not tricky. If you do the homework (which isn't that much) you'll do great in the class.
Scott Keeran is an amzing calculus teacher. He is always avaible for help and office hours. And though things can get a bit awkward when someone angers him he usually has good class demeanor and a random joke thrown in here or there. His test are straight from the homework. Take him if you can!
He covered a lot of material, which made the class very hard.
Keeran was an okay guy overall. At times spoke very fast, but always clarified things and stopped to answer questions. Keeran crams the curriculum during the summer semester making the class very difficult!
Keeran's amazing, probably the best math teacher I've ever had. He goes fast, but he has to to cover all the material. He's willing to explain anything even if only one person in the class needs it. His tests and quizzes are just like the homework. He also has a rather dry sense of humor. Take him if you can!
Awesome guy. He goes through the material pretty quick but makes sure you understand. Tests are just like the practice problems he goes over in class and HW. Take this class!
for the most part this was an very easy class. all you need to do is know the material. you cant BS the tests. test averages around 72 74 64 and not sure about the final. Most people however did not know what they were doing going into these tests. if you know the material everything on the test is extremely straight forward nothing tricky
Do not take this man. He is a nice guy and all but is extremely paranoid. Assumes the class cheats, even before first exam. Muliple choice tests, no partial credit, promised homework, quizzes, and curves to help grade, never did any. Makes answer choices on tests look exactly the same on purpose. ok at teaching, testing style will hurt you severly.
Took him for both calc 3 and diffEQ and both times I had to drop the class. He's not a bad guy but his tests are terrible. Multiple choice test means working 15 minutes on a problem and getting 0 points because you either made a small error, or you couldn't decipher his cryptic answer choices in the short time given. Avoid if possible.
Don't listen to the negative comments. I tried to go out of my way to figure out which diffyq and calc3 class he was teaching after taking him for calc 2. He is awesome, especially since many mathematics profs have somewhat of a language barrier. He is crystal clear in lecture (very prepared with many examples) and his tests are exactly like them!!
Not a bad lecturer, but tests were extremely difficult. The questions were often presented in a confusing way and most of them where multiple choice (no partial credit) and the tests were too long to be taken in the hour given. Keep in mind your grade is based only on the tests. He's not impossible, but try to get somebody else if you can.
my advice to all those who plan to take his class: be able to do all problems he assign, and be able to solve them QUICKLY!!! otherwise the exam is very straight forward.
Go to class, take advantage of office hours to get questions exam grades, and study the problems he assigns. Difficult class, but good professor.
I like his teaching style. Very straight forward and knows what he's doing. Very boring tho. Only talks monotone and never jokes or smiles. Only grades are tests and multiple choice so no room for error at all. You mess up your grades screwed. Tests are way harder then the practice ones and hes the most paranoid guy I have ever met about cheating.
Don't let the small number of questions your grade is based on frighten you. He knows its a small number of questions so they are all generally easy, but do overstudy for each exam because one mistake brings you down a letter grade on multiple choice. Nice teacher, cares if you do well or not. Calc 2 is a breeze with him if you keep up.
Good lecturer, easy to understand, but kind of boring sometimes. He is very helpful, willing to stop in the middle of class to answer students' questions. HW is optional but helpful. Tests are really hard but not impossible, and they're difficult to study for too. Teaches the material well, but the tests are killers.
Clear and to the point. But takes his time to make sure all tricky problems of a concept are covered in the lecture. Multiple-choice tests can be both a blessing and a curse depending on how well you study for the material. Relatively easy tests. It's a great class if you like to slack off and then study your @$$ off a week before the tests.
He is an amazing teacher and can actually make you learn the subject. Unfortunetly, his tests are not something that show you know it. The only grades in the class are 4 tests, and that includes the final. Test are majority multiple choice and have 7-9 questions per test. Something as simple as an alegbra/sign mistake can lower your grade.
Summer class, everyday. The programming assignments were killer, and took way too much time to figure out, but MATLAB is a hard language. The lessons he taught were very easy to understand. His tests are harder, but I definitely learned a lot in this class. Definitely a teacher you want to take if you want a challenge.
Had him for diff eqns. Good lecturer. Exams are extremely difficult. Had to drop the class. Don't take a class with him unless you plan on devoting a ton of time to it. Otherwise you will fail.
Knowledgeable, thorough, fast, organized, and not prone to mistakes. Wrote out solutions to all problems and posted them the first day of class, which was immensely helpful. He obviously cares about teaching and is very aware of his mannerisms (too aware?). Tests are mostly multiple behind the methods, and if you miss class you'll be lost.
GREAT teacher! very clear and doesn't go to fast or too slow. the only thing that's difficult are the exams. make sure you practice a lot to get your speed up or else you won't finish in time. 7 MC and 2 FR for each of the 3 exams and then the final is all MC. if you need diff eq's, take keeran!
completly nuts and paranoid about cheating! one of the driest and most boring styles of lecturing i have had at UF. His tests are very tricky with no room for error b/c they are multiple choice. One missed ? drops u a letter grade on a test. Study a lot to be sure u know the material! I would avoid taking him and get someone else if possible
DO NOT TAKE HIM... take this class the following semester but do not take it with this guy! Although he teaches very well and his lectures are just flawless, his exams will make you regret you stayed in the class. The material is easy but the exams are designed so you fail. (your exam scores will go down exponentially as the semester advances)
Great lecturer, explains the material very well even though he is a very boring/droll teacher. His tests are multiple-choice and EXTREMELY difficult. I do NOT recommend him.
His exams are designed to make you fail. The material is easy but he makes tests impossible to finish in one hour. Do NOT take him if you can!!
A very fair teacher. The first 3 test were reasonable and he was helpful if problems stemmed during exams. I thought the final would be on the same level as the previous test, I have never been so wrong in my life. Study efforts for final should be tripled!
This guy is worthless. Let's see, where do I begin? He has no TA's, his classes are overcrowded with 350+ students. You can't contact him by email and he is hesistant to help students. I am an honors student taking this class for grad school admission. You will not do well in his class. I've passed rock hard turds easier than this class.
Terrible class which is made far worse by the professor. The lectures are impossible to get through, and every test question is aimed to trick you. This paired with the incapacity to reply to student's emails, and general disregard for them made this class hell.
Keeran is an absolute disaster as a teacher. This was his 1st semester at UF. He was previously employed at the prestigious Santa Fe Comm. College. Dont let that fool you, he tries to prove himself at the big boy school by being unreasonable. He refuses to use Elearning, and had no office hours during finals week. BEWARE
Hardest tests I've taken at UF. I understood the material inside and out and still did poorly because the multiple choice exams were so tricky.
Keeran's class wasn't easy by any means. He speeds through lectures, shows little to no emotion, and is always extremely serious and borderline rude to his students. However, the real "professor" for this class (Zach from TZ) knows his stuff and he helped a whole lot on the exams. A's are possible if you work hard enough/took calc in high school.
His test are extremely hard. He's extremely boring and hard to listen to. On one of the test, our class had a 57% average and he didn't care. I ended up dropping the course and definitely don't want to take it with him again!.
This class is not hard if you go to his lectures and take notes. His tests start out easy and then get harder as the semester goes on. He is very helpful if you need help and go in during his office hours. I went to class and did the homework and had no issues
He is a good prof. and all you have to do is appreciate his dry sense of humor and dont be fooled by his monotone voice. His tests werent bad but math is one of my stronger subjects. If math is not your thing do the HW and go to TZ and you will be fine. The only bad thing about this class is you grade consists only of tests.
Will never understand why he gave a majority multiple choice exam in a math class. Is a bit of a jerk, too.
WORST MATH TEACHER EVER! I hate this class. I have never done poorly in a class until this one. This teacher is terrible. His tests are extremely hard and don't have a good format for a math test. My advice would be to wait until he is out of here to take this class because there is no way he will stick around with such low class averages.
This class is very difficult, but if you do the homework, go to class and office hours you'll be okay. He posts the homework solutions and answers, as well as reviews and past tests online, which help A LOT. Unfortunately, he wont be teaching this class next semester, and he said that the next person is using web assign. Good luck!
Awesome teacher. Love this guy. Tests are tough but fair. Great jokes making fun of diff eq and math. Ended up getting a C+, thought I was on track for a B+ or even A- but oh well. This class was very enjoyable despite it being diff eq (diff eq in general = boring). Love this guy. Almost want to be a math major to have him again.
Great lecturer, this guy knows his stuff. He gives great examples and you really understand the material. Problem is his tests are ridiculously tricky, not hard, tricky. Go to class, office hours, and do all the homework/practice test. I scraped a C+. Work really hard, you'll be ok. Final was nearly impossible. Only 4 tests, 25% each. Good Luck.
Believe what most people are saying. Keeran makes the subject harder than it needs to be. He is a straightforward lecturer, despite being dull, but his lectures don't give you a good feel for what's on the tests. Study from the book a lot, doing practice problems from there. That will best prepare you. If you can, take with a different professor.
I had to take this class twice, the 1st time in a lecture hall 2nd time in a small class. You have to do the homework if you want a chance of passing this class. It is easier to pass in the smaller setting cause the tests are not multiple choice. If you dont get a small section, change sections or teachers!
Before taking Keeran's class I read this website and was afraid. There is nothing to be afraid of though. I got an A in the class and never did any of the homework, Keeran himself prepared me for the tests. He teachers through example, and that is exactly how I learn best.
I was a little afraid to take this professor after reading some of the postings, but he is very good. If you listen and do the homework problems, you will be fine. I even took him for another class. He teaches by examples which is a good way to learn math.
Keeran teaches like a boss and uses lots of examples. All the scathing reviews here can be explained by the stupidity/laziness of the posters and are unwarranted. Keeran no longer gives multiple choice exams, and he gives partial credit. His test ?'s came from easy homework problems and lectures. Go to class, do the homework, and you'll be fine.
He is actually a really good teacher. He has a bit of theory to lectures at times, but it's not that important to note. When he actually goes into detail about how to do the problems, he's great. He is very detailed and does lots of practice problems. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS IF YOU EVER NEED HELP!!! He is actually a great guy outside of school.
Keeran is a champ. Uses plenty of examples, is humorous, and genuinely knows his material. Effecient: won't waste your time. Definitely the reason why I did so well in calculus 2. Practice problems are a necessity as well.
You can't ask for a better teacher, he is extraordinarily cool and only asks that you pay attention in class and do the homework.
He's legitimately a super hero. He's the epitome of a math professor: giant glasses, lanky, chalk all over his hands...but what most people don't know is that he transforms into a superhero at night. And he cracks hilarious jokes during class. Seriously, TAKE THIS CLASS.
Willard is the bomb! He is actually a secret super hero at night. But seriously he is a great teacher. To do well in his class all you have to do is show up and do the homework. And he is really funny during lectures sometimes.
Fair but pretty easy. Just pay attention and show up to class.
Awesome professor. One of the best in the math dept. Show up, do your hw, do the practice test and you are pretty much on your way to an A. Brilliant!
LOVE HIM. he was definitely the reason I got an A.
In college it's rare to find a professor who can actually teach. Keeran is a great teacher. Do the HW, GO TO CLASS, and you will have an A. Explains everything very well. Take him.
GO TO CLASS. or else you will most likely fail. It is impossible to cram for his test 2 or 3 days before it.
Didn't go to class and barely pulled a C with using Cramster and his answer solutions he has online. The times I did go to class the notes I took never really seemed to help me. Not a terrible option for a teacher but if you can choose someone different I would.
Professor Keeran is a really good lecturer. His notes are very clear. You just have to make sure you attend class regularly (or you'll have to go to office hours and get the notes there). Do the homework regularly even if it's not mandatory; it helps you stay on track when preparing for the exam!
I took Calc I with him here at UF and he was great! The lecture notes were all from Smith, but he only went over the important examples during class and skipped the theory that could potentially confuse people. He's very nice and helpful, as well as encouraging. Also he's funny! Take him!! Easy class.
He has a clever sense of humor, however, he goes really fast through lectures. One is always ahead of an exam by at least one extra lecture. One needs to be able to write quickly too in order to keep up with his notes.
Professor Keeran is a great teacher and is very helpful. His lectures are very thorough and as long as you go to class, you shouldn't have a problem getting an A.
He's fine but can't keep his eyes open. Really tries to make funny sarcastic jokes. I go for clicker questions, do SE and Tutoring Center and get As.
He'll probably tell you this on the first day, but it's true: Go to class and do the homework. Exams were mostly variations of homework problems and MATLAB assignments. Easy class as long as you don't slack off, and if you like bad jokes he tells A LOT of them.
Linear Algebra is a pretty dull subject, but he does his best to make lectures at least somewhat entertaining. The subject material is not very challenging, it just takes consistency. Lecture attendance is not necessary: read the book, do the onine homwork, review all before the test. Oh, and start the Matlab projects early. Good luck!
He has been one of my favorite teachers here at UF so far. He is a very straight forward guy and will not pull any dirty tricks on tests. Linear algebra can be a bit dry (although really easy) but he is entertaining with his corny jokes. Just go to class and do the homework and you will get an A without much effort (for this class at least)
I heard that this used to be a good class, but there was a new professor this semester and he was super disorganized. There should have been a curve in the end to compensate for the quality of instruction, but he refused to curve so a lot of people got below a C. Take this class at community college if you need it for critical tracking!
Overall Dr.Keeran is approachable. I did not anticipate to receive the grade I got. The final took me by surprise. There are no curves and no drops. The first exam was fluff, but the level of difficulty will change dramatically. Study edge is useless for this class. Best advice, study and read the book. He's not the best, but certainly not theworst
Very clear lectures! Very approachable in office hours. Show up for class, take notes, and the tests are very straightforward! Loved him!!
I took Calculus in high school so I did not find the material hard. Class is mandatory because there are clicker points. I went to class and didn't take notes, I only went for the participation points. If you have Study edge its extremely helpful.
I am not the best at math, but taking this class with Keeran made me feel as if I was. He made each concept extremely simple to understand. Be sure to do all of the homework prior to attending class and when studying, use the book! A lot of the test questions are similar to those in the book.
Dr. Keeran is the best! He actuall cares about his studentsand he's not a pretentious jerk like other upper level math professors are. He will help you with writting your proofs and he's not a grading Nazi.If your confused about any of the material, he's excellent during office hours.
Very clear and organized lectures. Enjoyed his humor and kept me interested during lectures. Very straight forward exams and not too bad if you pay attention and put a little time in.
The lectures can be somewhat boring but he makes the content very clear and easy. Tests aren't hard if you do the homework and many of the test questions are similar to the ones in the book. He kept the class very entertaining and interesting. Overall a great professor.
Straight forward professor, go to class and take notes. Definitely recommend getting a copy of the notes he uses from targetcopy. The class gets much harder as the class goes on, study hard for the final.
The BEST math teacher I have ever had. Lectures are super clear-- highly recommend buyingprinting his lecture notes before hand. Tests are very fair & similar to the practice ones he posts online. Go to class for the notes & clicker questions, do all the webassign, go to discussion and you're almost guaranteed an A with little effort.
I took one exam and I'm already incredibly flustered with how things have gone. He tests hard, but during lectures, he says things will be very easy. Plus, he doesn't offer a lot of extra credit, so it's hard. Coming from a student who loves and has high interest in Calculus, this class was made difficult by him.
Taking him this semester and he's upfront about how the class (starts easy, gradually gets harder). Haven't made it to all the classes and still do very well on exams, despite there usually being a conceptual question on an exam where he can try to trick you with his wording. Went to his office hours once and he's very inclined to help.
Keeran's lecture are a bit dull, but they are very clear and straightforward. He gives tons of opportunities to ask questions during lectures as well. He has super dry humor which I personally loved. The tests can be difficult if you don't properly prepare for them and really understand the definitions of the material. Overall Dr. Keeran is the man
Calc 3 is a relatively challenging subject but Keeran is really clear and answers questions well. The class is fair and he's got some of the greatest dad jokes I've ever heard. Seriously, worth taking for your chance to hear a dad joke in between trying and failing to understand vector fields.
Initially, I had a different view of how this class was. While it is still challenging to a degree, the course got better as the year went on, although the material got tougher. After the first exam, after gaining insight on proper studying methods for exams, things gradually improved, although still, one must make an active effort on hisher part.
tests are definitely fair
Dr. Keeran teaches very clearly and evenly-paced. I took Calculus 3 with him right out of high school and though testing was harder, I moved right into his lectures without skipping a beat. He teaches high level material using a high school-comparable method.
I was always good at Calc in high school, both in practice and conceptually. I took Calc 3 fall of freshman year and I thought it was easy to get an A, but conceptually Calc3 is a bit tough, and I didn't make an effort to understand it. Only cared about the A. Keeran was a good lecturer but I never went to class. Tests are easyfair.
Preparing for exams can be annoying. He is clear but the material gets tougher as the class goes on. taking it right after MAC 2312 helped. Study edge made a helped when i was preparing for exams and gave a lot of extra problems to do.
He is a really great professor. I always understood the professor in class but I never felt like I had enough examples to be able to pass the exams. I used study edge for extra practice and ended up with an A.
Great Prof, amazing lectures, clear and straightforward exam which test knowledge and not trick.
very standard calculus course, and you can get through without having to recall equations from older geometry courses
Really self-absorbed, very unhelpful, and extremely unaccommodating
Overall, great lecturer, frequently adds humor to make the class more interesting, but be sure to pay close attention to the concepts word-by-word since they will show up on exam MC+FR. Try to find extra resources (StudyEdge + past exams) since only one practice test and some supplemental book problems are given in weeks prior to exams.
He doesn't explain concepts very fully. Rather, he gives you the formula and explains the theory behind it quickly. Office hours are somewhat helpful, but I wish he would give more practice problems.
This was my first exposure to Calc. 3.I ONLY ever did recommended textbook problems & WebAssign & only used the lecture notes & got a solid A. Keeran was clear since day 1 about staying on track, so I did just that. This class is 50-50 on calculations and concepts, so study both. Calc. 3 is what it is, & Keeran did well in teaching the material.
Great teacher, keep up and you'll have no problem
so hard, so helpless, so disappointment
Keeran is the kind of teacher where you will need to do example problems over and over again. He does not truly go in depth in lectures rather he just gives the overall lesson but then moves on. You must go to class and keep up. I got through this class with Study Edge because of the endless problems they gave us.
I really did not like professor Keeran. He is nice but monotone and does not teach very well. His tests are very difficult and concept based. They are made to trick you which is frustrating.
One of the worst calc teachers at Uf. He's absolutely terrible. His tests are made to trick you and are very difficult. And stupid
Would rather play in traffic than take this class again
Keeran is a funny man and has a lot of knowledge on the subject. The class and test is hard, but if you study, do the practice problems, and have an extra source such as Study Edge to supplement the material, you should be fine. If you are having trouble understanding the lectures, I definitely recommend Study Edge.
Professor Keeran is very knowledgeable and explains the process needed to solve each problem in an understandable manner. For exams, pay special attention the concepts as they will be heavily tested on exams. He is by no means a bad professor and if you have good study habits and put reasonable effort into the homework, you will be fine.
Horrible. Condescending. I did not find him fair. Hard tests. Lightly touches upon topics.
He made calculus III harder than it needed to be. He forces his students to learn the theory and definition of calculus. Most of the exams were on the theory, almost 65%. As for his TA, he was condescending and rude. He did not respond to email. It took many trips to his office hrs for his peer to tell him to set a schedule.
Keeran is a good professor and I love his dry humour. Just keep up with homework assignments and do practice exams before exams and you should be fine. Everyone else who rated him as awful are just salty because they made the class harder for themselves.
GREAT Prof!! Lectures are super fast, so don't worry if you don't get it right away. Expect to work for an A, this is Calc 3, after all. I took notes on the book and made study guides for the exams and ended up with an A. He's super helpful during office hours, even if you ask vague questions about larger concepts. Love his dry humor. 10/10
The subject matter is not complicated but it's important to understand concepts if you want to pass. Study Edge is a great source for establishing the concepts as well as for computational review. Also, don't underestimate his multiple choice, one question can change letter graded significantly.
He gives hard tests. There is no dropping test grade which is why some people do bad (including me). I did good in 2 of the three exams. The final was my worse exam though but I didn't prepare for ir.
Be ready to work for an A. Exams make up 70% of your final grade and are very conceptual. He moves fast during class, so you have to stay on top of the material. Overall, he's a great professor.
if you do work youll pass 100%
I love his lectures. They're super clear and easy to follow. Sometimes he goes a little fast through the examples, but if you ask him to clarify anything he will. Take the homework seriously!! It can really bring your grade up if you do well on it.
You will do fine until his tests because he makes the tests unnecessarily difficult. Even the TA's say the tests aren't fair. He only posts one practice exam per test, doesn't even give the answers to the FRQs, and the practice test is deceivingly easy. Calc 3 is great, Keeran is not.
Dr. Keeran is a great professor and lecturer. He makes his expectations very clear from the very first day of class but prepares you very well for the exams. Exams can be tricky so beware, and the last 2 exams are considerably more difficult than the first 2. Overall a very enjoyable and doable class.
Don't do it . Don't do this to yourself. Wait another semester. His exams are so ridiculously tricky- this class has destroyed my self confidence. I am getting a borderline grade, but I would never take another class with this professor again.
Dont take him. He makes exams that contain unbelievably tricky conceptual details and gives almost no extra credit. He also developed an "I know everything and you don't" attitude right around the third exam. He also doesnt record lectures, so youre out of luck if you miss class. Calc 3 was supposed to be a GPA boost, but it bombed mine instead.
Keeran takes Calc 3 and makes it more difficult than it has to be. Be prepared to work for the grade you want. He only gives you one practice test and it's always much easier than the test you actually take. I would take someone else if you can
I didn't even have Keeran as a lecturer, he was just the main professor for calc 3. He puts multiple tricks into one question just to try and trick you. Overall if you study a lot, redo all webassign problems before exam, and use study edge you should be fine. Grading scale was confusing. Tests were hard.
Worst experience in a class ever. Calc 3 in and of itself isn't difficult, but Keeran makes it 1000% more difficult than it needs to be. The exams are VERY unfair and have absolutely nothing to do with the lecture notes or homework for the most part. The practice exams he posts are cake in comparison to the real thing. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Please look inward.
Just show up to lectures and do your homework and youll be fine
He is very straightforward and reasonable. The exams cover stuff that you actually learn in class; if you know the material, you should do well on the exams.
Keeran thoroughly explains all concepts and gives solid answers to even the most basic of questions. His exams stick to what has been taught and he will let you know specific concepts and problems that are important. As a bonus he is rather amusing too.
Keeran's lectures are helpful and relate to the homework assignments. However, sometimes he spends a little too much time on reasoning and theorems and they can show up on exams, but it doesn't always make sense. He gives a reasonable amount of homework and he's always open to answering your questions.
Keeran doesn't overcomplicate calculus and the exams were very easy. There is every discussion, but they are only two questions and they mimic examples from the lectures. He takes the time each class to crack a joke and makes math a little more interesting.
At first, I was worried Calc 1 would be too difficult since I had only taken Pre-Calc prior to coming to UF, but Dr. Keeran does a great job at teaching the material. He's fair in his exams (both multiple choice and free response), and he offers drops for some quizzes and attendance points so that was a plus. All in all, good Calculus 1 professor.
All you could ask for in a Calc 1 professor. Very reasonable in the amount of homework, exams aren't too hard (just watch out for his theory questions), and he drops points from homework, quizzes, and clicker questions. Show up, copy down the notes, and review them before the exams and you'll be fine
Exams are tough, make ups are tougher.
doesn't care about his students at all. would never sit through a lecture with this guy ever again
Keeran really cares about his class and his students. This class taught me a lot and you have to keep up with the class to get the best grade possible. Study well before each of the exams. Take all of the practices test that he gives you for each exam. I also highly recommend study edge. I wish I started this earlier in the course. Good luck!
Keeran is a great professor. He definitely knows the material and teaches it well. Expectations are VERY clear and the class is well organized. Exams matched the lecture notes. Do not waste your time with study edge. Studying the lectures will get you an A.
Keeran is honestly a good math professor. He knows what he's teaching and tries his best to get a lecture hall of 500+ students to understand an already hard subject. Study Edge is also a great supplement for this class as it gave me extra practice and clarified chapters that I was confused on. If you show up to class and learn you'll be fine.
He's a cool guy and makes his lectures concise. If you like math like me, this class is not a problem and should only take you no more than a couple hours a week of homework and studying. If you don't like math, than it is probably the class that that is going to be hard, not the teacher.
Keeran is a real simple guy who likes to make jokes. He truly does care about his students and tries his best to explain the math the best he can. Attendance is mandatory with clicker points and there is homework due every week but the class was very manageable and straightforward.
Lectures are great and concise. He is pretty funny and I loved his newspaper stories. There are a decent amount of clicker questions, so go to class. Go to class, do your homework, and do practice exams and you will pass. He is a really great professor, I would definitely take him again.
Keeran is a decent professor. There's no real ambiguity about how he grades and what he expects of you for exams. This class was very difficult for me because math isn't my strength, but I put in the extra work and I got through. Study the lecture notes and do the practice exams and and you'll do fine.
His tests are very fair. They are just like the lecture notes. I recommend buying the printed out lectures from target copy. It can be irritating because his exams test you on concepts more than math sometimes. He gives a lot of cushion to boost your grade so don't bother to ask him to round up because he will not.
This class is not that bad if you go to the lectures and actually pay attention, since his tests are basically based off of his lectures. I never did any of the additional homework aside from the webassign and I did fine.
I do not recommend Keeran. He is not very nice at all, and is demeaning to the students. Make sure you attend class, as the clicker questions are every class and you can only miss certain ones. Take someone else for calc if you have to take it.
His dry and sarcastic jokes definitely make the class more bearable. However, don't expect an easy A in this class. Do all the practice homework and memorize the theorems. He'll say don't but if you want to pass, you should.
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. He explained things making sure his students understood the concepts. His tests were not easy. He is not an easy A. However, his tests were fair. He always gave one or two bonus questions on his exams. Study his in class notes because he makes them test questions. Extremely fair grader.
Keeran is a great professor who makes sure you are going to class and doing your work. However, if you want to truly succeed in his class I would strongly recommend using Study Edge to heighten your performance. I used study edge and got an A in his class.
Keeran is a solid choice of a professor- fair exams, not a lot of homework, and pretty helpful all around. He stops lectures frequently to make sure students are following along and answers any questions that come up during class.
Keeran's a good and funny lecturer. However, exams are tough and will test heavily your high school math. If you are any type of nontraditional student who took high school many years ago, you need to review that stuff and be sure to do it quickly on exams, because it will appear in many questions even if it doesn't appear on lecture or homework.
He seems like he hates teaching and is always in a bad mood, but that might just be his personality because he is super sarcastic. He also kind of looks like the food critic from Ratatouille. He writes faster than I can think and is pretty bad at explaining most things. If you have taken calc before you're fine. If not, don't take his class.
Keeran is the best calc professor you will have access to, even though he is the toughest. He makes a big portion of the exam, so being in his class is being the main test maker. He's very funny and helpful during office hours. However, he is tough. So be prepared to work, but also enjoy his jokes.
Keeran is a great Calc 1 professor. He is much better than the other calc professors who teach a flipped classroom style calc. His tests are based off of his lecture notes so study them and do the homework and you can get an A. I highly recommend him, as he is the only calc 1 professor who does traditional lectures.
Dr. Keeran is tough, but fair. He's strict but has a dry sense of humor that makes class more bearable. The exams are tough but doable if you put the time in to study. I would pick Dr. Keeran over flipped-class for sure.
Easy class but there's a clicker question every lecture so attendance is kinda mandatory.
teaches like he hates his job and makes demeaning jokes towards students. hates study edge and purposely bought the packet to to make the tests completely different. whats worse is that the only resources he provides to students are the lecture notes he fills in during class and he many times messes up while filling them in
Probably one of the more boring professors you'll have, but I did like the way the class was set up. The workbook (which was about $20 from Target Copy) was very helpful in terms of following along in class and for studying. Some of the tests were more difficult than they needed to be. Overall not too bad.. The average grade was 82% for perspective
There is a clicker question like every class and it is a good percent of our grade. He made the concepts understandable and worked through the practice problems in class making sure we knew what he was doing. Very fair grading scale and the quizzes and hw help. Do not skip lectures! Homeworks were basically same thing on our quizzes so do all hw!
Keeran is horrible. Do not expect to learn anything in this class. He goes so fast that by the time you finish processing what he's saying, he's already two chapters ahead. I got placed into this class, not having taken Calculus before, but god forbid not having a calculus background. He just expects you to know everything and write what he does.
Definitely do not talk in lecture, he will call you out for it. Other than that he is a pretty solid calc prof, gives good notes and lectures, and he can be funny sometimes which lightens the mood of a difficult class.
Dr. Keeran is a good lecturer, but sometimes goes very fast. He may or may not be evil because you don't know your grade until the end of the semester. So your grade is a lovely surprise! Who doesn't love a surprise!! oh yeah and don't even bother sending him emails, he NEVER responded to any email I sent him. can be demeaning and rude duringclass
His lectures are pretty understandable and fun. His homework is relatively short and simple as well as his tests. My only problem with him is that his standard of what is obvious seems to shift a lot. I've lost points for not explaining stuff that in his own posted solutions is not explained. I lost count of how many times I've seen "why" already.
Solid lecturer. Sometimes he has some errors in his lectures so be careful of that or does not finish in time, but not often. Do not talk in class. There is also a good amount of work. Aside from that, he explains things decently well and is HILARIOUS when he brings in something from the Alligator Newspaper - awesome dry humor.
Would not recommend even tho many student are required to take him. I took ap calc in hs and did well, but i have no idea what this is. Homeworks do not help for the tests at all, many kids leave the tests crying or panicking, he doesnt offer much outside help, he wont drop the lowest grade and this is just for a gen ed.
Keeran was a very great teacher, however, his exams are VERY HARD and if you bomb one that's pretty much it for you. On my exams I got an 80, an 86, a 60 and on the final I got 100. That one bad exam everyone did quite bad on yet he does not curve. Even with that 100 my grade didn't even go up to a B+. I would definitely recommend using study edge.
He's a great professor who knows how to teach the material and keeps you engaged throughout the lecture. Overall works with you to make sure you know what you're doing.
Great lecturer. Personally, I did not attend class much but still received a 98% with high grades in every test. If you choose to skip class like I did then be prepared to watch the lectures online and study the homework.
Keeran explained the material in a way that made sense, and he frequently asked throughout lecture if any students had questions, which he did his best to answer. He is very clear with the class policies and grading from the beginning, so you know what you have got yourself into. His dry humor engages the class and gets students laughing.
Keeran literally could care less whether you pass or fail, and it seems to please him when people do badly in his class. His exams are impossible, and even if you study you might still fail simply because of the ridiculousness of his test questions. He cannot stand students, and will literally take points of your exams if you speak in lecture.
I had Keeran as my lecturer, but the head prof wrote exams and ran the class from Canvas. He was rude in class and sometimes very mean to students. He did sneak a couple of funny jokes in throughout the semester. However, he was always unprepared for lecture and messed up problems.
he frequently messes up problems in class and he goes too slow on the easy stuff and too fast on the hard stuff he also makes fun of the school newspaper The Alligator and while it's funny sometimes it's mean other times I basically had to learn the material on my own but I'm also not great at learning in lecture halls
I was hopeful that the positive reviews would be true. I was sadly mistaken. Professor Keeran would constantly make jokes like "Oh, I guess you'll get it right the next time you take my class." The exams are nothing like the HW and are extremely hard. I was a straight A student until I took this class and had to get a tutor to just barely pass.
Took calc in hs and still struggled in this class, even with study edge. Exams are very tough-were hard even though I thought I knew all the material/concepts well. Good lecturer and will answer any questions. tophat every class. no textbook. study past exams. don't talk in class-will take off exam points. do not know grade until after drop/add
Very straightforward, both in and out of lecture. Clear on expectations, but don't expect him to baby you -- this isn't high school. Sarcasm-heavy; I think he's a riot, others find him abrasive. Homework is essential to passing. Tests are easy if you do the homework. Teaches material by first reviewing basics and then building on them. Great dude.
One of the least caring math professors/teachers I have ever had. His exams are terribly difficult and only gives out one past exam to practice with, the homework does not relate to the exams, and he takes points off of your grade if you talk in the lecture. Hopefully, you get a decent TA to ask questions and to teach you the subject.
really great at what he does. I had him for calc 3 and didn't really need to use outside sources (textbook, study edge) to study because his notes and practice exams and homework practice were all that was really needed. He expects a lot out of his students but his lectures are great. tests are tricky (he literally tries to trick you)
The sass of this man. He was a pretty good lecturer, went fast enough to keep you from getting distracted but enough time to write everything down. He would take points of exams for students who talked during lecture, wanted to review their scantron, or took a makeup exam when they weren't supposed to. Sometimes snuck a few jokes into lecture.
It is a hard class and he is a tough professor so the work you do in the class matches the difficulty of it. Lectures are great due to explaining what you need to know in his notes but he is kind of strict and takes off points on your exam if you talk while he lectures. Not bad overall
Professor Keeran gets a pretty bad rap, but I think he deserves some credit for being a great lecturer. He was a bit personally abrasive during lecture, and has no issue calling students out for talking during his class. He is, however, a good lecturer who taught me a lot, even if he came across as a little lethargic sometimes.
The calc 3 series at UF is pretty standardized. I had him for lectures and he was great at answering student questions. His hitt questions are pretty easy. Plus he would always talk about the alligator!
One can tell that Dr. Keeran really knows the material and tries to help us learn it as best as he can. However, he expects respect from his students. The tests are fairly reasonable. He only gives one practice test to review, but constantly do the WebAssign homework problems and you will be fine.
Keeran is a pretty spicy fella, but if you can make it past the rough exterior, theres golden melty goodness inside. Dont expect him to bring you soup when youre sick, but he gives EC on every test and drops a bunch of quizzes/homework grades. Class was easy and doesnt require outside resources. Attendance sucks so take it online if possible.
Dr. Keeran is extremely knowledgeable, he makes calculus 3 seem easy. "Seem" being the operative word. Expect to understand everything in class and on the homework but get stumped on the test. He adds a ton of theory questions, not just computation ones, which are tricky. His office hours are a great resource, but expect to study for his exams.
It was really hard going from in-person to online classes this spring, and he didn't really make any concessions at all. If anything, I was working harder and getting less. I cheated on my last two exams and got a C and a D respectively. Something isn't adding up if I can't solve a problem while looking at my notes. WebAssign took so long to do.
Calc 3, while not the hardest subject in the world, should not be taken without care. Though you make want to take it without Keeran. The lectures barely ever made sense with other professors explaining concepts in ten minutes what took Keeran three lectures. Truly, the simple was made hard and the hard was poorly explained.
I heard a lot about Linear Algebra at UF and how hard it was, and i was frankly quite scared going into his class. It turned out to be the complete opposite. He really cares about his subject, his tests arent impossible if you go to class, and his office hours are a real gem. Take him if you can for MAS4105, you wont regret it, top professor.
Do not recommend. Maybe he would be a great lecturer if I took this class in person but I had to do it online and for the 1st 15 minutes of class he would go over the material that we are learning and he would do the simplest problems but on the test its so much more complicated. I would also say he comes off a bit rude.
It seemed the professor really knew the content but he is not the one doing the online lectures. So I wouldn't factor in his lecturing ability if you're looking to take this class. For the Fall 2020 semester, he wouldn't let us know our final grade until the end of the semester. And, he doesn't round up any grades, not even an 89.88.
A bit rude when replying to emails. Grades hard, dont recommend missing any exams because he grades the retakes not the TAs. The practice exams and reviews are much easier than the actual exams. When we get to class he spends at most 15 mins doing easier questions and then we go to break rooms w worksheets. 5 min quizzes every class, dont be late
Don't recommend if you didn't take Cal 1 in high school. Fall 2020 was online so he went over a few problems then sent you to breakout rooms to work on packets. A mini quiz every class so don't miss class! I wouldn't have passed without using study edge the entire semester. He's rude in his emails and truly treats the course as a "weed out class."
If you have the opportunity to not take his class do that. Keeran is probably the worst professor I have had at UF. He teaches material that you won't find on the exam.
He refused to let us see what our current grade in the class was as the semester went on, he said we could calculate it ourselves, but he wouldn't tell us which assignments get dropped so we never knew. His lectures are alright, but not great. In his class, passing is a 70% while the other MAC2311 professors only require a 67%. Don't take Keeran
Never curves anything, extremely tough grader on homeworks too.
Don't let the other reviews scare you away from taking Professor Keeran. In my honest opinion, he is a great teacher. He effectively explained the material and I never came out of class or went to the homework confused out of my mind. He tests what he teaches and his teaching pace is great. I highly recommend this teacher.
You'll learn how to write proofs to his liking or you will fail this class. His grading is brutal. There is no gray area/forgiveness. He will tell you not to worry about certain problems before a test and then load the test with those very problems. Decent lecturer, helpful in office hours. He will add points to your score but you have to show up.
In my opinion Professor Keeran is a great choice for students at UF. He is a really nice guy and even made an effort to learn everyone in my 100 person class names. There's a fair amount of homework but nothing too crazy. Professor Keeran is also very helpful in office hours.
Professor Keeran uses a flipped-classroom so you watch your lecture at home and do worksheets with partners in class. The video lectures aren't very good but he gives a brief summary in class which is extremely helpful.
Keeran is a pretty chill guy. He makes an effort to learn your name and help you with any questions. Doing well on the tests are really dependent on understanding the worksheets handed out in class. (if you don't finish them in class, I would go to the math tutoring center and work through the rest).
I had Professor Keeran for linear algebra and calc 1, and he is by far my favorite math professor. His lectures are very clear and concise with plenty examples. I would highly recommend taking any of his classes.
Nice guy, really good at explaining the material in a short time. Flexible for office hours, and the exams aren't terrible if you do the review worksheets and previous exams.
Took this class as a flip classroom. However, he would still give mini lectures that were useful to understanding concepts. If you have questions, he is able to explain well. Make sure to do previous exams.
I took the flipped version of this class but the professor does small recap lectures at the beginning of class which was helpful for reinforcing the material. I used Study Edge for the tests in this class; the tutors do a really great job at breaking down the topics so that you really understand it and know how to apply the knowledge.
Professor Keeran was frustrating. I was in a flipped classroom setting so we would watch lectures and then go into class for review and he would just give a worksheet and walk around. If someone asked for help, his explanations were minimal and he didn't provide a lot of practice exams. Attendance was mandatory and it wasn't even worth it.
Professor Keeran's class itself was not terribly difficult. It was a flipped classroom style class so mostly everything was completed at home. However, the time spent in class was mandatory and quite useless. He was super unpleasant and rude most of the time and always in a bad mood. Honestly don't recommend.
Look: Calc is going to be hard no matter who you get. Keeran might not have the best lectures (especially if you're in his flipped classes) but ultimately he's not that bad for calculus and together with the TA's they'll answer most if not all of your questions.
Keeran teaches a flipped classroom setting, and his brief lectures are perfect for if you had already taken calculus at high school. Very test heavy class so study, and Keeran himself can be funny at times
While Keeran is not the world's best Calc professor, he's not bad either. Keeran is a perfectly fine professor who cares about his students and the subject he is teaching. He may not be the most enthusiastic, but he is always available to answer questions, especially in his flipped environment.
Keeran is a solid lecturer and decent professor. His class (at least when I took it) was exam heavy, but the exams were similar enough to the homework problems that I felt prepared without having to study a whole bunch.
His class was flipped, so we would watch lectures beforehand (I didn't bc I already knew the material), then he would do a brief summary at the beginning of the period and we worked together in groups on worksheets. I didn't spend much time on this class. You need to know the material well for exams. Funny and helpful, but not always understanding.
I really like Dr. Keeran as a person. He's a very cool guy who's obviously smart and knows his stuff. His lectures at the start of class always greatly clarified the online lectures (flipped classroom). Calc 2 is what you make of it; redo worksheets, homeworks, and past exams a week before the midterms and you'll do fine.
Great one on one help provided during office
Very helpful during office hours. Not a hard professor if you put in the effort outside of class.
Very helpful during office hours, have to put in a lot of work outside of class to be successful
Keeran was honestly a really sweet professor and gave helpful feedback on proofs without just outright giving you the answer. The class itself is extremely difficult imo but Keeran really doesn't want to see you fail and will definitely help you out during office hours. The lectures can get a bit boring but they're vital to passing the class.
Keeran "teaches" by linking you to online video lectures of someone else teaching (which is very fast paced and hard to grasp) and doesn't really "teach" in class. Class time is used to work on problems about the lectures you were supposed to watch online. It requires a lot of self studying *every* week, so be prepared for a lot of work.
Best professor at UF in my opinion. He genuinely cares about his topic and his students. Was the class itself extremely difficult? Yes. And his grading scale (no A-) did not help. But he is definitely willing to help and is in general just a funny and sweet guy.
75% of grade is midterms and final exam rest is in class and discussion quizzes. No extra credit.
Overall I really like Dr. Keeran. He is patient and really helpful during office hours and class(he always walks around and will help you). If you put in the work in Calc 2 it really is not that bad but it does require effort. The flipped classroom holds you more accountable and I think it helped me so I still recommend taking him
Great lecturer and very knowledgeable. Friendly and funny guy. He keeps the class quiet during lectures which I love. He obviously cares a lot about students.
Dr. Keeran is overall a pretty good guy. He is funny and cares about his students. However, he doesn't do minus grade, and every other prof will give you a 2 point extra credit discussion board, except him. Also, he also didn't have the decently to respond to my email asking be be bumped 0.03% to a B+. Not the best, but not the worst.
Dr. Keeran is such an enjoyable lecturer for such a difficult class as linear algebra, cannot recommend him more. He's a tough grader on the homeworks but that just prepares you for the exams. Highly recommended.
A little bit of a grumpy goose, but an absolute legend. Dr. Keeran is hilarious and so easily annoyed by robocalls during class that it would be impossible not to like him. Tests are based heavily on recommended problems from the book. Do the recommended problems. He's willing to give hints on proofs and he takes your ideas seriously.
Professor Keeran has a unique teaching style, using a flipped classroom approach. While it takes some adjustment, his availability and willingness to help make the class manageable. Unstuck study ai proved a great study tool alongside the course materials.
Made the proofs way overly complicated than need be. Literally copies the proofs straight off the textbook and doesn't even condense it down during class. Nice guy but not good at teaching proofs or explaining the material in an accessible way. Better off just reading the textbook.
A tough grader when it comes to writing proofs but is not good at explaining proofs techniques and the proofs in linear algebra. He copies and reads off the textbook's proofs, which can be way overloaded with information. Does not simplify the proof in a way that is easy to understand. Lectures were him showing the proof on projector from the book
Keeran is so so good. Would definitely take diff eq with him again. So helpful in office hours and always wanting to help during class
There are a lot of assigned homeworks and a few collected homeworks, and those are very important for your understanding. Prof Keeran makes that very clear and as long as you do the practice problems, practice tests, and take his feedback on your proofs seriously then you should be able to pass. This is a difficult class so expect difficult work.
He was aight, just sometimes never finished lectures in class. Ended up just watching shabazz videos which arent the best. Overall though he isn't the worst, and taught well when he explained.
SO MUCH homework, but not Keeran's fault. As a department-controlled course, Keeran only controls how he lectures, and his lectures are easily the best of any MAP2302 professor. Explained all content clearly and with good examples, and was funny at times. Overall enjoyed his lectures, and looking forward to taking him again for MAS4105 this summer.
I loved having him as a professor! If you go to office hours prepared, he is awesome and really helpful. He can go pretty quick but he reviews and always takes questions. Tests are hard even if you do the recommended problems, but he's willing to help if you show effort. Hard class, but a great professor to take it with if you're willing to work.
Mr. Keeran is the GOAT for Differential Equations. I actually wanted to go to lecture because he taught us in the way he would want to be taught. He kept the lectures interesting and paced things appropriately. Really nice dude, very happy I took him for Diff Eq.
Can't say anything bad about the guy, not the most enthusiastic but he does cover all the required content. Lectures are paraphrasing and explaining the textbook, but I mean mostly all classes are like that. The "optional homework" is not all that optional, 2 or 3 of the questions in the exam are based on it. I learned this until the last exam.
Keeran is an excellent professor for linear algebra. I'm not sure why people say it took them a while to realize exams are based on hw problems….he pretty much emphasizes this from the first day of class. He is very strict on grading hw but exams are a bit more lenient. If you do all suggested hw problems and GO TO LECTURE this class is doable.
I will start by saying I'm not the best at math. Dr. Keeran is a nice teacher and is definitely very funny. However, if you lose focus for a minute, you will have missed 7 new concepts. His lectures are fast-paced, and he mostly just goes through examples. In my experience, the practice tests were nothing like the exams (exams were much harder).
PAY ATTENTION IN LECTURE!!! I cannot say this enough. Keeran gets a bad rap because professors like Streese are so good, but he's really not that bad. He's very helpful during office hours and funny with a dry sense of humor. The only problem with him is that he writes VERY fast during lecture. But pay attention and you'll be fine.
This guy honestly seems like he hates his job. He's clearly really good at math but does not know how to teach it. I'd stick to watching Shabazz's lecture videos at home on your own time as attendance is not mandatory.
Lectures are easy to understand and he's a pretty engaging guy. He gives you all the materials you need to pass.
Good professor overall. I did not find his lectures very useful, however he posts another professor's lectures which are more helpful. Homework and homework quizzes do not affect your grade too much and you can retry them as much as you would like. He also posts previous semester tests which are great to study off of. Grade depends on tests.
Dr. Keeran is a great math professor. His lectures are great! They are fast-paced, so if you can't do a fast-paced math, then watch the lecture videos online. Speaking of which, he gives great resources on Canvas. Tests aren't terrible. Study, practice, go to lecture, and you'll do great.
He was nice but his lectures were very memorize heavy - you don't really learn the concepts very well and instead memorize ways to solve the various problems. The tests are very easy with practice tests posted that are exactly like the real thing, but I feel like I forgot everything already. Take if you want an easy class, not if you want to learn
I took him for Calc 1, he was good at explaining things if you can keep up with a quick pace. There are past lectures posted that are useful if you miss a lecture or didn't quite understand it. He has a plethora of past exams to study that are great for the real exam. But there are very frequent quizzes and lots of weekly to daily homework.
Don't listen to everybody else, for calc 3 just show up to the lectures and listen and you will be fine. The concepts are pretty easy and the tests are on material that was covered in class. He is a good teacher that shows you derivation and takes his time to explain.
Very smart man but goes so fast, he also teaches Calc 3 and moves at that speed. I was never too good at calculus so I did not enjoy his teaching style.
He explains everything really well, and he moves pretty fast through the material.
Professor Keeran is a very funny man. During his lectures, he writes every step, which is very helpful, and not many professors do that.
Kind of a hard class, make sure to study a LOT for tests but he does give a lot of review material and in lecture he is pretty good. Kind of depends on your TA and how hard your quizzes are.
Keeran is honestly not bad. His explanations are confusing at times, but you can just watch Shabazz's lectures for those topics. Study, do practice exams, and show up to lecture, and you'll be fine. He goes quick, so be prepared for that. Super funny guy, too.
Great professor. Don't skip lectures they are very important.
Great teaching style. Goes through material fast and yet explains every step of the processes. Would definitely take the class again.
I was originally weary of taking Keeran after reading his reviews, but I truly enjoyed his course. He goes quickly through lectures, but explains material well. Weekly quizzes depend on TA. I highly recommend Study Edge for the class! It helped me with practice problems and a more in-depth understanding that we didn't have time to cover in class.
Most of the content was introduced in the lectures, and then you would take a quiz in discussion. The difficulty of the quiz depends on the TA you get, but it's really just two questions and isn't that hard. The tests were what determined your whole grade, basically. Four tests, the final is cumulative, but it wasn't the hardest test that we took.
Doesn't know how to teach. Avoid taking him at all costs. Dropped him within a week and took the class with the goat Dr. John Streese. If you not going to lectures and your confident in your math abilities then it's fine cuz there's a lil bit of extra credit and the his homework is easier than the other profs.
Great professor! Lectures were worded in a way that made very conceptual material manageable and easier to understand although the fourth module was pretty rough.
Lectures/Online recordings are hard to understand and they skip material. The associated "textbook" and yt videos carried. Doing the HW, lecture quizzes, and practice tests were more than enough to do great on exams. Low time commitment but probably not the best content quality.
He seemed very tired during the midday lecture. His lectures did not prepare you for the tests as Dr. Shabazz's lecture recordings do. He gets caught up on simple arithmetic and would be better off just showing problem setup like the other calc 3 professors at UF. Very strict, not engaging, and I found the online lectures more valuable. Homework!
I was nervous about taking this class my first semester without MAC2312, but Dr. Keeran is a great lecturer with a good sense of humor. While the course had online lectures, he's very good at comprehensively deriving formulas/pictures rather than memorizing them. The exams aren't his, but are also very straightforward. Great professor.
Willard was one of the best proof teachers I have ever taken. I did not fully understand proofs until taking his course. If you pay attention in lecture, go to his office hours, and break down proofs/theorems given in the textbook you can pass this class with an A.
