LOL oh god I start laughing just when I think of him very very very funny guy. A nice break from all the boring teachers. Explains stuff nicely but tests are kinda hard. I got B on every test no matter hard I studied... Very knowledgable guy.

very funny guy!!!!! hands out lecture notes so u don't have to write. notes r very detailed and helpful. tells u EXACTLY what is going to be on the exam. NO ESSAY!!!! VERY understanding. really entertaining guy!

Most engaging teacher at Kwantlen. Always willing to help you understand the material (catch him for a cigarette!) Passionate and very knowledgeable. Experience his class if you know what's good for you.

Barthelemy is an absolutely great teacher! He has a huge passion for what he teaches and he makes the material interesting. He doesn't mark excessively hard and he is very approachable. Extra marks if you know your movies:)

If i had this man in high school, i'd have been set! He's a very nice guy and his marking isn't too hard either. He tends to stray off topic and start talking movies, but it is definitely worth taking his classes.

He is a good and easy teacher. His tests are straight forward, from the handouts and there are alot of options for the essays. He explains things well, phil is confusing but he makes it interesting.

says so many interesting things..i would recommend his class...10% of the mark is participation, so its easy to do well if you try!

Bill is without hesitation the smartest guy you will ever meet. He is very funny and encourages creative answers to philosphical questions. In my life I've probably had 50 teachers, Bill is in the top 3.

See the 3 previous comments, I couldn't have said it better! I passed with a B+ and the class wasn't too hard. He's nice & funny, and very flexible. From my experience, those who dropped out (and thus gave 1,1,1 ratings) were unwilling to learn.

He's funny and nice. He encourages learning and seems to enjoy teaching very much. The course is quite hard, but challenge is good! I passed the course with confidence that I can take another Philosophy course with ease.

Took him last semester, great guy, very engaging and funny. He really knows his stuff and he's open-minded, so you can really have a good, open dialogue with him. Only got a C+ in the course, but if I wasn't worried about my GPA, I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Bill is a very flexible and adaptible kind of teacher. He does what he needs to do in philosophy and when he marks tests, he is reasonable. Very articulate and you learn so much beyond the course because he goes on so many tangents. Interesting class that way (to learn about venomous snakes) etc.

kind, nice and knowledgable~! from baseball to politics ... u could learn so much just talking to him during smoke breaks ... a fountain of knowledge~! has time for every student and will spend time explaining every single detail... a MUST TAKE!

Here's the scoop: No homework... No notes... No quizzes... just a final and 2 midterms (from which he only takes the best of the 2 marks) Despite the light workload, you will learn more in his class than any other class you have taken AND you will actually be entertained while listening to him.

Class setup 3tests, 1st test can be used for 2nd test mark, no required readings.. I however found the class hard to follow, his teaching style is all lecture and handouts and i found myself lost without a textbook to use sad as it may sound.

Nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Fair tests(?)<-with short answer questions which are needed to explain 'math' in words... fair marker tho. But the way he teachs is not clear enough so really doesn't worth to take the risk... (this is the course which pulls down my GPA to a great extent!! grrrrrr)

Very interesting prof! Probably one of the best phil profs out there. Course consists of 2 mid-terms (he takes the best mark out of the two and doubles it, throwing away the worst mark of the two) and a final. Lectures really draw you in.

An extrodinary professor, he has a great personality. Like others say, he takes the better mid-term and doubles it, which makes him super kind. However, do take both mid-terms severiously, because they afftect your final.

Bill is a good teacher, he's very informative and even takes the time to go in depth until the class understands. His tests (2 exams of which he counts the highest, and a final) are not hard. It also helps if you watch alot of movies cause he uses them as a example. He's helpful and there if you need help. And i swear he sounds like James Garner.

Bill is an awesome prof!!! his lectures are interesting and his tests are fair. he'll gladly help you and loves answering questions. he sometimes rambles on (and he admits he does) but regardless he is one of the best profs i've had. highly recomend him!

He's a really fair teacher. You don't need to go to every class if you have a reliable person who sits beside you, who takes decent notes.The midterms and final were predicatble. Mind you his voice makes you wanna fall asleep.

Shows examples clearly, and is nice

He is an okay teacher but all he does is just yap in the class. i mean it would be nicer if he gave us more notes to learn. the area of study is not hard but rather boring so it is not his fault if no one enjoys the class. he does everything to make the class fun and easier. he is helpful and a very easy going personality. take him for Philosophy.

Class was easy and the tests were fair. Bill ensures you are prepared for anything he makes you do. Extremely interesting man with many great stories to tell. Overall good class and great teacher.

Course is 2 midterms (he takes the higher of the two which is awesome) and a final (which is basically just the two finals put together). Treat this class like a lecture. Some love that kind of teaching style and others hate it. If you find yourself to be one of the people that hate it, reading the book will be helpful. Interesting guy too.

Bill is hands down the BEST instructor at Kwantlen. You would be a fool not to take him if you are taking philosophy. I am in the business program and I want to use all of my electives for his class. He is extremely fair, his rants in class are funny, yet interesting, he loves discussion, you don't need the textbook, but should attend all classes.

Bill is awesome! He knows that the business students are just there to get the credit so he takes it easy on us. He only has 2 exams and a paper, for the exams he takes the best one only . Very nice guy and EASY!

Take him! Bill is the best,we only had 1 exam and 1 presentation. For the midterm he gave us the questions before hand, just stuyd those exact questions and he will allow you to write on any 4. The presentation is very easy,just be able to defend it,seriously he is a generous marker and very nice guy! Got A+ in his class!GPA Booster!

I love this guy! Hilarious. Terrified to take philo at 1st, but made the class so interesting. And his stories, WoW! Exams are based on lectures, but if you can't attend lectures, study the textbook. i was worried about taking phil at first, but bill made it awesome. he gives real life examples, goes over the notes with you, and his tests are not hard at all. if you study, the questions that appear on the test will not be a shocker. 3 tests, but if you do well on the first one the second one is opitional. also a sports guy!!

OK,no emotional gushing one way or the other...just the facts. Bill's class was the kind I had hoped to find in University: challenging, mind-expanding, relevant and thought-provoking. Listen to what he has to say, think about it and then enjoy life with your new and improved perspective(s). Stop worrying about grades and learn!

Great/smart guy. Very knowledgeable. Class was fun for what the subject matter is (ethics). Pretty sure he is thinking about retirement more frequently as he definitely comes off apathetic about teaching at times. Great guy non the less.

PHIL 1150 it self is confusing. Bill is very helpful. He answers your questions even through e-mail. Phil 1150 is like basic Math, but using words. He gave a take- home midterm that can be done with a partner and would really help boost your grade.

Reading through some of these comments have made me confused. Bill is awesome. As a philosophy major Im telling you that Bill is as good as it gets. He gave us a midterm, a paper and a final exam. We got to choose the mark btwn our midterm and paper and double it. I only had to write the final basically. Super easy - take his class if you can

Bill is awesome! He is very knowledgeable in all kinds of areas. No homework, no quizzes and no assignments. Exams are easy if you study and do the questions in the textbook. This course is similar to a math course except there are no calculation involved but using logic sense. Course itself is very confusing but if you get it you will do great.

Listen, kids. He's amazing. I love the guy. Take his course. But don;t be surprised when he cancels class out of nowhere and you're standing in front of class with a cold french vanilla wondering where you went wrong. Shoutout to Socrates

Bill is the man. Final and essay are optional and they can only raise your grade. He presents interesting examples in his lectures and engages the class. Short lectures and is very entertaining. Take his philosphy class!

Bill was great. All around good guy. One of the best profs I've ever had in my life. He can be a bit boring but he's a damn good teacher
