This guy is a very helpful professor, to say the least! If you cannot get an A in this class, there is something wrong with your brain. TAKE HIM!!!
Prof. Brown is knowledgeable in many things which makes the class discussions very interesting. Other than that-it's an easy class to pass if assignments are turned in. =]
I love Mr. Brown! I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He is one of the best prof I've had in a while. He tries to get you to think a little differently about the world and your actions. His class is VERY easy, but VERY interesting!! Go to class and participate, you will make an A and you will enjoy every minute of it!
Great class, great teacher. Everything is given to you, all you need to do is study, and read. Really changes how you think!
Took Logic course online in the Spring of 2011. Following the required assignments lands you with a nice grade on the tests and with good understanding of the subject. The videos for each section are helpful. Teacher is a joy to work with. There was an extra credit essay which was ok. If you work you should get the grade.
Prof. Brown Intro to ethics was just the class I needed. I was taking a math course over the summer so I wanted to take something simple on the side. Didnt need the book, he printed and let us use all notes on the test. He couldnt have made it any easier. And the cherry on top is this class is rather interesting. TAKE HIM!
Mr. Brown was one of the coolest professors iv had. I took his Intro to Ethics class and it was awesome! Super easy. He hands out his own notes and lets you use them on the tests. His lectures were also pretty entertaining. His class is almost impossible to fail. So long as you show up for class and participate occasionally you'll get an A!
If you are looking to build a deeper understanding of philosophy, this is not the class for you. Overviews are simple and his explanations are primarily anecdotes with weak connections to the subject matter. He talks often of his personal beliefs. I left the class with hysterical stories about religious explanations for the beginning of the world.
This professor is great! I took this class online during the mini-mester and only had to spend less than an hour per day on coursework. Definitely watch the lecture videos and keep the outlines handy during quizzes! Textbook is needed.
Prof Brown is probably the best online teacher I have ever had. He uploads lecture videos to Angel!! Who does that??! They're pretty interesting most of the time, and his assignments are very straight-forward. I'm glad I took his class, and I recommend taking him online. I go to Cy-Fair, and I have heard many horror stories of PHIL teachers there.
Awesome Professor quizzes are kind of.... um... off. You really have to think about it, but i guess that's the point. If you read the chapters and take a couple notes then it's an EASY A! Don't think about it take his class if it's open... i hear his classes fill up fast.
Awesome professor. Taking his online class now and he is so easy going and his work is not too hard. Its a mini semester class and its not hard one bit LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM
Great class, very intresting if you like how ethics got its origins! Follow his outlines, read the book, watch his videos, tests & final are on-line. He gives a fair amout of time for each test & for course work. Highly recommended professor.
I took this class online over the summer in a minimester. Seriously the easiest class I have ever taken, including kindergarten classes. His lectures he posts online are about 15 minutes long and you dont have to watch them, but he's adorable. Looks just like Mr. Feeney. If you can take this class, DO IT.
Prof. Brown was very helpful with his videos and study guides. Gave you what you needed to understand and pass the class. I recommend him.
AWESOME CLASS. MATERIAL IS INTERESTING AND SUPER EASY. REALLY EASY CLASS. NEED TO GET THE BOOK TO COMPLETE QUIZZES. he makes class interesting w/ videos vs. using power point slides
I cannot say enough GOOD about this professor. I am currently in his online class and it couldn't be any easier. Watch his online lectures and take a quiz. 1 Chapter evry 2 weeks. Easiest class ever!!!
Awesome class! Took him for a 3wk minimester over Christmas break. Gives outlines and video lectures to help you through. Pretty easy class and definitely manageable for the full time worker. I spent about an hour a day on work. Easiest class I've had, but definitely learned a lot. Great professor! You wont' regret taking him, I'd swear on it!
If you follow the syllabus and his instructions, this is an easy A.
OMG seriously the easiest class ever.video lectures followed by quizzes, discussions and Final,he also offers extra credit. Got an A
He is a great teacher! He gives outlines for each chapter and very helpful video lectures. He responds to emails quickly and is very clear in what he expects from his students!
Seriously an easy class! Took his online course, watch lectures online, most of which are very short. Quiz each week (10 multiple choice questions), weekly discussions and 3 mini essays which are simply stating your opinion on a specific topic. Offers extra credit. Easy A, highly recommend this class.
This is a super easy class, I don't know about in class, but I did mine online. He gives extra credit, essays are your opinions and discussions are your opinion too. Got an A and I din't even buy the textbook. I would definitely recommend him
EASY.. Brown does great on his online lectures. great little book too. interesting and makes you really think about things...gave 2 weeks between assignments/ quizzes, so it is great for those with a BUSY schedule. Easy A..
I will recommend him for anyone out there! missed his week one extra credit and managed an A. Just listen to his recorded lecture and that's his exam!
Easy breezy beautiful! I took the class online but given the chance to take him again, I"d go in class just to discuss topics with him. His videos are precise and thorough and points out only what you need to know.
Easy breezy! Took this class online along with second semester nursing courses. Minimal time spent on assignments and quizzes and managed an A. All the answers and info come from the book, quizzes are open book. Perfect class for an easy A!
This was a very easy and informative class. He posts recorded lectures for you to listen to, along with chapter outlines and they are extremely helpful with the quizzes. Grades are based off of discussions, quizzes, short opinion essays and a final. I would recommend taking his class.
Great Class!!
This was probably one of the easiest classes I've ever taken! During the summer! He responds quickly and is very informative. Everything is off the book and his chapter reviews. Just stay on track and your good to go!
Great & EASY class. A must take! He grades easy. took him online but would recommend taking in person if possible. Just make sure to participate :). I dont recommend buying the book, though it is needed for the "food for thought section". I would just askemail another student who has the book for the work of that section. Overall, a must take.
Professor Brown is very helpful, he uploads videos lectures of himself which are usually no more than 15 minutes long. 4 easy "exams" which are really short answer essays. A discussion & quiz over each chapter. Then the final. Very easy class! Took while taking 15 other hours at SHSU while working full time too.
He is very clear on what to expect. He has videos for every chapter that break it down for you and follow his notes. The answers for the quiz are in your notes and sometimes the book. He is very clear and helps you understand the chapter better. He does offer 2 extra credit assignments. He also replies to emails in a timely manner and is very nice!
I love Professor Brown! He made this course as easy as possible for me to understand. He's very clear on assignments and tests. His study guides are the same as whats required in the courseworktests; he doesn't word answers differently to confuse you. He gave online lectures which gave me a great understanding. Everything was clear cut with him!
What a great instructor! He teaches Philosophy, but has a background in Science, which is awesome! He lectures by video and provides an outline to follow. Discussion posts come from the book, so you have to get it for that reason. He gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit and it is simple to get the credit! I would love to take another class!
I love having him as my teacher, he post videos, i will not lie i did not watch any of them and i passed his class with a B, you will use your book but when you realize when you will use it you will laugh. Everyone should take him, i was nervous at first but it was easy and you don't even realize how much you are learning.
Took this class online super easy. He has video lectures which are great and understanding. Very organized, and updates all grades on time. Quizes are TrueFalse, 1 Final Exam which is TrueFalse, also timed essay's just listen to the lecture and you will be fine. Book helps. Gives extra credit. Just stay on top of your assignments.
I love the video-lectures, he has fun making them. He is very clear and tests are sort of easy. I found out that this class was not a requirement for my associate, but I believe its a requirement for my life. I'm glad I took Mr. Brown's class. Thanks
Professor Brown was simply amazing! Took him online, seems like a very nice guy, and he is very clear on what he expects, not to mention what he expects is easy! Wish there were more professors like him! Easy A, anyone can take this class and pass. Highly recommend!
GREAT ONLINE CLASS! Video lectures 15-25 min for each section. Assignments: 10 question timed quiz (if you watch the lecture and look at the book, you'll do fine), discussion post and 2 replies, or 20 minute timed "essay" response. Sometimes all 3 assignments per section, sometimes just 1. Promptly replies to emails. So happy I took this class.
He is a great professor. Lectures are clear, easy A. I totally recommend him.
Great Professor. He is well organized which makes things much easier for a student taking him online. I took his class online, so I really benefited from the lecture videos, you really don't have to watch them because his chapter outlines will give you everything you need to pass the quizzes. And he is very prompt in returning grades and email.
There's no tests, and you can use the outline on the TrueFalse quizzes, which are word-for-word. Essays are based on personal experience. I never opened the book. Easiest A ever, but I have no idea what I learned haha. He looks like Mr. Feeny with a Texan accent. What more could you ask for?
I took Dr. Browns intro to ethics online while I was taking several in-class classes and doing an internship. I found the class easy to manage as long as you kept up with his syllabus. Generally one assignment due a week.
AWESOME professor!! Took this online and got an A. Easy A if you do extra credit, watch his lectures (they are very interesting) and read the short chapter each week. Loved this class!! Would highly recommend taking his philosophy course. Has recorded lectures and lecture notes for you to download. Absolutely recommend his class!
I took Dr. Brown for a 6- week summer session online and he is a great professor! He has outlines for every chapter which you can use on your quizzes and he has lecture videos you can watch with each chapter that are really cool. His grading is very fair, (do the work and you'll get a 100) and he makes the class interesting.
I took his online summer class. Pre-recorded lectures, reading, quiz for each chapter (8), and an occassional essay (4). The quiz are truefalse and the essay is 20 minutes timed - VERY EASY! Final is 25 TF questions and another essay. EASIEST, BEST, MOST ORGANIZED ONLINE CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN!!!
BEST professor. Clear schedule, grades fast and on time. Very interesting class.
I would take another one of his classes in a heartbeat. He lets you know up front what his expectations are maps it all out for you from the get go. This class is a very easy A as long as you do the required reading and discussion which don't take all that long. Expect a quiz about each chapter that are straight from the notes he gives .
This Is a good option if you have a busy schedule / life. Read the chapters and enjoy the class.
Retook with him and SO glad I did. More about philosophy than learning about philosophers, which my other class was. Online lectures, T/F quizzes, discussion posts and essays. The essays are really just short, personal paragraphs. Easy to succeed in, he gives good feedback and very interesting. Would take again in a heartbeat. Easy A minimester.
TAKE HIM! EASY! VERY organized. Each week has a 10-15 question quiz right from the lecture, word for word. TAKE NOTES while watching. Weekly Discussion posts. A few "Essays", just timed writing (that sounds harder than it really is). Use examples from book and personal connection. Tests were exactly from the book and lectures. DO THE EASY WORK!
Phenomenal professor and passionate in philosophy. I would take again gives extra credit read book, do HW and listen to lectures you will pass I got an A! He gives extra credit and review lectures timed exams.
Book is a must have. Given two weeks to do 30 mins worth of assignments. Quiz answers can be found online. Extremely easy to take online. Gives extra credit. Definitely recommend professor and class.
EASY A! No papers, a quiz and discussion every week. Quizzes are straight from lecture notes. Sometimes there is a weekly essay, but it is really easy. Everything is timed, but it's so easy you don't need to worry about it. Cumulative final, but everything is from the quizzes and lecture notes. Didn't even pick up the book and passed with an A+.
easy class, received an A.u have 10 quizzes comes straight from the notes word to word T/F(print the notes). 10 discussion, 5 essays timed 20 min use book or google it . gives 2 extra credits quizzes do them no wrong answers T/F . Final exam quiz 25q and essay. print all the previous notes also take pics of the quizzes for finalexam before submit
This professor was awesome and every assignment was interesting. Most of the grading was based on discussions and true/false quizzes. His lectures were very clear and very helpful, I would definitely recommend this class and especially this professor!
Very nice teacher. 10 quizzes (10 T/F ?s) 10 discussions (you write your opinion and then respond to 2 other students agreeing or disagreeing) 4 essays (answer question & include a real life experience, easy) 2 extra credits (they're quizzes, but no matter what grade you get you still get the 25 extra points) Final Exam (25 T/F and an essay)
Alot of people have already mentioned how Professor Brown's online class is structured, but I would like to add that his online recorded lectures are awesome. They are interesting and funny, he has a mellow nature. Lectures are 15 minutes max with provided notes. Weekly class time was 2 hours. Perfect class to match with a busy schedule.
10 discussions. 10 quizzes. 4 essays. 1 final exam & essay. 3 extra credit opportunities - you'd be a fool not to take advantage. He's absolutely adorable and his lectures were fun and entertaining to watch. Textbook is only needed for the discussions. Give him at least 1.5-2 hours per week and you'll def get everything done AND pass with an A.
Professor Brown is the best professor I have ever had. He is super nice and understanding, and his class is so easy. If you pay attention to his lectures, put a tiny bit of effort into the work, and do the two extra credit quizes you should make a 100 in the class.
There are a lot assignments, but they're really easy! Just be ready do to 2-3 assignments every 4 days. There are quizzes (answers come from notes and quizlet), essays about personal experiences, and then discussions. You NEED the book. Without the book you can't do the discussions. No tests except for the final. Overall really easy!! Take him!
BEST professor ever !!! super easy and has excellent lectures. easy A !!! just stay on top of your things and you'll get a 100 !!!
Cute little old man! Looks just like Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World! He really knows his stuff and clearly enjoys the subject. The class is structured very well. Assignments are clear, simple and require the textbook. Just get your stuff in on time and you will do great.
He was a very knowledgeable professor. Clear grading criteria and was quick to have grades back to you. There are two chances for extra credit that are easy, so do the easy work. His video lectures are good and so much better than just having to figure it out on your own. He provides handouts for his lectures that help a lot during your quizzes.
Mr. Brown was a great teacher. Every week or 2 weeks their is a discussion, 10 question quiz, and or a short paragraph essay. The book was used for the discussion questions as you usually got to pick out of a lists of questions. Just do your work on time and the class is no problem. I recieved a 98 and would definitely take him again.
Great Great Great class. Offers MAD credit. I had five zeros, and still managed to make an A in the class. NO TEST ONLY 1 FINAL. WHICH IS SO EASY. quizes can be found online. discussions are based out of the book which is the only thing you need to read from it. essays are perosonal experiences, as well as the essay for the final. EASY EASY EASY A!
I took a 12-week class as a filler class to help boost my GPA. Read 15 pages a week. True/False quizzes with answers to quiz online or textbook. You have weekly discussions. 4 major essays based off your personal experience. Final is 30 T/F questions and one 30 minute essay. 2 extra credit opportunities. Class really is based off your own opinion.
This is one of the easiest A's I have made and I took this course online during the winter minimester (3 weeks). NEED the book for the discussions. Easy quizzes and final answers found on quizlet. He is extremely clear and cares about student's success.
Easiest A ever!!! Professor Brown's online course is so organized. He gives extra credit at the beginning and end of the course just by completing some quizzes. His final exam is easy. Impossible not to get an A
I'm not even done with this class and I felt the need to share how awesome this class is. There's no heavy workload at all and you have PLENTY of time to finish your work. I'm taking this class as a 16 wk course but could have easily taken it as a 3 or 6 week course. Take HIM! This class is by far the easiest and no stress at all.
One of the absolute easiest classes I have ever taken. He cares so much about his students success. His online course is super organized, and you have plenty of time to get the work done. Most of the class is based off of your opinion and 10 t/f question quizzes. Quick with grades. Book only used for discussion.
Professor Brown is awesome, his online class is clear and easy to manage if you keep up with the assignments. Essays are cool, was my favorite part of the class surprisingly. Take him!! You won't regret it!
Took it online and it's a great class, quizzes available online, discussions out of book and your own opinion, good low stress class, don't have to go to testing centers. The class opens week by week so you can't get ahead but you probably won't fall behind. He gives plenty of time and offers extra credit that's just completion. Take it, easy A
I love this professor. He is the best. Your opinion matters but make sure you give life experiences while writing your essay or else you won't get full credit. Never regret taking him. He is clear, organized and precise. I took him for only six wks and I didn't have any stress. Take him
Prof Brown was a real gem! He gives a clear grading criteria, and as long as you follow instructions, you'll receive full credit for the assignment. Quizzes are easy and you can use your notes. He gives 2 extra credit, one at the beginning and one at the end of the semester (you get all points just for completing). Easy A, just follow directions
GREAT online class. Everything is on D2L at the beginning of the semester divided by what will be due each week. Each week was a easy opinion discussion, 10 question quiz, and sometimes an essay. Follow instructions & get full credit. No tests, only a final at the end. NO PAPERS to write. and he posts his lectures!! Offers 5% extra credit
Really great online class. Extremely clear cut on his grading and what he expects. He gives outlines that you can print for the lectures. No papers just short essays that take maybe 15 minutes, several short quizzes, discussions, and a simple final. He gives extra credit in case you miss a deadline or don't do well on a quiz.
Professor Brown is a real gem! He is really passionate about Philosophy, video lectures are included in every unit. Winter mini- Ten quizzes (T/F) 4 timed essays , 10 discussions, and a final also T/F with essay, plus extra credit opportunities. Follow the guidelines in the syllabus and you will be fine, easy A. Textbook is required.
Mr. Brown was an amazing teacher. I did not have any troubles over the workload he gave. I took him for a 3 week mini semester class and got an A+!! I would definitely take him again! The class consisted of t/f quizzes, discussions, 4 essays, t/f final exam with an essay well. Follow his instructions on the syllabus and you will get a good grade!
Professor Brown is terrific! I am a senior citizen who has recently gone back to school. This is my first ever Philosophy course, and I absolutely loved this course. Would definitely taken this Professor again, if the opportunity aroused.
Overall this course was easy. The discussions came straight from the book. The tests were easy the essays were graded a little tougher make sure you write a detailed personal experience. The lectures and what the class teaches is in my opinion a whole bunch of jibberish but I managed to get by without listening to it. Take him its easy!!
He is such a caring professor, I took his online class and made an A! Gives extra credit, and he records himself doing his lectures. I recommend for anyone who needs Phil. EASY A!!!!
I took this class online and it was very easy. He has quizzes that consist of true or false and you can find them all on quizlet. The discussions require you to post first to be able to see everyone discussions. The essays are timed like a quiz but fairly easy, he asks one question and gives you 20 min to answer it and give a real life experience.
this class was easy! I took online for summer 1 and its based on chapters. the workload was not overbearing at all. only 4 "written essays" about 12 discussions and 12 quizzes. You do need the book for most discussions. Quizlet really helped in this class.
This professor was easy to follow. Very Easy course and very interesting. He was quick to grade things and there was plenty of opportunity to complete extra credit. Easy A!
If you're looking for a Philosophy teacher stop looking!!! Professor Brown is amazing!!!!! I took his summer mini-mester and it was a breeze! He is very organized to the point where you know what to do everyday. He gives plenty of chances to get extra credit. Clear grading and has lectures recorded to listen to. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! TAKE HIM!!!
This professor is the best. He doesn't overload you with work , do your work and turn it in on time. One discussion a week with two replies. One quiz a week. If you are worried about taking this class this professor is remarkable.
I recommend this class to anyone that is starting college or an online course also to anyone that needs a boost to their GPA. He sticks to the syllabus so there will be no surprises. For the most part, work is due every other week. Dedicate at least 1 to 2 hours on his assignments a week and make quizlet your best friend and you will get an A+!
Took online mini mester very doable! Easy A if you do the work. He is super organized and very clear on what is to be done. 4 short answer essays about 12 discussions w/2 responses and 12 quizzes (quizlet helped!) You do need the book for most discussions. Extra credit just for attempting the assignments. Take him, you wont regret it.
A very easy class as long as you don't miss any due dates as his grading system is very organized and fair from the get go.
This has by far been my favorite class at lonestar!! Prof uploads videos of himself giving lectures which allows for more personal approach! He is a quick grader! This class will cause you to use your brain! about 10 discussion post, 2 replies, T/F test and final.. Recommend Prof William to everyone! Extra credit is available
The course is easy; however, the processor is nasty at communicating with others. If you can avoid reaching out to him you will be great in this class and receive an easy A. If for any reason you do have to correspond with him, he's very direct, impatient, have outbursts of attitude that is rather distasteful of a professor.
I just took this class over a 6 week summer course and I loved it! Prof. Brown is awesome at what he does. He uploads lecture videos which makes it more interesting. There is a quiz and discussion post due every week, but nothing too hard. Final exam consists of 25 T/F and 1 essay. Would highly recommend taking him!
Awesome teacher, awesome class. I took him fully online and it was a very easy class. His lectures were never more than 20 minutes. You absolutely need the book in order to participate in discussions. He really cares and really wants you to pass. Tale notes during lectures for the quizzes. Final 25 true or false questions and an essay.
Really enjoyed this class! Super clear and organized. He is VERY particular about the syllabus, so read it. Follow instructions, do the work and you'll pass. He offers lots of extra credit too - which is a plus. About 17 easy quizzes, 4 easy timed essays, and a 25 question final exam & final exam essay. Take this class, it's a breeze!
All I can say is that this class was amazing, professor Brown was amazing, and you would understand a lot of things. Easy A is you put the work into it. I loved this class!
Straightforward class. Do the quizzes, discussions and short essays and you'll do fine. Make sure to make essays personal for full credit. If you do end up emailing him, he does come off a bit short, but if you really need help, he will help you. His lectures are great (you can fast forward because he does talk a bit slow.) Book is for discussions.
Brown is an alright professor. His class is easy, but his grading is off. His timed essays are confusing and he expects you to add a real life event, but then grades you as if you did not? Doesn't make sense. Thankfully he gives extra credit. Oh and beware of emailing him.. he is rude and short.
There is only a few teachers that I actually were truly sad that I am done with their class, and this is one of them. He is very intelligent, funny and tells great stories in class. His online teaching is also very thorough which came in handy because our in-class class became an online class from the covid19 experience. I highly recommend him
I really like Professor Brown's class. As long as you do the quizzes, discussions, and essays you can make an easy A in his class. You are able to earn extra credit in the class as well which is a bonus. I liked how he provided his lectures in video for the online class. It was helpful and he covered what was in the textbook.
I took this class as a 3-week mini mester. It was fast-paced, we pretty much had something due every day, however, he providers lecture videos and chapter outlines that I found very helpful. So I would recommend taking him , just make sure yo pay attention to due dates, and you will be fine.
This class felt self-taught. The book is easy reading and pretty straight forward. He also includes a brief lecture on each chapter(s) that really dont do any good. Theyre brief, one worded, chopping explanations. Lecture video also appeared to be pre-recorded from years ago, sometimes the sound came in and out.
FANTASTIC-2nd time w/ Prof Brown. Consists of weekly discussions & T/F quiz, 3 short OPINION essays and a final. Never cracked book. He posts recorded lectures that are actually enjoyable. He gives xtra credit and WANTS you to do well and enjoy his class. He knows we aren't PHIL majors. I would 100% take him again. Wish he taught more classes.
Lots of short essays and weekly discussions. Not really a ton of work. For me, it was a couple hours once a week. You cannot work ahead, but quizlet is your friend for the quizzes. ALL his lectures are video, no powerpoint so it's a little time consuming for that part. He gives an outline that is easy to follow. You can pass with minimal effort.
A great philosophy professor. His assignments are not hard and do not take much time at all. Overall an easy class and very easy to receive an A.
Easiest class I've ever taken. Every discussion and essay is just an opinion, you don't even have to cite the book. If you write paragraph or two you should get a 100 on pretty much everything. He's really big on 'teaching you how to think' but then dismisses stuff like relativism outright. It won't affect your grades though.
Easy A. Lots of discussions. They are a participation grade. Quizzes and short essays are easy. The book is pretty small, so the chapters are pretty minimal reading. And the book is super cheap, so that is a plus!
Mr. Brown is an awesome instructor. His online lecture videos are short, simple and to the point. He is very clear about his expectations and how the class is structured. He is very good about taking the information & putting into bite-sized bits. This class was so easy. Just follow his directions and you will do fine. He makes it easy to get an A!
This class is so easy. I enjoyed logging in and participating every week. He just wanted us to use our brains and think for ourselves and as long as you did that you'd be okay. VERY EASY A. I would take a class instructed by him a million time, his lectures were funny and also to the point. Learned a lot about philosophy and myself.
This was one of the best class experiences i've had at lonestar I 100% recommend this professor i had him for intro to philosophy and it was great. You will have timed essays and quizzes but as long as you see the lecture and the outline you'll be fine. His discussion boards are pretty easy as well as long as you back up you thought process.
I've taken three minimesters at LSC and this has been the easiest one by a long shot. You don't have to read the textbook, just read the outlines, and if you're confused, watch his lecture videos. The discussions and essays are opinion based and extremely easy. Nothing to sweat about whatsoever as long as you follow the grading rubric.
The lectures were very clear and concise. The discussions were very interesting. Quizzes were straightforward as long as you watched the lectures. Essays were easy to ace. Professor Brown made the class very enjoyable where you could focus on learning without stressing about your grade. I don't think you can go wrong with him.
He was a great professor and his class was very informational with the video lectures he would upload!
If you just need the credit, this is the professor to take. The class was easy to get an A in as long as you try. Honestly, you don't need to even watch the videos he posted to teach each module, the textbook has just about everything you need and it was small enough to read in a sitting. As for the professor himself, I know nothing about him.
Dr. Brown is the real life Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World. I just smiled the whole time. Wise and thoughtful with subtle humor mixed in. Easy A and a good class. Highly recommend!
This professor is a legend. Very understanding, cannot recommend him enough.
Professor Brown 3 week mini-course was amazing. The class was very easy and his lecture videos with printable handouts were the key answers to quizzes, he has a sense of humor and is very easy to keep up with. he gives 2 extra credit quizzes that you can't fail, and you will get the points no matter what you answer.
I took the first 6-week summer session, and it was overall a great experience. There are 1-2 weekly discussions, weekly quizzes and 4 essays. The essays were the hardest part because you are given 20 minutes without knowing what the topic is until you open it. But he gives great feedback, and his outlines are useful for essays. I recommend him!
Professor Brown's class was super easy better than a in person Phil class. Easy work: notes, discussion post and ch quiz. Easy grading he makes it interesting with his lecture videos, funny with his random jokes. Easy to contact he wants you to pass and is very lenient and easy to contact. I Recommend 100%
Easy class but be aware that the textbook is hard to find (you need it for discussions). Older/current edition isn't at library or any of those free textbook sites. Only option is to rent on Pearson for $40, or order the later edition on thriftbooks and wait weeks for it to arrive (that's what I did). IBSN is 9780133907766 so plan ahead
Participation matters in the sense that there are discussion posts you have to complete. Very easy course and Professor Brown structures the course very well. I took the online version that was 3 weeks, there were a lot of assignments to complete, but they were not difficult. He posts his lectures online so you can watch and provides outlines.
Prof. Brown is the best! His STEM background weaves into his entertaining lectures and I found myself captivated by his storytelling and air of knowledge. I would save his lectures to watch during my lunch break. The tests are easy, the discussions meaningful, and the reflective "essays" taught me more about myself and my own philosophy.
HIGHLY Recommend, super easy (only made a B since I missed a test and quiz). Class was a video of him giving lecture, some slight notes to take from the lecture and some summed up info he provides, quizzes for some units and a test for each unit completed. Easy right to the point, class was better than all other professors i've taken in person.
Let me start off wit the assignments. There are quizes, 10 question for each quiz, there easy. Discussions are part of the grade as well. You have to have the textbook to answer discussions but you can register for open library, it's free. Essays too, its a 20 minute essay so be quick. The professor him self is rude and ignorant in email watch out
Overall did not enjoy.
Amazing professor. I took his 6 week course in summer, and it was VERY manageable. his lectures are short, only about 13-25 minutes per topic.
Took him for a 3 - week mini mester. It was pretty straight forward and easy. He does not open everything up on the first day. Textbook is required to do the discussion post, but they are really easy to do. The class had 10 quizes, 10 Discussion post, 4 essays, and the final exam. He also does do extra credit for those who put in the effort.
I finished his three week mini class, he is an incredible professor and I really enjoyed listening to his lectures. He requires a textbook for the discussion posts but they are rather simple to do. He has ten essays that rather short, he does not let you see the topic before hand but there is no minimum length, he wants to see effort on them. Great
If you ever take to take an ethics class, I highly recommend taking it with him. His course work is extremely easy and straightforward. You have 10 quizzes (all of them are true or false), 4 essays with a 20 minute time limit (it's more of a short answer response), and final exam.
Professor Brown's PHIL1301 class was straight-forward and manageable. The lectures are concise, and the assignments, including quizzes, discussions, and essays, are reasonable. Utilizing resources like unstuck AI alongside the textbook can help you succeed in this course.
One of, if not the favorite, of professors I have taken. With a full-time job, this class was so amazing. He does a weekly discussion post, quiz, video + written summary of whatever is covered that week plus 4 small essays as a 'quiz'. He loves what he teaches, and it shows. All you have to do is try—extra credit at the end for 25pts.
I have lost brain cells listening to this guy speak. This class is very outdated, and Prof. Brown is even more outdated. He teaches assuming you are of Christian faith. His accent is hard to listen to. This is the easiest class I've ever taken and it takes about 30 mins to finish a few weeks of work. Don't expect to learn anything new though.
Easiest A ever. Assignments and related material open up every ten days, but all the work can be done in about 3-4 hours. 5 timed essays that are very easy to complete, so don't stress too much about them. I liked that the essays force you to think about your thought processes, but I did find the class boring at times. Not a bad experience though.
