He is one of the best professors I have had at Macomb. Even if you are not interested in accounting as a major you should just take the class because Mr. Callaghan is a great teacher

I was the best student in his class. All A's on tests. And for the guy complaining about him not using the book, to me that shows his true teaching skill and that he knows his stuff. Has good stories from his background as an accountant. I must say though that when the class ended about 80% dropped.

I was another one of those who got A's in his class. I enjoyed him alot and he was very helpful with explaining what was going to be on the exams.

Not knowing ANYTHING about accounting going in, this was the hardest class Ive ever been in. still mustard a b+, but ohhhhh the homework! it seemed like 4-5 hours a day 6-7 days a week and hard as heck! I do agree...no sence of humor, but hey, online classes are hard...he seemed to be a good insctructor...just a hard class

I took this online and it was very fast paced. Callaghan was helpful, but if you do not know accounting it is tough. He gives a lot of homework problems, but you get a chance to re-do them. His final was hard though.

Very thorough in his lectures...answers all questions without humiliating you. Makes himself available to help both in class and through e-mail, which was answered within the hour. Tests were challenging...part multiple choice questions, followed with an example problem for each chapter. A very good experience.

Mr. Callaghan was the best Accounting professor I have had. Even though he gives alot of homework, I really enjoyed it. i ended up with an A. The grades was based off of only four exams and if you did the homework the exams were easy. I wish I could take him for 1090. CALLAGHAN ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Accounting is very hard. This was the second time I took this class and Callaghan taught way better then the previous teacher. You must do the homework otherwise you will not understand the tests. I would definitely recommend him. I wish he was teaching 1090. Go to class, stay the whole time, do the homework, and you will pass. that simple

Great teacher! Accounting takes a lot of effort, but he was a fair teacher who made everyhting quite clear. He also tends to grade tests on a curve. Must do homework and come to class every time!

Callaghan is great! If you are lazy and don't do homework, don't take him. He does call on students to answer the problems. Regardless, he is hilarious! If you go to class and do your homework you'll do fine.

Professor Callaghan is AMAZING! He gave me so much extra help when I was confused and is very helpful when it comes to tests! Definitely take this man! He is very nice && funny. You go over homework in class but it isn't graded, your grade is just 4 tests but he helps you with the material so the hardest part is the multiple choice.

He's a good teacher, he goes nice and slow to make sure everyone understands. He isn't a blow off teacher but he helps anyone who needs it. He also lets you know what work out problem material you will have on the tests, prior to the test date.

excellent professor really knows his stuff he shoudl he was a CPA before he came to macomb to teach very approachable. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Before taking this class, I read all the postings and wasn't going to take him. But I am not sure what everyone is talking about him being the worst teacher. He has helped me alot everytime I ask a question. His homework load is not ridiculous and it's repeative every week. So you know what to do. The class in general is hard.

This class was hard, but i learned so much! You get a lot of work each week, but allows for re-dos, and tests are very manageable if you do your homework! I took this online, but he seemed like a very nice professor. I ended up with an A and i put in a lot of effort and time towards this class!

Professor was very helpful. He gives a audio lectures which seemed to help me learn easier. I thought he was more than generous with the homework assignments. He lets you redo the ones you get wrong so you can get more points. He even gives you a schedule to manage your time. Although the tests can hard and tricky. You have to put the work in!

This was the 2nd time I took Mr, Callaghan...on purpose! If you're looking to learn, and put in the work, he's the best. I'd take him again if I could. Prepare to show up to class and finish the HW. You will be challenged and come out of the class knowing ACCT.

Professor is very helpful and generous in his homework assignments. I learned alot from this class thanks to him. He lets you redo HW problems. He has audio presentations for each chapter. He is the only teacher that does this! It is very helful in my learning experience of online classes. It is different than any of my online classes. Good class

Answers alot of questions helpful with homework, explains hw clearly, nice guy cares about his students. test are hard and a little confunsing. study ur ass off

If you are a bad test taker don't take this professor cuz your whole grade is made out of the 4 exams which are hard and confusing and not well balanced in points you either get A or E. There is a one problem per chapter and the multiply choice questions mostly are all calculations and you have 1 hour and 30 min to do the exam.

great online prof. if you do the work and put in the time the quizes are a breeze. Hes very straight forward and very helpful. very consuming class though.

Awesome teacher. He loves accounting and you can tell by his actions in the classroom. This class will never be an easy A, you have to work for it, but he gives you everything you need to succeed.. "In his heart beats many A's" :)

Online class was tough. 8 weeks, online, and no lectures. He gives you a 5minute review of the chapter and that's it. After I took the class, I was told you should never take intro Acct online.I wish I heard this news earlier. Don't fall behind and DO ALL work, even the 60mins or150mins problems!Yes there are...120-150minute problems from the book!

Accounting is HARD to begin with, online or not. He is BY FAR the best professor i've had (i've taken this class 3 TIMES!) This is a time consuming class regardless of the professor. Stay on top of things and you WILL pass his class. He is very helpful, and clear! Accounting isn't for slackers, no matter who the professor is!

Accounting is very boring to begin with, but Prof. Callaghan is great. He is clear with what is expected. Goes over all the homework so you understand. Willing to help. Grade is based on 4 test (with a curve). I've taken him 3 times, best Acct prof at Macomb. It's alot of work, but it's a fairly easy class if you do the work.

If you are taking ACCT, you want it to be with this professor. (1) He allows you a chance to resubmit assignments if you grade would be a B or less. (2) He gives verbal instruction, and power point. (3) He responds quickly. (4) Person feedback. ***He is a good-it the course, not the professor. The text also stinks-so pay attn.***

Took course online and I love his YouTube videos! Was told acct should never be taken online but he is great. He responds quickly, helps by explaining what you did wrong, gives do-overs! Workload is hefty but its accounting and all done on the computer through MYACCTLAB. Online assignments prepare you for test. Fair grading.

This teacher was by far the best teacher to take for this class. It was not at all easy and required a ton of work. If you have limited time or get confused easily with numbers I would not suggest this class for you! It is very tough but he does allow redos which saved my grade. His textbook ot confusing towards the end but hey I passed with a C+.

I took 1080 with him online and am now taking 1090 with him in class. He is a great teacher and makes accounting as fun as it can be, but still very hard. If you get it you're good, if you don't you'll struggle. I don't get acct but he helps as much as he can. I have all A's except 1080 & 1090... Just the material. Good teacher though.

Awesome teacher. If you want to go into accounting take his class! He makes his own tests and will even tell you which problems to study for!! I have never met a teacher that knows more about there subject than him. I highly recommend him. Just make sure to do the homework and you'll do fine. Tests are just like them!

Best accounting class yet. He prefers you use excel when doing homework but writing everything out helps you remember it better. Lots of formats to remember. First 2 tests were not too bad. Last 2 were tough. All test problems are based off of book homework so if you don't do the homework, GOOD LUCK! I would recommend him to anyone.

ACCT 2270. Took this class on campus. Out of the three Accounting classes I took at Macomb, his was my favorite. Excellent teacher, explains concepts well, jokes around, gives you a pretty good idea of what will be on the exam. Downside is there is no extra credit or points for homework/attendance. He does sometimes grade on a curve. Recommended.

The class was very well taught. He made sure you understood the material before you moved ahead. I loved the audio files he sent with your returned assignments. It helped me get a feel for corrections that needed to be made on your assignments.

I took his class online in an 8 week period... Was very helpful!! Always emailed back in a quick timeframe! Sent audio files with your graded homework to know what you did wrong, do all the homework and don't fall behind and you will do fine! He sends out a document that goes step by step every day what work to do, use it exactly! Would recommend!

What I learned in my 1090 class with him was although he doesn't collectgrade the homework, if you actually sit down and carefully read the chapters and DO the homework to your greatest potential, you WILL succeed on the exams. He will tell you which problems to study more and that helps so much. I can't wait to take him again for managerial.

Pretty funny guy. Tells you what to study for on the tests which are not that bad if you do the homework. This is not an easy class but he is a good teacher and knows the subject well. Accounting classes should be taken in person.

DR. C WAS SUCH A GREAT TEACHER, VERY RESPONSIVE AND CARING. YOU HAVE ABOUT 3-4 ASSIGNMENTS A WEEK, ALL WITH DIFFERENT DUE DAYS. HE IS VERY UNDERSTANDING OF LATE WORK. AS LONG AS YOU DO THE WORK, YOU'LL GET A GOOD GRADE.

Not sure why all of these ratings on him are "extremely hard" "disrespectful" this is one of the nicest professors and he takes the time to give feedback on every single assignment that you turn in, even on the day you turn in your assignments so that you can redo or fix any mistakes to improve your assignment score. #1 ANY ACCOUNTING CLASS IS HARD ONLINE. As far as in class i was skeptical at first because he doesn't do review days and your grade is based solely off of tests HOWEVER his lectures are put in terms anybody can understand, he will give you key indicators on what specifically to study on, he will answer ALL questions, and he is very funny and nice.

Accounting does not come easy for everyone. You had to teach yourself everything, but in my opinion, this helped me so much. If you're serious about accounting being a career, take his class. You have to put a lot of work in, but it's worth it if you need to know everything accounting!

best professor ive ever had for a math class. he seriously is so sweet, and patient and explains well while teaching. being a zoom class, i still was able to learn so much. he really does care and knows what he is teaching. very easy going and just all around the BEST. he will throw in lil accounting jokes that just make you giggle. highly recomm

I would not advise taking this Professor. PowerPoint presentation are the same as the book if you read the book. He could improve his teaching by explaining how to use the program Pearson so students understanding what to do. 30 minutes to take a quiz and do the math and fill in the information is ridiculous! Worst teacher I have ever had!

Overall, I liked Professor Callaghan's class. His tests were weighted heavily, but he did curve them and offer extra credit. Additionally, he is willing to answer questions you may have. Accounting is a hard class to begin with.

By far, Professor Callaghan is the best instructor I've ever had. He is awesome, his lectures were very helpful. I loved the way he slowly explained each chapter's materials. He is very responsive to his email. I highly recommend him. If you work diligently and keep up with your work, you'll pass.

The class is challenging, but engaging if you put in the effort. The textbook and lectures are helpful, and unstuck ai's practice tools were a game-changer for prep. Overall, a tough but worthwhile experience.
