Even as a honors teacher, he is very good at making the subject easier to understand. His tests are essays and not hard at all.

Dr. Carter is a really fun professor to have. He has a lot of firsthand experience with history through traveling and keeps the class interested. He provides written lectures for everyone, but quizes a lot on stuff from the book, and on outside reading. He usually doesn' t get upset easily and is very agreeable. He was kewl.

Very good instructor. Keeps everyting simple. If you read you pass. You learn about History in a very fun way. If you need help he is there. He is the perfect example of what an instructor should be.

Great instructor. Took him twice and the second time was even easier.

Lots of reading. Great professor. Easy A just read the assignments. You will do great. The only think i did not like about him is that his voice is very monotone and a bit boring.

HE GAVE ALOT OF READINGS AND QUIZZES OVER THE READINGS BUT AS LONG AS YOU ATTEND CLASS PAY ATTENTION AND TAKE NOTES YOU WILL PASS. YOU DONT NEED THE TEXTBOOK!

This class is interesting and getting an A is easy if you do the required readings and understand them. He prints out his lecture notes and hands them out to the class, so note taking is minimized. Studying the lectures will guarantee that you will do well on the midterm and final. TEXTBOOK NOT NEEDED! Got an A! Highly recommended!

Class was interesting. Professor is knowledgable, down to earth, and helpful for students. Best prof I have had so far.

GREAT teacherr!! very easyy class his exams are essays but extreamly easy, bearly takes attendance and gives out notes for everything, the exams are the notes, just memorize them and dont need a text book at all! i love it , bearly went to class and passes with a B+ and if you miss a test just talk to him he's super nice and will understand.

He ask is you want to buy book or use something else. Book is hard to read and confusing his quizzes are based on that and he wants clear detail. Midterm was simple he provides you with all the outlines you need. He was relatively simple and funny. Not many notes.

this class was so-so. i passed with a b without any extra credit, even though he gives alot of it. you read ALOT, and have to take notes. attend class or else you will be lost.

Dr Carter is a wonderful professor , he's really helpful . History is his specialty , he has also written a history book .I have nothing negative to say about him .

Great professor. Great mentor. As a history major, he was very helpful and very influential in his teachings. I still keep in touch with him and always look to him when I need clarification. Great professor! Take notes in his class and you should be fine. Midterm and Final are essay based but he allows some notes (20 words per essay question).

Dr. Carter is awesome! He's not very organized and has a very laid back attitude. In class quizzes and in class essay mid term and final. Often cuts class short. He's fun and easy going. You do have to read and take notes but he explains and goes everything very well. I really enjoyed his class. Highly recommended

His class is cool, I enjoy listening to history even though don't like history but he makes it interested. Awesome teacher just need to take notes study and you will be fine. Gives great notes on the review to get you prepare for the test.

This professor is a good one, really laid back,if u read all of what he assigns and memorize it you should get an A. He tests are essay questions, and he doesnt give you a good grade unless you deserve it, but as long as you study the notes and take good quizes you should get an A

I absolutely loved his class. He shows students his passion for history. He may go alittle off topic at time but that is only when someone started asking odd questions. He's a great professor and highly recomend others to take his class i got an A and thats because i never really like history until i took his class.

Very easy class. The ones complaining are those who want to get through school doing absolutely nothing. He does get off topic once in a while but his exams are easy. Read what he tells you and you'll get an A. He does require 2 books but they're like 20 bucks. Take him if you want to actually learn something.

Here is what you do in his class 1. Buy a textbook and a book that he wrote. 2. About 5 test during the semister on lecture (powerpoints), or the books 3. Only thing for homework is to read and study for a test. if you could do that you passed. Just To add he super funny And cool to the point where you want to go to his class.

Best History Proff ever, I swear, his class is never boring, he sometimes talks about random stuff, but you learn either way. As long as you do your work you WILL get an A. Love this guy!

He is an amazing professor, like most history professors he is very passionate about the subject. He lectures with power points but makes it interesting. It's easy to stay on task, just go to class, do your homework and study for the exams, even if you're a lazy student you can definitely still pass with a C. Definitely worth taking.

Honestly one of the greatest teachers you will have. If he gets a long well with your class, you're going to go off topic... a lot. He's a chill professor and is pretty passionate about what he's teaching. Highly recommend to take his class! You will need to buy his book. His first few tests are based off of stuff from it.

He's a cool teacher. Extremely chill most of the times. I need to say thanks to him because he passed me, but he really goes off topic in every single class. He never uploaded any single grade in the whole semester.

Took him for history 1&2, super easy class of you take notes and study for the tests. You only take 2 tests and have quizzes here and there. he makes you read and likes to have his respect by paying attention, not talking or using your phone during class. Hilarious instructor! definitely would take again if I had te chance !

Mr. Carter is the best I would definitely take his class again. Explains in great detail, makes lectures interesting, does good reviews before exams. Quizzes are easy, just show up to class, write down notes and study them and you would do perfectly fine. He gives a lot of extra credit that can boost up failing grades. Highly recommend. A+

Took a chapter quiz once a week for five weeks, took "pics" a lot, gives you a blueprint to study for midterm and final, super funny and an absolute badass. He does get bothered by late students, and using cellphones.

Highly recommend! Great instructor, took him for history 1301&1302 and got A+ on both. He does expect respect, no cellphones or talking. Makes lectures extremely interesting. Gives extra credit, expect a lot of reading. Quizzes at least once a week but it's about reading. I will take him for future classes.

Probably the best class I've taken in college so far. Took him for history 2 and got an A. Just read for the quizzes and you will most likely pass. He does give make ups in case you miss a quiz or a test.

Professor is an amazing teacher. His lectures are very captivating and to the point. He explains well and gives opportunity for class participation and questions. Answers questions thouroughly! For the first part of his class we read off his book- he is the author "Indian Alliances" Easy quizzes daily on readings. Loved his class!

BEST TEACHER IVE TAKEN! He is one of the most amazing teachers at stc. He does demand respect from us in his class (no cellphones, talking while he's talking, or being late.) He let us take pictures of the power point presentation which are basically our notes. He also gave us a review for our midterm and the final was a take home test.

He is a great instructor! my favorite subject now is history. Be prepared to read a lot(off an online source)and take a quiz after reading each assigned chapter. He gives out reviews for the final and midterm, as well as extra credit. He is very flexible, and allows you to make up quizzes or turn in work late if you were absent.

Great professor as long as you take notes you will pass , he does make you write notes but all that info is what he tests you on. You study you pass and hes funny makes time go by fast.

He is totally awesome! i loved his class. He does make you work for your grade, but it is so well worth it. I took him for Summer 1 and yeah things went by very fast, but i do feel like i learned so much in that class. I am sure if he was taken in the fall or spring he would be a little bit easier.

Weekly quizzes but nothing too hard. Multiple choice midterm and take home final. Keep your notes! As for his lectures, tends to digress but pretty interesting. Carter is not your typical professor but you will learn more then a textbook can offer.

Mr. Carter's lectures are awesome and so compelling. I never thought I'd enjoy class so much. Does assign readings from an online source (no book+), but it's no big deal. Weekly quizzes, a lot of extra credit, and Midterm & Final reviews. He's unlike every other instructor; he gives off great vibes and makes lecture so FUN. Get him b4 it's 2 late:)

Carter's material comes from his lectures, a bit from the textbook, and some documentaries. You'll get a few papers, but it's only 1 page. Study the material and you'll be pass the class with an easy A. If the course has SI support, I'd recommend using that resource as the peer tutor taken the class before and can help you even more.

Very chill class. Took carter for summer 1 he usually lets class out pretty early and doesn't give much work. He gives a quiz almost every week off a textbook which is online (he gives you the link for it) 2 tests midterm and final and a 3 pages essay. Gives loads of extra credit! great teacher.

This professor is awesome. his book is online, Usually once a week, we would read a chapter and have a 3-5 question quiz. If you didn't study you could skip class and make a summary of the chapter. enough extra credit. Cancels class a lot, which is actually pretty nice lol. His assignments and lectures are really interesting and controversial. easy

Mr Carter is the best History professor ive ever taken. He makes you want to show up for class. The only thing he does not tolerate is the use of cell phones, which is understandable. If you have the chance, take him because his classes fill up quick!

This has definitely been my favorite professor at KSU! He really cares about your grade and passionate about literature. He provides extra credit, group work in class as grades overall its super essay to get an A.
