Mr. Clark is the very BEST Math teacher! He explains all material thoroughly, and he is so kind. I don't know what the other commenter is complaining about. His notes are as clear as day and extremely helpful. A practice test is given before the test that is IDENTICAL to the actual test. If you do your homework and go to class, this is an easy A!
Very helpful! Helps you in any way he can. A little awkward at first but manages to get the job done.
This guy is awkward at first, but a great teacher. You learn alot and it is easy. tells you exactly whats on each test and emails you notes to help with all of the tests and homeworks. Anyone who posts on here in the future complaining is just ignorant and probably thinks theyre smarter than they really are. Easy and i mean EASY A!
Easy and great professor. Gives take home tests and emails you all notes. He is also very helpful but can be a little awkward at times but still is a great teacher!
I normally do not like math and disliked many of my past math teachers but Professor Clark was different. He thoroughly explained everything to you and even though you say "yes, I get it" but your facial expression seem lost, he would repeat it again. He e-mails you the notes, he is willing to tutor you whenever, wonderful math teacher. A+ for him!
Overall a great human being and a great teacher. Unbelievably patient, considering some lazy entitled students that don't want to do homework and expect a good grade. He is also excellent at explaining in class and is super accommodating with extra credit and tutoring. Easy A if you ask him questions, do homework, and study his practice tests.
I have him for Mngmt. Calculus. He's one of the few teachers that actually put in an effort into having students succeed. Knows everyone's name, very flexible extra help hours, and is extremely helpful.
Best math teacher I've ever had.
I felt personally obligated to let everyone know just how truly amazing Mr. Clark is. Not only as a teacher, but as a human. He personally tutored me out of his own time over 100 hours throughout the semester, made sure I understood everything, and was always there for me. He is seriously a great guy, fair grader, and makes also hilarious! Love him
Prof. Clark is a great professor and a great guy! This is coming form a big critic. Calc. is often a difficult course but Prof. Clark made it manageable and enjoyable to come to class. The main thing I want to emphasize is he really cares about his students success and will do anything to help. The only criticism I have is the final is worth 30%.
Transfer students and business students, you'd be fools to not take Professor Clark. I had him for MGMT Calculus. He is the most down to earth Professor I've had. Again, do yourself a favor and take every class this man teaches! Enough said! For those who love professor Clark and know the story write SHOEBOOTY on your rating! You know who you are!
Great Professor and wants you to learn the material. really forgiving and willing to make extra time for you to understand. Tells funny jokes in class!
If you are taking Calculus at UMass Lowell Will Clark is the guy you want. He takes the time to cover every single step. When he writes out problems they are crystal clear. The math itself is difficult but he makes it as easy as possible. If you are having difficulty he offers tutoring at Einstein's Bagels multiple times a week.
Super helpful. I have never had a professor that cares as much about the students success as he does. Definitely take his class hes the best professor I have had at UML
Such a good guy. You will learn a lot from him. Probably one of the few good professors at UMASS Lowell
This man is a saint. His exams are basically given to you through the study guides, same thing different numbers. He gives you so many chances to get your grade up. He cares SO MUCH about his students and their grades and will go to the ends of the earth to get you a good grade.
Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy is all I got to say. Super nice guy, gives lots of extra chances, lets you take the exams late and will low key help you during the exam. Even though he assigns homework each week, you can hand in everything at once on the last day of class. On top: super funny dude! Would love to take him again.
Hands down the best professor at UMass Lowell. He takes the time to explain every step of a problem. He gives you so many opportunities to bring your grade up through extra credit and corrections. On top of that, he offers tutoring at Einstein's Bagels multiple times during the week and sometimes during the weekend when an exam is near.
Guy is the goat
I was skeptical at first when I first met him, but during the semester I found out he was really caring about his students and a funny guy. He tries to make the material as easy as he can teach it. However, there's a lot of MML and tests and quizzes can be hard. He wants everybody to succeed and he'll make time for every student
Very approachable and very kind. He was available for tons of time outside class for extra tutoring. If you're showing up to class and putting in the effort, he'll do what he can to help you understand the material. No surprises on exams; the homework and practice tests will get you ready for them as long as you actually do them.
This guy is the reason I did so well in probability and statistics. He is the nicest guy, wants you to succeed, is brilliant and also hilarious. Ill never forget the joke he made in class where he once made a youtube video and people in the comments section told him he looked like michael myers on crack. Never laughed so hard in my entire life.
He's an extremely easy grader when taking into account all of the extra credit, corrections, notes, and practice tests/study guides he provides. Not only this, but he goes out of his way to be available for tutoring as much as possible if you need it. Expect easy weekly quizzes, MML homework assignments, and a few tests.
Prof. Clark wants you to pass, succeed and most importantly he wants to make sure you genuinely understand the material. He is easily available for extra help and he truly cares about his students. His subtle sense of humor lightens up class. He assigns homework for your personal benefit. No textbook used. Open note quizzes. Extra credit.
One of the most genuine and helpful profs I've had in my college career. I highly recommend!!
All time favorite teacher. He gives a lot of chances to make up work and wants you to succeed. MML, 1 project, weekly quizzes. Can skip, but not recommended. Always there for extra tutoring!
Easily one of the best professors I've ever had at Umass Lowell. He genuineley cares about his students and wants you to succeed. He gives extra credit that actually helps your grade and is also hilarious. Love this guy!
The best professor I've ever met. He really loves to teach wants you to understand the material and get an A. Definitely take him again if he teaches other classes!
Professor Clark is an awesome calc teacher. He genuinely cares about his students, and is willing to take hours out of his day to tutor.
He is the one of the most delicated teachers I've ever met. He offers a lot of tutoring during the week days and sometimes, before the exam day, he goes to school to tutor for hours. If you do not have time to come to his tutoring. He is also a fast email replier, don't afraid to email him when you're stuck with hw.
Professor Clark is a great professor who cares a lot about his student's success. He does a good job explaining topics, and he is very accessible outside of class with clear tutoring hours.
Professor Clark is a cool guy, and always makes himself available for anyone who needs help. Calc 1 is a hard class in general and he didn't really force me to care about it, but I could see the effort he was putting in despite the fact many people just talked to their friends during class. Take him if you need Calc 1, but be warned it's not easy.
I took applied stats online, interesting professor, and I learned a lot of statistics concepts that I ended up using later in a graduate level course.
The guy deserves a 6/5. The rating complaining about the structure of his online class literally signed up for an online class, what'd he expect. Would take all of calculus a second time taught by him.
AMAZING professor. Teaches Calc I and Calc II to your level off understanding (doesn't teach over your head). really cares about his students and has VERY flexible tutoring hours as long as you ask him. He truly wants you to pass the class. He will help you as best as he can. Overall, AMAZING professor.
Believe every positive comment. Professor Clark really wants students to learn. He gives great comments so you know how to improve. His class is very well organized. He responds to messages. He holds tutoring sessions. Six week summer class and he would adjust due dates to help people be successful. Excellent online class. UML needs more like him.
Easily one of the best professors I have ever taken. Gives clear directions, helps you with almost any questions, and notes are phenomenal. Minitab assignments are easy; do not buy Minitab - use vLabs under General Engineering. Is very responsive to emails and genuinely cares about student performances. Do not hesitate to take his classes.
Professor Clark cares so much about his students and it really shows. I am someone who typically does not like math but he gives clear instructions that make me feel more confident. He is very understanding and accessible outside of class. He does everything in his power to make sure we learn. He is the definition of what a teacher should be!
Professor Clark is really kind! In fact, he is too kind to be a professor! I wish he were my organic chemistry teacher!
Clark is so kind, he was the best professor I've ever had. He truly cares about his students' success. He taught the material very well, gave us a lot of practice and a lot of feedback. He also held tutoring multiple times a week and was very responsive via email. Definitely recommend taking stats with him!
Probably the kindest and most dedicated professor at UMass Lowell. He genuinely cares about having students succeed and is ready to tutor and help you if you need the help. He is inspirational and caring, and is able to relate to students problems also. He really is a top 2-3 professor at this university.
hes an easy going professor but his lectures dont really make sense. he does offer a lot of opportunities for tutoring though
Excellent Professor! Cares a lot about student success and holds plenty of opportunities for tutoring. The students that complain about the course being tough either never ask him questions, doesn't care, or doesn't takes advantage of his tutoring. He is a very fast email replier, so don't be afraid to ask him questions by email as well.
Mr. Clark is literally the best and most accommodating math teacher anyone could have asked for. He provides so many resources and examples to help you understand each topic and he literally has the most office hours out of any teacher I've had (weekends too). I would recommend him to everyone who needs to take calculus. This man is a gem 11/10.
Prof. Clark is the most caring person at UML. He truly cares about you as a person. I would take him again 11/10 times. I mean really, go with him as your professor. DO THE STUDY GUIDES FOR THE EXAMS! If you do the practice exams and understand it you should be getting a very high score. Trust.
Professor Clark is amazing and so sweet . I took stats and he taught it like he was teaching a middle schooler, so easy and simple . MAKE SURE YOU DO THE HOMEWORKS because he goes over it in class in detail and that's when you can ask questions (which he loves). He really wants you to like the subject , he's caring too.
Great guy but he's obsessed with emails--especially ones after 1AM. He really wants people to pass/do well in the course and genuinely cares about the education of his students. Super easy class, it's just the constant emails that are hard to overlook.
Prof Clark cares about your success. He's always giving out extra credit opportunities, extensions on assignments, and he has tutoring sessions almost every day of the week. He's a very mild-mannered guy, but he sometimes talks down to his students and treats them like middle schoolers. He also is the king of emails, usually sending out 2-3 a day.
dropped the class at the end of october, i knew i would fail. showed up to every single class and took notes bc i'm not great at math so i had to work hard for decent grades. i attended tutoring a lot, he was very aggravated when i didnt understand smth. i was in his t/th 8am, and the rating that said he only talks down to u if u skip is so wrong..
Fantastic professor! Cares a lot for student success. Provides many resources for his class. He provides videos of his class content as well as many tutoring hours. Very fast email replier as well! He'll reply to your email often within minutes. Do not hesitate to take his classes.
Believe every positive comment! I've never seen a professor give so many hours in helping his students. Even during his part time job on the weekends , he'll still find time to email his students back within minutes. Goes over practice problems well and will explain each step. Def. go with this professor.
William Clark is a gem. He really cares about his students and he is easily the professor with the most tutor hours. He also gives a lot of extra credit and extensions if you fall behind. His practice exams are a resemblance of what is going to be on the real exam; therefore, you have high chances of getting an A.
This guy really cares about you and whether you understand the material. He gives a ton of extra credit and gives you every opportunity to learn through office hours and giving fast replies on emails. If he did half of what he already does it would still be enough for me to give him a 5/5 so I really don't know who would give him a bad review
Amazing professor who cares about you. Make sure you do the work and read what he posts on blackboard, its really hard to fail so just make sure you open what he posts, read his emails and attempt the work. Do all that and show up to classes, care about your grade and communicate with him and you'll be sure to do fine. 100% highly recommend.
He really cares about his students and their success, but that sometimes means pushing back deadlines so many times that the class scrambles toward the end of the semester to learn the material needed for the final. Sends lots of emails and posts a LOT on Blackboard. Offers tons of tutoring. Okay class to take if you just need the math credit.
Prof. Clark was the most patient professor I've had who worked very hard for the success of his students. The previous rating of Mr. Clark talking down to students is absolutely absurd as he is the kindest teacher I've met. Replies to emails very fast. Be warned however as the dept. final was tough which dragged my A- to a B.
Excellent Professor and great person! Went above any beyond his students. Provided plenty of practice problems and resources for students to learn. I've learned a great deal in Prof. Clark's class and look forward to applying what I've learned in future classes.
Homework was assigned often for this class. I found it was harder to try and teach yourself the content when I did not show up for class so I suggest making it easier and just show up. Really thoughtful professor who wants his students to succeed!!
Excellent professor! I dislike math and Statistics in general. However, prof. Clark's availability outside of class and his willingness to go the extra mile for his students made it manageable and enjoyable to attend his class. A must recommend!
Clark is super nice and a great professor. He has my utmost respect for responding to e-mail within like 30 minutes and is very communicative. I ended with a 109 due to all of the extra credit and scaling, it's impossible to fail this class. His tests and quizzes are easy and very fair, anyone who says otherwise is not a human being.
This man is the definition of a good professor. Very hard to fail his class unless you are taking more than one math class a semester, but he is amazing. Truly cares about everyone of his students, and is the most accomodating professor there is at UMass Lowell. Someone give this man a teacher of the decade award.
Clark is super generous with his grading and almost always pushes back the due date for the homework. He offers a ton of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester and all his quizzes were take-home and his practice exams were the same setup as the real exam. I went to class which was but it's not necessary since he posts each lecture.
This professor is nice and really does care for his students. However, I found myself confused a lot of the time in class. I really can't tell you anything that I have learned. The professor would get off topic all the time. I would go to his tutoring hours (willing to help out students), yet leave still confused.
Very good professor! Don't believe the naysayers. Prof. Clark taught the course in an excellent manner and was always available to tutor. Amazing lectures! The only downfall is the type of classroom setup he taught in which precluded him to use the board for visualization and limiting him to use the projector/power points.
If you arent a STEM major and need a math credit, I would highly recommend Professor Clark. I wont
Professor Clark really cares about his students learning. He provides lots of tutoring outside of class including Sundays. He responds to emails very quickly. He provides extra credit for tests and will give make up exams. He explains content in a very simplistic manner so you can understand and goes over multiple problems to help you understand.
Professor Clark was a great teacher! I took his 6 weeks accelerated course during the summer and learned a lot!! He always has tutoring outside of class and holds a weekly Sunday chat for those with questions. He is also very flexible with homework or quizzes if you need more time and ask in advance for an extension.
Professor Clark is amazing. He cares about his students. has a lot of tutoring hours (that I would totally recommend using), gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit, and very flexible with due dates.
If you're looking for a great professor to take for intro to statistics, look no further because professor Clark is your man. Exams are very similar to homework and he tells you exactly what to expect. He offers extra credit and even extra help whenever you need it just ask him!. Pay attention and utilize everything he gives you and you will excel!
Professor Clark is great he is super nice and holds lots of office hours if you are not understanding the class. He is flexible and works with his students because he wants to help them succeed. I am not a strong math student but with his style of teaching and all the extra help I was able to do well in his class.
Professor Clark is probably the best professor I have had. I had him for intro to stats. He made the material so easy to understand. He is very understanding of students chaotic schedules, and always asks us "what he can do better to help us". He is one of the only professors that genuinely cares for his students.
Super nice, goes out of his way to ensure you succeed: homework reminders, extra credit, test corrections, videos+lecture notes, multiple attempts on homework+ quizzes, cheat sheet for exams, extends deadlines, practice exams + solutions explained, tutoring hours, very responsive to emails. If you don't get at least a B+ (if not an A) it's on you.
Mr. Clark is a great professor! he truly cares about his students
Professor Clark is an extremely nice professor!Homework 40%, Quizzes 20%, 2 exams 20%, Final exam 20%. About 12-15 HW assignments on BB. 5-10 problems per homework (extremely easy) and is a reflection of the quizzes. He's super flexible with the homework deadlines. Before finals he opens all homework again. Super accessible outside of class.
So lucky to take his class
Easiest A ever. Just took for the math credit for my major and I can't tell you anything about statistics but i got a 106 on the final. Curves everything always extends deadlines you have to be on something to not get an A in his class
Dr.Clark was great, he had office hours that accommodated students with jobs etc. His lectures were long, but always very clear, and he would review a topic if there were questions. I found the exams to be easy/straightforward. If you complete the review problems you will be prepared for exams and the final.
One of the nicest, most caring, and accessible professors I have ever had. His class was a joy to take, I enjoyed every week of it. Why? Because I knew he cared about my success. Like, legitimately Cared. It made me try even harder knowing that he was in my corner, and was willing to help He is an absolute gem of a person. Take his class.
Best stats professor ever. He gives extra credit like jesus gave 2 slices of bread to 400 people.
Super nice! Love this professor. He gives so many extra credit chances and wants everyone to do well in the class. offers exam corrections. each homework is online and multiple attempts. each quiz is 2 attempts and also online. He allowed for cheat sheets and formula sheets on all exams.
Honestly it's really hard to fail his class even if you tried. He is such a nice and caring person. He has very generous tutoring hours and always mentions how he wants all his students to succeed. You can tell he really cares about his students. He walks around, shakes hands, hugs and asks if we are doing ok. SO SWEET & GENUINE. Just go to class!
Very caring, personable, and approachable! Always available for extra help and replies fast by email! Explains problems very thoroughly to a fault. Excellent lecture videos on Blackboard. My only complaint is that he gets caught up in the details of trying to explain that he rushes at the end of class. Still one of the better Prof. however!
Professor Clark is super nice and truly wants the best for his students.Lectures were boring sometimes, but this is because he goes very slowly, and I found the material easy.He posts videos to help students and sends emails to help students regularly. Offers plenty of extra credit and exams are not too bad. If you do the work, you'll do well.
Best professor at UML. If you need to take intro to stats, take him. Other than being a great professor, he is also extremely caring and wants all of his students to succeed.
The best stats professor at uml
Professor Clark was a great professor for Intro to Stats. I am not a math person and Professor Clark is extremely accessible outside of class for tutoring if you're struggling in a certain area. He really cares about his students and wants them to pass. There are 2 tests and a final exam as well as weekly homework and quizzes.
I took intro to stats with professor Clark. He was one of the best teachers I ever had, everything was explained very clearly and he had very accessible tutoring hours. One of the few teachers who actually really wants to see his students succeed--10/10 would recommend taking this course or any math course with him!
Overall very good professor. He provides a lot of outside of class help and is very accessible. There is homework every week and quizzes every other week or so, but very manageable. The material was sometimes difficult and the only thing I can say is that sometimes he teaches very quickly and it can be hard to keep up. Would recommend him 100% tho.
lots of tutoring hours only prof I've seen that cares so much about students lectures can get boring but he doesn't waste time gives extra credit if you correct him
Truly the best professor I had so far. He wants his students to pass and makes it easier for them to. Made stats very easy to learn.
Clark is a nice guy and truly wants to see everyone succeed in his class. I would absolutely take him again as he makes his class very easy. The only thing I'd be wary of is that he can go far too fast and sometimes is not as clear as he should be with how he grades and what will be on exams.
Clark is great and truly cares about his students. He is constantly available and wants to see his students succeed.
Mr. Clark is an excellent professor with clear lectures, accessible tutoring hours, and plenty of resources on Blackboard to help you succeed. At times he can go a bit fast (especially the last half of the semester). However, he makes up for this by the resources he provides on Blackboard and office hours. Absolutely recommend!
Am taking this course this summer and he does a great job teaching the content. He allows a one-page cheat sheet with formulas and examples on both sides for exams. One thing to caution about is that he does grade a bit tough because the exams are open book. However, he offers endless office hours, and videos to aid with the materail.
Easily one of the most kind, compassionate, and fun professors I have ever had. Relatively straightforward material that Professor Clark explains really well. He is incredibly accessible and will reply to nearly all emails within a day. Not to mention, he managed to make Applied Stats., a higher-level stat. course, a really intriguing course.
Prof. Clark is one of the kindest and caring professors I've had at UML. He cares about his student's success and is accessible outside class. Allows extensions under certain circumstances, is very understanding and easygoing—lots of lectures. Topics are easy to understand for the most part. He posts resources on Blackboard too. Show work on exams!
He was an excellent professor. I'm really weak in math and I found this class exceptionally challenging, but he took the extra time to offer me tutoring sessions, answered questions whenever I had them, and made the rough experience a little better. I would absolutely recommend him for anything.
Excellent and accessible professor! Gives video lectures and notes on Blackboard to help with homework and quizzes. Willing to give Zoom special classes to help with exams/final. Would adjust MML due dates if the class had trouble/off days. The 2 question quizzes were hit/miss, but all QR classes must have in class as mandated for all QR courses.
I did really badly in this class, but that was entirely on me. Professor Clark did everything he could to help me, up to and including approaching me outside class and asking me if I was doing okay otherwise when my grades sank. He's been consistently so helpful and friendly to all of us & learns our names despite the size of his classes
His lectures do get a little boring sometime but he is a nice guy who will help if you don't understand the work. his exams are very similar to the lectures and he does a lot of reviews and tutoring if needed
He's alright, classes were boring if you understood how to do everything. I didn't bother asking him any questions because he'd make it more confusing somehow. Just learned from the book, homework, and youtube. Attendance isn't really mandatory, but you might miss in class announcements here and there. Just take it for the easy credits not the prof
Professor Clark is an excellent stats teacher - he really cares about student success. Lectures are clear, and he offers tons of support through office hours and online resources. Quizard and ChatGPT were great study tools alongside the course materials. Challenging, but totally manageable with the right approach.
Prof Clark is truly an amazing person! All though his lectures are fast paced like any college class you would take he make sures the student success is his top priority. He wants all of us to do well and will have office hours to ask him anything. He makes YouTube videos going over the concepts learned in class.
Professor Clark was the professor in my field who cared about the success of each and every single student to make sure they understood material going on in the course. He is very accessible outside of class he often responds to emails when he gets the chance to and offers special classes to help prepare for the exam. Attend it to do well on Exams
Dedicated professor. Incredibly thorough in his explanations, and also emails all lecture notes! Hated the ALEKS homework, but his lecture videos (YouTube) as well his special classes/Office hours was wonderful and made this class manageable. Absolutely recommend, but be ready to study hard!
Requires the use of an expensive online textbook. Does not like when students leave the room unannounced. Three tests, homework in the online textbooks, and quizzes. Moves deadlines around frequently.
Easygoing professor and great class. Very kind and approachable as well! Be warned, his finals are nothing like the exams and many of my classmates failed it. Gives a lot of resources for homework as well as videos on how to do each Homework assignment. Great prof. to take if you are taking it for an elective.
hard to fail his class lmao
He's a sweetheart, don't get me wrong. He's super available tutoring daily, even weekends, lets us use cheat sheets, does exam prep calls. He really tries. But I genuinely can't focus. I sit in the front and still zone out. His monotone voice makes me sleepy. The way he teaches just doesn't work for me. It's just copy and paste notes from a doc.
My most flexible and helpful professor. He genuinely cares about us all and goes above and beyond. responds to late night emails, flexible with difficult homework deadlines, has extra classes to help us prepare for exams. he allows cheat sheets and gives exam reviews. patient and speaks slowly. Helped me back on track when I fell behind. Love him
Class fell behind schedule frequently, he sent a lot of emails. Would hold classes on snow days/days off.
Class is easy to pass if you make good papers to use for the test. Very lecture-heavy and doesn't explain things very well. Grading is weird. All he does is copy and paste notes onto the screens. Sends a ton of emails and still uses Blackboard. Nice guy, just wasn't a great class, he does offer a lot of tutoring basically every day.
Make sure to do your homework and quizzes as they're a big part of your grade. As for the professor, he's an easy person to talk to, but some might find it difficult. has a lot of personality. For some who may struggle on an exam, he may offer support and will even give you a pat on the shoulder, a friendly shake of the shoulders, or even a noogie.
An incredibly devoted instructor. Tough course! Despite this, he holds endless review sessions for exams, replies to emails no matter the time of day, and records all classes + resources for Homeworks/exams. Any complaints is because of the false expectation that it would be an easier course than one would like, and not because of his teaching.
Excellent online course! I've had this same man for a Calculus I course as well! Admittedly, his grading has gotten a bit more stringent from the first time I took him, which may disappoint some. However, his online lectures are excellent. He is also extremely accessible/caring. For instance, he'll reply (within minutes) to any emails. Recommended!
