Awesome Professor!!! I loved his class! He is very funny and makes history interesting! You must attend class, but I never dreaded going! Just take notes, study, and it helps to read, but I didn't much! Quizzes help for tests! Overall he was awesome! I took history 105 and 106 with him!
I loved this class! I had it at 8 am but loved going to class. He is a sweet, funny and cute old man that loves teaching. And he genuinely cares about his students! The class wasn't hard. There are 3 textbooks, but I didn't read any of them and still had a high B- Low A all year!
Absolutely loved Dr. Collopy's class! I took 106 with him and loved him so much I switched into his 105 class. He is a really funny guy from New York who loves what teaching. Quizzes are online and can be taken in groups. He is a genuine guy who actually cares about his students. Get to know him!
He is so so cool! Enjoyed going to his class! Definitely keep up with the reading though because it helps a lot in the success in this class!
GREAT PROF. Completely recommend if you can get in his class. LOVED LOVED LOVED his class. He really really cares about his students. Group quizzes. no essays. An inspiring man, for sure....I highly recommend him. Wish everyone could be in his class(:
Awesome prof! All you have to do is go to class.
The best prof I have ever had! He's hilarious and straight forward. I came in dreading taking history (not really my cup of tea), but he made me enjoy going to class. I made sure that I got him for next semester for HIST105. Highly recommend taking him.
Collopy is by far the BEST professor I've had at A&M. Lectures are always interesting, tests are easy if you go to class and all online quizzes are encouraged to be taken with others. He's so funny and very engaging. You can feel that he really cares about his students and loves his job. If you can get into his class, TAKE HIM.
He's very funny and super entertaining. All you really have to do is go to class and take notes! The quizzes are fairly easy and he does encourage group work. Class is mandatory. Would highly recommend taking him!
BEST Professor! Truly cares for his students and wants everyone to succeed in his class. Recommends taking the online quizzes together and makes class interesting!! Easy A!
This prof is the best! I took him for both History 105 and 106, and would take him again if he taught anything else. Attendance is mandatory to pass, but he makes it completely worth it to come to class. I highly recommend him! His classes fill up fast so don't miss out!
I absolutely loved taking Collopy's class this semester. Very easy to listen and learn from. He plays music while everyone's taking their seat and the guy is super funny. He encourages working on quizzes together and his tests consist of mostly previous quiz questions. Classes of his fill up super super fast, however.
Collopy is an awesome professor!! Take him! Attendance is required He gives 3 test, no final and quite a few really easy online quizzes. I never opened the textbook. Everything is from his power points. He encourages you working together for all the quizzes. He cares about the students and is really funny. Show up for class, take notes.
I absolutely loved Dr. Collopy's class! He is hilarious! Tests are very straight forward and completely based on lecture. Attendance is mandatory and effects your grade. Take good notes and you will get all the information you need to ace exams and online quizzes. Easy and super enjoyable class! You don't even have to open the textbook
Dr. Collopy was the only person to make History pretty easy for me to remember and understand. I was never good at History or memorizing things, but it was easy to memorize what he said because he was so interesting. Attendance is mandatory, and if you have less than three unexcused absences, he'll add two points to your final grade.
Professor Collopy is great. He is hilarious during lecture but he gets the job done. He goes pretty fast, but the quizzes and tests come straight from the lecture and readings so if you manage to take notes you will be fine. You don't really need to read the textbook and he makes that known at the beginning of the semester. Easy A.
Professor Collopy is the best! I had him for History 105 & am currently in his 106. He is hilarious and it's an extremely easy A. I can honestly say that Dr. Collopy is the best teacher I have had and probably will ever have at A&M.
Class is filled with student-athletes! (including myself :) However, not as easy as everyone says. Still need to study. DONT COME TO CLASS LATE! HE WILL CALL YOU OUT! No cumulative final or any essays! Overall, an awesome experience! TAKE HIS CLASS! BEST HISTORY PROF AT TEXAS A&M!
Easy easy A. Just show up, pay attention, take good notes, and study what he tells you to study for exams and you're golden. He takes attendance for a grade and DO NOT be late or he will call you out and embarrass you. Best professor anyone could ask for. Lectures are worth going to even if it's an 8 am. TAKE COLLOPY IF YOU CAN.
I really like Collopy for 105, taking his 106 course next semester! Lectures can seem long and boring but he adds his own humor and makes it fun. Tests are 40 questions, mainly multiple choice and do not change much each semester. I had a friend that had taken the course already and gave me materials and that helped A TON. Quizzes mainly online!
He's hilarious! I hate history, but I enjoyed going to class because of him. He tells awesome stories, and cares so much about students. The quizzes are online & he always suggested we should take them together so we would make 100s! His first test caught me by surprise, because I expected it to be really easy. Read the books & study your notes.
Tests are noncumulative and come straight from the lectures and videos. Multiple movies are watched in class. He is actually very good at lecturing over the material. I usually hate taking history, but this was my favorite class this semester. Definitely recommend him.
The 8am history class for Collopy was worth it! He made lectures interesting and kept students awake. He truly cares about their well being and makes expectations clear throughout the course. All of the exams and online quizzes were very straightforward. Make sure you go to class because there are up to 3 bonus point for attendance!!
Dr. Collopy is THE BEST! He genuinely cares about his students. I am not a history person but I really enjoyed this course because of him. His course consists of online quizzes and 3 tests, all non cumulative. I would recommend going to visit with him in office hours just because he is interesting to talk to. Hands down favorite professor.
I dreaded taking History which is why I waited til senior year, but he made the 8am classes fun and very enjoyable! I learned so much from this Viet Veteran and retired policeman, he appreciates life and all of his students. He shows history through movie excerpts (ex. Born of the 4th of July by Tom Cruise) and tells us really interesting stories!
Wow wish all professors could be like this man. History is typically one of my least favorite classes. Until I took this course. He is an incredible lecturer and it's worth getting up at 8 AM for, no doubt. He is very clear in what he wants you to know and his grading criteria is clear. Not to mention a hilarious guy. 10/10.
The most amazing professor...I'm not interested in history at all, but Dr. Collopy always makes it fun! Just go to class (He takes attendance) and DO NOT BE LATE. He'll interrupt his own class to call out a student who's late (always funny). Also don't talk during class. Just show him respect, and he'll make your life wonderful.
read notes you'll get an A
It is mandatory to show up to his 8 am class, but this will be the easiest A you will ever receive. All the quizzes are group quizzes, and the tests are super easy. He tells you what is going to be on them, and does not try to trick you with them.
Literally best professor ever. If you don't take this class you're missing out. Easy A. Super entertaining. I never slept during class and it was an 8am. 3 tests, just review what he says and you'll get an A. Quizzes are online. You get to watch movies in class. 10/10 would take again and again.
Attendance is mandatory, but he gives you all the answers for the exams so I didn't mind showing up. He is a really great professor and honestly cares if people learn. Easy A if you go to class and look over notes once before the exams.
Dr. Collopy is an enthusiastic old man that loves to tell students about history. I took him for both HIST 105 and 106. You do need to study some for his exams, but if you write everything from his slides down, you don't need the textbook. The extra little books are needed for online quizzes in which he ENCOURAGES student collaboration. LOVED HIM!
He's an enthusiastic old prof that loves to tell about HIST. Don't let him scare you; he's sweet. I had him for both 105 and 106. You need to study some for his exams, but if you write everything from his slides down, you don't need the textbook. The extra little are needed for online quizzes in which he ENCOURAGES student collaboration. TAKE HIM!
I don't like history but this guy makes it fun. I wish I had him for HITS105 as well. If you can take his class, take it without hesitation. Almost 80% of the class make As. If you have perfect attendance by the end of the semester, you get 3% extra to your final grade. Online quizzes, and you can find answers on Quizlet.
No papers, quizzes are online on quizlet, tests questions come from his old tests and lectures. Makes class super interesting. 80% make A's and 3 points on semester average if you have perfect attendance, but takes away points off your semester average if you skip more than 4 times. Definitely take him if you can!
my fav guy. take!
Amazing prof, legitimately cares about his students. Lectures are extremely entertaining, and he often includes stories from his own life. Encourages students to take online quizzes in groups. Attendance is mandatory, but honestly I wouldn't want to skip, because he makes the class fun. Very respectful of students and treats us fairly.
I haven't liked history pretty much ever, but Mr. Collopy made the class interesting, but didn't make us read the textbook or boring books (however there were quizzes over the books assigned) which is what I normally hate about history classes. He is one of the nicest and funniest professors I know, and I would definitely take him again.
Dr. Collopy is by far the best history teacher to take. Super easy class if you show up and take notes. I would only study a day before a test and always got 90's and above. You watch cool movies as well. You get extra points at the end for never missing and can take a class survey for extra points too. Wants you to do quizzes together with people.
Dr. Collopy is a bro. He cares about his students and really seems happy when we do well. His class is worth taking at 8am but try not to miss. His quizzes are mostly online, and are not too difficult. The tests are similar to the quizzes, very doable. I wish more professors were like him.
Dr. Collopy is such a cool professor! TAKE HIM! He only teaches 8 ams which is hard, but its worth it for the class. Mostly all of the quizzes are online, and the tests are the same type of questions as the quiz and the review. His lectures are sometimes boring and you do have to put some work into preparing for the exams, but totally worth it!!
pretty solid choice (im a history buff). show up to class, read the material, take notes, group -up on his quizzes, get an A. Basically, if you care about your grades at all, there's no valid reason not to get A in this course... Ol' Collopy sets you up for success. genuinely a good guy that wants to help you succeed.
Professor colony is THE BEST!! Class was mandatory but so worth it. He cares a lot about his students and is hilarious. I would take him again any day.
I loved Dr. Collopy! He's the best history prof you could ever have. Go to class, take notes, take all quizzes, study for tests, and you'll get an A. If you go to every class, you get 3% added to your final grade. Quizzes are online and you can work together(most of them are on Quizlet) Do not disturb the class by talking or he's gonna pick on you.
Dr. Collopy is a real A&M treasure. I feel bad for people that don't get to experience his class. He makes it really hard to not get an A. He is funny, caring and knows so much about history. Take him. Take him. Take him.
Great prof. Take good notes, study them the day before the test and you're fine. Book quizzes are online and he loves when you work together on them. No textbook, but some readers. Didn't read, made an A. Gives extra credit for attendance, but understands if you have to miss a day.
TAKE THIS CLASS!! Collopy is easily my favorite prof at A&M. He's hilarious, and he LOVES what he does. He has so much fun with lectures, and he's extremely passionate about the subject. His grading criteria is very clear and the tests are easy, I made above a 95 on all 3. No final, and he encourages group work on quizzes! TAKE HIM!
Collopy is an amazing professor. He truly cares for each student and it shows. Show up to class and you will get an A. He makes it easy to be successful. Don't let an easy A get away from you because of laziness.
Professor Collopy is very well reviewed on this website, but I can ensure you that he is even better than advertised. I've taken him for both HIST 105 and HIST 106, and all things considered he is easily the best professor I've ever had. Attendance is mandatory, but he is very generous with excusing absences. Do not take another HIST 105/106 Prof.
This is by far the easiest class I have taken at A&M. He is a really nice guy and purposefully makes it easy to get an A. Tests and quizzes are easy, and attendance can add points to your final grade. Highly recommend this class!
Dr. Collopy is hands down one of the best professors at A&M. You HAVE to show up to class, but his lectures are interesting and you get credit for just being there! Don't be late to class and don't be on your phone or talking in class because he really does not appreciate that. Show him respect and life is easy in this class.
Collopy is one of the most loving professors out there. He cares so much about his students and makes sure they know that. Don't show up to his class late, don't talk in class, and don't be on your phone. He will call you out for doing any of the above. You must go to class, but trust me you'll want to go to class. Easy A if you do
Dr. Collopy deserves to have his own statue on campus. He is the GOAT. Cannot explain the greatness of this man until you have taken one of his courses. GUNG HO!
If you don't skip, you get +3 points added to your final grade. Skip 3+ times, you lose points. There were 3 exams, each 40 multiple choice. If you study 1-2 days before the exam, you should get an A. The quizzes are not bad since you can work with your chums (Gung Ho!). Dr. Collopy cares deeply for history and us, making him an amazing professor.
Dr. Collopy is a great professor. I took both his 105 & 106. There are roughly 10 online quizzes over lectures/readings. He plays videos pretty often in his class, which were pretty interesting. The tests in 106 seemed a bit more difficult than 105. If you can manage to get a spot, take him. This world needs more people like Dr. Collopy.
His classes are usually at 8 am. If you are not a morning person, then don't take his class. Otherwise, you just need to go through quizlet notes to ace in his class. Definitely one of the kindest lecturer I have ever seen.
amazing professor. exams are based on lectures and quizzes, and the class before he lists everything you need to study for the exam. quizzes are collaborative/on quizlet. minimum effort will get you an A. just be prepared to set your alarm.
Promise you its worth taking an 8am. 3 tests not too bad. Lists everything that will be on the test the class before. Don't skip class you get extra credit for attendance. Do the eval at the end also worth extra credit. Awesome teacher, even better person. Take time to go into office hours- such a cool guy!!
We can all agree that 8 AMs are the worst, but Collopy makes them worth it. I have nothing but respect for this adorable human being. He seems tough, but he cares so much about his students. His lectures are interesting, and they made me like history! Oh, and did I mention I literally have a 100 in the class? Take Collopy, you won't regret it.
This is a must take HIST Prof.
Collopy is absolutely amazing, you need to take him. He's so caring, and lets you work together on quizzes. You have to show up even after the final, but honestly, go! it's so worth it!
Listen up you Chipmunks! If you're going to take HIST 105/106 I HIGHLY recommend you taking it with Collopy. The man is one of a kind, he makes class worth it even if its an 8 AM. He's a very caring man and lets you work with your Chums on quizzes. GUNG HO! But seriously, take it with him! You won't regret it.
One of the best professors A&M has to offer. Highly recommend taking him. It's easy as long as you put in a few hours on Quizlet the night before your quiz. Collopy makes the 8AM worth it. Genuinely cares about his students and their wellbeing!
If you have the chance to take Dr. Collopy for either 105 or 106 and do not take it, that is a huge mistake. This man cares more about his students than any professor I have ever known. If you listen in class and take good notes his tests are easy, he allows group help on quizzes (Gung Ho), and shows movies in class that really help you understand.
If you need to take HIST 105/106, take this professor! He truly cares about his students and is super amazing. Easy A, just take good notes and go to class, the 8 am is worth it. I cannot recommend this professor enough, he's seriously one of the best!
Collopy genuinely loves and cares for his students. This class is so easy I didn't read a single textbook or monograph and made above 95 on every test. Do not take this class if you are prone to skipping 8ams or showing up late. He will call you out. He adds points to your grade if you don't miss but takes away points if you do. His lectures rock!
Professor Collopy was an awesome professor. He is a super genuine and kind guy who really cares for his students. He gives you all the information you need for quizzes and tests, doesn't try to trick you. It is really your own fault if you don't get an A in this class, everything is provided, it just requires effort.
Collopy is an incredible man. He currently has a system where if you do not miss any classes (you sign in) then you get bonus points on your grade at the end of the semester. But if you miss more than 3 classes you start getting grade deductions. He spends the entirety of class lecturing, but if you go to class everyday and take notes you get an A
Love him it's easy but you also learn so much it is a great environment!
Dr. Collopy is my favorite professor at TAMU. His class is so enjoyable, and very easy! He cares so much about each and every one of his students, and his lectures are easy to understand and clear cut. He tells you everything you need to know for the test the class before. TAKE HIM!!
As an engineering student that generally hates history, this was my favorite class this semester. Dr Collopy is probably one of the most inspiring and hilarious professors I've ever had. He makes the class interesting and enjoyable, but also understands it's not everyone's favorite subject, so he makes it really easy. Don't skip!
Collopy is one of the best professors on campus. Attendance is mandatory and you better show up on time. I thought lectures were very engaging. Homework and exams are straightforward - he lets you know what to expect so don't waste your time studying elsewhere. Spend time reading the assigned books or expect a low grade on those assignments.
I love Dr. Collopy. His class is entertaining and it's super easy to get an A. I feel like I learned more in his class than in high school too. History is really not my subject but if you show up to every class you get 3 additional points added to your final grade! His grade distribution is like 80% A's as well.
I loved taking HIST 106 with this professor. He's such a great professor that it's hard to get into his class since he's so popular. He really cares about what he teaches and he's really funny in class. The exam are straight forward and I would recommend taking this class 100%
Collopy is THE BEST HISTORY PROF!!! Yes, 8am classes suck, but you wont regret taking him. He has 3 exams and 12 quizzes. All super easy if you attend his lectures and take notes. His exams are totally from lecture and he will tell you exactly what you need to know. Attendance is mandatory, but there is extra credit involved! Gung Ho!!
Dr. Collopy is the best professor that I will probably ever have in my college career. I am not a fan of history, but I loved his lectures and taking the 8am class was well worth it. He is extremely caring and it shows in so many ways. 3 tests, 10 quizzes, and extra credit if you go to class (perf attendance 3 whole points to overall grade)
I LOVE HIM. Take him if at all possible! His lectures were funny and he gives in-depth reviews and his class isn't necessarily a grade worry. Attendance is mandatory but you get bonus points for going.
The best prof at A&M. He is very caring and knows his material. I have learned so much from his class. He gives extra points on your entire semester grade just for showing up to his classes. The class is usually an 8am, but very worth it. I wish I could have taken more classes from him. If you can grab a spot in his class, DO IT!
Dr. Collopy was my favorite professor that I have ever had the honor of taking at Texas A&M! He was strict, but well respect and has a genuine heart and passion for what he does.
Collopy is an ex-marine from the Bronx and is such a funny dude. You definitely need to go to class for the attendance points, but as long as you write down what's on the slides you'll do fine. He wants to make sure you actually learn, so his tests are exactly what's on the review, but just make some flashcards and you'll get an A. He's the best!
Collopy is one of the best professors at Texas A&M!! He truly cares about his students and makes every lecture interactive and entertaining. I never used the textbooks or extra books and made an A just by showing up. He gives extra credit for perfect attendance so go to every lecture so you don't lose points.
Dr. Collopy is great. You have to show up to class early or he will call you out for being late. He does take attendance so you have to show up for class. He is very fair and allows group quizzes. Great lectures. Love when he lectures about Vietnam since he fought in that war. Great guy.
Professor Collopy is one of the best professors I've taken here at A&M. He is super fair and tells you exactly what is going to be on the test with no trick questions. The only thing that does suck is that attendance is a grade but if you can get up and go to class then you should definitely take this class it's super easy.
Great professor but you have to show up to class early or he'll call you out. 3 exams + no final, 10 online quizzes. Exams are easy since they are mostly based off the online quizzes.
Main points: Weekly online quizzes, answers can be found online. Three exams, study the quizzes and viewing guides. Go to class, you can only miss two classes to maintain you grade. If you are never absent, you get 3 points extra credit. You can loose up to 2 letter grades if you are absent more than 5 times. 100% Recommend; Great prof!
I love this prof so much! He offers 3 extra credit points if you show up to every class, and attendance is mandatory. If you miss one class you get 1 extra point, and if you miss after that he takes points off. Easy A and fun to learn with him.
Dr. Collopy truly cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He takes off points from your final grade if you miss class so you have to go to class. He makes his lectures interesting and is passionate about teaching. The tests are easy and he wants everyone to get an A.
I hated history now I don't. Taking Dr. Collopy's class with do that to you! I absolutely loved taking HIST 106 with Dr. Collopy! He only has 8am classes (mandatory) and sometimes it's REALLY hard to wakeup, but do it because this is probably the easiest A ever!
Go to class, take notes, study his review, get a hundred! Super awesome lectures.
Alright you chipmunks, listen up. Holy schmuda, this class was fantastic! Everything about this course was terrific! Professor Collopy is a fantastic individual and excellent instructor! By far my favorite class and professor here at TAMU. Gung Ho! Gung Ho! Gung Ho!
I never thought I would be upset for a class to end, but I was for this class. Collopy is everything you could ask for in a prof. He truly loves his students and his job. He wants you to get an A in the class, show up and you will! 3 tests and no final, 9 total quizzes (open note/work together on all!). Only teaches an 8 AM but SO worth it!!!
Dr. Collopy has a very strict attendance policy for an 8am class and doesn't stand for goofing around or tardiness. If you show up every day and put in minimal effort you will make an A. Test still require studying, but going over a quizlet for a day or 2 will do. This is the most caring professor I have ever had, you won't regret taking this class
You will not regret taking this class. Super easy and Collopy is the sweetest, just don't be late to class.
I could literally cry because of how amazing this prof is. I learned so much about history and in the meantime got to know what of the greatest gems TAMU has to offer. A million words could not describe how awesome this man is. Love him sm, TAKE HIM!
Dr. Collopy is a national treasure, and probably the most caring professor here. If you can, wait to take this class until you have the chance to take him, it's worth it even if it's a 8 am. He calls you out if you're asleep or late, but always jokingly. Also just FYI buying the books is not really necessary (never opened one whole semester)
AMAZING professor
Dr. Collopy is an amazing human. He is a great professor and all his exams are so similar to his quizzes. These quizzes are meant to be collaborative. Attendance does count and his class is only offered at 8am but its worth it! I will be taking him for HIST 106 next semester!
Excellent professor. Everyone should take him! The only downside is that attendance is mandatory. After three abscesses, it starts to effect your final grade up to a letter grade. Exams are just the quizzes.
Amazing Professor. really cares about his students. Classes are at 8 AM and attendance is required because it affects grade. up to three skips before it hurts you. Quizzes are all online, tests are basically quizzes. Everyone should take him for any history class
Easiest class taken at A&M. All you have to do is show up and pay a little bit of attention to his lectures and you will pass. Lectures are interesting and he is not afraid to say what he wants.
I LOVED Dr. Collopy. He makes 8ams well worth it. Super funny and sarcastic. He offers bonus points/deducts points to your final grade based on attendance, so make sure you attend class. His lectures are easy to follow and note. He gives you an outline of what to know the class before the exam. As long as you study the list, it is an easy A.
He's so awesome! 8ams are rough but his music at the beginning of lecture makes it a little more bearable. His lectures can sometimes go back and forth, but he reviews everything that could be on the test the class before, which helps a lot! Overall, GREAT PROFESSOR
Dr. Collopy was an amazing professor! At first, I thought he was rude because he would call our students who came in late and embarrass them. However, he always said its easy to be mean and then become nice which is exactly what he did! He is extremely caring, inspirational, and wants every student to succeed. Please take him!
I can't add much more than what has already been said about Dr. Collopy. All I'll say is that on the final day of classes, both he and I teared up a little bit after our departure. That hasn't happened to me in any class ever. Thank God History is a mandatory class. Otherwise I would've missed out on the best professor in the world.
One of my favorite profs. 3 tests and 10 quizzes. quizzes are exactly like the test. loved him. he is the lovable kind of rough. cracked jokes. If you walk in late, he will call you out. quizzes and tests were easy. very inspirational and cared about his students. i don't like history but i learned a lot more than i ever knew. definitely take again
He is the BEST prof at A&M. Hands down
Definitely in my top 5 profs at TAMU. I have been holding off history till my last semester and I took it with him. Amazing person and I have learned a lot from him. The hardest part about this class is waking up early because it is an 8 AM class. Literally, show up, copy down his slides, and gung ho (you will get it once you go to class). Easy A!
One of my favorite professors I've had while at TAMU. He comes off very strict in the beginning, but it is him truly caring for your success in the class and life. Didn't need to read anything, pretty easy to get an A. Highly highly recommend, well worth getting up early for this 8am. Just don't show up late, he'll call you out in class!
He's a great professor. His exams are a reflection of his lectures. I never opened a book that was required. He gives extra credit for attendance. Do not show up late though if you don't want to get called out
Best history prof at TAMU. Awesome guy, loves telling stories and yelling at people who are late. No need to buy the required books or take notes. Someone will post quiz answers in the groupme (he encourages working together) so all you really have to do is study the quizzes cause the exam is exactly the same questions. Show up on time and enjoy!
I do not have any background in History but Dr. Collopy made sure to make the class very interesting. We would watch historical movies and I LOVED IT! it made the class more interesting. He is an amazing professor and really cares about his students. I loved this class with Dr. Collopy.
Dr. Collopy is such a genuine man, he always makes class interesting one way or another. His lectures may seem long but they are interesting. He tends to teach 8ams which can be a bummer but times passes by so fast in his class. You'll come out of that class feeling like a strong woman/man.
Collopy is a TAMU legend. If you can take him, do it. Everything is extremely doable, but be prepared to be at every class and be on time. Tests are not bad if you study some; there are tons of quizlets online to review and you can look over your old quizzes. Do that and you're golden. There is extra credit for not missing any classes.
Dr. Collopy is absolutely amazing! One of the best profs at A&M and he genuinely cares about all of his students. If you show up to class, take the online quizzes, and study a tiny bit before the exams you are pretty much guaranteed an A. Took him for 105 in the fall and will be taking him for 106 in the spring! A great choice.
Dr. Collopy's class was by far my favorite at A&M so far. This man cares so much about his students and has an interesting background that he likes to talk about. This class is not challenging at all, but you do have to show up because attendance is mandatory. So sad my semester got cut short with Dr. Collopy because of coronavirus:(
Professor Collopy is super ecstatic and loves teaching his students. He cares a lot and makes his class easy to pass. All he asks is for you to show up to lecture because he really enjoys teaching and wants us to appreciate American history. I loved listening to him lecture, even at 8 am.
Attendance is mandatory but the lectures are interesting and sometimes we would watch movies. Collopy is very entertaining and he really cares about his students, not just their learning but their wellbeing too! He is a real gem. Weekly quizzes are online and exams include questions from the quizzes.
Collopy is by far one of my favorite profs at tamu and his class is the only 8am worth taking. He cares about his students and makes lectures interesting he even puts music before class to make sure you're awake. Attendance is mandatory because after a few you lose points on your overall grade but it's so worth taking!
Dr. Collopy is an amazing professor!! He he cares so much about his students and gives amazing lectures. If you show up to class every day, you are guaranteed at least a B. You can get an A by simply taking the quizzes seriously and reviewing a little before each exam. Probably spent 4 hours total working outside class for the whole semester.
Professor Collopy is such a kind soul and amazing at what he does. He loves all his students and his classes are easy, but if you skip you'll lose credit and won't pass. Class is just 3 tests which we go over the topics the class before the test. Attendance is mandatory, but his class is so worth it. Truly one of the greatest professors ever.
Bill Collopy is a legend and for good reason. I was lucky enough to have him for both 105 and 106. He's the most passionate teacher I've ever had and his enthusiasm for history makes it so worth it to go to his 8 AM lectures. Take him if you can.
You will have to attend class, but that's never a big deal. His lectures are important, but fun, and he expects you to listen. DO NOT be late. You will be crucified if you are. He is an excellent prof and you will get extra credit just for showing up. Tests are pretty easy if you put in even the slightest work studying. Easy A.
Dr. Collopy is the best chump out there ! He is the most sweetest prof I have had and his class is very easy. He is very passionate about history and his lecture truly show that. On top of that he really cares for his students. This online/pandemic semester he told us that we (his students) and his family were the most important thing for him rn.
He's really a great guy and professor. The quizzes are able to be worked on as a class and the exams were were pretty much the quiz questions reworded. You can 100% on all quizzes and 84% on the exams and get an A. Then there's an extra credit survey at the end that adds one point to your ovr grade. Just cram the night before and some before exam.
Professor Collopy is the best history professor at Texas A&M. He is caring, funny, supportive, and really enjoys teaching what he teaches. His 8 ams are the only ones I will wake up for. If you take Collopy, you will not regret it. Amazing professor.
One of the nicest profs ever! Cares about students. Will email you but doesn't answer questions during lectures because he has a hard time hearing you. Best history prof you could ask for and wish I needed more classes of his!
Dr. Collopy is awesome. There are weekly quizzes, two exams, and no final. He encourages you to work together on the quizzes, and the tests are almost exactly from the quizzes. The only work I did outside of class was taking the quizzes (average of 20-30 mins) and studying for the tests. I spent no more than 10 hours doing work for this class.
