Do yourself a favor and take this class. You will learn more things than you ever imagined and he makes it easy for you to understand. One of the best prof. I have ever had. And he's hilarious too.

Courter is one of the best professors I've ever had. His class is worth your time and your money. He's laidback, funny as hell, and is always helpful w/ his students.

i took mr. courter's 100 lab class. if you want a professor that will entertain you, this is the guy for you. he spends half the class talking about geo and half the class about whatever is on his mind. his tests are kind of hard, make sure you study!

Courter's classes are some of the best classes I have ever taken. You will learn a great deal in them and I highly recommend him. He gives fabulous notes, difficult test but if you study you will do well. He is very dynamic

Well traveled and therefore well suited to teach this class. His stories are highly interesting and entertaining, his tests aren't terribly difficult... DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT WASTING MONEY ON THE TEXTBOOK. Just get yourself a good atlas, buy the multi-colored pen he recommends, and take GOOD notes!

He is well read and has traveled all over the world, so he knows what he's talking about, but his best quality is his ability to teach the subject in a way that makes it stick to you. It's true, he is one of the best professors ever. You learn a lot and always look forward to going to his class. He makes you want to travel the world, but the downside is that his exams are kind of hard and you have to memorize "every single country in the world" Seriously! But it's possible.

Funny ass teacher. One of the most amazing teachers i ever had. What i like about him was that he was fair and taught us life lessons that can be aplicable in todays world. Best story i ever heard from him (actually a couple): That he never answers the door without his gun in Lakewood. Also the time that he was in Hong Kong and the pilot of the plane waited till the last second to get off the ground that 1/2 the plane was over the ocean at the end of the runway and the other 1/2 was still on the runway!

I loved his class; it was a lot of fun and very interesting. He teaches the subject very well, and he is very funny as well. If you don't like geography you will with his class.

I've been a college student for about five years now. I've been through two community colleges and a university. He remains the best teacher I've taken. His stories alone are worth the work you must do to get an A. If your not laughing ass of during his lectures, check you pulse. All his classes are good, but world geography is a must.

You will learn a lot. Oh, and his tests are not hard, you just have to take really good notes (don't buy the expensive textbook - we barely used it!).

Entertaining & informative 4 sure, but be ready 2 work hard! Class is never let out early & your hand will be cramping by the end due 2 all of the notes. The exams r tricky & require intensive study from both notes & textbook. There is always an essay question. Attendance matters. U will enjoy his many stories, sense of humor, & willingness 2 help.

This teacher made the subject so interesting that I earned a degree in Geography. Don't bother with the book, just take really good notes and study for all the map quizes. Especially helpful if you're taking a world history class, as it gives you an idea of what makes certain cultures tick. You can't go wrong with this one!

Great teacher. Definitely knows what he is talking about. He's funny, his tests are hard, but he lowered his grading scale, so u get a "C" at 64% instead of at 70. His lab class was easy too, i passed with a "B" and i got "C's" on his tests. Awesome teacher.

As most of the comments have already pointed out, he is by far the best professor I have ever had. Most large university professors don't care as much as he does in your success (plus, their grad students do most of the work). Courter told me once that he decided to teach community college for this reason.

This guy is awesome. He has by far been the best and most enthusiastic professor I have had at SAC by far. He is on a whole different level of teaching and knows his stuff. His life is about travelling and Geography and his stories are hysterical and make you want to get out and travel. You do have to study and take notes but it is totally worth it

Courter is awesome! Really, he is. He knows geography- he's been all over the world which is why he always has a great (funny) story to go with every lecture. His tests aren't easy if you don't study. Tests are based on class lecture so go every day. He also gives study guide two weeks before tests, so there is really no excuse for not passiong. Xt

Courter: Funny, Knowledgeable- travels the world, AWESOME. Class: Not easy if you don't attend class because then you won't be able to take notes which make up about 85% of the test. Map Quizzes: Easy and if you pass all of them, you get extra credit points which come in handy at the end. Extra credit given for attending all class meetings. FUN CLA

Bill is by far the best professor I have taken so far. He's extremely animated and sucks you right into the world of geography. Extremely funny, talks about taking psychedelic drugs, he just keeps it real that's why I thought he was an awesome teacher. After taking this class I decided to switch my major to Geography.Thanks Bill!

Great teacher! Highly knowledgeable. Caustic humor makes lectures entertaining. Do not take if you're still a baby and need to be spoon fed without reading or taking notes. Excellent professor! He makes the material interesting and you really do learn a lot in this class. Exams are well prepped with his study guide sheet. There is a map, book quiz, and a lecture quiz for each region of the world. This is definitely a class to take if you need to fulfill your humanities GE requirement.

I have to admit...Ive been at SAC for 2 years and I never had a professor quite like Courter. He was just so great at teaching and so much fun. He lectures in a way that keeps you glue to the board. Great guy! Oh..and he loves the Lakers

Extremely awesome teacher! Loved this class it was fun, he always makes everything interesting. Make sure you take all notes down even side notes because you do need them for the tests.

Outstanding Teacher. He really made the class a lot of fun. He makes it easy to get a good grade in his class if you are willing to be there for each class, and do the work. I feel he should be rated much higher than he is. I highly recommend him.

Talks fast but repeats everything you need to know. If you incorrectly answer an essay question...it's definitely your own fault. He gives you the answers before the test; you just have to remember it.

This class is by far the toughest Professor Courter teaches (I took ALL his classes). He's fair, dynamic, & incredibly intelligent. You won't regret taking his class however, it helps to sit in the front, read ahead, record the lecture, & rewrite notes. He made me fall in love w/geography again.

Super easy class! All you have to do is memorize what he tells you for tests and quizes..then its an easy A. He also gives you the essays to memorize. Good Teacher!

Down to Earth and helpful. He knows plenty about things going on in the world and has a lot of stories from his trips. There are around 3 exams(includes essays) and 5 quizzes. He offers extra credit. The book isn't used unless if you want the extra credit. There are a lot of notes. It is a very interesting class.

Great teacher, and I do mean teacher. Courter goes beyond the average when it comes to educating. Knows & is passionate about his subject, explains it clearly, and takes pride in teaching it. He's the standard to what a teacher should be. Take him. Tests do require you to study; the text books help, but I got an A without them in all his classes.

He is an awesome teacher. If you show up to class then you pass the class. His test are basically from the Lectures, so don't skip a day or else its hard to catch up. He does go a little fast, but shows passion to what he is teaching, which makes the class interesting. Another thing is that he is kind of strict in manners.

Courter was one of the best teachers at SAC he teaches the material with clarity. His tests aren't difficult if you study. Like he says in his class "this isn't a sociology class where you can just come in, not study and get an A." His grades are from his tests and quizzes and attendance. If you take notes and learn the terms you will be fine!

Professor Courter is very hilarious. He's gonna make you feel relaxed in this vague class. However, exams are quite rating your IQ I've got an A due to reading every single word in the book carefully and drawing what I don't understand. Again, reading book is essential to get a high grade! Courter also gives lots of extra credit so good luck!

Lectures are pretty amazing and spoton on what to study from. A lot of memorizing for the map quiz but easy. Use the study guide to help with reading quizes(3). Exams you need to study. He gives you the answers for the essay questions basically memorize and write it back. Overall great class !

Definitely take him, perfect and easy for transfer credit. You will not regret it, study the vocab and take really good notes. If you do these two things you're bound to pass.

There are a lot of definitions to memorize for both 100 and 101 but some of those definitions are easy to memorize. I totally recommend to take his class.

What an amazing professor! Gladly would make the 1 1/2 hour commute to SAC just for his class. His passion for the subject truly inspired me. Keeps lectures on point but does it so that the class stays focused; he also lets you know what info to pay close attn to because it'll be on the test. For tests, you're allowed a 3x5 notecard to use as a cheat sheet, questions are based heavily on lectures, and lets you know what essay question will be on exam. Do the work, you'll get an A.

i took him for Geog 101 and the Geog 101L, his class will be hard if you don't take good notes. He keeps his lectures very interesting and funny by telling his life stories. he also gives 20 points extra credit if you come to class every day and another 20 points if you get 100% on all the map quizzes

He's Amazing! He's funny & breaks down everything for you to easily understand. He obviously loves what he does & helps you out a lot. Just show up to his lectures & you'll pass. Your only hw is basically to read the textbook but he explains everything so well it's not even necessary. Highly recommend!

By far my favorite professor, he always tells you specifically what's going to be on the test and really just wants to "facilitate your college career," so the class isn't really difficult. Test are HARD. You won't pass if you don't study. Make sure you write every single thing that comes out of his mouth. Pay attention to his stories because he usually ties them to the lecture. Fantastic professor overall ! He is very inspirational and cares about his students.

The tests are difficult, but the work is not difficult at all. Took during intersession and no regrets. Boost test scores and offers a lot of extra credit. He tells lots of stories and if you need help with anything just ask. He isn't out to get anybody. He wants you to pass. He told us he wants us all to at least get a C and pass.

Take all of your geography classes with Prof Courter. His lectures include interesting stories that relate to the lecture. He is passionate about geography and it will rub off on you. As long as you put the study time in, you will get a high grade in his class. Book and atlas were optional purchases.

Courter is a real chill dude, but this class IS DENSE. He helps make it digestible. He's a fungi and id really recommend him.

Quite possibly the best teacher I've had in my academic career, and this was completely online. He puts in a lot of energy and passion. As long as you watch the lectures and take decent notes, you will do well. Any homework given is pretty much free points.

I took professor Courter's class 100% online. He gives you all the resources for free. Lab worksheets are given every week but shouldn't take that long to finish if you pay attention to the reading and videos. quizzes every week but it's not hard if you do the lab worksheet. All in all, great and funny professor. really look out for extra credit!!!

Lectures are on Youtube about 5-10 videos a week, most of them are around 10 minutes, some over, some under. He is a great guy, the lectures are actually fun, he speaks about his traveling experiences. Watch all the videos, everything is covered in the tests. Tests are pretty difficult so go over every video and take notes before you take the test.

I took Geo101L with this professor online during the intersession and it was such a fun class. Although all the material is online, he made sure to interact with students and make his videos fun and clear. Hes good at getting back to you right away and his grading scale is pretty fair. Read ALL the material and you will find extra credit

Professor Courter was easily one of the most fun professors I have ever had for a course. Be sure prepared to watch his lectures because there are a lot of them but they are usually pretty short (under 10 minutes long). All the material covered is done in a fun and interesting way that is relevant to current environmental issues as well.

Professor Courter was great. There are lots of lectures every module that range from anywhere between 5-15 minutes long. Just make sure to watch the videos and take notes since the quizzes are based on those. He's funny and you can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches. No late work accepted but he provides plenty of extra credit.

Make sure to take PLENTY of notes. The exams are tough. I like the professor's enthusiasm about the subject, but not my cup of tea. It was a physical science requirement course for me. Pay attention to the emails. There is extra credit there.
