Prof Denton's class was by far the most interesting class I've taken so far. He is very helpful and funny, & isn't strict at all. Just go to the class, read the material, & take notes and you're good to go. If considering this class, I definitely urge you to take it. I know you'll love it. My class met one day a week for 3.5 hrs & I still loved it.

He's a good teacher. I took a night class, so 3 hours... But he made it go by fairly quick with many different teaching methods (lecture, discussion, movies, music, etc.). AND attendance not mandatory

Night class was entertaining for 2-3 the hours and the films were good. He had a nice sarcastic sense of humor and was fair to all viewpoints. His lectures were rather dry, but he complemented them nicely with film and music. He was also very easy, 2 tests, no papers, attendance was not mandatory. He basically spelled out all the material.

He treats his students as adults and peers - and always with respect. He encourages discussion. If you want a stadium lecture, this isn't the class for you. If you're a student of Pol Sci, I can't recommend enough.

To be honest, I find his lectures very annoying. He states the same thing over and over and makes lame jokes that just wastes time. However, I would recommend him as a teacher because the syllabus is fairly easy and he seems to be a pretty fair grader. Do not expect to get out early in his night classes.

Great teacher. Uses a variety of different teaching tools. Interesting material and videos and the books were easy and fun to read. Moderate grader, but if you pay attention and do the readings tests are a breeze. There were 2 tests, 1 paragraph journal entries each week and a handful of other small papers. Easy teacher and good class.

Nice guy. His speaks quickly, and his lectures can be unclear. Keep up on the reading and his exams are easy. He gives you various ways to get good grades, and he is more than willing to help if you ask. He's kind of funny too. Attendance required and he grades on participation. Going to take him again this quarter.

Loved this class. It was interesting and Denton really makes it worthwhile. I admit that the class is hard for some if you don't know hot to properly write a paper but otherwise he's a pretty easy grader. Denton enjoys discussion and is clear and concise toward his students. Midterm/Final were harder but he gives you the majority of questions.

I love Prof. Denton! He's such a nice guy. He also is incredibly reasonable as a teacher. If you are at all interested in Foreign Policy, this class is really eye opening and Denton is the man to teach it. Do the readings, there are only a couple a week, very manageable. He's my fav!!!

Denton is hilarious. He is so down-to-earth and understanding. Read the textbook - as much as it isn't discussed in class, it will be on the exam. Turn in homework on time and pay attention. Attendance is optional, but you get extra points for being there so you might as well go. Overall, very interesting class!

Overall, a good introductory level course. Professor cares about you learning and is pretty accommodating. Textbook is a must read and is not always discussed in class. Highly recommended professor

Very nice guy. Makes material interesting. He covers a lot of material but makes it very manageable.

Fantastic professor. Structures his classes to include both lectures and class discussions - really encourages students to debate different topics and explore the implications of the material. If you have any interest in international affairs and global security politics, this is a great course that covers a lot of the major topics.

Professor Denton is a great teacher who really cares about everyone. The class isnt so hard as long as you do all the reading which isnt really talked about in class but it will be on your midterm and final.

Professor Denton is a riot. His lectures are entertaining and thought-provoking. His midterm was really difficult, you need to study a lot to do well. He is more than willing to help you and gives point back opportunities to those he thinks need them.

Professor Denton is wonderful! He is knowledgeable and makes the content relatable and easy to learn for students. Definitely recommend taking a class with him. There's plenty of work that will keep you busy but it is all relatively easy to do if you keep up with the class readings/

Overall a good intro course. Attendance is required (no excused absences). If you come to class and take notes and do the study guides, the midterm/final will be a breeze. Denton is really sweet and smart guy. Easy to follow lectures. 7 opinion essays that are one page but they are fun to write and easy. Great course and professor!

One of the best teachers here. He's lays out everything in the syllabus and really cares about teaching, provides accurate study guides for midterm and final! (and brings treats for the class for both)

Mr. Denton is an amazing teacher. As an adult student, he is very humorous and really loves his subject. Also he keeps you engaged and his assignments are easy. One of the best teachers I've had at Depaul (not many coming from a transfer student). Take his class if you love history and foreign policy! He needs a pay raise cause he's that good!

Mr. Denton is really knowledgeable and well organized about his subject. He uses d2l effectively and you can also read class notes from this website. There are one midterm and final which include optional questions and required questions. If you take his class, you will not be regretted. If you keep up with class, you will get a good grade for sure

Professor Denton is the best professor I've taken for an honors class. You get full credit just for completing assignments and he lets you choose when you want to give your presentation. Participation and attendance are kind of important. I definitely recommend taking him.

Interesting class, the homework is not strenuous. However, the midterm and final are hard. You will easily get A's on the homework and participation also boosts your grade, but the exams can bring you down. Overall helpful and positive professor though.

Professor Denton is my favorite teacher at DePaul! His classes are fantastic and entertaining. He follows his syllabus and always posts to d2l. Not a lot of homework. A few in class essays that are super easy and are opinion based. I've taken multiple classes with him. Take him if you can!

Denton's AFP class had pretty boring material (nature of the course), but he was a great teacher and I enjoyed listening to him. He was incredibly kind and approachable. Lots of mini assignments, mid-term and final is crucial to your grade, as are the 2 papers. He's a pretty easier grader and his exam study guides are really clear and helpful.

Engaging and funny. I would take again. Assigns a bit of reading, but you can still do well without doing much of it. Uses D2L religiously, puts all of the readings up and keeps them organized. I definitely recommend Professor Denton.

I've taken Denton three times. When I took PSC 140 with him and had a little trouble (freshman), but I met with him and he gave me some good study tips & I ended up passing the class with a B and took him again for PSC 242 and my capstone. His study guides are straight forward and the he gives you a lot choice on exam questions. Lots of movies!

I liked Denton. He's funny in a kind of weird way & explains the concepts thoroughly. Assignments are extremely easy & you get full credit just for doing them. You can get by without really doing the readings, but there are 3 4-5 point pop quizzes. He gives a study guide for the exams and all the lecture notes are on D2L. Good guy.

Best experience with a professor for an intro level class. Knows a lot about a lot, so if you ask questions you'll get an answer, guaranteed. Used the book frequently, had pages for homework every night, but if you don't read here and there the class discussion always summarizes the reading. 4 pop quizzes and a decent amount of typing every week.

You have reading responses due pretty much every class, so get ready to read from assigned readings/textbook but he legit gives you 100% on each one and probably only grades for completion. But I LOVE this class and denton, he inspired me to become a poli sci minor. Take him if you can and especially this class. I enjoy going to each class so much

Professor Denton is a southern belle, he's humorous and has a heart of gold. He can tell which students put in effort and which ones do. If you do put effort into the class, it will definitely pay off when he's grading your papers. Overall, he's pretty chill and a solid political science teacher.

Honestly, Denton is one of the best professors at DePaul. The class is overall really easy, only one or two actual papers and reading responses where he hands you an A for turning it in. However, the midterm and final require some studying in order to do well. Overall, great professor and I recommend him to everyone

Professor Denton is extremely knowledgable and allows students to learn a lot. He is easily reached outside of class (v. clear office hours, can prob reach by email easily). While his professionalism and expertise are fantastic, it has to be said that his character might be the #1 reason to take the class. He is HILARIOUS and great person.

Great teacher that is humorous, engaging, and goofy. He wants his students to pass, and gives ample opportunity to do so. Midterm and final are easy if you study- he gives a study guide containing everything on the tests. One "book club" over an interesting book. He lectures, but it doesn't make me want to fall asleep.

Lectures can be interesting or plain boring. He repeats a lot of what he says throughout the semester to get it in your head. He also likes it when people participate a lot. Very knowledgeable in his subject.

I've had the pleasure of taking 2 classes with Prof. Denton my last year at school and they were both great choices. He is not a Trump fan and jokes about him, but he is definitely fair when it comes to all opinions. For PSC 349, there's a lot of reading, but they are interesting and the papers reflect them. I enjoyed his Capstone class as well.

Lots of assignments and reading. However, interesting class. Never a dull day, he genuinely seems to enjoy what he does! His southern charm and big heart light up the room. He is so kind, compassionate, and has empathy for students and will go above and beyond to ensure you succeed if you put the effort forth! :)

TAKE HIM if you have the chance honestly. He's the best professor at Depaul University. He's funny and makes the class interesting. The class is really easy if you just do the homework. There are so easy to do so it's an easy A.

He is an amazing teacher. He has a clear guideline for what he expects tho the midterm and final are really lengthy and can be challenging but he makes it really easy to retain knowledge by having a ton of group discussions, videos & activities. Not a hard class, just take notes, show up and participate and you're good. Taking him next quarter too

Will Denton is the best professor at DePaul hands down. There's no way to not receive an A in this class. He offers extra credit just in case tho. 10/10 professor and guy. Get to know him and he'll write you recommendation letters too!

Professor Denton was amazing he does give a lot of assignments but he gives very clear instructions and none of them were impossibly hard. He also leaves a lot of time for open discussion in the class and lets everyone one share their opinion. If you have the chance take a class with him he's a great guy

This class was great! There were mini assignments due each class (talking point or reading response) but they were not hard and helped check that you were reading and understanding the material. His midterm and final are lengthy but he gives you a VERY thorough study guide and will mention in class when something is on the final (WRITE IT DOWN)

One of the best prof at DePaul Has a vast amount of knowledge and expertise 300 level classes have take home exams any level below typically have in-class exams Do readings Do all the assignments and you will do Fine. I took his introductory international politics course and loved it. Definitely a good transition course from high to college. Make sure you stay on top of the reading assignments and actively participate in class. He offers extra credit galore which is not typical of my other classes so take advantage of that as well.

Prof. Denton is one of the best professors I've ever had! he is so funny and sweet, he makes what is expected of you clear and reminds you of any upcoming assignments. there are a bunch of assignments due, but nothing too hard. he is very knowledgeable and makes class interesting and bearable. take him if you get the chance !!

There is a fair amount of busy work for this class as you're supposed to be writing a research paper throughout the class, but none of it is too hard. There is no midterm or final; the only major assignment is a ten page research paper at the end of the quarter. You can choose anything in IR to write about for this so it makes it more appealing.

Assignments due before every class. However, they're fairly short and very easily graded (100% for completion). He's funny and understanding. Solid choice but this isn't a class where you can just slack off and get an easy A. He WILL call on you during class, but I enjoyed the class. A is a 96, but overall very attainable

He is a great professor he does care about his lectures and wants everyone to have a good time. But if you are taking this class for an easy A that won't happen. There are 1-2 writing assignments every week. A lengthy Q&A for the assigned book and the final and midterm are mainly written answer.

Prof. Denton is a wonderful, nice guy. Really cares about students and has a great sense of humor. Take him if that matters to you, don't take him if you are ambivalent.

Prof. Denton is very easy going. You learn a lot if you pay attention and do the work. He grades things pretty easily so you might as well. It's easy to get an A put you have to be willing to put in just a little bit of effort to do his assignments.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Professor Denton! His lectures were incredibly funny and he always made up fun activities to do with the class to help students to warm up to him and others around him. He was also understanding and a quick, yet easy grader. I never felt overwhelmed in his class because he was never pushy about assignments, only participation.

100% recommend. Just transferred to Depaul by far the best prof I've had. As far as political sciences proofs go definitely my favorite. some reading but its definitely do able and so is the homework. Easy grader and easy going.

Best professor at DePaul hands down. Denton adds fun and humor to any discussion. He is a fair grader, but does expect everyone to participate. His class has a wonderful environment and he is very knowledgable on the subject.

Professor Denton is a nice guy who wants students to be engaged and do well in his class. His teaching style is kind of all over the place- jumping between handouts, lectures, notes, and discussion, but his goals are clear. HW is simple and normally just reading, while exams are a little more complex, but both are easy to ace if you apply yourself.

Very fun low-stress class. Perfect if you have other tough classes and need something relaxing. Let's you submit assignments late. Lots of class discussions. Even if controversial topics are being discussed, the environment was never hostile. Take this professor!

Professor Denton is such a caring and sweet professor. His class is so interesting and genuinely really fun, I enjoyed coming to class everyday. The assignments are not difficult and readings are definitely doable because he genuinely cares about his students.

Will Denton... this man said "no harm no foul" if you sleep in class. I once got to his 90 min class 45 min late and, noticing this, he reminded me afterwards to sign the sign-in sheet so I could still get full attendance credit. American Foreign Policy - lots of short weekly assignments and you can get away with not reading much of the textbook.

Professor Denton is a hilarious delight in class. He is very self-aware and makes every topic engaging. He will randomly call on people in class so pay attention but as long as you do that you'll be fine. Professor Denton is also very helpful if you have issues so always approach him if something comes up. You still need to try in this class!

He is an amazing teacher, and he is very helpful if you need anything. He makes lots of jokes and is fun to be in class with. You do need to take handwritten notes on the lectures so be prepared to listen and write lots.

Lectures can feel long at times but they're overall really interesting and Prof Denton is incredibly funny. There is a good amount of reading. He makes an effort to create a community within the class and make lessons interactive. D2L and instructions are super straightforward and organized. Midterms and the final were also very straightforward.

Professor Denton is a real gem. Genuinely cares about his students and creating a positive class atmosphere. His assignments are very straightforward and readings are simple. Just do the homework and show up to class and you'll be perfect. This is the third class I've taken from him and its enjoyable every time.

Denton is a funny teacher and makes learning in his class fun! The h.w assignments are really easy and quick to do. For the mid-term and final you are provided a study guide that has every topic you need to know. He provides a good amount of extra credit (read the syllabus). Just study for the mid-term, final, and map test and you're set.

Small assignments (homework) scattered throughout the quarter to make sure you prepared for the class. He is an easy grader. We have a research "note" which includes a series of questions for you to reflect on the research process and a literature review.

I have taken 2 of his classes, truely one of the best political science professors I have ever had. Recommend him if you are just starting out!

I think professor Denton is a great instructor. He is passionate and knowledgeable about the topic and is always willing to hear other perspectives. There is a lot of reading in this class but you don't /have/ to do it (but you should!). He's also very laid back and witty, makes the lectures more fun and engaging.

He was a very easy grader and almost always gave full credit for completion. Definitely a lot of required readings but could get by with skimming or just adding when the convo becomes more general. No lectures. Participation definitely matters but he makes it easy to succeed if you are not a poli-sci major/dont hold that interest. Would take again.

A very respectable and kind professor! Great lectures/visuals & interactive activities. He's easy to talk to and ask questions. Participate in class, it makes the subject more interesting! He was the main contributing factor in me changing my concentration to International Politics. This is also a great course for non-political science majors.

prof Denton is honestly such a sweet and kind guy and wants you to succeed or just learn something. there are lots of readings assigned but you can get by with just skimming them because he'll go over it in class. he's very passionate about what he teaches and if he gets something wrong he will take feedback to fix it

Prof. Denton was great! He is very fun and knowledgeable and creates a chill environment. His class is lecture/notes based with assignments to be completed for every class but they are very straightforward and low effort. As just a basic introductory class, it is of course a lot of definitions and graphs but he makes them understandable for sure.

This professor is AWESOME. To learn from him is a privilege. His class was the highlight of my week. Make sure to participate so you get a chance to create a relationship with him; you won't regret it.

Love Prof. Denton! This is my second class w/ him and it's great. He's very funny, entertaining, and laidback, but gives fantastic and in depth lectures. The workload is manageable and he gives extensions. Makes the material easy to understand and has lots of handouts. Obvious he cares about students and tries to form connections. Highly recommend!

He is by far the best professor I've had at DePaul! He makes an effort to connect with each student and makes it clear that he wants us to succeed. I'm a pretty introverted person, but he creates an environment that I felt very comfortable to be in. He makes lectures fun and you can tell he's passionate about what he teaches.

Great class, he gives very clear lectures and answers and questions that you may have. Closed note midterm and final with open responses, not that hard and he gives you a study guide with everything that you need to know on it. Attendance is mandatory and participation is easy. Take his class he's a great prof and a funny guy.
