Nice guy and informative class, but likes to only teach one point of view (the Left's, of course). Will only go into another point of view if put on the spot, but he seems to take it in stride. Overall I'd recommend his class.

Wonderful teacher! Just 4 tests no other work.

I would take a class just because it is taught by him. He not only knows his stuff backwards and forwards, he is also very funny.

His explanation is very clear but his exam kinda hard. Anyway, his class is recommended!!

Very nice guy, soft spoken , but makes the subject matter interesting. tests are mainly from the notes, so you HAVE to show up for class in order to do good on the tests. Made an A, highly recommended.

Wonderful teacher. You can tell he loves what he does. The only grades in his class are 3 tests including the final. Show up to class and take good notes and read the chapters he goes over and you will be fine. Really enjoyable class.

HE gives study guides, but the test questions are very in depth. study deep into the book! EAch test counts 30% of your grade. He's very unopinionated which makes the class slightly bland. HE requires you to know a lot of info!!!

Well, his class is one of my favorites, I have to say. I wish he would express his own opinions a bit more, but I can't really complain. Some people in the class are annoying, but the teacher is great. He is very clear on what he is looking for, even if the questions require a lot of insight.

i love his class..he's a great teacher...very passionate about what he teaches...he sometime goes off subject but it's okay...just pay attention to what he says...i recommend him..

i love this guy! he is very passionate about government & knows his stuff! he could recite this n his sleep! there are only 3 tests which are each 33% of your grade. but your test r straight from your notes and the book. keep up with your reading! classes r just notes and lectures. very easy.

interesting class if you like learning about government. he definitely knows he stuff, very smart and accurate guy when it comes to this subject. not into talkin about current events so dont expect debates or talks about present day politics.

An EXCELLENT teacher!!!! He knows his stuff and can teach it in a matter that help you learn. He does not push his political opinions on you. He does challenge your thought processes!!!!! I would recommend him to anyone. He is very fair in his testing.

Very interesting class! Really nice guy that presents the issues and topics without being biased. His class is not all that hard. You need to take very detailed notes however. And don't worry about the tests, as long as you memorize the notes, you'll be good. Pluse there's like a 15 point curve :-D.

awesome teacher. knows his stuff inside and out. there are 3 tests total and it's straight from your notes. as long as you take detailed notes and memorize them you'll do great. don't even really need the book unless you're not good at memorizing. i recommend him 100%.

This class is easy if you have a clue. It amuses me when I hear people complaining about their Pol Sci teacher because it shows that they are clueless. On the first day, he recommends that you start reading a newspaper or keeping up with things, which is good advice.

I HIGHLY recommend this professor, his lectures are very clear and to the point. I would say that 90% of his tests come from the lectures, so take very detailed notes. People that complain about him obviously don't have a clue, they're the kind that want to be spoon-fed just b/c they go to GPC.

NOT EASY...Very knows alot about his subject. I am currently with him and will get an "A" or "B". He is not easy, I want to stress this. People who get very good grades screams "easy". I am getting good grades also and I am shouting "be careful". But anyways you will see!!

I loved this teacher.He does not use lecture notes, he lectures off of memory so he knows alot about the subject.He repeats everything while he lectures to make sure you get it down.There are only three tests, but he gives you a study guide for each one.If you are lazy, do not take him.

Great Teacher! No lecture notes, so he knows what he is doing. For tests, 75% multiple choice and 25% essay. Essays are easy, because he gives them to you the class before test, and you get to choose two essays out of five choices. Great political moderator as well.

First off, he's a very nice guy. His lectures are probably the easiest to take notes on I've ever heard, very organized, especially for being from memory. He always repeats important information for you. His exams are challenging, but not that bad if you actually make an attempt to study.

Very clear lectures, only problem is test are over many chapters so its alot of material to remember to then only be asked about half of it. Offered and extra credit assignment worth up to 20 points on final exam grade.

Mr. Freret is a graet teacher and loves the subject so it makes the class interesting. he will work with you if you have to miss class and he gives study guides for tests. I recommend him.

I took his summer class, so maybe it was a bit more relaxed. Still, it was a fun and easy class. He promotes participation and political discussion without getting into debates. Organized lectures, easy to take notes on, and an enjoyable guy. Extra credit and curves on the tests.

nice guy who knows what he talks about. pressed for time means less review. summer half is tough but not horrible. almost equal book lectre and he gives out study guides.

Easy teacher/class if you listen and take notes; recorders are helpful too.Study guides are step by step of the test. The textbook is an "aid" for the material not meant to be the instructor of the material.Overall, great teacher; takes time & effort to teach if you want to learn. Study guides, extra credit, reviews for test, will help after class.

You people who complain about this teacher are pathetic. I could've gotten an A blinfolded. You know how many minutes I studied during the entire semester? Probably 3. Getting an A in this class should be a requirement to vote.

Nice guy, hates when people come in late. Misses class more often than normal, but knows what he's talking about and is more than willing to take questions.

Interesting teacher - enthusiastic about politics. Tests are hard because there's a lot of material in the book, but he gives helpful review study guides. I would only recommend this class to those looking for a challenge - those looking for an easy A should find another professor.

Great techer...gives study guides to every test and some have even page numbers to study the right things. He DID NOT cover everything in class since its a lot of work but we all had study guides wich made it easy to study. GREAT explaining stuff too

Who ever said the test are hard are idiots bc the aren't hard. He gives you study guides and most of the questions come from that and some of your notes. Class lectures can be boring, but it's a easy class so that's the price you pay. But study or you will fail bc there is only 4 test, and nothing else!!!

Nice guy, class is fun and very relaxed. You'll pretty much just be writing notes and taking tests, but it's very involved and you can go off on random tangents a lot. Tests are part multiple choice and part essay. Multiple choice isn't too bad, but he grades pretty tough on the essays. You will definitely need to read the book for this one!

He is really amazing, the class is fun and easy to understand and before the test all you really need to do is review because in class as you take notes he explains and it always stay in your head. i promise.... you will enjoy the class very much

He is a great teacher with a straight forward class forum which consists of reading the text, lectures, and 4 exams. He gives a comprehensive study guides that prepare you for the tests, and he offers a term paper for extra credit. I recommend his class if taking POLS.He is helpful, knowledgeable, and doesn't have a political agenda when teaching.

ok class can be boring, but he is a great and funny teacher. i still enjoyed his class< he gave 4 exams and the test were mostly easy. just review the review sheet he gives and read the chapters and u will be fine!

This guys a HOOT! Hilarious on the first day and sparatically throughout. Very passionate about what he teaches. The class teaches things you NEED TO KNOW in life..to function as a citizen, and to know your stuff with the law. I highly recommend this teacher. Easy with only 4 test - 4th test was the final (each counting 25% each). Got a high B!

Others give this guy a rough rating...but he is a superb teacher. Very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. Grades fair....if you study..you should not have any problems. He answers emails and is willing to answer questions after class, etc. He's very laid back. You would be a fool not to take him. He really knows his stuff.

He is usually a little late. You have to take good notes and read the book to pass this class with a good grade. The essay portion on the test is usually what gets most people. If you put effort in the class then you should get a good grade. He is an interesting guy and good professor because he knows what he's talking about.

Mr. Freret is a great teacher. If you study his study guides and take good notes it is impossible to get below an A. I truly appreciated the fact that he does not shove his opinions down your throat like alot of professors- in a government class no less. He just teaches the material and lets the students decide how they feel... imagine that!

I don't know if I just took his class on an off year or what, but he is not easy . He is pretty interesting in his lecture not too hard too listen too. His test though are no joke half my class failed. I took chemistry at the same time and had too study more for him than chemistry. He his pretty picky too and HATES if you show up late. Beware

He's a really cool guy and his lectures are actually pretty interesting, but his tests are RIDICULOUS, and worded in a very confusing manner. Most of my class failed or barely passed. Also, he hardly ever responds to email.

Very direct, clear, and knowledgeable. A fair grader, especially if you put in the time and effort. Made class and learning fun!

i loved this prof. he was witty, smart, and funny. very lecture-based. your textbook is your lifeline. read that and pay attention during lectures. we only had 5 tests total, no assignments/homework/quizzes. your lowest test score gets dropped and grades are curved.
