Godbey is a very helpful, smart, funny and fair professor. He really likes class participation. I would definetely recommend his class for 1301 or 1302. I learned a great deal from both his classes.

He's got an A+ when it comes to teaching English. He is so nice and willing to teach you everything he knows. He's a very nice person and will make your life easy while learning. He takes time to talk to his students and listen to their concerns. I would recommend him to anyone who tries to learn the most for English 1301 and 1302.

Great teacher. Loves to teach and is willing to work with you to ensure you don't fail. I would recommend him to everyone. Lots of reading! He works with your work schedule too.

Very good teacher; he is concerned with his students and wants then to be as successful as they want to be, but he will even push you also. I personally don't believe anyone would regret taking this teacher. So go learn and have from learning, because he is also humorous.

Excellent teacher, knows his subject very well and wants his students to know it well also. Gos's sent this man to teach what he teaches, because he does it so well and with great clarity. A+A(all around).

He is a top notch teacher. I would recommend English 1301, 1302 and American Literature taught by Prof. Godbey. If you read the powerpoint presentations, listen to his lectures and actually study, you will do fine. I was amazed at how kind and understanding he is to all his students. I loved the guy.

prof godbey is an excellent teacher. he is lighthearted and makes the class fun. you need your textbook but he puts all of the in class presentations online. he really loves what he does and you will learn more than you expect from his class.

I took his World Lit Class and had a blast. He is fun and light hearted and isn't strict. He knows what he is teaching and does it well. I would definitly recomend him!

Wonderful teacher! Mr. Godbey truly enjoys what he does and it shines through while he teaches. He has a great sense of humour, and he's caring and knowledgable. He is honestly the best teacher I've ever had. I'm just sad that he won't teach 1302 next semester. He's made me a better critical writer and reader. I'd recommend him to anyone!

Prof Godbey is hands down the best professor i've had. He loves to teach and that makes the class much better for his students. He is VERY helpful.i highly recommend taking his course!

Prof Godbey is one of the best prof @ NLC. He is very knowledgable as well as approachable. Show up to class, ready/study and you should get an A. Not easy but do-able.

This is proffesor is awesome! I hate English and i took one of his EVENING classes he kept me awake! because i understood everything and he is easy with the assignments!

He knows what he's teaching and he is pretty passionate about what he's teaching. All lectures are just ppt slides. But his test are very very very broad,detailed, and hard. Picky grader too.

English (1301)is not my first language. I am not an American. My English was very poor and weak. Mr Godbey made me feel confident. He done great job. I got B in his class . As long as u work on his assignments .Just work on powerpoints no book needed. He is easy and extremely understandable proffesor. But please do not take Sonia bush.

man, mr. godbey was one cool teacher. really fun personality and easy to get along with.. everyone liked him. :) long as you show up, arent a lazy butt, and do your work you are good to go. would defionatly recommend him, very cool guy.

Good professor for this subject knows what he is teaching to his students. He makes studying ENG fun and his classes are not dull. If you work hard on all of the assignments you can pass his class. He is one of the professor at North Lake you have to take.

He's a great professor, he makes class fun even though it was a literature class. Lots of reading assingments though just pay attention in class and go over the powerpoints. His test are not very hard if you do your readings. I got a B in his class although I didn't do all of my readings. Take him if you hate to read he knows this class ir required

This is one of the best professors in NL. He is very clear on what the assignments are and knows how to teach. I took one of his evenings class and it was fun he def. knows how to keep the students awake. alot of reading and writing but its possible to make a GOOD grade on every assignment in his class. I recommend him to everyone!!!

I had Prof Godbey for my Comp I and Comp II. He is just that good! I wouldn't recommned any other professor for English... He's funny too which makes all of the differene. You will regret for not taking him!

Best English teacher ever! So far I've have taken him for both 1301 & 1302. This Fall I will take him for 2327. Just like the other person said on their comment: "He's just that good!"

Professor Godbey is a sarcastic and funny old man. He uses real life applications and does an excellent job of relating helpful information to the students. I highly recommend this professor. Register for his courses before they are gone!

Very smart and funny. Will keep you engaged and learning. Not easy, but will work with students and is fair. States he loves to teach....it shows. Am looking forward to a AMERICAN LIT class in the fall.

not a huge fan of literature but this guy is pretty good, he will work with you if you need it, hes really funny and sarcastic, if you show up to every class and that ur engaged and act like you care he will grow to like you and help you. i was at a 77 for a final grade and he gave me a B not bad. be sure to ask him about the one who must be obeyed

He’s an overall good and challenging professor. He does set high expectations. Just make sure you do the essays assigned and study for midterm and final because they will have short essay response questions. If you’ll do that you be fine in passing the class. He does not reply back on emails fast enough. He’s a great professor to take.

He is a very nice teacher. He has high expectations but appreciates and helps all of your efforts. He is very practical and relates real life situations with the lectures. Its the best class i have ever taken. Really appreciates the teacher and highly recommend to take his class.

Great teacher, he is challenging but will work with you. As long as you take notes, pay attention and submit assignments you should be fine. Would greatly recommend him, he is the BEST english professor I have EVER had :D

AMAZING. I enjoyed coming to class and always had a good laugh. He is very funny and as long as you do your homework and complete assignments, you should be fine. One of the best teachers, if not the best I have ever had. He is extremely helpful and teaches because he loves to teach. I'm going to miss the class!

I did not expect to learn as much as I did. He is good at teaching a subject that is required but not usually wanted. I hated English and writing and now I know why it is important. I passed and will take 1302 from him. He is extraordinary!!!

He was a tough but fair professor. Come to class prepared. We covered a lot of material in a very short amount of time. Essay portions of test very demanding. I will be taking 1302 in the Spring. Recommend taking during regular semester since I did not absorb the material as well as if we had more time. He was silly and a nice older gentleman.

WOW! He's an older very sarcastic guy but you just gotta love him. He definitely lets you make up EVERYTHING. He seems mean and loud but he's seriously funny and loud. I don't even like writing papers or going to class but I love his class so much I only missed once lol I definitely recommend him

If you want to learn something and get entertained at the same time then choose this professor. I used to be terrified of writing just like some people are terrified of giving speeches-NOT ANYMORE. His unique style of teaching will make you want to come to class every time. Besides writing,you will get valuable life lessons as well!

The test is over. I don't know my grade yet. Hoping at least a C. I have not enjoyed aclass or learned as much in a class. He is funny, tough, fair, and inspiring all at once. Don't expect it to be easy, but it is worth while. This should be required for every student.

If you want an easy grade, its not him. I got a D. This is not a negative, it is whaat i deserved. I learned more from him than any other prof i've had. he is really a great teacher. i screwed up and slacked off. i am taking his class again. if you want to learn and use the knowledge now and future take him.

I hate writing papers, but professor Godbey made it interesting. He interacts with his class, and it makes it exciting. I learned a lot from him, very smart funny man. It can be a lot of work. I took 1301 in the summer, and 1302 in Fall. Got A's in both. Great professor, highly recommend him!!!

Semester over. Prof is lotta work, but wow did I learn a lot. Just finished 1302. It was fun, he is fair, but has expectations. Not unfair but require effort. I would take him again for anything. Funny, fair, learn so much for everyday use. Dont miss him if you get a chance

He is one of the best teachers I have EVER had. His courses are way easy to pass IF you show up and do your work.(BTW: he takes late work) As for Test and Midterms he has a review day before where you can ask whats going to be on it and he'll answer them. HINT:books used mainly for MLA format, copy pages from library copy.

Really great prof. He teaches what you need to know in classes and life. Already used stuff at work, got promoted. It is argument not literature Lotta reading, writing, and research, but woth it! Would take again for anything

Great Professor. His lectures are boring, just read the powerpoints which I can do at home,but attendance is mandatory. I received a B because I didn't try. You can easily get an A with this professor. He does not give extra credit, but takes late work. Very nice and funny professor.

He is a good professor, easy to understand, and you will learn a lot of you do your work. He is not going to hand over a grade, but you'll have to work for it. Tip on for passing the class is making sure you study for midterm, and final exam.

I actually failed his class, but trust me it was not his fault at all I was just being a huge slacker! I always enjoyed going to his class although I'm no gonna lie, sometimes I fell asleep during lecture. It WAS night school though.

Just finished this course a couple of days ago and I already miss it. This professor makes his lectures interesting by relating them to the real world. Funny, fair, and will take the time to discuss grades with each student and motivate you to do better. Favorite college professor so far! I highly recommend taking his courses.

I have taken godbey for 1301 and 1302. He is tough but fair. I hate english and this is these are the only classes I didn't want to skip. Lot of writing. He makes it real. All my paper grades in other classes have gone up.

Great professor, took him for 1301 and 1302. Received a B in both classes. He is a bit of a smart ass, but very funny and loves what he does. He will work with you if you dont understand. Ask questions, he is willing to answer any of them.

Took Godbey for 1301 and it was great. Lots of papers and a group project but he makes it easy to understand but you HAVE to show up. If you don't understand something just ask! He is the most helpful prof I've had so far. Grading is fair and he doesn't lecture much. Mostly powerpoints and note taking for midterm and final. Def taking for 1302.

Excellent professor! Knows his stuff, breaks it down bit by bit & explains it in depth & makes it interesting. Extremely knowledgeable. One grp assignment which includes 1 paper, a few essays, & 2 tests. Not too tough on grading. Book isn't really used, more power points. Attendance isn't required but strongly suggested. Highly recommend him!

I'm currently taking Godbey for 1301. By the end of the 2nd week of class this semester, I knew that I would take him for 1302. If I were in grad school and he taught classes, I would take him AGAIN. I can not explain how knowledgeable & thorough he is when he covers material. Show up, don't be on your phone though. Excellent professor. Hands down!

took him for 1301 and 1302. Learned more in those classes than all others combined. all of my papers in other classes have been better. he has lots of papers but works with you for them. definatly would take for anything he teaches.

Professor Godbey is the best. This is the second time I am taking a class with him, I honestly did not want the semester to end. He has a sarcastic humor, so if you don't have tough skin, stay away. If you really want to learn the material then he is the professor for you. He isn't an easy grader, but he will give you what you work for.

I am currently taking him, he is super funny. I am laughing all the time. His lectures are pretty straight forward. If you miss class you miss important info just like any other class. Other students that have taken him before say they would again. I would recommend because its pretty easy. All you have to do is work.

Very funny teacher, I totally recommend. Miss a class? you will be able to catch up. One group project, very easy and straight forward assignments.

Mr. Godbey has been my favorite english teacher ever. He is so funny and explains lectures in a clear way. We did one group assignment which was a little difficult but he explained it very well and overall he is a great professor. I 100% recommended taking his class.

Godbey is a great prof. I took him fall of 19 and will take for 1302. He makes you workbut will provide time for you to explain. He is really great the best i have ever had!!!

Professor Godbey was GREAT! This class was not hard as long as you do the work. I took this class online and we did have zoom meetings. It was not mandatory to show up but, he did keep track of attendance. He does give you a little more leeway if you participate in the zoom class/show up. The Zoom class is not boring but he often gets side tracked.

Prof Godbey was hilarious and his style of lecturing was really fun. Spends the first 10-20 mins of class just chatting with students. He uploads all his slides. Not much homework. Only downsides are that he doesn't give any written info/description on the assignments, no feedback on essays, and deadlines for assignments can sometimes be short.

Professor Godbey is a super old man who is old school. He's super chill, and most of the classes were a bunch of nothing. Not a lot of effort is required, but showing up is important because his assignments and due dates are not clear at all. As long as you show up to class, he will tell you what is due and when. Super chill overall, easy A/B.
