Keeps you awake, funny @$$ guy. Tests confusing though.
Excellent Advisor!
Lectures are cool, he is pretty funny and lives up to his nickname, crazy willie.
Crazy, get old tests, tricky, TONS of notes, calls on students makes u feel dumb
Great, upbeat teacher. Crazy Willie they call him. Just don't be late to his class.
DROP THIS CLASS!! If u need more than a class of coping notes from the second u walk in till the second u walk out...dont take this
If you feel like listening to a jackass talk 3 times a week for 50 minutes, take this class
DO NOT BUY THE TEXT! The class is copying from his overhead projector for 50 minutes straight. BORING! Use old tests. Tests are easy - straight from notes.
Class is a joke, guy is out to trick students. Will call on you and try and make you look foolish. Can't leave once you're there, and can't show up late.
very entertaining, take a lot of notes in lecture,a lot of info on exams, study the notes
SCREWS YOU OVER BY ELIMINATING +/- FINAL GRADES. YOUR 89 BECOMES A B, YOUR 79 BECOMES A C.
crazy man, past tests are almost identical to the new ones, just study notes
To be honest--economics was not meant to be taught the way he teaches it. Has been teaching for years and still thinks people like him. you will see that it is all note-taking and little thinking. try das for 152 who cares.
It's a lot of note taking, but you can shorten it by writing in your own words. His tests aren't that hard, just study from past tests and you'll do fine.

This guy was quite possibly the worst instructor any student could possibly have. He does nothing to help his students acting like he's a nice helpful guy. A very easy class but taught by an unhappy half link.
Funny- but acts like a dick more often than not. Made macro harder than it ever needed to be and succeeds in pissing you off more than frat boys when you get your test grade back on the questions he tricked you on
Don't buy the text, don't wait the night b4 to study, find a friend and alternate the days to go to class to take the notes b/c he doesn't take attendance
Go to class or get notes from a friend. study the notes word for word. tests are straight out of notes. dont buy any textbook, you wont open it up. the final was IMPOSSIBLE, so get A's and B's on the first 3 tests.
i don't even wanna talk about it.
all he does he put up overheads.. insane amount of writing.. do not buy the book...all the test questions directly from notes... tests tricky bc he'll change one word... hated him
tests are purely from class notes. For tests, the best method of studying is by taking lots of past exams.
i would definatly recommend that you take this class.. he's the best professor i have had so far. makes economics interesting.
one of the worst teachers i've had at UD. He may be funny, but i would NOT recommend. Only good thing is you can use old exams to help you study.
Funny
Dont have to go to class. Just copy the note from your friends. Textbook is a waste of money. Study from the old test if you can find some. he does not make a new test every year.
funny guy, makes the class fun. a little cocky at times and arrogant. tests are the same as previous exams (you can find in library). overall, it's a good class considering that economics is really boring.
go to class or copy notes from someone...he gives u old tests to study from...study from them bc the tests are exactly the same with minor changes
good class, he's a funny teacher and makes it interesting...study previous tests and you'll be fine cuz the questions are similar to old ones
Worst teacher at UD and very bad teaching methods. Puts up overheads and gives ALOT of notes, and while you are writing he tries to teach the material to you...bad teaching method...dont take him!
Ok...so I was petrified to take this class, but he definately makes it interesting. He calls out students all the time (dont sit in the aisle seats) but if you study past tests you will get good grades!

decent class, too much copying notes from the overhead and economics can be very boring, but if u abbreviate the notes and study the old tests its not bad, and he can be funny
funny professor, class is boring as hell. just study past exams and you'll be fine
HE SUCKS AS A TEACHER, AND THE OVERHEAD IS THE WORST WAY TO LEARN THE MATERIAL.
funny guy but to many notes to copy, and very unhelpful. there are better teachers here
Harris is awesome. The people that complain about the overheads are lazy, because there is NO outside reading for his class and little work for exams b/c he GIVES you the old ones !! take him!!
Funny guy, easy class, all you have to do is go over your notes and the old tests and you'll be fine. The class doesn't take up much time.
This guy is crazy, the material is so boring and he tries to make it interesting. He gives you a blank notebook, and puts up the notes for it everyday and talks while you write, it sucks. Deal with it, just go to class and get last years tests.
as long as you get last years test you'll do fine. all he does is switch up the questions
horrible professor been teaching so long yet doesnt know how to do it.. you might get some descent scores on the exams but u learn NOTHING except for how to study old tests
Class is pretty easy. I got an A. But professor is an **** and doesnt care about any of his students.
I think he's a great teacher, uses real world examples that apply to his students.
****..take link, easier
EASY EASY EASY..just takes test questions directly from old ones...relates material to real life examples
Great guy, very undersanding cares...so go talk to him.
Think He is a great teacher. The notes are directly off the overhead. The tests come directly from old tests on reserve in the library. Makes class interesting by his energy. Recommend to anyone.
Easy class, gives you old tests which are exactly like the ones you take. Don't buy the book, u never use it. Just copy the notes and study old tests.
Easy class with a little bit of common sense, but he couldnt care less about his students. Definitely an a**hole
AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. He will lower your grade if you are late to class. good grief!
He is very rude, and doesn't teach the material properly. Take someone else that will actually teach the material and not yell it.
Basic course, not hard or easy. You only learn basic concepts and not necessarily concrete knowledge. Harris def. teaches the class as a lecture, you do become a number and a face in the crowd. Pretty sarcastic guy but can be funny too.
dont get the textbook. jsut get the macro notes and go to class to get the notes and hear his examples. review the practice test bc the real test is similar
HAIRCUTS AND BEER!!!
gives you a blank notebook to write out the notes. puts ridiculous amounts of notes on the overhead so you cant listen to him speak and write it all at the same time. puts his old tests in the reserve room at the library. tests are still hard
Not to difficult of a professor. Go to class and take notes...tests come straight from the notes taken in class
No Comments
i guess i understand why some people wouldn't like harris, but you could do so much worse. go to class, take notes, study old tests (no need to buy text, just 'macronotes') and you'll do fine. he makes it as fun and easy as anyone possibly could.
Good teacher. Knows his economics. Go to class, take notes. Exams-study notes & study previous tests. No need to buy other textbook you never use it. ECON 152 easier than ECON 151. Talks whole class. Kinda borin but take notes and you will pass.
funny will embarse you without thinking twice made some girl cry in class semster(honestly) not too much work just a few days of intense studyin b4 exam exams VERY tricky
People give him a bad rap, I thought he was great. Very funny/nice guy. Very accomodating when I needed it. Lectures are generally interesting, although you don't have to go much. DON'T BUY THE TEXT! MACRONOTES IS ALL YOU NEED!
Class is pretty easy because he gives you the notes and previous tests. Buying the text book is a waste of money. Personally I think Harris is the worst professor to ever teach at UD. He is so annoying and I really think he wants you to feel stupid.
Definitely one of the professors to try to avoid. He is a jerk. The class grade is based on four exams, each of which has the questions worded very tricky to make you second guess youeself. Don't bother with the book, just get the notes packet. Avoid.
Kind of a jerk - Easy enough if you study practice exams and notes - don't buy the textbook - he doesn't give + or - with letter grades at the end of the semester so sometimes that can boost your grade up but sometimes you get lower than what you deserved
Crazy Willie!!!! Class is alright.. study old exams.. very unhelpful....
Make arrogant jerk I've ever had. Told me I was stupid when I asked for help after being sick. If you understand econ you will do fine, but avoid him if you have find another teacher.
The only D i have gotten in college. Hes kind of like Johnny Carson only more annoying and likes to make people cry. Study hard for tests and do practice exams. Overall pretty basic 100 level class of 200 people and lots of learning on your own.
WTF.. the tests are SO tricky. i left every exam thinking in got a 100 and end up getting C's. Hes kind of boring, but a good professor except for the exam parts. took the video course - he does make ppl feel stupid
Basically the worst prof ever, I got a D in his class while getting A's in all my others, he sucks at life
This guy easy. The subject matter is ridiculously easy. He covers one topic a day. Even if something is really basic and easy he will explain it over and over. The exams are just like the old ones. Not going to class makes some examquestions tricky
Really nice guy who cares about his students' success. Tries to make economics an interesting topic with real-world examples that relate to students (partying, beer, sex, etc.) I attended class regularly, but exams were still a bit tricky.
Hated this class and this prof. Took a different prof for 152 and got an A. As a senior now, this is the class I got my lowest grade in. Very annoying!
your gpa could get better from taking him, but your macro doesnt really get better.
Read the micronotes, do the previous years exams, get an A. Simple.
He makes economics fun.
crazy dude, not very nice to students, he calls them out in class. but uses good examples, and class is easy. just use the macronotes and do practice tests. you will do fine
He's like a damn cartoon character dancing on the stage. He's not clear in his teachings, VERY unwilling to help. Tests are hard. I'm complaining and got a B!
To the other comment, DONT SHOW UP LATE THEN YOU IDIOT. you can skip whenever, and just copy the notes of your friend. always get your notes and pay attention in class. dont write down everything on the overhead. makes econ fun. study previous tests = good grade
He's a great teacher and can be funny at times. You don't need to read the text book just review the old tests and read the notes you'll do fine on the tests. I am taking a class with him again.
"Crazy Willie" is overly excited about the subject matter and really gets into it with real world situations that make it easier 2 understand. U do not need 2 go to class just make sure u get the notes from a friend. U don't need to buy the text book either, just the micro notes. Review old tests!
HArris is the best econ teacher ever!
GREAT TEACHER! makes econ fun and intresting and liked to call people out in class for being obnoxious. dont buy text (i never opened it once) get notes and review old, test, review old tests, review old tests (included in micro/macro notes) do that = A
Crazy and enthusiastic, makes a rather boring topic reasonably fun. Kind of a right wing nut job, and his politics can tend to come through. tests arent hard, take good micronotes(if you can read the overheads) and study the old tests, and u will get at least a B

Great professor, explained content well, seemed to like to help students in class. STUDY PREVIOUS EXAMS, they help 100%! Just got done taking final and I feel pretty content about my performance. Good class, knows and is very enthusiastic about the material. Pretty good and easy professor overall.
Worlds EASIEST CLASS! who doesnt get a A in this class is a retard. Im sorry but it is so easy. i only missed 3 questions all semester on his tests.
one of those classes that you dont need to read the book, but you must attend class and take notes. If you enjoy skipping classes or sleeping in, dont take Harris. He's not helpful if you miss anything.
Crazy Willie. Be forewarned... if you don't enjoy jokes about beer, condoms, and marijuana... don't take the class. Makes a touch subject fairly enjoyable, but you will have massive hand cramps writing down the notes he puts on the overhead. Bring Tylenol.
Crazy Willie is awesome and knows how to make Economics (a typically sleeper subject) interesting, fun, and engaging. Go to class, do the work, and study and you'll be fine. He's a good guy. Sit in the front and talk to him when you can and he'll like you.
made my life a living HELL! studied his concepts for hours and went straight over my head. had a personal meeting with him and he said i should re-evaluate myself at the university of delaware. he's horrible.
Easy class I did nothing besides look at the practice tests the night before and i did fine, granted you do have to show up for class
He definitely keeps the class interesting. Lots of notes, attendance is very important. Practice tests are key! Study the practice tests! Material is pretty hard, but he does his best to help you understand it.
Crazy Willie is histerical...Dont sit on the aisle seats or he WILL call on you and make you part of his lectures. Otherwise, go to class, if you miss yours, there's always another section you can slip into to catch the notes. DONT BUY THE TEXT, but the dvd was helpful for review.
he's the man
crazy dude, republican, aka the man
Crazy Willie! Presents everything you need on the test. My only beef is that he doesn't use +/- grading. For some it's good and for others it hurts them. Oh well, I'm taking 152 with him now.
go to class, take notes, and study old exams--then you will be fine.
His tests are all open book and he makes economics seem interesting. Always happy to help students outside of class.
Crazy Willie is a great teacher, he relates the usually boring topics to things the college students would find interesting (beer sex parties). His tests are EXACTLY like the old exams that he gives you, study them! Just make sure you either go to class or get the notes from a friend, i didnt open the book once, i just used the notes. GOOD CLASS
if you have to take this class do it online. trust me it is the best way!
Harris, is a nut. Your hand better not be sore or else its going to be a long day. I didn't learn anything by going to the lectures really because i couldn't ever listen to what he was saying. I was to busy copying all the overheads each day. I recommend partnering up with a friend and go every other class or 1 person copies and other listens.
good luck!
Trys to be funny, test are extremeley easy
Very funny guy, def. makes class interesting...don't sit in the aisles or rows...he will pick on you...don't buy the textbook...all tests are STR8 from class notes...presents material very clear and concise...class always has alot of hot girls in it...highly recomend any ECON class with Harris......
He tries too hard to be funny. I laughed the first couple weeks but then it got annoying, because his jokes are really repetitive. I do like when he singles people out, I kind of want to be singled out to go one on one with him but i haven't yet. Class is a joke since I took AP Econ last yr...same exact class. He's an **** when you meet him tho.
He tries way to hard to be funny, and he gives wayyyyy too many notes that cannot possibly be copied and learned at the same time. He talks about viagra way too much, and overall his class sucks. Although, I did enjoy halloween when he wore leather pants.
if harris died i would laugh over his dead body. try to get help from him in his office hours and he'll make you feel like an idiot. impossible to pay attention to his lectures because you're too busy taking his 5000 pages of notes. AVOID HARRIS AT ALL COSTS. he knows economics but he CANNOT teach it to save his life and will not help you.
This class was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I decided to take it online but that was a BIG mistake. The tests are hard and very confusing and its even worse when you don't have the teacher in class or at the test to clarify things... especially with this class. If you have to take this class, do NOT take it online, you'll regret it.
Not sure why there are neg comments for him...He is the greatest professor at this university. If you go to class, take his notes and pay attention you will do fine. Make sure you use the practice exams, b/c the actual exams are the same just some questions are flipped around. Greatest professor i have ever had. Can be funny, take this class!
Very good professor. Worth going to lecture because he is really funny. Study the practice exams because they are near identical to the actual exam. Only tough exam was the final. If you dont like being called on, do not sit at the end of the rows! Really enjoyed this class and caused me to switch to a business major!
Great teacher, but his exams are hard.
Crazy Willie is one of the better professors here at UD. Funny as hell at the beginning, but humor can get old. Knows his stuff when it comes to economics and puts the material out there in easily understood and remembered stories. Way too much notes though. STUDY THE PRACTICE EXAMS! THEY ARE EXACTLY LIKE THE TESTS! Take Crazy Willie if you can...
HORRIBLE PROFESSOR! is rude to students and has no respect for them. he thinks he is funny but isnt. i didnt get anything out of his class. students dont have time to listen to him teach bc we are busy copying the TONS of notes. buy the macro notes but DONT buy the macro book- u will never use it. study from the practice tests if u cant drop him
Definately not a class I would want to go too. Lecutures were pretty boring. 4 midterm exams, all are open book. Not too bad. Alot of the questions come from the book. Don't read it, just look it up during the test.
This class reminded me of high school. The teacher wasn't interesting or funny. The notes were on a powerpoint and you couldn't hear him lecture because you were busy paraphrasing. Oh and the exams were not at college level. This class doesn't prepare you for the anything especially if you are major/minoring in econ. Don't recommend.
dont take online! tests are given on a computer makes it confusing and hard. tricky questions, and REALLY boring lectures to watch.
EASY CLASS!!! Take this class if your looking for an easy a or b, the pre test that is in the micro notes is basically the test, he changes either the wording or the arrangement of the answers, funny guy as well, i most def recommend taking this
as has been stated many times here, buying the textbook is a waste of money. his lectures can definitely be funny, but he occaisionally works himself into a rabid state in which you can see him salivate when he gets really into it. he tends to be rude to students to get a rise from the rest of the class. his lectures would be much easier to absorb
makes class interesting and does a good job explaining...attendence isnt required, but dont show up late bc he will lower your grade...tests werent too difficult, just make sure you understand the notes and look over them before exams
Easy class if your somewhat interested. 4 exams, and you get the old exams in your micronotes, which really help if you know them.
attend lectures.hes funny.known as "crazy willie" for a reason.DON'T BE LATE&DON'T SKIP.makes econ easy to understand.dont study too heavily from his 'example' exams, they'll confuse u.older exams are @the ref room in the lib, check those out, u might get the same one.just study.
Very different from any other class. uses examples like beer, condoms, and viagara for teaching econ. be sure to understand the graphs and such. don't just memorize. grading system of A, B, or C, (or lower) screwed me over b/c there's no + or - but the class is interesting and sort of fun for econ. also don't buy the textbook! only buy micronotes.
just go to class (& hear a crazy texan cowboy get all amped about the supply of condoms and the demand for beer), copy notes directly off the overhead, and study the practice exams and you're golden. dont MEMORIZE the practice questions tho- he'll often change one word that alters the whole question. its your own fault if you do bad in his class
Took the class online. Everything is pretty straightforward as long as you take good notes from the lectures and actually make some sense out of the material. All the tests are open notebook/notes but a lot of material, however 2 hours is more than enough for the test. Good class to take if you want econ out of the way for other classes.
funny guy. just as easy as 151. i never read the text and did well just from his notes. The best prof clearly for 151 and 152. just study from the old tests he gives you and use the solutions he provides and there is no way you cant pass
Take him!! Dont buy the book for the course, i never opened it and still got A+ on all the tests. Old exams were in the back of your "MACRONOTES"...memorize them and you will do fine. Don't sit on the edge of rows because he will call on you and sit close because it is hard to read his projector slide if you are passed the 7th or 8th row.
loved the professor and would recommend him to anyone. very important to study all old exams-especially from past years!! made a boring subject interesting! easy B and definately a possible A
THIS GUY IS THE MAN...he is funny to listen to and the class is so simple. If you study the practice test and understand it your garenteed an A on the test. Best class I've had so far!!!!
Very easy professor, go to class , read over your notes the night before, study the practice exams, use the explanations heavily. Guaranteed B, easy A. Crazy Willie is the BEST!
Very easy professor, go to class , read over your notes the night before, study the practice exams, use the explanations heavily. Guaranteed B, easy A. Crazy Willie is the BEST! Took him for 2 semesters!
this guy is crazy...very entertaining class especially if he catches a student eating or drinking. yells and gets excited very easily. tests are tricky but if you can get your hands on older versions youre set because hes not a very creative test maker.
piece of cake.only buy book if class skipping will ensue. prob not a good idea to vote for no +/-, but the younger kids opted for it. what should i care? i got the A!
Harris the THE MAN. He may seem overwhelming or like a jerk at first as a freshman, but that's just his personality. Follow his simple rules and don't get on his bad side. He's a very bright and very funny guy who definitely knows what students are interested in. Attendance not required to do well, just get the notes. Easy to get a B, B-
great teacher, very clear although hard to follow sometimes. tons of notes, i recommend bringing a laptop to class, much easier on the hand. no + - grading scale which can be good or bad.
Funny man. A bit uptight. Crystal clear teacher. My only complaint about the class is the slow pace of it. Besides that, he's a fantastic teacher.
Funny teacher. Uses dirty examples. Explains well, helpful if you ask for it, and his tests are easy except for the first one. Use his notes not the text, but if your confused the text will help
Crazy willie is an awesome teacher. This was one of my favorite classes. You dont need the book at all he has his own micronotes that he uses for the exams with old exams in the back of it. The tests are tricky but easy for the most part. I would definately take him for economics!!!
Good guy to get for economics. Dont buy the textbook, you will literally be throwing ur money away because u wont use it once. If u dont like going to class, dont because it means nothing. His exams are dumb and full of trick questions but he does help u prepare so just study practice exams and u can get an A. Hes a wild dude overall.
This was an online course. Lectures were boring, long, and repetitive. Exams are open book, but it's still not easy. Don't take this class. It was the biggest pain.
Very easy prof. presents material in a v funny way, easy to get a good grade
Crazy Willie is THE MAN. He's a funny guy & a great teacher; uses ridiculous examples such as beer, guns, marijuana, condoms, etc. to keep class interesting. Attendance not manditory. Don't buy the textbook - you only need the Micronotes. Study the practice tests & its an easy A.
Prof. Link is better. The transparencies are old and hard to read. I think he is on the Bush administration payroll.
Crazy Man!! Good Teacher DON"T BE LATE TO CLASS!!!
He's pretty good and goofy! Don't buy the book you never use it just the macro notes. Class attendace isn't mandatory just get the notes from a freind or TA but it's still fun to go, at most u'll miss an inside joke. Study esmas in the back ad ur good even better if you find somone who had him last year he uses the same exam from 2 semestes ago!
Dr. Will is the man. He uses awesome examples and explains things very clearly. I understand a lot more about the economic system as a result of his class. GO WILL.
Crazy Willy isn't nearly as good as everyone thinks. He can be entertaining at times, but it would be better if he would just actually teach the material. The course was about 50% economics, 50% airplane references. Try to get a different prof if you actually want to learn macro econ.
pointless class. you do not have to go to class at all. just get notes from someone. the tests are EXACTLY like the practice ones just worded a bit differently. study the practice test and you should easily get a B or an A. However, his final was a lot harder, just make sure you study for that one a lot harder than the regular tests
One of the best at UD!!!!!!!!!
ONLINE COURSE. Open Notes. Book is pretty much useless. Pay attention to the Power Point slides. Those are the majority of the exams. You HAVE to watch the lectures if you want to do well. Not an Easy A like I thought it would be. Watch the lectures, study the slides, do the Macronotes and you'll do fine. 4 Exams, no cum. final. I got a B-.
econ major, took Harris for 151 & 152. crazy willy is great. don't have to go to class and you can go to a different section. other 151/152 profs make you do assignments online, but not harris. just buy his notes not the book and study concepts-don't memorize questions. old exams are very helpful.
Professor Harris talkes to you like you are an idiot and incompatent. He askes if you have any questions each lecture but never answers them, or replays by repeating what he already said in a louder voice. I woud not recomend taking his class if at all possiible.
CRAZY WILLY is great. he loves what he teaches and found a way to make economics fun. dont worry about the book, he gives u the notes in class and all u have to do is read over themm before the test...also gives u practice test which are almost exactly like the real ones so if u just go over them u should pass with at least a B or better
Picks on people in class.Comes across as a jerk because of this.Took 151 and 152, studied hard and both times got a C-.Does not care if you pass or fail hold students resposible for everything.Only uses Macro/Micro notes for exams. They are really confusing too.I would not recommend.Other Econ 151 and 152 Professors teach and help you learn better
The material on the exam is not what's in the notes or in the textbook. He spends more time giving ridiculous examples to keep the class awake rather than teaching. Avoid "Crazy Willy" if you can.
"Crazy willy"- hes a good teacher, you dont need the text book, just the "micronotes". come to class, he has lots of real world explanations that he goes over, which makes the material much easier to understand. plus, he always keeps it interesting. he likes to call on people, so if you dont want to be called on, sit in the back middle. hes uses lo
i can't stand this man. by far the most annoying professor i've ever had. so loud and obnoxious.. you can tell he's been using the same stupid jokes year after year. talks to you like you're a total idiot..freshman think he's funny but he's just incredibly obnoxious. AVOID.
hes kinda interesting but also very weird at the same time.
Harris is the man. He is very lively during every class. He will pound every detail of the lecture into your mind for 50 minutes. Mostly boring but make sure to stay awake to copy the notes. Must go to class for notes. Tests are medium difficulty, study your notes for an easy B, hard A. Would take again.
William Harris is an awful, awful man. He wastes so much time yelling and ranting about irrelevent information that you completley lose sight of the topic. He is very unapproachable and of little help to students. If you dare ask a question, he will make you feel like a complete ass. i hate this man.
This professor is just an ****, simply put. Before taking this class, make sure you have a general understanding of econ bc he surely doesn't teach it too well verbally. His lectures are just a waste of time and yet, he stresses the importance of class attendance. Overall, this class is a bit tolerable andtake it if you have to
Crazy Willie sure lives up to his name - crazy. Very funny and keeps class interesting... but if you break one of his rules he will call you out in front of the entire class. Only four exams, no homework. Must understand the material to do well on tests - no necessarily common sense.
definitely lively during class. Dont sit in the aisle seats unless you want to be called on. Attendance isnt mandatory but you take so many notes and he never uses the textbook. His tests are repeats from previous ones that are in the back of the notes book. He wasn't too bad, i hate economics and am managazing a B with a good amount of studying
Class not mandatory, tests are hard, study. need to go to class, but he rambles on about airplanes and a lot of useless information. very repetitious (gets annoying)
Harris is a character. Avoid the front of the room or the isles unless unless you don't mind being picked on. That being said, Harris keeps the class interesting with his mannerisms He goes over each concept wit several examples and spends a lot of time on each topic. Provides copies of old exams. Very helpful during office hours.
do not buy the textbook. attending class helps a lot because he gives examples. good teacher, keeps you somewhat interested. material is difficult but no impossible
I hate economics but he made the class bearable. I wish i had him the first time i took micro econ, he explained so many things that was just confusing before.
really fun class if you like an energetic professor. I never even looked at the textbook, he went over everything in class. You have to like a more in your face lecture method though.
Take econ with him! He makes things very straightforward. The graphs are very helpful. You don't have to go to class. Just study your notes and the practice exams and you will do fine. Do not buy the book. You will never look at it, I PROMISE! He is very energetic and I miss his classes!
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Hes not understanding, hes mean, hes arrogant, dont take him no matter what, his tests are impossible. and if you do take him, dont buy the book, you never use it and the book store wont buy it back.
Crazy Willie is a fun teacher and almost everyone I took this class with got an A or B. Just take notes and do the old exams, even if you don't understand the material you can do well by memorizing the old tests
You'll probably have him as a freshman and he's exactly what teachers warn you about college being like. A big lecture with him standing up front just talking the entire time. Despite this, it's not boring. Tests are easy once you figure out how to study for them. Class is curved at the end. His teaching isn't for everyone, but he's not bad.
Whoever said crazy willie is mean and hard is ridiculous. that's a joke! He is so nice, funny and helpful! Tests are a joke! The practice tests he gives you are so similar, just study those and the notes. Great guy, easy class. Doesn't take attendance, and also curves grades like crazy. I got a 67 on exam 1 and still got an A - final grade
Took both micro and macro with him. Jokes are centered around beer and examples around aiplanes. I found him VERY irritating. Also, DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOKS! You never use them, the bookstores don't buy them back and it's just a scam for him to make money!
Harris is crazy, go to study sessions, there was a grad student that was so helpfull, it is hard material to learn, put in time after class, you can not goof off and expect to pass
The most annoying person I have encountered at UD, no joke. He rants about the most random things (airplanes, motorcycles) that he thinks supplement his lectures but are actually BS. The class is easy though--half of it is 151 material and if you can get a hold of old exams he always reuses questions.
Had him for both. Test questions are usually the inverse of practice test questions. No text/attendance needed. Probably wont have a choice of teachers if you need 151/152 but hes not bad at all. Very entertaining, just dont come late
Harris? What can I say. His lectures are very entertaining and he gets easily excited. I took his online video lec. class & he explains very well. Sometimes gets frustrated when you visit to ask questions. Online classes are open note (but no txtbk) & 2 hours (plenty of time).
Harris was great. He is definitely crazy and entertaining. Going to class is mandatory but thats ok, because class is enjoyable. Didn't read the text book, attended every class and review sessions and got an A.
Awesome/crazy teacher. He explains all the concepts thoroughly in class. Although numerous students skip class, I found it very beneficial to learn the concepts. Definitely would recommend him.
i agree 100% w/ whoever said he was the most annoying prof. his class will give you a headache, & although he seems funny, it really just gets annoying and redundant. will make u feel like an ass @ least 2x thru out the semester.. tests aren't too hard& he gives prev. tests for practice.. if u can get over his obnoxiousness, the class isn't too bad
Gives you the old exams, Reuses tests rotationg them every other year, and makes the class fun
The most obnoxious professor I have ever encountered. Calls students out if they disobey his strict "friendly reminders." Lectures are extremely boring.
Took online- DO NOT TAKE ONLINE unless you are great at economics. Tests are open note but no textbook but they're still incredibly hard. Video lectures weren't really that helpful.
Harris is a cool dude even though he is a little obnoxious at times. The class is a joke though, 0 homework, 3 exams and 1 final.. the exams are exactly the same as the ones in the back of the "micronotes" so make sure you do those. Overall good class, take him if you want an easy B/A.
A good teacher, he is hyper and pushes the boundries of his teaching to the limits, however with his unique methods you learn a great deal about econ because he relates the material to stuff college students can relate to. I reccomend him
DON'T BUY THE BOOK! you don't need it. just study from the notes and old exams he gives you. if possible find more old exams. questions are similar or the same. don't cough in class, he will yell. In general his class was not too bad, i got an A- and A in 152, so i'd suggest having him
Simply memorized the practice test at the end of the macronotes book since they were practically the same as the real ones (ex: he'll insert or take out a 'not' in the question). Lectures were annoying since each of his slides full single spaced pages. Not a hard professor but I didn't leave with a great understanding of econ either
Took him for ECON151 and ECON152. Basically same type of teaching. Take notes during class, don't need to read textbook, get the Macro/Micro notes. Practice exams very helpful. Grumpy old man, went up to him couple times to clarify on some topics, but he wouldn't explain.
Took crazy willy for both econ 151 and 152 didnt study much got C's or better on exams always, and even got an A on one. His classes are only 3 midterms and 1 final which sometimes is curved. Got a B- in both classes not too brutal, funny guy.
EASY! he is extrmely clear and makes sure you learn the material. Highly reccomended.
Crazy Willy. Going to class helps, not neccessary. Get the macro notes but not the text book. Study the tests in the back of the book and try to get the tests from prior years because that is almsot the exact test. He is not helpful and do not go to him with question. He does not care.
Crazy Willy was actually a pretty good guy. I went to lectures up until the first exam when I realized how easy the class was. If you're good, you can just study the macronotes since they are exactly what he goes over in the class, no need to attend class. I ended up with a pretty good grade and maybe attended a third of the classes.
i liked crazy willie. enthusiastic and passionate about economics. if you attend lectures and read his workbook then you can easily get an A
Very energetic in class as uses simple examples of his life to get macro points across during lectures. No homework, just exams. How well you study past exams will determine you success in this class.
Online class was really easy. A few lectures a week and a couple tests...my exam average was around a B+ but I got an A for the class. Do it online if you don't feel like going to class
The class is made up of strictly slides on a projector and a bunch of analogies that are funny, but not really helpful. If you are able to grasp a concept on your own then you'll do fine, but if you don't understand then get help immediately or it is extremely difficult to pass exams.
Funny teacher. Very upbeat & easy to listen to. If you like Economics, I would recommend him. I hated economics. Got D's both semesters, but I didn't hold that against him. I probably could have gotten C's if I studied. Attendance isn't mandatory. He gives you the tests from previous semesters. Not a bad class.
i love Crazy Willie! He makes class interesting & uses real life examples to explain stuff which is really helpful. He's funny and keeps the class engaged. If you listen to lectures and read the text you'll be totally fine, as well as see the TA for extra help. Gives old exams as practice which are practically identical to his 3 midterm exams.
Crazy Willie! Definately the most entertaining teacher I've had so far. He makes economics interesting though by using real life examples and he encourages people to answer questions so you're not just sitting there for 50 minutes. His tests are tricky though so read the questions carefully. Also, don't bother buying the book-only the micronotes.
This was my absolute LEAST favorite class. this guy is absolutely TERRIBLE and I have never regretted taking a class so much in my life. Ya he is cool as anything and funny and class is fun, but I would rather understand what the heck is going on and not get a 0 on 1 of 3 exams because I was sick and wouldn't let me retake the exam. great class NOT
Harris is great. He is funny and uses good examples that keep you interested. There was no need to buy the textbooks. Everything you need is in micronotes. His test questions can be hard to understand so the best way to succeed is to go to the lectures and study the practice tests. Do that and this will be a great class
Great teacher, made economics very interesting and easy to understand. The micronotes are all you need, don't bother with the textbook. He is strict about not being late, eating or drinking, cell phones but he's a good teacher and that shouldn't matter.
He is nothing short of a dictator. He doesn't allow us to leave the room early and a girl got up saying she felt light headed and he just told her that she looked fine... she fainted right then and there and a hospital was at the building within minutes. He may be an OK teacher, but certainly the most rude, degrading, and most immature teacher @ UD
Horrible class. If you look like you don't know the answer, he will pick on you to no end. Letter grade reduction to final grade is given for coming in late, leaving early, or having your cell phone on. 10% off for not writing your name in caps with last name first. Can't talk, eat, drink, go to the br (i guess unless you do it on yourself i guess)
No. Just...no. This is not an Economics class. This is a class about how much he likes to drive motorbikes and drink crappy beers. He's funny at the beginning, but the jokes get old and he just seems petty and mean-spirited after a while. I learned more in one afternoon with the phenomenal TA than I did with him in a whole semester.
His Intro to Micro class was a joke to me. The teacher rarely taught, there's no help given, and the work load, although easy at first, tends to get incomprehensible by the minute. He kept going off on tangents about guns, pot, and sex; and it had almost nothing to do with the material. Sorry, guys, but if you have a class with him, DROP IT ASAP.
STUDYSTUDYSTUDY! Everyone has this perception that economics is common sense...it is not. A little studying goes a long way, do the practice tests he provides in the back of the book. Don't bother getting the textbook, NEVER used it. Harris is quirky, but entertaining. He talks about guns, pot, sex, and planes more than economics.
Disgusts me. The freshman who don't know any better may think that his behavior is acceptable but I've been around long enough to know that is it absolutely not. He expects us to be respectful to him, when he will mock and belittle students constantly. He is really one of the most bitter people I have ever met
Entertaining, very intelligent, and funny. There are 3 exams plus a final. You do not need to attend every lecture.
DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK. It is just a way for Crazy Willy to make money only. Otherwise, the tests are not bad, especially if you get exams from past years to study off of. He talks a lot and sometimes goes off on tangents but an A is definitely attainable for both 151 and 152.
so rude and crass. He must be really bitter with his life that he feels the need to pick on students in order to make himself happy. Extreme power complex.
I took ECON 100 over the Summer and found the class to be enjoyable, and easy to understand. The week before the final test in the class, there was a death in my family making it hard to study. I explained this to Dr. Harris, and he was kind and accommodating. He did not have to be, but the fact that he was meant a lot to me.I highly recommend him.
He knows his stuff but there's only three exams for grades so its tough if you don't do well on one exam. Used the practice exams he gives you. Go to class.
I took it in the winter online. There was some material on the tests that wasn't in his lectures and a few things that weren't in the book. I read the whole thing. Have to put in a bit of work but you do learn quite a bit. 4 tests 50 question multiple choice. some were a little vague. got a B+
People may tell you not to take Crazy Willie for whatever reasons. But there is nobody who makes micro more entertaining or simple as he does. Don't reccomend taking Micro with anyone other then him. TA's are great and the practice exams are incredibly similar to the actual exam.
Very interesting class and keeps your attention however his exams are really tricky. Not a bad professor as long as you study your notes ALOT and go through all of the practice exams thinking of every possible opposite way he could ask the question! Overall interesting guy but tough exams.
I love this class! Professor Harris is such a great professor. He engages the class and makes Economics fun and interesting. Take notes in class and do the practice exams in the back of the book and you should be golden. The exams have some out there questions but if you get your hands on past exams your set. Go to office hours.
He's a boss. His class is pretty easy if you just go even though he doesn't take attendance. He's entertaining and you won't be bored during class.
I took him for 151 & 152, did well in both classes. He makes it funny to go to class. The workbook that you get is so helpful and you just have to study right from that for the tests. His tests are fair, nothing too tricky and if you have previous years' tests you're golden. Definitely take Crazy Willy!
You have to take a lot of notes in this class which makes it hard to listen while he talks as well. The tests are fairly difficult and your entire grade is based only on the 3 exams and the final so if you mess any of them up you're screwed. not an easy a, but not impossible.
Crazy Willy is awesome! He makes the material relatively entertaining for how boring econ should be. He does put a lot of notes up during class, but honestly, if you really read what he projects on the board, you don't have to write everything down word for word, only a couple key points. Also, his tests are identical to the practice tests.
Ahhh crazy willy. Nice enough guy, but has strict rules about being on time. Show up on time, or don't at all. Nonetheless, funny, and made what is a dry subject interesting. He is always very clear about what he talks about in class. Tests are based off notes and previous. Not hard to get a B, hard to get an A. Textbook is rarely used.
I loved Willy! If you have to take anyone I suggest him all the way! I switched into his class because I heard he explains thoroughly, and I'm glad I did. He does the best at teaching this subject. Don't sit in the front if you get embarrassed easily but otherwise TAKE HIM :) He's funny too and applies everything to real life situations.
If you don't understand Econ TAKE THIS TEACHER! He'll give you a thousand EXAMPLES until the material is permanently stuck in your head. The TESTS ARE OKAY and there is HO HOMEWORK and NO READING and its not necessary to get a GOOD GRADE.
Crazy Willie is strict but his class is a lot of fun. Just be on time and don't use your phone. He keeps your attention and try not to miss class. We never used the text book but micronotes are 100% necessary. Pay attention and take good notes. you don't have to write every note. just the key ideas. TAs are helpful if they speak english. Easy class
This class was RIDICULOUSLY difficult. I found myself studying two hours per night a week before each exam and never earned above a 75. I was able to explain concepts but tests have tricky wording. This class was so hard, I would honestly suggest not taking it. Also, he yells alot and gets excited about economics but it gets old fast.
Harris is a good teacher, very energetic and knowledgeable. He also will give you a good understanding of the material you are learning. The only bad thing is that his test are 100% multiple choice and the wording is often tricky so even if you know it you can easily get it wrong. No room for error either grade is made purely of those tests.
Don't have to go to class, just read the notes through, study old tests with explanations and then retake the old tests and foul get an A
His lectures are informative but they don't really help you the way the test is setup so I found myself struggling to go to class. But to put it simply there is nobody better to take ECON151 with @ Delaware. Harris is interesting and gives you the best chance to do well so take him. I really like him
great teacher because he gives so many examples. 3 exams and a final. tricky but if you study and do the practice tests he provides, As and Bs arent too hard. you get used to his style.
Not such a great teacher, tests are very tricky with wording. He tries to use examples of pot and beer to look cool but they get old quick and he picks on students in class. He takes forever to respond to emails and makes excuses. I would not recommend.
Very rude and doesn't grant students basic human rights .... such as going to the bathroom during class for example. He says that it is a huge distraction but he is the one who makes a huge distraction by calling students out in a room with a hundred people. He's an OK teacher otherwise but not a decent human being by any means.
I really enjoyed this class, he is easy to learn from because he uses so many examples. If you don't like being called on in class (like me) just sit in the back! His class goes by pretty fast if economics at all interests you. DON'T BUY THE BOOK, never used it. All you need is the micronotes, study from them and old exams and you'll be fine.
Best Econ Professor!! Take Harris!! Do not buy his textbook! He gives practice exams which are really helpful! He is crazy but it makes the class more interesting. Ended up with a B+ in the class.
I'm taking ECON100 online and it is literally the easiest class I've ever taken. He keeps it interesting by using real life examples, and he's pretty funny. The exams are open note, and I didn't study at all, I just took good notes and used them on the exam, and it was an easy A.
Harris keeps everyone on their toes! He uses good analogies that will help you to better understand the material, and that make the class fun and funny. He is a great teacher and I learned a lot from him. I'm taking another ECON class with him next semester! I highly recommend him!
Harris is seriously the man. He's hilarious and keeps you really interested in the material by using real-life examples. His tests are pretty easy, he gives you practice exams in the note packet. Doesn't let you use your phone or come late to class, but it's not hard to follow his rules. Awesome guy, taking him for 152.
Harris is not a good teacher. He fills the class with examples about guns that are barely even relevant to the economic concepts and just blabs on about cars and weed, thinking he's funny. Doesn't answer questions clearly. Don't buy the textbook even if he suggests it... did not use it once or need it.
I hate Harris. He treats you like you're in high school-you can't come in late, leave early, text, or eat/drink in the class or you get a letter grade drop. So you may run to this class to make it on time only to be turned away. He uses examples only relevant to him and he's just really pretentious. Don't take him.
Harris is really an great professor, I would recommend him to anyone. He teaches the material in a manner that we can relate to. It really helps learning the material. The micro notes are good to study from and he gives you practice exams. Take him!!!
He has excellent examples in class and really tries to drive home his point. He is also very insane and this makes class entertaining but leaves some gaps in the actual education which shows up on exams. ALWAYS bring your calculator, even when he says you wont need it or it isnt alowed.
This class was ridiculously hard. I took it online. There was 4 open note tests, but even with all of my notes & book, the tests were impossible! The online lectures are an hour & a half long & he talks about examples for so long that you forget what the topic was in the first place. He does curve the overall grade, but I would not take this class.
Plain and simple, Harris has strict rules but makes class interesting. All the midterm exams were much like practice exams but the final was out of left field. Not an extremely difficult course, B's and C's easy to achieve, but an A is extremely difficult. Hard class, but interesting to some extent.
Take this class! yes the rules are strict but it's easy and requires almost no work. Don't buy the textbook, you will never use it, just buy the micronotes. He keeps things interesting in class and he will use his class examples in the exams so go to the lectures even though it's not required. Definitely recommend prof Harris
I would't recommend taking this class unless you have to. I took it online and it was basically impossible to pass exams even with the notes and book. I emailed him and asked for help and he told me to "continue to do your best, I always apply a generous curve". Not helpful I think it's more of a "get exposed" than a "let's learn" class. Good luck.
Decent professor, kind of a pain to listen for 50 minutes. Hes funny sometimes but hes a total spaz. He teaches things that seem to be so easy and common sense like but the exams are really tricky. He words them strangely. Practice exams in back of MacroNotes help a lot. I worked pretty hard for a B-.
by far one of the worst experiences i have had in class. He is not understanding. Likes to yell. Don't go late to class and never purchase the book. By far one of the worst teachers i have had in my college experience. Had extreme difficulties learning in this class.
I took Econ151 with Crazy Willie and loved him so much I had to take Econ152 with him. He makes Econ not boring and understandable. Buy the macronotes but not the textbook, never be late for class! class is not mandatory but the exams are solely based on the notes in class. Great teacher! take him!
Harris is a great professor who tells you everything you need to know for the exams. He uses overhead projectors to teach his lectures so he is a little outdated. DO NOT GET THE TEXTBOOK. It is very expensive and almost never used, however, the "macronotes" book is required. Review sessions help a lot! Good professor overall but moves quickly.
Macronotes have practice exams in the back which prepare you for the exams very well. Never once used the textbook, do not buy it. Kind of arrogant but a pretty goodprofessor and the class isn't too hard.
Most helpful thing is to do the practice exams and the practice questions from the textbook that he uses on the test. Attendance not mandatory, but you won't understand the notes unless you are there to hear the explanations that go with them. For a huge lecture, he teaches it well.
HE'S CRAZY! Must study for exams in order to do well. Lectures are boring and he doesn't take attendance but it is important to go to take the notes. You don't need to read the textbook but it does help and he takes questions from the textbook chapter reviews.
He's insane and really funny. I didn't do well in the class and found it impossible but most of my friends did fine. Your grade is three exams and a final. Focus more on what he's saying than what's on the screen. Make sure you go to the review sessions and do the practice tests. You don't need to read the book, but do the problems in it
Harris is absolutely nuts but the class is fairly easy and he uses a lot of examples to make things memorable. Follow his class rules or you will get called out. Attendance isn't recorded but be sure to get notes if you miss class. Over all I'm glad I took this class.
Harris is an awesome guy. Class attendance isn't mandatory but going most of the time will help your grade a ton. Buy the Micronotes for sure. The textbook isn't really needed but helps a lot for the exams. He has review sessions before each exam and if you go and study hard for the tests you will probably get an A. Definitely take Harris.
Take this class!! Harris is crazy but awesome. He's extremely smart and knows how to teach. GO TO CLASS. Definitely take notes and study for exams. If you have to take econ, he's the guy you should take it with. It's only hard if you don't try.
Harris is seriously the man! He's crazy and can get annoying during class sometimes but he uses relevant examples to keep the class engaged in the subject. Make sure to go over the practice problems from the textbook and the micronotes, they were both very useful and helped me solidify an A.
He was pretty good. I watched all the lectures and took notes. The test were kind of challenging considering they were open book and open notes at the testing place I used. The lectures were actually really interesting and fun to watch. I would recommend taking him online.
Crazy Willie is a great econ professor and a cool guy in class. Will clarify material even more if you go to his office. Tests are from the book and old exams. studying just the old exam probably gets you a C. Book questions, old exams, and little bit of notes makes a solid A
He is the type of professor that puts the notes up & expects you to copy them and listen to him talking at the same time. He makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Dont buy the book, I haven't opened it once and you can't sell it back. Also if you email him don't expect and answer & if you go to office hours don't expect help.
If you like lectures and not small classes, it is perfect. Come to class and take notes: if you read off the slides then copy them down and read later, concepts are easy to learn. Pitch in to buy a textbook with friends, don't need it but there are test questions at the back. Funny guy, don't sit close to the front if you don't want to be called on
Micro personally was harder than Macro. Notes are long but helpful. Go to reviews and study from your notes and practice exams because the exams are very similar.
Crazy Willie is definitely one of the best professors I have had. If you actually go to class and pay attention, take notes, do his old exams, and study the key concepts there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A! His old exams are pretty much the same as the one you'll get, but he'll reverse some words so watch out. Overall great class!
Overall the class is ok, but his rudeness is hard to deal with. You don't have to go to class, but as long as you get the notes from someone you'll be ok. It's easy to get a B, but he makes it challenging to get an A. He's arrogant and likes to call students out. Also if you are late any time at all he drops your grade a WHOLE letter grade!
Very enthusiastic lecturer--extremely old school, does not appreciate when rules are broken.
Prof. Harris is a funny guy who enjoys being with his students. He is loud and knows his material well, as most examples are very relevant. I do find myself shocked by his no bathroom, eating, drinking, talking, lateness policy but hey its his classroom. He teaches the material well enough but the reviews are useless. Reference Khan academy often.
DON'T SHOW UP LATE, USE PHONE OR TALK IN CLASS! If you go to class and pay attention you can pass; but if you go to class, pay attention and take the practice tests in the back of the notes book, you can get an A. The practice tests are basically like the real tests. And if you need help, ask her it. He gets really into the lectures. clear info
Uses great real-life examples to teach concepts. Micronotes are a must. Not afraid to cal students out, can be rude.
lol so he shrieks random phrases out of no where, he picks on kids who answer wrong, and he has the strictest attendance policy on planet earth. I sat in the front row, and if you follow his rules and don't mind being harassed, he is one of the best professors at UD. He is so clear about everything economics, and he knows what he is talking about.
This class was the worst. He makes you uncomfortable with his rudeness. His tests are alright, definitely have to study. Hard to pay attention in class and his notes are confusing. He uses ok examples but the overhead projector is annoying and its just hard to learn the info as he's teaching. I wish i didnt take this class. Dont take him.
If you study and go to every class you can manage to do well in this class. Attendance is mandatory, he doesn't take attendance but if you skip a day you're screwed. He uses a projector and goes slow, he makes sure to explain his notes and all his examples. I personally think he's a great professor and will take him for Macro
Harris is a great professor. He does his best to keep students engaged despite the long lectures. I think the problem people have with him is the fact that there is no homework and grades are based solely on tests. I loved it. Also I advise sitting in the front. It forces you to pay attention and you'll learn more. Just be prepared to be called on.
I learned a lot from Mr. Harris, he taught me more about music than I had learned. He always taught me to listen to other music
Very entertaining man. Funny examples, interesting lecture. Too much writing though, the class consists of copying the notes and you are lucky if you can listen to one of his examples. Tests are on the micronotes, no need for the textbook.
Your grade is made up of 4 exams (3 midterms and a final), that's it. For the midterms, make sure you study the practice exams. He rewords the questions and reuses them. Personally, I felt the final was the most difficult exam. Can't eat or drink in the class and you can't use your phone. If you're late to class, he will drop a letter grade.
If you are late to class or use your cellphone he drops your grade one letter grade. therefore if you are late do not bother showing up... he does not take attendance but if you miss class and cannot get the notes from anyone you are screwed. Three mid-terms and a final and no homework
I went to basically every class and studied my ass off and did not end up doing well. If you are good at econ sign up Harris is a hilarious and great teacher, I just couldn't grasp the concepts being taught.
Great professor, definitely knows his stuff and takes his time to explain the material during the lectures. His pretty old fashioned, he has really strict policies about latenesseating+drinkingbathroom breaks etc. Easy class to pass, hard to get an A . Also the textbook is really expensive and unnecessary, and I wasn't even able to sell back.
Okay so don't buy the textbook bc you won't need it and you can't sell it back. If you go to classes and take notes, you'll be fine. Don't drinkeatleavecome in late or he'll literally lower your grade by a letter. STUDY THE PAST EXAM ON THE BACK bc that will help you A BUNCH.
Harris talks down to all of his students. It's a huge lecture (200+ students) and he still manages to randomly call people out and tries to embarrass them. Very strict late policy (if late, final grade gets dropped by a whole letter grade) Took him for micro got a D-. I am now in macro with another professor and I am currently as a B.
Harris is strict with classroom rules, but as long as you abide by them, you'll be fine. Make sure you go to class, or if you don't, you have to get the notes. If you study you're notes and the practice exams, you'll be fine. Would take again.
I enjoyed all his lectures, never missed any classes front row. Make sure your ready to write bring a pen to write faster. Follow his rules, the whole semester will go smooth. I know he may seem scary at first, go to his office hours at least 3 times in one semester. This will take the edge off. FYI If you like German cars, he talks about Porsche.
Professor Harris is an old-school teacher with clear guidelines for his class. Just go to class and pay attention to what he says. It's important to right down his notes but also pay attention to what he says. Overall, I liked him as an Econ teacher.
I took him twice because I didn't want to adjust to another econ teacher second semester. First off he's crazy af and you will realize that first day. Theres only 3 or 4 tests, no other grades. All notes are in his note packet. Never touched the textbook. The practices tests are similar to real test so try to get last years peoples note packets
Word of advice: sit in the back middle. He calls on and will make fun of students who don't pay attention (its easy to zone out). If you show up late or look at your phone during the lecture you will get subtracted a letter grade. 4 tests are the only four grades you have and they are not easy. If I could do it again, I'd take a grad student
Attend all lectures unless you have lecture notes. Before exams, read through the note 3 times and you pass.
I personally did not like his syllabus. He gives you 4 tests including the final and thats your total grade. So if you do bad on a test you cant make up for it with homework or participation.. i had to audit the class because i did poorly on my first test
Professor Harris is an entertaining teacher who makes listening to lectures interesting. His stories and examples help you stay engaged and learn the material. There is no homework at all! The exams are pretty much the same thing as the practice exams in the book! Only complaint is you can't leave to use the bathroom or drink water in class.
no homework, no textbook, 3 exams and a final, easy A
Long lectures but the notes are helpful and he gives you last year's tests so you'll know what to expect on the tests. Study the notes and you'll be okay. Don't buy the actual textbook, but you HAVE to buy the micronotes.
Very funny and clear, however if you are not good with economics, the class structure won't benefit you because there's only 3 exams and a final. I read the book, skipped just 3 classes (because of his lateness policy), studied tons and still didn't do well on the exams.
You Cannot be late to his class. He locks the door at class start. Lectures are long and in depth but clear. The tests are multiple choice and takes the entire class period.
This man was a blessing to all. He was the funniest most informed professor I know, he has such a grasp on his class that he can joke about it and you still get it. His methods are a bit unconventional but I like how he does it. He may seem a little strange and get into some trouble now and again but he knows how to do his job and do it well.
